Question: What number jersey did Michael Jordan wear with the Chicago Bulls? Answer: There may be no more recognizable number than 23, thanks to Michael Jordan. As a child, Jordan's favorite number was 45, his brother Larry's basketball jersey number. When Michael started playing high school basketball, Larry was already using the No. 45 jersey. Michael chose to halve Larry's number, which rounded up to 23. Jordan continued to wear the number 23 for college and professional basketball. Jordan's jersey number was retired after his first retirement from the Bulls. After returning to the Bulls in 1995, Jordan wore the number 45 jersey for just one season before returning to his original 23 jersey. For one game, Jordan wore On February 14, 1990 on a Valentine’s Day road game against the Orlando Magic, his jersey was stolen before the game and Jordan was forced wear the a practice jersey of teammate Sam Vincent.

The Chicago Bulls are a professional basketball team based in Chicago, Illinois, playing in the Central Division of the Eastern Conference in the National Basketball Association (NBA). The team was founded in 1966. They play their home games at the United Center. The team is well known for having one of the greatest dynasties in NBA and sports history during the 1990s, winning six championships in eight years with two three-peats. All six of those championship teams were led by Michael Jordan, Scottie Pippen, and coach Phil Jackson.
Granted, I'm from Ohio. Moreover, don't worry about the fact that I can name more Radio Disney stars than NBA players. That's not the point. Here is the point: Lebron James will never be as great as Michael Jordan. MJ didn't win a championship till his 7th year with the Chicago Bulls but he stayed and believed. LBJ's move to opt out of his contract is simply another example in the unbelievable entitlement mentality of this generation. As they said in Boiler Room, "nobody wants to work for it anymore." Greatness is built upon a solid foundation. Jumping from team to team simply to rack up titles isn't greatness - it's opportunism. Oh, and just to close it out... Hilary Duff. Raven-Symone. Miley Cyrus. The Jonas Brothers. Demi Lovato. And... Lebron James. Chris Bosh. Dwyane Wade. Kobe Bryant. Carmelo Anthony. Blake Griffin. OK, OK. I can name more NBA players. But still.

Don't let anyone ever call you King again. It might get to your head. Oh wait, I forgot, it already has! That's why there's so many haters like me out there. It's so hard to get a three-peat. Because on the road you have to trust your teammates to get the job done when you and other key players are in all sorts of trouble. ~~Lebron James’ current numbers saddle him up alongside Wilt Chamberlain (four MVPs, two rings), the game's greatest individual force ever who was forever overshadowed in the clutch by Bill Russell and the superiority of team play. And that's why we call the NBA Finals MVP trophy as The Bill Russel Finals MVP trophy.~~
I grew up in an era when Michael Jordan used to reign, when he was considered the best basketball player on the planet. When the name Jordan comes up in any conversation about basketball and NBA. I’ve seen him and his teams play and lord it over their contemporaries, at least for the most part of it.   During my high school and college days, I went gaga with every shots he made, records he broke, games and championships they've won. At times, I had to skip lunch and ran over to the closest convenience shop in Intramuros just to watch the championship games being aired live. I was an archetypical Chicago Bulls fan of 90's.   However, I find myself different from others who are so steadfast in branding him the best there was and the best there will ever be.   Because, you know, nobody knows what the future has to offer.   Fast forward to now, a lot of discussions and comparisons are being centered around Jordan and the player who many considers (and many objects) as his heir apparent.   Lebron James. ...
TODAYS MV4 GAME SUMMARY! THE FACT: The Miami Heat now have won 13 straight times in games following a loss in the NBA playoffs. The last team to come close to such a streak was the Michael Jordan-era Chicago Bulls, who pulled the trick 12 straight times from May 1990 to June 1992. THE LEAD: Lebron James overcame muscle cramping from Game 1 and a slow start in Game 2 to post 35 points and 10 rebounds on Sunday as the Heat rebounded from their NBA Finals-opening loss to win this one 98-96 over the San Antonio Spurs at the AT&T Center. The split series, as it was after two games last year, heads to Miami for two games on Tuesday and Thursday before a return to the AT&T Center (where the air-conditioning was not an issue after the Game 1 failure). James, who played 36 minutes, scored two points in the first quarter then shot 13-for-18 the rest of the way (including all three of his 3-point tries). He was fits for Kawhi Leonard -- or any other Spurs player -- to guard. Leonard fouled out and was limited to nin ...
Remember that NBA championship game? Where the Chicago Bulls were getting beat pretty badly and Michael Jordan got cramps in the 4th Quarter and couldn't continue??? And his team went on playing trying to rally a comeback while he sat there and watched? Oh yeah. that NEVER happened!
Chicago Bulls rosters for their first 3 Championships all included Michael Jordan , Scottie Pippen , Horace Grant , Bill Cartwright , Paxson , BJ Armstrong , an Will Perdue all of which were Great Players that 90-91 , 91-92 , and 92-93 Miami Heat first three soon to be championship rosters 11-12 , 12-13 , 13-14 are very comparable with Lebron James , Dwayne Wade , Chris Bosh , Haslem , Mario Chalmers , Shane Battier , Being on all three and Chris Anderson and RayRay Allen on last year and this year. Along with help from Lewis and Cole now look at both of those and tell me they are not similar in talent? COME ON LETS DEBATE!!! Not arguing , debating. *
Not sure why the Miami "cHeat" are being compared to the early 90s Chicago Bulls. The cHeat aren't even "in the same region," as far as being an all-time great team. Seriously!! Nor do I know why Lebroneuski's being compared to Michael Jordan.not even close, and I'm not even a "Jordannaire!!" Lawd Ham'Mercy!!!

Not sure Pacers HC Frank Vogel should call the Heat the "Michael Jordan's Chicago Bulls of our generation". Even if it's true, it makes excuses.
"It's bitterly disappointing to fall short of our goals, and it's bitterly disappointing to lose to this team three years in a row," Vogel said. "But we're competing against the Michael Jordan of our era, the Chicago Bulls of our era, and you have to tip your hats to them." You don't say, and here I was thinking it was someone else, better yet wanting it to be someone else. "We're in the Lebron James era," said Pacers forward David West. "I've thought about it, that maybe we're a little unlucky. You just have that perspective." If he gets this title here and is finals' MVP, that Kobe was a better player than Bron talk becomes almost a whisper. Please don't tell me about no 5 rings, because I have yet to hear someone say Russell is better than M.J., because they know better. I thought the pacers were weak, for the most part, everybody but lance and West, how you gone make statements like he should not tug on superman's cape, or don't talk trash to lebron. I have consistently said all season the spurs are . ...

Frank Vogel: The Michael Jordan of this Era, the Chicago Bulls of this Era Salute!
On 92.9 The Game (sports talk radio), I heard a very compelling point which suggested that people give Michael Jordan too much credit and Scottie Pippen not enough credit for the Chicago Bulls success. The point was made that the Bulls beat superstar players such as Charles Barkley, Clyde Drexler, and Patrick Ewing but none of these players played with anyone of or close to Pippen's caliber.
Michael Jordan lists several players from different eras that he would have liked to have faced in his prime, the 1990s when he led the Chicago Bulls to six NBA crowns: Dwyane Wade, Carmelo Anthony, Julius Erving, Elgin Baylor, Jerry West, Kobe and LeBron. “I don’t think I would lose,” Jordan said. “Other than to Kobe Bryant because he steals all of my moves.”

2× NBA champion (1991–1992) 3× NBA Three-Point Shootout champion (1990–1992) As Assistant: POLITICAL ACTIVISM When the Chicago Bulls visited the White House after winning the 1992 NBA Championship, Hodges dressed in a dashiki and delivered a hand-written letter addressed to then President George H. W. Bush, expressing his discontent at the administration's treatment of the poor and minorities.[16] Hodges also criticized his Bulls teammate Michael Jordan for not using his fame to draw attention to social and political issues, and said Jordan was "bailing out" for not being politically outspoken.[17] In 1996, Hodges filed a $40 million lawsuit against the NBA and its then 29 teams, claiming they blackballed him for his association with Louis Farrakhan and criticism of "African-American professional athletes who failed to use their considerable wealth and influence to assist the poor and disenfranchised."[13] After he was waived by the Bulls in 1992, he did not receive an offer or a tryout from a singl ...

