Nick Swisher & Raul Ibanez

Nicholas Thompson Nick Swisher (born November 25, 1980) is an outfielder and first baseman for the New York Yankees. Raúl Javier Ibáñez (born June 2, 1972, in New York, New York) is an outfielder with the New York Yankees of Major League Baseball. 5.0/5

Nick Swisher Raul Ibanez Curtis Granderson Eric Chavez Derek Jeter Russell Martin Robinson Cano Alex Rodriguez Ichiro Suzuki Andruw Jones Mariano Rivera Rafael Soriano Andy Pettitte Russel Martin Hiroki Kuroda New York Mark Teixeira New York Yankees

Ex-Yankees in the playoffs include Nick Swisher (Indians) and A.J. Burnett and Russell Martin (Pirates). All Martin did tonight was homer twice in the wild-card game against Cincinnati. Maybe the Yankees should have prevented Martin, Swisher, and Raul Ibanez from riding the free agent train out of town last winter.
Raul Ibañez and Nick Swisher are two others.
God Love my mother... she has sad some odd stuff during Yankee games this season such as "Nick Swisher when did he start playing for the Indians?" "Raul Ibanez...why is he in a Seattle uniform? Thought he played for the Yankees! why did they ever let him go?" ...Today she topped it... "Yogi Berra he's dead isn't he?" .SMH!! Happy Old Timer's day all!!
this year is going to be different with the new roster i wish Raul Ibanez & Nick Swisher will come back to New York they had power
At least the Yankees have backup First Basemen Raul Ibanez, Eric Chavez and Nick Swisher on the roster. Oh wait...
My *** A-Rod, Derek Jeter, Curtis Granderson, Mariano Rivera, Raul Ibanez, & Nick Swisher injured..smh hope my team get better soon
YANKEES-Robinson Cano planted the kiss of death on the Yankees as he becomes a free agent at the end of the year. Cano is letting it be known that his next contract is all about money. Meaning get out your checkbook Mr Steinbrenner. ( just a thought, perhaps the Yankees who seem to have been holding back on contracts for its players this year, are saving their money for Cano.) The Yankees who have no leverage in the negotiations for Cano may lose their chance of re-reigning Curtis Granderson and Phil Hughes next year if Cano's negotiators stick to their $189million ceiling. Cano, 30, is in his prime is the hub of the Yankees' lineup. Alex Rodriguez who has been disgraced, is invisible, Derek Jeter turns 39 this year. Nick Swisher is gone, so are Raul Ibanez and Russell Martin. And Mark Teixeira is in a slow, steady decline. Cano is the one offensive player who is in the sweet spot of his career making him irreplaceable. Cano is a Boras client, which means their intent is to maximize the negotiating mark . ...
"The lineup has lost a good deal of thump, with players like Nick Swisher, Russell Martin, Raul Ibanez and Eric Chavez deleted from last year's squad..." The reality of this is really setting in now and reading this has ruined my day!
Regina, Sara, Jessica, Jack, Darryl, & Lernard. Joe G. saying the Bronx Bombers can win 95 games & the World Series this year. Ummm, Joe, look at thé team...old pitching staff...Didnt get King Felix, can CC, Pettite, Kudora, Nova, Rivera stay healthy, no Rafael Soriano, no Andruw Jones, no Eric Chavez, no Nick Swisher, no Raul Ibanez, no Alexander Rodriguez, will Captain Deter Jeter be Jeter of last year before injury, can Tex be consistent, how good will Granderson eyes be, can Gardner stay healthy, no Russell Martin.
Raul Ibanez has signed with the Seattle Mariners, his former team. Ibanez played a significant role with the New York Yankees last year and was one of the most valuable players in the playoffs. Thanks to New York's management in trying to cut costs, trying to stay at a $189 million budget, the Yankees are unable to sign much of their free agents this year. Russel Martin, Eric Chavez, Nick Swisher, maybe Rafael Soriano and now Raul Ibanez have all signed with other teams even though they played a significant role in the 2012 Yankees. Andruw Jones is also a Yankee who has signed elsewhere but he didn't pan out well towards the end with his cold streak at the plate.
Nick Swisher to the Indians. Raul Ibanez to the Mariners. 2 former Yankees gone. Bombers have made very little noise this off-season
The Yankees have now lost Raul Ibanez to the Mariners, and Nick Swisher to the Tribe. They have also gained Youk. How would you rate their offseason so far?-Dylan
BREAKING NEWS! OF NICK Swisher agrees to sign with the Cleveland Indians OF/DH Raul Ibanez signs a 1yr. deal with the Seattle Mariners
The Philadelphia Phillies are expecting to take a look at Nick Swisher and Raul Ibanez.
The New York Yankees have excercised the 2013 contract options for Robinson Cano ($15 million), Curtis Granderson ($15 million) and David Aardsma ($500,000 thousand)...but the Yankees still have big-time free agent decisions to make, with players such as Andy Pettitte, Mariano Rivera, Nick Swisher, Ichiro Suzuki, Russell Martin, Hiroki Kuroda, Raul Ibanez and Eric Chavez...and gotta see what Rafael Soriano will do with the club option or still lots to look at for the Yankees organization...NYY
New York Yankees - "No surprises here, but the Players Association has announced its full list of 137 players who filed for free agency this morning. They become eligible to negotiate with any team at 12:01 am ET on Saturday. For now, there is an exclusive negotiating window with each free agent’s former team. These are the 12 Yankees who filed. Eric Chavez, Pedro Feliciano, Freddy Garcia, Raul Ibanez, Andruw Jones, Hiroki Kuroda, Derek Lowe, Russell Martin, Andy Pettitte, Mariano Rivera, Ichiro Suzuki, Nick Swisher."
