Zimbabwe needs an urgent solution to mend its ailing economy but it is critically important to hear the truth being said from our political leaders particularly the ruling party Zanu PF. What surprises all sundry is that key issues which are topical are being left out as the work in progress or none and energy is now being shifted on the power struggle. Ironically both ZanuPF and MDC-T are pre-occupied with this struggle of gaining power in either life after Robert Mugabe when he calls it quit in anouncing a possible surprise retirement whereas the Renewal gangsters are pushing for Morgan Tsvangirai's ouster. The country Zimbabwe can continue to suffer an irrepairable damage if a strong contingency plan is not prioritised. We have heard of extremely hefty salaries which noone in the world would have earned, imagine $ 330 000 in earnings excluding allowances, it is a shocking revelation. A drastic measure and earliest solution is required before the wounds become a permanent cancer.
whoever hate my President Morgan Tsvangirai hes my enemy
THIS unvarnished truth about Zimbabwe's economy has finally revealed itself, courtesy of Morgan Tsvangirai, leader of the country's main opposition party, the Movement for Democratic Change (MDC-T). Precipitated by a massively rigged election of July 2013 'won' by President Robert Mugabe, the fact that the country's economy has once again slipped into the abyss is an incontrovertible and stubborn reality. Companies have been shutting down en masse. Those that haven't are struggling to pay bills, chiefly wages. The economy is cash-strapped and a graver crisis is looming. The one sacrosanct secret known to all Zimbabweans is that all the problems bedevilling the economy are premised on politics. The blame rests squarely with the nonagenarian dictator, Robert Mugabe, who has been presiding over a remorselessly corrupt government and holding the country hostage for 34 years. But now, the chickens are coming home to roost, the ailing leader and his sycophants know clearly that his days are numbered. While the ...

Zim faces political legitimacy crisis — Tsvangirai HARARE - Daily News' news editor Gift Phiri (GP) chatted with opposition leader Morgan Tsvangirai (MT) at his Highlands mansion for this exclusive and wide-ranging interview. Find below excerpts of the interview. GP: What’s your take on the current state of the economy? MT: First of all, I think you need to evaluate the current crisis and say what the root cause of that crisis is. To me, it’s a political crisis. The economic crisis is a symptom of the political crisis of legitimacy because that is the one that undermines the confidence in the economy. GP: How do you think the situation can be salvaged? MT: You know for the past five years, the economy was stabilised because of confidence in the economy due to political stability. Now, because of the crisis of legitimacy, as a result of a rigged election, already, it’s a crisis that has undermined economic confidence to the extent that all sectors have now been affected. There is a legitimacy crisi ...
TSVANGIRAI INTERVIEW : BITI IS BANG OUT OF ORDER, & I DONT OWN FARM, ZANU PF ARE OBSESSED WITH ME MDC leader Morgan Tsvangirai has spoken to the Daily News about the internal squabbles, economy and the reported farm. He speaks to Gift Phiri. GP: Coming to squabbles in the MDC, the suspension of the deputy treasurer-general. Do you think due process was followed? MT: Yes, as far as we are concerned due process was followed. There was a resolution of the executive that what the deputy treasurer-general had done had undermined the reputation of the party and therefore it was a disciplinary issue. Once the executive had made that recommendation, the only thing was to go to the council. And council has made a resolution and we have already followed up to set up a tribunal which is going to hear Mr Mangoma’s case. The charges were laid and so the council endorsed. As far as we are concerned, there is an attempt to portray Mr Mangoma as a victim. He has not been found guilty of anything. He is going to face a ...
Zimbabwean civic society and opposition political parties, especially the Movement for Democratic Change led by Morgan Tsvangirai (MDC-T), have had close and warm ties dating back to the formation of the MDC in 1999. It can actually be argued that the MDC itself was a product of civic society organisations in their multiplicity as trade unions, students’ unions and social movements as well as coalitions.
THE FALLEN MAN THE SEPTEMBER CRISIS: PART ONE Today Frank Chikane gives us the insider’s scoop on the ousting of Thabo Mbeki HABO Mbeki returned from Harare in the early hours that Friday. It was September 12, 2008, and he went straight to rest. It had been many days of hard work. Many long working hours. But we believed there had been a victory. At midnight the day before, Mbeki had finally got Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe and leaders of the Movement for Democratic Change opposition factions Morgan Tsvangirai and Arthur Mutam- abara to the negotiation table to initial a global political agreement to begin to set- tle the conflict in Zimbabwe. The triumph had come at the end of a tough week. Just two days before, Mbeki had flown from Harare to Mbabane, Swaziland to brief the troika of the secu- rity body of the Southern African Devel- opment Community (SADC) on his efforts to broker a power-sharing deal. He had arrived in Harare on the Mon- day with a proposal which ...
Kenyan politics revolves around ascending to presidency and it takes Kenyans more time discussing about who's next. If you want to know how hard it is to become President in Africa then ask Kiza Besige, Raila Odinga, Riek Machar and Morgan Tsvangirai. They can mention many ways of how not to reside in state house.
Democracy is all what we are looking forward in our country, Zimbabwe. Morgan Tsvangirai is a man at the moment when we are to talk about this topic. I am not saying he is the only democratic father in the nation, but he one in the forefront at the moment as he is the one who became courageous to challenge Mugabe and he even vectored in the 2008 general elections. Many people thought that in the just ended elections...31 July 2013, the party MDC T is going to walk over, but it turned the other way. Why why why. WADING IN? This is my view, and it may not be shared by others, including my current employers at the Crisis in Zimbabwe Coalition and is certainly not representative of Civil Society, which ever way you conceive it. It is mine opinion, and I am most certainly entitled to it. If you disagree with it, " Ndasiya pfuti kumba saka ngatirovanei nemashoko" ( no physical counselling). The challenges engulfing the MDCT have been public, and in the same way that ZANU PF Succession Politics and conduct of internal process, or the NCA's internal democratic processes have attracted and continue to attract fair comment from those who are seeking democratic alternatives, so too does MDCT's. I was recently asked by a journalist from the Zimbabwe Mail 'Whether Mangoma's suspension was legal'- The following is the long answer, i gave, which the paper quoted in part yesterday: Morgan Tsvangirai is a great leader who has contributed immensely to the struggle for democracy in Zimbabwe, and has embodied for years, a vast ma . ...
MUGABE HAS NO OPTION BUT TO BRING ME BACK INTO GVT SO THAT I CAN FIX THE ECONOMY - TSVANGIRAI MDC-T leader Morgan Tsvangirai yesterday predicted that another coalition government was in the offing as President Robert Mugabe’s Zanu PF government was likely to re-engage the opposition party to rescue the free-falling economy. Addressing party supporters in Mabvuku, Harare, Tsvangirai said Mugabe had “no option than to call me to the negotiating table” for a new Government of National Unity as the MDC-T had a proven record of turning around the comatose economy. The Former Prime Minister, during the inclusive government which ended last July, however, said this time round, he would force Mugabe to implement the agreed items in the new power-sharing pact. “They (Mugabe and Zanu PF) will come, there is nowhere to go,” Tsvangirai told about 2 000 supporters at a rally in Mabvuku yesterday. “They will say to us, ‘come and let us have dialogue and find solutions to our problems’. We will tell them ...

Is it the Politics of Capitalism? Again? Looking at what is happening in MDCT, I cannot help but wonder if we are turning the clock backwards. I'm looking into the history of ZANUPF where questions of why & by whom were Josiah Tongogara and Herbert Chitepo killed. Our politics is very much influenced by the Western world in as much as ZANUPF might publicly loathe them, in the capitals of United Kingdom and other European nations was Mugabe's rise authored. The qualities of leadership the western world are willing to work with are: 1) Those who have love for their ways and means. 2) Those who are willing to follow their blueprints of economics. 3) Those who work hand in hand with Bretton Woods institutions and pliable to their demands. 4) Those distant from the bottom & indifferent ordinary man's needs. Morgan Tsvangirai doesn't fit the above, he is among the Zumas & Malemas of this world. I remember reading an article where US preferred Welshman ahead of Morgan reason being Morgan is too deep into Unionis ...

