Thank God APC won in Osun BY AZUKA ONWUKA If the Peoples Democratic Party had won the August 9 governorship election in Osun State, it would have become swollen headed, while the opposition All Progressives Congress would have been deflated to the point of asphyxiation. Then, imagine if three days to the Osun election, the impeachment plot against Governor Tanko Al-Makura of Nasarawa State had succeeded. Before the failed attempt to impeach Al-Makura, Murtala Nyako had been impeached as the governor of Adamawa State on July 15, while the PDP’s Ayo Fayose had beaten the incumbent governor of Ekiti State, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, in the June 21 election. Last year favoured the APC politically. In July, it succeeded in merging three parties (the ACN, ANPP, CPC) as well as the Rochas Okorocha’s arm of the All Progressive Grand Alliance. Shortly after that, the simmering crisis in the PDP peaked with five PDP governors defecting to the APC in November. In many states, other elected political office holders and p ...

ADAMAWA GOVERNORSHIP RACE: RIBADU, SEVEN OTHERS "FORCED" TO STEP DOWN Eight out of the fourteen aspirants for the Adamawa State Governorship election on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), including Nuhu Ribadu, have stepped down. Nuhu Ribadu They stepped down from the race in the early hours of Friday after a marathon closed-door meeting with the Senate President, David Mark, at the Presidential Villa. Following the impeachment of the former Governor, Murtala Nyako, October 11 was fixed for the election of a substantive governor for the state. The Senate President, alongside the PDP National Working Committee (NWC) of the party in Abuja, had intervened to forestall looming crisis ahead of the party’s primary election scheduled to hold on Saturday in the state. The meeting with the aspirants, which lasted about four hours, started by 9.06 p.m on Thursday and ended around 1.00 a.m on Friday. It was held at the Banquet Hall of the State House. At the meeting, it was gathered that Mr. Mark, ...
The truth is that it was Mallam El Rufai that named General Ihejirika as a sponsor of Boko Haram. Dr. Davis never mentioned Gen Ihejirika in his interview. Dr. Davis only said a retired Army Chief. Mallam El Rufai quickly went to social media to name General Ihejirika. Mallam El Rufai and fundamentalist northern oligarchies have always suspected that Ihejirika was operating a covert elite squad to take out suspected Boko Haram sponsors extra judiciously. This suspicion might have led them to convince an already embittered Obasanjo to make allegations of snipers and Murtala Nyako followed it up with his poisonous memo. Their suspicion began after the assassination of retired Genera Shuwa. General Shuwa, was the most vicious amongst the three commanding officers that leveled Biafra in 30 months during the civil war. The other two are Scorpion Adekunle and Murtala muhammed. They were the commanders of the Three divisions of the Nigerian army. General Shuwa is actually a hero amongst core northerners. Folks s ...

Business activities and vehicular movements were brought to a standstill momentarily Friday in parts of Yola, Adamawa State, as a former chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Nuhu Ribadu, declared his intention to contest the Adamawa Governorship Bye Election. A mammoth crowd besieged Mr. Ribadu’s convoy from the Yola international airport to his campaign office, causing a traffic gridlock along the busy Galadima Aminu Way down the PDP state secretariat. Mr. Ribadu was escorted to the party secretariat by PDP executives and chieftains from his ward, local government as well as others party chieftains from the 21 local government areas of the state. Some of the party chieftains present at the occasion include former state lawmakers, led by former speaker, Abubakar Abdullahi, former local government chairmen, ex-councillors and senior political associate of the immediate past governor, Murtala Nyako, who have pitched tent with Ribadu. While declaring Nuhu Ribadu said he was in th ...

Adamawa: INEC shuns Ngilari’s suit The Independent National Electoral Commission on Tuesday refused to attend a Federal High Court, Abuja for the hearing of a suit filed by a former Deputy Governor of Adamawa State, Mr. Bala Ngilari, seeking an order compelling his swearing in as the governor. Ngilari’s counsel, Mr. Festus Keyamo, who said INEC had been served with the court processes, told Justice Adeniyi Ademola that the electoral body was likely to “care less about this matter”. The lawyer also told the judge that he had filed a further affidavit reporting to the court that the acting governor of the state, Mr. Ahmadu Fintiri, had written a letter to INEC calling on the commission to conduct the bye-election “as quickly as possible”. INEC is constitutionally required to conduct the bye-election within 90 days of the removal of the former governor, Murtala Nyako, on July 15. The judge had on August 8 turned down the request by Ngilari to restrain INEC from conducting the governorship bye-ele ...

THE BLAME GAME CONTINUES NYAKO ACCUSES FINTIRI OF WITCH HUNT Former Adamawa State Governor, Murtala Nyako, has denied claims by the acting governor, Ahmadu Fintiri that he squandered N70 billion. A statement by the Director of Press and Public Affairs of Murtala Nyako Press Office, Ahmed Sajoh, accused Fintiri of cooking up false figures and spurious allegations to smear the name of the former governor. The acting governor had on Tuesday announced a decision to set up a judicial panel of inquiry to probe Nyako’s seven year administration as part of attempts to recover funds allegedly stolen. “We have received the news of a plan to probe Murtala Nyako as one of the expected outcomes of the illegal process that culminated in his forceful removal from office by the combined forces of opposition in Abuja and Yola. The framers of the 1999 constitution did not foresee that the provisions of the document will be abused in the manner of a coup d’ tat as was done in the illegal impeachment of Governor Nyako. ...

Anwar, Yola Hits: 1047 0 Comments Ahmadu Umaru Finitir Adamawa State Acting Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has denied working towards continuing in office beyond his three month mandate saying any report portraying him as trying to elongate his tenure is not only speculative but mischievous. The acting governor expressed worry about the appearance of his campaign posters in Yola saying the development could send wrong signals to the public. Speaking through his chief press secretary, Solomon Kumangar, Fintiri said he is only committed to serving his constitutional term as acting governor and as such has no desire to stay in office beyond three months. Posters of Fintiri suddenly surfaced along major streets in Yola while a bill board carrying his portrait replaced that of former governor, Murtala Nyako at the gate of Adamawa State Government House in Yola. “The Acting G ...

