National Action Network

The National Action Network is a not-for-profit, civil rights organization founded by the Reverend Al Sharpton in New York City, New York, in early 1991.

How Sharpton gets paid to not cry ‘racism’ at corporations Want to influence a casino bid? Polish your corporate image? Not be labeled a racist? Then you need to pay Al Sharpton. For more than a decade, corporations have shelled out thousands of dollars in donations and consulting fees to Sharpton’s National Action Network. What they get in return is the reverend’s supposed sway in the black community or, more often, his silence. Sony Pictures co-chair Amy Pascal met with the activist preacher after leaked emails showed her making racially charged comments about President Obama. Pascal was under siege after a suspected North Korean cyberattack pressured the studio to cancel its release of “The Interview,” which depicts the assassination of dictator Kim Jong-un. Pascal and her team were said to be “shaking in their boots” and “afraid of the Rev,” The Post reported.

New York Post busted for eight year old front page exposé that is the same as the discredited story they did in 2008 January 4, 2015 (New York, NY)-- On a weekend where New York City is burying the second officer who was viciously slain, and as we mourn the passing of our former Governor Mario Cuomo, the New York Post prints a front-page story entitled “Shakedown Al”. The story alleges that National Action Network and its President receive corporate funds by threatening racism. What is interesting is that the exact same story was done by the exact same New York Post writer on June 15, 2008 and was widely discredited. Needless to say National Action Network and Rev. Sharpton has continued to grow leaps and bounds since 2008. It appears with the holidays coming to an end our obsessive critics have run out of new material. 2015 New York Post article: New York Post article:

HOW DO WE CELEBRATE DR. KING'S BIRTHDAY?? I answer this question EASILY each year but evidentally most others dont agree but Dr. King made it CLEAR with the last project he worked on before he died just how he was planning to deal in part with urban ills and that was through ECONOMICS. His economic agenda was JUST FOLLOWED by all those who will be celebrating him, the Black and poor communities would not be suffering for the violence it is today. So on this upcoming Dr. King commemoration I will state my annual challenge that we use the birthday of Dr. King to give re-birth to his POOR PEOPLES CAMPAIGN, starting at the core with his first direction that Black and poor communities would start using their consumer power towards the community owned financial institutions that would be used to create, sustain and increase our own community businesses and jobs, and second he said that Black and poor communities should protest the major corporations that existed in our communities that did not have economic ben ...

Here's the full text of an article from the New York Post giving extensive details on Sharpton's corporate shakedown racket, and also details about all the taxes that this crook has not paid. What a disgrace. Take the time to read this: REV. AL SOAKS UP BOYCOTT BUCKS Anheuser-Busch gave him six figures, Colgate-Palmolive shelled out $50,000 and Macy’s and Pfizer have contributed thousands to the Rev. Al Sharpton’s charity. Almost 50 companies – including PepsiCo, General Motors, Wal-Mart, FedEx, Continental Airlines, Johnson & Johnson and Chase – and some labor unions sponsored Sharpton’s National Action Network annual conference in April. Terrified of negative publicity, fearful of a consumer boycott or eager to make nice with the civil-rights activist, CEOs write checks, critics say, to NAN and Sharpton – who brandishes the buying power of African-American consumers. TODAY'S MARCH FOR JUSTICE Thousands of demonstrators streamed down Pennsylvania Avenue on Saturday, shouting “Black lives matter,” “Hands up, don’t shoot” and “I can’t breathe” to call attention to the recent deaths of unarmed African American men at the hands of police. The peaceful civil rights march led by families of the slain and organized by the Rev. Al Sharpton’s National Action Network drew a wide range of Americans — black, white, Latino, Asian, young and elderly. They walked east toward the U.S. Capitol in a stream of colorful T-shirts, banners and signs. The day’s most poignant moment came when a number of family members of black men and boys killed by police — Eric Garner, Michael Brown, John Crawford III, Tamar Rice and Amadou Diallo — took the stage at a rally at the Capitol. Photos of this very chilly day say it all. Kunu Matima For Thabang Manyana in South Africa

