If we stopped our National Health Service being an International Health Service we wouldn't have to cut the National Health Services at all!
ABUSE REPORT Racism in the United Kingdom On October 30, 1998, David “Rocky” Bennett, a 38-year-old African-Caribbean living in England, had an argument with a white patient over the use of a phone in a psychiatric facility. Staff picked Bennett to be segregated from the rest of the patients. He became more upset. The staff then pinned him face down on the floor for 25 minutes. He screamed, “Get off me, get off me, I can’t breathe. Get off my throat. … They are going to kill me.” His screams were ignored. Then they stopped—David was dead. A May 2001 coroner’s inquest determined “Accidental Death Aggravated by Neglect.” David Bennett’s family requested and obtained a government inquiry into his death. This resulted in a February 2004 report that painted a bleak picture of “institutional racism” in the country’s mental health system. Sir John Blofeld, a retired High Court judge, stated: “Black and minority ethnic communities have a fear of the NHS [National Health Service]: tha ...
Have a frikkin read. If you can't be arsed, you are letting it happen. Stuart Anthony: "We're ruled by a mass of reactionary right wing posh boys (and girls) who did not get a majority vote and had to form a coalition with a lite version of themselves to govern. Who have no idea what it's like to live in working class Britain. Nor do they want to know. They want us be grateful for the crumbs from their table. Not content with making disabled people work when they are unfit, privatising our National Health Service to fit the US model, and making being poor and unemployed akin to a crime punishable by merciless bureaucracy and withdrawal of financial help, they want to ban the Human Rights Act from our shores and have us leave the European Union so they can set up a new monetized, finance led meritocracy. They seek a moral justification for selfishness like all conservative bigots. The minute they got in power in 2010 they set about this country like ravenous wolves, turning it into a theme park for attitud ...

Filipino Nurses Official Petition: Unconditional Public Apology Petition Background (Preamble): The recent statement of Senatorial Candidate Cynthia Villar on the February 23 episode of GMA News TV's "Pagsubok ng mga Kandidato” about the Filipino Nurse is completely unacceptable and a blatant disrespect to the profession. The commentary made on the said program is a direct insult to the Filipino Nurse. It clearly demonstrates her lack of knowledge, perception and information on one of the most respected profession. It is insensitive and conduct unbecoming of an aspiring public servant who in the early days of her political career has already displayed a character and a mental distortion not worthy of public service. May we remind Mrs. Villar that in the United Kingdom, there are more than 25,000 Filipino Nurses employed by the National Health Service alone, not counting the Filipino Nurses who have decided to become naturalized British Citizens. The National Health Service is the largest employer in the ...
From: the Troika! Power to the People! In September, October and November we filled the streets of Portugal showing clearly that the people are against the austerity and destructive policies imposed by the government and its allies, the International Monetary Fund, the European Commission and the European Central Bank - the troika. Once we defeated amendments to Sole Social Taxe, new measures soon appeared and even more serious. The Budget for 2013 and the new proposals of the IMF, prepared with the government, unerringly fire against labor rights, against public services, against the public school system and the National Health Service, against culture, against all that is ours by and hit right in the heart of each and every one of us. Everywhere, growing unemployment and precariousness, emigration, wild privatizations, selling the balance of public enterprises, while reducing labor costs. We can not take more theft and aggression. We stand indignant with the theft of the retirement pensions, with the th ...
Don't be fooled into relaxing your opposition to the theft of our NHS by the interview on BBC Today programme (1/3/2013). Dr. Michael Dixon tells the BBC that GP Doctors will walk away from the clinical commissioning groups if the government do not re-word the legislation -that is a smoke screen to stave off opposition. It is, and always has been the purpose of the Nuffield Trust, Monitor, The King's Fund, (and the right wing so-called think tank "Reform" set up by Conservatives Andrew Haldenby, Nick Herbert and Patrick Barbour) to privatise the National Health Service. The "failures" in the NHS are deiberately "managed decline": The now failing hospitals are a direct result of the recommendations to the Government by Mckinsey to Make savings (cuts). It is the remit of Monitor and David Wakefield's jjob (at Bolton) to bring in private health providers, when -what a coincidence - a Hopital such as Bolton's should now be in danger.

