Updated 4:05 p.m. ET James Byrd Jr. and Matthew Shepard died to get this law into place. A law custom made for George Zimmerman! (CBS News) "Legally, we have to accept" a jury's ruling late Saturday night to acquit former neighborhood watch volunteer George Zimmerman in the shooting death of Florida teen Trayvon Martin, the victim's family lawyer Daryl Parks said Sunday on "Face the Nation." But, countered NAACP president Benjamin Jealous, federal criminal charges could still await Zimmerman "for what he has done." "There may be a civil action brought by the family, but there should definitely be criminal charges brought by the [Justice Department]," Jealous argued. Under the 2009 Matthew Shepard and James Byrd, Jr. Hate Crimes Prevention Act, he explained, federal investigators would "have to show that race was a factor in his decision making - and there seems to be plenty of evidence that suggests that may race may have been a factor." A Justice Department spokesperson said in a statement Sunday its inv ...
Rappers The Game and DMX have put their names forward to fight America's most infamous Neighborhood Watch volunteer, George Zimmerman, in a celebrity boxing match in March. Zimmerman, who was last year acquitted of murdering unarmed teenager Trayvon Martin during a street altercation in Florida, recently agreed to take part in a celebrity fight night. "It was my idea," Zimmerman tells RadarOnline. "Boxing isn't new to me. It's something I had picked up well before the incident and it's something that I liked, I enjoyed, and I kept up with it and I was able to lose a tremendous amount of weight and get a healthy lifestyle." And now The Game, who has an image of Martin tattooed on his leg, tells TMZ he would definitely jump into the ring with Zimmerman: "I will beat the f--- out of him ... I would not be boxing for me. I'd be boxing for the legacy of Trayvon Martin and for his family." "I would box him to knock him out," The Game continues. "I would definitely take pleasure in it. It's legal, and I want to ...

Two Florida men, Greg Cimeno and William Filene, caused a controversy by dressing up as George Zimmerman and Trayvon Martin, respectively. Wannabe cop George Zimmerman will be acquitted of second degree murder because the prosecution overcharged him in the killing of Trayvon Martin. Also the prosecution presented a very poor case. Hopefully, "Neighborhood Watch" volunteers will wear uniforms and properly identify themselves so won't cause an incident which will take another innocent life.

To the not-so-Rev. Al Sharpton and those Blacks making threats about KILLING Whites: _ Yo! BLACK guys! ... FYI: Zimmerman is Hispanic, with a Black great grandfather. ... So don't just KILL any White Boy IF he is acquitted, okay? ... KILL one who is mixed racially and ethnically - black, white, and brown! ... And KILL one LIKE Trayvon Martin: troubled, into drugs and mischief, let loose to run by his parents, angry, with a record, tatted up, in a hoody (like the nasty-bad local gang causing so much trouble down there), etc. ... Remember: JUST LIKE TRAYVON! ... OH, be SURE you're working for a Neighborhood Watch, too. . And of course be ready for the Radically Racist Whites, like you're being Radically Racist Blacks, to repeat YOUR UNJUSTIFIABLE point of view and go out looking for a random Black Boy to KILL. ... Gotta keep the tally equal, right? ... You guys are JUST TOO STOOPID! ... Like GZ! ... Read Shakespeare's 'The Merchant of Venice'. ... Your lust for the wrong 'pound of flesh' is obvious and all ...
I do not believe George Zimmerman killed Travon Martin because he was black. There is nothing so far in this trial that leads me to believe such. However, George Zimmerman killed Trayvon Martin because Trayvon Martin stood his ground against illegal search and seizure. That's right, Trayvon Martin defended himself from an attacker, which was George Zimmerman. Zimmerman had no authority to approach this kid, even if he was "looking around, acting like he was high". George Zimmerman was a part of the "Neighborhood Watch" which meant that all he should have doing to Trayvon Martin was "watching" him. If a strange man approaches you with no public safety identifiers on, and tries to grab you, what do you do? George Zimmerman could have easily been a kidnapper, child molester, who knows? Trayvon Martin stood his ground a fought back, as he had every right to. George Zimmerman acted out of his league by playing cop and violated Tryvon Martin's 4th amendment right, caught a bad one, and shot Trayvon, when he sh ...
On the Zimmerman subject: Since we can't know for sure, doesn't that automatically mean reasonable doubt? The only living witness is the shooter here. Lemme break it down, and subtract out some of these extraneous elements. Subtract race. Subtract the earwitness chick on the phone with Martin who already lied several times. Subtract Zimmerman's lies about his means during the bail process. Subtract the fact that Martin was an active gang member who had committed burglaries and was bragging about drug use. Subtract out the overzealous neighborhood watch aspect of this whole thing. What you are left with is Zimmerman with injuries consistent with being in a fight and having his head slammed into the sidewalk. A shot rings out. Trayvon Martin dies of a GSW. Nothing, not the race card, not his weight gain from stress eating, not the earwitness, and not the lies and half-truths, can disprove that scenario. Thus, reasonable doubt.
I feel really sad and overwhelmed about Trayvon Martin. Its not about racism to me its about a man shooting a child who was UNARMED. The racism card is being pulled making the case totally loose relevancy, they keep judging and picking that girl apart its ridiculous and I assume very tragic for his mother and father. The simple fact that Zimmerman is trying to get off it proves that he has NO remorse and he should be locked up. I mean really if I shoot someones kid I would make them lock me up I wouldn't be able to live with myself. Smh. Prayer is certainly in order for all parties involved. This world is CRAZIER than I suspected