Sipepa Nkomo blasts party leadership. MDC-T national executive member Dr Samuel Sipepa Nkomo yesterday took a swipe at his party’s senior leadership following a spate of violent attacks on senior members.MDC-T dominated headlines recently when rowdy youths violently attacked the party’s deputy treasurer general Elton Mangoma and youth leader Promise Mkhwananzi in the presence of party President Morgan Tsvangirai. Secretary general Tendai Biti, who was also a target, escaped the wrath of rowdy youths and sought cover in Tsvangirai’s car during the commotion at the party’s Harvest House headquarters a fortnight ago. The two are accused of leading a faction calling for leadership renewal and Tsvangirai ouster ahead of the party’s 2016 congress. Last week, Biti’s house in Harare was petrol bombed by unknown assailants as the leadership wrangle escalates. Dr Nkomo, a council of elders’ member and MP for Bulawayo’s Lobengula constituency, told mourners at a funeral service for former deputy ma . ...
Reports published by the Morgan Tsvangirai led Movement for Democratic Change that the party has paid a South African funeral parlour owned by a Zimbabwean businessman to ferry 22 bodies of Zimbabweans killed under yet unclear circumstances in a South African illegal mining fiasco this week have been proven to be all lies. On Saturday morning the MDC-T South Africa branch and some of its official and unofficial foras ran on line postings hinting that the opposition party has paid Kings and Queens a South African based Zimbabwean funeral parlour to ferry the bodies to its Bulawayo parlour. According to their statement the party vice president Ms Thokozani Khuphe was to receive the bodies in the company of other high ranking party officials in Bulawayo at an unnamed date. An extract of the statement from one of the MDC T's loud online mouths Boaz Mangamiso reads: "Kings & Queens Funeral Parlour will transport the bodies to their respective destinations. Hon Thokozani Khupe and other leaders will receive the ...
MDC-T to act on Mangoma TENSIONS continue to rise in MDC-T amid reports that a charge sheet to punish the party’s deputy treasurer Elton Mangoma for “publicly embarrassing and humiliating” party leader Morgan Tsvangirai is being compiled. Elias Mambo In an interview with the Zimbabwe Independent on Wednesday, the MDC-T’s national chairperson who is also in charge of the disciplinary committee, Lovemore Moyo, said his committee was tasked to compile a charge sheet detailing issues raised in Mangoma’s letter that violated the party’s code of conduct and ethics. “My team has been tasked by the standing committee to prepare a report to be submitted to the national council,” Moyo said. “It is not my committee that will make a decision on whether to charge Mangoma or not but the national council.” Moyo also said the charge sheet would not be based on the letter which Mangoma wrote to Tsvangirai but the process which he took resulting in the issue spilling to the media. “Writing a letter is ...
You know what ladies and gents, we don't have to keep guessing and end up stroking and cursing and insulting each other, at the same time hurting each other. My take is simple, those at HH and on the ground please do this without fail. I think Morgan Tsvangirai, Tendai Biti and Mangoma, whatever his first name is, i don't care because its not important. These 3 and the Top Management of MDC T must address a Press Conference and stop taking us as fools, some of us are not foolish. They have been working together for ages, they know each other in and out, many innocent people have followed them, many have been arrested and others are in jails because of them. Lucky ones migrated, they could have been killed by this murderer, evil satanic man called Robert Mugabe because of them. Many lost their properties, wealth and beings because of what they started. Now they are not worried about all the disturbances, what they worry much is LEADERSHIP. Can they all address us asap and let the world know what is happeni ...

Infighting rocks Tsvangirai party The violent confrontations that have characterised MDC-T infighting have spread outside Harare, amid growing indications that party leader Morgan Tsvangirai is fast losing support in official structures. In Masvingo, party youths allededly told the state media Herald that almost the entire provincial leadership is anti-Tsvangirai and they reportedly seized a car from executive members believed to be aligned to MDC-T deputy treasurer Mr Elton Mangoma, who has become the face of the leadership renewal calls in the opposition. Mr Mangoma and youth leader Mr Promise Mkwananzi were two weeks ago assaulted outside MDC-T headquarters in Harare as Mr Tsvangirai watched, while another youth leader, Mr Solomon Madzore, had to flee into the building to escape the mob. Party secretary-general Mr Tendai Biti survived by scrambling into Mr Tsvangirai's car. Mr Tsvangirai's support in party structures is waning, and in Masvingo - a province in which they fared particularly badly in the ...
Status Update By Mdc Spokesperson Why MDC reunification is impossible: Ncube 25 April 2013 By Guthrie Munyuki Daily News MDC leader Welshman Ncube says a re-unification of the former opposition party is "impossible" and a coalition with the Morgan Tsvangirai-led party very unlikely because he is unprincipled. The MDC split in 2005 because of Tsvangirai's failure to tackle violence and intimidation within the party, and his refusal to accept collective decision making, Ncube says in an interview published on Thursday. “Of course there is a problem. The problems which led to the split remain alive today. They remain unresolved. In fact the cracks are wider today than they were in 2005. The only thing we literally share in common is that we agree that Zanu PF and Mugabe have been bad for the country,” Ncube told the Daily News. “That’s about all that we agree on. We are not in agreement on just about anything and everything else. The things which divided us in 2005 still divide us today. People canno ...
How is Mangoma missing it? Honestly, l am surprised by Elton Mangoma. I really wonder what is going on in his head and making him want to continue playing the clown prince in the politics of the MDC. I said it from the beginning that after the disaster of the reckless plunge Elton made through writing a stupid letter and going onto a publicity blitz calling for Morgan Tsvangirai to go, Elton just had to leave. I have no doubt he is just delaying the inevitable yet subjecting himself to more humiliation. That Mangoma and his cowards of hidden allies decided to take the plunge without doing significant ground work within the party structures, simply struck the death knell to their mission. Mangoma has very few backers within the real MDC structures and therefore shall endure persistent humiliation within the party by the numbers behind Tsvangirai. Mangoma could be reading too much into the sympathy and noise largely coming from outside the MDC, where there are individuals and groups openly and even vindicti ...
Status Update!!! I am not very good in England, sorry, English but i read many links about what Mai Mujuru said, including the clip video posted by maybe the Zimbabwe herald or zbc/tv, whoever. I am very surprised the whole country, ZANU Pf and MDC( what nonsense.) Everyone has joined the factionalism in ZANU Pf and fighting a widow, there hasn't been any mention of Morgan Tsvangirai in the state media meaning everyone think ZANU Pf is good, they are blaming one of their own, praising the papers like there is no tomorrow. Don't be fooled, they are keeping your minds occupied by useless things, there is no mention of blaming the media there, there is no mention of supporting corruption there, unless if you are telling me she is the only corrupt person in ZANU Pf, maybe. Its not long before the wars come out and haunt MDC, through wiring they are busy looking for ways to destroy MDC and Morgan Tsvangirai in particular, be prepared for a tsunami before it comes and keep out of this factionalism and mobilise ...

UNACCOUNTABLE LEADERSHIP A LET DOWN IN ZIMBABWE The country with the highest literacy rate in Africa but among the poorest in the World. Zimbabwe’s leaders (the so called leaders) have failed to distinguish between doing business the right way and the existence of the black market scourge. As we speak the Ministers in charge of Mining and Indigenisation can’t even account for what is coming out of the so called indigenous mining companies. When the Ministers meet with the small scale miners in bars over a “bottle of something “, they are assured of progress at a larger scale and fail to ask papers that show whether the output from those mines have been declared via the correct channels for accountability purposes. One does not need to be a “rocket scientist” to understand that business performance proof is obtained on paper not from the word of mouth spread in bars. The Kasukuweres and Nhemas of this world have failed to understand such entry level finance principles that say an account of inc ...

EU to lift sanctions, but not on Mugabe and Grace THE European Union is to further ease sanctions against Zimbabwe next week, but will keep a travel ban and asset freeze on President Robert Mugabe and his wife, EU sources said on Tuesday. But the EU has held out an olive branch to Mugabe, inviting him to take part in an EU-Africa summit in Brussels in April and granting him an exemption from sanctions to visit Europe. The moves reflect a cautious easing of EU policy towards Zimbabwe 12 years after it first imposed sanctions in protest at human rights abuses and violations of democracy under Mugabe, who has ruled Zimbabwe since independence from Britain in 1980. EU states were divided in their response when Mugabe, 89, won a fifth term as president in an election last July that was endorsed as free by African observers but denounced as fraudulent by the opposition. The overhaul of the EU's policy, after a review, is designed to encourage positive change in Zimbabwe while retaining some leverage over Mugabe ...

Kunewe To Whom It May Concern The quacks of the matter are at this crucial juncture of our democracy and freedom; more than ever do we need a man of steel, zeal and unquestionable thirst for a free and tolerant Zimbabwe none other than Morgan Tsvangirai. We elected this man for a five year term without any pre- conditions the same way we elected you and co. It is irresponsible and naïve to then pour the blame on the President yet you sat on the same table with him making decisions about electoral preparations. Be reminded that the office of the President is elected through the Congress by the people from every corner of Zimbabwe and not by 11 greedy people sitting in comfy chairs at Harvest House. Politics is about numbers and yours surely don’t add up. You worry about 2018 saying there will only be two years between that and 2016; was this not the case when you were elected in 2011, was it not the case when you were elected in 2006?? So what is your problem now? You morn yet you were the person respon ...

