Today, I proudly wore one of my Miami Heat jerseys. Four NBA FINALS in a row and WINNING two of them is amazing. THANKS Lebron James, Chris Bosh, Dwayne Wade, Chris Anderson, Ray Allen, Shane Battier, Michael Beasley, Mario Chalmers, Norris Cole, Toney Douglas, Justin Hamilton, Udonis Haslem, James Jones, Rashard Lewis and Greg Oden for giving us a GREAT year of Basketball and taking us to FOUR NBA FINALS in a row. You did something that Dan Marino never could do and that is WIN the biggest and final game of the sesson.
Chicago Bulls rosters for their first 3 Championships all included Michael Jordan , Scottie Pippen , Horace Grant , Bill Cartwright , Paxson , BJ Armstrong , an Will Perdue all of which were Great Players that 90-91 , 91-92 , and 92-93 Miami Heat first three soon to be championship rosters 11-12 , 12-13 , 13-14 are very comparable with Lebron James , Dwayne Wade , Chris Bosh , Haslem , Mario Chalmers , Shane Battier , Being on all three and Chris Anderson and RayRay Allen on last year and this year. Along with help from Lewis and Cole now look at both of those and tell me they are not similar in talent? COME ON LETS DEBATE!!! Not arguing , debating. *

Turning Up the Intensity the N.B.A. playoffs, everyone is looking to win it all, and no one, thankfully, is thinking about the lottery. So after all the talk during the regular season about which teams were tanking in hopes of landing top draft picks, it will be refreshing to watch game after game in which the only objective is to score the most points. Of course, figuring out which team can do that all the way to an N.B.A. championship is a bit complicated. In the Eastern Conference, the Miami Heat seemingly took a step back from last season, with clear regression by two older players, Ray Allen and Shane Battier. The Indiana Pacers looked like title contenders for much of the season before grinding to a near halt in the last month, partly because of an overtaxed starting lineup. In the Western Conference, the San Antonio Spurs rolled to another top seed in the playoffs, and it would be foolish to bet against them. Still, age caught up to Manu Ginobili in last year's postseason, and it will eventually ge ...

Point by Point Bosh, James spark Heat's 109-102 win over Lakers Chris Bosh and Lebron James combined for 58 points and 19 rebounds to lead defending champion Miami Heat in a 109-102 victory over the struggling Los Angeles Lakers last night (Jan. 23, 2014). Despite Dwyane Wade's absence due to knee problems, Miami guards Mario Chalmers, Norris Cole and Ray Allen scored in double figures to keep the driver's seat right from the opening period, 30-27. With starters Bosh and James finding their rhythm, the host team built an 11-point cushion at the end of the first half, 57-46, and kept that through the third quarter, 85-75. Lakers, led by Pau Gasul's double-double 22 points and 11 rebounds, outscored the Heat in the fourth, 24-27, but was not enough to overhaul Heat's 10-point padding. This time, Miami controlled the boards, outrebounding the visiting team 48-35 all throughout unlike in its previous games. James had a double-double 27 points and season-high 13 boards and six assists while Bosh scored 31 and ...

ALL U NEED 2 KNOW ABOUT 2NITE'S BIG GAME The Lakers (16-26) play their fifth game on a seven-game road trip Thursday night when they visit the Miami Heat (30-12). Miami has lost four of its last seven games, struggling with Dwyane Wade missing games while dealing with knee problems. His status isn't yet clear for Thursday night. The Lakers gave the Heat a challenge on Christmas Day before falling short late in the fourth and losing by six, 101-95. The team has since lost Jordan Farmar (hamstring), Xavier Henry (knee) and Shawne Williams (waived) while adding Manny Harris. The Lakers will also be without Kobe Bryant (knee), Steve Nash (back) and Steve Blake (elbow). Key matchup Lebron James is still the best player in the NBA, averaging 26.2 points, 6.7 rebounds and 6.5 assists a game while shooting 58.0% from the field. The Heat typically put James at power forward, where the Lakers start rookie Ryan Kelly. Expect Coach Mike D'Antoni to ask Wesley Johnson to take the James matchup with Kelly on Miami forw ...
Feel like I've been in a time lapse or something. Been off of FB for some months. Not too good for a FB stockholder. A lot better than $17.50. Was talking to Grace about Duke basketball (Duke handled Miami tonight but does not have a big man underneath ) - I could not remember the name of the Duke BB player now with the Miami Heat - thought it had been a couple of years - turns out Shane Battier has been in the NBA for 12 years - so he was at Duke before Grace was born -guess I better finish up my payroll tax work for 2013 and frame my Bobby Hurley sunpapers photo. Amazing how the years flash by !
Since the end of last season the Miami Heat have made four significant roster moves. All of them have generally worked how the franchise had hoped for at this point. But they’ve also had an unintended consequence that may have opened a new Heat weakness, especially in how it relates to what seems like a destined matchup with the Indiana Pacers. Since winning the title in June the Heat used the amnesty provision on Mike Miller to release him. They signed Michael Beasley and Greg Oden to minimum contracts. And they traded Joel Anthony and two draft picks for Toney Douglas. Though Beasley has been up and down -- lately it’s been down, coach Erik Spoelstra has slashed his minutes -- he’s been a generally positive reclamation project at a terrific price. After methodical rehab, Oden has now played three games and has shown some moments that hint he could end up being an important piece later in the season, also at a great price. The Miller and Anthony moves look to have saved the Heat more than $23 milli ...

