New York City & Ground Zero

New York is the most populous city in the United States and the center of the New York Metropolitan Area, one of the most populous metropolitan areas in the world. The term ground zero (sometimes also known as surface zero as distinguished from zero point) describes the point on the Earth's surface closest to a detonation. 5.0/5

Great 3rd day in New York City today...started off with a coffee and bagel from Dunkin donuts, train ride into Grand Central Station to see the awesome architecture of the station, saw the radio city rockettes perform the Christmas spectacular(mind blowing show), walked around timesquare and rockafella plaza and mouth was open while time, Went into Hershey store, Disney store where huddy had a ball, and just took in the amazing city and didn't even make a dent... Had lunch at Applebee's where I'm sill getting my head around the tips things but getting there... Looking forward to going back in Thursday- Saturday and seeing ground zero and Liberty Island... Weather is well bloody cold too lol...
Lessons learned from a trip to New York City: 1. Express beats local any day if the week. 2. Times Square is cool and all but. 3. A two hour bus tour around the boroughs kicks major butt. 4. Wanting to see and having to see are two different things. 5. Why? Because you HAVE to go to Ground Zero. Otherwise you haven't really seen New York City. 6. The Staten Island Ferry is cool. 7. Apparently a New Yorkers version of "five minutes away" is significantly different then mine. 8. New York pizza is THE best. 9. People are strange. 10. And Finally, watching two first timers in NYC is just about priceless, especially when one of them is Nancy Krause. Pics to come.
GOOD READ *** And with the current added TREATS TO AMERICA BOTH TERRORIST AND SICKNESSES he has caused ... with his dragging of feet for the enemy, blame games, deceit, lie's, Border UN-security and infiltration, misuse of U.S. military personnel, denial and ignorance of threats, etc. A REALLY SHOULD READ !!! OBAMA IS A TRAITOR ... Exclusive: by Larry Klayman Barack Hussein Obama, our president, is a traitor. Finally, his hatred for our nation and his plan to destroy it are crystal clear. He must be forced from office — legally — before our entire country goes down the drain for the final count! Much has gone on in the last three years to show Obama's true colors, sympathetic not to Judeo-Christians values and culture, but Islam and its surrogate-controlled states. First there was his canceling the White House National Day of Prayer and instead feasting the Muslim holiday of Ramadan — using the latter as an occasion to to endorse the building of a mosque at Ground Zero in New York City. Then he refu ...

13 Year's ago we lost hundreds of American Folks in 9/11. Let's not forget the folks we lost and prey for their love ones. It was a year ago that I visit New York City, thanks to my best friend Mel who made it all possible for me to see Ground Zero. I was getting over a sickness, I was sleepy for being awake half of the night in the plane as I started to freak out being in the air lol and we were on a tight busy schedule. It was a sad memorial for me to visit and said a silent prayer for the ones who has passed and the love ones they left behind in earth.

The foundation’s mission is to improve public safety in New York City while promoting the excellence in the NYPD. RUSSIAN 9/11 DATA DUMP REVEALS STATE ACTORS “9/11 was an Anglo-American black operation executed in collusion with Israeli Secret Services.” — 9/11 Investigator Undoubtedly the 9/11 attacks on New York City and Washington DC are the most misrepresented by officialdom in US history. Whereas the assassination of John F. Kennedy is now understood to have been a classic CIA Public Execution Plan, it does not come close to 9/11 in terms of the number and magnitude of outright falsehoods, misleading statements, fake science and fraudulent facts submitted by officials and agents of the US Government. The ‘official’ 9/11 Commission Report stands as the most fabricated document ever produced by US tax dollars. Not only did the investigation avoid every serious inquiry about how two steel frame building came down after being dustified in NYC, it also subverted every initiative to ferret out the truth. It appears that Russia has been conducting systematic data dumps on 9/11, the release of which represen . ...

9-11 Memorial Museum & ONE World Trade Center RISE AGAIN – The Museum opened to general public at Ground Zero on May 15 in New York City. The fire helmet belonging to Dan Potter, a surviving firefighter, is displayed at the museum along with other memorabilia.
New York City, New York, USA (Reuters) - President Barack Obama led an emotional dedication on Thursday of a museum that commemorates the traumatic events of Sept. 11, 2001, built on the "ground zero" site of the Twin Towers that fell that day.
The new Sept. 11 museum at ground zero in New York City opens to the public next Wednesday. I was out at Ground Zero in December of 2005 and October of 2013. I was amazed by how much it had chanced. In '05 it was nothing but a big hole in the ground, NOW it's been transformed into one of the most beautiful places I've ever seen! It has such a still, quietness to it even though it's in the middle of one of the biggest cities. Crews were hard at work putting the museum together while we were there. I'd really like to make the trip back out there and see the museum soon! God bless the Men and Women who gave their lives that day!!

