Roger Federer will play against Novak Djokovic in the final match of Wimbledon on Sunday. So far he has got 7 Wimbledon, 5 US open, 4 Australian Open and 1 French Open major title. If Federer win that match, he will get 18 major titles. Novak Djokovic will become the world number 1 and Rafa Nadal will go to 2nd Seed start from Monday next week.
Roger Federer proved he can still "outrun time" and reclaim his grass-court empire by beating Milos Raonic to reach his ninth Wimbledon final. The 32-year-old dismissed Raonic 6-4 6-4 6-4 in today's semi-final, dispelling the Canadian challenger's prediction his All England Club era could come to a close. Federer will now face top seed Novak Djokovic in Sunday's final, where he can claim a record eighth title. Canada's eighth seed Raonic talked passionately about the challenge of dislodging tennis' top four in the build-up to his first Grand Slam semi-final. The 23-year-old believes the new wave of men's talent is finally ready to loosen the decade-long stranglehold enjoyed by Federer, Rafa Nadal, Andy Murray and Djokovic. Raonic claimed no one can "outrun time" and delay the inevitable passing of eras after his quarter-final victory over Nick Kyrgios - but even after 17 Grand Slam victories, Federer still has other ideas. Djokovic quietened the clamour of Queen's Club champion Grigor Dimitrov to reach hi ...

TENNIS WIMBLEDON Nicola Hanekom, Bettie Ferreira, Waterkloof Guest House GardenRoute, Ronel Dutoitdewet, Hanli du Plessis, Stephanus Kruger, Jc Marais, Danie Malan, Nina Marais, Stoffie Rossouw, Sone van Wyk, Joanne Swart Tandy, Jackie Winkens en alle ander fanate en belangstellendes. Wimbledon has seeded Novak Djokovic first, Rafa Nadal second and Andy Murray third. I'm not quite with the logic. Rafa is still No1 (and could remain so if he goes to the final) Andy Murray is defending champion. Djok might take over as No 1 but that is also to be seen. Wimbledon is the only Slam that doesn't seed according to ATP Rankings, but I still don't get it, Stan Wawrinka is ranked No 3, Roger no 4 and Murray only 5, yet Roger is seeded fourth and Stan fifth. Bietjie deurmekaar vir my. Maar wat weet ek ook nou?

Roland - Garros 2014 This year I’ve been remiss in my coverage of the French Open, already in its second week heading into the semi-finals. On the men’s side, Rafa Nadal has to be the favorite. The is still going strong and, after a shaky start to the clay court season, he seems to be finding his rhythm. But he’ll have to get past David Ferrer, and then Andy Murray or Gael Monfils in the semifinals, before the championship against either Ernest Gulbis or Novak Djokovic, who’s looking to win his first major on clay. David Ferrer (Spain) is probably the hardest working guy on the tour. I love Ferrer. Will he beat Rafa? No. Andy Murray will probably outmaneuver Gael Monfils (France) due to experience, but wouldn’t it be nice to see Nadal and Monfils play in the semifinals before a crazed Parisian crowd? Yes it would. Gulbis is getting much attention from his recent play, as well as beating Federer. Ordinarily, I don’t like the guys who beat Federer. It’s sad not to see Roger in the finals anymo ...

Roger Federer pooh poohs TV analysts and betting odds to denote Rafa Nadal the favourite followed by Novak Djokovic and then the rest
2014 Roland Garros Preview The 2014 European clay court seasons has been one of the most surprising that the world of tennis has seen in quite some time. For one thing, world # 1 Rafa Nadal failed to win a single tournament in April and thus far he has won just one title in Europe thus far this year. What’s even more surprising is that world # 2 Novak Djokovic didn’t win anything in April either, and neither man made into a final that month. Although both Nadal and Novak claimed Masters titles in May, neither of the top two guys look as indestructible as they did last year, or for that matter, any season in recent memory. Before reaching the Final in Rome, Nadal went through three straight three-set matches and Djokovic nearly lost in the Semi-Final against Canada’s Milos Raonic. The standard of play the top two players have set is so high that both men are under increased scrutiny despite the fact that Nadal still leads the ATP World Tour in wins this season and Novak jut claimed his third titl ...
French Open Tennis: Men's Outright Winner. World number 1 Rafa Nadal (evens, Bet365)) has not been his usual self during the 2014 clay court season, however he has still gained very good results as you would expect. His losses to Almagro and Ferrer where big upsets, but he still managed to defeat an injured Kei Nishikori to win the Madrid Masters. Nadal has an awesome record at Roland Garros and as ever will be very tough to beat over best of 5 set matches. He will grind and grind his opponents down. Novak Djokovic (7/4 Bet365)) won the Rome Masters last week. The Serbian is looking to take back his world number 1 from Rafa and if fully recovered from his injury lay off he could go well again at this year’s French Open. Novak is more than capable of fighting hard with Nadal on clay as he did in Rome, but that semi-final from last year which Nadal somehow won 9-7 in the 5th could stay in the back of the mind of the Serbian. Still Novak has had the better of his recent matches against Rafa and will be ver ...

