DO NOT SAY U ARE NOT CARRIED ALONG!!! Ipokia! Ipokia!! Ipokia!!! We have been forming, norming and storming to have an Ipokia LG of our dream by consulting our various youth groups within and outside the Local Government. No doubt, the limited time on our side has not allowed us to reach everyone but don't wait till u receive a hard copy letter of invitation before u are part of the struggle to claim our constitutional rights from Ogun State and Yewa/Awori. Therefore, 1. Are u a bonafide indigene of this LG? 2. Do u agree we are poorly represented in government and marginalised to a stand? 3. Do u have a conscience of ur own? 4. Do u know we will be remembered for both d problems we create and the problems we solve? 5. Do u believe we can fight this unjust course without undermining our political differences? 6. Do u believe the time to SAY NO is now? 7. Do u believe we must return our community to the next generation better than we borrowed it from them? Then if u are blessed to affirm the above position ...

APC crisis: Osoba meets party loyalists today –Former governor of Ogun State, Aremo Segun Osoba has scheduled a meeting with all his political loyalists in the state today. The former governor, who is also a national leader of the All Progressives Congress was reported to have reached out to his loyalists in the APC across the state with a view to explaining the true nature of the situation. According to a chieftain of the party and a close confidant of Osoba, a member representing Ifo/ Ewekoro Federal constituency, Adekunle Adeyemi, the meeting would hold at the private house of Chief Osoba in GRA, Ibara, Abeokuta. The APC in the state has been embroiled in an internal wrangling which has led to its polarisation into two factions. What we witnessed during APC's local government congress across Ogun State today has further established the fact that the party is divided and is heading towards political tsunami. The center can no-longer hold between our power and ego driven governor what want to have 100% control of the party and his erstwhile god father, Chief Osoba. What you will find in each LG is a case whereby we have to party chairmen for a certain local government and other party executives. Simply put; Ogun APC has been successfully factionalised. Congratulations for this great feat 'Commander' Ibikunle Amosun.

I am not a native of Ogun State but have been privileged to school in the state and was recently there to observe its 2012 Local Government election. I am enthralled by the state’s many unique features and its primacy in the historical calendar of the Yoruba race. Ogun State occupies an exceptional position in the political economy of the South-West geopolitical zone, and indeed Nigeria, as a country. The state is comprised mainly of the Egba, Ijebu, Awori, and Yewa; all Yoruba speaking but with different dialects. Among the major towns in Ogun are Abeokuta, Sagamu, Ilaro, Ipokia, Ifo, Ota, Ijebu-Ode and Ijebu-Igbo. The uniqueness of Ogun State derives from the role some of its indigenes have played in the politics, economy and even the social life of Nigeria. The tertiary institutions in Ogun State include the University of Agriculture, Abeokuta; Ogun State University, Ago-Iwoye; Babcock University, Ilisan-Remo; Crescent University; Covenant University, Ota; Tai Solarin University of Education; Mo ...

Please find below our response to the Ogun State Governor's congratulatory message to the Super Eagles: 11/02/2013 It's laudable that the Governor recognises how the youths' "can do" attitude can be translated to an effective developmental drive should an enabling environment be provided. We the youth of Ogun State yearn for an innovation driven environment where every Local Government is allowed to deploy ideas commensurate with the realities of 2013 without the usual political red tapes that hinders our contributions. We believe that; should the core representative bases of the State's youths be effectively exploited, the pace of our aspirations could be quickened due to hibernating ideologies awaiting an enabling environment to thrive. As another rallying factor for our nation's troubled sojourn - football, provides a rare opportunity for the youths to re-awaken our embedded determined spirit, seizing the opportunity can only vantagely position us for the ensuing regional competitive sphere. With an ar ...

I don't normally throw too much words of commendation on political office holders simply because his good performance is expected. But with the current situation in the country you just have to commend those that distinguish themselves by whatever inches. I think Governor Amosun of Ogun State is re-defining governance. He is shown to us that he is for the people. He walked several kilometers in Sagamu discussing with both old & young on road projects. It may be a strategy to pretend but it is working for him. Till now I don't know what Ogbeni Aregbe of Osun and Ajimobi of Oyo are doing. The cannot conduct Local Government election because of reasons clear to them only. This and many more. We are watching anyway but let them know that people are now aware of personalities and not political parties.

*Says ministries ignore warnings *Oyan and Lagdo Dams, cause of alarm *Victims turn oil platforms, boats to homes By Jide Ajani, Emma Amaize, Samuel Oyandogha, Jimitota Onoyume, Festus Ahon As President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan continues his tour of flooded states across the country, a fresh alarm has been raised warning of a possible wipe out of the ancient town of Abeokuta, in Ogun State, and parts of Lagos State, both in the South West geo-political zone, and a substantial part of the South South Zone. (Click here for interview) The possibility of this calamitous development, Sunday Vanguard has been made to understand, could occur in the event that there is a collapse of the Oyan Dam, which is north of Abeokuta; just as the subsisting process of releasing water from the Lagdo Dam in Cameroon, if sustained, would only continue to worsen the already terrible flooding conditions in the S/South zone. An expert in flood management and control, Dr. Akingbola Omigbodun, gave this warning in an interactive ses ...

Am still wondering on how Local Government's chairmen in Ogun State will deliver i mean, giving dividends of democracy to the grassroots
Dear friends, The key objective of having Local Government (LG) administration is for the people to have local representation by one of their own, with whom they share a collective interest in the growth and development of their community and can jointly work together to achieve that objective. Undoubtedly, a functional and effective LG administration system in any part of the country has the capacity of engendering effective governance system at the grass root level. However, this requires effective leadership. This aptly informed my decision to serve as the Chairman of Odogbolu LG (ODLG) of Ogun State in order to provide the necessary leadership for the socio-economic and political development of ODLG area. With all sense of modesty, I am proud to be an indigene of Odogbolu LG and reiterate my commitment to accelerating its socio-economic and political transformations. My Vision for our LG is to make it “an enviable agent of participatory democracy, efficient administrative tier of government, service ...

Open letter to our amiable Ogun State Governor. Your Excellency, I want to start my write up by thanking and appreciating your good works in Ogun State. We all have eyes and we can see the beautiful Totoro road and construction of the first over head bridge (under construction) in Abeokuta. And we learnt similar developments are going on in other towns and cities in Ogun State. May God continue to bless your administration. Thank you, Sir. I am the Baale of Tepona land in Ewekoro local government. I want to call the attention of your Excellency to the road that leads to my village and environs. It is a nine kilometers road from Wasimi to Tepona. The road is the worst road in our local government, if not in the entire Ogun State. But funny enough, it is also one of the busiest roads. Excavation of sand from Ogun River from all the villages in Tepona environs brings over two hundreds heavy trucks to this road every day! The heaviness of these trucks has spoiled the road beyond ply-able to small ve ...