On another note... I'm watching the Chicago Bulls documentary about their 72-10 season and every time I watch something like this (especially with Michael Jordan) I'm always reminded of why it's important to strive for greatness even in the face of adversity. I grew up wanting to play basketball and eventually moved on to music and I combined the essence of the two...to be a musical champion. I may not have awards or anything physical besides albums to show for it but you better believe that with every song we write I'm looking to push my own envelope and strive to become better than I was the time before. Never stop learning.
What is the Last Dance ?? Last Dance - a term , final act , a final performance , finale , last try. In 1999 - The Chicago Bulls did their " Last Dance ". After being champions for almost 5 times in the 90's , they finally decide to part ways. Michael Jordan , Scottie Pippen , Dennis Rodman , Luc Longley , Toni Kukoc and the coach Phil Jackson. It was the last time they will be together as a team. It was dubbed " The Last Dance " of Chicago Bulls. Hence ' The Last Dance ' is a His Life Production of Dancers who will probably be together to perform for the first and last time - should Our God come anytime soon. A last performance to share who God is what is His Plans for us - and what shall we do before everything here ENDS. The Last Dance - will be on April 19 , 6pm at Garden Royale, Goldenfields. Tickets available at any His Life Site.
Today's Sports:L In 1995, NBA superstar Michael Jordan scored 19 points against the Indiana Pacers in his first game back with the Chicago Bulls after almost two years of retirement. Today in 1995, Michael Jordan comes out of retirement from the NBA and plays the Indiana Pacers in Indianapolis. He wore jersey number 45 because his number 23 was retired by the Chicago Bulls. The game paved the way for another "3-peat" by the Bulls.
March 19, 1995 -- One day after announcing "I'm back," and after 21 months of mini-retirement, Michael Jordan suits up for the Chicago Bulls at Market Square Arena in Indianapolis. The struggling Bulls are just 34-31 after a 3-game win streak, but suffer a 103-96 overtime loss to the Indiana Pacers in Jordan's return. The former 3-time NBA champion shoots 7-for-28 and scores 19 points to go with six rebounds and six assists. Over the final 17 games of the season, he will average 26.9 points per game, but the Bulls manage only a 3rd-place finish in the Central Division, and will lose in six games to the Orlando Magic in the Eastern Conference semi-finals.

Michael Jordan Confident Phil Jackson Will Succeed in New York According to Michael Jordan, his old Chicago Bulls Head Coach Phil Jackson will thrive as president of the New York Knicks. MJ says Jackson will learn on the job, and do so quickly. Per ESPN: “Phil can do some good things with them because he’s gifted,” Jordan said on Monday. “Phil is fantastic at managing egos and personalities, getting everyone on the same page and maxing out whatever potential is there for what should be the common and ultimate goal. “Just because he’s never been an executive before doesn’t mean he can’t do that. He’s wanted to do it for a while now, and I know he can do it … so long as he has the necessary pieces in place.” Jordan, the chairman of the Charlotte Bobcats, said Jackson will learn the landscape of the NBA as an executive quickly. And Jordan, who won six championships with Jackson, is glad to help his old coach short of doing him any favors in a trade with the Bobcats. “Phil is great,” ...
Today’s countdown count is brought to you by “His Airness”, Michael Jordan. All of you who remember Michael Jordan but who aren’t stats and numbers geeks are having synapse difficulty right now, you clearly know the name but something isn’t right about the number in the intro to today. Michael Jordan and 12 – wait, you’ve got it now, His Airness wore number 23 for his whole career! Actually he didn’t. On April 14 1990, the Chicago Bulls were visiting the Orlando Magic. A couple of hours before the game, someone snuck into the visitors’ locker room and stole Jordan’s jersey. When they realized the jersey was gone, they locked down the arena and searched every employee in the place to no avail. The team’s equipment manager found a kid in the arena wearing a Jordan replica jersey (note here, if you’re older than 15 and not actually one the team – put the jerseys away, you look like a doofus) . Jordan tried the kid’s jersey but it was too small. In desperation, the manager re ...

Top 5 Teams in NBA History 01. 1995-1996 Chicago Bulls, 72-10 What is there to say about this team? Started off 10-2, had a streak of 13 straight before dropping one to Indiana, then went on a streak of 18 straight. Their 72 wins is still an NBA record and one that is looking untouchable. They won their division by 20 games and outscored their opponents by 15 points a game. Michael Jordan led the league in scoring at 30 a game. Went 11-1 against the East in the playoffs before beating Seattle in the Finals in 6 games. 02. 1971 - 1972 Los Angeles Lakers, 69-13 33 in a row. Teams have won 20+ straight, but this still remains a record. Gail Goodrich, Jerry West, Wilt Chamberlain, made this team tough to beat. Gail Goodrich and Jerry West both averaged nearly 26 a game while Wilt was averaging just over 19 rebounds a game. They would go on to win the NBA Finals in 5 games. This was a tough decision for me, but I don't think anyone would deny that this team was one of the two best in NBA history. 03. 1996-1997 ...

Today is the birthday of Michael Jordan, Hal Holbrook, Leroy Daniels, Paris Hilton, Larry The Cable Guy, Mary Ann Mobley, Tommy Edwards, and Jim Brown. Michael is 51 today. He played guard for the Chicago Bulls (1984-1993, 1995-1998) and Washington Wizards (2001-2003). He helped the Bulls win 6 NBA Championships (1991, 1992, 1993, 1996, 1997, 1998). He was also MVP of those championships. Michael also helped the North Carolina Tar Heels win the 1982 National Championship. He is a member of the Basketball Hall Of Fame. Hal is 89 today. Bob Love is no stranger to adversity. An NBA All-Star, the Chicago Bulls retired his shirt upon his retirement. Only three others share such an honour: Jerry Sloan (4), Michael Jordan (23) and Scottie Pippen (33). Despite being recognised as a Chicago Bulls superstar, Love endured great hardship when his playing days were over. Suffering from a severe stuttering problem throughout his career (he would ask teammates to convey messages during team huddles) Love was unable to find meaningful employment upon it's conclusion - at one point he was a busboy making $4.45 an hour. Eventually, the owner of the restaurant where Love washed dishes offered to pay for speech therapy classes. Love is now the director of community relations at the Bulls and a much sought after motivational speaker. He sends his best wishes to Jack.
Today, New York Yankee shortstop Derek Jeter announced that the 2014 season will be his last. Upon hearing this news today, I was hit with an unexpected wave of emotion as a ton of memories came flooding back to me. My connection to Derek Jeter and the Yankees actually started out as a goof. It was early 1996 and Michael Jordan had returned for a full season to the Chicago Bulls and were about to set an NBA record for wins, going 72-10. Wanting to go out and watch every single Bulls game for the rest of the season and playoffs, I made a pact with my girlfriend Tina Bertoli (who was from New York) that if she agreed to become a Bulls fan during basketball season, I would agree to become a Yankees fan during baseball. Truth be told, this was an easy deal to make considering that the Bulls were about to go on another 3 year run of dominance and championships; and the Cubs and Sox had never given me much of a reason to watch. So I didn’t really care what I watched during baseball season.    That was also ...

Many remember Michael Jordan as arguably the greatest basketball player of all time, bringing the Chicago Bulls six NBA titles...
IS THAT ALL THERE IS? Serious fans of basketball will remember October 6, 1993 as a significant date in the sport's history. On that day, Chicago Bulls superstar Michael Jordan faced the assembled crowd of media with their microphones and notepads, and told them the game offered no more challenges to motivate him. He was ready to retire. Although Jordan would come back two years later, he was clearly disenchanted with the game that had been his life, although he was at the top, and the money he was making was phenomenal. Why would a man with everything under the sun walk away? Jordan, whose father was murdered earlier in the year, hinted at the answer as he told reporters, "One thing about my father's death was that it reinforced how [life] can be taken from you at any time." Basketball-and the fame, money and excitement it brought-was no longer compelling enough to get the superstar up in the morning. As he looked at the prospect of another long season, in his heart he must have said, "Been there. Done t ...
really hope the Chicago Bulls beat the Boston Red Sox, the anticipation of Michael Jordan vs Babe Ruth.
Did you see the young tall guy for Syracuse tonight getting all the rebounds & dunks for the Syracuse Orangemen. That was Jeremi Grant, son of ex-Clemson player Harvey Grant. The two Grant brothers both Horace & Harvey both played @ Clemson in the 90's & both players later went on & played many years in the NBA. In fact Horace played with Michael Jordan & the Chicago Bulls on those NBA Championship teams & got all those Championship Rings. Jeremi Grant was highly recruited & choose to play @ Syracuse & his brother, Jerian also a very good basketball player currently plays @ Notre Dame & has started 33 of 34 games the last two years for the Irish. I don't know too much about the Jerian kid but this Jeremi Grant is a beast rules in the paint. Those two Grant guys need to be on our basketball team. I don't know what the problem is...something not right here. .
A discussion of the hype surrounding Michael Jordan that led the NBA to incorrectly promote the 1995-96 Chicago Bulls as the greatest team in NBA history.

