Ok so it's Ladies Day at Wimbledon but we have mens & ladies 4th round matches plus ladies quarter finals, who has a chance of lifting the trophy? I'm thinking Novak Djokovic or Andy Murray on the mens side and Eugenie Genie Bouchard or Maria Sharapova for the women, might keep my eye on Grigor Dimitrov though as well, watch this space as they say.

It's Manic Monday here at Wimbledon today and with Novak Djokovic, Andy Murray, Maria Sharapova and Serena's conqueror Alizé Cornet all in action, it should be a very interesting day at SW19.

Murray, Djokovic on semis collision course - 20 June 2014, 13:19 Defending champion Andy Murray and Novak Djokovic, the man he beat in 2013 to capture Britain's first Wimbledon title in 77 years, on Friday landed in the same half of this year's draw, leaving Roger Federer the biggest winner. Murray, who has been seeded three, could face top-seeded Djokovic in the last four while seven-time champion Federer, the fourth seed, is scheduled to renew his rivalry with world No 1 Rafael Nadal in the semifinals. But Nadal, the 2008 and 2010 champion, has been seeded second this year after losing in the first round in 2013 and getting knocked out in the second round 12 months earlier. The 28-year-old Spaniard, who won a ninth French Open earlier this month, has already expressed fears over whether or not his famously brittle knees will stand up to two weeks of grasscourt tennis. His mood will not have been helped by the draw which lined him up for a possible second round clash against big-hitting Czech Lukas Ros . ...

Congratulations Maria Sharapova for winning her second Roland Garros title! And tonight, it's Rafa Nadal's and Novak Djokovic's turn. Will Rafa win his ninth Roland Garros title? Or will Djokovic win his first? Catch the action LIVE on FOX Sports and FOX Sports Plus HD from 8:30pm (HKT)!
The French Open 2014 has reached the finals stage. The main attraction of the finals though is the greatest rivalry in modern tennis - World No1. Rafael Nadal Vs World No.2 Novak Djokovic. The duo have clashed for 41 times (the most in the open era), with Nadal leading 22-19 over Novak. As we know, the Spaniard is the KING OF CLAY, and has won 8 of the 9 French Opens that he participated. Out of 61 matches played till date, he has lost jus a single match against Robin Soderling in 2009. So, an amazing 60-1 W-L record. Can the Serbian tame the raging Spanish bull who is lookin for his 14th career Grand Slam and 9th French Open title??.. In my opinion, it wud be a BIG NO as evident from his performances in this tournament. But, anythng can happen on the day of final as we saw in the final of this yr's Aus open. But, all the above is on Sunday. Tomoro is the women's final between Russia's Maria Sharapova and Romania's Simona Halep. Simona is the current world no.4 and Sharapova world no.7, but the latter ha ...
Rafeal Nadal Flattens Andy Murray To Reach His Ninth French Open Final. World N0 1 Rafael Nadal rolled past Andy Murray in straight sets 6-3,6-2,6-1 to set up a final show down with arch rival and World N0 2 Novak Djokovic. The Spaniard wil be featuring in his ninth final at Roland Garros as the final against the Serbian promises to be an intriguing one.The pair will square up for the 42nd career meeting, with the top seed holding the head to head record 22-19. In the Women's section,it's Russian top seed Maria Sharapova up against a rising star Romanian World N0 4 Simona Halep.
And so Maria Sharapova will meet Simona Halep in the Women's Singles final. Tonight, it's the men's turn, with Ernests Gulbis taking on Novak Djokovic and Rafa Nadal meeting Andy Murray. Catch the action tonight from 7pm on FOX Sports and FOX Sports Plus HD!
At Roland Garros this week the men are providing some great entertainment with two great semi finals lined up. Rafael Nadal and Andy Murray will meet in perhaps the most intriguing match yet of the 2014 French Open. Nadal, ranked No. 1 and the reigning champion, takes on Murray, the comeback kid who wants to dethrone the King of Clay. On the surface, the other semifinal matchup between Novak Djokovic and Ernests Gulbis pits the over-achieving Serbian against Latvia's class clown, they enter this match seeking the same thing, something they have never accomplished before. While the ladies are not to be forgotten as a wild start has made way for a mostly scratch close. After early favorites bounced, other contenders have stepped up to fight for the crown, Maria Sharapova has taken over the title as the favorite, Sharapova will have to defeat upstart Eugenie Bouchard, who is in her second consecutive semi. Joining the two women on court will be No. 4 Simona Halep and No. 28 Andrea Petkovic. In International ...
We move into the semi's of the French Open with the Women's matches taking place tonight (11pm start) and the men's tomorrow. I will give a joint preview for both days matches. -Maria Sharapova ($1.30) vs Eugenie Bouchard ($3.45)- Bouchard goes up against her idol growing up. My head tells me Sharapova. Whilst I'm a bit biased towards her I think Bouchard can take it to Maria and send it to a 3rd set. SUGGESTED BET: Total games over 21.5 @ $1.90 -Simona Halep ($1.22) vs Andrea Petkovic ($4.15)- Petkovic proved me wrong yesterday but Halep looks very tough to beat at the moment and I think she'll continue her run of form. SUGGESTED BET: Halep @ $1.22 or Halep 2-0 @ $1.70 -Novak Djokovic ($1.10) vs Ernests Gulbis ($6.50)- Gulbis has had a terrific tournament beating Federer and Berdych in the last 2 round, however Djokovic is a different animal altogether. SUGGESTED BET: Having only dropped 1 set (in a tiebreak) this tournament I like Djokovic 3-0 @ $1.90 -Rafael Nadal ($1.14) vs Andy Murray ($5.50)- Murray ...