Heat dump Cavs CLEVELAND (AP) -- Lebron James scored 28 points and seemed more relaxed than in previous games back in Cleveland, leading the Miami Heat to their eighth straight win, 95-84 over the Cavaliers on Wednesday night. James added eight rebounds and eight assists in his fifth game as a visitor against the Cavs, the team that drafted him and the one he led to the NBA finals before leaving as a free agent three years ago to chase championships in Miami. He improved to 11-1 against Cleveland. Dwyane Wade added 22 points and Michael Beasley 17 for Miami, which coasted during long stretches and never appeared threatened. Dion Waiters, the subject of trade rumors, scored a season-high 24 and Kyrie Irving had 16 for Cleveland. The Heat opened a 15-point lead in the third and responded to every spurt by the Cavs, who got within eight in the final two minutes. James outscored Cleveland's starters 28-26, and except for arguing a few calls with the officials that didn't go his way, the four-time MVP and two- ...
Heat-Cavs Preview MIAMI (AP) -- - Lebron James will have his favorite Thanksgiving foods - turkey, yams and macaroni and cheese - on his holiday table Thursday. More importantly, that table will be surrounded by his favorite people. If an upside exists to the Miami Heat having to spend Thanksgiving and Christmas on the road, a schedule quirk that the NBA champions are not happy about, it's that one of those swings is through Cleveland. Miami visits the Cavaliers on Wednesday, and altered its postgame travel schedule so James could host Thanksgiving dinner at his northeast Ohio home. "We would have loved to have been here for the holidays, Thanksgiving and Christmas being here in Miami," James said. "We don't mind playing on those holidays. Wish we could have been here, but I am happy that I'm able to do something for the team for Thanksgiving." James has tried to address every detail, like telling the team to wear casual attire and asking Shane Battier what beer he wants with dinner. James' wife and his c ...
I hope Shane Battier goes out on top and wins another NBA Championship before he retires after this season. Shane Battier has been great player coming off the bench for the Miami Heat last 2 years. Shane Battier may not score a lot of points but scores points when it matters and he is a good defensive player.
Miami, FL - According to Ira Winderman of the Sun Sentinel, Miami Heat forward Shane Battier will likely retire following this season. He has had a great career and is hoping to finish it strong with a three-peat. Battier still has a decently sized role with the Heat, but it doesn’t appear tha...

Chicago Bulls 95 Miami Heat 107 Miami Heat getting their rings tonight and they are a bit rusty but they got down to business going on a 31-5 run spanning two quarters to put the game away early on. They were raining bombs hitting 11 3's, shooting at a high rate. LeBron with his all around game, and Shane Battier hitting all four of his 3's. Derrick Rose finally returned. We can finally get rid of that horrible Rose memes. He was rusty but he looked like Derrick Rose of old, getting to the line, attacking the defense. Give him some time and he'll be back to his old form. Jimmy Butler and Carlos Boozer had good games but not enough as they got absolutely mullered by the Miami Heat. John Michael`s a.k.a. The Ch1cken D1nner`s FREE SPORTS INFORMATION for the 2013-2014 NBA Southeast Division of the Eastern Conference: Miami Heat Preview: My Prediction 69-13 Division Champions/with david stern gone no 3peat When Lebron James and Chris Bosh decided to piggy back on Dwayne Wade`s back, who had already won a NBA title back in 2006, as a part of the whole 2010 decision, to take over the weakest division in the league the Southeast Division, there was no doubt they were going to win a championship, after being defeated by the Dallas Mavericks later that year, they turned to a proven winner (2001 NCAA Champion) and well respected professional who in my own personal opinion is one of the good guys in the league, Shane Battier, who at the time was a 11 year veteran, and in that series shot 61% from the field, 57% from downtown, and 71% from the charity stripe, scoring 58 points, along with 17 rebounds, 4 steals, and 2 assists, through 5 games, he was only averaging 4.8 points a game and 2.4 rebo ...
Heat looking for 4th straight Finals trip October 22, 2013 MIAMI -- Anytime an NBA franchise is trying to do something only previously done by the Boston Celtics and Los Angeles Lakers, that's rarefied air. That's what the Miami Heat are trying to reach this season. After going to the NBA Finals in each of the past three seasons -- winning the last two titles -- the Heat now aim to join an exclusive club. Only the Celtics, from 1957-66 and again from 1984-87, and the Lakers, from 1982-85, have made at least four consecutive trips to the championship series. "It would mean everything, man," said Heat forward Lebron James. "First of all, it means that I'm doing my part and I'm helping our team get better. It would mean everything to our team. That's what we're here for. We work our tails off every day. If it can pay off with another Finals appearance, we'd represent the Eastern Conference the best way we can." Miami was taken to the limit twice in last season's playoffs, needing to prevail in Game 7s to bea ...