I heard about "ground zero." This is the exact spot where New York City's Twin Towers used to stand. They now call it 9/11 Memorial. It's consists of two massive pools set within the original footprints of the Twin Towers with 30-foot waterfalls cascading down their sides. The nearly 3,000 names of the men, women, and children killed in the attacks are inscribed into bronze parapets surrounding the twin Memorial pools. In a single moment these 3,000 people lost their lives. They have no idea that on that day of September 11 will be their last day. There will be no tomorrow. Most of them have not given a chance to say goodbye to their spouse, kids, and loved ones. Surely, life is short. In a snap, it can be taken away from you. Today, make an effort to sincerely say "I love you" to people you care and love. Or say "I'm sorry!" to someone you've hurt. Or maybe God is convicting you to call someone to say "I forgive you." Whatever that is, just do it. Make this day a special one and God will be pleased. Las ...
Just got back from New York City, My friend Joe wanted a navagator for a run , and what a great time (sans rain) Beside the regular jaunt, we went to ground zero, something I've wanted to do since in all happened. There is is construction everywhere, and the new tower is breathtaking. As the two holes in the ground are solemn I remember how cool it was when I came down here in the early 70's and went up in the observation tower. When we used to visit from Kentucky you knew you were close when you could see the Twin's. You ever have the chance go and see it. It's sad but it's also inspiring. A testament to the will of Americans. And on side, I got to go across the river to Hoboken and got a picture of Carlo's bakery. I didn't see Buddy it was cool. I'll post the picture when I find my charger for my now dead Camera battery!!
Back before the terrible deeds levied upon New York City on September 11th, 2001, innocent lives were lost because of terrorist detonating a bomb that culminated in the Oklahoma City bombing almost 20 years ago. President Bill Clinton at the time gave a speech in remembrance, but President George W. Bush's words at Ground Zero in the famous bullhorn speech ring true back before his time to the testament of American justice against terrorism: "I can hear you! I can hear you! The rest of the world hears you! And the people who knocked these buildings down will hear all of us soon!"
New York City, Day 2: Started with the oldest architectural hardware manufacturer in the country, walked to Ground Zero, took the ferry to the Statue Of Liberty, ran with the bull on Wall Street, had a pastrami on rye at Katz's, found the original Paul's Boutique building and had drinks with many new friends. I'd say it's going pretty good so far.

On Monday, April 28, 2014, area law enforcement officers and supporters will be joining with representatives of Tour de Force NY to honor Officer Jamie Buenting who was shot and killed on September 13, 2013 in Rockwell City. Tour de Force NY is a group of police officers and supporters which began after the attacks of September 11th in New York City. They have grown into an organization of nearly 300 riders and support personnel who ride bikes around September 11th, ending at Ground Zero, in order to raise money to help families of fallen police officers around the nation. This coming fall, they are riding from the finish line of the Boston Marathon to Ground Zero over four days. This group’s representative, Laura Judge, a former Story County Deputy, reached out to ask if we’d consider hosting a ride to honor Officer Buenting. We were thrilled to accept. Beginning at 10:00 am on April 28th, we will begin riding from the Webster City Police Department. We will follow old Highway into Fort Dodge a ...
Leading A Purpose Driven Life with Meditation Stop sleepwalking through life and find your dharma ~ davidji I WORKED FOR MANY YEARS in the worlds of finance and business amid the wild corporate swirl of New York City. I had even worked for a time on one of the higher floors of Tower 2, at what is now referred to as Ground Zero. But one day I realized—as my life was spinning out of physical and emotional balance—I had stopped meditating. I had replaced my 5 A.M. meditation ritual with an early morning train ride into the bowels of the World Trade Center, and I had replaced my evening meditation with a double scotch. And like that . . . poof . . . my practice had disappeared. Also gone were the balance and deep fulfillment I had felt during my meditation days. I was living to work, to fill an empty part of me that I had forgotten. It had been a decade since I had slept through the night. Instead, I often awoke at 2 A.M. with a painful knot in my stomach that stayed there through the day and into the eve ...
I had a great day in New York City with Michelle, Brody and Alex Heckman!! Rode into NYC on the NJ transit train from Newark, went to Bryant's park Ice skating arena and shopping area, really cute there, then on the subway to Ground Zero, saw many sights as always in NY, the boys loved it all, and then back on the subway, train, picked up the car and back in Reading!! A whirlwind, fun day!! Thanks, Heckmans, for the fun!
Chapter 2 I had been expecting the snow to stop when the temperature dropped, but a fierce lake effect storm swept across Syracuse. In it I could smell the ashes of the rest of the country. It smelled and tasted bitter and acrid, reminding me of the fires that burned for weeks at Ground Zero in New York City after 9-11. Thank God the operators of the Oswego Nuclear Power Plant had managed to shut down the reactors and didn’t suffer a meltdown, or else most of Central New York between here and Watertown would be glowing in the dark. There had only been a few reactor disasters, but they had been bad, and there were parts of the country that we couldn’t go near unless we were wearing full MOPP IV, suit, mask boots and respirator. The swirling snow cut visibility down to a few feet, and ahead of me Ahmed disappeared and reappeared as we made our way up the stairways of the university. They were slick and covered with layers of ice that we had to crunch through, step by step. At least it would help slow do ...
Elizabeth Mendez defines determination. Elizabeth A. Quinones, (a.k.a. Misa Scotlynd), joined the United States Marine Corps in 2002, so she could make a difference in the world. She began her mission to make a difference in 2001 when she volunteered three months of her time through the Red Cross as a volunteer to assist the NYC Policemen and Firefighters at Ground Zero. In 2002, Elizabeth also volunteered her time at some of the New York City shelters and there she helped out with clothing, food and provided just a shoulder to lean on to people who needed support. Her career as a popular singer was launched when she belted out her heart felt and amazing rendition of the "National Anthem", at Madison Square Garden before a highly anticipated fight between Felix Trinidad and Ricardo Mayorga ("A Don King Production") Elizabeth's resume reflects a roster of who's who! To date she has performed with and sang background for a plethora of some of Vibe's and Billboard's hottest acts today.Christina Aguilera, Mar ...