Accolades from politicians are usually a sign of untrustworthy character and Sharpton is no exception to this rule. Right wing Democratic Governor Andrew Cuomo said of Sharpton “He has grown immensely over the years. He is no longer New York’s Rev. Al Sharpton; he’s the nation’s Rev. Al Sharpton, and the nation is better for it.” Mayor de Blasio called him a “blessing for the city.” High praise from this governor ought to be the political kiss of death for anyone claiming progressive credentials. Mayor Bill de Blasio used outrage over stop and frisk to win his office, but since that time has acted counter to his supporters’ expectations, including expanding the discredited “broken windows” theory of black harassment by police. At least de Blasio does not have a personal fortune to buy Sharpton’s loyalty like former mayor Michael Bloomberg. The family of Eric Garner addressed the nation Wednesday after a grand jury announced its decision not to indict an NYPD officer in Garner's death. Garner, a Staten Island man who had asthma, died on July 17 after Officer Daniel Pantaleo placed him in a prohibited police chokehold during an arrest. Police suspected Garner, who was black, of selling untaxed cigarettes on the sidewalk. The incident was captured on video, where Garner can be heard repeatedly telling officers "I can't breathe!" before his body goes limp. At a press conference Wednesday at the Harlem headquarters of the National Action Network, the advocacy group founded by Al Sharpton, Garner's widow, Esaw Garner, and his mother, Gwen Carr, expressed their disappointment with the grand jury's decision and their frustration that Pantaleo would not be held accountable by a court. Esaw Garner became visibly angry when asked if she accepted the apology Pantaleo had issued earlier that day. In a statement, Pantaleo offered his condolences to the f ...

MICKEY MOUSE & MICKEY ROONEY Posted: 12 May 2014 12:30 AM PDT To get an idea of how far removed from reality or at least from the truth liberals are, you merely had to listen to them insist that when Eric Holder appeared before Al Sharpton’s National Action Network, boohooing about the way he and Obama are treated, he wasn’t referring to the fact they’re both black. The truth is that virtually everything Holder does or says is racial in nature. Some would even say “racist.” He was the fellow, you might recall, who called whites cowards for being unwilling to speak honestly about race, by which he meant fess up to being bigots. Also, according to certain lawyers at the Justice Department, upon taking office, Holder announced it would not be his policy to charge non-whites with hate crimes or civil rights infractions. What’s more, he proved he meant it when he refused to indict the Black Panthers for intimidating white voters in Philadelphia during the 2008 presidential election. Under his despi ...

I'm sitting here listening on KFBK radio to Sacramento Mayor Kevin Johnson speak about the racist Clippers owner and how outraged he is, justifiably so.My question to Kevin Johnson and the rest of the world is.where is the same outrage about these ten prominent racists??? 1) Al Sharpton. Provocateur and make-believe civil rights leader. A TV show host at MSNBC despite his inability to speak proper English or at times, to formulate coherent thoughts, Sharpton has largely managed to escape his past. Founder of the National Action Network, he helped to incite anti-Jewish riots in Crown Heights, New York in 1991. He uses the word *** to refer to various white people, has ties to the criminal underworld, and participated in the infamous racially charged Tawana Brawley hoax and incited black anti-Semites against a Jewish business establishment in Harlem in 1995. He appeared on the late Morton Downey’s television program and publicly used an anti *** slur, calling an audience member “a punk *** ...

NATIONAL ACTION NETWORK (NAN) MEMBER OF CLEMENCY PROJECT 2014 WORKING GROUP PRAISES NEW FEDERAL CLEMENCY INITIATIVE April 23, 2014 - Deputy Attorney General James Cole announced today a new set of criteria the Justice Department and White House will use when considering clemency petitions from federal prisoners. The new criteria will help the Justice Department identify federal prisoners who, if sentenced today under current sentencing laws and policies, would likely have received a substantially lower sentence. “National Action Network (NAN) applauds today’s Department of Justice announcement regarding criteria for reviewing clemency applications,” said Attorney Michael A. Race Against Time Is there a high-minded justification for Dems' divisive rhetoric? By JAMES TARANTO April 15, 2014 This column probably isn't the first to notice a recent intensification of liberal and Democratic rhetoric about race. Last month Paul Ryan was the object of a Two Minutes Hate for some comments on the culture of poverty "in our inner cities," which, as The Wall Street Journal noted in an editorial, were no different in substance from things President Obama had recently said. This Sunday, as Politico notes, Rep. Steve Israel of New York, chairman of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, told CNN's Candy Crowley that "to a significant extent, the Republican base does have elements that are animated by racism." He did allow that "not all" House Republicans are racist, though he didn't specify how many or which ones he thinks are. Obama to announce $600 million US job Reuters/Kevin Lamarque U.S. President Barack Obama speaks at the National Action Network's 16th Annual Convention in New York April 11, 2014. American companies will need 522,000 software developers and computer programmers over the next 10 years as well as nearly 110,000 pharmacists, 224,000 electricians and 941,000 customer service representatives, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. To try to fill the void, Obama will announce during a visit to Oakdale, Pennsylvania, a plan to use $500 million in existing Labor Department funds to pay for a competition. The goal of the competition is to spur employers and community colleges to work together and develop training programs that are designed to get workers prepared for specific jobs that already exist. Another $100 million will be drawn from a Labor Department fund to support programs aimed at training apprentices in new fields with fast-growing occupations such as information technology, healthcare and advanc ...
In a recent speech at the National Action Network convention in New York City, U.S. President Barack Obama addressed the issue of voter suppression and voter ID laws. President Obama echoed Canadian election experts who point out that voting fraud is almost non-existent and there is simply no justification for introducing new, highly restrictive voter ID laws – as Republicans have done in the States and Pierre Poilievre and the Conservatives are doing right now in Canada. “So let’s be clear. The real voter fraud is people who try to deny our rights by making bogus arguments about voter fraud.” President Barack Obama, April 11, 2014 Sadly, the Unfair Elections Act is doing exactly what President Obama is warning about.

