Good morning, y'all! Today is the debut of the NBA regular season. There are 30 teams reaching for that one prestigious goal: the NBA championship! Out of 30 teams, 12 of the teams have African American head coaches. They are Jason Kidd of the Brooklyn Nets, Mike Brown of the Cleveland Cavaliers, Brian Shaw of the Denver Nuggets, Maurice Cheeks of the Detroit Pistons, Mark Jackson of the Golden State Warriors, Doc Rivers of the Los Angeles Clippers, Larry Drew of the Milwaukee Bucks, Monty Williams of the New Orleans Pelicans, Mike Woodson of the New York Knicks, Jacque Vaughn of the Orlando Magic, Dwane Casey of the Toronto Raptors, and Tyrone Corbin of the Utah Jazz. Only Doc Rivers has a ring when he won the title in 2008 when he coached the Boston Celtics while Jason Kidd is the only coach who won a title as a player when he did it in 2011 with the Dallas Mavericks. Brian Shaw finally got a head coaching job that was long overdue. Since he was in the shadow of legendary coach Phil Jackson, he should b ...

Maurice "Mo" Williams (born December 19, 1982, in Jackson, Mississippi) is an American professional basketball player who currently plays for the Utah Jazz of the National Basketball Association. After a successful high school career at Murrah High School, Williams attended college at the University of Alabama where he led his team as a freshman to a 27-8 record, and also shared an SEC regular season championship. After two solid seasons at Alabama, Williams entered the 2003 NBA Draft, and was selected as the 47th pick by the Utah Jazz. The following year he signed with the Milwaukee Bucks as a free agent. Williams was given the starting point guard position after Milwaukee traded their former starting point guard, T.J. Ford to the Toronto Raptors. This movement opened up a chance for Williams to make a name for himself not only on the Milwaukee Bucks, but in the NBA as well. Williams averaged over 30 minutes a game, as well as other career achievements. On August 13, 2008, Williams was a part of a three- ...
proud of copeland - The Dallas Mavericks, Los Angeles Lakers, Utah Jazz, Milwaukee Bucks, Washington Wizards, New Orleans Pelicans, Oklahoma City Thunder and the Toronto Raptors are all interested in Chris Copeland who received a qualifying offer from the New York Knicks yesterday. - The Milwaukee Bucks have strong interest in J.R. Smith and have enough cap space to outbid the Knicks. The Detroit Pistons and the Phoenix Suns are interested in him as well. The New York Knicks extended a qualifying offer to Pablo Prigioni, making him a restricted free agent.
Going to a place I haven't been too in over 10 years - the Bradley Center in Milwaukee to watch the Milwaukee Bucks play the Utah Jazz. Hoping Sidney Moncrief or Marques Johnson shows up to play.
More NBA-Speaking of trades, there have been a lot of hot trade rumors regarding New York Knicks backup point guard Iman Shumpert. The four big rumors have him going to the Phoenix Suns for Jarred Dudley, to the Orlando Magic for J.J. Reddick, to the Utah Jazz for Paul Millsap or to the Milwaukee Bucks for Brandon Jennings.
I listened to NBA Analyst Chris Webber last weak go into great lengths to indicate that the Eastern Conference of the NBA is so much worse than the Western Coonfernce. In fact his words were "The East is horrible" & this is not the case. Webber must not be paying attention to the standing. As it stands, the 7th team in the East is the Milwaukee Bucks at 23-19 & if they were in the West, they would be the 7th seed over the Utah Jazz & would push the currently 8th seeded Rockets out of the playoffs. In fact the only team in the East that under 500 & in playoff position are the Boston Celtics at 21-23. So while I know the perception in recent years is that the West is superior to the East, the reality is that the conferences are closer than Webber would lead you to believe from top to bottom.