Dear Friends & Family. Just wanting to let you know that it's great to be back home after spending several days in New York City on business, meeting with a customer from England and picking up new suppliers for exporting of their products... Joan & I also had the opportunity to spend some time site seeing (crazy city!) Central Park, Trump Towers ('the Donald' sends his regards), Empire State Building, Statue Of Liberty, and of course, (a humbling experience...where nothing really mattered...not business, or anything material), "Ground Zero", the "9/11 Memorial. In reflection, America is still the "greatest nation" in all the earth. The expressions of the folks visiting this site from around the world said it all.. We are still "the land of the free and the brave"... May God (continue) to bless us all... Happy Birthday America!

When we think of war horses, we often think of the past. But horses still carry soldiers into war today. This statue, which stands today across from Ground Zero in New York City, was created in memory of the servicemembers of America’s Special Operations who were the first to respond to the 9/11 attacks by parachuting into Afghanistan and traveling on horseback into the mountains. The sculpture, which has a piece of steel from the fallen World Trade Center in its base, was designed by Douwe Blumberg and is titled "America’s Response Monument," with the subtitle, "De Oppresso Liber," Latin for "to liberate the oppressed" -- the motto of the Green Berets. On this Memorial Day weekend, let's honor the soldiers who have given their lives for our country, and also the millions of horses who have fallen in warfare throughout history, in battles they had no part of but through which they bravely carried their riders.

Faith Matters: Imam shifts from Ground Zero to common ground Staff Reports Saturday, February 23, 2013 Two years before the 1979 Iran hostage crisis awakened Americans to the dangers of Islamic extremism, there was an even larger, though briefer and less-heralded hostage crisis in Washington. And Feisal Abdul Rauf’s parents were right in the middle of it. For nearly two days, a dozen Muslim gunmen seized three buildings and took 149 hostages — among them nine Muslims inside Washington’s Muslim Center, including the center’s imam, Dr. Muhammad Abdul Rauf, and his wife, Buthayna Ayad Rauf. “The most shocking thing to me in that situation was that it was Muslims who had taken my parents hostage,” wrote their son, Feisal Abdul Rauf, then a 28-year-old engineer, now widely known as the imam behind the provocatively and inaccurately dubbed “Ground Zero Mosque” in New York City. Rauf’s Egyptian-born parents, held at gunpoint and threatened with death for nearly 40 hours, survived the ordeal. Th ...

THE JUDGMENT OF AMERICA, part 2 Before I get into this I want to share some scriptures about the joy of the Lord. I'm not going to print them out but before talking about punishment its good could be reminded of Gods eternal love! If you want to look them up they are Psalms33:21; 68:3; 89:15-16. Neh 8:10 and John 15:11. When George Washington was inaugurated on April 30th, 1789 the capital of America was not washing DC. He was inaugurated in Federal Hall in New York City. After the inauguration he and the new Congress walked down the street to a small chapel and there they dedicated this new nation to God. It is at this spot that we dedicated our future and our nation to God Almighty. This Chapel still stands; it sits on Ground Zero. History will show that there are only 2 nations who dedicated themselves to God at their inception; Israel and America. Israel turned away from God and was disbursed for nearly 2000 years. Christ for told this. Luke 13:34 " Jerusalem oh Jerusalem, you kill the profits and sto ...