It's not beyond the realms of possibility that Jo-Wilfried Tsonga beats Novak Djokovic today. He's given him tough games before and you can never underestimate the power of that French Crowd. 5/1 is a very generous price in a tournament that has been filled with upsets. Ernests Gulbis is also very capable of beating Roger Federer today. The Latvian is dangerous and can take the racquet out of your hands. Roger is playing great but we're having a small piece of the 7/4. Sam Stosur is another who could cause an upset today. She faces Maria Sharapova and I just don't see Stosur losing right now. She looks so relaxed and we haven't seen any of the struggles closing out matches that we're used to. The hot weather will add to her big spinning serve and her game in general. Take the 3/1.

The draw has been set. The clay has been combed. All of the top players are in Paris. It's time for the French Open to begin. This year, the tournament feels a bit more up in the air than usual. Rafael Nadal still had the best clay season out of anyone, but it wasn't up to his lofty standards. The Spaniard only won one title, and lost in two straight quarterfinals to lower-ranked countrymen. Novak Djokovic beat him in the final of the Rome Masters last week to set up plenty of intrigue between the top two players in the world. On the women's side, Serena Williams is the favorite as always, but there are plenty of other contenders. Maria Sharapova continues her revival on clay, Simona Halep is looking to finally make a big move at a major and Ana Ivanovic has been turning the clock back to 2008, the year she won this tournament. As soon as the draws for major tournaments are released, fans look ahead to which players will be competing in quarterfinals and semifinals. However, this year's French Open will f ...