My question is do you take a gun with you when you go shopping? Zimmerman said he was driving to the grocery store when he spotted Trayvon Martin walking through the neighborhood. Zimmerman's father said that, while his son was not on duty that night as Neighborhood Watch captain, there had been many break-ins and he thought it suspicious that someone he didn't recognize was walking behind the town homes instead of on the street or the sidewalk.
~ Update ~ Judge Debra Nelson dealt a huge blow to the state today, by banning their audio experts from testifying that the voice heard in the 911 call was indeed Trayvon Martin. ~ Excerpt from The Orlando Sentinel ~ Judge bars audio experts from George Zimmerman trial who say screams were not Zimmerman - Rene Stutzman and Jeff Weiner In a major victory for murder suspect George Zimmerman, a judge today ruled that prosecutors may not put on the witness stand two state audio experts who say the voice heard screaming for help on a 911 call was someone other than Zimmerman. Those screams, recorded while Zimmerman was fighting with 17-year-old Trayvon Martin, are the most dramatic piece of evidence in the high-profile murder case. Zimmerman, a Neighborhood Watch volunteer, says they came from him, that he was calling for help after Trayvon attacked him. Trayvon's parents say they are from their son and are his last words before Zimmerman shot him in the chest. Circuit Judge Debra S. Nelson had heard three da ...
As the jury selection process for the George Zimmerman trial begins, many of us wonder how the process begins and what both sides will be looking for in potential jurors. Article courtesy of Rene Stutzman from the Orlando Sentinel. ~ George Zimmerman trial: What will both sides seek in jurors? ~ SANFORD — Picking a jury can be slow and tedious, but some lawyers say it is the most important part of a trial. "It's critical," said Orlando defense attorney Diana Tennis. That process begins Monday for George Zimmerman, the 29-year-old former Neighborhood Watch volunteer charged with second-degree murder for shooting Trayvon Martin, an unarmed black 17-year-old, during a confrontation in Sanford last year. So what will each side look for when choosing jurors? Defense attorneys will likely favor people age 40 and older, predicted Orlando jury consultant Susan Constantine. They'll also want managers, authority figures, people who are analytic — engineers, for example — those who are unemotional and will foc ...
"Neighborhood Watch captain George Zimmerman, who shot and killed 17-year-old Trayvon Martin last month, sparking a national outcry, thought the killing "would all blow over," a friend, Joe Oliver, told ABC News this morning." So George Zimmerman thought that he could just gun down an unarmed innocent teen and it would just blow over? Well over a year later we can definitively say that the child killing monster was WRONG!
Around the time of the Trayvon Martin tragedy a Ben Stiller movie came out called Neighborhood Watch. It was about a group of neighborhood watch guys on who uncover a larger sinister. I see this Mark Wallberg new movie, Broken City is out. read what it's about In a Broken City rife with injustice, ex-cop Billy Taggart seeks redemption - and revenge - after being double-crossed and then framed by its most powerful figure, the mayor. Billy's relentless pursuit of justice, matched only by his streetwise toughness, makes him an unstoppable force - and the mayor's worst nightmare." Sounds a little like Dorner to me, but what do I know. I like a lady who is aware. Happy V'Jay-Jay Day!
When a Neighborhood Watch guard shot Trayvon Martin in February 2012, a chorus of civil rights activists concluded that he had been killed because of his race. George Zimmerman is suing NBC for defamation and intentional infliction of emotional distress. He claims the network made him look like he was racially targeting Trayvon Martin the night Zimmerman shot and killed him. Jean Casarez will join Joey Jackson to put that 911 call in focus. She’ll tell you about her conversation with Zimmerman’s attorneys about the network’s editing of that call. We’ll bring you the 911 call, in it’s entirety at 9:20 a.m. ET.
Maybe it's just that I'm seriously starved for mindless entertainment but I really liked Dredd and I actually enjoyed that Ben Stiller alien/neighborhood watch movie...it's got some crazy title in Mexico and I know they changed the title from Neighborhood Watch because of Trayvon Martin. I don't really like Ben Stiller but he didn't annoy me here. Can't wait for Loopers, I hear really good things.
And this is the "Republican" that Flagler County wants as their Sheriff. Mr. Don Fleming 10. Florida became the focus of national attention after the shooting death of Trevon Martin. His death has resulted in renewed discussion of Florida’s stand-your-ground law. Do you support the stand-your-ground legislation? If not, what would you do to support its repeal? People have the right to not be in fear and the right to defend themselves if threatened. I do not agree with a Neighborhood Watch member being armed while actively patrolling the streets of his neighborhood. Our Neighborhood Watch indoctrination and training emphasizes observing and reporting. But would you repeal or amend the stand your ground law? The Stand your Ground law should be amended to include prohibitive language that would cover incident similar in nature to the tragic event that took the life of Trayvon Martin.