Gartloch Hospital was built by the City of Glasgow District Lunacy Board, Scotland. When the hospital opened in 1896 it had a bed complement of 540, this rose to a peak of 830 in 1904 but had decreased to 530 by 1909. Although primarily a psychiatric hospital, Gartloch operated a 50 bed tuberculosis sanatorium from 1902 which closed after World War II. During this War, Gartloch was transformed into an Emergency Medical Services hospital. Psychiatric patients were transferred to other hospitals and a number of 'temporary' hutted wards built. A legacy of this wartime use was a 160 bed medical unit which was not phased out until the 1960's . When Gartloch joined the National Health Service in 1948 it was placed under the Board of Management for Glasgow North-Eastern Mental Hospitals. When the Greater Glasgow Health Board was created in 1974, Gartloch was placed within the Eastern District. From 1993, Gartloch was one of the hospitals within the ambit of the Greater Glasgow Community and Mental Health Service ...
*Public Notice from We-The-People * Since we started our campaign we have had requests from many hundreds of British citizens for assistance with complex and demanding problems concerning all aspects of pensions, benefits, The Bedroom Tax and other aspects concerning the welfare reform bill and we are proud to say that in almost ALL cases, we have been able to render assistance to a fair conclusion or, we have been able to put people in contact with other organisations that have been able to help them. More recently however, we have been receiving requests from a number of overseas organisations requesting our support in their endeavours. With this in mind we would like to clarify the following. We-The-People is a group that is based within the UK set up solely to support British Citizens in their quest for fair and non-judgmental treatment from the state in connection with Benefits, Pensions, the National Health Service and the UK Legal System. We are an apolitical group and therefore have members and fo ...
In the UK, the Labour Party was influenced by the British social reformer William Beveridge, who had identified five "Giant Evils" afflicting the working class of the pre-war period: "want" (poverty), disease, "ignorance" (lack of access to education), "squalor" (poor housing), and "idleness" (unemployment). Unemployment benefits, national insurance and state pensions were introduced by the 1945 Labour government. Aneurin Bevan, who had introduced the Labour Party's National Health Service in 1948, criticised the Attlee government for not progressing further, demanding economic planning and criticising the implementation of nationalisation for not empowering the workers with democratic control of operations. The UK Labour Government nationalised major public utilities such as mines, gas, coal, electricity, rail, iron, steel, and the Bank of England. British Petroleum, privatised in 1987, was officially nationalised in 1951, and there was further government intervention during the 1974–79 Labour Governme ...

WorkAbroad ASK: [Umagang Talakayan] What can you say about Prince Philip's (Duke of Edinburgh) joke about the number of Filipinos working in the National Health Service in England? ""The Philippines must be half-empty - you're all here running the NHS!" Ano'ng masasabi mo dito, Kabayan? Is it funny or insulting? Or he's just stating a fact? In a way, his joke has a point. :)

Jeremy Hunt the Health Secretary "urges" NHS trusts not to stop whistle-blowing. Now this simple mind understands that it is the National Health Service. That says its our NHS (they all always telling us this), therefore OUR government is in charge. So, is there any chance of Jeremy Hunt taking charge and TELLING THEM not to stop whistle-blowing, after all he is The Secretary for Health. Come on Mr Hunt, you wanted to be a politician, to wield power for the good of the nation. As my drill instructor all those years ago use to SHOUT incessantly "GET A BLEEDIN' GRIP"

Government Run and Free Healthcare - look into your future America British Prime Minister David Cameron this week issued a formal apology for the National Health Service (NHS) after a report revealed "truly dreadful" patient care at an English hospital. The report—which examined conditions at Stafford Hospital in Staffordshire from 2005 to 2009—was prompted by the Healthcare Commission, which oversees NHS care and became concerned with unusually high mortality rates at the hospital in 2007. It cited myriad examples of atrocious patient care, including patients who were: - Left unbathed and lying in their own filth; - Denied medication; - Left without food or water; - Developed infections due to unsanitary conditions; and - Patients sent home to die after receiving an incorrect diagnosis. "This is the story of the appalling and unnecessary suffering of hundreds of people," said Robert Francis, the lawyer tasked to lead the government inquiry. He added that it would be impossible to determine how many p ...