Adamawa after Murtala Nyako - let the people speak What happened in Adamawa State to lead to the impeachment of its Governor Murtala Hammanyero Nyako, is no more the matter to face at the moment. The Murtala Nyako Administration left Adamawa State wrecked almost irredeemably. To begin to chronicle the cause of the fall should be seen as out of place for there is now more urgency in looking at the task ahead which is to plot the painstaking way forward. In this regard since the impeachment, nothing agitates the mind more than the running criticism of the House of Assembly which impeached Nyako, of doing so only now, for "gross misconduct" perpetrated well over 5 years ago. Why did they keep mute over the time, only to act now, critics ask. It is a sentimental criticism expressed without a sense of history, and with a lack of knowledge of the facts. One could in fact add that critics are lacking in empathy for the Legislators who indeed barely survived the war headed torpedoes of the retired Admiral, which ...
Keyamo Faults Resignation of Adamawa Deputy Governor • Asks president to reverse illegality Lagos lawyer, Mr. Festus Keyamo, has described the resignation of Adamawa State Deputy Governor, Mr. Bala Ngglari as illegal and unconstitutional. In an open letter to the President Goodluck Jonathan, Keyamo said the impeachment of the state governor, Murtala Nyako and the resignation of Ngglari were characterised by illegalities. He warned that the nation might be gradually sliding into "a state of anomie, if Your Excellency turns a blind eye and deaf ears to the various illegalities that have characterised the process employed in the gale of impeachments, or threatened impeachments and/or removal of elected representatives of people in various parts of this country." He argued that as at the time Ngglari purportedly resigned, Nyako was still the governor and therefore the letter of resignation should have been addressed to him (Nyako) and not to the Speaker. According to him, at the material time the assembly . ...

After the Hurricane called Nyako.[tomorrow in Daily Trust] It is necessary to situate the vote of confidence for which the Legislature is now being demonized, within the context of the clean sweep of the political stakes that Murtala Nyako desired to have and failed. The assurance of a vote of confidence was no more than a political ploy to self preservation during a difficult period when Murtala Nyako had not made that ill advised baseless accusation of President Goodluck Jonathan of genoside against Northerners, a statement that drove the nation closer to the edge of the precipice where it had been tottering, and a President, grievously wounded and embarrassed and vengeful. Not to forget a time when if you were a believer and a true lover of democracy, you would have wept for what Adamawa State was offering the world to see. Those who vilify the Adamawa State Legislature did not know that once upon a time, the Legislature was locked down for nearly 3 months because the same 19 out of 25 members voted to ...

Adamawa Impeachment: How Betrayal Made Nyako A Political Orphan. — Jul 20, 2014 . Was the former governor of Adamawa State, Murtala Nyako a political orphan which eventually led to his impeachment? Was he abandoned by the same forces that hitherto sustained him in power? What was the role of his party in the twilight of his administration? The meeting convened by the National Chairman of All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief John Oyegun on Wednesday last week to discuss issues surrounding the impromptu removal of Governor Murtala Nyako came belatedly as the governor who was on the firing line of the ruling People’s Democratic Party, PDP has been left on his own as the impeachment saga lasted. The impeachment has raised many questions in the minds of Nigerians over the concerns of APC to its members who are in trouble as the party did not do anything substantial enough to save Governor Murtala Nyako’s job. Because of the lackluster attitude of the party to the concerns of its members, the PDP had a ...
Treason, Graft: Nyako on the run – EFCC AFTER fruitless attempts to pin down and arrest impeached Adamawa State Governor, Murtala Nyako, the Federal Government appears to be under pressure to declare him wanted. Gov. Nyako Gov. Nyako The government wants the former Chief of Defence Staff arrested and prosecuted over alleged looting of Adamawa State treasury and treason against Nigeria. There were clear indications last night that security agents, who have been combing Yola and Abuja for Nyako, were frustrated over their inability to trace his whereabouts fueling impression that the axed governor is on the run. According to a competent source in Yola, Nyako’s security aides are said to have ferried him out of Yola to an undisclosed location the same day he was sacked from office. Although, many believe that the former governor was still in Yola, other sources claim he had travelled to Saudi Arabia while some say he is in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory. Bola Tinubu, has accused President Goodluck Jonathan and the PDP, of contriving the impeachment of the gov of Adamawa State, Murtala Nyako.
Nyako’s political misfortunes By Mahmoon Baba-Ahmed The story behind the impeachment of Murtala Nyako of Adamawa State is long and uninspiring, but still it was not surprising because it did not come unexpectedly. It was quite clear the removal notice was purely political in view of the fact that the accusations leveled against him and his deputy were trumped up simply to ensure their exit. The charges were not unprecedented in the annals of Nigeria’s history; they are everyday affair connected with the lives of many Nigerians either in public or private services. Therefore Nyako was not the first to be accused of corruption and gross misconduct while in office, just as many other past and incumbent governors are equally guilty of similar unlawful acts but they were not subjected to the same treatment. Nyako was fully aware of a plan set in motion to get rid of him even before it became public knowledge. He knew it was politically motivated by whom he called Abuja-based politicians and that the move w ...
SSS, Police, EFCC Lay Siege On Nyako Security operatives in the country has allegedly laid siege on the impeached former governor of Adamawa State Murtala Nyako over allegations of money laundery, theft abuse of office and treason. A highly placed security source said that a team of joint security operatives comprising of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Department of States Security Service, DSS and Nigerian police force in plain cloths are currently monitoring the movements of Nyako across the country particularly in Adamawa State and the FCT. Also, another EFCC source said that the embattled former governor has series of petition hanging against him, his son, Abdulazeez Nyako, a zonal manager with a new generation bank as well as some top government officials under his regime are to account for a whopping sum of 43billion looted funds. The security source further added that apart from EFCC, Nyako will also be facing the department of states security service, DSS over allegations bor ...