Every struggle has its ups and downs and in most cases these ups and downs are the result of jostling for positions of influence. And every struggle has its own casualties. Unlike other political parties the world over whose casualties are lying in graves, the MDCT, undoubtedly Zimbabwe’s most loved party under Zimbabwe’s most loved man Morgan Tsvangirai, is a peaceful political party that detests unconstitutional means of removing incumbent leaders. Sadly, the stolen election of 31st July 2013 have been used as a springboard for some trusted people to make clandestine and manoeuvres in the dark. We acknowledge that the MDCT has its own share of “pretenders” to the throne who would want to ascend to higher office prematurely and the party’s presidency is the main “prize.” And the height of it all is that the gamblers have resorted to outright mudslinging and malice against the person of Mr Morgan Tsvangirai. The recent allegation of embezzlement of party funds and countless other accusations ...

The idea that is being peddled and borrowed from ZANU PF which seeks to suggest that Morgan Tsvangirai has been fighting Mugabe all by himself and that he did so more than anybody else, is not just offensive it is irresponsible and similar to ZANU PF's manipulation of liberation war. Those who want to say that should be informed that there are too many who still walk around with physical scars, dead relatives and no mansions to show for all that. Far too many, far too many and far too many paid the ultimate sacrifice, yet even as they claim that Morgan Tsvangirai is the only hero, they don't realise that for his scars he has mansions and women, to abuse.

As a victim of ZANU PF, when Morgan Tsvangirai was a ZANU PF political commissar, I wonder if anybody would do what he is doing if indeed he has entered into a deal with Mnangagwa for a post Mugabe pact. It is highly possible that Tsvangirai is now working for the other side. I have experience in politics and I have seen this happen many a time. A weekend opposition leader would always use his position to weaken his part so his move to join the ruling party is easier and yet he still gets his position on the other side.
Just to say, a lot of blood and treasure was sacrificed to form and sustain the MDC in the hardest of all days. For Morgan Tsvangirai to now weaken the party and see it as equating to himself is very hard for me to even mouth out.
TSVANGIRAI'S CHILDREN TELL OFF ELIZABETH, CALL HER 'GOLD DIGGER', SENSITIVE MEDICAL CONDITION REVEALED The marriage of the embattled MDC-T leader Morgan Tsvangirai and his 'new' wife Elizabeth Macheka is in shambles as Tsvangirai's close family members and female party bosses have allegedly vowed not to let the two's union resuscitate. It is reported that Tsvangirai's children, who are all not gainfully employed, according to sources, have vowed to Elizabeth that she would never be a recognised 'better half' of their father. Tsvangirai's sons are said to have further accused their father's new wife of being a gold digger, a slur that has also been previously reiterated by other Tsvangirai's close relatives. In October last year, Elizabeth left her husband alone at their Highlands home and accommodated herself at the couple's house in Borrowdale's Philadelphia. After nearly three months of living separately, the Tsvangirais and the Machekas reportedly met several times and tried to solve the two's differen ...

…So Morgan Tsvangirai has the choice of taking his unending and fake political grievances to Cde Mugabe in his capacity as President of Zimbabwe or to Cde Mugabe in his capacity as SADC chairman from mid 2014 or to Cde Mugabe as AU chairman as from January 2015.Whichever choice he opts for on the African political landscape, he certainly will face organizational structures in which Cde Mugabe is an integral and active member. It never rains but it pours for the Westminster Foundation, the UK government, all former white Rhodesian commercial farmers and their errand boy Tsvangirai. Long live Cde Mugabe! If this isnt African Democracy in practice then i dont know what is. Asvotwa ngaarutse.
On Saturday President Morgan Tsvangirai has called all the 210 district chairpersons. Dr Tsvangirai believes that men and women joined MDC solely for the purpose of serving Him. These 210 people shall be subjected to fear at Harvest House. The sickness of fear at HH will be such that men and women shall, rise to their feet to shout hysterical praise, even love, for Save yet in their minds nobody likes him. This post is for those MDC T friends of mine, if you are ZANU Pf, stay out of it for a while, i might be rough to you because you are being led by a moving grave and failing to tell me it must go. Those who say Morgan Tsvangirai must go, its your right to by the law of the land but none of you has ever come open to say who must take care of democracy in Zimbabwe. Having said that, i haven't seen you talking good about the person you want to take over other than Morgan Tsvangirai must go, where???. I am very open to discussion, take criticism but not insult. I have facts and figures why i want him to stay, come tell me your story. I am in the workshop now but will engage whenever time allows, bring your nonsense. I hate one worded sentences, if you want to speak, make minimum 150 words or stay out, i don't talk in parables. Feel free to say anything, this is my wall, no person will intimidate or insult you, its good speaking out but be sensible and express yourselves. I step my foot, Morgan might not be pe ...
Govt In Shocking Expenditure THE cash-strapped government incurred a shocking US$500 million in unauthorised expenditures by its various ministries and departments in a clear indication that the 2013 National Budget sustained a higher deficit than initially projected.Finance and Economic Development Minister Patrick Chinamasa is now battling to regularise the expenditures through the Appropriation Supplementary Bill currently before the National Assembly for consideration and possible approval. But what is more damning is the admission by government that the resultant indebtedness is chocking the operations of suppliers and service providers thereby contributing to the economic crisis. Chinamasa had indicated in his budget statement last month that there were higher expenditures than had been provided for in 2013. The Constitution requires the Minister of Finance to introduce a Bill to condone unauthorised expenditures no later than 60 days after the extent of the expenditure has been established. The co ...
SA Poll Dilemma For ZANU-PF South Africa’s upcoming national elections, where the ruling African National Congress (ANC) will be seeking to extend its rule by another five years might present headaches for ZANU-PF. Speculation is rife over which party ZANU-PF would extend support to with opinion split between the ANC and political newcomers, the Economic Freedom Front (EFF), led by Julius Malema. President Jacob Zuma is seeking a second term in office but faces an onslaught over the manner he has handled the affairs of Africa’s largest economy. Zuma’s main hurdle stems from his lavish lifestyle. He is blamed for using over R200 million of the taxpayers’ money to extend his rural homestead in Nkandla, in the KwaZulu-Natal province. He has also courted controversy beyond the country’s borders, with his endorsement of a United Nations resolution sanctioning a no fly zone in Libya with subsequent events leading to the demise of Muammar Gaddafi’s regime. While ZANU-PF and the ANC are bound historic ...
Morgan Tsvangirai is repeating what saved him during the 2005 MDC split. He went down to the districts and he got the support of most, if not all district chairpersons. It is from these districts that the likes of Komichi and Tabitha Khumalo came. Now he is at it again, having realised that he no longer commands support and authority in his national council. Does this kind of leadership create quality leaders in view of the fact that, when cornered, he discards cream de cream of leaders in favour lower level leaders? I don't understand this kinda of political expedience.
It is a surprise to many that i will write about Zimbabwe's 89 year old president -Robert Gabriel Mugabe . Robert Mugabe, 89, is undoubtedly a controversial figure, but many are familiar only with the details of his most public life. Both his childhood and adult life are filled with surprises, many of which influenced decisions during his numerous terms as Zimbabwe’s president . I write this article as a tribute and memorial to him as he celebrates his 90th birthday in a few days' time. Let's get this right. I am no fan of Mugabe. Dont get me wrong and dont get it twisted here. I am just bringing out a few facts about him and what people to know him more. He is a hero to many Zimbabweans. Do you know he was also a Nobel Peace Prize nominee? Fasten your seat belts, as we embark on a brief tour history of Mugabe.       Mugabe, born 21 February 1924 is a Zimbabwean revolutionary and politician who is the President of Zimbabwe. He will be 90 years old in a few days,as I am writing this article. As one of ...

US Ambassador to Zimbabwe Bruce Wharton, has highlighted the need for unconditional dialogue with Mr. Mugabe and his party, saying, that main political party leaders, President Robert Mugabe and Former Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai, should Pursue Political Dialogue in a bid to urgently address the socio-economic and political crisis affecting the country and put the the economy back on track. The South African President Jacob Zuma, the (SADC) appointed mediator on the Zimbabwean dialogue, concluded his mission following last year’s elections but Mr. Tsvangirai says SADC and the African Union prematurely endorsed Zimbabwe’s election results, meaning Zimbabwe’s political problems have not been resolved by the polls. The Former Prime Minister says that for a lasting solution, fresh polls should be held after key democratic reforms have been implemented, a view shared by Ambassador Wharton who said election reports compiled by several organizations after the polls are clear to Washington that there we ...
Sections Videos En francais U.S Upholds Mugabe Ban From U.S-Africa summit 9 February 2014 , Source: New Zimbabwe THE US government has said it was under no pressure to reconsider its decision to omit President Robert Mugabe from the landmark US-Africa summit in August. The gathering will seek to widen Washington's trade, development and security ties with the African continent. Mugabe, banned from travelling to the US over allegations of rights abuses and electoral fraud, was excluded from the list of 47 African leaders invited to the summit by US President Barack Obama. But the crafty Zimbabwean leader, also banned from travelling to Europe, recently forced the European Union (EU) to invite him to Brussels for April's EU-African Union summit after African leaders threatened to boycott the gathering if Mugabe was not welcome. It remains unclear whether African leaders will employ a similar threat to force Obama to invite Mugabe. However, US ambassador to Zimbabwe Bruce Wharton said Mugabe's exclusion was ...

