US Pres. George Bush once said: Syria, Iran, North Korea are "Axis of Evil". Do you agree?
The greatest foreign policy tragedy of the last 25 years is not, as many conjecture, our misadventures into Iraq and Afghanistan, the Syrian debacle (as bad as that is), letting North Korea's megalomaniacal nut-balls get nukes, letting the Islamo-fascists in Pakistan get nukes, or even letting theocratic Iran get to the precipice of a nuke. The greatest tragedy, blunder, colossal misstep was not completely disarming the Soviet Union after its collapse in late December, 1991. We sent investment bankers into Moscow, instead of NATO troops. We should have decommissioned the entire Soviet nuclear arsenal as the price of peace, bailouts, and wholesale restructuring. Now, Putin has his nukes, his oil, his Olympics, and the cult of personality that allows him to openly spit venom at the U.S. while wantonly discriminating against *** and other minorities. I blame the weak and indecisive George Bush, Sr. for this failure to properly end the war. He clearly did not understand a lick of modern history. When the U.S ...
American terrorist 12 January 2004 Forget Hutton. He will not reveal what the US and UK authorities really don't want you to know: that radiation illnesses caused by uranium weapons are now common in Iraq. The disaster in Iraq is rotting the Blairite establishment. Blair himself appears ever more removed from reality; his latest tomfoolery about the "discovery" of "a huge system of clandestine weapons laboratories", which even the American viceroy in Baghdad mocked, would be astonishing, were it not merely another of his vapid attempts to justify his crime against humanity. (His crime, and George Bush's, is clearly defined as "supreme" in the Nuremberg judgment.) This is not what the guardians of the faith want you to know. Lord Hutton, who is due to report on the Kelly affair, will provide the most effective distraction, just as Lord Justice Scott did with his arms-to-Iraq report almost ten years ago, ensuring that the top echelon of the political class escaped criminal charges. Of course, it was not Hut ...
Undermining Geneva by Stephen Lendman Washington's longstanding imperial agenda remains unchanged. In his January 2002 State of the Union address, George Bush declared Iran, Iraq and North Korea "an axis of evil." He falsely claimed they "threaten the peace of the world." He lied saying Iran "aggressively pursues (WMDs) and exports terror, while an unelected few repress the Iranian people's hope for freedom." Obama repeatedly said Washington will "do what we must to prevent Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon." In recent weeks he said "we take no options off the table, including military options." Washington doesn't negotiate in good faith. Promises made are broken. Dozens of treaties and agreements were systematically violated. Trustworthiness isn't in America's vocabulary. It never was. It's not now. Obama broke every major promise made. Throughout his tenure, he's pursued regime change in Iran. Believing he altered policy requires a giant leap of faith. On Sunday, he briefed Netanyahu on Geneva. A Whi ...
The Mouse That Roared Kim Jung Un, the young, impetuous behaviorally challenged leader of North Korea recently made a series of threats to the United States and South Korea in response to United Nations-imposed sanctions due to Un-Kim’s nuclear ambitions. The portly protégé has scoffed at the U.N mandate for his strange, secretive and sneaky country to curtail its nuclear weapons program and allow inspectors from the International Atomic energy Agency access to various facilities. Un has, in fact, made clear that North Korean scientists are going to build a nuclear missile powerful enough to reach the shores of his sworn enemy, the United States. One would think that even the Pudgy Playboy of the East would know better than to lay a direct threat on a country with the world’s largest and most powerful military apparatus and knows just what to do with it. But Un-Kim does not seem the least bit intimidated and I think I know why, in fact, I can sum it up in two words – George Bush. Even this bra ...
Subject: Time for George Bush to step aside A liberal Denver Post Aurora Sentinel opinion piece by lifelong Democrat Chuck Green. It is time that we asked George Bush to step aside so that Obama can get his presidency going. Here's an opinion piece by Chuck Green who writes "Greener Pastures" for the Denver Post Aurora Sentinel...one of the more liberal papers in the country. Additionally, Mr. Green is a lifelong Democrat...so this is rather a stunning piece... Obama is victim of Bush's failed promises! Barack Obama is setting a record-setting number of records during his first term in office: Largest budget ever. Largest deficit ever. Largest number of broken promises ever. Most self-serving speeches ever. Largest number of agenda-setting failures ever. Fastest dive in popularity ever! Wow! Talk about change. Just three years ago, fresh from his inauguration celebrations, President Obama was flying high. After one of the nation's most inspiring political campaigns, the election of America 's first black ...
Yes, it's all George Bush's fault! President Obama is nothing more than a puppet in the never-ending failed Bush administration. If only George Bush wasn't still in charge, all of President Obama's problems would be solved. His promises would have been kept, the economy would be back on track, Iran would have stopped its work on developing a nuclear bomb and would be negotiating a peace treaty with Israel . North Korea would have ended its tyrannical regime, and integrity would have been restored to the federal government. Oh, and did I mention what it would be like, if the Democrats, under the leadership of Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid, didn't have the heavy yoke of George Bush around their necks? There would be no ear marks, no closed-door drafting of bills, no increase in deficit spending, no special-interest influence (unions), no vote buying ( Nebraska , Louisiana ).
" George Bush was wrong. The Axis of Evil doesn't run through Iraq, or Iran or North Korea. It runs through our dining tables. Weapons of Mass Destruction are our knives and forks. " ~ Philip Wollen
N. Korea Preps Nuke Test Nothing new in this. A test has been expected for some time. What's cool about is the Republicans can hang this around Obama and the Democrats necks. North Korea has almost finished preparations for a third test of its nuclear capabilities, a source close to the operation has revealed. The news comes just weeks after another failed rocket launch that intensified hostilities between the impoverished regime and the United States. This is the first time a senior official has confirmed a planned test; previous tests happened in 2006 and 2009. No doubt N Korea wants some of that gold Iran is getting or oil. Funny how this stupid crap of sanctions always comes back and bites us instead of the intended party. Yeah, N Korea and Iran have been partners in crime for a long time now. They used to play George Bush and Bill Clinton like a violin, and now they are doing it to Obama.