Breaking News: Adamawa State Governor, Murtala Nyako impeached as his deputy, Bala Ngilari, resigns from office.
Adamawa State Governor, Murtala Nyako has been impeached. This shows that the build up to 2015 might be bloody. Desperation and power drunkenness of Nigerian politicians still stench the air from North to south.
The English man says, "if you live in a glass house, you do not throw stones." This I pondered on when I read in the news in the early hours of today about the impeachment of Adamawa State Governor, Gen. Murtala Nyako the delibrate resignation if his deputy, Ngilari. The military man *** politician has been charged with gross misconduct and misappropriation of state funds. To this end, there is no decent leader in this country,if they are aware of this fact, they would not have been going beyond their boundaries. Everyone has a skeleton in his/her cupboard, that is why I am ideologically and hopelessly hopeless for Nigeria. I have umpteenth said this, the realisation of the Nigeria we all hope for will be a function and entirely dependent on the works of the most spotless and just man. This,we are still very much far from.
Former Governor of Adamawa State, Murtala Nyako, has spoken on his removal.
“Why Gov. Nyako Must not Go” I don’t need to take us aback to why the Adamawa State legislators are asking for the head of the state chief executive Gov. Murtala Nyako alias baba mai mangoro. His offences are numerous ranging from infrastructural decay, insensitivity on the plight of the citizenry, running the affairs of the state as personal or family property, outstanding salary areas and other allowances owed the state civil servants and of recent illegal deductions from their take- home pay which more often than not cannot take them home. A lot of political moves aimed at salvaging the situation in favour of Nyako were made by some APC stalwarts, some of which include the former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar, Gov. Rabiu Kwankoso of Kano State and Mallam Nuhu Rabadu the former EFCC boss. All their efforts were said to have not reach the desired results. Some spirited efforts were also made by some stake holders at the national level to win support for the embattled governor by advising him to iss ...

Despite the humilation that Gov. Murtala Nyako melted on Atiku during the 2011 presidencial election. Atiku Abubakar has proved that he is a high-minded man who does nt bear grudges and he has choose to 4get the past. He is now the only man who can save Nyako frm impeachment bcos Nyako is nt rich enough to buy back hs past. Less try to make the best of 2day and be excited about tomorrow.

Rochas Okorocha has appealed to President Goodluck Jonathan asking him to save Adamawa State Governor Murtala Nyako from impeachment.
Its funny de way de FG & PDP act these days. Gov. Rotimi Amaechi was denied entry into Ekiti & detained by soldiers in Ondo, (who said they're acting based on ORDERS FROM ABOVE), chartered flight grounded. All these 4 no just reason! Gov. Adams Oshiomole's chopper has been grounded as well! Not forgetting de impeachment threat on Gov. Murtala Nyako. Haba!!! Are we now returning 2 de dark days of Gen. Sani Abacha? Hmmm! It's just pathetic that this administration will stoop so low in its hunt 4 passived enemies. There is God oh! May God save us from de Jonathans. God Bless Nigeria. Amen.
Unlawful attempts by the Adamawa business lawmakers to impeach unempeachable Adamawa State Governor must fail because the said lawmakers are on their own unpatriotic business with the FG. Admiral Murtala Nyako is one of the best Northern leaders who shows their common concerns with the general public. Northern leaders are everyday going far from their people! Long live Sir. Murtala Nyako, one of the typical example of good leadership in the North! How on earth can Northern Elders whose people are the daily victims of the Northern PDP insurgences leaves Murtala Nyako to his fate for his strong move to save the scattered North from Genocide? I believed that Northern Elders have an untold mental disorder disallowing them to save their people! Our Northern Elders needs an urgent mental screening to ascertain the brains funtions normality. Thanks to Nyako, Kwankwaso, Wamako, Ameachi, Sylva, Rochas, Babatunde Fashola, Adams Oshiomole and numerous others. May Allah save the North and 9ja in general!!!
in.THE OPEN CONSPIRACY AGAINST THE NORTH Initially, OBJ tells all Nigerians in general the Dangerous plans of GEJ. Among the plans of the President -GEJ-as stated by OBJ in his 18- Pages letter, is the training the Niger- Delta Militants to become snipers and in return they will murder 1000 men of politics that will be against his 2015 ambition. The President kept mute on the Issues rised by the Letter of OBJ. Secondly, The Memo of Murtala Nyako stated many issues on the insurgency of Boko Haram which the President, PDP and advisers throw insults and abuses on Nyako without giving answers to the Issues he stated. Thirdly, the following questions will clear your doubt that the Present Administration are among the sponsors of Boko Haram . 1. The Nigerian Army withdrew from Federal Government College Buni Yadi just 24 hours to Boko Haram attack (59 children killed) 2. The Nigerian Army withdrew from Bama, Konduga, Kawuri, Gulumba, and Damboa 48 hours to Boko Haram attacks ( more than 600 people killed among ...
Six northern governors namely: Alhaji Rabiu Kwankwaso of Kano State; Alhaji Magatakarda Wamako of Sokoto State; Alhaji Muazu Babangida Aliyu of Niger State; Alhaji Sule Lamido of Jigawa State; Alhaji Murtala Nyako of Adamawa State and Alhaji Abdufattah Ahmed of Kwara State banded together with Rivers State Rotimi Amaechi to demand that the sitting President, Goodluck Jonathan, should undertake not to partake in the forthcoming 2015 Presidential Election. The refusal of the President to give such an undertaking led to an orchestrated crisis in the PDP, and led to the willful abandonment of the party by five of the aforementioned governors. Members of the National Assembly, states houses of assembly and other party faithfuls in those states also exited PDP. Such is the desperation with which northern Muslims want power at the center in Nigeria. -Middle Belt Dialogue.