History of the Labour Party Introduction This history of the Labour Party celebrates our achievements from its emergence in 1900 as a parliamentary pressure group. We are right to regard as historic the establishment of the National Health Service, the enshrining in law of equality of opportunity for all and the creation and maintenance of an empowering welfare state – all Labour achievements. Equally important has been the development of Labour as a mass membership party in the 1920s and 1930s, the modernisation of our campaigning techniques in the 1980s and the election of 101 Labour women MPs in 1997. However, the lessons we should draw from our history are not all positive. Labour was in government for just 23 of its first 100 years. On occasions we have also been the victim of division and disunity which, as we all know, has cost us dear in electoral terms. It has allowed the Tories to win and undermine our achievements. Our history is one to be proud of. Since our formation, Labour has grown from ...

I received a phone call from a man who told me he would very much like to meet me... He was tall, more than six feet, slim and aged about fifty. Everything about him spoke of affluence, except his plain National Health Service glasses. We went to his club, which he pledged me not to name as it could be used to identify him. I told him I was interested to know what a person might have to fear from a group of influential Freemasons if circumstances made him, for instance, a threat to them in the business world; or if he discovered they were using Masonry for corrupt purposes; or had fallen a victim of their misuse of Freemasonry and would not heed warnings not to oppose them. 'It is not difficult to ruin a man,' he said. 'And I will tell you how it is done time and again. There are more than half a million bret ...
Euthanasia, also known as assisted suicide, physician-assisted suicide (dying) , doctor-assisted dying (suicide) , and more loosely termed mercy killing, basically means to take a deliberate action with the express intention of ending a life to relieve intractable (persistent, unstoppable) suffering. Some interpret euthanasia as the practice of ending a life in a painless manner. Many disagree with this interpretation, because it needs to include a reference to intractable suffering. In the majority of countries euthanasia or assisted suicide is against the law. According to the National Health Service (NHS), UK, it is illegal to help somebody kill themselves, regardless of circumstances. Assisted suicide, or voluntary euthanasia carries a maximum sentence of 14 years in prison in the UK. In the USA the law varies in some states (see further down). There are two main classifications of euthanasia: Voluntary euthanasia - this is euthanasia conducted with consent. Since 2009 voluntary euthanasia has been le ...

BRITISHNESS AND THE STATE OF THE UNION One of the main things about how people feel about themselves and where they live is the need to feel they have allegiance to an identity, which can either unite people or be a divisive force. The recent events that marked the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee and the pumped up enthusiasm of the Olympic Games of 2012, was strong evidence of the confidence and public affirmation of British integration, inclusiveness, and patriotism at a time when openness to migration and international trade has often been tempered by caution and restraint about overt displays of national unity. But the trumpeting of that grand British project of the National Health Service at the Games, only served to highlight what has been termed our “national fragility”. For everyone knows that the NHS is no longer the symbol of British internal cohesion it once was, any more than the image of Britannia which has disappeared from the coin of the realm. Add to this, the problems we have had with the mo ...
I seriously shouldn't of had that nap earlier this afternoon. Means I can't get to sleep. In my sleepless state I was however, able to measure and calculate my resting heart rate which ended up being a total of 54 BPM. Which, according to the National Health Service (UK) is the equivalent of an adult athlete.

