Just got 2 free Miami Heat vs. Utah Jazz tickets for tonight from my employer. Perks of being a referee.
Fun fact: Of the pro teams in the four major U.S. sports only seven have a nickname that does not end with the letter s, and none of them are football teams. Baseball has the Boston Red Sox and Chicago White Sox, hockey has the Colorado Avalanche, and basketball has the Orlando Magic, Miami Heat, and Utah Jazz.
The Charlotte Hornets are going to lose starting power forward Josh Mcroberts as he has accepted a four-year, $22 million offer from the Miami Heat. The Hornets are planning to sign Gordon Hayward to a four-year, $63 million offer sheet on Thursday and within three days the Utah Jazz are expected to match it. So, what's next for the Hornets? Well, now it's on to Plan C when looking over the free agent pool. Reportedly Charlotte is looking at another forward and a point guard -- both are unrestricted.
San Antonio (1) vs Miami (2) Miami’s 4th Consecutive Eastern Conference Championship (1st since Boston Celtics 1984-1987) San Antonio’s 6th Overall Western Conference Championship (2nd in the West only to Los Angeles ) First NBA Finals rematch since Chicago Bulls vs Utah Jazz (1997-1998) After a certain point, it is very difficult to measure or properly evaluate teams via statistics. When reaching the finals of any sports tournament (especially one decided by a best of 7 format), one can hardly remember one’s shooting percentage or number of turnovers unless it sets a record for the final round of competition. Instead, the true human factors are the key. The 2014 NBA Finals are no different. In the Miami Heat, we have the first true dynasty of the Social Media Era forming before our very eyes. With Indiana’s bewildering collapse, there are truly no contenders on the horizon in the Eastern Conference who can challenge Miami for their iced-out throne. Their only true threats have come from the W ...
I'm really a Utah Jazz fan but I cut for MIAMI HEAT to.

Here are our FREE NBA tips and analysis for Thursday! Orlando Magic – 3.5 – Sportsbet - $1.91 - 1.25 Stakes The Orlando Magic (8-17, 5-6 home) are matched up against the Utah Jazz (6-21, 3-11 away) at home in the Amway Center, Orlando. Jameer Nelson has been productive as of late averaging over 6 assists per game whilst fellow teammate, Aaron Afflalo has been scoring 21.6 points per match. The Utah Jazz have no significant injuries to report on and the Orlando Magic will be without PF Glen Davis in today’s match-up, however welcoming back Tobias Harris at the 4 spot should see increased production on both the rebounding and defensive ends of the floor. We don’t see this being indicative of how the overall result will be end up though. The Jazz are coming off a hard loss to the Miami Heat and prior to that the San Antonio Spurs. Gordon Hayward has stepped up his game and as of late is averaging 16.9 points this season. Look for PG Trey Burke to be aggressive early on in game coming off a 3 point, . ...
LeBron (ankle) misses practice Lebron James sat out of the Miami Heat's light practice Tuesday to rest his sore left ankle, and he's considered questionable for Wednesday's game against the Indiana Pacers. James sustained the injury late in the third quarter of Monday's 117-94 victory against the Utah Jazz when he tripped over his own foot while attempting to drive to the basket in transition. James left the court and sat out the first seven minutes of the fourth quarter before returning and finishing the game. The defending champs are trying to three-peat. The four-time league MVP is expected to receive treatment throughout Tuesday and into Wednesday before his status is determined for the matchup between the teams with the best records in the Eastern Conference. The Pacers beat the Heat 90-84 last week in Indianapolis. Speaking after Tuesday's practice, James said his ankle felt "about the same" as it did Monday night and that he would not have played if the Heat had a game Tuesday. "Very stiff, very so ...
LISTEN LIVE - The Utah Jazz and Miami Heat have tipped- David Locke and Ron Boone on the call - also on Utah Jazz app
It was almost exactly 25 years ago, on Friday, December 23, 1988, that I had the distinct pleasure of witnessing, in person, the Miami Heat's first home victory. The opponents were Karl Malone, John Stockton and the Utah Jazz. "They just whipped our butts," Malone said after the game. The Heat were led by Rory Sparrow, with 19 points. Kevin Edwards chipped in with 18 and Pat Cummings added 17. It was only the Heat's second victory ever, but they beat a very good Jazz team by 21 points, 101 - 80. The Heat take on the Jazz tonight at the AAA. My, how the tables have turned! Let's see how they do tonight.
tonight on League Pass: former teammates in Kansas Jayhawks Heat's Mario Chalmers and Jazz Brandon Rush meet for the first time this season as the Miami Heat (17-6) takes on the Utah Jazz (6-20) in South Beach @ 7:30pm ET. Jazz rookie sensation Trey Burke will get his first match-up against Wade & LeBron. the Heat's 2nd of 5-game home stands before they headed to California for a showdown against the Loss Angeles Fakers on Christmas Day (Heat 5-0) :D . we're going for 5-0 before Christmas Day.
