DIG moves SC against AIG promotions Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Yadav Adhikari of Nepal Police moved the Supreme Court to stop Thursday night's promotion of nine DIGs to Additional Inspector General (AIG) of Police. Registering his case on Friday, Adhikari says the government's decision is against police acts and regulations. Adhikari said he filed the case at the SC as the government's decision was unfair to him. A Cabinet meeting late on Thursday decided to promote nine DIGs to AIGs. "The government should have made the decision on the recommendation of the promotion-committee. I moved the case to court at my well-wishers' suggestions," Adhikari said. Adhikari has named Prime Minister's Office, the Ministry of Home Affairs and Nepal Police Headquarters as defendants. The police regulation has provision for seven posts for AIG -- in the Metropolitan Police Commissioner's Office, Nepal Police Training Academy and five departments at the Nepal Police Headquarters. However, the cabinet promoted nine DIGs ...
Law UK cyclingDMlondon wrote: oozaveared wrote: cyclingDMlondon wrote: One thing to remember in caases such as this (and others that we've seen on this site) is that the offence of common assault (see s. 39 Criminal Justice Act 1988) is complete as soon as the victim has cause to apprehend immediate and unlawful personal violence (Fagan v. Metropolitan Police Commissioner [1969] 1 QB 439). No one has to wait to be smacked around the mouth, before he responds. I am not saying that there should be _carte blanche_ to beat the f**k out of car drivers, but if you really, truly and genuinely believe that someone is about to hit you, then strike first (not forgetting that the law doesn't give you the right to kill someone for slapping your face. 'Reasonable force' is the principle to remember). You want to be careful about that though. If you have no opportunity to avoid being assaulted and it's imminent then it may work as a self defence plea. That doesn't automatically mean that you'll get away with it. Rememb ...
Yet another reason to have a campaign on this issue. Stephen Lawrence exclusive: Links between 'corrupt' officer on investigation and racist murder gang were suppressed to protect Met chief Will yet another judge-led public inquiry into police corruption sort out the Met? Monday 10 March 2014 • Intelligence that linked a suspected corrupt police officer on the Stephen Lawrence murder investigation to the gangster father of one of the prime suspects was apparently suppressed to protect the then Metropolitan Police Commissioner. A memo written in 2000 by a Met Police lawyer suggests the force suppressed information that John Davidson, a detective sergeant on the original botched investigation, was connected to the father of David Norris, one of the racist gang who stabbed Stephen Lawrence to death in 1993. The file goes on to warn a police officer who was preparing to leak information on the Lawrence case to a journalist that “disclosures relevant to DS Davidson’s contact with the Norris family could ...

Metropolitan Police Commissioner acknowledges a 15.5% increase in Domestic Violence cases. Violence with injury has jumped by 5.1% in recent months, partly fuelled by a rise in reports of domestic violence, the Metropolitan Police commissioner has said. Speaking to a panel including mayor Boris Johnson at City Hall in London, Sir Bernard Hogan-Howe said the 5.1% rise was seen in the final quarter of last year compared with the previous three months. He said he believes this was mainly driven by a 15.5% increase in domestic violence. Sir Bernard said: "It may be down to increased reporting rather than down to more domestic violence. Some of these increases have been in boroughs which have made the most increases to third-party reporting (where someone other than the victim reports the crime). "We are not going to say it's something we are not concerned about, but it's too early to say it's a trend." The number of repeat domestic violence victims fell by 10.2% in the three months, suggesting that more new v ...

“In 2012, one of Britain's most senior police officers, who tried to counter misconduct allegations by accusing the Metropolitan Police force of racism, was jailed for four years after he was finally exposed as "a criminal in uniform". Commander Ali Dizaei became the highest ranking officer to be convicted of a criminal offence in United Kingdom in 33 years. A jury took 10 minutes to convict the 47-year-old Iranian of misconduct and for perverting the course of justice after he assaulted and tried to frame a businessman to settle a personal score. Sir Paul Stephenson, the Metropolitan Police Commissioner, said Dizaei, who was cleared of the same charges in a trial seven years ago, had smeared the reputation of the country's entire police service with his "disgraceful behaviour". He has previously faced allegations of taking drugs, spying for Iran, fiddling his expenses, abusing his police credit cards and fabricating evidence and his conviction at Southwark Crown Court in London vindicated the force's d ...

Queen Elizabeth the Second, Monarch of Great Britain and the Common Wealth, has today been arrested for High Treason against the British People. Following the revelations of Jimmy Savile's perverted past, police swooped upon Buckingham Palace and arrested her Majesty and her husband Prince Philip. Further police raids were conducted at Clarence House, where Prince Charles was also arrested and taken to Cannon Row Police Station for questioning. Mr Adrian Leppard , the Metropolitan Police Commissioner for London confirmed that compelling evidence revealed by the blogger Christopher D Spivey, lead the police to conduct dawn raids across various Royal Palaces including Sandringham Palace and Balmoral Palace in Scotland. He says “Evidence has come to light which directly implicates her Majesty and her husband Prince Philip and her children with Satanic rituals involving young children.” Following the Sunday Express revelations that the Royal's close friend Jimmy Savile conducted Satanic rituals in attenda ...

At the end of the first chapter of my Jock Connection book, I set out in 6 paragraphs how political correctness, etc, took good detectives off London's streets. It might encourage shy folks to want to read more. The nonsense follows that in chapter 2. Some pre-1990s plods will have you believe that the “Golden Age” of policing disappeared about the same time TV’s Police Constable George Dixon retired from Dock Green nick. For Metropolitan Police Detective Constables Hamish MacNab and Harry MacSporran, continuing interest in policing “Goldenly” vanished within weeks of their most notable arrests, at their peaks as thief takers. In the late 1990s, the Home Secretary of the government of the day appointed a new Metropolitan Police Commissioner. His mandate was to cultivate a culture of Political Correctness within the Force and to deepen its brain pool, by facilitating the rapid rise through the ranks of those university graduates encouraged into the force with a swift-promotion carrot. Most senior ...
