Australia lose second Carlton Mid ODI The squad will be released at 10.00am WST on tomorrow (Monday) morning. South Africa have beaten Australia by three wickets with 22 overs remaining in the second Carlton Mid ODI match in Perth today. After winning the toss and electing to bat Australia's batting order failed to fire and were bowled out in the 42nd over, after posting 154 runs. Mitchell Marsh was the best of the Aussie batsman scoring 67 runs. Morne Morkel (5-21) was strong with the ball for South Africa taking five wickets for the tourists. In response, Australia fought back with the ball and Josh Hazlewood picked up his first five wicket haul for Australia finishing with 5-31. South Africa's David (22*) hit the winning runs with 22 overs left to spare in the match.

Pakistan close in on victory 56-ball century underlined the hosts' dominance as Australia keep six wickets in hand for the final day Australia have extended this second Test match into a fifth day, which is perhaps a moral victory of sorts, but Pakistan are just six wickets away from a comprehensive Test series sweep in Abu Dhabi. Steven Smith (38) and Mitchell Marsh (26) reached stumps with Australia limping along at 4-143. After Pakistan skipper Misbah-ul-Haq hammered the equal-fastest century in Test history, from just 56 balls, Australia were set a target of 603, or 138 overs to survive. By stumps, the calculations had reduced to 460 required, or 90 overs for survival. Both options seem highly improbable based on Australia's performances thus far in this two-Test series. To compound problems for Australia, they were required to use two substitute fielders for their final session in the field. Brad Haddin had injured his right shoulder diving for a catch on the third morning and although he will be rig ...

England bowlers toil in first Ashes warmup . England made a poor start to their Australia tour on Thursday with their fancied bowling attack forced to toil by a second-string Western Australia Chairman's XI at Perth. With most of their frontline players busy on Sheffield Shield duty, the local team was expected to roll over for the tourists but their top order powered them to 369 for four at stumps on the opening day of the three-day practice match. After Luke Towers (77) and Marcus Harris (69) put together a strong 115-run opening stand, Chris Lynn (104) and Mitchell Marsh (58) built on the foundation as all top four batsmen posted half centuries. Lynn, dropped on 68 by Chris Tremlett off Joe Root, hit 16 boundaries and a six in his 124-ball knock. Jim Allenby (34) and Ashton Turner (17) will return on Friday hoping to further frustrate the tourists. Apart from James Anderson (1-31), who had Harris caught by Ian Bell at gully, none of the English bowlers could pose much trouble to the batsmen. Tremlett a ...

Spinner Fawad Ahmed, tipped to be in Australia's squad to face England, has been named on the A tour which takes place at the same time as the Ashes. Pakistan-born Fawad, 31, sought refuge in Australia in 2010 after saying he was being persecuted by the Taliban. His passport application should be fast-tracked in time for the Ashes series, which begins on 10 July, in case he is called up as a replacement. Australia A's tour of South Africa and Zimbabwe begins on 18 July. Australia A squad: Steven Smith (capt), Aaron Finch (vice-capt), Ashton Agar, Fawad Ahmed, Nathan Coulter-Nile, Pat Cummins, Alex Doolan, Josh Hazlewood, Moises Henriques, Nic Maddinson, Mitchell Marsh, Shaun Marsh, Glenn Maxwell, Tim Paine (wk), Gurinder Sandhu, Chadd Sayers.

Team news aus vs sl Michael Clarke trained with the squad in the lead-up to the match but was still considered an unlikely starter, with Australia's medical staff and team management taking a cautious approach with his back injury ahead of the Ashes. Xavier Doherty came in for Mitchell Starc last game and is expected to retain his position. Australia (possible) 1 Shane Watson, 2 Matthew Wade (wk), 3 Phillip Hughes, 4 George Bailey (capt), 5 Adam Voges, 6 Mitchell Marsh, 7 Glenn Maxwell, 8 James Faulkner, 9 Mitchell Johnson, 10 Clint McKay, 11 Xavier Doherty. Shaminda Eranga was expensive in the win over England at the same venue and could be challenged for a place in the side by either Thisara Perera or the spinner Sachithra Senanayake. Australian cricket is in the wilderness and lost.Weak from the top down (i.e Administration) Where is Haddin, Wade doesnt even know the base of batting.. Where is Steve Smith?? Where is Shaun Marsh?? Where is Hauritz, why not only single regular spin??? Why not to try Usman Khwaja??? Why not Maxwell in for Mitchell Marsh?? Once i heard Andrew symonds and Mike hussey complained Cricket Board that they didn't get enough time to bat on.. Where is that Cricket Australia??
Voges and Mitchell Marsh aren't enough capable to replace David Hussey and Henriques in middle Aussies, better u find proper replacements quickly or ur spot in semis will b replaced by other team.
GROUP A-AUSTRALIA: The two-time champions kick off their campaign against hosts England on June 8, with whom they are expected to spar for the next few months. On paper, it can be said that the Australian pace attack might be a little short on experience, barring Johnson and Starc that is. But at the end of the day, they will have to be judged by what they do on the field. David Warner and Shane Watson, bring the fireworks to a batting line-up that should be up to scratch against the moving ball, given that most of them have county experience. But will they be able to do enough to become the last team to win the Champions Trophy? Squad: Michael Clarke (captain), George Bailey, David Warner, Shane Watson, Phillip Hughes, Adam Voges, Matthew Wade, Glenn Maxwell, Mitchell Marsh, James Faulkner, Xavier Doherty, Clint McKay, Mitchell Johnson, Mitchell Starc, Nathan Coulter-Nile.