WOW! I just discovered on Google Earth another massive buried megalopolis with many pyramids, giant edifices, and structures, particularly a vast urban spread of buried buildings and complexes, even towers and all kinds of edifices. This vast city is in the Greenland Sea between northeast Greenland and Svalbard Island (Norway) and is roughly 180 miles northwest of the seaport village of Longyearbyen, Svalbard. The undersea megalopolis covers an area of 60 miles by 60 miles square (3,600 sq. miles), which is equal in size to the entire land areas of the cities of New York City, Los Angeles, Houston, Chicago, Dallas, Phoenix, Nashville, Indianapolis, and San Antonio all combined. It is located at -13,700 to -11,000 feet below sea level. The tallest edifice is a tower about 1,600 feet tall (1,593’ to be exact) which I call the “Greenland Tower”. It is 183’ less (about 12 stories less) than the height of the new 1776’ tall “One World Tower” (Freedom Tower) in NYC's WTC Ground Zero; yet 193 ...
.and we're back from an amazing and epic 3.5 days and 4 nights in New York City. The Rolling Stones twice in Newark, Eddie Palmieri at The Lincoln Center, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, American Museum of Natural History, Museum of Modern Art, Central Park, Ground Zero, Little Italy, Chinatown, SoHo, Rockefeller Center & the Christmas windows along 5th Ave, great restaurants and bars, warm, welcoming, and friendly people everywhere we went, and some serious quality time hanging out with friends and family. The East River overflowed its banks, flooding large sections of Lower Manhattan. Battery Park had a water surge of 13.88 ft.[250] Seven subway tunnels under the East River were flooded as of October 30.[251] The Metropolitan Transportation Authority said early on October 30, that the destruction caused by the storm was the worst disaster in the 108-year history of the New York City subway system.[252] Sea water flooded the Ground Zero construction site.[253] In addition, a four story Chelsea building's facade crumbled and collapsed leaving the interior on full display. However, no one was hurt by the falling masonry.
Happy Thanksgiving to all. I am blessed. I am also spending my 15th day in Hudson County NJ working the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy. Hudson Co is directly across the Hudson River from New York City. I was allowed some time off today so a few coworkers and I ventured over to catch a glimpse of the parade and we had a Turkey and stuffing dinner at the New York Hard Rock Cafe in Times Square. After dinner we ventured to the 9/11 Ground Zero site and memorial park. What an awsome way to realize Americas spirit and resolve. I was not ready for St Pauls church beside the World Trade Center site. I am not going to elaborate here but when you see me you need to ask. Always pray for my family, I have siblings and siblings In-laws with health issues. Kim, Clint and Courtney, and Amanda and I are wonderful. We are healthy, safe and secure and full of love for all. Again let me say I am blessed! Even though I did not get to spend this holiday with my family to see the work that is being done here to sup ...
Busy final day in the Big Apple.Statue Of Liberty, Ground Zero/9-11 Memorial, Rockefeller Center, Phillip Phillips concert.etc. Been an awesome trip but we miss our quiet home! We have been to London, Paris, Rome, & New York City this year.all fun places to visit, but there is no better place in the World than South Georgia!
In 1789, newly inaugurated President George Washington gave a prophetic warning at Federal Hall in New York City. He declared that America’s prosperity and protection were dependent upon its adherence to God. Later, the political leaders of the young nation gathered at St. Paul’s Chapel to commit the nation’s future to God’s purposes. That chapel is located at Ground Zero and miraculously survived 9/11 virtually unscathed. Now, over 200 years later- I wonder what would happen to our economy if the political leaders once again committed the nations future to God. In order to fix any problem - financial, relational, spiritual ... It takes God- not man.
NRA Life of Duty and Smith & Wesson® proudly announce the release of a new Patriot Profiles video documentary, Trial by Fire. Sept. 11, 2001 began like any other day for New York City firefighter John Norman. But when an urgent “all call” message shook his home answering machine, he raced into a day he would never forget. Norman led the rescue and recovery effort at Ground Zero after the Twin Towers’ collapse killed most of the senior leadership above him. Struggling to control his personal grief to assume responsibility for the operation, Norman served his fellow citizens with honor. “The rubble pile and debris field was so enormous that I truly didn’t even know where to start,” he said. “The endless attack on all senses was difficult to put into words.” While nothing can prepare one for such horrors, Norman understands that the training he received at Oklahoma State University’s School of Fire Protection was critical to his performance. Trial by Fire provides a behind-the-scenes look ...
