Random Thought For Consideration: I'm starting to wonder if the Donald Sterling Clipper fiasco was nothing more than an elaborate scheme to get more money than the value it had at the time of the controversy. Maybe Donald is a cunning racist who didn't want to sell to a "black guy", given that Magic Johnson was instrumental in the purchase of the Dodgers. Surely Dr. Dre', Floyd Mayweather and a few others could've split or raised $700 million...but 2B? So if the Clippers are now worth 2B, whats the Orlando Magic or Milwaukee Bucks worth now? With very few minority owners, we applauded the force sale but didn't realize how high the stakes had gone...
The 2014 NBA draft lottery will take place in New York City on Tuesday night, with the Milwaukee Bucks, Philadelphia 76ers and Orlando Magic holding the highest odds of coming away with the No. 1 overall pick in the June 26 draft. Here's what you need to know to get ready for the big night.
1. Milwaukee Bucks (10-45): Jabari Parker (Duke) – Something like 34 percent of lottery selections from 2004 to 2008 are out of the league already and Parker has the highest floor of any prospect by a mile. 2. Philadelphia 76ers (15-41): Joel Embiid (Kansas) – GMs looking for a high ceiling player need not look further as Embiid is a top notch prospect who has been playing basketball for just three years. His offensive development has been nothing short of astonishing and he has drawn comparisons to Hakeem Olajuwon. 3. Orlando Magic (17-41): Andrew Wiggins (Kansas) – Wiggins has unquestionably faced growing pains this season, but his reputation has tended to magnify his struggles. The truth lies somewhere in between as he has certainly still been one of the country’s most impressive freshmen. 4. Boston Celtics (19-38): Dante Exum (Australia) – Scouts project Exum as a point guard at the next level largely due to his developed ball handling and passing. His excellent length for the position (he s ...

Good morning, y'all! Today is the debut of the NBA regular season. There are 30 teams reaching for that one prestigious goal: the NBA championship! Out of 30 teams, 12 of the teams have African American head coaches. They are Jason Kidd of the Brooklyn Nets, Mike Brown of the Cleveland Cavaliers, Brian Shaw of the Denver Nuggets, Maurice Cheeks of the Detroit Pistons, Mark Jackson of the Golden State Warriors, Doc Rivers of the Los Angeles Clippers, Larry Drew of the Milwaukee Bucks, Monty Williams of the New Orleans Pelicans, Mike Woodson of the New York Knicks, Jacque Vaughn of the Orlando Magic, Dwane Casey of the Toronto Raptors, and Tyrone Corbin of the Utah Jazz. Only Doc Rivers has a ring when he won the title in 2008 when he coached the Boston Celtics while Jason Kidd is the only coach who won a title as a player when he did it in 2011 with the Dallas Mavericks. Brian Shaw finally got a head coaching job that was long overdue. Since he was in the shadow of legendary coach Phil Jackson, he should b ...

It was a big night for Africa at the NBA Draft, headlined by the Orlando Magic selecting Nigerian American Victor Oladipo as the No. 2 pick in the draft. Giannis Antentokounmpo was picked by the Milwaukee Bucks as No. 15 while Senegalese Gorgui Dieng was selected as the No. 21 pick by the Jazz and traded to the Minnesota Timberwolves. Also making an appearance at the draft night was NBA Legend Hakeem Olajuwon. What was your biggest surprise at the draft?
Watching the Orlando Magic and Milwaukee Bucks game for no reason. Aaron Afflalo is bussin' the Bucks' *** I always thought he was terrible
Friday Forum-NBA-A very quite trade deadline yesterday. Only moves did not add up to much. Locally, the Hawks traded guard Anthony Morrow to the Dallas Mavericks for forward Dhanty Jones. The Orlando Magic traded J.J. Reddick to the Milwaukee Bucks. The Celtics obtained guard Jordan Crawford for the injured guard Leandro Barbosa and center/forward Jason Collins. The New York Knicks traded swingman Ronnie Brewer to the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Who's got the better end of the deal between the Orlando Magic and the Milwaukee Bucks? Please respond by 10:00pm. Fear The Deer!
More NBA-Speaking of trades, there have been a lot of hot trade rumors regarding New York Knicks backup point guard Iman Shumpert. The four big rumors have him going to the Phoenix Suns for Jarred Dudley, to the Orlando Magic for J.J. Reddick, to the Utah Jazz for Paul Millsap or to the Milwaukee Bucks for Brandon Jennings.
We will have these money, it is a 2013 plan! Buy an NBA Team for $350 Mill For a cool 350 million dollars you could be the proud owner of the Orlando Magic. It seems a bit cheap if you think about it, adding up the ticket sales, merchandising and salaries of all their players, staff, dancers, employees and executives. Sports Business Radio has an August 2006 article which lists 5 teams out you can buy each for under 350 million. They include the Portland Trailblazers, Orlando Magic, Milwaukee Bucks, Philadelphia 76ers and Memphis Grizzlies. Not too bad at all. Particularly appealing, and probably now selling for a much higher price, are the Trailblazers with future prodigy, Greg Oden, considered a franchise/cornerstone player. In related news a website called Make Money with Super Affiliate Zac Johnson discusses how a woman sold the rights to the internet domain name "bobcats.com" to the Bobcats for $50,000 which just might be nice for most of us, but could have been a bargain sale for the Bobcats.
The ENBA Morning News: - Larry Sanders (MIL) remains a gametime decision today due to his back injury. - J.J. Redick (shoulder, ORL) will determine in today's shootaround if he can play. On that note, the Milwaukee Bucks are the latest team to express an interest in acquiring Orlando Magic guard J.J. Redick before the 2013 NBA trading deadline of February 21st. - The Clippers are very confident that Chris Paul will not leave this summer. As one source close to the situation put it this week when asked to grade the Clips' chances of retaining CP3, keeping in mind his well-chronicled love of the Hollywood scene and the fact that this team was good enough to reel off 17 wins in a row earlier this season: 'I'm saying 99.5 percent.' - Dwight Howard on the other hand, well, who knows. However, Rashard Lewis believes Dwight Howard will re-sign with Lakers. 'My gut feeling is I think he will. I think he will be in L.A. He most definitely likes the city, likes the organization. It's one of the first-class organiza ...

Out of the blue got a call from a Los Angeles radio staton wanting to talk about the history of Canadian hoops in realtionship to NBA. Every so often various media outlets contact me for such as yours truly is considered a Canadian basketball historian and have written on such for the NBA over the many years. They caught me off guard with one question though, asking to name the current eight Canadians ready to suit up in opening night action tonight in NBA. Forgot one of the eight listed here: Joel Anthony, Miami Heat; Samuel Dalembert, Milwaukee Bucks; Cory Joseph, San Antonio Spurs; Kris Joseph, Boston Celtics; Steve Nash, Los Angeles Lakers; Andrew Nicholson, Orlando Magic; Robert Sacre, Los Angeles Lakers; Tristan Thompson, Cleveland Cavaliers But a quick question. The game has not happened yet so is it part of history? So in that I forgot, I never really knew yet as it did not happen?