APC and the Igbo Nation. The outcome of the just concluded All Progressives Congress national congress held at eagle square, Abuja last weekend has gone a long way to establish the place of the Igbo nation, and indeed some other Southern states in the minds of the average Nigerian Muslim, Northerner or Southerner. A look at the hierarchy of the newly formed opposition party speaks volumes to any Igbo Man who can read between the lines. APC came out of a three mega parties and splinter groups from some other parties. The mega parties were, The CPC, The ANPP and The ACN. The CPC group constituted of all the core fanatical Northern leaders including all the three governors whose state are the hotbed for the dreaded Boko Haram that has killed over 10,000 innocent Nigerians, that is Kashim Shettima (Gov. Borno State), Murtala Nyako (Adamawa State), Ibrahim Geidam (Yobe state). PDP is waxing stronger without decampee governors says Jonathan President Goodluck Jonathan has declared that despite the exit of five governors and some legislators, PDP has emerged more dominant, heading to the 2015 election. . Speaking on Thursday at the PDP’s National Executive Meeting (NEC), President Jonathan said the exit of the governors and the party chieftains was not being felt by the PDP. The five governors that defected to the APC were – Rotimi Amaechi (Rivers), Musa Kwankwaso (Kano), Aliyu Wamakko (Sokoto), Murtala Nyako (Adamawa) and Abdulfatah Ahmed (Kwara). The President said: “There was a time, especially when some of our governors for one reason or the other, moved and some members of the National Assembly also moved and people were saying that these people will overrun PDP From the privileged position that I am, I see wider. When I looked across, I did not really see that threat. Psychologically, we must let everybody know that PDP is still the dominant party. “Even though some ...

I’m No Religious Bigoy Christians are the majority I have no knowledge of discrimination against them – Gov Nyako Adamawa State Governor Murtala Nyako has dismissed allegations of discrimination against Christians levelled against his government as fictitious, saying he was not a religious bigot. The governor said that during his tenure, adherents of all religious faiths have been given equal rights to practise their beliefs without hindrance as provided by the Nigerian Constitution, adding that the accusation of any outstanding C-of-O of any Christian group in Adamawa State whichthe governor refused to sign is utterly false. The governor’s position was made known through a press statement signed by his director of press and Public Affairs, Mallam Ahmad Sajo. The governor noted with concern the deliberate falsehood being promoted by a group called Christian Elders Forum of Northern States which alleged that the government of Adamawa State was discriminating against Christian minorities. “This is n ...
Military May Have Been Compromised, Says U.S. AS Nigerians in the US, under different organisations and groups, continue to clamour for the rescue of the 274 Chibok schoolgirls abducted by Boko Haram over a month ago, the US government has expressed the concern that the terrorists may have infiltrated the Nigerian military. Speaking at the US Congress, during the week, a top Department of Defense official, Alice Friend, said the US was concerned about the possible infiltration of Boko Haram terrorists in the Nigerian military. The alleged compromising of the Nigerian military had made global news when the Amnesty International claimed the military was informed four hours earlier before the Chibok school attack that led to the abduction of the girls, but that the military did nothing. Even before that, a sitting Nigerian governor, Murtala Nyako of Adamawa State, had also made similar allegation in the US at a White House meeting presided over by President Barack Obama’s National Security Adviser, NSA Sus ...
With these daily happenings in and around the North Eastern part of Nigeria, I can only say God is vindicating Murtala Nyako for his memo
The Yorubas have a proverb. They say: “A witch cried out yesterday and a child died today. Who does not know that it was the witch who killed the child?” Some people have gone to great lengths to declare that if President Jonathan dares to run for re-election, they would make Nigeria ungovernable. Some, like Murtala Nyako, have even gone as far as threatening a civil-war. It is, therefore, not far-fetched to conclude that with the election only a stone-throw away, much of the turmoil we are witnessing in Nigeria today is the handiwork of the anti-Jonathan brigade. Goodluck Jonathan must be the most vilified president in the history of Nigeria. He is abused and bad-mouthed with ferocious intensity. This really has nothing to do with his record in office. He is by no means the worst president Nigeria has ever seen. As a matter of fact, he is one of the better ones. True; he has not been able to address the age-old problem of corruption. Nevertheless, Nigeria has been making giant strides under his admin ...

STILL ON THE CASE OF THE ABDUCTED CHIBOK GIRLS: From Borno Dan Kanuri wrote: "The Abducted Girls...Who is really fooling who?! We should be asking some very pertinent questions now: 1. How many students are in that village school that 230 of them were kidnapped in just one night raid? 2. Are they all boarding students? 3. Why did it take the school authorities/Borno State government almost one week to realize that the figure of the supposedly abducted students was no longer 124? 4. Is it that easy to escape from Boko Haram that almost 40 of the girls were able to flee? 5. How did they find their way home from the supposed forest that they were taken to? 6. Why did the Principal of the school recant after giving information to the military authorities that soldiers rescued some of the girls? I'm seriously persuaded that the Principal has not told the whole truth. She just might be under some kind of pressure or influence. The Borno State governor (and by extension his Adamawa counterpart, Murtala Nyako) mu ...
To me, Murtala Nyako's take or anybody's take on the Nigerian insurgency must be assumed right unless proven incorrect. While Boko Haram is a brand, unless our security establishment find the serpent and crush its head permanently compromising it, the Government's fight against the insurgency is a franchise, as aptly so described by Governor Murtala Nyako. Both are succeeding in some way. Boko Haram is "winning" by scoring more hits scotfree, and JTF is costing (I did not say GETTING I said COSTING) more money, and the Federal Government is under pressure. Without getting clues, only unfounded theories fly with one thing clear. GOVERNMENT HAS FAILED TO DEFEAT Boko Haram. Every one can believe what he pleases. I do not believe that it is the North undermining Jonathan. But I also do not believe that it is Jonathan destroying the North. I think President Jonathan is genuinely worried but is reluctant to take his security chiefs to task. Also a fact, there is lack of capacity to separate and manage the eff . ...
Al-Makura blasts Taraba gov over insurgency allegation Nasarawa State government yesterday berated Taraba state acting Governor Garba Umar over a publication credited to him in one of the national dailies where he was quoted to have confirmed that the insurgents who attacked Wukari town of Taraba state were not from Benue but Nasarawa State. The state government in a statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary to Governor Al-Makura, Iliyasu Ali Yakubu and made available to Nigerian Pilot Sunday described the comments as unfortunate, misleading and a calculated attempt to politicize the ongoing crisis between herdsmen and farmers in the area. He expressed surprised that the Taraba state governor who could advance a more appropriate means to his Adamawa State counterpart, Murtala Nyako, to channel his (Nyako) grievances with the Federal Government, could turn around to accuse and denigrate Nasarawa State on the same issue of insecurity on the pages of newspaper. The statement said, “The state government ...
Adamawa State Governor Murtala Nyako has become one of the first officials to react to the sack of President Goodluck Jonathan's Special Adviser Ahmed Gulak. Speaking through his director of press, the governor sympathized with the already former President's political adviser over the removal. Nyako expressed the opinion that Gulak turned himself into Jonathan's spokesman instead of acting as his adviser. "But today, the real presidential spokesman has spoken by showing the exit route to him (Gulak) unceremoniously." Adamawa leader concluded that Gulak should learn a lesson from this move, which reads that the nature of power is transient.

