Western Australia is CULLING SHARKS. The sharks do not belong to WA! "Populations of white sharks of South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, and the South Pacific are connected. Both genders regularly return to the same sites and also make oceanic excursions (11,12), e.g. from South Australia to Tasmania and New Zealand (13). Juvenile and adult sharks can traverse whole oceans, e.g. from South Africa to Western Australia (14), from New Zealand to Vanuatu and Queensland (12,15)." --SA was one of the 1st countries in the world recognising the importance of the great white sharks in our waters. We protected them in the 90s! ..so this can (will) have an impact of delicate (already threatened) marine eco-systems NOT only in W.Australian waters, but very well in my big-blue-green backyward - False Bay and beyond.

"Original States" shall mean such States as are parts of the Commonwealth at its establishment
Australia &New Zealand in Prophecy Historical Background by Craig White-”Australia’s genesis is rather unique. This great nation began as a penal colony when the first fleet arrived under Captain Arthur Phillip on 18 January 1788. The colony itself was established at Sydney Cove on 26 January which is commemorated as Australia Day - a national holiday. Soon a way was found to explore the inland areas. New settlements were established along the coast, in Tasmania, Western Australia (1829), South Australia (1836), Victoria (1851) and Queensland (1859). With the discovery of gold in 1851, an enormous influx of migrants occurred with the ensuing increase in investment, capital and business opportunities and the prosperity of the various states on the continent began to boom. For instance, Australia possesses some of the wealthiest deposits of mineral resources in the world. This continent has come a long way over the past 200 years – a relatively bare continent with few mountains, rivers and lakes, it i ...

The term continued to be used up until 1981, when the Br...
Some ice skating friends of Lesley who live in America provided the following really detailed comments on their visits to Australia and New Zealand. Our experience in Oz came with two extended stays in the Adelaide and the Barossa Valley area of South Australia, including a motor trip across Victoria and New South Wales via the coast, Melbourne to Sydney, and side trips to a sheep ranch in the outback, Kangaroo Island off the S.A. coast, and an atoll about 60 miles off the coast at Brisbane in the Great Barrier Reef, via a single-engine float-plane.  After that to the South Island of N.Z.  Everywhere we went was a fantastic experience – always something new including views of the Southern Cross which we northern hemispheric folk don’t get to see.    South Australia and the Barossa:  Not only is this the setting of my current novel, and where we very nearly came to live until we realized it was a half a world away from everything we had come to know and everyone we had learned to love, it is a de ...
Angels of Mercy, by Chris Schoeman After the outbreak of the Anglo-Boer War, hundreds of women left their countries for South Africa, some in search of adventure, others with a genuine desire to help the victims of war. They came from all over the world – from Britain and its colonies, and from pro-Boer countries in Europe. But, whatever their origins, they all came to live and work under harsh conditions that were foreign to them. Angels of Mercy tells the story of twelve of these brave women. Hailing from England, the Netherlands, Belgium, Sweden, Canada, Australia and New Zealand, some worked as nurses on the frontline, while others came to teach Boer children in the concentration camps. Based on personal diaries and letters, as well as other wartime sources, this fascinating and inspiring book tells of their trials and tribulations as they dealt with the dangers of war, the extremes of the environment, and the sad eyes of the dying men under their care. Theirs are stories of compassion and courage. ...

Sehwag had made only 253 runs in seven innings during the home series against England last year, 117 of those coming in one innings in Ahmedabad. He also failed to score a half-century in two home Tests against New Zealand. On India's last overseas assignment, in Australia, Sehwag made 198 runs in eight innings. After the two remaining matches against Australia, India have no more Tests scheduled before their trip to South Africa at the end of the year. Dravid said there was also the option of moving Sehwag to the middle order, and if that was the case, then India should blood the replacement opener in home conditions before taking him to face the new ball in South Africa. The reserve opener in the squad for the first two Tests against Australia was Delhi batsman Shikhar Dhawan.

County news Gloucs bring in Klinger as captain Gloucestershire have ended their search for anew captain by agreeing terms with Michael Klinger, the experienced Australian top-order batsman, who will be available for the entire 2013 season. Last season Gloucestershire finished bottom of the County Championship for the ninth time in their history, prompting Alex Gidman to step down. With very little experience on their playing staff, the county looked overseas for a new appointment and were keen to find a player available for the entire season - ruling out both New Zealand batsman Kane Williamson and Australia opener Ed Cowan, who were both initial targets following previous stints at the club. Klinger's availability, experience and ability are a rare combination. He has enjoyed a successful career since moving to South Australia from Victoria in 2008. A mediocre average of 26.44 since his debut in 2000 prompted a move away from his home state and he has since averaged 47.37 with eight centuries in four sea ...
I have in my possession a dictionary dated 1896 and I have a special quote for my Kiwi cousins. The supplement in the back of the dictionary has facts about Australia, and I quote . The population of the seven colonies of Australia, which comprise the provinces of NSW, Victoria, Queensland, South Australia (including the Northern Territory), Western Australia and the islands of Tasmania and New Zealand. Anand has sighted this, so I have proof I have not made it up. I have, however, decided for peace in my family I am donating this book to a friend who is a historian!