Tune in now to the Milwaukee Bucks vs. the Detroit Pistons it is halftime right now and the score is 45-55 Detroit is winning, also tune in to the San Antonio Spurs at the Dallas Mavericks it is also halftime and the score is 57-45 San Antonio is in the lead. Tune in tonight as the Sacramento Kings host the Boston Celtics! That game is at 9:00 Eastern, 8 Central. And finally tune in as the Los Angeles Clippers host the Utah Jazz, that game is at 9:30 eastern, 8:30 Central!!!
We have a total of nine games tonight guys and only one will be nationally televised. NBA TV apparently thinks the game between the Suns and the Blazers is the most interesting game tonight, gotta say I couldn't disagree more. I would rather see the Bulls at Hawks game or the Lakers at Warriors game but that's just me. Anyways, here are the game schedules for tonight: Detroit Pistons at Washington Wizards at 7:00 ET Chicago Bulls at Atlanta Hawks at 7:00 ET Utah Jazz at Miami Heat at 7:30 ET Indiana Pacers at New Orleans Hornets at 8:00 ET Memphis Grizzlies at Houston Rockets at 8:00 ET Cleveland Cavs at Milwaukee Bucks at 8:30 ET Charlotte Bobcats at Denver Nuggets at 9:00 ET Phoenix Suns at Portland Trail Blazers at 10:30 ET (NBA TV) LA Lakers at Golden State Warriors at 10:30 ET
Sorry for the one day absence of the Must-See Matchups. Here are the great games for tonight: -Brooklyn Nets at New York Knicks- The third game in this series is already underway. Melo is back and ready to avenge their first home loss against crosstown rivals Deron Williams and the Nets. -Utah Jazz at Indiana Pacers- Al Jefferson and Roy Hibbert collide under the basket as both teams look to make a statement. -OKC Thunder at Atlanta Hawks- Serge Ibaka looks to light up offensively and defensively against Josh Smith's Hawks. Can the scorching Thunder team win at Atlanta? -Philadelphia 76ers at Houston Rockets- Following a high outing at Madison Square Garden, Jeremy Lin looks to carry the momentum against the 76ers. -Milwaukee Bucks at Memphis Grizzlies- Brandon Jennings looks like he's ready to go on another offensive tear against the ferocious Grizzlies. Will Mike Conley stop Jennings? -New Orleans Hornets at LA Clippers- The Brow will finally have the chance to face the high-flying Blake Griffin. Can An ...
Why a Millsap-Gasol trade works It may take a blockbuster three-team deal, but Millsap makes a good fit in L.A. If Paul Millsap isn't trying to audition for a Hollywood role, he sure does look the part. We've heard all sorts of names connected to the Lakers in possible trade talks for Pau Gasol, including Toronto Raptors 7-footer Andrea Bargnani, Atlanta Hawks forward Josh Smith, Denver Nuggets forward Danilo Gallinari, Minnesota Timberwolves forward Derrick Williams and Milwaukee Bucks forward Ersan Ilyasova. But one name that should pop up more is Millsap, the Utah Jazz big man. There are a few reasons Millsap probably doesn't garner the attention of a player his caliber: 1) He plays in a small market; 2) he's stuck in a logjam of big men in Utah with varying degrees of upside and productivity; and 3) he doesn't have a flashy game (he dunks about once every three games). However, Millsap makes a lot of sense as a trade target for the madly inconsistent Lakers. For one, he's healthy, which is no small th ...
I want the NBA season to end rite now, cause, this is the playoffs matchup will look like after 10-13 games of the regular season, in the Eastern Conference, seed Miami Heat-seed Charlotte Bobcats, seed Brooklyn Nets-seed Boston Celtics, seed New York Knicks-seed Philadelphia 76ers, and finally the seed Milwaukee Bucks-seed Atlanta Hawks, thats the Eastern Conference playoff picture as of right now. For the Western Conference playoff picture its seed Memphis Grizzlies-seed Los Angles Lakers, seed San Antonio Spurs-seed Utah Jazz, seed Oklahoma City Thunder-seed Denver Nuggets and finally the seed Golden State Warriors-Los Angles Clippers, thats how the NBA playoffs should look like at season end in April, and I hope I'm right as of right now