Why we cannot allow Marwa, Gundiri to contest in PDP - Ardo Dr. Umar Ardo, a PDP gubernatorial aspirant in Adamawa State in 2011, has challenged the process that threw up Murtala Nyako as the party’s flag bearer and is currently pursuing the case at the Supreme Court. He talks about his case, the PDP and Adamawa politics. Excerpts: You were one of those who objected to a change in the leadership of the PDP, now that a new leadership is in place, how would you say it has fared? As Adamawa State PDP stakeholders, we tried in our own way to give Alhaji Bamanga Tukur all the political support we could at his hour of need. If that is what you term as objecting to change in the party leadership, then we plead guilty. But what else could we have done other than to, at least, have the home front stand by him? We reasoned that even if we couldn’t save him, we must not be among those who abandoned him or who stood by and watched while his political enemies were destroying him. So we acted. That was enough poli ...
Adamawa State Governor,Murtala Nyako has become the latest noise maker in the country
APC Governors including Rochas Okorocha of Imo state, Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti, Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun State, Babatunde Fashola of Lagos, Aliyu Wamakko of Sokoto, Murtala Nyako of Adamawa, Abdulfatah Ahmed of Kwara and Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo State, today April 16th paid a visit to Monday morning Nyanya blast victims at the Asokoro General Hospital in Abuja. They sympathized with the patients and condemned the incessant attacks going on in the country. During a brief press statement that followed their visit, the governors asked the Federal Government to step up in its responsibilities as r
Imagine the northern governors unanimously against Governor Murtala Nyako of Adamawa State over his memo. I remain with murtala Nyako until the governos and the Federal Government prove him wrong and provide us with information on those behind crimanals and the supposes.
Alert! Over the recent withdrawal of Governor Murtala Nyako's police security at Adamawa State Government House, whatever happen to him Federal Government must be responsible. Nigerians, civil society organisations in Nigeria and international communities and agencies should take note!
CAPITAL MATTERS (Monday, April 28) Murtala Nyako and the rest of us (1) All through the Easter weekend and beyond, I was assailed with several calls from irate Nigerians, mostly of the former Eastern Nigeria extraction who felt endangered, urging me to respond in kind to what they saw as the irrational and dangerous memorandum which Governor Murtala Nyako of Adamawa State had addressed to his counterparts in the Northern states. I had understood their feelings as well as their fears but had, out of experience, refrained from doing what I believed would have been akin to replicating the popular story of the mad man and an angry farmer. This farmer, as the over-told story goes, had finished his day’s work at his farm at the other side of the village stream and had stopped at the stream on his way back home to have a deserved bath. Discarding and dropping his clothes on a ridge beside the stream, he waded in and moved off to an area where the stream was deepest to have a full dose of the refreshing water. ...
Controversial letter: Nyako insists he will not apologize, carpets Northern Governors: Governor Murtala Nyako ...
A former military governor of Lagos State, Brig. Gen. Mohammed Marwa has berated the Adamawa State Governor, Murtala Nyako, over his memo to northern governors. Marwa, who spoke to journalists in Yola, the Adamawa State capital, on Wednesday, asked the governor to shut up and stop beating the drums of war. Nyako, however, dismissed Marwa's comments as the vituperation of a hireling of the Presidency. Marwa earlier described Nyako's tirade against the Federal Government, as an embarrassment to the military in which he served before joining politics. The retired army general turned politician, warned northerners and other Nigerians engaged in beating the drums of war to consider the consequences of their conduct and utterances which tilt toward inciting the public. Marwa's comments followed the tone set by the apex northern socio-political group the Arewa Consultative Forum, the Northern Elders Forum and a former Military governor of Kaduna State, Col. Dangiwa Umar (retd). The ACF, NEF and Umar, had earlier ...

ADAMAWA PDP'S POLITICS OF NYAKO'S SUCCESOR Billy Graham Abel Adamawa State is on the march again. The President is expected on a visit to the State and juggernauts of the opposition All Progressives Congress are expected to formally restore themselves in the People's Democratic Party (PDP). It promises to be a tough hurdle for the PDP, having lost Governor Murtala Nyako to the opposition, and as is well known in Nigerian politics, the incumbent tends to determine the direction of the entire political entity. But Adamawa is different. It has a history of derailment of incumbents to humiliating defeats. In 1983, Bamanga Muhammed Tukur swept Gongola State then, like a hurricane and toppled Abubakar Barde. In 2007, Boni Haruna was not toppled but, power was wrested from the Boni Haruna's camp in the PDP, in the well recorded feud between President Obasanjo and his Vice President Atiku Abubakar, whose confidant and protege then, Boni Haruna was. In deed that is how Murtala Nyako journeyed from his farm in Sebo ...

Gov. Murtala Nyako: "With military check points mounted everywhere in far greater numbers than we had during the civil war, with only the President, the Vice President and their key staff and Governors of (Northern?) states on one hand and the Nigerian Military on the other - who pass these points unchecked, we could safely assume that it is one of these two groups who convey these weapons up country from the Port(s) after Custom and Security clearance" - Querry: Who are these state governors? Are you not one of them? Can we then conclude that some of the governors in the North don't wish Nigerians live?
Adamawa State Governor,Murtala Nyako has blasted the Presidency once again over its reaction to his controversial memo which alleges genocide against the north by President Jonathan’s regime. Nyako’s statement issued by his spokesman ,Ahmad Sajoh in reaction to the fury from the presidency over the memo said “The response by the Presidency

That Boko Haram is ravaging the north today, is simply because northern leaders have failed their people. I sometimes laugh when people always rob it on President Jonathan. I am not a fan of the president, but in recent time, he has been made an excuse by all those who have failed. When BH started, if the likes of Baba Mangoro, Murtala Nyako and other leaders from the north had come together and map out ways of preventing an escalation of violence, it when it was still at an infant stage, we won't be where we are today. But they were busy with politics and could not withstand one another. It is disappointing that Murtala Nyako will stoop to the level he did and make such assertions. Nobody is committing genocide in the north, the north and its leaders is killing its self and its people. Until those who call themselves leaders of this polarised region start acting like one, peace will continue elude that region. And if the leaders will not rise up, what of the youths? NB: Dr. Doyin Okupe and Ahmed Gulak, . ...