It's clear Dwight Howard doesn't want to be in LA playing for Coach Dantoni...solution for both parties to fit Dantoni's playing style and to get something for Dwight instead of nothing: let Pat Riley get in Dwight and Mitch Kupchak's ear. Lakers sign and trade Dwight to Miami Heat for Chris Bosh and Mario Chalmers. Now, Bosh can be that stretch them out 4 man Dantoni wants. Put Gasol back down in the post. Give Kobe Bryant his last shot a ship.
COMMENTARY | Has Pat Riley lost his mind? The latest NBA trade and draft rumors suggest Greg Oden and the Miami Heat are considering signing options ahead of July 1 when free agency talks begin.
NBA Finals ’13 Game 7 Heat outplays Spurs, 95-88 by Homer Mondares, Sports Editor (from RV news magazine Vol.1 Launching their magnificent and tremendous shots, Miami Heat noses out the San Antonio Spurs, 95-88 (18-16, 28-28, 26-27, 23-17), on their heart-stopping final game in the best of 7 2013 NBA series, June 21 (Manila time), at the American Airlines Arena. The stadium was full packed with the fans who gave their best in cheering their teams. The most thrilling part of the game was when Heat forward Lebron James caught the momentum after firing consecutive three-point shots which made the crowd go berserk. Point guard Tony Parker, one of the key players of Spurs, had a hard time moving freely due to the double-team strategy of Heat coach Eric Spoelstra. In the final seconds of the second quarter, Heat leads with 33-27. James scored 14 while Tim Duncan, center, leads Spurs also by 14. Forward Shane Battier captivated a four out of four three points in favor of Heat, 81-77. In the latter part of the ...

