North Battleford is a small city in west central Saskatchewan, Canada. It is directly across the North Saskatchewan River from the town of Battleford. Elderly Woman Seriously Assaulted In Dillon Thursday, 04 July 2013 00:12 RCMP are investigating a serious incident in Dillon. On June 28th a man allegedly broke into the residence of a 72 year-old woman and attacked her. RCMP got the call around 3:00 in the morning. The victim as taken to hospital in Île-à-la-Crosse with non-life threatening injuries. Mounties aren’t giving details about the incident, other than to say it was violent. Sergeant Paul Dawson says other agencies have been called in to lend a hand: “We have our members from North Battleford forensics as well as the Prince Albert general investigation section assisting the members in Dillon." The suspect is described as an adult, aboriginal male with short hair and a stocky build. Dawson reminds residents they can provide information to the RCMP without giving their name. They can either call the detachment or Crimestoppers.

Well Serena, Barret and I made it home from North Battleford. Made it to Prince Albert just when they took the road signs off for Highway 2 closure - so no detours for us - still is a very long trip with grumpy children. I just wanted to speed but it would not have made the trip any faster.
My this has been a busy time. First, congratulations to Janette and Jamie wiggins on the birth of their third son, also to extended family. We are in Calgary and all is okay where we are. We do have some of Roberta's family(niece and 2 little girls) who were evacuated from High River and will be staying for a day or two or three or? lots of water. At this rate we may have to go home via Edmonton and Yellowhead hwy. in any case thanks to all for your concern but we are in a safe place. Plan on returning next Wed. Had great visits in Kinistino, Prince Albert, North Battleford, Thorhild, Edmonton and Calgary,oops sorry Amber, also Melfort. We joined Joyce and Larry in Melfort SK. It has travelled to Newfoundland (Corner Brook, Bonavista and St. John's), Quebec (Pointe-Claire), and Saskatchewan ( North Battleford and Prince Albert). To this point, it has been seen by over 22,000 people and Moose Jaw is its final destination. Campbell Tinning, who is the only Saskatchewan-born official Canadian War Artist, fell in love with Newfoundland when he was briefly posted there in 1943. He did go back in 1949, the year that the people of Newfoundland voted to join Canada. His view of this fascinating place and a sampling of his artmaking career are the focus of this exhibition.