Adamawa State Governor Murtala Nyako is so senseless and far less than any thinkable animal. I pity Adamawa State if this is the only person to rule them at this pertinent moment of Nigerian history. Murtala Nyako is the worst fool on the surface of the earth and is so loose from anything reasonable. His last missive to the Northern Governors' Forum is an eye opener to this simple fact. I am of the humblest opinion that this mentally deranged and dishonourable ex-militaritian should immediately be handed over to an emergency unit of a vibrant psychiatric orphanage. He is, as I presently think, an unreasonably dead head...

NYAKO, SHETTIMA, GAIDAM TO INEC: EMULATE AFGHANISTAN, HOLD POLLS IN North East Category: Lead stories Published on Thursday, 10 April 2014 05:02 Written by Kamalddeen Abdulkareem Zango Hits: 4100 The Independent National Electoral Commission [INEC] should to take a cue from Afghanistan’s Independent Election Commission which courageously held the country’s presidential and provincial elections last Saturday despite strong threats from Taliban insurgents, governors of the three North Eastern states which are under emergency rule urged yesterday. Governors Kashim Shettima of Borno, Ibrahim Gaidam of Yobe and Murtala Nyako of Adamawa also said there is absolutely no reason to even contemplate an extension of the state of emergency in any of the three states. The governors issued a joint statement through their spokesmen; Ahmad Sajoh for Nyako, Abdullahi Bego for Gaidam and Isa Gusau for Shettima. They said: “Afghanistan and its people were celebrated worldwide for. liberating themselves from the scourg ...
In school those days my GOVT teacher taught us those the YOUTHS ARE THE LEADERS OF TOMMORROW. I felt happy because I thought at last "people like I who's got eyes for politics would rule one day". But these days,I feel the opposite. Those in power, never want to leave there. Men who had been in power in Nigeria in the 70's and 80's are still in power today or aim to get back to power in one way or another. An example Is SEN DAVID MARK,he was a military governor in the early 80's and please what the *** is he doing at the senate?Maybe by 2019 he would also vie for the presidency. Murtala Nyako was also a governor at that time.Today he is the Adamawa State Governor. This man is at least 72yrs old.At his age,he ought to simply go back and return to his village to enjoy the money he had LOOTED over the time. But he is here today LOOTING the more and may also want to become the president in the nearest future.Maybe when he is 90. Bamangar Tukur was Gongola State governor in 1983 and today is the chairman of NIGE ...
After claiming that Jonathan extended Emergency rule in Adamawa for political reasons, Nyako makes a u-turn Following renewed attacks by Boko Haram terrorists in three states were President Jonathan declared emergency rule, Adamawa State Governor, Murtala Nyako has called for other measures to curb the attacks or the Federal Government will face protests from people of the states where Boko Haram operate. Incidentally, when President Jonathan extended the emergency rule in Adamawa State, Nyako raised alarm through paid adverts and commentaries that Jonathan took the step for political reasons. He was vehemently supported by the National leadership of APC. Nyako claimed that the security crisis in Adamawa State did not warrant the extension. Nyako told newsmen in Yola Thursday over recent attacks in the affected states, that the authorities needed to do more to allay the fears of the public who have started getting tired of excuses. .The Governor revealed that people were agitated and might start coming ou ...
TIME TO PAUSE AND PONDER: SENTIMENTS APART. The Governor of Adamawa State, a retired officer of the Nigerian Navy (General in ranking), Murtala Nyako, has been reported as saying that the attacks in Adamawa, Bornu and Yobe States are " either . . . controlled by unknown fellows or unknown Boko Haram strategic Commander in the defence system or is being stage- managed.” This view worths being critically examined, every sentiments apart. Are there moles in our defence system working for the insurgents? Moles are very dangerous and always try to be clinical and clean in their operations and activities to avoid being detected. Mr. President should think seriously of an overhaul of the country`s security system. There is no time to waste in finding effective and sustainable solutions to the insurgency in the country. History beckons on you, Mr. President.
.as a matter of fact, not only Post-primay Schools Management Board can be said to have such problems rather many bonafide citizens of Adamawa State believe that the unwarranted and unofficial endosement of a pro-fulani agenda is supported by the government of Murtala Nyako - The Pioneer Newspaper Feb 9
***THE DOUBLE STANDARDS OF CERTAIN MISFIT NORTHERN POLITICIANS* "Adamawa Governor, Murtala Nyako, says: “we must stop President Goodluck Jonathan’s attempt to go for second term, as that will lead to civil war.” Who exactly are the “we” Nyako is talking to here and who is going to start this civil war? Senator Joseph Waku of the ACF (Arewa Consultative Forum) says: “President Jonathan should not even contemplate making any move to contest the 2015 election because such will be catastrophic.” I am curious as to what the catastrophe would be. Junaid Mohammed says there will be mayhem in Nigeria should President Goodluck Jonathan and the PDP rig the 2015 election. Junaid is a Second Republic politician. When Northern Shehu Shagari rigged the election in 1983 and won by a “moonslide,” Junaid did not declare mayhem on Nigeria at the time. When the election was massively rigged for Northern Yar’Adua in 2007, we did not hear of mayhem from the likes of Junaid. But with the probable re-electio ...