With less than a minute left in Game Seven in the NBA finals and his team down by two points, San Antonio forward Tim Duncan found himself with a mismatch at the post against Shane Battier of the Miami Heat.
Congratulations to the Miami Heat and to Lebron James , the best basketball player on the planet. Also ex-Rocket Shane Battier was huge in this game, If it can't be the Rockets , hope it's the Heat again next year.
San Antonio Spurs lost the Game 7 and give Miami Heat it's second NBA Championship.but they can face their fans with their heads high.Is its because of Lebron James dominating performance...Nope he is just an ordinary players in it's prime...imagine if they are playing against Parker,Ginobili and Duncan at their prime...do you think they would have won a single game...never.they don't even have the chance against the Bad Boys of the 80's...The Detroit Pistons...even with Michael Jordans Chicago Bulls...imagine Jordan against wade...Rodman against Bosh...and Pippen guarding LeBron...no chance at all.but life is life...so be it...Hat's off to Coach Spo.to Shane Battier...and the Birdman of course...these role players are the reason they win the game...not are so called the Big Three...to me they are just a bunch of jokes. So us some class..fella...
DON'T FORGET ABOUT BOSH PLEASE: The NBA season is over after a remarkable seven-game series from the Miami Heat and San Antonio Spurs. Lebron James captured his second straight NBA Finals Most Valuable Player trophy, Dwyane Wade notched his third NBA championship and Miami fans are preparing for a parade on Monday. There were many memorable moments in Game 7: James draining the jumpers San Antonio was allowing him, Tim Duncan missing an easy layup to tie the game with under a minute left in the fourth quarter, Shane Battier sinking six of his eight three-point field goals. If defense wins championships, however, Chris Bosh's performance should be at the top of that list. His post defense against Duncan, transition defense and defensive rotations were more important than any amount of points he could have scored.
The Chris Anderson-led Miami Heat won the NBA Championship last night in Miami. Anderson was a +11 on the night, while Dwayne Wade and Shane Battier had 23 and 18 points, respectively. Ray Allen and Lebron James each contributed 4 assists to the winning effort.
Shane Battier shot 6-for-8 from the 3-point line to give the Miami Heat the edge in Game 7 of the NBA Finals
Miami Heat forward Shane Battier helped the Heat take home their second NBA Championship in two years by landing three three-pointers on the night.
Miami's Shane Battier kept it very real & simple after the Heat's Game 7 win While his teammates were probably either still very drunk or very hung over, the consummate professional Shane Battier celebrated winning his second consecutive NBA Championship with the Miami Heat by enjoying a nice breakfast at Denny’s this morning. He’s apparently a big fan of the Grand Slam…but then again, who isn’t? Frankly I wanted the Spurs to win. But I love it when good guys, from great programs show you exactly why they are good guys and exactly why there program was (and is) great. Thanks Shane.
I want to congratulate the San Antonio Spurs, and their fans all across the country on a fantastic 2012-2013 NBA season. For those of you who are TRUE Spurs fans, I am sorry for your loss. Your team played a great series, pushing the Miami Heat to the limit in a very professional NBA finals. As everyone from players, coaches, and fans tries to find comfort in loosing game 7, hold your head high, and look at the season as a great one. The series was much better than an episode of the Sopranos. Tim Duncan, I appreciate you my man! To the City of Miami, a BIG, BIG, BIG congratulations to you guys on your third NBA title. Lebron Jame, Dwayne Wade, Mario Chalmers, Shane Battier, Chris Bosh, Mike Miller, Ray Allen, Chris (Birdman) Anderson, Udonis Haslem, and Noris Cole, great job! And to my my man, the "Mob Daddy", Pat Riley, you did a great job assembling a great team. To Lebron James Haters: Get off his *** *** it!!! Most of you guys are not even a real basketball fans; nor can you play the *** ga ...
It really *** the Miami Heat won last night and it even *** more that Shane Battier of all people showed up hitting 5 or 6 threes in a row when he didn't do anything all series. Man it would have been nice to see Danny Green play better unlike game 6.
Even with Chris Bosh being a complete no-show last night on the biggest of stages, Pat Riley cannot possibly move him anywhere. This team is incredibly close and that would be a big move that I don't think Lebron James and Dwyane Wade would like. Riley needs to bring back Chris Andersen, keep Shane Battier, Mike Miller, Ray Allen, and Udonis Haslem around, and add a banger who has some athleticism. I don't know who or when or where from but it's a move that needs to happen. Bosh's perimeter game is too powerful for this team and helps our offense get space, even when he's not scoring. Congratulations to the Miami Heat. We shouldn't yet be discussing next season but that's the nature of the beast. GO HEAT!!!
The only players that I like and respect from the Miami Heat are: -Ray Allen since he's a fomer Celtics player and I support him no matter what team he's on. -Shane Battier since he contribute most of the game last night with those killer 3's. -Mike Miller since he a good bench player to use time to time and he's good at shooting 3's. -Chris Anderson a.k.a Birdman since he be rockin' those tattoos and I'm a huge fan of tattoos. -Lebron James since he's a great leader to the team and that he's a fanstatic NBA player. -Coach Erik Spoelstra since he's very good at coaching his team to winning and he's Latino. Beside that, everybody else I hate or dispise. Btw not a fan of the Miami Heat just a fan to those people I stated in my comment that's all!
Miami twice! Victory in Game 7 brought more than another crown for Lebron James and the Miami Heat. It validated the team and its leader, forever cementing their place among the NBA's greats. For the vanquished San Antonio Spurs, it simply compounded the misery of a championship that got away. James led the Heat to their second straight title, scoring 37 points and grabbing 12 rebounds in a 95-88 victory. Dwyane Wade added 23 points and 10 rebounds and Shane Battier scored 18 points on 6-for-8 shooting from 3-point range for Miami. Tim Duncan had 24 points and 12 rebounds, Kawhi Leonard had 19 points and 16 rebounds, and Manu Ginobili scored 18 points for the Spurs, who were trying to become the first road team to win a finals Game 7 since Washington in 1978. Kawhi Leonard added 19 points and 16 rebounds. San Antonio lost for the first time in five finals appearances. Capping their best season in franchise history -- and perhaps the three-superstar system they used to build it -- the Heat ran off with the ...
I have to congratulate the Miami Heat for winning the NBA Championship tonight over the Spurs. I'm also impressed with the class and mutual respect being shown by each side for the other. I know they always do to an extent, but as Dwayne Wade just said in an interview about the Spurs... "there's no trash talk or cheap shots anywhere, they just kick your butt." It doesn't just seem like rehearsed grace this time. That is one of the reasons the Spurs have always been my favorite team (or since I started watching pro basketball when they drafted Sean Elliott). Except for the disaster which was Dennis Rodman... and so some extent, Rod Strickland... they always have classy guys on the team, like Elliott, David Robinson, and Tim Duncan. That is a credit to the organization and great coaching. I like Shane Battier, even if he did go to Duke, and it was cool to see another old man I always liked watching, Ray Allen, win a ring. I also have to admit that Lebron James may definitely be worthy of "King" in the ba .. ...