I was in New York City for the first time yesterday with my Dad and Stepmom. What a blast!! We were there for the International Photo Expo (which was great) but I also got to see Time Square, Bryant Park and Grand Central Station. We took a water taxi and saw the Brooklyn Bridge, Statue Of Liberty, Ground Zero, Ellis Island, etc. Problem is I got up at 4:45am, then didn't get to bed until 1:00am and Mason decides to get up at 5:00am. It's going to be a long day!! Pictures to come.
Wyatt Goodwin In a discussion I had this morning with my friend Ron Mathews, he mentioned he did not know of the Al Qaeda attack on our own soil on October 17th,2012, just days after the Benghazi attack. The MSM didn’t cover it AGAIN, unless you listen to Fox News. The attack was on our Federal Reserve Bank in New York City, just blocks away from our hallowed, “Ground Zero.” So if Ron hadn’t heard about it, I’ll repost an excerpt from my post on that day. So much for Obama’s Campaign Rant, “Osama is Dead, GM is Alive and Al Qaeda is on the run.” The following is that excerpt: Woops! These *** Terrorists just aren’t cooperating at all. Didn’t they get the Memo? “Osama bin Laden is Dead, GM is alive and Al Qaeda and the terrorists are on the run.” Well, one of those terrorist, who was on the run, ran right into New York City with what he thought was a thousand pound bomb. He tried to blow it up in front Federal Reserve Building, just blocks away from the site o f the World Trade Cen ...
Mind blowing!! Must read! George Washington gave the first inaugural speech on April 30, 1789. Guess where? In New York City, the nation's capital at that time. In this speech, he held nothing back. God Almighty was clearly in charge. That very day, Washington blessed our great nation and warned America of judgement if God was ever removed. After he spoke, he led his VP, John Adams and other leaders to a small church for a prayer meeting at St. Paul's Church which is located at Ground Zero. Can you believe it??? This church was the only building at Ground Zero left unharmed the day of 9/11. Read Isaiah 9:10 There was a sycamore tree located by this church. It was knocked (Cut down) as a result of the Twin Towers falling. 9/11 was no accident. God is trying to shake our nation to return to Him. The blessings and the curses began at the very same location!
Just back from a fabulous trip to New York City with my sis and some great friends. It was amazing! Cannot believe what we saw in only 4.5 days: Life of Pi film premiere, Book of Mormon on Broadway, Ground Zero, Sleep No More (off broadway play), Rockefeller Plaza, Saks 5th Ave, Macy's, SOHO, NOHO Greenwich Village, Concert in Central Park (Foo Fighters, Black Keys, Band of Horses, Neil Young), Grand Central Station, Wall Street, Little Italy, Time Square.plus great restaurants. WHEW! I'm tired just thinking about it. Thanks to Laurice, Terri, Jocelyn, and Kim for the awesome time!
What a beautiful day! Left at 8am on a van tour of New York City. Went by Harlem and along the Hudson River. Then went to Times Square and walked about including some shirt shopping. Wish the sales people could speak English. Drove through more of NY and then down to the area of Ground Zero. Couldn't ses the reflection pools as we did not have reservations for that. Did see where they are building the new Freedom Tower and South Tower and the fire house where all the firefighters were killed. Ate NY pizza and a hot dog from the street vendor. Bought another sweatshirt from a street vendor 50% cheaper than before. More touring and then out to Ellis Island by ferry and then to Liberty Island and the Statue Of Liberty. Both very impressive. We found a bunch of Schenks but no Voges who came through Ellis Island. Drove through New Jersey and then back to the campground at 6pm. On to Gettysburg and to Hershey tomorrow. Mary Beth we'll be calling you!!!
Had a wonderful day in New York City yesterday, took the ferry to Statue Of Liberty, Ellis Island and Ground Zero, What a great bus trip and great food. Ground Zero is amazing.
What can you say about New York City? A million things I am sure. But for me? Can you say SENSORY OVERLOAD?! My sister, Toby, was kind enough to come along with us for our day trip to the Big Apple. We took the bus in from Clinton rather than drive in. You know, leave the driving to someone else? Nice bus, is all I can say! That’s the way to go. Takes you right into the Port Authority with a few stops throughout the Newark Airport. I had gone online to get tickets for the double decker bus tour highly recommended by my daughter, Tobi (not to be confused with my sister, Toby). From the bus drop off, it was a short walk to Madame Tussaud's to get our vouchers and we caught the bus right away. Being it was only 8:30 in the morning, the tour was a bit chilly, although the day was absolutely beautiful! We saw sights such as the Empire State Building, Times Square, Rockefeller Center, Ground Zero, the Hudson River, the UN, lots of Manhattan. We never did get up to Central Park and that area. We will have to ...