Nigeria’s Oldest Governor, Murtala Nyako in Teen Sex Escapade Story by huhuadmin Last Updated: Tuesday, March 08, 2011 Governor and 17 year old Aisha B. Dauda Adamawa’s dictator governor, Murtala Haman Yero Nyako has so far spent over N100million from the state resources on teenage girls for fun and sometimes travelling with them to as far as the United States and Germany where there will be absolute ‘secrecy’. As a result, according to a very credible insider, two of the governor’s teenage girl friends are now university dropouts as they could not concentrate in their studies because they are always with the governor everywhere he goes either officially or privately. One of the victims of Nyako’s unbridled sexual life, a seventeen year old Aisha B. Dauda, whose exclusive picture with Nigeria’s oldest governor, seating on his lap in a chartered aircraft to the United States (see photo above) clearly demonstrate how irresponsible Mr. Nyako is and how he has wasted Adamawa’s resources over t ...
Soni Daniel, Regional Editor, North As the 2015 elections draw nearer, political gladiators in the different parties have begun strengthening their positions with a view to gaining an edge over their opponents. The situation is already playing out itself in Adamawa State, where the governor, Murtala Nyako, has drawn a battle line with the Political Adviser to President Goodluck Jonathan, Alhaji Ahmed Gulak, who happens to come from that agrarian state in the North-east. Although Nyako has made it abundantly clear that he is not running for any public office after next year, he has nonetheless taken up the gauntlet to challenge those who try to impugn him and his administration. He does not allow any careless statement or loose talk about him and his government to go unchallenged. Gulak, a lawyer, who is one of the close associates of Jonathan, must have innocuously played into Nyako’s hands when he tried to impress upon Nigerians that the one-term pact allegedly signed by his boss with some northern pol ...

SO JONATHAN REALLY SIGNED ONE-TERM AGREEMENT WITH OBASANJO Fresh facts have emerged in President Goodluck Jonathan's single term pact agreement saga: “We had an agreement with Jonathan for him to run only in 2011. Obasanjo assured us that Jonathan would only run for a term. The agreement is with the Niger State governor and he can produce it. “Jonathan should be a man of honour and stick to the agreement he signed with the northern governors. This country needs leaders, who are honest, so that they can be trusted and respected. "Jonathan was number 73 on the list of those who signed the agreement and he cannot now turn round to deny what he validly endorsed. "Governor Murtala Nyako of Adamawa has finally confirmed what Niger State governor, Babangida Aliyu, that President Jonathan actually signed an agreement to serve for a single term of four years. Tiv/Fulani Herdsmen Clash Has Caused Monumental Damage- Benue State Government The Senior Special Assistant on Media to the Benue state governor, Mr Cletus Akwaya, on Friday shed light on the lingering crisis between Fulani herdsmen and Tiv local farmers in Benue state “which has been on for three years and has caused damage of monumental proportion”. He noted that the “Fulani herdsmen do their business by grazing cattle and often times the cattle find themselves in the farmlands and come in contact with the farmers and (most times) triggers violent reactions especially the farmers when they have their crops destroyed” adding that “they engage the herdsmen.” He said the quest for seeking of greener pastures for cattle by the Fulani herdsmen has “often times brought the two groups to clashes” insisting that it “has caused damage of monumental proportion”. Mr Akwaya further noted that the clash between the two groups had led to “destruction of property, massive killings and massive dis ...

OUR FATHER HAS GONE MAD! I don‘t want to believe the statement being credited to Murtala Nyako that President Jonathan‘s second term would lead to civil war. I know that the legitimate ambition of Jonathan has sent alot of persons to the Intensive Care Unit of some (psychatric) hospitals, but I believe that even the person with the worst case of mental case still has some elements of sanity in them. That‘s why you can hardly see mad people defecating publicly, they know it‘s bad. Governor Nyako may have developed high blood pressure because of Jonathan but predicting and possibly instigating a civil war because of his ambition is highly regretable. He‘s defecating publicly and it‘s so shameful. Is Nyako not yet done and tired with the havoc being caused by Boko Haram in his state and environs? What will he stand to gain in an event of a civil war? Will he become the president then?If he truely made that comment, then he‘s not only a huge dissapointment to the people of Adamawa State but to his ...
Why all these frenzied attempts to intimidate President Jonathan out of the 2015 presidential contest by the likes of Babangida Aliyu, Murtala Nyako, Olusegun Obasanjo and others who have opted for blackmail over a purported document signed by him not to go for a constitutionally guaranteed second term? Even if they had intimidated him into signing any such dubious document in a closet at any point in time, is he accountable to them or to us the generality of the Nigerian people? If Jonathan has been that inconsequential as they had been trying so hard to show, why not prove it by allowing him contest in the PDP and then beating him silly at the election? Or do they still persist in their belief that Nigeria belongs to them?

