Siddique’s unique expertise is brought to bear in his new book The Pashtun Question: The Unresolved Key to the Future of Pakistan and Afghanistan (London: Hurst and Company, 2014). Behind the scenes of Soros foreign intrigues... Soros aggression abroad exposed for all to see by his henchmen... Perhaps not since the days of Prince Klemens von Metternich and Mayer Amschel Rothschild has the world witnessed a malevolent behind-the-scenes power broker like international hedge fund mogul and national economy manipulator like George Soros. Although Soros has been fairly public about his ultimate goals, which include the dissolution of the Russian Federation and the People's Republic of China, it is his henchmen -- those who are employed by his Open Society Foundations and Institute -- who carry out Soros's orders on the ground. Our intelligence sources in New York recently witnessed first-hand the bilious nature of Soros's operations in eastern Europe and the Middle East. Anthony Richter, associate director of Soros's Open Society Foundations and director of the Middle East and North Africa Initiative, thundered on at a hosted dinner about Russian President Vladimir Putin being a "fascist ...

She is originally from New York City, but grew interested in Eastern Europe in high school, when she spent summers in the region for debate programs funded by the Open Society Foundations. A portion of her work was published earlier this year as a feature piece in Foreign Affairs.

“Do not cry for your father because now it is you who has to be the responsible one.” These were the words spoken to Samiulla at his father’s funeral. In 2009, a bomb blast killed his father. In the blast 213 were injured and 137 killed and Samiulla was left to provide for his family. As the oldest in the family, Samiulla spends his days running a store in the local market. He wakes up early and returns home late at night. He had to give up his dream of going to school. Videographer Khurrum M. Sultan captures this sad story, all too common in Pakistan. He hopes that by telling the story of Samiulla, children in the region will soon be able to live free from terror and fear. Global Survivors network has more details on the victims and those left behind from the many bomb attacks on civilians, often targeting public servants in Pakistan. This film was produced with the support of Open Society Foundations.

Medical Ethics Have Been Violated at Detention Sites, a New Report Says A group of experts in medicine, law and ethics has issued a blistering report that accuses the United States government of directing doctors, nurses and psychologists, among others, to ignore their professional codes of ethics and participate in the abuse of detainees in Afghanistan, Iraq and Guantánamo Bay, Cuba. The report was published Monday by the Institute on Medicine as a Profession, an ethics group based at Columbia University’s College of Physicians and Surgeons, and the Open Society Foundations, a pro-democracy network founded by the billionaire George Soros. The authors were part of a 19-member task force that based its findings on a two-year review of public information. The sources included documents released by the government, news reports, and books and articles from professional journals. Among the abuses cited in the report are doctors’ force-feeding of hunger strikers by pushing feeding tubes into their noses an ...

Doctors complicit in torture at CIA, military prisons Tue, 5 Nov 2013 WASHINGTON: Doctors and nurses tasked with monitoring the health of terror suspects were complicit in abuses committed at prisons run by the Pentagon and the CIA, an independent report said Monday. The Defense Department and the CIA demanded that the health care personnel "collaborate in intelligence gathering and security practices in a way that inflicted severe harm on detainees in US custody," according to the two-year study by the Institute of Medicine and the George Soros-funded Open Society Foundations. Medical professionals helped design, enable and participated in "torture and cruel, inhumane and degrading treatment" of detainees, according to the report. Collaboration at US prisons in Afghanistan, Guantanamo and the Central Intelligence Agency secret detention sites began after the September 11, 2001 terror attacks in the United States. "It's clear that in the name of national security, the military trumped (the Hippocratic Oat ...
The magnitude and geographical scope of Soros’s charitable activities are unprecedented. A list of his philanthropic activities on his foundation’s Web site spans 500 pages. They provide the most comprehensive overview of his giving and may be accessed here. Why did Soros establish the Open Society Foundations? "When I had made more money than I needed for myself and my family, I set up a foundation to promote the values and principles of a free and open society," George Soros has said. What is an “open society”? An open society is a society based on the recognition that nobody has a monopoly on the truth, that different people have different views and interests, and that there is a need for institutions to protect the rights of all people to allow them to live together in peace. Broadly speaking, an open society is characterized by a reliance on the rule of law, the existence of a democratically elected government, a diverse and vigorous civil society, and respect for minorities and minority opin ...