(‹*Like›*) To wish my basketball team (Utah Jazz) good luck at RSJH at 7pm while we VS (Miami Heat).
NBA Portland Trail Blazers/Utah Jazz pre-season game was awesome! Its crazy to see athletes of that caliber. Next up Miami Heat!
Daily trivial knowledge: Out of the four biggest sports in the US (NFL, NHL, NBA, MLB), there are only 9 teams whose names don't end in the letter "s". They are the Colorado Avalanche, Minnesota Wild, Tampa Bay Lightning, Miami Heat, Orlando Magic, Oklahoma City Thunder, Utah Jazz, Boston Red Sox, and Chicago White Sox.
Look, see...if the board read the Miami Heat select Tim Hardaway Jr, then it would be perfect for all the wrong reasons. At least his father played there. But that it remains, Reggie Bullock AND Jamaal Franklin were still on the board. And then before the draft I read in the Daily News an article concerning the Knicks inability to make successful 1st round picks. Two players wig higher ceilings were passed over for a guy who surmounted to one of the worst second half slumps in college history, including this year's NCAA tourney. Though they went far, it was solely on Trey Burke (congrats, Utah Jazz). Same old Knicks...(of course I'll own up to it if he's good...And that's a BIG if!)
Hello I am new adim my favorite team Utah Jazz my favorite player Big Al Call name playa pimp
Congrats to Lebron James, Dwayne Wade, Chris Bosh and the rest of the Miami Heat...they put on a heck of a show tonight...also, gotta give the San Antonio Spurs credit as well...they played a hard fought, clean, & entertaining game, possibly my favorite finals series since the Chicago Bulls played the Utah Jazz way back in 98...the NBA has to consider the series a win for everyone! Congrats fellas, i KNOW Miami Beach, Florida will take care of ya'l tonight ;)
TRIVIA: Game 6 of NBA Finals 2013 between Miami Heat and San Antonio Spurs drew 20+ million viewers. Game 7 of NBA Finals 1998 between Chicago Bulls and Utah Jazz drew 72 million viewers. It was MJ's last game with the Bulls.
I'm starting to sense a 1990's Utah Jazz type of respect/hatred for this Miami Heat team growing within me and I don't know how I feel about it.
The 36-point margin of victory is the third-largest by any team in NBA Finals history. Only the 1998 Chicago Bulls (42-point win in Game 3 vs Utah in 1998) and the 2008 Boston Celtics (39-point win in Game 6 vs LA Lakers) have larger wins in the Finals. The 36-point loss is also the largest postseason loss in Miami Heat franchise history. The Spurs led by as many as 37 in this wire-to-wire victory. The Heat never led, and only tied the game twice. The largest NBA Finals loss by a team that went on to win the title was 34 points, by the 1985 LA Lakers against the Boston Celtics. If the Heat are to come back and win this series, they would set a new mark for the largest single-game loss overcome in a Finals series.
Both the Miami Heat and Oklahoma City Thunder appeared poised for a collision course this season, one the NBA hasn't seen since the Chicago Bulls and Utah Jazz did battle in back-to-back NBA Finals in the '90s. While the Heat have a favor to return with the Mavericks, arguably, the battle with the most ego perks is one with Kevin Durant and company. Minus Russell Westbrook, forget about it. Like Dwayne Wade's Outfit, OKC Came Up Short in Game 4 against the Memphis Grizzlies Hey, I admire Wade and how he set the bar high in the world of fashion for athletes. But last night he missed the mark when he arrived for Game 4 donning a pair of Zubaz pants (pictured here). Had it not been for the bag boy walking alongside the injury-plagued guard, the whole thing would have flopped. A bag boy, really? Perhaps, the outlandish threads foreshadow what fans and the Heat likely regret: a near-zero chance of LeBron and KD meeting in an NBA Finals duel. The Thunder appeared to follow suit as if they were cursed by the pan ...

Sitting next to a pair of Miami Heat scouts and one from the Utah Jazz who are here to watch Murray State's Isaiah Canaan.