Who else wants to join to the Miami Heat??? Shane Battier transfer earns his 2nd ring, now Ray Allen earns another ring and Chris Andersen earns his first ring.
I want to congratulate on Miami Heat winning another championship. To all my FB friends that are Miami Heat fans, great win. I might get myself a "Birdman" jersey. I'm glad that Miami Heat picked up Ray Allen, Shane Battier and Chris aka "The Birdman" Andersen this year. I'm so glad that Lebron James defended against Tony Parker going into the 2nd half. I have a question that gets me. How does Mike Miller and Chris Bosh combined for 0/10 shooting and not score not one single point and still win.
To Coach Pop, Timmy, TP and Manu, you guys have my respect from day 1. Come to think of it, you don't really need another title, you don't have anything to prove anymore. Your legacy has already been established. To the young ones in the roster especially to Kawhi, you'll get another crack at it. With Pop at the helm, nothing is impossible. To the Miami Heat: Well, what can I say? CONGRATULATIONS! Special mention to Lebron James, Dwyane Wade, Chris Andersen aka BIRDMAN, Shane Battier and of course, to our fellow Filipino, Coach Spo. It was a tough tough road that looked easy at first but you pulled through at the end. What a game. What a series.
My team Miami Heat bring home again the Larry O'Brien Trophy...sorry Spurs Nation...maybe this is not your season...thanks for exceptional play by the Big Three Lebron James, Dwayne Wade, and Chris Bosh...and the devastating three pointers made by Shane Battier...and also the Bird Man "Chris Andersen" who do a good job hustling HARD in getting the ball both in offensive and defensive rebound...and of course the ball controller super Mario Chalmers...2012-2013 NBA Greatest Season Ever...next mission THREE PEAT...see you next season guyz...
It is kind of freaky how evenly matched the Spurs Big Three/Four and the Miami Heat Big Three/Four were in Game 5. Check out the point totals: Tim Duncan 17 Chris Bosh 16 Tony Parker 26 Lebron James 25 Manu Ginobili 24 Dwayne Wade 25 Danny Green 24 Ray Allen 21 That’s a 4 point advantage for the Spurs. Then you throw in Kawhi Leonard’s 16 points which was 2 points better than Shane Battier and Mario Chalmers’ efforts combined. Splitter, Neal and Diaw combined for another 7 points while all the Heat had left was a desperation 3 from James Jones. And there is your 10-point spread.
Tiago Splitter needs to be more creative with his shots because the Miami Heat had a block party on him yesterday. Even Shane Battier got into the mix. The poor guy didn't know what was coming.
Who is this new player on the Miami Heat scoring all these points?? He's wearing number 3. Don't really recognize him
Dear Mr Spoletra its the fourth quarter with 8:46 left of a desperately needed game 4 in the NBA Finals here not a time u should be playing a poorly playing Shane Battier im sorry if this disrupt your gameplan but you are going to *** some Miami Heat fans off if we lose so do us all the favor of puttin Lebron James back in the game Thank you Sincerly yours Miami Heat fan
Why is Shane Battier even collecting a Miami Heat check?? He's like Tmac .. Xcept we like Tmac
Chris Bosh and Dwyane Wade haven't cut it lately for the Miami Heat, so it's time for their MVP to step up as everyone knows he can, not just with great all-around play but with scoring, too. Yes, I am a Celtics fan! I will root for any team but the Miami Heat! I do not like the organization one bit. I could care less about Ray Allen, Shane Battier, Mario Chalmers, Chris Bosh, DeWayne Wade and Lebron James and their coach! I truly can't stand their bandwagon fans! Where were you guys in 2006? Majority of you guys are Lebron fans and "pretending" to be Heat fans
Well...today begins day one of our battle...Miami Heat v. San Antonio Spurs. Funny...despite all we have accomplished this season..with the obvious evolution that our ENTIRE team has made...and ignoring the fact that we have...THE...greatest current player in the league...playing with one of the best 2 gaurds in the league(1st round Hall Of Famer) and a great hybrid power forward/Center/Small Forward in Chris Bosh...yes...Chris Bosh! Add Ray Allen..Mario Chalmers,Shane Battier,Udonis Haslem, the BIRDMAN...and a host of other pure shooters just waiting for their chance on the bench...People are saying we are the underdogs...lol...Lol...LOL...I like it! Motivation for the hounds...MIAMI STAND UP! BRING THE HEAT! WE READY! BIG 3 ON DECK!
Ok, wait a minute. I'm convinced that the Miami Heat are the Yankees of the NBA. Where washed up stars go to retire. Ray Allen, Shane Battier, Rashard Lewis, and... Juwan Howard. Juwan Howard! They just need to add Jerry Stackhouse, Grant Hill, and Shawn Kemp to the roster for next year.
ESPN News: Indiana Pacers players say they have to protect themselves, especially their knees, when Miami Heat forward Shane Battier is in the game during the Eastern Conference finals.
That's the Miami Heat we know and love! My game ball goes to Udonis Haslem, props to Chris Andersen AKA the Birdman for his continued bad-assery and I really dug Shane Battier's strong effort tonight, especially on D. Shout out to Ray Allen, showing signs of life!
The NBA said "we're cracking down on floppers this year" The didn't say, unless the Miami Heat do it. Shane Battier is worse than Sam Cassell and Bruce Bowen combined.
Pacers' Roy Hibbert accuses Heat's Shane Battier of dirty play in Game 1:
Hibbert: Battier Kneed Me in Groin on Purpose - Indiana Pacers center Roy Hibbert accused Miami Heat forward Shane Battier of purposely kneeing him below the belt during Wednesday's game. The Pacers center, who was inexplicably on the bench during the final play of Wednesday's loss in game one of the Eastern Conference finals, was kneed in the groin as Battier went up for a shot in the first quarter of Wednesday's game. He was in obvious and noticeable pain after the pl...
Whatever Roy Hibbert did against the Knicks will not. I repeat will not work against the Heat. In fact from a match up stand point who is he going to guard? It's easy to guard Tyson Chandler or Kenyon Martin because they are offensively impotent. Chris Bosh roams outside of the 3 point line and shoots mid range jumpers so Hibbert will be forced outside of the paint unless the Pacers play a zone so that he can clog the middle. If they play zone Miami have shooters Ray Allen, Chris Bosh, Shane Battier, Mike Miller, Rashard Lewis (if he can get off the bench), Mario Chalmers and now Norris Cole. Pat Riley knew he had to get the shooters to create a Dynasty. Prediction: Look for the Miami Heat to pressure the ball in the front court and throw the trap into effect once the ball gets over half court because the Pacers don't have any true ball handlers and it's a weakness that the Heat will exploit. Look for Lebron James to surgically pick apart the Pacers defense with his passing ability and his basketball bril ...