Statue Of Liberty, Empire State Building, Ground Zero, Shopping at Macy's all decked out for Christmas and all the stores! Visit Central Park, Ride the oldest Carousel on the East Coast, go to the Central Park Zoo, Visit Trump Towers, St. Patrick's Cathedral, Grand Central Station. I have an itinerary that you can follow or go on your own!
I'm back from New York City...a week with my sisters on foot around Manhattan...what a blast. Went to 2 Broadway shows (Book of Mormon and Jersey Boys (again), watched a taping of the David Letterman show, took a twilight cruise around Manhattan, walked the Brooklyn Bridge, visited Ground Zero, and so many other fun things. I've always been a Chicago girl, but I may have to rethink that...

Did you know that on April 30, 1789, in our nations' first capitol, George Washington marched the first congress and the cabinet members down the street to a church to pray for our new nation and consecrate it to God. It was on the grounds of this church that the young United States was committed by her first president, to God. How many of you know that the first US capitol was New York City? That church was St. Pauls' Chapel. The church grounds is no longer owned by the church. You probably know that spot of land where this important event took place as "Ground Zero". Yep. Same one! ~Ed Argo
I wrote this on September 11, 2002 as the first memorial service was conducted at Ground Zero. Even now, years later, I am brought back to the powerful feelings of loss for the families and our country when I hear the NAMES called out by loved ones. My Tribute to our Fallen Americans© By Janice Raffa, written September 11, 2002 © On the First Year Anniversary of the 911 Tragedy, Jerry Nachman, former MSNBC Vice President and Editor-in-Chief (since deceased) was anchoring his news show as the names of 3000 victims of the New York City terrorist attacks on 911 were called by their loved ones as their photos were shown. As the families gathered in a circle in the center of Ground Zero, placing flowers, Nachman remarked that the wind was picking up and swirling around the families circle. As I watched, the wind grew into a larger circle around the families, coming to rest momentarily before it swooped towards the sky and disappeared. He said he wondered if it was the Flutter of Angel Wings. I was so inspir ...
President George W. Bush walks to a photo opportunity past the New York skyline and the famed Twin Towers of the World Trade Center as he visits Ellis Island in New York Harbor. Bush was making his first trip to New York City as president.
" and She called... Blacks, Whites...wait African Americans and Caucasians, Asians, excuse me. Vietnamese, Philipenes, Koreans and Jamaicans or Haitans, waitin' Hispanics y'all. Please be paitent Mexican, Puerto Ricans, Venezualean, Cuban, Dominican, Panamanian Democrats I beg your pardon, you partied with the late, great Reagan? Republican, Independent, Christian, Catholic, Methodist, Baptist, 7th Day Adventist, 5 Percenters, Hindu, Sunii Muslim, Brothers and Sisters who never seen the New York City skyline when the Twin Towers still existed. But still She called. From the bowels of Ground Zero she sent this 911 distress signal. Because She was in desperate need of a hero, and didn't have time to decipher what to call 'em, so she called 'em all Her children. The children of the stars and bars who needed to know nothing more than the fact that she called. The fact that someone attempted to harm us this daughter who covered us all with her loving arms. And now these arms are sprawled across New York City s ...
Written while waiting for the train: The next morning, I went to work and the streets of New York City looked painfully vacant. What I remember most, other than the clouds of debris that hovered above Ground Zero, were the street vendors selling American Flags. They had American Flag t-shirts and "Proud to be American" buttons in their front displays. This was strange because if I racially profiled most of those vendors, I would have considered their background to be the same as the terrorist. And while Intellectually, I know they had nothing to do with the attacks, emotionally, I admit to the ignorance of my misdirected hate. Walking to 54th St from Penn Station on September 12th, this would be the day of more reports. This was the day I learned who was lost and heard stories about moms and dads that never made it home. I tried not to lose my composure, but I gave in. I gave in when I watched people walk through Midtown, covered in ashy dirt, and the only cleared spot on them was around their eyes and mo ...
Oh boy, I was just going to talk about what a great time I had in New York City, then I saw the news on FOX about the shooting. We were not that close but it does make you pause and think. Still, we had a great time and never felt threatened at all, even at night. Our hotel was super and perfectly located across from the Waldorf Astoria. We ate Italian and Indian, drank at an Irish pub and generally had fun. Went to the Met Museum and hit all the usual sights, Times Square, Rock Center and Ground Zero. We went to a church service at Trinity Church and just missed a movie being filmed at St. Barts. We rode the bus, took the subway and taxis-and we walked our feet off. Evita was so so, Ricki Martin just can't sing-aw well some folks seem to like him. My favorite thing was the great architecture. I loved the Chrysler Bldg. and the G.E. Bldg. Had to go into the lobbies and check them out. 30 Rock was very nice too. Maybe I will go back in Dec. and see the city all decorated and lit up.
A group of atheists are filing a lawsuit against the 9/11 cross made out of steel beams that was found in the rubble at Ground Zero in New York City. Teresa MacBain, the public relations director for American Atheists, appeared on The O’Reilly Factor to discuss why the group believes that the cross ...
Just as King Solomon, on the day of dedication, gave a prophetic message concerning the nation of Israel and its future, George Washington also gave a prophetic message concerning America's future. The first collective act of the newly formed American government was to gather to prayer in the nations Capital City. On April 30, 1789, George Washington, like King Solomon raised his hands to the almighty and gave a message to the nation: "The propitious smiles of Heaven can never be expected on a nation that disregards the eternal rules of order and right which Heaven itself hath ordained." And do you know where he consecrated this Nation after his speech? St. Paul's Chapel, New York City, the then Capital City of America. And do you know where St. Paul's Chapel sits? Ground Zero. The site of the first Harbinger. . .The Breach.. . . this is not a "race" for the presidency. Whoever "wins", all of these *** already emanated Isaiah 9:10 verbatim. If America upholds God's eternal standards and follows H ...
Just got back from my Birthday vacation with my family. Went to New York. Saw Museam of Modern Art, the Frick Collection, Empire State Building, Staten Island Ferry, Statue Of Liberty, Billie Holiday's grave site, Andy Warhol's former apartment, Nikola Tesla Corner and lab, Ground Zero, Wall Street, Soho, Greenwich Village, Central Park, then drove to Ithica and saw Rod Serling's grave site and Carl Sagan's grave site, and Niagara Falls. Found an apartment in New York City for $120 a night on Craig's list. But be careful, most were scams. Did all that in 5 days.
My precious wife is taking Jaycie, our 16 year old Granddaughter to New York City for her birthday! They leave in the morning - coming back Saturday. They are staying in Times Square area, seeing 'Phantom of the Opera' and 'The Lion King', visiting Ground Zero, Empire State Building, Statute of Liberty, American Doll Store, Central Park and the Apple Store at Central Park. "[Boston Mayor Tom] Menino and [Chicago Alderman Joe] Moreno have it wrong. Blocking construction of Chick-fil-a restaurants over Cathy’s views is a violation of Cathy’s First Amendment rights. Boston and Chicago have no more right to stop construction of Chick-fil-As based on an executive’s anti *** views than New York City would have had the right to block construction of an Islamic community center blocks away from Ground Zero. The government blocking a business from opening based on the owner’s political views is a clear threat to everyone’s freedom of speech—being unpopular doesn’t mean you don’t have rights. It’s only by protecting the rights of those whose views we find odious that we can hope to secure them for ourselves." ~ Adam Serwer, in left-wing Mother Jones
Most of us know where the great paintings can be found, right? The Louvre in Paris, the Prado in Madrid, the Uffizi Gallery in Florence, the National Gallery in Washington, D.C., the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City and the Barnes Foundation in Merion, Pa., all contain some of the greats ...
Sitting on a roof top in New York City, its only 9:30 and its humid as *** but enjoying every minute of it. Took the girls down in the subway and went to Times Square. Dont think they cared for the subway or the train ride but they had a blast. My sister Dawn McKenna from Conneticut is coming into Grand Central Station around 11:45 this morning, meeting her and heading over to Ground Zero. What fun will that be.
Last night in New York City. Wandered through Central Park, Guggenheim, Ground Zero, Wall Street, Broadway, J&R Photo Video (not nearly as exciting in real life as on the internet), Battery Park and the NY subway today. United Nations, Grand Central Station, Gramercy Park, Flat Iron Building, Empire State and other landmarks from the outside, Broadway and the Matthew Broderick musical, Nice Work if you Can Get It yesterday.