Mondays are always better when there are 16 fourth-round matches at the best tennis tournament in the world. Sadly, that day comes just once a year, which just happened to be today. From Serena Williams' jaw-dropping exit to safe wins for Novak Djokovic and Andy Murray, here's what you missed in case you were caught with a case of the - you guessed it! - Mondays. Match (and Upset) of the Day [23] Sabine Lisicki def. [1] Serena Williams 6-2, 1-6, 6-4 Four Roland Garros champions, four Sabine Lisicki wins. That's the incredible stat that the German world No.23 holds, having beaten the reigning French Open winner at Wimbledon the last four times she played here: 2010 against Francesca Schiavone, 2011 over Li Na, last year vs. Maria Sharapova and again today, beatin Williams in a terrific three-set encounter on Centre Court. It was a match that, while it started out in the big-hitting Lisicki's favour, looked as though it would be a Serena run-through as the American won the second set in 25 minutes and built ...
Guess who? Djokovic, Murray and Serena lead unfamiliar cast Novak Djokovic, Andy Murray and Serena Williams will head a cast of fresh-faced hopefuls on Monday as Wimbledon heads into the second week which will be a Federer-free zone for the first time in 11 years. Gone are Federer, Nadal, Maria Sharapova and Victoria Azarenka - all former world number ones, all Grand Slam champions and who between them own 35 major trophies. Instead, the second week line-up includes an array of characters who had turned up at the All England Club expecting to play a supporting role but have been thrust into the limelight of a last-16 appearance. Nadal puts the gentleman in gentlemen's singles LONDON (Reuters) - For Rafael Nadal dignity in defeat is a deeply held belief and, along with his arch rivals, the Spaniard has put the gentleman back into the gentlemen's singles at Wimbledon. Compare that with the catfight that broke out between Serena Williams and Maria Sharapova in the lead-up to the world's most famous tennis tournament. Nadal, who tumbled out of the championships in a straight sets defeat by Belgian journeyman Steve Darcis on the opening day, declined to blame his wounded knee despite persistent questioning at the post-match news conference. He doesn't do excuses. The Spaniard, like Roger Federer, Andy Murray and Novak Djokovic, is a great believer in mutual respect. The leading quartet on the men's circuit do not indulge in slanging matches. That prompted Latvian player Ernests Gulbis to complain in an interview with French newspaper L'Equipe last month that: "Tennis today badly lacks characters... all four of them are boring players. ...
Last Monday, the Wimbledon started at the fabled All England Lawn Tennis Club in London, England. This is the 3rd Grand Slam event for both the ATP/WTA and will run until July 7. For Wednesday, the second round action begins at the Centre Court with featured matches on both the men's and single's event. Second seed Victoria Azarenka will face Italy's Flavia Pennetta while third seed Roger Federer will go up against Ukraine's Sergiy Stakhovsky. Great Britain's hero Andy Murray would also have a match on this day. He will face Taipei's Yen-Hsun Lu at the No. 1 Court. Crowd darling and third seed Maria Sharapova will also play on Wednesday and face Portugal's Michelle Larcher De Brito. The sportsbook handicappers have installed Novak Djokovic and Serena Williams as the favorites to win the Wimbledon title in their respective events.
LONDON (AP) -- Back in her comfort zone on Centre Court, Serena Williams delivered an overpowering statement: When her serve is steaming, she's the woman to beat at Wimbledon. Putting aside her recent comments that led to a couple of apologies and a brief spat with Maria Sharapova, Williams looked every bit the five-time champion. She began her Wimbledon title defense with a 6-1, 6-3 victory over Mandy Minella of Luxembourg. ''For me, it's the greatest moment for a tennis player, to walk out on Centre Court,'' Williams said after her first match at Wimbledon since winning the Olympic gold medal there last year. ''That was such a great moment, too. So many great memories on this court.'' Top-ranked Novak Djokovic also opened with a straight-sets victory, beating Florian Mayer of Germany 6-3, 7-5, 6-4. Mayer is a two-time Wimbledon quarterfinalist, losing to Djokovic at that stage last year. But he was never in danger of springing another stunner following Rafael Nadal's first-round exit a day earlier. Djok ...
Serena Williams isn't the only one who was taking shots at Maria Sharapova heading into this week's Wimbledon. Novak Djokovic mocked the tennis star while playing a charity match against her boyfriend, Grigor Dimitrov earlier this week. Dimitrov laughed, and as for Sharapova, questions about his performance seemed to be a nice distraction from questions about William's comments about her personal life in a recent Rolling Stone article. "I loved it," she told Djokovic in front of reporters. "I don't do any of those things anymore. I don't stick my a-- out. I don't do this with my hair anymore, so obviously you haven't watched me play recently."
Congratulations Serena Williams, Novak Djokovic, David Ferrer, Juan Martin Del Potro and Laura Robson on your wins today.