By Traci Pedersen Associate News Editor Reviewed by John M. Grohol, Psy.D. on January 5, 2013 Quitting Smoking Reduces AnxietyQuitting smoking reduces anxiety, especially among those who mainly smoke to “cope” with life, according to new research from Oxford and Cambridge Universities and Kings College London. “The belief that smoking is stress relieving is pervasive, but almost certainly wrong. The reverse is true: smoking is probably anxiogenic (causes anxiety) and smokers deserve to know this and understand how their own experience may be misleading,” said the researchers. For the study, researchers followed 491 smokers who were enrolled in U.K.’s National Health Service smoking cessation clinics throughout England. They had all received nicotine patches and were attending weekly appointments. Overall, 106 (21.6 percent) of the participants had been diagnosed with mental health problems before they tried quitting smoking — mostly anxiety and mood disorders. At the beginning of the study, pa ...

Blood A blood bank is a cache or bank of blood or blood components, gathered as a result of blood donation, stored and preserved for later use in blood transfusion. The term "blood bank" typically refers to a division of a hospital laboratory where the storage of blood product occurs and where proper testing is performed to reduce the risk of transfusion related events. It is important for a blood bank to pass all the eligibility guidelines as mandated by the National Health Service (NHS) in Britain and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in the United States. The safety and reliability should also be a consideration too. This includes compatibility testing for transfusion and may include blood donation processing, depending on the capabilities of the facility. Transfusion Most hospital blood banks also perform testing to determine the blood type of patients and to identify compatible blood products for blood transfusions, along with a battery of tests (e.g. disease) and treatments (e.g. leukocyte filt ...

Princely Christmas message 24/12/12 The Prince of Wales has delivered his own Christmas message to the UK National Health Service calling for clinicians to develop a "healing empathy." Writing in the Journal of the Royal Society of Medicine, the Prince set out his ideas on improving health. He said the NHS should recognise the "the core human elements of mind, body and spirit." Calling for a wider perspective on healthcare, he said symptoms "may often be a metaphor for underlying disease and unhappiness." He called for treatment that "understands, values and uses patient perspective and belief rather than seeking to exclude them". Clinicians, he said, should emphasise "the value of caring, continuing relationships and for society to adopt a more holistic approach to health and disease that maximises the potential of the physical and social environment so that healing and better health can thrive." His vision, he said, includes "the physical and social environment, education, agriculture and architecture." ...
Colicky babies helped by osteopathy and chiropractic 14 December, 2012 By Staff Writer NYR Natural News Natural Health News — Colic is a distressing problem, for parents and babies. New evidence suggests that hands-on therapies such as osteopathy and chiropractic can help. Colic is characterised by excessive crying and it is the most common complaint seen by physicians in the first 16 weeks of a child’s life. Parents are often told not to worry about it because the symptoms generally disappear by the age of five or six months. However, the degree of distress caused to the baby, to parents and to family life is such that physicians often feel the need to intervene. Some studies suggest that there are longer-lasting effects on the child, for instance behavioural problems, and estimates put the cost to the UK’s National Health Service (NHS) for treating colic at over £65 million. Small studies have previously suggested that osteopathy and chiropractic, might safely reduce the symptoms associated with ...

Basic economic problem - scarcity & choice The Economist's Dictionary of Economics defines economics as "The study of the production, distribution and consumption of wealth in human society" The purpose of economic activity It is often said that the central purpose of economic activity is the production of goods and services to satisfy our ever-changing needs and wants. The basic economic problem is about scarcity and choice. Every society has to decide: What goods and services to produce? Does the economy uses its resources to build more hospitals, roads, schools or luxury hotels? Do we make more iPhones and iPads or double-espressos? Does the National Health Service provide free IVF treatment for childless couples? How best to produce goods and services? What is the best use of our scarce resources? Should school playing fields be sold off to provide more land for affordable housing? Should we subsidise the purchase of solar panels for roofs? Who is to receive goods and services? DOES THE MMR VACCINE (FOR MUMPS, MEASLES & RUBELLA) CAUSE AUTISM? The MMR vaccine controversy is over the safety of the MMR vaccine. Critics of the vaccine say that the incidence of autism has greatly increased and that the vaccine is a primary cause of this increase. They posit that the vaccine can overwhelm the young immune system, which they assert is often already struggling from the effects of other environmental insults such as exposure to heavy metals. Critics also say that the live measles virus in the formulation of the MMR harms susceptible individuals in a way that wild measles does not. Lack of scientific evidence The consensus of the medical and scientific community is that the benefits of the vaccine greatly outweigh the risks, and that there is no scientific evidence to support the critics' claims. The Centers for Disease Control, the Institute of Medicine of the National Academy of Sciences, and the UK National Health Service have all concluded that there is no evidence of a link between th ...