This cover photo was taken in December 2010 at the top of the Empire State Building in New York City. Had they still been standing, the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center would have been seen in the distance behind us in the photo. Later that afternoon, Nancy and I went down to Ground zero. Even nearly two years later, I can't find the words to describe how I felt coming up out of the subway, to be standing on Ground Zero. The place were the Twin Towers once stood was huge. It took a couple of hours to walk all the way around the site. Across the street from the site there was a small museum that had artifacts, photos, and stories I had never seen or hear before. The devastation that occurred at that site on 9-11-01 was absolutely unbelievable. WE MUST NEVER FORGET
New York City, totally underwhelming. Dirty. Stayed in hotel near Times Square and Broadway. Close enough to walk to everything however took the subway just for the heck of it to see the sights. Caught a Broadway show, went to the top of The Empire State Building and visited 9/11 National Memorial at Ground Zero which was very moving. Favorite National Memorial apart from the Lincoln Memorial in Washington DC.
The oil wealth in Dubai is incredible...evidenced by the world's first six-star hotel and the TALLEST BUILDING IN THE WORLD! The new World Trade Center now being built at Ground Zero in New York City will fall considerably short of this tower in Dubai. Personally, whose is bigger is not very important to me. But I do find it curious that thanks to Western dollars and European euros, the Arab world now has the bragging rights! Curious as well that almost all the economies of the free world are suffering, yet the totalitarian economies of Arabia and China are prospering! Something ain't right!
Had a SPECTACULAR time in New York City! Sleep No More was EXQUISITE, I visited Ground Zero, I got to say hello to Corbin Bleu, Dark Shadows was FANGTASTIC, and I even found my favorite flower! I can't wait to go back again.