I never thtought that I would be saying this, but here goes.DWIGHT HOWARD IS A BUM! He continuously looks clumsy, lethargic, slow, and even weak out on the B-ball court. The reason the Lakers can't win Miami Heat is because you can't fight 2 superstars with one! Not to mention, Miami Heats team has better all around talent than almost all the NBA teams! I mean, even without Lebron and Chris Bosh, Miami Heat was a threat in the NBA with just Dwayne Wade. Now you add Lebron, Chris Bosh, Chris Anderson, a couple of go-hard Point and shooting guards, Mike Miller, and Shane Battier and it will take a miracle to beat them in a 7 game series! That's why I love the NBA, it's no LUCKY issh when the Championship Trophy is given away. The BEST TEAM is who wins the Trophy! I feel for my boy "Black Mamba" cah if he had atleast one more guy close to his talent on his team, it would be a wrap!

"LeBron Drops 30 In Heat Win" MIAMI -- Lebron James' scoring streak is still going, as well as his uncanny run of not fouling anyone. And the latest Miami Heat winning streak lives on as well, just in time for a Christmas showdown with Oklahoma City. James scored 30 points, Dwyane Wade added 21 points and seven assists, and the Heat rode the strength of a big third-quarter run to beat the Utah Jazz 105-89 on Saturday night. James added nine rebounds and seven assists for the Eastern Conference-leading Heat, who won their fourth straight game. Their next game against Oklahoma City in a rematch of last season's NBA Finals. Shane Battier scored 15 and Ray Allen added 13 for Miami, which opened the second half on a 22-6 run to build a 69-49 lead. "We look like a Miami Heat basketball team," Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said. Marvin Williams scored 16 for Utah, which got 15 from Gordon Hayward and 11 from Paul Millsap. The Jazz played the second half without Mo Williams, who had X-rays on his thumb and was concer ...

Rookie's last-second shot lifts Warriors over Heat December 13, 2012, 11:17 am .SPARK.. Rookie Draymond Green hit the go-ahead basket with 0.9 seconds left off a feed from Jarrett Jack to win the game for Golden State. AP MIAMI — The Golden State Warriors used a savvy play by a rookie and took advantage of a defensive breakdown to surprise the Miami Heat on Wednesday (Thursday, Manila time). Draymond Green, a second-round draft pick out of Michigan State, made a layup with 0.9 seconds left give the Warriors a 97-75 win over the Heat. The Heat left him open under the basket as there was miscommunication between Ray Allen and Shane Battier. "With the last shot, Coach didn't point out who specifically was going to take the shot," Green said. "We were going to find out who was open and make the best play. Of course guys are going to go with Klay (Thompson) and Steph (Curry). I just happened to be wide open and (Jarrett Jack) found me." Klay Thompson tied a season high with 27 points to lead the Warriors, wh ...