the Australian Open draw is out!! (the bottom: Cake walk for Novak Djokovic up until the Quarters Ferrer and Berdych are in the same quarter, that's going to produce one boring semi-finalist who will die at the hands of Novak in the semi's. A doubles match with Rafa Nadal, David Nalbandian, Novak Djokovic and Juan Mónaco has also been added to the 23 November exo at La Rural.
Djokovic dominates Nadal with Tour Finals masterclass The message from Novak Djokovic could not have been more emphatic after the Serb retained his title at the ATP World Tour Finals with a crushing victory over Rafa Nadal on Monday. Nadal deservedly ends the year on top of the rankings after an incredible comeback from injury but Djokovic delivered an ominous show of force at the O2 Arena, running the man who replaced him as world number one ragged. It was a one hour, 36 minute masterclass in power and precision from Djokovic and if anything the 6-3 6-4 scoreline flattered Nadal, who spent most of the match dancing to his opponent's tune. After a week of sell-out crowds at the spectacular Thames-side arena it was fitting that the world's top two players should meet for the 39th time in the most prolific rivalry in the modern era and one that is eclipsing the great battles between Nadal and Roger Federer. Both players had won all their round-robin matches before cruising through Sunday's semi-finals. Nada ...

The ATP World Tour Tennis Finals start at the O2 in London today with Novak Djokovic and Rafa Nadal competing to end the year as World No1.
Djokovic denies Ferrer his second Paris title David Ferrer failed to hold on to the Paris Masters title he won last year, falling 7-5, 7-5 to Novak Djokovic in Sunday’s final. The world number three, who had overcome a run of nine straight defeats against compatriot Rafa Nadal in Saturday’s semifinal to be in with a chance of defending his crown, broke the Serbian’s serve in both sets but on each occasion was unable to hold on at the crucial moment of serving for the sets. It was a match that displayed both the virtues and limitations of the Alicante-born player. Firmly applying his tactic of maneuvering Djokovic into a corner to stop him from commanding the game and maintaining a fast rhythm, he ended up handcuffed when the Serbian started to take the game to his backhand and his parallel shots offered no solutions. Djokovic’s second win in Paris-Bercy clears up a few things about his race with Nadal to finish the year in the number one spot, which now moves on to the World Tour Finals, which beg ...

In the semi-finals of the Paris event - one of only three Masters titles the Spaniard has yet to win - Nadal faces local favourite Richard Gasquet who, along with Swiss Stanislas Wawrinka, have completed the ATP World Tour Finals line-up. Both players won their third-round matches at Bercy but it was Canadian Milos Raonic's defeat by Tomas Berdych that sent them into next week's season-ending showdown in London. They join Nadal, Novak Djokovic, David Ferrer, Juan Martin Del Potro, Berdych and Roger Federer in next week's showpiece. All eight reached the Paris Masters quarter-finals on Friday. World number two Djokovic and 17-times Grand Slam champion Roger Federer, who is ranked sixth, also advanced. Nadal, who has yet to win the Miami and Shanghai Masters either, broke decisively in the 11th game of the opening set and, after an early ...