Zimbabwe’s leadership failure The graft and corruption that is now being unearthed means that the President has failed to do his job. Guest Column by Vince Musewe The main responsibility of any President must be to effectively preside over the affairs and administration of the country. In order to achieve that, the President appoints ministers who should be appointed on merit. Their responsibility is not only to ensure that government policy is effectively implemented, but to ensure that it is effectively administered and in line with the Constitution and the laws of the country including adherence to the National Budget. In addition, the President is provided with all the resources he needs to ensure that he is effective in carrying out his mandate according to the Constitution. The President is even provided with high-level security and all the necessary comforts to ensure that his decisions are objective and serve the interest of the country first. This is to ensure that he stems corruption, fights g ...

HANZI NA PSYCHO - "In the midst of all his failings- and there are many of them-: women, sex, a woeful failure to lead and being a three-time loser- it is quite possible that a few people still believed in Morgan Tsvangirai and were willing to give him the benefit of the doubt. But with reports that he demanded $7million (R80 million- twice the size of Nelson Mandela's fortune) as a precondition for stepping down as MDC-T President and has been abusing party funds on a frightening, almost criminal scale, it is fair to calculate that any pretense that Tsvangirai is an honorable politician has now been destroyed." I was so disappointed today doing nothing and I thought of writing about the evil ZANU PF. Good morning mates, enjoy your sunday services!!! There is always time for everything. My wish for the people of Zimbabwe to do the right thing after so many years of suffering. Yes I was young in 1980, not very young though when the Smith Regime under the leadership of Ian Duncan Smith was ousted from power by the people being led by the then flamboyant leader Robert Mugabe whom many people never expected that one day he would be the most hated person in a country he co-founded. Joshua Nkomo the Father of all by his side. Cruelty is not breed into people but mostly you are born with it. It only needs a few catalysts to make it function. Mugabe did not take time to show his cruelty. He started killing all those people whom he deemed to be a threat to his country, which he believed that he owned including all the people who lived in it. Gukurahundi, The Ushewokunze brothers, Lookout Masuku to name are few, are some . ...
Some issues should never be debated along partisan lines. Its all leadership, be it at church, cell, company, prison or any level. Zimbabwe lacks quality leaders at all levels, so we should not point fingers at the President. Of course I find fault in him because he doesn't act, he expects someone to step down and he discourages them from stepping down because it destroys the party. I believe otherwise, when corrupt leaders are forced out, you create a strong organisation in the long run. Sounds very simple but the politics of Zanu PF is complex, these people are not being exposed by chance, it is a deliberate attempt to weaken the other faction by another faction which controls public media. Weakening one faction may destroy the party. One solution lies in having presidents who resign from party politics. In business we call them independent directors. They serve the interests of the company not selfish interests of particular shareholders. Morgan Tsvangirai or Simba Makoni will do the same. The balancin ...

Morgan Tsvangirai drums up support Beleaguered opposition MDC-T leader Morgan Tsvangirai will soon embark on a nationwide tour to galvanise grassroots support, amid an escalated push for his ouster. Party policy chief Eddie Cross Friday told The Zimbabwe Mail that Tsvangirai would, from Monday, begin marathon meetings with lower end structures in all provinces to "sound out their views on the issue of an early elective congress". Cross, who wrote to the MDC-T leadership last August informing it that party structures in his Bulawayo South constituency were demanding an early congress, said Tsvangirai would roll out his nationwide tour next week. The legislator confirmed authoring to the party bigwigs. "It is true that the message from the structures was clear, they wanted leadership change through an early congress," Cross said. "I then wrote a memorandum to the party leadership telling them of the instruction I had received." Cross said those against an early congress were mainly found in the top echelons ...

Its Tsvangirai RT“Morgan Tswangirai should step down from MDC leadership and give chance to fresh ideas.
The debate has however failed to centre on Tsvangirai’s replacement and the qualities of such a replacement.
Elton Mangoma is right for saying nothing else than the truth that Tsvangirai should step down. Rather, Morgan Tsvangirai is a dictator for attemping to thwart ethos of democracy. More so, Tsvangirai should not play blind eye to the fact that he has served more than the required two terms as party president and shld according to Mdc-t constitution step down.
DA leader was in talks with Morgan Tsvangirai to become DA presidential candidate.
HARARE - Michael Carter, the Bulawayo Metropolitan Senator and non- constituency MP Jane Nicola Watson, have rallied behind their leader Morgan Tsvangirai, who is shrugging off an internal rebellion from some senior party members. In an interview with the Daily News last Friday, both Carter and Watson said Tsvangirai was not to blame for the party’s dismal showing in the July 31 harmonised elections. “We need to take responsibility for 2013 elections outcome collectively as leaders of MDC and not to blame Tsvangirai alone,” Carter said. “There is need for leaders’ introspection and I still stand behind Tsvangirai and I believe he can lead us to a new democratic country in the future. “I know that Tsvangirai still commands support of the grassroots people in the party and countrywide despite what some MPs are saying that he must step down.” Watson also said she has faith in Tsvangirai. A founding MDC member, Watson is one of three white MDC MPs after an election in which the opposition won on ...
Simba Makoni to Rescue the MDC? 3 February 2014 , By Amai Jukwa, Source: New Zimbabwe ROY Bennet was the first to publicly dissent, Ben Freeth followed, then Ian Kay, Elias Mudzuri, Eddie Cross and now Elton Mangoma. The chorus grows. His remarkably candid and well-choreographed letter demanding Morgan Tsvangirai step down punched above his personal courage. It is likely that powerful allies, who are yet to show their hand, are encouraging Mangoma and have emboldened him with assurances of their support. Meanwhile, donors are reportedly channelling funds to the shadowy faction calling itself the Renewal Team, starving Tsvangirai of resources whilst str + / engthening the hand of his adversaries. It's a masterstroke and it is unlikely Tsvangirai will survive this final push. The MDC is in an impossible position. They are damned if they remove Tsvangirai and they are damned if they retain him as president. For all his faults, Tsvangirai has a charisma to him - perhaps not of the statesman variety but he cer ...
MDC-T party is bigger than an individual February 2, 2014 in Opinion Failed leadership is the surest way to kill any enterprise or organisation. Sunday View with Alfred Towo And that there is failed leadership at the helm of MDC-T is evident even to the most politically blind person. I hear some shrill calls to the effect that Elton Mangoma, Elias Mudzuri, Roy Bennett, Ian Kay etc should resign as soon as possible. Did they breach any MDC-T written or unwritten code? If Mangoma and company propose that Morgan Tsvangirai should step down, to force them to resign is just getting a bit emotional. As far as Mangoma and company are concerned, they did not soil the party brand as Tsvangirai himself has done. With all due respect, I find that way of thinking deficient of reasoning, but driven by emotional connection to the leadership. You do not purge people just because they hold different views to achieving the same thing you are all fighting for. Is that democracy, where people cannot express their views free ...
Opposition leader Morgan Tsvangirai's 15-year-old political project, the MDC-T, is on the verge of another potentially devastating split after a tempestuous national executive council meeting on Friday failed to come up with a resolution regarding the emotive issue of an early congress.Accord.
On becoming a politician more than a decade ago, Morgan Tsvangirai, our wretched Former Prime Minister, vowed he was a man of peace and that he would bring decency to our politics. He promised that there would be no kind of violence whatsoever orchestrated by his MDC party whether it be intra-party violence or violence against political opponents. 15 years have passed since he made that promise and i’m sorry to say that, based on the available evidence, Morgan Tsvangirai lied to the people of Zimbabwe. Let’s look at the facts. Not so long ago, it was reported that scores of MDC youths had caused terrible havoc in Zaka, Masvingo, assaulting political opponents and destroying people’s homes. The same pattern was to be replicated in many parts across Zimbabwe, often under disguise as ZANU PF supporters. This kind of behavior is unspeakably depressing and demonstrates just how much Tsvangirai has poisoned our politics. Nor is that all. A number of journalists have been assaulted during the course of dis ...
Morgan Tsvangirai in refusing to vacate a government house and demanding that it be given or sold to him is not different from Happison Muchechetere
Some lost conscience, others lost focus AFTER Joshua Nkomo (aka Father Zimbabwe), the only other political leader who has effectively and fearlessly challenged and opposed Zanu PF and President Robert Mugabe in recent times is none other than Morgan Tsvangirai. For this, history shall fittingly record him as one of the greatest fighters for democracy in Zimbabwe. There is no doubt in my mind that he deserves the accolade. Nevertheless, it is also heroic to know when to say goodbye. “Sometimes one can salvage their career by the way they end it”, so goes the saying. This simple wisdom has constantly evaded many African leaders, both in government and opposition. Madiba is one of the few who left on their own terms, at their own time. Recently, while delivering what was called “State of the nation address”, the MDC founding president surprisingly proposed dialogue with Zanu PF as the only way to extricate the country from the economic morass. I’m not sure which Zanu PF he was referring to. What i ...
They is one reasonable thing that Morgan Tsvangirai needs to do at the moment. In order to save his legacy, the man must step down(as Mangoma correctly said) This will result in leadership renewal in the MDC T,a tool which their main opponent ZANU PF lacks. If Morgan Tsvangirai does not do this he risks becoming a dictator or infact worse than Idi Amin Dada,!Otherwise if he does not do that, i see the MDC T silting together with river Save in 2018.With Morgan Tsvangirai at the helm of his party ZANU PF is set for a record, resounding victory.Your thoughts ladies and gentlemen?
There should be no red carpet for African Leaders who don't want to step down - we will shut their doors around the world. You know what we say here happens. If we can fight Mugabe, the most feared dictator till he shuts up - let alone Morgan Tsvangirai. Pliz.