Click Here Florida shooter George Zimmerman back in jail Reuters - Sun, 3rd Jun 2012 06:02 PM MIAMI (Reuters) - George Zimmerman, the neighborhood watch volunteer charged in the Florida killing of unarmed black teenager Trayvon Martin, returned to jail on Sunday after a court revoked his bond and ordered him to turn himself in to authorities. Zimmerman arrived at the Sanford County jail in Sanford, Florida, shortly after 1:40 p.m. (1740 GMT) traveling in a white mini-van accompanied by sheriff's deputies and his attorney, Mark O'Mara. On Friday a judge revoked Zimmerman's USD 150,000 bond, posted in April while he was awaiting trial, after prosecutors accused him of withholding one of two valid passports and said his wife did not tell the court about money donated for his legal defense. In regards to the Trayvon Martin case: If Martin wasn't a Black man, this would have been buried, long ago. That said; and in light of the recent disclosures; the big push is to exonerate Zimmerman of any wrongdoing. From what I know of this case, the first thing that Zimmerman did wrong was to get out of his truck, and approach Martin. The dispatcher had told him that he should remain "on the sidelines," and backup would be sent. Ergo, Zimmerman created the situation, and is now trying to fall back on the "Stand Your Ground" law. The entire crux of a "Neighborhood Watch" program is to report what you see, and let the proper authorities handle the situation.

In Oklahoma on March 12, 2012, Bob and Nancy Strait, who had been married for 65 years, had their home broken into by a black teenager (Tyrone Woodfork) unarmed except for a BB gun. The teenager beat and raped the 85 year old Nancy Strait to death. Her husband, a veteran of the 101st Airborne in WW2, is in the hospital struggling to make it. There will be no million hoodie march for Bob and Nancy, two mere white Americans. No black Chicago Congressman whining in his hoodie to the U.S. House, no Jesse Jackson, no Al Sharpton expressing their outrage. Their killer will have pro bono lawyers and innocence projects helping him until he's finally set free again. Certainly Obama will make no statement on how Nancy Strait could have been his grandmother or how Bob Strait could have been that uncle who "liberated Auschwitz ". Bob and Nancy Strait won't get the screeching coverage that Trayvon Martin got about white racism because a Hispanic neighborhood watch captain shot a black teenager.