Miami Heat's Shane Battier adds new dimension with clutch shooting -
Just watching the various Miami Heat players do the victory talk show circuit and I was waiting to see Shane Battier on Meet the Press, seemed like it would be appropriate.
BTW.I’d like to congratulate the Miami Heat on taking home the ultimate prize in the sport of basketball, the NBA Championship. After watching their performance these past two weeks, there’s no doubt the better team came out the victor. The Heat played their best ball of the year in these playoffs, really coming on at the end. They seemed to click together at just the right time, getting contributions from their role players at just the right time. Mario Chalmers stepped up big in the last game, and Norris Cole hit a few timely buckets. Most impressive, though, was that wily veteran Shane Battier. He was remarkable; hitting 3’s with accuracy we’ve never seen from him. Along with that harassing defense and those hustle plays, his contributions were invaluable on this playoff run. Now, Lebron James – he’s worth of every superlative we could use. The man played an all-around game throughout these playoffs at one of the highest levels I’ve ever seen. Of course, he’ll keep being critiqued – a ...

1ST and 2ND about Miami Heat championship yesterday: -1st triple double of King James in the NBA Finals, the last person to do it was Michael Jordan, having back-to-back triple double games in 1991. -Probably the first and last championship for Mike Miller (he will be retiring) -7th ring of Pat Riley, currently the President and GM of Miami Heat. He is a former player and coach as well for LA Lakers. He coached the Heat who won the 2006 NBA Finals. -1st championship for Lebron James and Chris Bosh. -2nd championship for Dwayne Wade and Udonis Haslem. -1st championship of Juwan Howard after 17 years of playing in NBA. -Only the second championship of the Heat franchise. -1st championship of the new Heat Owner, Micky Arison. -Shane Battier was the first Duke player to win both champioships in college and in NBA. He was the second Duke player to win NBA championship, the first was Danny Ferry, with the Spurs in 2003. -Erik Speolstra was the First Asian and First Filipino-American to win the NBA championship. ...

Though I hate that the Miami Heat won, I got to give a shout out to Duke alum Shane Battier. Through all those college championships, Battier is the first Duke alum to win an NBA championship (been searching and can't find anyone else). Pretty sad since Michael Jordan of UNC has 6 (that's right LeBron, 6) Championships by himself...

Miami connection to GRMC by Sennett Rockers, Run Date: 6/21/22 (Seguin) – Though the San Antonio Spurs inability to advance to the NBA Finals has cooled basketball fever in Seguin, one employee at Guadalupe Regional Medical Center is following the Finals series between Oklahoma City and Miami closely. GRMC nurse anesthetist Stephanie Gardner is the older sister of Miami Heat forward Shane Battier. With the Heat holding a 3-1 series lead on the Thunder, is Gardner paying close attention to how her younger brother is playing? “Very much so,” she said. “I mean he’s playing awesome. He’s probably averaging more points than he has his whole career. He’s really doing well and so is the team so it is exciting to watch them play and, of course, root them on to victory.” Battier, who has a career scoring average of nine points per game, is putting in 12 points per game in the Finals. Included in that average are a pair of 17-point performances in the first two games of the series. Gardner has ...