TSVANGIRAI'S STATE OF THE NATION ADDRESS DEFERRED, AGAIN MDC-T leader Morgan Tsvangirai has deferred to Friday his state of the nation address which was initially scheduled for Tuesday. On Tuesday guests. who included diplomats, journalists, the business community, and the labour movement, were kept waiting before they were informed that Tsvangirai had postponed the event to Thursday. Tsvangirai's spokesman Luke Tamborinyoka sent out a statement which said the postponement was a show of respect to President Robert Mugabe, whose sister Bridget was being buried Tuesday. Tsvangirai did not attend the burial. Harare-based correspondent Simon Muchemwa criticised the way the MDC-T leader's office has handled the postponements, saying guests were not being notified on time. "On Tuesday, the announcement was made late, and many people, including some diplomats, had already arrived at the venue," Muchemwa said. "Today (Thursday) I had to phone the MDC-T office to find out what was happening and that is when I was ...

'Nothing to fear' from Zimbabwe 30 Dec 2013 - 09:16am Australia has little to lose by offering asylum to Zimbabwe's former ambassador to Australia, former foreign minister Alexander Downer says. Jacqueline Zwambila announced last week that she wanted political asylum in Australia, saying the re-election of President Robert Mugabe meant 'the end of the line' for people appointed by Former Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai. Mr Downer says a lack of economic ties between Australia and Zimbabwe means that the Mugabe government can do nothing but complain. 'To be frank, there's not much the Zimbabwe government can do about it,' Mr Downer told the ABC on Monday. 'Through simply appalling economic policies (they) have isolated themselves very much from the international community. 'They can hardly punish Australia by threatening Australian investments in Zimbabwe because most Australian investments in Zimbabwe have been either confiscated, withdrawn or nationalised.' Immigration Minister Scott Morrison said on Sa ...
Morgan Tsvangirai: The Political Obituary by Mso Ndlovu 07 January 2014 | 317 Views The political history of Zimbabwe will be incomplete without mentioning and giving respect to Morgan Richard Tsvangirai. His meteoric rise from a poor rural Buhera background beginning with a job as a tea boy and later foreman at a mine in Bindura before becoming a fiery trade unionist can best be described as phenomenal. His grand entry into politics was filled with both fury and sound, bringing hope to millions of Zimbabweans. History will record that Morgan Tsvangirai is and will remain the only human being to contest and win an election against President Robert Mugabe ever. This feat is remarkable in the sense that President Mugabe may be serving his last days in both political and earthly office. For this achievement, although punctuated by a few skeletons along the way, Zimbabweans are eternally grateful. To cap a fine political run, Morgan Tsvangirai later became a Prime Minister in a coalition government that broug ...

2013: A year of political turbulence 2013 was a politically turbulent year that saw the end of an inclusive government among Zanu PF’s President Robert Mugabe and the two MDC parties led by Morgan Tsvangirai and Welshman Ncube. By Everson Mushava General elections held on July 31 saw Mugabe’s party get a landslide victory over Tsvangirai’s MDC-T in both the presidential and parliamentary vote to assume total control of government after sharing power for five years. Mugabe won presidency by 61% as compared to Tsvangirai’s 34%, while his Zanu PF party garnered a majority control in parliament. Others who contested in the polls were PF Zapu president Dumiso Dabengwa, Zimbabwe Democracy Party’s Kisinoti Mukwazi and Ncube (MDC). The MDC-T leader claimed the polls were a “monumental farce” and challenged the poll results, but withdrew the legal fight after he was denied access to poll material by the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC). The MDC-T prepared a dossier to “expose the rigging” alle ...
Tsvangirai lawyers' hearing set for January 22nd Hearing in the contempt of court trail of lawyers representing Movement for Democratic Change leader Morgan Tsvangirai in fighting the July election outcome has been set for the 22nd of January 2014. In his judgment, Justice Chinembiri Bhunu ordered the arrest and prosecution of the lawyers representing the Former Prime Minister after they made statements criticising the court. Justice Bhunu ruled that the conduct of the lawyers was meant to bring the court's integrity into disrepute saying such conduct cannot be tolerated by the court. The lawyers - Aleck Muchadehama, Tarisai Mutangi and Advocate Lewis Uriri - allegedly attacked the court and made an application seeking an urgent order for the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission to release election material used during the July 31st election. The year 2013 saw the Constitutional Court bombarded by several applications which were centred on the holding of elections. Initially, it was one Jealousy Mawarire who mad ...
Morgan Tsvangirai, Robert Mugabe, Strive Masiiwa, Mutumwa Mawere, Philip Chiyangwa, myself and other big guys would want to wish you a Merry Christmas and a Prosperous 2014.
Open letter to MDC T leadership Leadership renewal most realistic option The test of the MDC’s true strength will be whether it is able to march on without its main ideologue and founder, Morgan Tsvangirai. Indeed, since its formation, Tsvangirai’s name has been synonymous with the MDC, and his bravery in the face of a true political test must never be underestimated. Nevertheless, ousting this once gargantuan politician, who has led the most successful opposition group in Zimbabwe, will be the first step in the right direction. Tsvangirai himself has already indicated that he has no intention of stepping down any time soon. Indeed, he told a press conference in Harare that he has the full backing of his party. His supporters in the party have also argued that he needs to finish the job that he started. However, for the good of the party, Tsvangirai needs to step down – retreating to moral arguments to support his continued candidature will only worsen the situation. If Tsvangirai remains as MDC lea ...
REF: SGMJJ/HSCU/PR/3342 08th DEC, 2013 MUGABE’S AFRICANISM VS WESTERN IMPERIALISM In 1980, Robert Mugabe became Zimbabwe’s first black President after a prolonged bush war against British colonial enslavement. Nigeria played a big role in favour of the nationalist struggle that he put up at great cost to his person. Not long ago, Zimbabweans re-elected Mr Mugabe as their President, there-by making him Africa’s oldest serving Head of State! Morgan Tsvangirai lost Zimbabwe’s latest presidential election to Mugabe. This is not the first time Mr Tsvangirai is losing to Mugabe. Expectedly, the relentless leader of Zimbabwe’s opposition party, Movement for Democratic Change (MDC), has cried foul and has also threatened court action. Without allowing the dust of Morgan Tsvangirai’s threat settle, Mr Robert Mugabe has set-out to establish an exclusively black stock exchange for Zimbabwe in his drive against protracted black economic subservience to the country’s white minority. Beyond the facts and ...
10 REASONS WHY TSVANGIRAI MUST BE SACKED ***this article was first published by the website New Zimbabwe.com, the views contained in this article do not belong to Mugrade Seven* By WISDOM KATUNGU I HAVE great respect for Morgan Tsvangirai because of the courage, bravery and determination that he has shown since the formation of the MDC in 1999. At a time when it was unthinkable and daunting to challenge the mighty Robert Mugabe in a presidential election, he boldly rose to the occasion and he can only count himself unlucky that he has failed to dethrone the veteran Zanu PF leader. Since he declared his ambition to lead Zimbabwe fourteen years ago, Tsvangirai has been arrested many a time; faced a show treason trial; survived assassination attempts; his close associates and supporters were murdered. He has also lost a good number of his loved ones because of his political ambitions. He has been tortured several times at the hands of the police and has been humiliated by the public media. Despite all this, ...

