Residents of Owelle-Ebo Phase Two in Onitsha North Local Government Area of Anambra State have called on the Enugu Electricity Distribution Company (EEDC) to restore power in the area which has been lacking for the past three weeks. A resident of the area and the State Coordinator of the Nigerian Institute of Management, Dr. Johnson Anene attributed the prolonged power outage to the privatization of the Power Holding Company of Nigeria, which he said, has crippled socio-economic activities for residents of Owelle-Ebo Phase Two. He observed that when government was in-charge of power distribution, people of the area enjoy power supply especially during Christmas season and wondered why 2014 Christmas should come and go without them enjoying any atom of electricity. Dr Anene further appealed to the management of PHCN to come to the rescue of the residents so that they would join other people within Onitsha metropolis to enjoy electricity supply. Another resident Mr Andrew Ukandu urged Federal Government to ...

The article written by one Goddy Osuji titled ,” 2015 : The Battle for Ezza North/Ishielu Federal Constituency” published by Daily Sun Newspaper on 7th July, 2014 cast an inflammatory aspersion on Barr Ikeuwa Omebe, the immediate past Chairman of Ezza North Local Government Area. I had wanted not to react to Mr. Osuji’s accusational aspersion on the distinct achiever;Barr Ikeuwa Omebe but for the reason of honest record and for the sake of the reading public whose Mr. Osuji’s intention is to misguide, knowing fully well that write up is a mere figment of his imagination which is an aberration in the tenet of journalism profession, I make bold to say that Barr.