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR POWERFUL UPDATE,THE GREAT SOROS THROUGH MICHAEL VACHON. Dear Friend and Colleague: George Soros and the Open Society Foundations have long been advocates of greater transparency in the extractive industries. This article in the current issue of the New Yorker demonstrates why transparency is so crucial to the future of resource rich countries in the developing world. All best, Michael Vachon Press Release from the New Yorker How an Israeli Billionaire Wrested Control of One of Africa’s Biggest Prizes In the July 8 & 15, 2013, issue of The New Yorker, in “Buried Secrets” (p. 50), Patrick Radden Keefe investigates allegations that one of Israel’s richest citizens may have bribed African officials in order to obtain a prospecting license in Guinea and the riches that could result from it. “As wealthy countries confront the prospect of rapidly depleting natural resources, they are turning, increasingly, to Africa, where oil and minerals worth trillions of dollars remain tr ...
Regarding the IRS scandal, it's interesting to follow 1) the timeline of influential requests made against Tea Party groups & 2) the money... The Campaign Legal Center, Democracy 21, the Center for Public Integrity, Mother Jones and Alternet have all worked to pressure the IRS to target conservative nonprofit groups. The subsequent IRS investigation flagged more than 100 tea party-related applications for higher scrutiny, including applications that included the words “Tea Party” and “patriot.” The IRS scandal can be traced back to a series of letters that the liberal groups Campaign Legal Center (CLC) and Democracy 21 sent to the IRS back in 2010 and 2011. Both groups were funded by the Open Society Foundations. The CLC received $677,000 and Democracy 21 got $365,000 from the Soros-backed foundation, according to the Foundation’s 990 tax forms. The letters specifically targeted conservative Super PACs like Karl Rove’s Crossroads GPS, asking the IRS to scrutinize them more thoroughly to determ ...

Barker wrote five more IRS stories in 2013. On May 22, 2013, she co-wrote an article for ProPublica rationalized the IRS’s actions, in which she claimed that “[m]ost of the money spent on elections by social welfare nonprofits supports Republicans.” Barker has worked for ProPublica since 2010. She previously wrote for The Washington Post, as well as for openly liberal outlets The Atlantic and Salon. ProPublica began operations in 2008 with funding from the liberal Sandler Foundation. According to The New York Times it was “the creation of Herbert M. and Marion O. Sandler, the former chief executives of the Golden West Financial Corporation.” The billionaire Sandlers “committed $10 million a year to the project.” In addition to the Sandler millions, ProPublica has received $300,000 from liberal billionaire George Soros’s Open Society Foundations. Neither connection was mentioned during the CBS interview.

George Soros -- the rich man who is hated around the world - By Dan Gainor February 28, 2012 - 7:56am - George Soros [1] has donated more than $8 billion globally to his Open Society Foundations. Couple that with decades of investing around the world and it would be easy to assume Soros in a figure of global popularity. Only he isn’t. He’s almost the polar opposite. Soros made headlines recently [2] warning of increased economic problems, the growth of Occupy Wall Street and government repression what he characterized as “strong-arm tactics to maintain law and order.” In short, the kind of chaos he helped foment in the old Soviet Union and elsewhere. In his book “Open Society,” Soros credits his foundation with “mobilizing civil society” against the government in Slovakia [3] and Croatia [4], among others. He readily calls himself “an active participant [5] in the revolution that swept away the Soviet system.” So when Soros talks of chaos, it’s a subject he knows well. The only ques ...
In these days of unprecedented economic and social crisis, which leads to steep rise of xenophobic and racist phenomena, Médecins du Monde and the Greek Council for Refugees join their forces in the implementation of the program called "ENOUGH!" The program is supported by the Open Society Foundations as part of the Fund to Counter Xenophobia. The aim of the program is to sensitize and inform the public about: the pernicious repercussions of racism; the need to combat racist crimes; the need to end impunity for perpetrators of such crimes; and the protection of victims. It is also aimed at promoting all necessary actions that will help adopt an official National Strategy in the combating of this phenomenon, as well as to push for the elaboration of a National Review amongst other actions.   In the scope of this program, the two organizations undertake important initiatives to fight against the impunity for perpetrators of racist crimes by providing legal support to victims of racist violence ...

WASHINGTON -- The U.S. counterterrorism practice known as extraordinary rendition, in which suspects were quietly moved to secret prisons abroad and often tortured, involved the participation of more than 50 nations, according to a new report released Tuesday by the Open Society Foundations.
This is a long post but a must read. Be informed, its our country. America's Global Torture Network Posted on Huffington Post dtd 8 Feb 2013 by Robert Scheer The title, "Globalizing Torture," says it all. This meticulous accounting of the network of torture chambers that the United States has authorized in more than 54 nations is a damning indictment that should make all of us in this country cringe with shame. The report is a product of the Open Society Foundations, funded by international financier and philanthropist George Soros, who, as a young Jew, suffered through the Nazi occupation of Hungary and emerged from that experience an uncompromising fighter for human rights. That his lifelong goal to "foster accountability for international crimes," reflected in his organization's mission statement, now includes our government is a condemnation as awful as it is deserved. When it comes to torture in the post 9/11 era, the record of the United States is so appalling that one must question our claimed abho ...