Ian Makone dumped for good The embattled mdc president Dr Morgan Tsvangirai has no shame. He has dumped Ian Makone , the man who rescued him during many of his trying times in politics and socially. Around 2006, when Tsvangirai,s pocket was empty, Ian Makone would take turns with Zwizwai to buy him fuel and groceries. Now that Tsvangirai is better off financially and has a new political handler in Chamisa, he has completely dumped poor Ian Makone and Zwizwai. Ian Makone played a critical role in keeping Tsvangirai surviving when his close connfidants Welsh and Gibson ran away. When Tsvangirai ruptured Loreta Nyathi in Bulawayo , Ian Makone came to his rescue to conceal the issue up to the birth of young Ethan. Ian Makone paid this teenager some moneys to keep her silent. The name Ethan came from Ethanol because the money which was used to bribe Loreta was sourced from an Ethanol morgul through Pearson Mbalekwa. Reasons for dumbing Ian are not very convincing, to just suspect that he was very close Locadi ...

Robert Mugabe said he should be treated like Mandela Morgan tsvangirai told him serve for 27 yrs in jail.
Very few people will actually admit the truth. Morgan Tsvangirai and other high profile opposition leaders in Zimbabwe were stabilizing the economy and bringing sanity to this ZANU Pf administration. The time they left, things are falling apart, companies are closing, mo money in the banks, employment lowest in 200 yrs, infrastructure dead or dying, the list is countless. To a diehard, they don't see this, they are arrogant, rude and stubborn, they are only interested in keeping their Trophies, i.e., the best looters ever to walk on this planet earth. God bless them, very few human beings actually have such honours!!
I hear e President of Zimbabwe who is also been said to b e next Madiba Morgan Tsvangirai is goin to attend e funeral of Nelson Mandela. The economic effects (growth) brought by Morgan Tsvangirai and the MDC during GNU are now being reversed by the chaos and heartless regime led by Robert Mugabe. It always starts with shortage of cash in the banks (liquidity crisis) and by the time the problem moves to emptying the shelves in the shops,it will not be easily tamed. People are always underating confidence and legitimacy crisis, there is no government that can succeed without the people having confidence in it,without an endorsement by the majority. That government will be destined to failure. The small indigenous banks that are running short of cash were all along enjoying giving out insider loans to top managers and directors as well as lending to the so called indigenous people with no experience in farming and mining. The miners and farmers have made abnormal losses instead of supernormal profits and the end result is a huge provision for bad debts by the banks and lastly bad debts written off. What collateral security they promised to su ...
Eish can't wait to meet my President Morgan Tsvangirai and other team after a long while.
I'm intrigued by Robert Mugabe's need to continually put down and belittle Morgan Tsvangirai in public. It really shows how fragile his psyche is. Bob reminds me a lot of Nicolae Ceaușescu of Romania. I wonder what he was thinking at Mandela's funeral. In his own mind I imagine he believes he is his equal. If so, he's also delusional.
: Mugabe: " I would like Africa to treat me like ". Morgan Tsvangirai " Good idea, let's start with 27 yrs in jail...lol

President Robert Mugabe yesterday taunted his political nemesis MDC-T leader Morgan Tsvangirai over his calls for security sector reforms during his tenure as Prime Minister in the inclusive government. Speaking at the burial of Zimbabwe's Defence Attaché' to China, Brigadier General Misheck Tanyanyiwa, Mugabe said: "People like Tsvangirai would say they want change in the security sector. What do they know about such a crucial sector? That was never going to happen and it will not happen. We should remain ever vigilant because the enemy will try to come back in many guises, even in the form of puppet political parties, created in the name of democracy to deceive the world about their real intentions." "If Tsvangirai and his party wanted to give them the country's resources they can go ahead and do that if they have a country of their own," Mugabe said. This is my personal plea to Morgan Tsvangirai, that he should always realise that it is not always easy to dismantle a autocratic system. How ever long, it may take, but eventually the destination will be reached. The autocratic system will do anything, even if it means walking over innocent dead bodies, even manipulating results using Nikuv, anything we the dictator deems necessary. Morgan has to learn a lot from Nelson Mandela. One day it will define the kind of person/leader he is. All sorts of things will be thrown at him but eventually the people's will prevail. Sham elections or what will not stop the people's will. Zimbabwe will return its glory days. The way Mandela brought glory and celebration to South Africa.
My country has been blessed with two very patriotic leaders who went through horrific experiences in an attempt to expose and dislodge the evil dictatorship of zanu pf. Morgan Tsvangirai remains the only beacon of hope for the people of Zimbabwe. The only other leader we can compare to our icon of the democratic struggle is the late father Zimbabwe,Joshua Nkomo (may his soul rest in peace!).if he were alive today,he is the man who can tell us how and why he walked the same road that Tsvangirai has been trudging on. They say history repeats itself.over 2 decades ago,Nkomo joined zanu pf in a marriage of convinience.he had in his heart a sole poupose to save his remaining tribe after zanu pf leaders had ordered the extemination of his people.over 20 000 had already been massacred and he at one time fled the country disguised as a woman.blood had to stop flowing.someone with a heart had to give in.it was Joshua Nkomo. Fast forward to 2008,we find ourself in a grave economic crissis.the same zanu pf,smarting ...

Tsvangirai and Welshman killed lots of people in Zanu's name Baba Jukwa wrote: Zimbabwe good evening, it's sad to see that we were fighting for democracy as a nation but the same people who were a face of democracy have been more evil than our fellow citizens oppressing us Zanu pf. As a nation which needs to go forward progressively I will be unpacking to you the shocking operations which our failed Democracy faces Morgan Tsvangirai and his rival Welshman Ncube have been doing. That is why you see them very quiet because now they are being black mailed by Zanu people if they try to make noise just because of their evil secret relationships they had while in office. I will be realising names of people which were killed by Tsvangirai and Welshman while they blamed ZANU for that. I will release smuggling syndicates they were involved in on behalf of Zanu throughout the world, I will also unpack their corruption and other shoddy deals they are involved in so brace yourself up Zimbabwe. HARARE - Ex-prime Prime Minister, Morgan Tsvangirai faces the prospect of leaving office without a retirement package, following the scuttling of talks with President Robert Mugabe to define his benefits. Government is also yet to assent to the evaluation of Tsvangirai’s Highlands mansion. “The government has not evaluated the house and as such the onus solely lies on the government to play the ball,” Luke Tamborinyoka, Tsvangirai’s spokesperson told the Daily News yesterday. “They have to come and evaluate the house and then give Tsvangirai the right of (first) refusal.” With Mugabe keeping Tsvangirai at bay, scuttling discussions on the Highlands mansion, which the Former Prime Minister is currently staying in, frustration seems to be setting in. The former premier is currently living in suspense, as government has not made it clear whether it intends to evict him out or sell the house to him. The house was bought by government for $750 000 and officials say it was renovated for $1.5 million ...
Morgan Tsvangirai, the erstwhile Prime Minister of Zimbabwe, continues to act like a dictator-in-waiting. As if it's not bad enough that, following his and his party's abysmal performance at the last general elections, he won't leave the helm of the faction of the Movement for Democratic Change that he leads (he also will not leave the property that was allocated to him while he was Prime Minister (His conduct raises the question: If he cannot vacate government property when he is no longer entitled to enjoy that property, what are the chances that, in the unlikely event that he became head of state, he would be able to leave office and let the winner take over?
I think Morgan Tsvangirai should honour himself and move out of the Highlands House back to Strathaven before he faces serious embarrassment. Why should he continue to wait when its clear that President Mugabe won't meet him...it will certainly be embarrassing when Tsvangirai and his property are e thrown out while he runs to the courts with some papers which will only get him further humiliation when the courts tell him to go hang, someone must advise Morgan correctly!" Pride Mkono, former Zinasu President.
(Saddest) Zimbabwe, Robert Mugabe has held power in Zimbabwe since 1980.Opposition leader Morgan Tsvangirai was arrested and severely in2007
l did not know that the ANC regards Morgan Tsvangirai as a political nightmare until yesterday when l met some?
Luke Tamborinyoka, 1. the Government house in which Morgan Tsvangirai is staying is not on sale and therefore the issue of "the right of refusal" does not arise. 2. If it was on sale, Morgan Tsvangirai has nobody to speak to because he does not recognise Robert Mugabe as the President. 3. Morgan Tsvangirai has not requested for a meeting and therefore Robert Mugabe does not snub a non-existent request. (What's wrong with our media?) Be guided accordingly.
Zimbabwe’s Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai is spending much of his time reassuring investors that the controversial Indigenisation Regulations published last year by the Minister of Youth Development, Indigenisation and Empowerment, Savior Kasukuwere, will not be implemented. Opening a conference in Harare on 8 March, intended to highlight Zim’s potential to foreign investors, the embattled PM old the hundreds of executives at the conference that new equity laws requiring Zimbabwe nationals to hold majority stakes in major foreign companies to did not mean nationalisation. “The indigenisation programme has caused so much consternation among investors,” Tsvangirai said. “There is no government policy to nationalise or to expropriate. All we want is that ordinary Zimbabweans should be empowered and not a few elite.” Tsvangirai has an unenviable job in defending hastily concoted legislation proposed by ZANU PF hardliners to wrench large tracts of the country’s economy away from legitimate inve ...