Sad & Sick Celebrating Voter Fraud By Matthew Vadum - March 25, 2014 Cincinnati-area Democrats made headlines last week when they embraced one of their own, serial vote fraud offender Melowese Richardson, after getting her released early from prison. At a “voting rights” rally, National Action Network (NAN) president Al Sharpton and Bobby Hilton, president of NAN’s Cincinnati chapter, celebrated criminal overachiever Richardson who was sentenced to five years behind bars last July for multiple counts of fraudulently casting ballots. Richardson had bragged that she voted twice in the 2012 presidential election. She also voted illegally in three elections by using the names of others, including her sister who has been comatose for a decade. Richardson may as well have been embraced by President Obama himself because Sharpton is virtually a roving ambassador for the Obama administration While the Trayvon Martin case was unfolding, at the April 2012 annual convention of Sharpton’s sleazy, race-baiting ...

If this gains ground, don't look for others to protect you in public. "LANSING Activists look to repeal ‘stand your ground’ law By Jonathan Oosting joosting A group of two dozen activists rallied at the state Capitol on Tuesday, promising to launch a ballot campaign to repeal Michigan’s “stand your ground” law if lawmakers fail to update it. The Rev. Charles Williams II, Detroit head of the National Action Network, said the group supports Second Amendment and selfdefense rights but believes Michigan’s law goes too far and does not encourage residents to “choose peace” when the option is available. “We’re going to go to every community across the state of Michigan and we’re going to get ‘stand your ground’ repealed right here in Michigan,” said Williams. “Michigan will be the first state that will get rid of this ugly law that allows people to go around shooting each other. This is not the wild wild west.” The Michigan Self-Defense Act, approved with bipartisan support in 20 ...

Q. What do we do now in 2014 to keep black people safe? A. This has many answers however one of them is to re-united like we did back in the 40s, 50s and 60s, in shaa Allah. For people not born read the history or better yet ask someone who was around in that time many of us are still here, Al hamdudillah! Also we have a pattern already laid out from the civil rights movement and human rights movement. We have people who have dedicated their lives to this work still with us organizing. No matter if you disagree with them on one thing or two or issue still work with them on keeping our families safe. This happens when we think we have made it and the law overall loves us. Try working with the National Action Network, NAACP, Trayvon Martin Foundation just google them, in shaa Allah.

Dear autoworkers, Please plan to participate in a demonstration to be held from 1-2:30 pm Sunday, January 12th in front of the Cobo Center in Detroit. The aim of the demonstration is to get our side of the story out to the many reporters from around the world who are in Detroit to report on this year's auto show, a story they otherwise simply do not get. The attached leaflet describes the main themes, exposing the recovery for the 1% at the expense of the 99%. The Michigan Chapter of the National Action Network announced it at their 1/4 meeting, and we expect it will be announced at the Moratorium Now meeting on Monday. Please post and/or circulate it as broadly as possible, post the jpg on social media, etc. At the conclusion of our demonstration we will head over to the Anchor bar so we can warm up and socialize! It's located at 450 W Fort St, Detroit, 48226 - 3 blks north and 1.5 blocks west of Cobo. We look forward to seeing you at this, the 5th anniversary of our auto show demo, and together ma ...

STATEMENT FROM NATIONAL ACTION NETWORK NATIONAL Executive Director ON A&E TELEVISION NETWORK PUTTING DUCK DYNASTY STAR PHIL ROBERTSON ON HIATUS "National Action Network is pleased with the swift response of A&E Network to put "Duck Dynasty" star Phil Robertson on indefinite hiatus. While we believe in the first amendment right of free speech, we also recognize that giving some thoughts and misguided, obtuse beliefs a microphone that can be voiced to millions of people is irresponsible. We applaud A&E for taking the necessary steps to not further breed hate and misconceptions among minority groups who are continuing to fight to be seen as equal in all aspects of society."
