Steelers GM Kevin Colbert and Coach Mike Tomlin will continue their search for potential players at the NFL combine.
Surprisingly, when Kevin Colbert said he wanted to acquire Jacoby Jones, Mike Tomlin didn't stand in the way.
I still do not like Mike Tomlin for this team. Also Kevin Colbert needs to go. Signed mitchell, cortez, blount, etc. Time for a new staff.
The Steelers have issues with Art Rooney II, Kevin Colbert, & Mike Tomlin. They are stuck in the 70’S & the league has passed them by!!
raise your hands if you think Art Rooney, Kevin Colbert and Mike Tomlin can fix this mess…..
Pressure the QB! Peyton Manning looked favorite to win the SuperBowl until he met Seattle Seahawks. Fans across the board was all about Richard Sherman being the best. Yet an article written and talks with Mike Tomlin shows the fans what is truly on Pittsburgh mind. Manning was being pressured by Seattle so much that Mannng was given 2.4 seconds to throw the football. Being rushed Manning misfired all 6 deep balls and one was picked off. The blitz was coming from all directions. *** LeBeau and Tomlin was use to blitzburgh and last year older players and young guys hurt the pass rush. Kevin Colbert and Tomlin stated they drafted Ryan Shazier and Stephon Tuitt to be play makers. The secondary looks the same because the front 7 had to change. The front 7 got younger and faster. Which will allow Polamalu to play his position instead of linebacker. Even though fans will say I am wrong you have to look what the coaches are doing and saying. The front 7 means alot more in the burgh than a shut down corner whe .. ...
blished: Thursday, May 8, 2014, 11:24 p.m. Updated 1 hour ago They'd better be right. To put it kindly, the Steelers' brass hasn't earned the benefit of anyone's doubt over the past half-decade's worth of evaluating college talent. So when their turn came Thursday night in the NFL Draft at No. 15 overall, and pretty much the entirety of the football world anticipated a cornerback — the franchise's greatest need by such a margin that there's no real runner-up — the name called was that of … an inside linebacker: Ohio State's Ryan Shazier. As Mike Tomlin would say, obviously. And as Tomlin and Kevin Colbert actually did say moments after making the pick at the Steelers' South Side HQ, if anyone thought they'd set out to fill a specific need, then think again. “You have to put blinders on the ‘need' word,” Colbert said. “What we needed was a defensive playmaker. And he's a defensive playmaker.” I asked both men if the glaring need at corner — Ike Taylor is 34, and he and Cortez Allen are co ...

