Old Trafford is a football stadium in Old Trafford, Greater Manchester, England, and the home of Manchester United. With a capacity of 75,811, Old Trafford is the second-largest football stadium in England after Wembley, the third-largest in the United Kingdom and the eleventh-largest in Europe. The stadium is approximately from Old Trafford Cricket Ground and the adjacent tram station. Villa Park is an association football stadium in the district of Witton, Birmingham, England with a seating capacity of 42,786. It has been the home of Aston Villa Football Club since 1897. The team previously played at Aston Park from 1874 to 1876 and Perry Barr from 1876 to 1897. The ground is less than a mile from both Witton and Aston railway stations and has hosted sixteen England internationals at senior level, the first in 1899 and the most recent in 2005. Semi Finals at Wembley don't help either! Villa Park and Old Trafford would be my preferred venues
semis should be at Old Trafford, The Emirates, Villa Park,The Etihad, Millenium Stadium, Anfield or St. James Park.
Well, I didn't expect we'd get anything at Old Trafford. Tuesday's game against QPR at Villa Park is a must win.
Anfield, a full Elland Road, St James' Park, Old Trafford and Villa Park the top five. For me, anyway...

Goals by Christian Benteke and Radamel Falcao shared the points in a match United did not do enough to win. Tough matches against Newcastle United at Old Trafford and Tottenham Hotspur at White Hart Lane coming up for United. Two must win matches.

Aston Villa are confident of signing Tom Cleverley on loan from Manchester United, according to Sky sources. Villa are waiting to hear back from the Premier League concerning a last-minute application to take the midfielder to Villa Park for the rest of the season on loan. It is understood that the two clubs were in talks for much of deadline day as both sought to negotiate a deal. Manchester United's representatives are thought to have been busy with securing Falcao's loan move to Old Trafford and Danny Welbeck's exit to Arsenal as well as additional outgoings, meaning that a deal for Cleverley may have missed the 11pm deadline. However, Villa are confident they have got their man after they submitted their application to the Premier League just before the deadline, outlining they had reached an agreement with United to make Cleverley their seventh acquisition of the window. Cleverley, who looks to have little future at Old Trafford with boss Louis van Gaal making him available to other clubs, was believ ...
-SilvaSports Man Utd ACCEPTS £8 MILLION FROM Aston Villa FOR TOM CLEVERLY Much maligned Manchester United midfielder Tom Cleverley is set for a move away from Old Trafford after it emerged that Aston Villa had a bid for the permanent transfer of the midfielder accepted. The offer, said to be in the region of £8 million, was made to United on Thursday before being quickly accepted, according to Sky Sports journalist Pete O'Rourke. Cleverley is said to be one of the player Louis van Gaal wants to shift from the United books, and it will be music to the ears of the majority of United fans who believe he doesn't deserve a place in the team. Villa are said to be keen to wrap up the transfer of the player prior to Monday's transfer deadline. The large bid is a show of commitment from club owner Randy Lerner, who already has the club up for sale. Despite this, Lerner has given Paul Lambert money to spend to bring the England international to Villa Park. Hull City were also said to be interested in signing the ...
I don't care getting the 3 points at Old Trafford or Etihad or Emirates or Anfield I want the 3 points when we go to Goodison Park, Villa Park, Upton Park, White Hart Lane, etc.. etc...
More At The Empire Of Manchester United By HaYtHeMoViC 17 ManUtd.com's review of the 20th title moves on to November... Overview It was a mixed month at home and abroad for the Reds starting and ending on a high, for Robin Van Persie in particular, with important strikes against former club Arsenal and West Ham (United's quickest goal of the season after 33 seconds) at Old Trafford. Come-from-behind wins at Braga and Aston Villa were followed by 1-0 defeats away to Norwich and Galatasaray, but the loss in Turkey didn't matter after qualification for the knock-out stages had been secured in Portugal earlier in the month. Key moment Javier Hernandez came off the bench to inspire the Reds in a vital win at Villa Park with an impressive double (he left the pitch with the match ball but his second goal was later credited to Villa's Ron Vlaar). Andreas Weimann struck either side of half-time before Chicha entered the fray at the break and did the business in front of goal. Star man Chicharito collected ManUtd.c ...