Draw Done for Shanghai Rolex Masters: The Rolex Boutique and in particular the “Rolex Experience” on the historic Bund was the venue for the draw for the 2013 Shanghai Rolex Masters and it was an event that attracted some very special guests. The man who all others are compared to in tennis, the great legend Rod Laver was in attendance. He was joined on stage by the very popular Jo Wilfried Tsonga and by China’s No.1 Zhang (George) Ze. Then, at the very end, just as the draw was completed, appearing in front of the Rolex Crown logo Roger Federer appeared through the shadows. It was a moment greeted with gasps and applause as Federer made his way onto the stage to be greeted by the dignitaries. ESPN’s senior director of programming and acquisitions Jason Bernstein talking about TV Ratings in Tennis Matches. "It’s still such an individual sport that it depends on the player. Tennis can still be a challenge without a name-brand star."

memories. Novak Djokovic - Reuters During a fortnight of seismic shocks, scattered seeds and bandaged knees there remained a sense of inevitability that Novak Djokovic and Andy Murray would walk out on Centre Court to contest the Wimbledon final on Sunday. For the third time in the last four Grand Slams the two men born within a week of each other and whose careers have followed the same trajectory will go toe-to-toe for major silverware. Their rivalry is fast over-taking the one between Swiss great Roger Federer and Spanish warrior Rafa Nadal, whose early defeats in the tournament are already fading memories. World number one Djokovic leads their series 11-7 but they have never met at the Wimbledon championships and, despite the Serb's one title here in 2011, Murray is arguably the better grasscourt player, if only by a tiny margin. He beat Djokovic on Centre Court in the Olympic semi-finals last year, going on to claim gold against Federer. That breakthrough released the beast inside the 26-year-old Sco ...

Guess who? Djokovic, Murray and Serena lead unfamiliar cast Novak Djokovic, Andy Murray and Serena Williams will head a cast of fresh-faced hopefuls on Monday as Wimbledon heads into the second week which will be a Federer-free zone for the first time in 11 years. A second week which had promised back-to-back blockbuster matches after Murray, seven-times champion Roger Federer and 2008 and 2010 winner Rafa Nadal had been thrown together in the same half of the draw, will instead have a distinctly unfamiliar look to it following an unforgettable week of shocks. Gone are Federer, Nadal, Maria Sharapova and Victoria Azarenka - all former world number ones, all Grand Slam champions and who between them own 35 major trophies. Instead, the second week line-up includes an array of characters who had turned up at the All England Club expecting to play a supporting role but have been thrust into the limelight of a last-16 appearance. French duo Kenny de Schepper and Adrian Mannarino, Poland's Jerzy Janowicz, Italy ...
Novak Djokovic proved shock-proof as a sense of order was restored on Tuesday after the tremors that rumbled around Wimbledon on opening night following Rafa Nadal's defeat. A day that began with Belgium's Steve Darcis waking up as the sport's latest giant-slayer after his shock first round defeat of 12-times major champion Nadal on Monday, continued in far less dramatic fashion at the All England club. Djokovic outmanoeuvred Mayer, a player just outside the top 32 seeds and who he faced in the quarterfinals last year, for a 6-3 7-5 6-4 victory. Nadal's fourth-seeded compatriot David Ferrer, who he beat to win an eighth French Open, completed a far-from-memorable Centre Court programme with a 6-1 4-6 7-5 6-2 win against Argentina's Martin Alund despite several tumbles. Other men's seeds also flourished with Czech 2010 runner-up Tomas Berdych, Argentine 2009 US Open champion Juan Martin Del Potro, Germany's Tommy Haas and talented Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov all enjoying straight sets wins. Djokovic had not ...

5. Will Rafael Nadal avenge last year’s early loss? The former Wimbledon winner and recent victor at Roland Garros fell to Lukas Rosol last year in a second-round, five-set stunner. This year, he’s healthy – the knee’s better – and he’s back in winning form. He advanced to nine consecutive finals during the clay-court season and won seven. As the No. 5 seed, he’ll potentially face Federer in the quarter-finals, Murray in the semi-finals and Novak Djokovic in the final for the Wimbledon crown. But then again, if anyone can do the unthinkable and triumph against the odds, it’s probably a Spaniard called Rafa.
Novak Djokovic will be delighted with the 2013 Wimbledon draw.