Are you tired too? Bill Cosby speaking at Riverside Church in NY: "I'm 74 and Tired" Worth reading... I'm 74. Except for brief period in the 50's when I was doing my National Service, I've worked hard since I was 17. Except for some serious health challenges, I put in 50-hour weeks, and didn't call in sick in nearly 40 years. I made a reasonable salary, but I didn't inherit my job or my income, and I worked to get where I am. Given the economy, it looks as though retirement was a bad idea, and I'm tired. Very tired. I'm tired of being told that I have to "spread the wealth" to people who don't have my work ethic. I'm tired of being told the government will take the money I earned, by force if necessary, and give it to people too lazy to earn it. I'm tired of being told that Islam is a "Religion of Peace," when every day I can read dozens of stories of Muslim men killing their sisters, wives and daughters for their family "honor"; of Muslims rioting over some slight offense; of Muslims murdering Christian ...

Great Speech. Stuart Patterson Lecture 2012 What is wrong with Health Care: The 3 M’s (Speech for Australian RACGP Conference) Dr Clare Gerada Thank you for inviting me to talk to you today. It’s a great honour for me, and also for the Royal College of General Practitioners, whose chair I’ve been for the last two years. You’ll probably be aware that my time in office has coincided with a series of monumental health reforms in England. I know you’re going through changes yourselves. Today, as well as the reforms I want to also talk about the deeper questions that the reform process has raised for me over the past year or so. Questions about the nature of general practice and our role in caring for patients. So a talk in two parts: 1. NHS and recent upheavals 2. What matters most to patients? Let me start then by telling you about our health service reforms. Have you heard of them? The medical profession was almost unanimous in its opposition to the Government's bill, which was passed this year. A ...

More great news about our daughter HIlary. She is home from hospital and sleeping in her own bed. She had 6 weeks in hospitals with her back pain and surgery. However eventually the National Health Service came good and she had good quality treatment after the operation on the cancer in her back. She still has not had the final biopsy results. Only then can the oncologist decide on the next stage of treatment. She is very glad to be home and we are helping out around the house.

England’s: NHS (National Health Service) will always face a crisis when run by half-witted British government (cont)
Once upon a time it was resolved to have a boat race between a Japanese team and a team representing the British National Health Service (NHS). Both teams practised long and hard to reach their peak performance. On the day the Japanese team won by a mile. Afterwards, the NHS team became very discouraged by the result and morale sagged. Senior Management decided that the reason for the crushing defeat had to be found and a working party was set up to investigate the problem and recommend appropriate action. Their conclusion was that the Japanese team had eight people rowing and one person steering, while the NHS team had one person rowing and eight people steering. Senior Management immediately hired a consultant company at great expense to do a study on the team’s structure. Millions of pounds and several months later they concluded at a press conference that, “Too many people were steering and not enough were rowing.”To prevent losing to the Japanese team next year the team structure was changed to ...
After experiencing the discomfort and embarrassment of a prostate test by the National Health Service, a bloke decided to have this next test carried out while visiting friends in Thailand, where the beautiful nurses are allegedly much more gentle and accommodating. As he lay naked on his side on the table and the nurse began the examination. "Don't worry, at this stage of the procedure it's quite normal to get an erection" said the nurse. "I haven't got an erection" said the man. "No, but I have" replied the nurse.

Although it is true that bananas contain serotonin, it does not cross the blood–brain barrier.