Six Chicago Bulls Championship rings, all exact Ring crafted by Jostens, are part of a display produced by Jordan Brand, a division of Nike, Inc., for a year-long run at The Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in Springfield, Massachusetts. The display entitled, “Become Legendary: The story of Michael Jordan,” recognizes a significant chapter in NBA history. The Bulls won the NBA Championships in 1991, 1992, 1993, 1996, 1997, and 1998.
This is a must-read for coaches. It has been written by Derek Hansen who is a renounced strength & conditioning coach in Canada. He has a background in the sprints and has worked with some of the truly great coaches including the late Charlie Francis and Al Vermeil, the only strength coach to win a championship ring for both the NFL (San Francisco 49ers in 1982) and NBA (Chicago Bulls during the Michael Jordan era)... So Derek is experienced, intelligent and also a top bloke. Read on ... Five Reasons Why the Role of the Pro Sports Strength Coach is Changing January 15, 2014 by Derek Leave a Comment - Derek M. Hansen - Over the last five years, I have noticed some gradual changes in the role of the strength and conditioning coach at the professional sports level. Some of my thoughts are based on casual observations, but also frank discussions with coaches who are currently working in the professional ranks, or coaches that have moved on from the pros to other levels of sport – mostly college jobs. But on ...
Michael Jordan hit 25 game winning shots. At least one of those won the NBA title for the Chicago Bulls. I never once heard him start off the interview with I am the best basketball player here, that's what you get when you put a sorry *** player like Karl Malone on me. Stop talkin bout me. Just saying.

Something to think about: The reasons I sense that this Miami Heat vs Chicago Bulls rivalry is a little ridiculous are as follows: 1. Dwayne Wade hates playing against the Chicago Bulls, especially with him being from Chicago, Illinois. 2. Think about how many Die-Hard Chicago Bulls Fans are on the Miami Heat roster. 3. The Bulls did not have the talent level that the Miami Heat had, however they balled their way to Title Contenders which included sweeping the Defending Champion Heat in the 1st Round of the 2007 Playoffs, and MVP Derrick Rose helping the Bulls to the East Finals in 2011. 4. Both the Bulls and Heat franchises have experienced Playoff Upsets in the 1st Round as seeds losing to seeds. 5. The LAST TIME the Bulls and Heat were considered legitimate rivals in the NBA, you saw Michael Jordan torch Steve Smith and Glen Rice for 56 points, Tim Hardaway return to his HOME TOWN to battle Steve Kerr :/ , and Alonzo Mourning become frustrated with Dennis Rodman's antics (let us not forget James Posey ...
My boys and I became Chicago Bulls fans during the magical Michael Jordan years. Scottie Pippen, Steve Kerr, Toni Kukoc, BJArmstrong, John Paxson, Horace Grant, Dennis Rodman, and their larger than life coach Phil Jackson. Now, many years later, as basketball season gets underway toward a full head of steam, an article in AARP's Bulletin reminds me what I saw, what many saw, in Coach Jackson. "You have to be true to yourself as a leader," he said. "I believe events and forces change the course of our lives. I was brought up in the home of ministers; much of my outlook in life is from a spiritual direction. I knew things of a higher calling could unify groups of men." He found ways to unlock those truths with a simple round ball. We all need to reach deep, work hard, deal with life as a team, and use our own unique gifts to make this a better place. Nice reminder coach. And thanks for your words, your lessons, and those glorious years!!
Just wanted to share this. I wrote this about Derrick Rose last season when I did my top 10 rankings at every position. I narrowly gave D-Rose the edge over Tony Parker because A) I'm a homer and B) When Rose is healthy, he's just amazing to watch on the court. No one compares to him in the NBA. Not Parker, not CP3, definitely not Kyrie...he's truly unique. Really hoping he stays healthy the rest of his career and regains his form: I'm a Chicago Bulls homer and I've talked at length about how great this guy is. He's an amazing basketball player and the only point guard on this list with an NBA MVP Award. I don't feel entirely comfortable saying he's the 2nd or 3rd best point guard in the league. He's amazing. He led the team to the Eastern Conference Finals in 2011 and would've likely done the same last season if not for his ACL. He's captivated the Bulls fanbase like nobody has except for Michael Jordan. He's humble, he's a winner, and he is everything you would want in a point guard. He scores, h ...

Mike Love dedicated his career to being a jerk By Jeremiah Tucker Globe Columnist JOPLIN, Mo. — Over a 50-year career, Mike Love of the Beach Boys has built a strong case for being rock ‘n’ roll’s biggest jerk. He appeared to cement that reputation recently when the news broke that he was effectively kicking the founding members, including Brian Wilson, out of the band. Love, of course, denied this, saying the popular reunion tour that began earlier this year simply can’t continue because it would conflict with previously scheduled dates for his version of the Beach Boys that has toured county fairs and casinos in the nation’s finer tertiary markets for years. This is the latest in a staggeringly long list of Love’s offenses. Here are some of Love’s worst. Firing Brian Wilson. For the record, let’s establish that Mike Love firing Brian Wilson is like Flavor Flav asking Chuck D to leave Public Enemy or Luc Longley kicking Michael Jordan off the 1995 Chicago Bulls or Jar Jar Binks replacin ...

Michael Jordan's shoes from the famous flu game of the 1997 NBA finals have sold for $104,000. The shoes were owned by a Utah Jazz ball boy who befriended Jordan when the Chicago Bulls visited Salt Lake City. What do you think? Are the shoes worth $104K?
And sometimes the difference betwen two equally talented teams is leadership, leadership is all about understanding players, bringing them together, and getting them to work together as a team to reach their potential---The LA lakers of the late 1990s are a notable example, they struggled despite having a very talented group of players including Kobe Bryant(who many hope would be the next Michael Jordan, and Shaquele 0'Neal(the best center then)both players acquired in 1996 but had major problems and never clicked as a team, then the next year the team bought in Phil Jackson, the man who led the Chicago Bulls to six championships to coach the Lakers,he kept the same team,in only one season ,the team came together,in 2000 the LA Lakers won NBA championship that everyone had believe they had potential to win, they did that in the same city working under the same condition and with the same players in previous season, the only thing that changed was leadership, with good leadership everything improves, leaders are lift ...
COMMENTARY | Michael Jordan once said, "Talent wins games, but teamwork and intelligence wins championships." Everything had aligned so perfectly for Derrick Rose, the minuscule odds of the Chicago Bulls winning the draft lottery transforming the son of the city's South Side into a franchise savior. He was the youngest Most Valuable Player in NBA history, on his way to a statue someday near No. 23 on the steps of the United Center. He has come home chasing championships for the Bulls, chasing the ghost of Michael Jordan, and yet slowly, surely Rose is beginning to resemble a different Chicago sporting icon: Gale Sayers. Rose could turn out to be the superstar whose name leaves everyone nodding and wondering: What could've been? An immortal career could turn into something simply very good – or something far worse. For Rose, it's another knee injury, another surgery, perhaps another lost season. After an arduous year and a half to return from an ACL tear in his left knee, Rose couldn't make it a month into the regular season. View gallery . Derrick Rose is averaging 15.9 points and 4.3 assists in 11 games this s ...
John Carmack leaving id is like Michael Jordan leaving the Chicago Bulls. An end to an era and the start of a new one.
A Presidential Medal of Freedom Award goes to Dean Smith, Head Coach of the University of North Carolina basketball team from 1961 to 1997. Smith helped establish modern college basketball as something more than a bunch of frat boys on the road. He also helped develop Michael Jordan, formerly of the Chicago Bulls, and arguably the best player in history. Not just an All-American, Jordan probably could be chosen for starting spot on an All-Universe team. (
Shelley Murray Razy is a big number, but here goes: 1. I was born in Boise, Idaho 2. Love to travel and see new things. 3. Saw Wilt Chamberlain in the airport 4. While in Park City Utah, I saw the Chicago Bulls load their bus and that included Michael Jordan. 5. I worked for the Chamber of Commerce in Colorado 6. I was an Avon lady 7. People use to tell me I should be a hand model 8. People tell me how much they like my voice when I do announcements at school. 9. I never drank a full bottle of beer until I was in my 40's. 10. I've sang karaoke in a bar. 11. Never would have imagined how much I love being a mom.

NBA LeBron would only be 'average' in 90s says Rodman. Hall of Famer Dennis Rodman said on the Dan Patrick Show Friday that Lebron James would only be "average" if he played during his era. Rodman, who helped the Detroit Pistons win two NBA championships in the late 1980s, won three more titles with the Michael Jordan-led Chicago Bulls in the 1990s. "It's really not a comparison. If LeBron was playing in the late '80s and early '90s he would be just an average player," Rodman said. "To do what Michael has done ... what he did was more charisma, there was more articulating and stuff like that. LeBron is more like ... there's no flash to his game. He's a great player, don't get me wrong, he's a *** of player, I'll give him that. But to me Scottie [Pippen] and Michael are probably the two best 1-2 punches I've ever seen." Rodman also said Jordan would average at least 40 points per game in the current NBA. "I'm just sick and tired of people comparing [James] to Michael Jordan," Rodman said. "It's a whole di ...