IF TENNIS PLAYERS WERE BEATLES Roger Federer - John Lennon - leader, top dog for a long time, creative, lithe, artistic, visionary, right-handed, different from the rest Rafa Nadal - Paul Mccartney - more brash, left-handed, rival to John, very successful after The Beatles ended (after Fedal ended), strong, modest, charismatic, ruthless, dominating Novak Djokovic - George Harrison - became more famous later on, talented, complete, relaxed, engaging personality, funny, tactically brilliant, different diet (vegetarian/gluten free) Andy Murray - Ringo Starr - Nobody ever cared about him. :P -Chinmay-

RAFA NADAL defeated Novak Djokovic at their semifinals game in 5 sets at the French Open. Watch Rafa for the finals to vie for his 8th French Open Title at Roland Garros.
Not bad for a semi-final. Over 4hrs and 37mins, Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic fought out one of the finest matches in the history of the French Open, and showed why they are counted among the greatest warriors ever to play tennis.
I don't understand people commenting that Novak Djokovic has a bigger game than Rafa Nadal. Yes, he may hit a few shots harder; but RAFA can hit it just as hard and with more venom. Besides, what makes a tennis player GREAT is not about who can hit it harder. It's about who can mix up the shots, who is physically more fit, who can play the big points better, who is mentally more superior, and who has more Grand Slams on ALL surfaces. Novak still has a lot do to catch up in the Grand Slams department. RAFA NADAL, Roger Federer, Pete Sampras, Bjorn Borg are the greatest players ever.

Rafa Nadal's worst defeat on a claycourt for nine years offered ammunition to the naysayers but the Spaniard says his recovery from knee injury should be judged over time. The seven-times French Open champion's narrow loss to Argentine world No. 73 Horacio Zeballos in Vina del Mar on Sunday was rightly regarded as a shock as Nadal's defeats on clay over the past eight years can be counted on two hands. Even those rare reversals have come against players of the calibre of Roger Federer and, most notably Novak Djokovic in 2011 and the last time he lost to a player outside the world's top 20 on clay was five years ago in Rome when former world number one Juan Carlos Ferrero got the upper hand. You have to go back to Palermo in 2004, before Nadal had won his first French title, to find the Spaniard losing to one of the game's journeymen, Frenchman Olivier Mutis who was then ranked outside the top 100. Zeballos, who had never won a title before, played admirably but Nadal was clearly not firing on all cylinder ...
Rafa Fans - enjoy - its quite funny - people have short memories dont they - but us Rafa Fam does not ! 10 things about Rafa's return to tennis - from Wimbledon / BBC by Mark Hodgkinson Friday 8 February 2013 The Spaniard has been playing a clay-court event this week in Vina del Mar in Chile, his first event since last summer's Championships at Wimbledon. 1. The former Wimbledon champion has disclosed that last summer - when he would follow up his victory at the French Open by crossing the Channel and losing in the second round on the grass to Lukas Rosol - he felt as though he was playing the best tennis of his career. "What was difficult was that my knee let go at the best moment of my career," the Majorcan said in an interview with L'Equipe. "In 2012, I was really playing better than previous years. The Australian Open final last year against Novak Djokovic, even if I lost, it was great. And I went on to win Monte Carlo, Barcelona, Rome and Roland Garros. I was exploding on the court." 2. The New York ...
Davis Cup (tennis) Andy Murray unavailable for Great Britain's tie against Russia Andy Murray will play no part in Great Britain's Davis Cup tie with Russia due to clay court commitments. The US Open champion narrowly missed out on a second Grand Slam title in falling to Novak Djokovic in this month's Australian Open final - and is determined to begin the upcoming clay court season in style. "It's a shame to miss out on the Davis Cup, as I always enjoy playing," world number three Murray said. "I speak to (Great Britain captain) Leon Smith and the team on a regular basis and will definitely be available to play the next Davis Cup tie later this year." Murray, 25, has traditionally struggled to produce his best on clay and has reached the semi-finals of the French Open just once, when he was muscled out by Rafa Nadal in 2011. In his absence, Smith's Great Britain team will be bidding to reach the 16-nation World Group play-offs by surprising the Russians at Coventry's Ricoh Arena in the first week of April ...
Australian Open - ATP to discuss time-violation rule with players ATP chief Brad Drewett will meet with players to address concerns over a new rule aimed at speeding up the game that has drawn criticism from professionals on the men's tour. This year, the ATP are enforcing a regulation that gives players 25 seconds to serve the ball or face a warning and then the loss of a point for a second violation. The new rule has sparked complaints from players who have fallen foul of the law. Grand Slams have had a time limit of 20 seconds for a number of years but the rule is rarely enforced and top players like Rafa Nadal and Novak Djokovic regularly flout it with drawn-out preparations to serves. The new rule was endorsed by the ATP player's council last month but stricter enforcement at warm-up tournaments ahead of next week's Australian Open has raised concerns from players about a crackdown at the year's first Grand Slam where five-set matches in extreme heat often feature. Australian Open tournament director ...