Giggs retires, massively overrated for me,great in the early 90's but failed his country and hung around Fergie and Old Trafford like a Walrus fart when his days at the top were over, can't knock his goal at Villa Park but never wowed me after 99-2000
The FA really need to consider using , Villa Park and Old Trafford for the cup Semi Finals again, no excitement what so ever at wembley for semis
Skipper Steven Gerrard scored twice as Liverpool thrashed Manchester United 3-0 at Old Trafford to go second in the Premier League. Fabian Delph's late strike saw Aston Villa stun league leaders Chelsea 1-0 at Villa Park.
27 pounds for the Aviva Premiership Final (Rugby union) at Twickenham. What are they charging for the Semi Final and final (Football) at Wembley? Wembley should be for the final only. What's wrong with Old Trafford, Villa Park, The Etihad or the likes??
The Blues have won four of the remaining nine, at Old Trafford, Villa Park, Upton Park and the Liberty Stadium.

United's last Premier League defeat at Villa Park came on the opening day of the 1995-96 season. They are unbeaten in 17 subsequent visits (W11, D6). 6 THINGS WE LEARNT FROM THE Premier League LAST WEEKEND Liverpool bounced back to form with a comprehensive win over a struggling Fulham side at Anfield, while Southampton impressed in disposing of Hull City. Chelsea needed a late penalty from Eden Hazard to earn a 2-2 draw at home to West Brom. Aston Villa left in late, but were able to see off Cardiff City at Villa Park while Manchester United grabbed a potentially crucial Premier League victory over Arsenal on Sunday evening at Old Trafford, as Robin Van Persie once again punished his former employers. Here are 6 lessons we picked from all the top games Tim Krul Is One Of The Best Keepers In The Premier League In a week that saw Tottenham Hotspur’s goalkeeper all over the national news, Tim Krul wrote some headlines of his own in the capital with an outstanding display. His agility and composure between the posts kept Newcastle United’s lead intact on numerous occasions, and his man of the match award at the end was fully justified. The Dutchman ma ...
The Rundown: Manchester United v Arsenal: 10 famous matches Manchester United host Arsenal at Old Trafford on Sunday for the latest instalment in one of English football's fiercest rivalries. Here we pick out 10 of the best meetings between the two clubs over the past 25 years. 1- Manchester United 2-1 Arsenal (a.e.t): April 14, 1999, Villa Park (FA Cup semi-final replay) Ryan Giggs's wonder goal can be forgiven for stealing the headlines in what was an exceptional match. United took a first-half lead with a classy long-range strike from David Beckham in a game that ebbed and flowed, until the Gunners equalised midway through the second half with a Denis Bergkamp shot that deflected off Jaap Stam and squirmed under the body of Peter Schmeichel. It took on a whole new dimension when Roy Keane was sent off for a second yellow card and, with the introduction of Marc Overmars, Arsenal were all over United. Nicolas Anelka had a goal disallowed for offside and United's dream of an unprecedented trophy haul seem ...