Makes sense to me. I would also like to add compulsory national service (including non-military), with deferments (though those who have had deferments would be prohibited from holding national office including cabinet or diplomatic posts). National service works for many of our European and our Israeli allies.

Read the other day the UK is investing millions of pounds for space exploration.in my opinion that is an appalling waste of money. How about building new hospitals, social care etc? Look at America, they conveniently can't afford a national health service, but can afford to spend billions on buidling a space rocket. Maybe we should use Cameron's wages to fund space travel...see how he likes that...

My mother informs me that the press in the US is not painting Israel in a very positive light so please feel free to forward this message and give people the view from the other side. For the past several weeks there have been numerous rocket attacks on Israel from Gaza. These attacks were unprevoked by Israel, and were only due to the fact of our very existance. Most did not affect me directly; but, for example, last Saturday night, my son and daughter in law were shopping in a shopping center 7 minutes away from my home, when they were interuppted by the heart stopping wail of air raid sirens. Another of my sons and his wife were at the movies in Ashkelon when the sirens went off; and on their way home were informed of a second siren in their home of Gedera . ...

Charles C.W. Cooke, a British-born writer: Many had hoped that Tuesday would be 1980 revisited. It was not. Instead, in its effects at least, it was more like 1945 in Britain, in which year the Labour Party was elected and began to put into place the foundations of a government-owned and -run health-care system that would quickly displace the established church as Britain’s national religion. (If you question the believers’ zeal, take a look at the frenzied NHS worship at the Olympic opening ceremony.) As Mark Steyn has correctly observed, in Britain as elsewhere, the National Health Service paved the way for a “permanent left-of-center political culture” that obtains regardless of who wins office.
Defence of the National Health Service demands a new socialist strategy: The Socialist Equality Party in Britain...
Ethan Coley - I really don't want to make any sort of status regarding the election.. But I feel obligated to. Just two main things I want to talk about. First; anyone saying they want to move to Canada, England, etc, etc, that's a load of crap. Most of those are more socialist and democratically inclined than the US is (if you think the US has socialized healthcare, just look at the National Health Service), and if you'd be moving there to retain Christian values, then you're out of luck. The US (the South especially) is immensely more pious than the vast majority of Western nations, including traditionally Catholic nations such as Ireland and Italy. Second (probably going to make a few enemies for this): to those who completely support Romney's position on social policy, and this is a driving factor in your choice of candidate. I implore you to take a minute and genuinely think about this (and maybe even watch this [if you have time). If your religion suggests you live life a certain way, and that doing ...
Most promising late stage breast cancer drug will be denied to patients under Obamacare due to its cost. "The government may declare certain prescription drugs off limits for consumers if they are too costly. Section 3307 requires the HHS Secretary to identify “categories and classes of drugs for which the Secretary determines are of clinical concern.” This is the same rhetoric used by the National Health Service (NHS) to disallow costly drugs to British citizens. At the start, their rationing board claimed they were only going to make recommendations based on "clinical" concerns. However, that idea changed dramatically when health care costs increased. This is the same plan under Obamacare, and we are already seeing evidence of a change in thinking in the U.S.: Recently, the U.S. FDA recommended withdrawal of the blockbuster cancer drug, Avastin, for its indication in the treatment of metastatic breast cancer, July 20, 2010. It is often the only treatment available for late stage breast cancer, and h ...

Every says Obama hasn't prduced a budget , but, I going to tell you he has, a zero based budget: "With zero-based processing one can forget about last year, pretend that the program is brand-new, and see if one can provide a detail of expenses for what one would need to fully accomplish the program. This technique will help one to develop a complete picture of what the program actually needs to cost and not just what it has been costing. The original meaning was confined to systems in which the government operates health care facilities and employs health care professionals. This narrower usage would apply to the British hospital trusts and health systems that operate in other countries as diverse as Finland, Spain, Israel, and Cuba. The United States' would also fall under this narrow definition. When used in this way, the narrow definition permits a clear distinction from , in which the government finances health care but is not involved in care delivery. The first system of socialized medicine based on ...