Had a wonderful and very tiring first day in New York City. Arrived at 8:00 this morning. Wlaked all of Times Square. A little shopping. I think I found every theatre, Rocketfeller Centre, Radio City Music Hall, Central Park. Tour of NBC Studios, Grand Central Station. Wow. Tomorrow we are at the NY Teachers pension plan and will see Ground Zero. We will have a presentation of the Teacher's Disaster Recovery Plan and discuss how they handled 911. I think it will fascinating. Tomoow night's dinner is aboard the USS Intrepid. Wednesday will be mostly presnetations and workgroups in the hotel and then on to Yankee Stadium for dinner and a game. Visitn gthe City of NY municipal 311 Centre on Thursday before heading home. Busy but fantastic.
Five of the terrorist of 9-11 were tried and convicted at Guantanamo Bay while President Bush was still in office. Our curent president, which is so concerned about the well being of the US citizens and improving our poor economy, has made the decision to dismiss the convictions and recharge the terrorist. He wanted to retry them in New York City, just a short distance from Ground Zero. Due to the public outcry he was forced to scrap his plans. Today new trials started at Guantanamo Bay for those terrorist who had already been tried and convicted (some of which proudly boasted of their involvement in this plot). Thanks to our great president we will be forced to bear the burden of additional expenses associated with a new trial. Why would our president want to retry terrorist that have already been found guilty and what is this saying about our government and our people that would allow this to happen.
Recorded September 15, 2008. We take off from the 30th Street Heliport and fly south down the Hudson River. We fly by Lower Manhattan and Ground Zero. We the...
A must read by every IAFF member and fire fighter. On August 18, 2007 two FDNY fire fighters and IAFF members from Uniformed Firefighters Association Local 94 were killed at a seven-alarm fire at the Deutsche Bank building, adjacent to Ground Zero in New York City. Brothers Robert Beddia and Joseph...
10 1/2 years after 9/11 the "Freedom Tower" which is being built at Ground Zero in the place of the Twin Towers is today officially New York City's tallest building!!!
In the midst of reading The Harbinger by Jonathan Cahn, the Holy Spirit quickened my spirit, bringing back to my rememberance His word to me while on an intercessory mission to New York City - Ground Zero... It is in perfect allignment with the parable and revelationary truth of Harbinger 3 - the fallen bricks in the book... This is only the portion of the blog relating to Ground Zero... Jeremiah 33:3 – “Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not” (KJV). While sitting on the tour bus asking God to help me to SEE as He SEES, I heard the voice of God speak, “Everyone is selling something, while I’m giving the BEST thing away for free.” He continued to speak as we surveyed Ground Zero, and my enquiry continued, “How does God see GROUND ZERO?” I am so glad that God never tires of my questioning! Rather, He faithfully replied, “A wake up call to REPENTANCE!” Then He showed me the anthem posted for all to see, “We will never for ...
Ephesians 3:18-19 May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God. The News outlets were all abuzz with the historic visit of Pope Benedict XVI. Wall to wall coverage let us in on virtually everything he was doing, every moment of the day. As things came to a climax in New York City with the Pope visiting St. Patrick's, and a few other parish churches, Ground Zero, and then Yankee Stadium — one guy on Fox News asked, "Is he going to visit any non-dimensional churches?" There was a brief pause, followed by an eruption of laughter; he had meant to say non-denominational. But his mis-speak may carry far more insight than we might wish to admit. For it is indisputable that there are indeed some churches in our land today that are non-dimensional. Existing only for themselves, regarding themselves alone as being the true chosen of the Lord; openly cri ...
Comfort Inn Manhattan Bridge, a New York City hotel is in the Lower East Side close to Ground Zero, Greenwich Village, and NYC Financial District. A pet friendly hotel with free breakfast and free Wi-Fi!
I just returned from a trip to Dedham, Massachusettes, a neighboring town of Boston to visit with family. I printed out my boarding pass on my home computer, drove to Raleigh and stayed at the Microhotel so they could shuttle me to the airport to board Jet Blue airlines. Got to Logan Airport in Boston about an hour and a half later. Took the Silver Line bus to South Station, boarded the communter train to the Dedham station. Got off the train and walked 5 minutes to the Fairfield Inn to meet my 2 sisters and brother in law. We went to the retirement home of my aunt and uncle, which is elegant-- like living on a cruise ship. We enjoyed visiting with my Aunt Dot who is 95 years old and looks 75. We visited the JFK library nearby. we heard a concert at the home about songs of Spring. First cousins Jim and John came over. It was a great reunion. On the return trip home, I followed the same procedure but went home by New York City. I took a taxi to Ground Zero. I ate lunch in a building right besid ...