Old Trafford, Emirates, Villa Park - See top 10 biggest stadiums in the English League -
In over 40 years of watching Watford FC ive seen them play in a Cup Final, play in Europe, play-off finals (twice), been part of our smallest ever crowd when we were bottom of the old 4th division, lived through the golden eras of Graham Taylor/Elton John, witnessed the disasters of the Simpson/Vialla era's that nearly saw WFC go bust, travelled thousands of miles to far flung outposts like Barnsley, Tranmere, Exeter, Wrexham, Oldham etc...Had the priviledge of following the golden boys to Old Trafford, White Hart Lane, Hillsborough, Villa Park, Highbury etc... But today..without a doubt..is the biggest day in the history of Watford Football club..to the old stagers like myself who have been there and done that, the kids who are living the dream for the 1st time today, the loyal Hornets who have travelled the world to be here today and the thousands out there with the Golden Boys of Hertfordshire running through ur veins.lets witness history..ENJOY THE DAY!!! COYH'S!
remember when you had to go to Villa Park, Old Trafford, Highbury, Selhurst Park, etc. for a semi-final?
So the football stadiums I've been to for club games are; Villa Park, Old Trafford, Ninian Park and Cardiff City Stadium.
7:30AM GMT 01 Mar 2013 Former team-mates, football pundits and writers recall their favourite Ryan Giggs moment as the Manchester United and Wales legend approaches his 1,000th appearance in senior football against Norwich City at Old Trafford on Saturday. Henry Winter (Telegraph Football Correspondent) Goal against Arsenal during FA Cup semi-final replay win, April 14, 1999 Ryan Giggs’s winning goal goal in extra time at Villa Park was not simply a work of art, picking off Patrick Vieira’s loose pass and weaving through a famous defence to score. It was also hugely significant. It took Manchester United to Wembley and made them believe in the Treble. It so excited Alex Ferguson that he compared it to the greatest goals ever such as Diego Maradona’s dribble and Marco van Basten’s volley. It also contained a brilliant celebration: Tardelli with a chest wig. - Gary Pallister (Former team-mate) Goal against Juventus during 3-2 Champions League win, Oct 1, 1997 It is difficult to pick one goal or mome ...
Musings on the Semi Final... Flags at Villa Park. Oh very dear. For a minute there I thought it was White Hart Lane! Message to Villa: I'm certainly no fan of the Mancs or Bindippers, but have you ever seen those two-bob plastic flags at Old Trafford or Anfield? I think not. Think about it. (I was going to include Chelsea and Arsenal in the above but as they've done exactly the same in recent seasons, I couldn't... less said the better methinks). If Bradford beat the Original Plastics or Swansea at Wembley, they'll have won more silverware than *** in the last seven years. How d'you like them apples Gooners?!! Amazing they could be in Europe as well if they manage to pull it off - highly unlikely but entirely plausible. Villa. This could well finish them off. An appearance at Wembers could possibly have given them enough momentum to stay up, even with so many under-performing players this season. Unless they buy a few before the end of the month, imo it could well be goodnight...
SUNDERLAND VS TOTTENHAM 12:45 Tottenham have only one won of their last seven league games at Sunderland (W1, D3, L3). The Black Cats failed to score in both of last season's encounters with Spurs. Aston Villa VS WIGAN 15:00 Wigan have only lost one of seven league games away at Aston Villa (W3, D3, L1). That defeat came on their last trip to Villa Park, a 2-0 loss on 1 October 2011. FULHAM VS SWANSEA 15:00 Swansea won both of their matches against Fulham last season, scoring a total of five unanswered goals. Their 3-0 win at Craven Cottage on St Patrick's Day 2012 was their first win at Fulham since 1980. Manchester United VS West Brom 15:00 Manchester United have never lost to West Brom in the Premier League (W10, D2). West Brom's last league win over United was back in 1984. The Baggies' last victory at Old Trafford was a 5-3 triumph on 30 December 1978. NORWICH VS Manchester City 15:00 Manchester City did the double over Norwich last season, winning 5-1 at home and 6-1 away. Carlos Tevez scored a hat ...
He's the "Super-Sub". Came of the bench and banged in 2 goals & caused 1 goal to be deflected into goal against Aston Villa. Came of the bench again on Sat and scored an excellent goal against QPR. United were 2 goals behind Aston Villa at Villa Park and a goal down to QPR at Old Trafford and gee weez, the Red Devils beat Villa 3-2 and QPR 3-1. But this bad habit of conceding the early goals and going behind must stop. Its unhealthy and it gives fans a "heart attack". United must now start scoring and going in front beginning with the mid week match against the Hammers.