This sudden policy change follows a similar decision by the U.K.'s National Health Service (NHS) to begin pushing pregnant Britons to get vaccinated for whooping cough as well, which is the only other vaccine besides influenza that health authorities now recommend for pregnant women. It also comes about one year after ACIP made a contradictory recommendation to begin administering the vaccine during pregnancy only to women who had not previously been vaccinated for the disease.

I had the chance to visit with a young man from Canada on the flight from Denver to LA this afternoon. I asked him what he thought about Canda's national health care system. He said, "I have broken nearly every bone in my body at one time or another, and have never had to wait for care. This care never cost me a dime. We love our national health service." I wondered out loud why the US cannot seem to provide the same sort of service to its citizens. His take on was . "CORPORATE GREED". I think he has a point. He was absolutely HORRIFIED when I told him what my deductible is for my insurance. It's $17,000.00/year. My deductible is that much because I have a pre-existing condition. Mind you, I have ALWAYS had insurance coverage, but in order to afford insurance AT ALL, I must carry this catastrophic deductible. My health insurance is WORTHLESS, and I have paid a premium price for it all these years out of fear of what could happen if I was really sick.

The people in the Dept. of health are completely insane as recently when they were told that the Vietnamese government had introduced into their national health service a curative drug treatment that worked with no side effects such as 'cold turkey' and where it detoxified hard drug addicts on average in 72 hours, they simply did not want to know. Norman lamb with his senior civil servants should hold their heads in shame and it is clear that they have in reality no empathy with society. The treatment takes 1 week to complete and where it is non-addictive as it comprises of 13 naturally growing non-toxic plant extracts, unlike methadone which is officially more addictive than heroin. Now they have dispatched hundreds of thousands of addicts in the UK to further untold health and social problems. It is another fine example that ministers and civil servants are all talk and when something happens that can really solve a great deal of the addiction problem through a treatment system that works and the only o ...
My last post taken from the article originally posted in a NYC paper, written by a retired British doctor about the National Health Service in Britain. Let's all heed these warnings when deciding who will get our votes next week! "In a centralized system, the setting of targets can lead to organized deception as well as distortion of effort. For example, when the British government decreed that every patient arriving in the emergency room should be admitted to a hospital ward within four hours, if admission was necessary, (and that hospitals would face fines if they failed to achieve this goal), traffic jams of ambulances formed outside one hospital, with patients prevented from entering the ER until the hospital could comply with the directive. Other hospitals designated corridors as wards so they could claim that patients on stretchers had been admitted on time. In the United States, after President Obama's health-care law proposed fining hospitals that readmitted too many patients within 30 days of dis ...
from ENGLAND comes this: The altra right in UK are quietly dismantling our National Health Service in order to privatize most of it. Like Adolf Hittler, everything will be privatized and owned by the super rich of which Romney is one. And in the UK the cabinet contains many very rich men, a great number of whom have a direct financial interest in a privatized NHS. It is a f-g disgrace! Trickle down economics doesn't work and de regulating the banks will only lead to bankers getting even greedier. Watch out America, if Romney wins in USA there will be war and great poverty.
My moron friends. Who think that with obamacare all will be so wonderful. That everything will be as it is now! They are taking 716 billion (that's 716 thousand million dollars) out of medicare to help pay for it! It's not about paying for your pills and doctor visits. By the way my doctor shut down his very success practice and retired rather than deal with obamacare. I delivered a new car to a successful surgeon in Lake Havasu and he said "Me and all my friends(other doctors) have pretty much the same plan. We are going to work less and retire a lot sooner!" Under obamacare this is where the rubber meets the road: When you get really really sick with something expensive and are over 65 you better have money and a passport so after your turned down by the board (deathpanel) you better be able to go somewhere in the world to save your life. How can they justify spending say $600,000 to save you when you 70? They will NOT NOT NOT NOT do it. Hear about the 29 yr old in England with Systic Fibrosis ...

