UN CALLS FOR ISRAEL TO JOIN NPT, ALLOW INSPECTORS After refusing to join its Arab neighbors in nuclear talks this month, Israel was called on by the United Nations to allow IAEA inspections of the country’s many nuclear facilities. With overwhelming approval from the UN General Assembly, the United Nations passed a resolution asking Israel to join the Nuclear Nonproliferation Treaty—a move that, if agreed to, would open the lid on Israel’s nuclear weapons program. Perhaps the worst kept secret in the Middle East, Israel is thought to possess around 200 nuclear warheads. One of the four nuclear weapon states not to sign the treaty, Israel has long said it wouldn’t join the process until a Middle East peace agreement has been signed. Australia, Canada oppose Palestinian UN upgrade (JNS.org) Though the United Nations General Assembly passed a resolution to upgrade the status of "Palestine" in the international body to a “non-member observer state” Thursday, a number of world leaders voiced opposition to the unilateral move. Joining the U.S. and Israel’s objections to the vote, Canadian Foreign Affairs Minister John Baird, who had been one of three foreign ministers allowed to speak in opposition to the action at the assembly, added that the UN is abandoning “policy and principle” by ignoring its own rule that Middle East peace should be achieved through negotiation. “This unilateral step will harden positions and raise unrealistic expectations while doing nothing to improve the lives of the Palestinian people,” Baird said in his speech before the vote, according to the Canadian Globe and Mail. Canada voted against the resolution. Australian Foreign Minister Bob Carr, whose country abstained from the vote, said that while ...
Ahmadinejad’s Fatal Mistake By Daymond Duck On Monday September 22, 2012, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad stood before the United Nations General Assembly and addressed the issue of the Zionists (His term for the Israelis). He arrogantly declared that the Israelis have “no roots” in the Middle East and they “represent minimal disturbances that come into the picture and are then eliminated.” The next day, Republican presidential candidate, Mitt Romney, called Mr. Ahmadinejad a “voice of unspeakable evil.” Concerning this important issue, it must be said that Mr. Romney was right on target. The Bible contains a magnificent anthem called the Song of Moses (Deut. 32:1-43). It begins with God calling upon the heavens and the earth to listen to the words of His mouth (Deut. 32:1). He soon says, “Remember the days of old, consider the years of many generations: ask thy father, and he will show thee; thy elders, and they will tell thee. When the Most High divided to the nations their inherit ...

.'Spineless' Obama 'crawled' before U.N. With his Middle East policy imploding, Barack Obama “crawled” before “anti-American jackals” at the United Nations General Assembly today to apologize for a film that insulted Islam, said talk radio host Michael Savage. “We have the most spineless, dangerous president in American history,” Savage told his “Savage Nation” listeners. He expressed disgust for Obama giving deference to an audience that includes “Third World gangsters who sit there in their silk suits enjoying the 25 percent we the American taxpayer pay to keep them in their silk suits and their prostitutes on the Upper East Side.” Get Michael Savage’s upcoming book “Train Tracks,” featuring dozens of never-before-told tales from America’s favorite story teller Notably, he said, the audience included the “Hitler of our time,” Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, who has called for Israel’s destruction. The Obama administration has blamed the attack on the anniversary ...

President Obama spoke to the United Nations General Assembly in New York yesterday – and what a disappointing speech it was. Gov. Mitt Romney is stepping up his campaign-trail criticism of President Barack Obama‘s outreach to Arab Islamist groups, even as polling concerns prompted the president to truncate his high-profile Sept. 23 visit to the United Nations General Assembly. Obama’s claim that recent riots and unrest in the Middle East “represent bumps in the road is a very different view than I have,” Romney in a Sept. 24 ABC interview. On Sept. 23 Obama claimed the Middle East riots and attacks, and the rise of Islamist groups, are “bumps in the road” toward a hoped-for Arab democracy that Obama promised in 2009 while announcing his much-touted “new beginning” policy. The “bumps” gaffe was accompanied by Obama’s claims that Israel is only “one of our closest allies” and that he would ignore “noise” from the Middle East during the election race. The “noise” remark was widely understood to refer to Israel’s requests for stronger action against Iran’s nuclear development program. White Hou ...