In the final six minutes of the Miami Heat's win over the Los Angeles Lakers, Lebron James scored or assisted on 14 of the Heat's final 16 points in a vintage "carry your team to victory" effort. What else was of note from his game? Plenty. Here are five nuggets of interest. 1-- James had 39 points, eight assists, seven rebounds and three steals. Via Basketball-reference.com, we can tell you that the last three players to do that prior to him make for an unlikely trio-- Michael Jordan (1988 Chicago Bulls), Stephon Marbury (2003 Phoenix Suns) and Corey Maggette (2007 Los Angeles Clippers). 2-- James was 15-for-16 in the paint, as the shot chart above shows, and 13-for-13 from within five feet of the basket. The 13 made field goals tied his career high for the most such makes in a game. 3-- James had six dunks. That's his most in any game for the Heat and his most in a game since he had seven against the Utah Jazz in 2009. 4-- James is now 12-6 all-time in regular-season meetings with Kobe Bryant, 4-1 since ...
That was a great last couple of days of 30 years old... Watched Les Miserables, ate some amazing Chick Fil A, had my Utah Jazz beat the Miami Heat, my basketball girls scored 26 in an almost win in Overtime (lost by 3), played basketball with the stake guys, had a great final meeting with Pres. Fisler, and ate some bomb burritos. Thats a great way to go out! Started the year in France, ended with a bang. 30 wasn't a bad year. Here's to an amazing 31st year. Starting it with a new school, a new apartment and roomies, a new church, a new job. There is so much potential this year. Gotta work hard.. :)

Al Jefferson, Gordon Hayward help Jazz squash Heat rally.. Lebron James once scored 51 points against the Utah Jazz, and needed 50 on Monday night to become the youngest player to reach 20,000 for his career. He almost got there. James scored 32 for the Miami Heat, but the Jazz held on after nearly blowing a 21-point lead and won 104-97. "We're trying to learn how to push a lead from 20 to 30 and close teams out, but we haven't been able to do that for whatever reason," said Jazz guard Gordon Hayward, who finished with 22 points on 8-of-13 shooting. "We need to be able to ke ...
We have a total of nine games tonight guys and only one will be nationally televised. NBA TV apparently thinks the game between the Suns and the Blazers is the most interesting game tonight, gotta say I couldn't disagree more. I would rather see the Bulls at Hawks game or the Lakers at Warriors game but that's just me. Anyways, here are the game schedules for tonight: Detroit Pistons at Washington Wizards at 7:00 ET Chicago Bulls at Atlanta Hawks at 7:00 ET Utah Jazz at Miami Heat at 7:30 ET Indiana Pacers at New Orleans Hornets at 8:00 ET Memphis Grizzlies at Houston Rockets at 8:00 ET Cleveland Cavs at Milwaukee Bucks at 8:30 ET Charlotte Bobcats at Denver Nuggets at 9:00 ET Phoenix Suns at Portland Trail Blazers at 10:30 ET (NBA TV) LA Lakers at Golden State Warriors at 10:30 ET
Utah Jazz , Orlando Magic , Miami Heat && Oklahoma City Thunder are the only teams in the NBA that DO NOT HAVE A "S" ! STOP ADDING IT
Utah Jazz Raja Bell has expressed interest in joining the LA Lakers or Miami Heat but no mention if he is interested in the Chicago Bulls.
I want the NBA season to end rite now, cause, this is the playoffs matchup will look like after 10-13 games of the regular season, in the Eastern Conference, seed Miami Heat-seed Charlotte Bobcats, seed Brooklyn Nets-seed Boston Celtics, seed New York Knicks-seed Philadelphia 76ers, and finally the seed Milwaukee Bucks-seed Atlanta Hawks, thats the Eastern Conference playoff picture as of right now. For the Western Conference playoff picture its seed Memphis Grizzlies-seed Los Angles Lakers, seed San Antonio Spurs-seed Utah Jazz, seed Oklahoma City Thunder-seed Denver Nuggets and finally the seed Golden State Warriors-Los Angles Clippers, thats how the NBA playoffs should look like at season end in April, and I hope I'm right as of right now

When referring to athletic teams or similar groups, what form of verb or pronoun applies? The recent victory of the Miami Heat over the Oklahoma City Thunder in the National Basketball Association championships indirectly put this issue in the headlines. I don’t follow professional sports, so I didn’t even know these teams existed, but when I saw a headline about the game, I was intrigued by the fact that both team names are singular in form, rather than plural (as in the case of “the Los Angeles Lakers” or “the Chicago Bulls”). Back in the old days, before a handful of NBA teams with singular-form names came on the scene (the Utah Jazz and the Orlando Magic are the others), the answer to this question was threefold but simple: When referring to the team by its full name, pronouns and verbs take the plural form: “The Los Angeles Lakers are going to the playoffs.” When referring to the organization that manages the team, they should be singular: “The Lakers organization is downplaying the ...
The Utah Jazz were 1-0 against the Miami Heat this season. So who's the real champs? Jazz > Heat