Djokovic will now meet Rafael Nadal for a place in the final, and Mats believes the Serb stands a better chance of beating the Spanish clay-court master in the semis rather than in the championship game, as he explains in the video below: Mats also casts his expert eye over how Nadal won through, with a straight-set victory over Stanislas Wawrinka, and says the conditions suited the world number four: On the women's side, Maria Sharapova roared back from a terrible first set to beat Jelena Jankovic and book her place in the semi-finals; Mats gives his analysis of that match here: Sharapova will play Victoria Azarenka, who reached her first Roland Garros semi-final with victory over Maria Kirilenko. Highlights and Mats' analysis, notably of a marathon fi ...
What a day of tennis! My girl Maria Sharapova gave me a HUGE scare this morning when she lost the first set to Jelena Jankovic 0-6! She made a fantastic comeback and took the last two set 6-4, 6-3 to move on the semi-finals. In the semi-finals she will play Victoria Azarenka who beat Maria Kirilenko 7-6, 6-2. Rafael Nadal dominates the "other Swiss" Stanislas Wawrinka in straights and then Novak Djokovic beat the ageless Tommy Haas in straights as well.
Both Victoria Azarenka and Maria Sharapova had to endure tough first sets in their quarterfinal match-ups but both women prevailed and will meet each other in the semi-final. Sharapova commited an astonishing 20 Unforced Errors and dropped a bagel in her first set against Jelena Jankovic before finally winning the match -06, 6-4, 6-3. Meanwhile, Vika had to win her first set against former Doubles partner Maria Kirilenko in a tie-break 7-6 before cruising towards victory with a second set score of 6-2. The Women's Semi-Finals take place tomorrow. Next up are Rafa Nadal against Stanislas Wawrinka Official on Court Philippe Chatrier and Novak Djokovic against Tommy Haas on Court Suzanne Lenglen.
Today is the second day of the French Open quarter-finals. On the men's side Novak Djokovic tackles Tommy Haas and Rafael Nadal faces Stanislas Wawrinka, while on the women's side Jelena Jankovic plays Maria Sharapova and Maria Kirilenko is up against Victoria Azarenka. Who will you be backing?

Matches of the Day – Day 9 1. Novak Djokovic vs. Philipp Kohlschreiber It’s been something of a mixed bag at Roland Garros so far this year for top seed and world number one Novak Djokovic. The Serb was far too good for rising star Grigor Dimitrov in the third round, but did have some injury concerns regarding his right shoulder during the match. On top of that, Djokovic after the match learned of the death of his childhood coach, Jelena Gencic, and was too distraught to attend his post-match press conference. It remains to be seen whether Gencic’s death spurs Djokovic on in this tournament or represents an additional burden for the Serb to carry on his back. His opponent in the round of 16, Philipp Kohlschreiber, is a talented player and the sixteenth seeded German has beaten Djokovic at Roland Garros in the past. But that was before Djokovic established himself as the world’s leading player. I’ll back the top seed to turn tragedy into triumph in Paris this year. Djokovic in 3. 2. Rafael Nadal ...

The Big Four Grand Slams will obviously be the highlight of the calendar year in Tennis . Last season Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal, Roger Federer and Andy Murray all claimed one each. Will it be a return to a more dominant year for the Serb, Novak Djokovic though, with Nadal still struggling with fitness problems and Federer heading to the twilight years of his career? In the women’s category, can world number one Victoria Azarenka hold off the challenges of Serena Williams? Will Maria Sharapova make a bigger impact? The action starts mid January with the Australian Open, followed by the French Open in May, Wimbledon in July and the US Open to round off the Slam series in August. So much to look out for in the world of tennis in 2013.
