Name: ʿUmar Ibn Al-Khaṭtāb (عمر ابن الخطاب) Born: 586, Mecca Died: 644, Medina The second Muslim caliph (634 - 644) In 644, at zenith of his power, Umar was assassinated. His assassination was carried out by Persians, in response to the Muslim conquest of Persia. The assassination was planned several months earlier. In 644 Umar went for Hajj in Mecca, the assassins started the hoopla of Umar's possible death that year, and the massive crowd of the congregation was used by the conspirators as a veil to hide themselves. It is related that when Umar stood at Mount Arafat he heard a voice saying: "O Caliph, never again will you stand on the Mount of Arafat". A companion of Umar, Jabir bin Mutaam is reported to have said: We saw a man standing at the top of the hill and crying: "Verily that is the last Hajj of Umar. He will never come here again". During one of rituals of Hajj, the Ramy al-Jamarat (stoning of the Devil), some one threw a stone on Umar that wounded his head, a voice was heard t ...

Hadees pak “Man Kunto Maula fa hazaa Ali-un Mawla” *Quran 5:67 (“O Apostle! deliver what has been revealed to you from your Lord; and if you do it not, then you have not delivered His message, and Allah will protect you from the people;surely Allah will not guide the unbelieving people.”) The above ayat was revealed at Ghadeer-e-Khum, when the holy Prophet (pbuh) was returning from his last Hajj. (Ref: Tafseer al Kabir by Fakhr al Din Mohammed ibn Umar al razi (1357/1938), Umdatul Qari fi Sharh Sahih al Bukhari - by Al Ayni, Tafsir al Nisaburi, v6 P194) GHADEER E KHUM REF WIKIPIDIA; A few months before his death, Muhammad – living in the city of Medina – made his last religious pilgrimage to Mecca in a trip referred to as The Farewell Pilgrimage. There, atop Mount Arafat, he addressed the Muslim masses in what came to be known as The Farewell Sermon. After completion of the Hajj, or religious pilgrimage, Muhammad turned back towards his home in Medina. On the trip there, he stopped at the pond ...
My Hajj Experience Nigeria we hail thee, corruption is thy genome! Though creed and tongue may differ, corruption is Nigeria I can tell you without doubt. The passport front office's first specimen of our decay was a muslim youth who "helped" to catalyse the proccess of getting fhe pp. He was acting as an agent for some obese Immigration cats who sat in their AC-cooled offices deciding who gets his p.p and when and on what condition. They also superintends on the small matters of how the booty would be shared amongst the rank and file, from the gateman to the Comptroller-General. As the adage goes: ibi gbogbo la ti ndana ale, obe lo dun ju 'ra won lo. Dinner is made everywhere but it's sweeter in some places; as it is in Immigration, so is it in the Customs, the Police, and even the Presidency. Baa d'orun ri, a d'Arafa ri. Heaven may be unknown but Mount Arafat (Mecca) is a copy. I have never seen the opulence of Aso Rock or any of the castles occupied by our execuTHIEVES, but my former landlord was a lo ...

Lesson 3rd:Abrahim a.s story There are 2 important ingredients for Ibrahim’s suc-cess in this task : 1. He took all necessary means to complete his task; he went to the highest mountain at that time, mount Arafat, and called with his loudest voice. 2. He was sincere! He sincerely believed that Allah (Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala) would deliver his call to all mankind. These 2 ingredients - sincerity and hard work - are the ingredients for true success in dunya and akhira. One of the most respected scholars I know of our time gave me advice I’ll never forget it: “have good intentions and work hard”. I’ve carried this message wherever I’ve gone and it’s a formula of success I try to live by. Write this message down, place it somewhere on your desk, and remind yourself daily to have good in-tentions and work hard in whatever you do and see how Allah (Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala) will open the doors of success for you, inshaAllah!

The hajj, an annual pilgrimage to Mecca, Saudi Arabia, is the largest pilgrimage in the world. More than 2.5 million Muslims are expected to perform the hajj, a religious duty to be carried out at least once in their lifetime by every able-bodied Muslim who can afford to do so. The pilgrimage is a demonstration of solidarity between Muslim people, as well as their submission to Allah. This year, the hajj falls between Nov. 4 to 9. The hajj is associated with the life of Islamic Prophet Muhammad and during the time pilgrims join processions and perform a series of rituals. The rituals include: walking counter-clockwise seven times around the Kaaba — the cube-shaped building which acts as the Muslim direction of prayer — running back and forth between the hills of Al-Safa and Al-Marwah, drinking from the Zamzam Well, standing vigil at Mount Arafat, and throwing stones in a ritual Stoning of the Devil. At the end of hajj, pilgrims shave their heads, perform a ritual of animal sacrifice, and celebrate th ...