MDC-T supporters allegedly gave Tsvangirai 50kg sack of condoms instead of money? MDC-T Secretary General, Tendai Biti has confirmed that his party was broke. "The party does not have money and that is why we are retrenching. It is a fact that we get money from government through Political Parties Finance Act and the government is broke. "We don’t have diamonds like other political parties." The MDC has laid off the majority of its workforce with very little packages. Donors who have for years bankrolled the opposition party are withholding their money. After MDC failed to dislodge Zanu PF from power, financial backers are demanding a change in leadership before loosening purse strings. Roy Bennett, MDC treasurer has told MDC leader, Morgan Tsvangirai to go. But he has refused saying supporters still wanted him to continue with the fight. With no money in the coffers, disgruntlement is likely to set in which might force Tsvangirai's hand. Meanwhile, a self-styled MDC-T highly placed insider, who calls h ...

Thabo Mbeki made a number of revelations. He explained that his country has been under intense pressure from Prime Minister Tony Blair asking him to cooperate in the framework of a military invasion of Zimbabwe, whose aim was to overthrow Robert Mugabe and replace Morgan Tsvangirai. The rest of the article:
Yes, sanctions are in place, but they are not responsible for many of our failures. The greater blame lies on incompetent and corrupt managers.” Echoes Conway Tutani Guess who said that? None other than Amai Jukwa, one of the columnists in the State-run media who writes under a pseudonym, did so this week. This frank, direct and perspicacious observation makes nonsense of the call by Zanu PF MP Joseph Chinotimba that main opposition MDC-T leader Morgan Tsvangirai must be jailed for life for calling upon the West to impose sanctions on Zimbabwe. This reduces to an expensive and gigantic stunt 2011’s anti-sanctions petition drive when over 2,5 million signatures were collected, many forcibly as people were herded to rallies to sign. The biggest enemy has been from within. Some of the chief executive officers (CEOs), particularly — but not only — at State-run firms don’t add any value to the company whatsoever. All they do is weigh firms down through asset-stripping. Not to mention that some of the ...
The nation of Zimbabwe was saved by God from the MDC if recent irrational statements from Obert Gutu are anything to go by. We also saw what Morgan Tsvangirai can do to women. Hon. President Mugabe shares 'secret' with close friend Morgan Tsvangirai? -
Opposition leader Morgan Tsvangirai says he is a much better leader than President Mugabe. Speaking at the burial of his security chief, Benson Muchineuta, Tsvangirai, who has been the butt of Zanu PF jokes because of his lack of a university education, said he was “a far much better leader than those who boast of numerous degrees.” He also said that President Mugabe confided in him that he wanted to retire but fears his party would disintegrate. Tsvangirai, who shared power with Mugabe for almost five years in a fractious coalition government, told mourners that the succession dilemma was one of the major reasons why Mugabe was sticking to his job. “Shamwari yangu inoti netseyi. Mugabe’s ZANU PF meddling in Khama’s succession plans - claim by Sunday Standard Reporter 25-11-2013 It has emerged that Robert Mugabe’s ruling party in Zimbabwe has been sponsoring some individuals inside Botswana Democratic Party as a way of influencing President Ian Khama’s succession plan. Zimbabwe has had a tumultuous relationship with Botswana ever since Ian Khama became President in 2008. Previously, Mugabe has openly accused Khama of not only sponsoring his opponent, Morgan Tsvangirai of the Movement for Democratic Change, but has also gone on to allege that Botswana was host to MDC’s military training camps. Botswana denied the allegations and invited SADC (Southern African Development Community) to come into Botswana and do independent inspections. By sponsoring some BDP candidates, Mugabe and his ZANU PF are said to be trying to get even with Khama. The money from ZANU PF did not go into BDP accounts, but to individuals, some of whom hold senior positions in the party. President Ian K ...

Morgan Tsvangirai is the undisputed and indispensable leader of the MDC and face of the democratic struggle in Zimbabwe.
ZIMBABWE,NOT YET UHURU. Despite all the negative'' noises'' and tells of espionage and Israeli *** no sane person can dispute that President Robert Mugabe was legitimately and constitutionally elected into office. Its not rocket science but simply the state of affairs. The elections admittedly were not pretty, but SADC,AU and other competent observers gave the elections a thumbs up.Unless the malcontents have proof ,not fictitious tales,of election fraud, the status quo rules supreme. That having said it is now becoming obvious that Zanu PF has political power but the economy is in freefall.Government coffers are empty and whatever gains the economy saw during the tenure of the inclusive government, have been seriously eroded. We cannot carry on like this so something has gotta give. Its time for some painful retrospection.Wether Zanu Pf like it or not Morgan Tsvangirai still holds the key to reviving the economy.Judging from his diplomatic offensive he is still the blue eyed boy of the movers and shakers .. ...

THE WESTERN PROPAGANDA AND DOUBLE STANDARDS. "For the democratic forces in Zimbabwe, Western double standards and dishonesty have actually damaged our cause and cost us immensely. Western governments have undermined our legitimacy, strengthened our opponents (the dictatorship), removed our moral authority, and ruined our effectiveness and standing among Africans...We are sick and tired of the hypocrisy, double standards, racism and downright dishonesty. The West must not hide its true motive. Where are the Western democratic demands to Egypt, Angola, Saudi Arabia, Libya, Israel, Pakistan, and Kuwait? TSVANGIRAI GROUNDED AS MDC REFUSES TO FUND TRIPS Powerful MDC figures are refusing o fund their leader, Morgan Tsvangirai's countrywide tours as they tighten the noose to force to step aside. Tsvangirai has had to fund the trips from his own pocket. Now he is effectively grounded as his resources are running thin. Sources within the party claim the officials seeking leadership renewal have been responsible for sourcing money to fund party activities, but have since stopped because Tsvangirai has refused to step down. Exiled MDC-T treasurer general, Roy Bennett has been the link between MDC-T and the donor community. Through him, the party was pampered with money to bankroll its activities in Zimbabwe, hoping that it was going to form the next government. In Zimbabwe former Energy minister, Elton Mangoma, who is said to be spearheading the quest to “renew and re-invigorate the party”, has been the party treasurer and controls the finances. “Mangoma has refused to fund the tours claiming they were not ...
They are now broke too as said by Harvestlikis too. - MDC-T leader Morgan Tsvangirai and his Medvedev-junior Nelson Chamisa are grounded after the party for the first time refused to fund their trips both international and local. The reasons for the funding crisis are centred around Tsvangirai’s failure to coordinate diaspora structures who have been a vital source of revenue, it has emerged. When Tsvangirai flew to the United Kingdom last month a trip funded rather by Oxford University, he was meant to have traveled together with Nelson Chamisa which trip failed after Harvest House failed to raise the money. An appeal was then made to the UK province which is headed by chairman Tonderai Samanyanga who responded with an embarrassing negative. ZANU PF ELECTION FALLOUT CONTINUES AS MNAGANGWA LASHES OUT AT CHRIS MUTSVANGWA'S WIFE Justice Minister, Emmerson Mnangagwa says Senator Monica Mutsvangwa did a Tsvangirai when she pulled out of Manicaland province elections. “Those with memories will recall the withdrawal of Morgan Tsvangirai five days before the 2008 Presidential election run-off. Yes, he announced to the whole world that he was withdrawing from the race, but forgot that there were laws governing the conduct of elections. His withdrawal did not stop the elections and some people voted for him. This is what happened with the withdrawal of Cde Mutsvangwa as her name remained on the ballot papers,” he said. In withdrawing, Mutsvangwa cited an uneven playing field, intimidation of her supporters and biased polling officers. However, the elections supervisory team leader and Zanu-PF secretary for legal affairs, ordered the elections to go ahead. “We gave everyone a chance to vote as I directed that voting should take place in areas that ...

