One more item off my bucket list tonight. Saw Barbra Streisand in concert and she was fantastic. What a voice. She sang duets with her son Jason Gould and "Happy Days" with her sister. I'd get it just to hear Mike Oldfield playing "Tubular Bells" again. It also had an old tradional sailor's hornpipe song ( that Mike plays on his guitar instead of horn pipe) attached to this version. Mike had recorded the song, & released it on 45, in the late 70's or early 80's as a Christmas song.

I have had the opportunity to be present in today’s quiz hosted by Partha Ghatak at YMCA,Kolkata. The quiz definitely was marked by excellent questions (sorry, I couldn’t make myself fully available till the end of the final round). However, sorry to say that the venue seemed quite improper except its location. There was almost chaos because of scarcity of space and many questions were inaudible owing to the poor sound system. I have listened to ‘Tubular Bells’ of Mike Oldfield at least a hundred times which is a favourite musical piece of mine. But, I couldn’t listen to it properly being in the audience and couldn't therefore identify the same. I was then reminded of the excellent venue of Hooghly Zila Parishad where our quizzes take place.