WHY Lebron James WILL EVENTUALLY SURPASS MICHAEL JORDAN AS THE GREATEST OF ALL TIME "Although there will be resistance, Lebron James will ultimately be seen as the greatest basketball player of all time, surpassing Michael Jordan. And it shouldn’t really be close. It seems like an appropriate time to examine the comparison as James, 28 and finishing his 10th NBA season, is essentially halfway through his career barring injury. Worth noting is that it’s also a career that won’t be interrupted twice by retirements, one for an ill-conceived attempt at baseball. Jordan, who came into the league the same year that James was born, didn’t win his first NBA title with the Chicago Bulls until his seventh year in 1991. That became the first of two three-peats of course, the next being from 1996-98. James won his first in his ninth season in 2012 and made it two straight Thursday, earning his second consecutive Finals MVP. It certainly doesn’t seem out of the question that King James can garner six crowns ...
Lebron James' struggles in Game 3 of the NBA Finals were another reminder of why no player should be compared to Michael Jordan. When Phil Jackson took over as Head Coach of the Chicago Bulls in 1989, he inherited a struggling team with one of the best players in the world: Michael Jordan.
My Top 5 Top NBA FINALS OF ALL TIME Detriot Pistons vs. Los Angeles Lakers pure drama still to this day the most physical NBA Finals I've ever watched in my life and in my opinion games 6 & 7 are still the two best finals games in my lifetime. Chicago Bulls vs. Phoenix Suns out of all of Michael Jordan trips to the NBA Finals the 93 finals was the most draining physical series out of all MJ'S 6 trips in addition Jordan Barkley gave us dual after dual after duel to me it was the most entertaining out of Jordans all 6 trips to the finals and I've always wondered if John Paxson does not have that 3 in game 6 could Phoenix win game 7??? Boston Celtics vs. Los Angeles Lakers Game 1 started with The Memorial Day massacre and doubt crept into the Lakers head again after heartbreak in 1984 But In Game 2 The Captain hello this is most memorable performances in the finals and thus the Lakers finally broke through and beat the Celtics in The Finals 1994 New York Knicks vs. Houston Rockets I put this message on here ...
Jordan led Chicago to the play-offs in his first year vs. a formidable East. LeBron couldn't carry Cleveland to the play-offs in a crappy East his first 2 years.Michael wasn't stopped on big games in fact he was always the difference maker on the Bulls championship run, LeBron was almost a non factor vs. Dallas managing 8 points in the all important 4th game of the 2011 finals. Proof? NBA Finals Most Valuable Player awards: Michael Jordan: 6 in 6 tries, Lebron James: 1 in 3 triesSeasons over 100 blocks: Jordan: 2; LeBron: 0 Seasons over 200 steals: Jordan: 6; LeBron: 0 Lebron James fans can argue Jordan is a guard and thus more steals but what about the blocks? In fact Dwyane Wade recorded a 100 blocks season James never have. This season Bosh recorded 100 blocks.Michael averaged 35 points per game when he won Defensive Player of the year. The next closest scorer to win it had 27 ppg. Guards rarely receive Defensive Player of the Year. Think about the level of energy it takes to lead the league in scoring ...
Notice all the hate on the heat. That is the reason why Michael Jordan and his Chicago Bulls WILL ALWAYS BE BETTER than the Miami Heat... Bulls' haters still were amazed at the character of the Bulls' players and organization. Who is impressed that after 10 years and a 2nd "dream team" Lebron finally has his 2nd ring? Not I. Who is still a fan of Michael Jordan and what the Bulls accomplished in the 90's? Every single basketball fan alive. Period.