He replaced legspinner Rahul Sharma. Warriors, however, lost the toss and were asked to field by Kolkata Knight Riders, who still have a mathematical interest in the game. Knight Riders made two changes to their team. They brought in Manoj Tiwary, who missed a few matches due to injury, and Ryan ten Doeschate, who is playing for the first time this season, replacing Debabrata Das and Ryan McLaren. So I thought to look at the prospects of each team. Australia: Pros: As reigning champions and still the 4th ranked team, there will be a degree of expectation about this. Shane Watson is Australia's highest ranked batsman at 9th but is only the 3rd highest ODI all-rounder as he doesn't bowl all that often anymore. Michael Clarke and George Bailey have also done reasonably well of late, while Warner can do well but beyond that they struggle. Their bowling stocks look considerably better with Clint McKay still somewhat of a mystery and they could launch a pace barrage with the likes of Mitchell Johnson and Mitchell Starc able to join McKay, while new guy Nathan Coulter-Nile and all-rounder James Faulkner could also come in to contention. Mitchell Marsh rejoins the squad and may provide some ...
3 All rounders Luke Wright and Mitchell Marsh + make a strong hope they will WIN 2nite !!
Angelo Mathews & Mitchell Marsh are out Luke Wright and Ajantha Mendis are in. Yuvraj is back, veteran Delhi batsman M Manhas is in as well.
Luke Wright and Ajantha Mendis come in for Angelo Mathews and Mitchell Marsh in the line up
Enough is Enough. Angelo Matthews should drop himself now. Get in Luke Wright. Also , Ross Taylor for Mitchell Marsh.
Mitchell Marsh isn't doing anything and he's got to be a better captain than Angelo Mathews.
If Pune win this game, and Steve Smith scores runs. Where does that leave Angelo Matthews? Drop Mitchell Marsh to accomodate him?
Mitchell Marsh is a good cricketer, but to play him over Luke Wright is a tactical blunder. Also wonder why no chances to Tamim Iqbal.
The same sort of logic that leads you to pick Mitchell Marsh & Aaron Finch over Steve Smith & Luke Wright?
Luke Wright :) :) :) :) :) :) Really wish you were playing instead of Mitchell Marsh and not doing interviews.
why the *** is Luke Wright not playing?Isnt he d best t20 englishman around ..atleast better den . Mitchell Marsh .

West Australian coach Justin Langer has said he is thrilled by the comeback his side has made in their current Shield game vs Tasmania. WA was bowled out for 97 in their first innings, and had collapsed to 3/12 in the second innings. At 5/137, WA's young middle order fought back. "I'm thrilled about the way the boys have fought back again," he said. "I think even if we lost by 50 or 100 runs I was still going to be pleased with the way the boys have fought. "Mitchell Marsh and Sam Whiteman and Ashton Agar, they are only 20-year-old kids or 21-year-old kids, so I've been really thrilled with the way they've fought back." West Australia needs 6 runs, Tasmania needs 2 wickets, play resumes in just under 30 minutes. If you wish to view the final moments of this game, head to the link that I've posted below.

Sri Lanka Cricket has named 56 foreign players who will play in the inaugural Sri Lanka Premier League. There are no India or England players - apart from Azhar Mahmood - among the 56, who were picked by the seven franchises via a draft system in Colombo on Thursday. Shahid Afridi* was originally supposed to be the icon player for Nagenahira but all the franchises wanted to make sure their icon players were available throughout the tournament. Due to the recently announced Australia-Pakistan series that starts on August 28th, Afridi would potentially miss the semi-finals and finals of Uthura: Shakib Al Hasan (25,000), Brendan Taylor (10,000), Kevon Cooper (15,000), Imran Farhat (20,000), Fidel Edwards (20,000), David Miller (25,000), Dillon du Preez (20,000), Samuel Badree (20,000) Nagenahira: Mitchell Marsh (30,000), Imran Nazir (20,000), Travis Birt (25,000), Ahmed Shahzad (20,000), Ben Laughlin (20,000), Elias Sunny (12,000), Musfiqur Rahim (20,000), Nasir Hossain (16,000) Ruhuna: Shahid Afridi (50,000 ...

MUMBAI: Pune skipper Sourav Ganguly faces a big hurdle when he leads a severely depleted team against Mumbai, who are on a high after spanking defending champions Chennai in the IPL opener. The only respite for Ganguly is the uncertainty surrounding the availability of Sachin Tendulkar, who hurt his finger in Wednesday's opener. "The scans haven't revealed anything serious and hopefully he should be available for the game," said Mumbai captain Harbhajan Singh. Mumbai are gunning for their first title and look formidable. The addition of South Africa's opener Richard Levi, who made a smashing IPL debut by blasting 50 off 35 balls, and left-arm spinner Pragyan Ojha, who picked up two crucial wickets to kick off his Mumbai sojourn in style, has added more muscle to the CLT20 winners. Pune, who finished second last in the previous season, look weaker this time. While the team lost South Africa's Test captain Graeme Smith recently and Australian allrounders Mitchell Marsh and James Hopes earlier, the biggest b ...