Honestly now looking at it if we had beaten Detroit in the ALCS to be in the series I think the Giants would have beaten us I really do. Derek Jeter uninjured would cause problems for the Giants, Alex Rodriguez well writing is on the wall strike out fodder the same applies to Robinson Cano and Mark Teixera and Nick Swisher them going up against the likes of Zito, Lincecum and Vogelsong but I think A-ROD would have gotten 1 maybe a few base hits yes I still believe :P Raul Ibanez he's our clutch hitter this post season I can see him slamming in a homer Ichiro if used correctly we all know what he can do O.O Pitching well were beat they got our # reasons being Chamberlain, Soriano and Pettite wont do it Mariano is injured, CC is our reliable main man as well as Kuroda.
I'm no expert, but it seems to me that if an employee earns millions of dollars a year for their abilities they should be expected to perform. And since it's major belt-tightening season across America, maybe the Yankees should take a cue from the Federal government. Sure, keep Ichiro, Jeter, Texeira, Raul Ibanez and probably Robinson Cano (despite his horrific post-season performance), but it's time to seriously consider unloading high payroll driftwood like Alex Rodriguez, Nick Swisher, Curtis Granderson and Russel Martin, who all are playing strictly for themelves, trying to be heroes with a mighty swing of the bat and seem to have lost their team spirit. To completely blow it in the playoffs after a tremendous regular season is unforgiveable. Boo Yankees. I should have gone back to rooting for my childhood heroes the Baltimore Orioles this year. At least those guys had heart.
Robinson Cano , Ichiro , Nick Swisher , Curtis Granderson , Chavez, Raul Ibanez , Andruw Jones , - just too name a few Free agents for the Yankees next year
Whats up with the Yankee's, they can't even buy a hit. Are you kidding me, Anibal Sanchez comes into Yankee Stadium and throws a shutout in a playoof atmosphere. This stadium has no aura, like the old. It's a high end food court, thats it. Yankees batting averages Jason Nix 500 Raul Ibanez 429 Derek Jeter 333 out of post season Mark Texeira 333 Ichiro Suzuki 310 Russel Martin 227 Curtis Granderson 130 Nick Swisher 130 Alex Rodriguez 105 Robinson Cano 071 REPEAT Robinson Cano 071 How come he didn't get pinch hit for YANKEE BUMS 2 losses at the famous Yankee Stadium and they still haven't faced Verlander yet.
A-Rod is too old, Cano is stone cold, Granderson is completely lost and Nick Swisher can just smile. Then Jeter broke his ankle. 2012 Yankees you had one of the gustiest pitching staffs in 10 years. Ichiro Suzuki and Raul Ibanez you became my favorite players since Hideki Matsui and Johnny Damon. CC Sabathia you are now a Yankees legend. Good night sweet Yankees, I cannot watch three more games of half the order flaying horribly at any pitch.
Yankees line-up yesterday: Russell Martin: acquired from the Dodgers. Mark Texeira: acquired from the Angels. Eric Chavez: acquired from the A's. Ichiro Suzuki: acquired from the Mariners. Curtis Granderson: acquired from the Tigers. Nick Swisher: acquired from the White Sox. Raul Ibanez: acquired from the Phillies. Sabathia: acquired from the Brewers. Players on the field developed by the Yankees themselves: two, Jeter and Cano. Best sport ever, IMO. But the economics are ugly, ugly, ugly.
I would like to congratulate Raul Ibanez. He has now passed Nick Swisher on my most hated 2012 Yankees.
"I mean basically it was the Raul Ibanez and CC Sabathia show." No one says it better than Nick Swisher.
One lousy at bat notwithstanding, Raul Ibanez should have been in this game from the very beginning. He had much better numbers against Joe Saunders than either Curtis Granderson or Nick Swisher, who went a collective 0-8 tonight. I am also disappointed that the Yankees didn't double-switch Ibanez into the game, replacing Nick Swisher in the field and having Derek Jeter take over at shortstop. Yes, the Yankees would lose their DH, but they have enough prospective pinch-hitters, including but not limited to CC Sabathia, to manage that situation. Instead, we have seen the last of Raul Ibanez's clutch-hitting this game.
Why is Raul Ibanez on the bench? And why is Nick Swisher in the lineup? 0-6 w. 5 K's vs. Gonzalez and a playoff abomination.
Joe Girardi is a numbers guy.hey Joe, Eric Chavez is 3 for 6 (.500 BA) with one HR and 3 RBI's against Oriole starter Miguel Gonzalez.Reason to START him TONITE as DH! with Raul Ibanez in Right for Nick Swisher!
Should Joe Girardi consider benching Alex Rodriguez + Nick Swisher in favor of Eric Chavez and Raul Ibanez? What does everything think?
My lineup in the postseason: 1. Derek Jeter 2. Ichiro Suzuki 3. Robinson Cano 4. Curtis Granderson 5. Nick Swisher 6. Alex Rodriguez 7. Mark Teixeira 8. Raul Ibanez 9. Francisco Cervelli Just because they are paid the most should not affect where the bat in the lineup if the goal is to win games. Dont know how thats arguable
Nick Swisher dished out some hard-hitting analysis last night on why Raul Ibanez is having so much success lately: "Raul is just so cool."
Seeing David Aardsma here, Nick Swisher proclaimed in the Yankees dugout, "Aardsma, Ichiro, Raul Ibanez, we're the New York Mariners.''