Fifteen Years Ago today (June 14, 1998), Michael Jordan hit the game-winning shot against the Utah Jazz to win the Chicago Bulls sixth NBA championship in franchise history!
TRIVIA:Let us remember that on this day "June 15,1998" Michael Jordan bucks in his LEGENDARY Shot against the Utah Jazz which leads the Bulls to the WIN.This was also his final shot in his career in Chicago Bulls.
On this day in Chicago Bulls history 15 Years Ago (June 14th, 1998), Michael Jordan hits his last shot as a Bull and lifts Chicago to it's 6TH NBA TITLE IN FRANCHISE HISTORY defeating the Utah Jazz 87-86 in Game 6. As Jordan knocked the ball off Utah's Karl Malone's hands, there was little time to spare as Jordan ran down the court with seconds to spare down by 1 point. Michael creates space from Utah's Bryon Russel and shoots over him taking the lead 87-86. With 5.2 remaining in the game, Utah's John Stockton tries shoots a three but ends up missing leading to the Chicago BullS CHAMPIONSHIP CELEBRATION. "16 seconds left, Bulls down 1. Michael against Russel... 12 seconds. 11. 10... Jordan... Jordan a drive, hangs, firesss... SCORESS!"
Today is the 15th anniversary of "The Shot." What am I talking about? It's the "FOUL NEVER CALLED" when Michael Jordan push off Byron Russell for room & he hit that 19ft jumper which ended up being the game winning shot, his final shot basket, & final game as a member of the Chicago Bulls where they beat Utah Jazz for the second straight year in game 6 in Utah & Jordan was named NBA Finals MVP for the 6th time along with getting his 6th ring as well.
Today In History: In 1777, Congress officially adopts the Stars and Stripes as the US flag; In 1922, President Harding becomes the 1st president to be heard on the radio; In 1951, the US Census Bureau dedicates UNIVAC, the world’s first commercially produced electronic digital computer; In 1998, Michael Jordan leads the Chicago Bulls to their 3rd consecutive NBA title (over the Utah Jazz)
Lebron James will never be like Michael Jordan. 1) Jordan never scored less than 25 points in the finals. In 1993 finals he averaged 45 points. Lebron has YET to score 20 points in this finals. 2) MJ made everyone around him better. I don't feel Lebron does as much. 3) MJ didn't have to switch teams and join forces to win a ring. 4) Jordan could and did score from ANYWHERE, doing it with style. 5) Jordan arguably got better with age. Maybe not on points per game, but overall as a player. 6) Jordan's competitive edge is unparalleled. He even played while having FLU & won the game. Remember that game against Utah Jazz in '97 Finals? Oh, what about his last shot as a Chicago Bull in the '98 Finals? It won the game & the championship for him. 7)As Dennis Rodman said, Lebron would NOT have been even as good as he is now back in Jordan's era simply because of the more aggressive, physical basketball that was played with less fouls, hand checking, etc. Where as Jordan would very likely be even MORE dominant th . ...
Only LeBron can beat LeBron, nobody else and I mean it literally. It's not about the defense of Kawhi Leonard, it has something to do more on LeBron's mindset. I'm a big Heat fan before but I ain't no blind, either. Three straight sub-par performances. Three straight below 40% FG shooting. And three straight less than 20 points contributions are not something to be cheered for even among die hard Miami fans. Michael Jordan's Chicago Bulls got eliminated in the Eastern Finals by Detroit three years in a row but nobody taunted and mocked MJ's performances. He had been scoring 35 pts. or 40 pts. each game even against rugged, dirty, and highly-vaunted Pistons defense. Kobe Bryant sent the Spurs into oblivion in the West Finals almost all by himself, in 2008... scoring 35, 40 points or more. LeBron's old astray playing style has resurfaced once again. Unless he plays angry, imposing, a little bit selfish and an I'm-the-best-of-the world mentality, the Heat cannot win this series.
23 reasons why LeBron will never be greater!! Pay attention to the playoff games played and how many he scored under 20. 1. In his final three seasons with the Chicago Bulls, Michael Jordan helped the Bulls reach a 203-43 regular-season record, which includes the 72-win 1995-96 season, still tops in the NBA. 2. Jordan averaged 37.1 points per games in 40 minutes as a third-year player in 1986-87 season. It was the first of seven consecutive seasons in which Jordan averaged at least 30 points per game. 3. Of his 15 NBA seasons, Jordan played all 82 games nine times, the most impressive of which came in his final season as he turned 40 years old. 4. Jordan has 109 games of 30 points or more, and 38 of 40 or more points. He rarely dipped below 20, posting 926 games of 20 or more. 5. Jordan played with talents such as Scottie Pippen and Toni Kukoc, but he was often top dog. One stat shows that clearly: Jordan was the Bulls’ leading scorer (including ties) 867 times. He played 1,072 career games. 6. If justi ...
I want to share with you my friends who is NBA fans !! I am big Lebron James Fan. I know some of you hate LBJ ! I live in Indianapolis and some of my friends are Pacers fans ! So I asked them why u hate LBJ ?? One reason is he promised one championship for Cavs and it did not happen during his 8 years as contract expired. I understood that one but other told me that Lebron did not shake other team players last year and called him disrespect player. I noticed last night that Hibbert walked out after game without shaking hand with Heat. So it means people will hate him and called him disrespect player. I don t think so ! Several players do this anyway ! They play each other so many games so no big deal ! I admired Michael Jordan as player but sick of them wininng lot of Championships for Chicago Bulls. Hate is not good thing to name players. Like to hear your opinions and discuss our feelings about LBJ and others !!
Look, I've honestly been annoyed with the "new" Lebron James haters for the last 3 years. Unless your team is a Heat rival or you're a Cleveland Cavaliers fan, you really need to get over yourselves. This "he's a villian" crap is extremely lame. Say what you want about "The Decision" special 3 Years Ago on ESPN, but he donated $3 millions dollars to The Boys and Girls Club...villians don't donate millions of US dollars to youth organizations. He's never in legal trouble and is the best basketball player in the world. I am a Chicago Bulls fan and loved Michael Jordan growing up, but at the end of the day, Lebron is the best athlete I've seen in the NBA and will undoubtly be compared to Jordan when his career is done. If you don't like watching "greatness" on television and would rather watch boringness or mediocre sports, go watch college basketball.
Early life Dwyane Wade was born on the South Side of Chicago, Illinois to Dwyane, Sr. and Jolinda Wade. He cites one of his older sisters, Tragil, as the individual most responsible for his childhood upbringing and for steering him in the proper direction.[3] His parents divorced and he lived with his father and stepmother in Robbins, Illinois during his childhood.[4] As a child growing up in the Chicago area Wade idolized former Chicago Bulls star Michael Jordan,[5][6] and has said he patterns his game after him. Wade attended Harold L. Richards High School in Oak Lawn, playing for the school's varsity basketball team.[3] While he did not acquire much playing time during his second year, his stepbrother, Demetris McDaniel, was the star of the team.[7] Wade grew four inches in the summer before his junior year and saw an increase in playing time, averaging 20.7 points and 7.6 rebounds per game.[8] The following year, Wade averaged 27.0 points and 11.0 rebounds per game while leading his team to a 24–5 r ...
The last and only team to have gone to three consecutive NBA Finals, was the Chicago Bulls with the great Michael Jordan. Can the Heat break that record tonight? The last time Miami lost two consecutive games were Jan 8th and Jan 10th of this year. Can June 1st and June 3rd be the same as Jan 8th and 10th for the Heat? As you guys know the pressure is on Miami tonight, even if it's a home game. I think one of the important Heat players will be in foul trouble early because of the pressure. By the way, win or lose, no one can blame Lebron because the guy has been sensational. I still can't stand Miami after my kind words for Lebron though. As I said before, Miami is not a complete team, it's a one man band( Lebron James). Everybody else is on crutches without him on te floor. My call, the Heat season is over tonight because They will be under too much pressure to play well. Go Pacers!! Go Pacers!!!
I hate death...one minute your loved one is there with you and in a moment they're gone...I put down my little silkie terrier Jordan this morning...he was 17 years old and had lived in 4 states, rode shotgun for countless long trips, climbed mountain trails, chased squirrels, and fought off potential intruders...he had a pretty good life for a little dog... I named him after Michael Jordan because he could run fast and jump high and was born on March 23rd, Jordan's Chicago Bulls number... So, now it's just Lucy and me...I don't know how I can go through this again...ever...But, as long as there are little fur kids out there I will probably adopt one...or six...
I don't care what you say about bein a hoosier and wether or not ur a "sports" fan or not. but 2day is and has been in the past a HUGE day for the state of Indiana... I remember bein younger and getting up the Sunday of Memorial Day weekend and watching the 500 and as a Pacers fan watching Reggie Miller, Rik Smits, and the Davis boys battle it out with either the hated New York Knicks and Patrick Ewing ( man didn't resemble the closest thing to a gorilla walking the face of this earth) or the Chicago Bulls and the greatest player to play Michael Jordan. And NO it doesn't pain me to say that... In the Eastern Conference semis or finals on the same day at old Market Square Arena... Man those were the good days!!! Now fast forward to present time you still have the 500... Some say not as mystique as yesteryear but none the less it is the granddaddy of them all STILL and as a Pacers fan we have become relevant AGAIN due to great drafting and roster management by Indiana's own Larry Bird when he ran the show i ...
One thing I'll always regret my entire life: I never went to a Chicago Bulls game back in the day to go see Michael Jordan play in-person.
King James??? The first game was one of the best games of the season. Many almost had strokes and others almost had heart attacks. I admit, the CRY BABY CHEATS, excuse me the Miami HeatS, pulled the rabbit out of the hat, BRAVO!!! Frfr, I'm tired of hearing about the Jordan/James compartment...Every player that's in the NBA at this present time, has said "I want to be like Mike". Michael Jordan, a true legend, now disrespected...BLASPHEMY!!! Call it hating if you want, but James has been in the game to long and his hand is too light(only has one ring) to be compared to a legend or to be called a King...Get your weight up...I don't even think that he has the rights to even be compared to Kobe...maybe Shaq, but not even Kobe.and when Wade made that rookie mistake towards the end of the game, it looked like 15yrs was added on to his life he knew the end was near...i see some trading in the future. If Wade don't get traded, James is going to leave.OAN: You will never hear a singer/song writer compare themselv ...

DO NOT LET FEAR STOP YOU TO SUCCESS, GET OUT OF YOUR COMFORT ZONE AND SPREAD YOUR WINGS. Lagi na lang tayo na ayaw umalis sa kina-uupuan dahil komportable. We do not like to try new things or we are afraid to proceed with our plans because of fear. We do not want to get out of our "comfort zones." Do you know being comfortable is a hindrance to our success? Fear of failure, doubts and worries have prevented us from leaving our comfort zones. Ang sabi ng iba, bakit ko pa susubukan na makipagsapalaran sa negosyo, meron naman akong maayos na trabaho kahit konti ang sweldo? Fear, doubt and worry are obstacles to our success and happiness. Ang pagkakaiba ng successful people sa ibang tao ay ang kanilang willingness to act kahit may fear, doubt at worry. Rich people are willing to act in spite of fear, doubt or worry but poor people let fear stop them. You cannot be successful if you did not try at all. People don't understand what Sneaker's mean to us sneakerheads. We dont waste our time and money just to be "cool". We do it because we love it. We love sneakers. Everyday, someone new joins the sneaker game. One by one, the sneaker game grows. And grows. And grows. Ever since 1985 where it all started. 1984. Michael Jordan. Drafted to the Chicago Bulls. In the same year, Michael signed with Nike to make sneakers. In 1985, the first Air Jordan sneaker was made. The Chicago Bulls 1's. That day, was when the world would change... You know, not only are there sneakerheads in the U.S.A , But this is all over the World. across the globe. People do not understand how much we worship sneakers. We take care of them like our babies because we know if we ruin them, they just wont be the same. Remember when you got your first pair of sneakers? Remember that feeling of the box. The tissue paper. The smell of the shoe? That is the best feeling ever. Calling that sneaker "Yours". I remeber when I got my first pair of j ...

Just read this, found it really helpful... it's by a guy called Ron Hutchcraft, who sends me (Simon) emails every now and then. More articles by him are available on his website, Ron Hutchcraft Ministries... WHO SCORES THE POINTS...? If you're not an avid basketball fan, you may have never heard of Stacey King. He was a rookie player with the Chicago Bulls. I think you've probably heard of Michael Jordan, one of the all-time great superstars of professional basketball. One season, Michael Jordan broke a single game scoring record, and Stacey King, the rookie, had a great quote after that game. He said, "I'll always remember this as the night that Michael Jordan and I combined to score 70 points in one game." Actually, Michael Jordan scored 69 points; Stacey King scored one. I know the feeling! I'm Ron Hutchcraft and I want to have A Word With You today about "Who Scores the Points?" Now, our word for today from the Word of God is out of the life of King Uzziah in the Old Testament; actually one of the gre ...

Former Sex Instructor Files Paternity Suit Against Michael Jordan Last week we reported that NBA legend Michael Jordan had been hit with a paternity suit in the case of a 16-year-old boy from Atlanta. Well, it looks like more has come out about the woman claiming MJ is the father of her son… Via GossipExtre reports: The woman who says she had NBA great Michael Jordan‘s love child and is suing him for child support also bills herself as a sex expert who teaches couples to put some zing in their tired romantic lives. Not what Jordan, who’s moving into his giant new house in Jupiter, expected on his 50th birthday — and just weeks from his wedding to Miami model Yvette Prieto. The Chicago Bulls legend is being sued in Atlanta by a woman named Pamela Smith, according to Fulton County court records. Smith wants a paternity test to prove that her teenage son is Jordan’s, and she wants child support and permission to change the boy’s last name to Jordan. Gossip Extra, meanwhile, has learned that Smith ...