Shane Battier is the Miami Heat's Secret Weapon after Lebron, Wade, and Bosh
Miami Heat's Shane Battier brings cerebral approach to his journey
Saw an interesting story last night on ESPN and I gotta' give it to ya' Dukies. Michael Viana, Ronte Gamble, Nate Jones and especially you Ron Gonia since it's your birthday. It was about how Shane Battier started a book club on the Miami Heat and it's helped Lebron get his mind off the media. They've read the Hunger Games and the Autobiography of Malcolm X. He may have gone to that other school, but I like folks that encourage education :) Battier has been doing it on and off the court lately. That being said he couldn't have done it without the Heat's Tar Heel Assistant Coach Bob McAdoo Coaching the big men and working on their shooting that he learned from Coach Dean Smith :)
The only thing I remember, from that "Miami Heat" game last night. Was "Shane Battier" making tons
So today at the mall I was told I look like Shane Battier from the Miami Heat. What do you guys think? I don't think so but I guess.
My favorite player on the court last night besides Lebron James was Shane Battier he was excellent defensively and offensively. The Thunder continue to have no respect for Shane's Battier shot. They left Shane wide-open so many times I thought Shane was going to have like 8 three-pointers the way the thunder have been defending him. The Thunder were so worry about how Lebron, Wade, and Bosh were going to play that they completely forgot about Shane Battier AGAIN. I already knew Shane was outstanding defensively, but these last two offensive performances have been exactly what the Miami Heat have been waiting for all season long and he has definitely picked the right time to get going for the HEAT. He had 17 points, 6-6 from the field, 5-7 from 3-point land he was remarkable. He made it so difficult for the Thunder to defend him because they did not expect him to have this kind of game again. The Thunder now know they have to be able to defend him or he going to keep burning them with 3-point shots. The bi ...
A position-by-position look at the matchups in the NBA finals between the Oklahoma City Thunder and Miami Heat: CENTER: Kendrick Perkins vs. Udonis Haslem. Perkins brings the NBA finals experience most of his young teammates lack, having been part of Boston teams in 2008 and ‘10. He had a rare high-scoring night in Oklahoma City’s regular-season win over Miami, scoring 16 points on 8-of-11 shooting. His time on the court in this series could depend on the Heat’s lineups, because with Haslem and Chris Bosh both often more perimeter oriented, the Thunder may need to go small. Edge: Thunder. POWER FORWARD: Serge Ibaka vs. Shane Battier or Chris Bosh. Ibaka has turned into more than just one of the NBA’s top defensive players, having a 26-point outing on 11-for-11 shooting in Game 4 of the Western Conference finals. He is shooting 55.6 percent in the postseason, best among players who advanced past the first round. The Heat have options for their rotation now that Bosh looks back to full strength afte ...
Miami Heat 100, Oklahoma City Thunder 96; Tied Series 1-1 THE FACTS: The Miami Heat jumped out to a big lead (18-2) in the first quarter and then held off a furious Oklahoma City rally to beat the Thunder 100-96 and tie the NBA Finals at 1-1 heading to south Florida. The Thunder got back to within two points and had a chance to tie the game in the closing seconds, but a shot by Kevin Durant bounced off the rim. Durant thought he'd been fouled by Lebron James, but no whistles blew. The stars for both teams shined bright. James and Durant led all scorers with 32 apiece. James also had eight rebounds and five assists with 12 of his points coming at the free throw line, including the last two of the game. Durant took only six foul shots, about half his normal number. Dwyane Wade added 24 points on 10-for-20 shooting to go along with six rebounds and five assists. Thunder point guard Russell Westbrook got off to a terrible start (1-for-8), but finished strong (18 second-half points) to end the game with 27. He ...
Just got home to find out the Miami Heat took Game Two...And that Shane Battier scored 17 points in a game the Thunder lost by 4...Struggling to get a handle on which fact ANNOYS him more.
Hey Rockets fans, at least we have 2 former Houston Rockets in the NBA Finals this year: Scott Brooks, Head Coach for the OKC Thunder, and Shane Battier, Small Forward the Miami Heat.
One statistic that bears watching for the Miami Heat in this series: 3-pt shooting. If they're not making it then they're not going to beat OKC. The onus is on guys like Shane Battier, Mario Chalmers, Mike Miller and James Jones (if he ever gets on the court) to make a high percentage of the open 3-pointers that OKC will concede to them.
Congrats to Shane Battier and Nick Arison as Miami Heat head to NBA Finals!
Miami Heat update: Because of Miami's excellent win tonight, they will excel to the championship against the Oklahoma City Thunder. Lebron James had 31 points tonight and 12 rebounds. Chris Bosh hit a career high three 3-pointers, putting a stunning affect on the game after his dry streak due to an injury. They put them away 101-88. The fourth quarter was when Miami conquered. They outscored Boston 25-18 in that quarter. The Big Three of Miami (Bosh, James, and Wade) scored every one of those points. Besides James's excellent performance, as asual, there were a few other noteworthy achievements by other players as well. Dwayne Wade, Shane Battier, Chris Bosh, and Mario Chalmers put on great shows as well. Here are the stats: Lebron James: 31 points, 12 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 blocks Dwayne Wade: 23 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists Chris Bosh: 19 points, 8 rebounds Shane Battier: 12 points, 3 steals (4-9 3 pt. range) Mario Chalmers: 11 points, steal, 3 assists Let's go Heat!!!
Time to see which Miami Heat team shows up tonight! Two even teams but Boston has out played Miami in 4 straight games! Game 1 Miami beat a tried Boston team that just beat the 76ers. The key to this game is you know Lebron & Wade should get there's. Bosh is one of the x-factors as well as Mario Chambers and Shane Battier! Chambers on the court the last two games a -13 and Battier -5!!! The worst on the court we all know is Joel Anthony -11 with M.Miller -10!!! So tonight i'm watch these four players on the floor tonight (Chambers, Battier, M.Miller and Anthony!) Let's see who does and doesn't show up tonight!!!
Miami Heat! Why? Because Shane Battier is one of the most professional gentleman players in the NBA. We miss you Shane!