Any Yankee hatter upset the Yankees added Ichiro, let's remember he's 38, we don't know how hurt Nick Swisher is, it only cost them 2 minor league pitchers, and financially the Yankees only have to pay 2 million right now. If Ichiro comes out of his funk and starts hitting even relatively close to where he used to (hard to imagine he'll ever again get 200 hits a year, especially batting 8th and with Andruuw Jones and Raul Ibanez doing a capable, Brett Gardner expected back at some time and Swisher eventually recovered), but Brian Cashman once again shows why he is the top Executive in MLB.
Dewayne Wise is pinch-running for Nick Swisher. Raul Ibanez is pinch-hitting for Andruw Jones.
Erick Aybar, Kendreys Morales, Nick Swisher, and Raul Ibanez ALWAYS have fat lips in! Lol

To Nick Swisher: I am a Mets fan. I don't hate Derek Jeter or Granderson or even Raul Ibanez (after tonight) but I hate you. I hope you die.
Martin hits slam, Pettitte dominant for Yanks New York (AP)—Russell Martin hit a grand slam to help stop the Yankees’ struggles with the bases loaded and Andy Pettitte was dominant again at home, leading New York to a 7-0 victory over the Tampa Bay Rays on Tuesday night. Nick Swisher hit an RBI double after Raul Ibanez was walked intentionally and the Yankees treated Rays starter James Shields to another drubbing in the Bronx. Pettitte (3-2) pitched two-hit ball for 7 1-3 innings, striking out 10 in New York’s ninth win in 12 games. Shields (6-4) was sabotaged early by the Rays’ ever-shifting defense as New York scored two unearned runs in the first thanks to an error by shortstop Elliot Johnson. The Rays made three errors in the game. The Yankees returned home from a 6-3 road trip to beat the Rays for the third time in four meetings since Tampa Bay swept a season-opening three-game series. The Rays have been in first or second in the division for most of the season despite having several key inju ...