Sports info of the Day: In the 1984 draft class Michael Jordan was not the 1st overall pick. It was Hakeem "The Dream" Olajuwon chosen by the Houston Rockets. Sam Bowie was the 2nd pick chosen by the Portland Trailblazers. Michael Jordan was actually the 3rd pick by the Chicago Bulls. Notable Picks: Charles Barkley was 5th pick by the Sixers, John Stockton was 16th by the Utah Jazz. Mavericks Coach Rick Carlisle was the 70th pick by the Boston Celtics. Brazilian Oscar Schmidt was 131st by the NJ/Brooklyn Nets and he never joined the NBA but played elsewhere to finish his career with 49,703 points. That's more than NBA leader Kareem Abdul-Jabbar who finish with 38,387pts. Carl Lewis was 208th pick by the Bulls but instead of playing he continued with his track and field dream. He went on to win nine Olympic Gold medals and eight World Championships Gold Medals. This is why this is one of the best draft class ever. It produced four NBA hall of famers in Jordan, Olajuwon, Stockton, and Barkley. Rick Carlisle ...
HOUSTON—In a small gathering of acquaintances, former Chicago Bulls guard Michael Jordan reportedly celebrated his 50th birthday Sunday with the last five people on the planet whom the six-time NBA champion hasn’t totally alienated yet.
Balanced scoring leads Bulls past Bobcats 105-75 Taj Gibson said the Chicago Bulls need to get back to last season's philosophy of putting tough losses behind them and not dropping back-to-back games. They did just that on Friday night. Gibson scored 17 points on 8-of-11 shooting to lead a balanced scoring attack as the Bulls beat Michael Jordan's Charlotte Bobcats 105-75. The win came after a disappointing 19-point loss at home to the Miami Heat on Thursday night. ''We liked the way were able to bounce back after a bad loss,'' Gibson said. ''Last year we wouldn't allow ourselves to lose two straight games. We need that same mindset.'' Now the tough part will be stringing two wins together. The Bulls travel to Oklahoma City to play the Thunder on Sunday night in a game that figures to be a good measuring stick for the Chicago, which was has lost five of its last eight. This one was over early. With Jordan looking on from the end of the Charlotte bench, the Bulls jumped out to a 38-19 lead midway through t ...

Michael Jordan's 50 most memorable points from
The 1990s Chicago Bulls won six NBA Championships while they were being led by Michael Jordan. Many try to diminish this great accomplishment because they believe the 1990's era was weak and that the Bulls were stacked. They think Jordan had it easier. The Bulls were a great team and Jordan had a great supporting cast. No one can deny that: He didn’t win by himself. But how great were the Bulls? Did Jordan ever face true competition? Let’s answer these questions. The First “Three-Peat” (1991-1993) The Bulls starting center was Bill Cartwright. During these three seasons Cartwright averaged 7.9 PPG, 5.1 RPG and 0.2 BPG. In the playoffs he wasn’t any better with averages of 7.0 PPG, 4.5 RPG and 0.2 BPG. The starting power forward was Horace Grant. He was a 6'10" player, but he wasn’t a dominant big man. He wasn’t even an All-Star during this time, nor was he a player that could dominate the post, but he was a good rebounder. Scottie Pippen, the small forward, was in his prime during ...
In China, Michael Jordan is only 21 and still playing for the Chicago Bulls.
Watching the top ten plays of the legend Michael Jordan and Happy 50th Birthday thank u for all the amazing and bad *** moments and plays u did on urbasketball career, because of MJ I got into liking basketball and have a Chicago Bull hat as in honor of MJ and have a pair a sneaker that I never wear just in memory and respect for the legend Michael Jordan. Happy 50th birthday Michael Jordan, greatest basketball player ever in my opinion...changed my childhood...miss flipping through the tv guide trying to see if the bulls were on tv...favorite memory was his last shot as a bull over a falling down Byron Russell sealing his 6th championship and holding his arm up after the shot went through the cylinder all net like he knew it was his last shot at least as a Chicago Bull...most inspiring person in my life outside of my family and closest friends
Michael Jordan turned 50 today, and while His Airness has been out of the game for a while, we're still looking for his replacement among the NBA's stars past and present. Jordan won six titles despite a one-year hiatus from baseball during his prime years.
To be fair,Michael Jordan has been involved with charities, including UNCF/College Fund and Special Olympics. He also hosts his Charity Golf Tourney In 1994 Jordan founded the James R. Jordan Boys and Girls Club, named after his dad. The Center, in Chicago, opened to the public after receiving a $5 million donation from the Chicago Bulls and a $ 2 million personal donation from Jordan. Jordan also gave 5 million dollars to save Hales Franciscian High School. The Chicago high school is one of just three in the U.S. built for African American males. But like the great Jim Brown said "There is a difference between charity and change" Jim Brown one of the greatest football players of all time is also a gang prevention leader in Chicago and civil rights leader. He is active in his community and outspoken while we dont see Jordan do anything. I didnt know Jordan gave back at all until I did my research. Jordan also hasnt spoken out against people being murdered over his sneakers. Ppl have been dying over Jordan ...
Happy birthday to Michael Jordan!! Hearing that opening music and seeing the Chicago Bull still gets me hyped up to this day! No one will ever be like Mike!
Happy 50th birthday to the man who revolutionized basketball and made Nike a juggernaut. An All-American, 6 time world champion, a 14 time All star, a 10 time scoring champion, a 5 time MVP, a 2 time Olympic Gold medalist, rookie of the year, and an NCAA champion just to list a few stats. Happy Birthday to the greatest Chicago Bull and arguably Washington Wizard, to EVER play the game. The original Michael Jordan.
Watching the tribute to Michael Jordan. You would have to be sick to think that LeBron will ever be greater than Mike. The level of competition when Mike played was much more intense and tougher. LeBron is playing in an era of some flat out injury prone, no skilled or defense playing bums.K.I.N.G
Some of best known celebrities can be seen these days wearing them from the sports world and from entertainment to politicians and even famous dads. We have all seen MJ, Michael Jordan before he retired from pro basketball and the Chicago Bulls wearing one. Even in his 'Hanes' commercial he is still seen wearing the accessory. The recent airinig of the BET Music Awards Show displayed a grieving Joe Jackson, father of the late Michael Jackson wearing an earring. ( Politically speaking in Detroit politics, the former mayor of Detroit, Kwame Kilpatrick, wore an earring in office. "Cultural icon Russell Simmons crowned him the nation's first "hip-hop mayor" and Kilpatrick, now 37, did not try to avoid a life of excess. His first inauguration was marked with "club crawls" (he said they were intended to galvanize Detroit's disaffected youth); he wore a diamond-studded earring and flashy suits;" according to the Time Magazine article entitled: "Can Kwame Kilpatrick Grow Up? By Steven Gray/Detroit." ( In ancien . ...
NBA TV is releasing through TNT 3 specials on basketball "greats". Bill Russel from the Boston Celtics, Michael Jordan from the Chicago Bulls and Charles Barkley from the Phoenix Suns??? *** The Round Mound of Rebound never won a NBA Championship, never won the MVP Award. He led the league in rebounding and was an All Star. I guess Magic Johnson, Larry Bird and Kareem Abdul Jabbar were busy, lol. Just a coincidence that Charles is an analyst for TNT basketball coverage.
Today is Michael Jordan's 50th birthday. I am honored to have been able to watch him play as a Chicago Bull. He is the greatest basketball player to have ever lived that's including Lebron, Kobe, Dwayne and my favorite Larry Bird.
Dinner reservations at Michael Jordan's Steakhouse tonight. It's also Michael Jordan's 50th birthday. MJ likes to gamble. Did I mention his restaurant is at Mohegan? Is a sighting too much to ask?
Happy New Week to all and Happy 50th Birthday to Chicago Bull and Nike Footwear Legend, Michael Jordan. MJ, I am also a 1963 baby and I am grateful that you are making turning half a hundred cool this year. Thanks also to Cristina Betances for the words earlier, I may just be motivated to take your advice and have a blowout, whether I do standing room only, or standing room lonely, with just a cupcake in my hand. Wow, MJ and Nike have sold millions of millions of shoes since the 1980's, and I have never worn a pair - never will, but thanks for the memories and motivational moments...you wear yours, I will wear my Kmart Kicks, and we'll be fine...no special shoes needed to follow in anyone's footsteps, just as long as the proper path is laid. Funny thing is, as we lay the path for out young to follow, we are providing them with better shoes, etc than we wore...as it should be. If not for Jupiter, Goldblatt's and Meyer's , there may have never been a Niketown.
There was only one man that could stop Michael Jordan, and that man was Michael Jordan.” There are days when I feel bad; not for me, but for kids these days, who have really bad cartoons to tune into. It’s funny how even though we’re so technologically advanced in the 21st century, the cartoons from the 50’s and 60’s were definitely better. I’m a 90’s kid and I’m glad. Not only did I watch the original Cartoon Network with Swat Kats and Dexter’s Laboratory, I grew up watching Michael Jordan; studying his every move. So much so, that even today I intentionally stick my tongue out on the occasional drive to the basket. Or shrug my shoulders after a pull-up J. Jordan turns 50 this Sunday, 17th February, and fittingly enough, that is the day of the All-Star Game. I was three years old when he won the ‘three-peat’ in 1993; too young to comprehend the gravity of the achievement. But when he rejoined the Chicago Bulls after his initial retirement in 1995, I was hooked. Slapping the ball wit ...
50 memories of Michael Jordan as he turns 50 - Chicago Sun-Times
I just heard on ESPN Radio that the city of Chicago made $1 TRILLION DOLLARS$ as a result of having Michael Jordan play for the Chicago Bulls...so how does the city of Portland feel? The Portland Trailblazers selected Sam Bouie instead of Michael Jordan in the draft that year!! DOH!!
What do you think of when you think Michael Jordan? 1. Chicago Bulls player or 2. Charlotte Bobcats owner
I favorited a video Michael Jordan's final game with The Chicago Bulls