Mugabe will be safer in our hands — Madhuku NATIONAL Constitutional Assembly (NCA) has transformed itself into a political party to fight Zanu PF and the MDC-T in the 2018 elections. NewsDay Reporter Moses Matenga (ND) speaks to the party’s interim leader Lovemore Madhuku on why he chose to form the party. Below are excerpts of the interview: ND: How do you view your chances against Zanu PF and MDC-T? LM: Zanu PF will be defeated, there is a generational process taking place in the country. Zanu PF is led by people who were in the liberation struggle and played a key role in the early years of independence, they have now outlived their usefulness and for that reason Zanu PF will be out, there will be no Zanu PF that will defeat our party because it’s led by old people. They can’t match us. MDC-T The MDC-T will survive, but won’t win the elections. They will survive as a weak party. There is no chance for the MDC-T in 2018. We are looking at ordinary young people in particular, we will be open to ...

BATTLE OVER MDC NAME SET TO START IN HIGH COURT Wednesday, October 02, 2013 NewsdzeZimbabwe 4 THE trial of a long-standing dispute pitting writer David Muzhuzha against Morgan Tsvangirai’s MDC over the party’s 1999 name coinage has been set to begin at the High Court on October 14. Justice Mafusire would preside over the contentious matter whose proceedings were scheduled to run for four days. The 46-year-old Harare journalist and author filed a US$200 000 lawsuit in December 2011, for alleged defamation arising out of MDC-T’s refusal to acknowledge him as the rightful person who coined its identity. “With great respect,” the MDC wrote to Muzhuzha in July 2010, “David Muzhuzha did not coin the name Movement for Democratic Change, nor was he in any manner involved in the formation of the MDC.” The plaintiff at the time had sought compensation amounting to US$2 500 per month for usage of the party name dating to May 1999, when the party was formed on a Zimbabwe Congress of Trade Unions plat .. ...

Zanu-PF parliamentary majority godsend – Mnangagwa October 2, 2013 Headlines, Top Stories Cde Emmerson Mnangagwa Farirai Machivenyika Senior Reporter Justice, Legal and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Emmerson Mnangagwa yesterday said the resounding victory by Zanu-PF in the July 31 harmonised elections will enable the party to effectively implement its policies and programmes in Parliament without hindrances that were caused by the previous hung Parliament. Minister Mnangagwa said this in his congratulatory message to the Speaker of the National Assembly, Cde Jacob Mudenda, and his deputy, Cde Mabel Chinomona, in the National Assembly. “The just ended Seventh Parliament, which was in fact a hung Parliament, naturally it was not always easy to debate issues and pass Bills as no party would effectively implement its policies or its manifesto. “Now that Zanu-PF won a landslide on July 31 and holds and commands a comfortable majority in both Houses (National Assembly and Senate), as leaders, it is now p ...

Zimbabwe History Early History to British Control There are a number of Iron Age sites in Zimbabwe, with artifacts dating from c.A.D. 180. These early cultures were supplanted by Bantu-speaking peoples, who migrated into the area after the 5th cent. The ruins at Zimbabwe date from the 12th to the 15th cent. In the early 16th cent., the Portuguese made contact with Shona-dominated states and developed a trade in gold and other items. During the 1830s, the Shona-speaking people were subjected to Ndebele invaders, who forced them to pay tribute. British and Boer traders and hunters moved into the area, and the London Missionary Society established a mission to the Ndebele in 1861. In 1889 the British South Africa Company, organized by Cecil Rhodes, obtained a charter to promote commerce and colonization in the region. Leander Starr Jameson, an associate of Rhodes, led a column of South African and British pioneers deep into the interior, where they founded (1890) Fort Salisbury. Fighting in 1893 resulted in ...
Zimbabwe is going for a national election in less than 18 months. Presidential candidates will be Joice Mujuru, Morgan Tsvangirai and Lovemore Madhuku - possibly plus one or two insignificant names. The major factor to lead to an election well before 2018 will be the collapse of the lie and sham of July 31, 2013, when the Zanu PF mafia staged a thoroughly fraudulent farce of an election. Attempts to scrounge for legitimacy on the basis of that lie are yielding nothing, even at home, where key decision makers are clearly skeptical, demotivated and disillusioned. Even entities wholly controlled by the Zanu dictatorship, such as the power utility, are not only sinking in despondency and uncertainty, but also including sabotage in their work plans. The insincere act of rapprochement, reform and engagement by the dictatorship can only have a few buyers, because that trick has been applied at every turn when the going gets tough for the regime, and therefore has run its course. Apparent and virtual failure by t ...
« » Pause Mugabe dig into Madhuku political party MONDAY, 30 SEPTEMBER 2013 11:14 EDITOR NEWS HARARE - President Robert Mugabe’s Zanu PF has poured scorn on National Constitutional Assembly (NCA) chairman Lovemore Madhuku’s bid to form a new opposition political party, saying his project was “doomed.” Madhuku’s NCA holds its long overdue congress today where the University of Zimbabwe law lecturer will officially step down and subsequently launch his political party which the law professor says will be “Pan-African.” Psychology Maziwisa, Zanu PF junior spokesperson, tore into Madhuku on Thursday evening during a public seminar held in Harare, declaring that the constitutional law expert was wasting his time trying to form a useless party. “We understand that Madhuku wants to quit NCA to form his own party. We ask the Lord to bless him in his endeavours. But everybody knows that the Madhuku party will not bring anything new,” Maziwisa said. “His party is an attempt to hoodwink Zimb .. ...
Zimbabwe: Keep to New York, U.S Tells Mugabe 30 September 2013 , Source: New Zimbabwe (Photo: UN Multimedia) President Robert Mugabe was told not to stray beyond a 25-mile radius of New York during United Nations meetings last week, infuriating aides who accused the United States of harassment. Mugabe took his wife, Grace, and children, Bona and Bellarmine, to New York where he attended the 68th Session of the UN General Assembly meeting and berated Western countries for maintaining sanctions against Zimbabwe. Under the sanctions, which Mugabe blames for the country's economic problems, the veteran leader is barred from travelling to the US and other Western countries but can attend meetings of the UN. However, last week the US reminded Mugabe and his delegation which also included Foreign Affairs Minister Simbarashe Mumbengegwi, presidential spokesperson George Charamba and CIO director-general Happyton Bonyongwe to remain within a prescribed radius of New York. "I hereby determine it to be reasonably ne ...
Harare – Zimbabwe’s high court on Thursday ordered the release of 21 opposition activists detained for over two years in connection with the death of a police officer, their lawyer said. “Twenty-one of the opposition activists have been acquitted by the high court for lack of evidence while seven have been put to trial,” lawyer Charles Kwaramba told AFP. “The acquittal today confirms what we said from day one that these people had no case to answer and should not have been in custody all this time.” The 28 members and officials of the opposition Movement for Democratic Change (MDC) party have been detained since May 2011 on allegations of killing an officer as riot police broke up an MDC rally. They all denied the charges. One of them, Rebecca Mafikeni, died in a state hospital where she had been transferred from remand prison in August. In a eulogy at Mafikeni’s graveside MDC leader Morgan Tsvangirai condemned the activists’ lengthy incarceration as “an indictment of our justice system ...

MDC-T Leadership renewal: Putting new wine in old wineskins? September 30, 2013 in Columnists, Opinion Mark 2:22 “And no man putteth new wine into old bottles: else the new wine doth burst the bottles, and the wine is spilled, and the bottles will be marred: but new wine must be put into new bottles.” By Arnold Chamunogwa The debate on leadership renewal within the MDC-T has been reduced to calls for the immediate resignation of its party leader Morgan Tsvangirai. These calls have come from two distinct groups of individuals; those who have been disillusioned and frustrated by the party’s unexpected but avoidable failures and those who feel let down by the party as they viewed its likely successes as opportunities to reclaim their lost economic interests. The latter group has been the loudest and represented by former white farmers such as Ben Freeth, Ian Kay and Roy Bennet. Whilst I agree that it is high time Morgan Tsvangirai hands over presidency of the party I totally disagree with the timing of ...

the first day of the seminar participants made presentations about the political work of parties and NGOs in their countries. Discent Bajila, a Zimbabwean representative of MDC-Mutambara who does not include Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe in the list of his friends, spoke about the Zimbabwean predicament. He said a lot of bad things about Mugabe. He accused Mugabe of being a dictator and his Government for gross human rights violations and destruction of the economy. Bajila had also said bad things against Morgan Tsvangirai, the leader of the other faction of the MDC which is preferred by the West. Amazingly Dr. Freier played deaf and chose not to comment on what the Zimbabwean said about Tsvangirai.

I am heartened by the unity of purpose shown, not only by the Kenyan political leadership and people, but by the entire world in comforting victims of the cowardly Westgate Mall shootings. Let’s continue to pray for our brothers and sisters in Kenya and let’s continue demanding that the perpetrators of the heinous act face justice. But most importantly, let’s draw strength from Deuteronomy 31:6, which says: “Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the LORD your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you.” Honourable Prime Minister of Zimbabwe Morgan Tsvangirai
