THE ADAB "O People, and understand words which I convey to you. I leave behind me two things, the QURAN and my example, the SUNNAH and if you follow these you will never go astray." The Prophet's last Sermon delivered on the Ninth Day of Dhul Hijjah 10 A.H in the Uranah Valley of Mount Arafat. Who is the model for humanity? Most positively, it is none other than the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh). "You have indeed in the messenger of Allah a good example for those of you who look to Allah and the Last Day, and remember Allah always." (Qur'an 33:21). The prophet (pbuh) engaged the Qur'an at a deep spiritual level, lady 'Aisha, Mother of The Faithful described his character as a likeness of the Qur'an. In her words she said, "He was the Qur'an walking." The Prophet's Sunnah constitutes a major source of guidance for Muslims and the second source of Islamic jurisprudence. "And whatever the Messenger gives you, take it, and whatever he forbids you, leave it." (Qur'an 59:7). Undoubtedly, The first source of Islamic j ...

Call of Ibrahim (Alaihis salaam) -By Muhammad Al-Shareef When Ibrahim (Alaihis salaam) completed the structure of the Kabah, Allah (Subhanahu wa ta'ala) commanded him to call the people to Hajj. Ibrahim (Alaihis salaam) pleaded, "O Allah! How shall my voice reach all of those people?" Allah (Subhanahu wa ta'ala) told him that his duty was only to give the call and it was up to Allah to make it reach the people. Ibrahim (Alaihis salaam) then climbed Mount Arafat and called out in his loudest voice, "O People! Verily Allah has prescribed upon you Hajj, so perform Hajj." Allah (Subhanahu wa ta'ala) revealed in the Qur'an: "And proclaim the Hajj among mankind. They will come to thee on foot and (mounted) on every camel, lean on account of journeys through deep and distant mountain highways" (Surah Al-Hajj, Ayah 28). To this very day millions upon millions of Muslims continue to answer the call of Prophet Ibrahim (Alaihis salaam). Perhaps this year you shall be amongst those who answer the call. The 9th day of Dhul-Hijjah (the Month of Hajj) is called the Day of Arafat. This day is the culminating event of the annual Islamic pilgrimage to Mecca, Saudi Arabia. The Day of Arafat falls on the 2nd day of pilgrimage rituals. At dawn of this day, nearly 2 million Muslim pilgrims will make their way from Mecca to a nearby hillside and plain called Mount Arafat and the Plain of Arafat. It was from this site that the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, gave his famous Farewell Sermon in his final year of life. During the entire day, from dawn until sunset, Muslim pilgrims stand in earnest supplication and devotion, praying for God's abundant forgiveness. Tears are shed readily as those who gather make repentance and seek God's mercy, recite words of prayer and remembrance, and gather together as equals before their Lord. Muslims around the world who are not participating in the pilgrimage often spend this day in fasting and devotion.
Name: ʿUmar Ibn Al-Khaṭtāb (عمر ابن الخطاب) Born: 586, Mecca Died: 644, Medina The second Muslim caliph (634 - 644) In 644, at zenith of his power, Umar was assassinated. His assassination was carried out by Persians, in response to the Muslim conquest of Persia. The assassination was planned several months earlier. In 644 Umar went for Hajj in Mecca, the assassins started the hoopla of Umar's possible death that year, and the massive crowd of the congregation was used by the conspirators as a veil to hide themselves. It is related that when Umar stood at Mount Arafat he heard a voice saying: "O Caliph, never again will you stand on the Mount of Arafat". A companion of Umar, Jabir bin Mutaam is reported to have said: We saw a man standing at the top of the hill and crying: "Verily that is the last Hajj of Umar. He will never come here again". During one of rituals of Hajj, the Ramy al-Jamarat (stoning of the Devil), some one threw a stone on Umar that wounded his head, a voice was heard t ...

Lesson 3rd:Abrahim a.s story There are 2 important ingredients for Ibrahim’s suc-cess in this task : 1. He took all necessary means to complete his task; he went to the highest mountain at that time, mount Arafat, and called with his loudest voice. 2. He was sincere! He sincerely believed that Allah (Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala) would deliver his call to all mankind. These 2 ingredients - sincerity and hard work - are the ingredients for true success in dunya and akhira. One of the most respected scholars I know of our time gave me advice I’ll never forget it: “have good intentions and work hard”. I’ve carried this message wherever I’ve gone and it’s a formula of success I try to live by. Write this message down, place it somewhere on your desk, and remind yourself daily to have good in-tentions and work hard in whatever you do and see how Allah (Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala) will open the doors of success for you, inshaAllah!

The hajj, an annual pilgrimage to Mecca, Saudi Arabia, is the largest pilgrimage in the world. More than 2.5 million Muslims are expected to perform the hajj, a religious duty to be carried out at least once in their lifetime by every able-bodied Muslim who can afford to do so. The pilgrimage is a demonstration of solidarity between Muslim people, as well as their submission to Allah. This year, the hajj falls between Nov. 4 to 9. The hajj is associated with the life of Islamic Prophet Muhammad and during the time pilgrims join processions and perform a series of rituals. The rituals include: walking counter-clockwise seven times around the Kaaba — the cube-shaped building which acts as the Muslim direction of prayer — running back and forth between the hills of Al-Safa and Al-Marwah, drinking from the Zamzam Well, standing vigil at Mount Arafat, and throwing stones in a ritual Stoning of the Devil. At the end of hajj, pilgrims shave their heads, perform a ritual of animal sacrifice, and celebrate th ...