Pro-Athlete Tax For years, professional athletes have been among the very few workers in private enterprise whose individual salaries are made public. Perhaps the owners disclose the numbers to prove a commitment to winning, or maybe the athletes themselves just enjoy having targets painted on their backs. Either way, in a society where seven- and eight-digit salaries for basketball and baseball players are common, it was only a matter of time before rapacious local governments started paying attention. In 1991, the Los Angeles Lakers and Chicago Bulls met in the NBA Finals. The Bulls were a media phenomenon at the time, employing Michael Jordan at his professional zenith and a supporting cast of lesser millionaires. Since each Bull earned half his money on "business trips," the state of California reasoned it was only fair to take a cut. Other states and municipalities followed suit, and today's traveling pro athlete has to maintain quires of paperwork to cover his obligations.
One-on-one with Paul Lee If you could play one on one against one player, alive or dead, who would it be? Maybe I'd play Lebron James. I wanna see kung gano talaga siya kalakas. [laughs] Any pre-game rituals? I get a haircut and eat sweet and sour fish fillet before a game. What movie can you never get tired of watching? The Hangover 2 At what age did you start playing basketball? I started at the age of 5 years old. Who was your favorite basketball player growing up? Michael Jordan in the NBA and Mark Caguioa in the PBA. Who's the most underrated player in the league? For me, it's Jervy Cruz. If you see him play, he nearly averages a double-double every game. If you were to play for an NBA franchise, where would that be? Why? Chicago Bulls, because I want to follow Michael Jordan's footsteps. [laughs] Any bands/artists you've been listening to lately? Chris Brown What do you like to do in your spare time, when you're not out there on the court? Just rest and watch TV. Sometimes, I go to the mall. If you ...
I am happy to say there is no team in the NBA this year that will challenge the Chicago Bulls record for wins in a season. Michael Jordan, Scottie Pipen, Dennis Rodman, Tony Kukoj, Ron Harper, Bill Wennington, Steve Kerr, Scott Burrell, Ronnie Brown, Robert Parish, John Salley. You all are still immortals of basketball allure.

My good friend, ex-Chicago Bulls and ex-coach of Michael Jordan's Charlott Bobcats, Sam Vincent has just asked me be the C.E.O. of Global Coach. I was also invited to speak before the NBRPA (National Basketball Retired Players Association) again, but this time at the All Star Game in Houston February 15th. We have a lot of exciting things on the horizon coming for Chicago and a number of other cities throughout the U.S. Stay tuned...

Smh, these kids talk about how they love "Basketball" and various sports, yet have absolutely NO idea about the sport or the history of. My son chose to create a biorama on Michael Jordan, yet thought it stopped/started at gym shoes and a couple games on television. While reading, "For the Love of the Game" to mini-me, I said the name Dr. J (Julius Erving). Do you know this boy thought Dr. J and Dr Dre were the same ppl? (Gr) That took me to even more pages in this story. These kids are asking for and purchasing Beats By Dre headphones and don't even know who the *** Dr. Dre is... Still smh... I told mini-me, back in the 90s when the Bulls game was on, everybody was in the house watching the game. Not saying it didn't happen, but there was no time to be outside shooting at folks because your focus was on MJ and the Chicago Bulls. Oh and after a win, which was *** near ALL the time, ppl were in their cars riding on the hood, blowing their horns, hollering through the sunroof and running down the street l . ...
In the final six minutes of the Miami Heat's win over the Los Angeles Lakers, Lebron James scored or assisted on 14 of the Heat's final 16 points in a vintage "carry your team to victory" effort. What else was of note from his game? Plenty. Here are five nuggets of interest. 1-- James had 39 points, eight assists, seven rebounds and three steals. Via Basketball-reference.com, we can tell you that the last three players to do that prior to him make for an unlikely trio-- Michael Jordan (1988 Chicago Bulls), Stephon Marbury (2003 Phoenix Suns) and Corey Maggette (2007 Los Angeles Clippers). 2-- James was 15-for-16 in the paint, as the shot chart above shows, and 13-for-13 from within five feet of the basket. The 13 made field goals tied his career high for the most such makes in a game. 3-- James had six dunks. That's his most in any game for the Heat and his most in a game since he had seven against the Utah Jazz in 2009. 4-- James is now 12-6 all-time in regular-season meetings with Kobe Bryant, 4-1 since ...
I say this as a Chicago native and a die hard Chicago Bulls fan. Lebron James is better than Michael Jordan.
For much of the NBA history, especially the 1990s, the Eastern Conference always ended up as NBA Champions. Only in 1994, 1995 and 1999 seasons the Western Conference ruled the NBA. The 1990s NBA was dominated by Michael Jordan led Chicago Bulls for 6 of 10 years. The only other Eastern Conference that ruled the NBA was the Bad Boys of Detroit Pistons in 1990, part of their back to back championship run. The Michael Jordan led Chicago Bulls had two Three-Peats during the 1990s (1991-1993; 1996-1998) during the same span. Houston Rockets won two consecutive NBA titles (1994 and 1995) and San Antonio Spurs during the worst lockout shortened season that was marred by Michael Jordan's second retirement right at my birthday, January 13, 1999. Therefore, despite only 4 teams won the NBA title during the 1990s, however the 1990s NBA was the fiercest, most physical, most challenging and most intense competition the NBA has ever seen and ever will see. In the sport of basketball in general, the 1990s saw the most ...

According to Barkley, what separates the two players is the fact that James "is just bigger, stronger, faster. That's the only difference." Do you agree with him? I know I do! -Ben
Do You Remember One Of The Greatest Games? Ron Watson-Sports Writer NBA Finals Game 6 1998: Chicago Bulls versus Utah Jazz Chicago was up 3-2 in the 1997-98 series, but this game on Utah's home court was supposed to be a Jazz win. It seems no one told Michael Jordan. With just under one minute remaining the Bulls down, 86-83, M.J. made history. His lay-up narrowed the Jazz lead to 1 point. On the next play, he stole the ball from forward Karl Malone and dribbled down the right-hand side of the court. When he made a crossover move, Utah forward Bryon Russell went for the steal and missed, leaving M.J. wide open. His 17-foot jumper, the ultimate clutch shot, gave the Bulls the 87-86 victory and their sixth championship in eight seasons. Jordan finished with 45 points and his sixth NBA Finals MVP award, and then retired for his second, but not final time.