Man Utd is the only team that plays 20 home games in the EPL in a season. 19 at Old Trafford & 1 at Villa Park"
Manchester United travel to Villa Park this weekend with plenty at stake. Having climbed to top spot in the Premier League almost unnoticed, they now have the chance to extend their lead over Chelsea and Manchester City to four points. City and Chelsea face Tottenham and Liverpool respectively on Sunday afternoon. Both will be hopeful of gaining at least a point from their respective games, but it won't be easy for either; United, meanwhile, take on a lacklustre Aston Villa side and will feel that they must capitalise on the opportunity. Blog: No favours from Ferguson Having lost twice in the league already this season, Sir Alex Ferguson can be forgiven if he has a wry grin on his face when assessing the permutations of this weekend's fixture list. The ball is now in United's court, and on the week that he celebrated his 26th anniversary at Old Trafford, he will revel in the knowledge that he has gained the edge on his big-spending competitors. At the other end of the scale, Paul Lambert is just beginning ...
gutted i cant play tonight at villa park and gutted i cant go to Old Trafford to watch GALATASARAY even tho i had tickets :(
Shocking, thousands of empty seats. You wouldn't have that if the game was at Old Trafford, Anfield, St James' or Villa Park. Still paying for Wembley eh?!
I didn't say that, ER needs updating but the team needs investment first. Villa Park also needs work. It should be Old Trafford
That includes visits to the Britainnia, Anfield, the Etihad, Old Trafford, Carrow Road, Upton Park and Villa Park to play >
the Community Shield will be held at Villa Park.. surely they could have used Old Trafford or the Emirates?
Never been to the country ground But I hated Villa Park and Old Trafford for atmopshere. Just too big :/
Manchester City is expected to begin the defence of their Premier League title at home to newly promoted Southampton. Runners-up Manchester United start their campaign at Everton when the top flight kicks off on 18 August. Reading return to the Premier League by hosting Stoke, while promoted West Ham entertain Aston Villa. The Manchester derby at Etihad Stadium takes place on 8 December with the return fixture at Old Trafford scheduled for 6 April. New Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers starts with a trip to West Brom, now managed by former Reds coach Steve Clarke. Liverpool, whose poor home form of last season was a factor in Kenny Dalglish's dismissal, face Manchester City, Arsenal and Manchester United in their first three home games. Michael Laudrup, who took over from Rodgers at Swansea, can look forward to an opening game at QPR. Paul Lambert's reign as Aston Villa manager begins with a trip to play-off winners West Ham before he has a chance to impress fans at Villa Park when taking on Everton. New Nor ...
Loool how is Villa Park hosting the Community Shield? Not even Old Trafford or The Millennium Stadium but Villa Park.
New stadiums are great, but you can't build history overnight. The likes of Old Trafford, Anfield, Stamford Bridge, Villa Park, White Hart Lane and Goodison Park may have changed greatly over the last century, but they still retain a huge amount of memories. Still, it is remarkable just how much the...
White Hart Lane, St James Park, Old Trafford, Goodison, Anfield, Villa Park, Fratton Park (we'll be off there)
I wonder what happened to playing semi's at Villa Park & Old Trafford. The FA dont consider the fans at all.
Old Trafford and Villa Park semis were so much better. More atmosphere and excitement if you'd made it to Wembley!
I agree but its the final. Should be unique. Semis at Old Trafford, Emirates, Villa Park, Stadium of Light not good enough?
Understand the reasons for Wembley semis but really miss the old set up of games at Villa Park/ Old Trafford elsewhere
Well annoys me how Wembley hosts the semi-finals, it should be the final venue only! Semis should be at Old Trafford and Villa Park.