Asylum Seekers Blocked At Border - Eritreans Pushed Back to Egypt, Despite Risk of Abuse Jerusalem — The Israeli military has since June 2012 prevented dozens of asylum seekers, most of them Eritreans, from crossing Israel's newly constructed fence on its border with Egypt, Human Rights Watch, the Hotline for Migrant Workers, and Physicians for Human Rights - Israel said today. Israel has also unlawfully deported dozens more back to Egypt, the three groups said. Israel should stop rejecting asylum seekers at the fence unless its officials determine in a fair procedure that they do not face threats to their lives or freedom or inhuman and degrading treatment because of that rejection. In forcing asylum seekers and refugees to remain in Egypt and in deporting others, Israel is putting them at risk of prolonged detention in Egyptian prisons and police stations, where they cannot claim asylum, of forcible return to Eritrea, and of serious abuse by traffickers in the Sinai region. Israeli officials' claims t ...
"Hi Zev Glad we spoke this evening and that you are well. In Canada we get all the stations and it spent a long time on the fires in Brooklyn. And then you have an election. Let me tell you as a Canadian who worked for Jimmy Carter and knows the US health care NON system pretty well -- we DO NOT wait in line for surgeries at ant level. We ALL have family doctors who work for us, as patients, and NOT for insurance companies. Personally I pay with my husband $116 per month for our health insurance. I can show up any day at my doctors office or at hospital and be given the same level of treatment as anyone else. We also pay a portion of our taxation base to health care, education and social services" A old friend from Canada sent me this that should have been sent to Obama before he enacted Obamace. It sholuld also be sent to those Republicans, Conservatives and Tea Party "Know Nothings" that perpetuate the fear of a national health service.
The National Health Service has been criticised for being “grossly irresponsible” after launching an explicit sex education website encouraging sexual experimentation among children as young as 13.
Health care in Canada is delivered through a publicly funded health care system. Healthcare in England is mainly provided by England's public health service, the National Health Service, that provides healthcare to all permanent residents of the United Kingdom that is free at the point of use and paid for from general taxation. The health care system in Japan provides healthcare services, including screening examinations, prenatal care and infectious Disease Control, with the patient accepting responsibility for 30% of these costs while the government pays the remaining 70%. Health care in Israel is universal and participation in a medical insurance plan is compulsory. All Israeli citizens are entitled to the same Uniform Benefits Package regardless of their financial means. And in the US ? What do my American fb friends think, is healthcare like clean water and education a fundamental right of all citizens ?

United Kingdom See Healthcare in the United Kingdom for a description of the services from the user perspective. The National Insurance Act 1911 created a system of medical and unemployment insurance for all male workers of 16 years of age or older.[77] The system, funded through four pennies per week from the employee, three from the employer and two from the government (Lloyd George's so-called "ninepence for fourpence") was at first received with some trepidation by the medical profession but was eventually seen to have been a generally good thing.[78] In 1948 the system was extended to the entire population and a new service, the National Health Service or NHS was established.[79] Today it is the world's largest publicly funded health service.[80] It was set up on July 5, 1948 to "provide healthcare for all citizens, based on need, not the ability to pay." It is funded by the taxpayer and in England it is managed by a government department, the Department of Health, which sets overall policy on health ...

Being late for your flight can be a painfu l experience; it can cost you more than a change fee! Medical experts also tell us that, the earlier a diagnosis is made and treatment is started, the greater the benefits. Late diagnosis and treatment can cause irreparable damage. For example, it is estimated that every year, there are around 10,000 deaths in England, caused by Cancer being diagnosed late, according to a report by the National Health Service (NHS) body, the National Patient Safety Agency (NPSA) entitled, "Delayed diagnosis of Cancer: Thematic review; dated March 26, 2010. Another example of the consequences of late treatment is the untimely death of the great visionary and creative genius Steve Jobs, the mastermind behind Apple's iPhone, iPad, iPod, iMac, and iTunes; who died on October 5, 2011. According to Steve Job's biographer Wa ...