NBA fact:(Micheal Jordan) Very early in David Robinson's career, within the first 2 years, the Chicago Bulls had internal discussions about calling the Spurs and asking them to trade David Robinson to them, offering Michael Jordan in return.
Batman had Robin. Seinfeld hung out with George. Monica, Rachel, Phoebe, Chandler, Ross, and Joey gathered in Central Perk as friends. Michael Jordan played with the Chicago Bulls. Moses partnered with Aaron. And Paul took Barnabas along. Good things come from teams. God did not design us to live life alone. Eve was created to be in relationship and work with Adam. Jesus picked his team-the 12 disciples. Jesus taught us the most about teamwork. He was the coach and asked his players to cooperate with him to complete his mission, even when they were confused, frustrated, and tired. As Mark Bailey says, "Discipleship is a team effort. He asks us to be disciples so that we might make disciples, who make disciples. (To Follow Him) That's our mission! I am by no means Jesus, and if he needed a great team to support him, then I need that even more so for my life and ministry. If i was to pick a nba team based on states i have been to it would be among Miami Heat, Orlando Magic, Chicago Bulls, Charlotte Bobcats, New York Knicks and Brooklyn Nets. Been to New York the most mainly Brooklyn so i would naturally become a Brooklyn Nets fan. Why am I a Kobe Laker fan? Was a Michael Jordan Chicago Bulls fan, MJ retired then everybody compared Kobe to MJ so i became a Kobe Laker fan. So that justifies everything. Still want to visit Los Angeles one day.
michael jordan tribute with the song I Believe I Can Fly: By R.Kelly. Chicago Bulls are going to win it all this year. EDIT: Thanks for the 4 million views everyone! Check out my debut album "Reveries of the Solitary Walker" on
An abysmal NBA team from the 90's said to Michael Jordan once... "We'll be back shortly to beat you and the Chicago Bulls." MJ calmly responded... "We'll be back before too Longley." ;D (This dumb joke brought to you by Chad Stem.)
I keep hearing the powers that be in the Nfl keep saying that "running quarterbacks can't win in the Nfl." Lets keep this in mind folks, if we've learned anything in life, is that "nothing in life is constant." As soon as a Coach (thinks outside the box) and develops an offense that caters to the ability of this talent everything as we know it will change. Seems to me alot of people are scared of this paradigm (wonder why that is). Remember when no one thought you couldn't win without a true center in basketball? Well, Phil Jackson of the Chicago Bulls changed that when he created an offense called the triangle and won numerous championships with Michael Jordan. Well as Jay Z once said "I don't believe you, you need more people."
man i started watching the bulls from 91-96. i can't watch basketball ball games anymore. It's not Michael Jordan.
I use to say the Michael Jordan was the Babe Ruth of Basketball but now it's apparent that Babe Ruth was the Michael Jordan of Baseball. ~Jerry Reinsdorf (Owner of the Chicago Bulls)
From the blog archives.how much would a Chicago Bulls jersey that Michael Jordan wore during one of his banner years cost.we have the details here:
Interesting facts you probably didn't know about Michael Jordan: • Michael Jordan played in two games wearing # 12 for Chicago Bulls. • MJ has never allowed a game 7 in NBA finals to take place. He has won all 6 of his NBA finals without having to play in game 7. • Michael Jordan was 3rd pick in 1984 NBA draft. • Twice in his career he played a game in which he only scored 2 points. • MJ is petrified of water, he watched his friend drown to death and almost drowned himself as a kid. • Michael Jordan majored in Cultural Geography. • MJ lists Laker legend Jerry West as the person he wanted to play one-on-one with • MJ ate the same meal four hours before each game, a 23-ounce New York steak and either a baked potato or mashed potatoes a salad, and a ginger ale. 23 ounces of steak a day? That's almost a pound and a half a day for 15 years. That's a lot of steak.
RIP Jim Durham. Grew up listening to him call Chicago Bulls games. Can still remember him calling Michael Jordan's shot on Craig Ehlo in the 89 playoffs.

I just saw a segment on ESPN, about Derek Rose. Heard about where he came from, and how he ticks. I think I am ready to be a Bulls fan again!!! More precisely, a D-Rose fan!!! Much respect man!

"I feel sorry for Chicago Bulls fans, man. They have to put up with a bunch of dudes who think they have swag wearing their jerseys and then the same dudes can't even name a basketball player on the team (or has played for the team) that isn't Michael Jordan. The Miami Heat will reach Chicago Bulls levels with swag bandwagoners soon. Just watch. We'll have dudes in Miami Heat jerseys and snapbacks who can't name a player outside of LeBron."
At the of the 1996 Basketball season, Michael Jordan was the proud possessor of two more MVP trophies. He earned one 4 regular season play & one for the Championship Series. When he decided to rejoin the Chicago Bulls durin the last portion of the 1995 season, he was confident he could quickly return to form. Admittedly, there were occasions wen he showed flashes of brilliance on the court, but much of the time, he struggled. Then, his return to glory was thwarted by the Orlando Magic in the semifinals. The disappointing experiences took their toll on Jordan who said, "The disappointments of last year motivated me to bounce bak," and he even thanked the Orlando Magic for givin him the incentive. He used the adversity of defeat as a catalyst to train harder in the off-season. The next year he was bak on top of his game and was again a pr ...

I guess that if I was going to be anything other than a Christian , I would be a Zen Buddhist . Jesus was around a lot of crazy characters and handled them all well . Coach Phil Jackson , noted for his Zen like character , molded a championship team in the Chicago Bulls . Somehow , even with all of the distractions , he made things work in the the team with Dennis Rodman , Scottie Pippin , and the incomparable Michael Jordan .
" This is what you live for, is to play Michael Jordan in the finals" - Magic Johnson After a long struggle against the " Badboy Pistons ", Chicago finally got past Detroit by showing a team, instead of a one-man-show. The team led by Michael Jordan
Michael Jordan is Bullish on U.S. Ryder Cup team CBSSports.com wire reports Sep. 28, 2012 4:25 PM ET 0 | Comment MEDINAH, Ill. -- Michael Jordan was out on the course early, rooting for his teammates to give him one more win in Chicago. Kind of had a familiar feel to it, much to the delight of the fans who lined the fairways Friday at Medinah Country Club. They were there to cheer the U.S. against Europe in the Ryder Cup. Seeing Jordan, an honorary team member, following the matches from inside the ropes was an added bonus. "Hey Michael," they yelled. "Come on No. 23, we need you back!" Jordan took it all in as if he were still playing for the Chicago Bulls, giving an occasional fist bump and acknowledging the crowd as he made his way around Medinah. His first mission, though, was to try and get the home team going, and he cheered loudly for Jim Furyk and Brandt Snedeker as they tried to mount a comeback in the opening foursomes match against Rory Mcilroy and Graeme Mcdowell. "It would be nice to win t ...

The Lakers were facing elimination, and the absences of James Worthy and Byron Scott were not any help to the Lakers. This would not stop Magic Johnson as Johnson had 20 assists in the game. Elden Campbell outscored Michael Jordan with 13 points in
Michael Jordan, Scottie Pippen, and Dennis Rodman are the best back in the day players for Chicago Bulls
When basketball legend Michael Jordan talked to the press after a Chicago Bulls or Washington Wizards game, fans never got to see the superstar with sweat dripping from his brow or a towel wrapped around his waist after emerging from the shower. Consciously aware of his image, Jordan would dress in a side room and not in the main locker room with the other players. So when he emerged, he was suited and booted. Some players would walk around naked, oblivious to the strangers standing there; others had towel wraps on, even dressing with members of the media standing not 10 feet away. Maybe Jordan should put in a call to Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge and the wife of Prince William, and give her a lesson or two on what you need to do in this media-obsessed world -- now that photos of her breasts have been published by a French newspaper. Brits are aghast at the breach of protocol, and Buckingham Palace is threatening legal action. Good luck with that. They are better off sitting Kate down with the ...

Your Commitment Contributes to Team's Success Jordan's answer "There's no I in Team " When Phil Jackson became the coach of the NBA's Chicago Bulls, he called a team meeting after practice. He told his players, "There is no 'I' in 'team'!" Michael Jordan responded, 'Yeah, but there is in 'win'!" I think Michael Jordan is right! What he was telling his new coach and his teammates was this: I am responsible. I am accountable. I will take the last shot with the game on the line. If I miss, I will take the heat in the pressroom from the reporters. I will perform my job to the best of my ability I will contribute to the success of my team and my teammates. Michael Jordan understood that if he did his job as an individual, he would contribute to the success of the team. (And he did his job well enough to earn six World Championships!) Jordan also understood how to lift a team to a higher level of performance. He set the standard of individual commitment and dedication to success. He understood that if you put ...

Top 10 NBA Players of All-Time 1. Michael Jordan Duh. :) MJ is the greatest basketball player this world has ever seen. He refused to lose, a trait possessed by few in the era of high-paid NBA players afraid to get dunked on today. He won six championships against John Stockton, Karl Malone, Charles Barkley, Hakeem Olajuwon, and other Hall-of-Famers. While most players suffer from the effects of achy bones and bruises as the years go on, Jordan simply adjusted his game and got better. He was the ultimate leader, the ultimate scorer, and the ultimate defender. If Larry Bird and Magic Johnson brought the NBA out of the doldrums of sports irrelevance, Michael Jordan took it straight to the forefront of American culture. Every aspiring basketball player of the 90s donned his signature jersey and shoes, and the Chicago Bulls became the iconic team of basketball. From now until the end of time, Jordan’s impact will be felt throughout the basketball world. Perhaps someday there will be a player considered bett ...