Mike Tomlin and Kevin Colbert have done an EXCELLENT job of turning the Steelers into an average team.
Steelers 'open' to change, but options limited November 5, 2013 PITTSBURGH -- Pittsburgh Steelers Coach Mike Tomlin insists he's "not opposed to turning over any stone" to breathe some life into his listless team. Midway through the season, there may be no stones left. Not at 2-6. Trades. Waiver wire signings. Minor starting lineup tweaks. Cutting underperforming players. Banning shuffleboard, pool and ping pong in the locker room. Tomlin and general manager Kevin Colbert have tried it all in the two months the franchise has appeared in free fall following a decade of nearly unparalleled success. Since reaching 6-3 with an overtime win against Kansas City last November, the Steelers are 4-11. Tomlin stressed on Tuesday the potential for turning it around remains in the locker room, even after a 55-31 gouging by New England last weekend. Yet the Steelers couldn't change much in the middle of the season because the trade deadline has passed. The waiver wire is barren and the injured reserve list is thick wi ...
Okay, so this goes out to all the Steelers fans that are deciding who should go & who should stay. Keep in mind I'm not saying I'm right, I'm just stating my opinion. I believe Kevin Colbert & Mike Tomlin should go. Ever since Bill Cowher has left, they have been slowly rolling down hill. Yes, I know Tomlin has won a Super Bowl already BUT he had 14 of the 22 starters that started in Super Bowl XL with Bill Cowher to start for him in Super Bowl XLIII. People say Todd Haley should go, but if weren't for his great coaching the Arizona Cardinals wouldn't have came rolling back & almost beat them in Super Bowl XLIII. Haley & Roethlisberger are agreeing more, I think they are the least of your worries. I love Lebeau, I don't think we should get rid of him but I believe he should restrict Troy Polamalu from his freestyle of play. He can still play the game just not the way he was used to. Tom Brady last week made him look very weak & child like. But besides that here's where I think the problem is, we only hav ...
Good Morning FB Family and Friends. Fun weekend on the North Shore with great people regardless of the outcome of the games. We'll get them next time. Pirates magic number is 2 to clinch a playoff spot with 6 games to go. The Steelers, its going to be a tough season but we still have to believe. Reds pound Pirates 11-3, forcing tie for wild card. Pirates and Reds are 2 games behind the Cardinals in the NL Central. Tonight Pirates Charlie Morton 7-4 at Cubs Jeff Samardzija 8-12 at 8:05 pm Wrigley Field. Lets Go Bucs! Bears stay unbeaten with victory over error-prone Steelers 40-23. If it wasn't for Antonio Brown 9 catches for 196 yards and 2 TD the margin of defeat would have been much greater. Kevin Colbert and Mike Tomlin should both being feeling the heat. Next up is the Vikings on Sunday in London, England. Here We Go Steelers, Here We Go! Pitt homecoming game against Virginia this Saturday Heinz Field at 12:30 pm. Current line is Pitt - 7.0. It should be a beautiful day with high of 73 and no chance o ...
I think the Steelers should hire Bill Cowher to work with GM Kevin Colbert to bring in the right players instead of Mike Tomlin. Cowher proved that he could rebuild a team after having losing seasons. Not only was the rebuild a success, but he ended up winning a Super Bowl. Tomlin on the other hand won his Super Bowl with players that Cowher had a hand in drafting.
SE ACABO AMIGOS JAMES HARRISON FUE CORTADO POR LOS STEELERS General manager Kevin Colbert has declared the Steelers are not a team in transition. Someone forgot to tell James Harrison that because the Steelers today released the former NFL defensive player of the year. The Steelers had been negotiating with Harrison the past week, trying to work out a pay cut on a 2013 salary of $6.57 million. The five-time Pro Bowl linebacker was willing to do so, his agent said, but not enough of one to satisfy the salary cap-strapped team. "We could not get together financially at all,'' said Bill Parise, Harrison's agent who lives in Beaver County. "We certainly had agreed to take a paycut but apparently there was a difference in how much of a paycut we would take and how we would take it. "It simply came down to money. It's all about the salary cap." So the Steelers, who released three of their iconic long-term veterans a year ago, began the run-up to 2013 free agency that starts Tuesday by releasing one of their bes ...
One of the best Quotes I have heard a while..."As long as Roethlisberger is healthy, Mike Tomlin is the coach and Kevin Colbert is the GM, we expect the Steelers to contend every season." Well, 2 out of 3 ain't bad...
Kevin Colbert says Mike Tomlin is a huge Danny Smith fan from his time coaching vs him. Colbert was on staff w/ Smith in DET years ago.
The Pittsburgh Steelers Draft Wish List has Some Possible Realities to It! The Pittsburgh Steelers will need to use the 2013 NFL draft to fill as many holes on the roster as possible. Without significant money to spend on free agents and with significant depth problems, this is the most crucial draft of the Mike Tomlin era. Here’s a look at what Kevin Colbert, his staff and Mike Tomlin have on their wish lists for April. We’ll look at these by position and break down prospects that fit each. Safety Troy Polamalu is coming down to the end. 2012 was a lost season for Pittsburgh’s signature defender. His body is breaking down and his absence seems to be part of every season now. The first task for Kevin Colbert is to lower Polamalu’s cap hit for next season. His second task is much more important, however. He must use the draft to uncover the next Troy Polamalu. At the very least, he must secure the depth chart behind him. Potential Fits Matt Elam is the best fit and should be available when Pittsbur ...
As a team that typically isn’t very active in free agency, the NFL Draft is really the only true building tool for the Pittsburgh Steelers. Steelers’ general manager Kevin Colbert has the reputation as a draft guru, but paired with head Coach Mike Tomlin, the decision making process of drafting talent has not been very good as of late as it seems as if that Colbert has been getting by on reputation. You can directly attribute the current state of the Steelers and their lack of playmakers and overall depth right to failed drafts the past four years. Most of that can be attributed to swinging and missing on their first and second round picks over that time period. Granted, with a veteran team it can be difficult to draft playmakers as there weren’t many jobs available, but the facts are that the Steelers have not drafted well. Let’s start with the 2008 draft that saw the Steelers select Rashard Mendenhall and Limas Sweed with their first two picks. Mendenhall was productive, but he won’t be re-si ...
I'm really hoping that Kevin Colbert, Mike Tomlin, and the rest of the Pittsburgh Steelers organization are watching the sheer intensity and excitement that is occurring in Atlanta right now, and that a raging fire is lit inside of them to get their organization back to where it belongs... Hosting a game on this particular weekend of the NFL calendar.
Awesome display of football by the 49ers tonight! The way football ought to be played. Especially on offense! I hope Mike Tomlin, Ben Roethlisberger, Art Rooney II, and Kevin Colbert were watching!

The steelers should sign Chad Johnson, I think the Rooneys, Mike Tomlin, and Kevin Colbert could put him in line and Ben would love him

The Steelers now see what drafting well gives them. As some of the old guys move on,if the Steelers stay up on top it is because their depth can play. If those of you who are my age can remember. After the 70's dynasty, all of those guys started to quickly retire. Yes,NOLL's teams made the playoffs alot but as Terry and the rest stepped aside they were never really seen in the same way. The guys who contributed as part of a champion never were able to match the efficiency and the drafts weren't giving them what they needed to be an AFC power. Mike Tomlin and Kevin Colbert have a system place that requires your best with the rookies having to show it by year 2 if it works for them.

Steelers first-round draft pick David DeCastro on being the 24th pick in the NFL Draft. This young man out of Stanford was projected to be a top-15 pick and was considered the best offensive guard prospect in the draft. "You get picked by the Steelers, it definitely overcomes any disappointment," DeCastro said, flanked in the news conference by owner Art Rooney, Coach Mike Tomlin and general manager Kevin Colbert. "I didn't go in with any expectation. I knew in the draft there are a ton of variables. I know lot of stuff can happen, with trades and what not. When the Steelers picked me, I was more than overjoyed."