Gov. Murtala Nyako of Adamawa on Monday commended the people of Yobe for the success of Saturday’s local government elections in the state.
***The Worst Governors of 2013 (The First Three)*** We are at the grand finale series of the worst State Governors in Nigeria. The whole idea is not to blackmail anybody but to make them know they should and must improve. It is to make them know what people think of them. So we will start from the third runner up. (3) The third worst State Governor in Nigeria is Kogi State Governor, Idris Wada. Since becoming governor no one can pin point what he has done in the area of human or infrastructural development. Reckless, his convoy had an accident twice within a short while, one killing his ADC and the other killing the former ASUU boss. Wada like his predeccessor Ibrahim have not been able to do what Prince Abubakar Audu did in Kogi State. Wada is the third worst governor in Nigeria. (2) The second worst governor in Nigeria is Murtala Nyako. The old man hasn’t done much in his State. One would think as an old man, Murtala Nyako should do something different for posterity to remember him. Murtala Nyako is b ...
THE WORST GOVERNORS OF 2013. (Continuations) (5) Murtala Nyako of Adamawa State is number 5 worst governor on our list. Being an old man one would think the man would do something spectacular to leave a legacy for his people. Nyako did nothing. He has been busy throughout this year fighting the president. That is more important to him than his people. (4) Gabriel Suswan of Benue State and Isa Yuguda of Bauchi State. These people have made it to number 4 of the worst governors in Nigeria. Suswan has not been able to pay salaries, even to primary school teachers. In the area of development, not much is on ground. Benue is still one of the poorest states in Nigeria in terms of infrastructures. Since 1999 Benue State has been lucky with governor and Gabriel Suswan is the worst of them all. Isa Yuguda was once quoted as saying former governor Muazu has done everything, so there is no need to do anything. Muazu was overwhelmingly voted in the first term despite leaving the PDP to join the ANPP. He would have lo ...
CRISIS: (1) Attahiru Bafarawa says Wamakko will only be a member. (2) Ibrahim Shekarau insist he is the leader of the party and Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso is a stranger. (3) Buba Marwa prefers to destroy the APC than have Murtala Nyako as its leader. (4) Belgore has told Bukola Saraki to look for another structure. (5 Rotimi Amechi has completely lost out. APC leaders lack human face, it won't be long before Nigerians realise that with APC government at the Centre we might be forced to pay tax (Lagosians will tell you better how they're groaning under a heavy tax burden) before we sleep in our homes or GO AND DIE!
As the political battle of wits continue to gain ground, Adamawa State Governor, Murtala Nyako has heaped attacks on Presidential Political Adviser, Ahmed Gulak and Senior Special Assistant to the President on Public Affairs, Dr Doyin Okupe. The governor warned the duo against facing his administration in their different analyses of issues in the political arena. The Governor said contrary to repeated insinuations, there was no way that he would return to the ruling PDP, saying that his defection has been concluded. In a pronouncement on his behalf by his director press, Mr Ahmad Sajoh, the governor claimed that comments credited to both aides on happenings in Adamawa State were untrue and reflected their level of ignorance. He said: “The good thing about Gulak’s statement is that he displayed so much ignorance about Adamawa State in the paucity of his knowledge. When you have an ignorant opponent, you are as good as having no opponent at all .“How could a person like Gulak, who was mentioning ethn ...
Comrade Omobolanle Dickson,The Nigerian media have been charged to ensure that they do not promote the reign of impunity and lawlessness among the political class in the governance of the country, even as they should be bold to expose their evil deeds. Adamawa State Governor, Vice Admiral Murtala Nyako, who played host to Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Adamawa State chapter, led by its Chairman, Salisu Abubakar, who were on Christmas homage yesterday, said Nigerian media needed to effectively and efficiently played its constituted role as spelt out in the constitution for the stability of the country. The governor charged the media to be fearless to expose the atrocities being perpetrated by the political class, saying that would help to checkmate excesses in the polity. According to him, for Nigeria to sustain a stable polity, the media must be alert to its responsibilities to the society, without which no meaningful progress could be achieved if impunity and lawlessness were allowed to reign in the ...

TRANSFORMATION AGENDA ON COURSE INDEED: Just read in one of the dailes this morning where Governor Murtala Nyako of Adamawa State is accusing GEJ administration of being unserious in tackling insecurity posed by Boko Haram in six North East states by proposing a budget of N2b of counterpart funding in the 2014 budget while at the same time proposing N3b for Nollywood. Is anybody still in doubt about the veracity of OBJ allegation of aiding insecurity levelled against GEJ in his letter? Surely, this is a fact of the transformation agenda that lends credence to the state of anomie that we are

‘APC, New-PDP merger imperative for change in polity’ Written by SEYE OLUMIDE Chief Olorunfunmi Bashorun, former Secretary to the Lagos State Government in the Second Republic, a member of the 2005 Constituent Assembly and currently chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), told SEYE OLUMIDE recent developments in the polity Nigeria show that Nigeria is witnessing a political change. THE people of the South are concerned about the ongoing fraternity between the APC and the New-PDP; aren’t you concerned, too? It is a new development in the country and I believe Nigeria is in transition politically. Our democracy is in transition and this is part of the transition and through this, Nigeria would arrive at its destination. We cannot be talking of progressives and conservatives now because when you look at the political parties, I think they were compelled to align for the sake of Nigeria and to save Nigeria. I am very sure with the changes taking place, we will soon get there. Is there any sinc ...

You have grown progressively from being the governor of only Niger State to the Executive Premier of Northern Nigeria. I personally admire your new role as the defender of the Northern cause. You have actually dwarfed the 2010 group of IBB and company who floated Alhaji Atiku Abubukar as the then Northern consen ...

SENATOR JUBRIL AMINU TO GOV. MURTALA NYAKO OF Adamawa State “They are kicking against the extension of the state of emergency because somebody was enjoying security vote. The security vote was taken away and he cannot get it back, that is why he is making that noise. State of emergency was declared in public interest following the situation in three states. A lot of people did not like it at first, but this is leadership. People may not like something, but if you feel it is good for them, you do it”.
-hot-news- 500 Bishops Vow To Join G7 Governors. The Bishops and Eminent Clerics Forum of Nigeria, Niger Delta chapter, has vowed to join the G7 Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governors to end “impunity in national institutions.” The group said that it would no longer fold its hands, and allow few individuals to run Nigeria into tribal and religious war based on religion affiliation. The leader of the group, His Eminence, Jones Ode Eruie, made the disclosure, yesterday in Yola during his visit to Governor Murtala Nyako. He said that the traditional institution in the country has failed completely by engaging in partisan politics which has made it impossible for them to call leaders that are beating war drums to order, because of selfish interest. Boko Haram:. Adamawa Governor Murtala Nyako angry with Jonathan over extension of emergency rule
The Tension on the incumbent party and the immediate past, is more than that of a murderer suspect in court, all for the credibility of Senator Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja. Their strategy is "we know Ladoja is good and capable, but he has done his part, so let him be "Afobaje" (godfather) and not "oba" (contestant). He's "Agbalagba" (Oldman)". Help me ask them how does that concern them? Mugabe is not "Agbalagba" to win the heart of his people, which shows the success of his Administration? We have Martin Elechi in Ebonyi, Murtala Nyako in Adamawa. I remember we sometimes had Ayodele Fayose in Ekiti, @ early 40s. But the youth became a disappointment while the old Mugabe is impressive. MY LETTER TO APC AND PDP. Dear APC and PDP, Please do your homework very well. We don't have time to criticize you, you still have this year and next year, wether you do well or not, it's left to Oyo people. Just start preparing your handing over to ACCORD PARTY.
