Michael David Dunn fired into an SUV, killing 17-year-old Jordan Davis
JACKSONVILLE — Michael David Dunn faces at least 60 years inside a prison cell for firing 10 bullets toward a group of teenagers in a sport-utility vehicle during an escalating argument over booming rap music in a gasoline station parking lot. But they deadlocked on whether Dunn murdered Jordan Davis, 17, when he shot at the SUV. Three of the nine bullets that hit the car struck Davis, who was in the rear passenger seat. The gunfire missed the other teens. After almost 32 hours of deliberations over four days -- on the eve of what would have been Davis's 19th birthday -- a Duval County jury convicted Dunn on three counts of second-degree attempted murder Saturday night. Assistant State Attorney Erin Wolfson said each count carries a 20-year minimum mandatory sentence. These sentences must run consecutively, said Jackelyn Barnard, spokeswoman for the State Attorney's Office. Jurors also convicted Dunn, 47, of shooting or throwing a deadly missile. This felony is punishable by up to 15 years in prison, Wo ...

Time For Angela Corey To Go!!! The day after Thanksgiving 2012, Michael David Dunn, and his significant other, pulled into a Gate gas station on Southside Boulevard next to high school senior Jordan Davis, his girlfriend, and another two friends in the backseat of his SUV. Dunn had just come from a wedding reception and Davis, and his friends, had been shopping at the St. John's Town Center. Dunn and his girlfriend, Rhonda Rouer, pulled into the gas station to buy wine. He had consumed three rum drinks, according to police reports, at the wedding reception. He was angered over the loud music Davis was playing in his vehicle, which he referred to as "thug music" according to his girlfriend's testimony when they pulled up. Jordan Davis, when asked by Dunn to turn the music down, did but according to Dunn, turned it back up when he rolled up his window. Dunn asked him to turn the music down again and then alleged that something that either appeared to be a gun barrel or a stick was put up against the window ...
As we all know Michael Dunn was the individual who shot and killed 17 year old Jordan Davis over loud music at a convenience store. He fatally shot Dunn after asking him to turn down the music and he complied but that wasn't enough. In cold blood Michael David Dunn opened fire on Davis' vehicle hitting him in the groan and the back. Dunn is claiming self defense as justification for shooting Davis: a minor. Those interested in promoting justice and making a statement of unity against Gun Violence in our community. Tomorrow the SCLC will be at the steps of the Duval County Courthouse from 1 to 3 PM. Dear George Zimmerman... If you think Michael David Dunn killing Jordan Davis for playing music too loud is going to help you... Forget it.
BLACK TEEN’S SHOOTING REVIVES ‘STAND YOUR GROUND’ DEBATE On Friday night, gun collector Michael David Dunn pulled his sedan up next to the SUV in which the unarmed 17-year-old Jordan Davis satwith his three friends at a Jacksonville, Florida, gas station. Dunn, 45, allegedly asked them to turn down their loud music. According to the Orlando Sentinel, that provoked an argument with Jordan and his friends:Jordan and Dunn exchanged words, and Dunn pulled a gun and shot eight or nine times, striking Jordan twice, [Jacksonville sheriff's Lt. Rob] Schoonover said. Jordan was sitting in the back seat. No one else was hurt. Jordan died that night in his friend’s arms. Jordan’s father, Ron, later called Dunn a “coward” for shooting at the teens. Advancement Project co-director Judith Browne Dianis (a frequent Melissa Harris-Perry guest) went further in a statement sent to us today: “We can’t wait until another Black child is killed in Florida before the state sees the fallacy of Stand Your Ground ...
I would say JUSTICE FOR JORDAN DAVIS... but I know we won't get any form of justice. 'Cause it's always been just us... and it still is just us... and it will always be just us as long as we keep expecting these Courts and this government in general to give us any sort of consolation and rule in the favor of the Truth... This country was founded upon institutional racism. Its one of the many oppressive structures that exist as part of our everyday living... An old white man named Michael David Dunn can gun down a young black male named Jordan Davis "for his music being too loud" and it's excused, and for the SAME reason it was excused when Trayvon Martin was murdered by George Zimmerman for looking "suspicious". Had it been the other way around, both of these young men would have been in jail... Why? Because they are not privileged enough to be allowed by this society to defend themselves physically, mentally, culturally, or in any other capacity... I said it once, and I'll say it again, Black people, mar ...
