If I could have lunch with 3 people they'd be Carl Sagan, Stephen Hawking, and either Johannes Kepler or Nikola Tesla
I should not get as emotional as I do when I think about Albert Einstein, Nikola Tesla, Stephen Hawking, and Carl Sagan.
When asked recently if I have a hero or people I greatly admire, I had to think for a while as there are so many... But here is my list which, if given a while longer would include many more! Please comment with your own lists if you wish... Firstly: My great grandmother, Eugenia Miskolczy, a suffragette and independent politician who died at age 75 at the hands of the Hungarian fascists (the Arrow Cross) in October 1944, giving away not one single name of her adopted Communist Party though she was tortured twice, dying the second time... Theodore Roosevelt, for the National Parks FDRoosevelt for both the New Deal and the Conservation Corps Martin Luther King for human rights Albert Einstein for his humanity Charles Darwin, Nikola Tesla, Stephen Hawking, Carl Sagan, Erwin Schrodinger, James Clerk Maxwell, Neil deGrasse Tyson, Lynn Margulis, Archimedes, Nikolaus Copernicus, Leonardo daVinci, Rudolf Christian Karl Diesel, and David Bohm for their contributions to science and society. members of Greenpeace m ...
Are you a bit different? Don't always fit in? Bigger imagination than others perhaps, so maybe you didn't always make friends easily? Dare I say it, a 'Freak'. Well, don't be sad, so am I. But I'm gonna let you in on a little secret. Here's a list of other "freaks:"Albert Einstein, Pablo Picasso, Stephen Hawking, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Stephen King, Steven Spielberg, Leonardo Da Vinci, Michel de Nostredame, Nikola Tesla...and oh yeah, Jesus Christ! You're not weird, or odd or less. Quite the opposite; you're better. You have something special inside of you; the fire of imagination. The ability to rise above the mundane and the normal. You'll always be different, but your not alone. You have a special magic inside of you; your gifted. You won't always fit in, you won't always feel like you don't 'belong', but you'll always be a uniquely gifted, special person; able to create and destroy entire worlds within your mind. I ask you, does popularity and "fitting in" compare to THAT? How can it?! Be proud. Yo ...
Watch out any time you see these on a website: Ancient knowledge, ancient wisdom, statements that ancient people believed or knew about this, or that it's stood the test of time. To test whether an idea's true, we test whether it's true; we don't ask if ancient people believed it. Claims of suppression by authorities, an old dodge to explain away why you've never heard of this before. The biggest red flag of all is that somebody "Doesn't want you to know" this, or "What doctors won't tell you". Anything that sounds too good to be true probably is. Miraculously easy solutions to complicated problems should always set off your skeptical radar. Is the website dedicated to promotion or sales pertaining to a particular product or claim? If so, you're probably reading a sales brochure disguised as a research report. Be especially aware of websites that cite great, famous, well-known names as their inspiration. Albert Einstein, Nikola Tesla, and Stephen Hawking are three of the most abusively co-opted names in h ...
Let's have a scholastic lesson, kids. The people on the left you may not know, but you absolutely should. If you know more about popular "culture" and mass-low intelligence-entertainment, and have little to no understanding of secular knowledge (the sciences, the humanities, etc.), then you're the 'Average American'. And the average American is most certainly one of this planet's largest (pun sort of intended) problems. Stephen Hawking - Marie Curie - Nikola Tesla - Albert Einstein - Sigmund Freud - Neil deGrasse Tyson - Galileo Galilei - Isaac Newton - Carl Sagan - Charles Darwin (Read -- LEARN! It's good for you, it's good for my planet.)
