"Were Madeline Kahn and Mel Brooks ever romantically linked?" I know the answers!
High Anxiety was a great blend of Hitchcock and that classic Mel Brooks comedy. It's a shame it's the only Madeline Kahn movie on Netflix.

For those on South Shore of Nassau County a heads up that Bellmore Theater are showing an evening viewing of Mel Brooks "Young Frankenstein" on the occasion of its 40th Anniversary, over a few Sundays in June. 1st showing is June 8th. Remember such classic comic cinema moments as: the old man acting as medical school test case getting kneed in the nuts (while his nerve reflexes were subdued), Dr Frankenstein stabbing himself in the thigh with a scalpel, as his medical students quiz him about his infamous Grandfather, Marty Feldman as Igor saying "Walk this way" at the Station after meeting Dr Frankenstein, (way before Aerosmith or Run DMC), Peter Boyles late inner peace and cerebralness as the Married Monster, Terry Garr as Inga asking Dr Frankenstein "Hallo. Vould you like to have a roll in ze hay?" Cloris Leachmann as Frau Blucher (Horses whinny), Madeline Kahn as Elizabeth, (after sex with The Monster) "Oh. Where you going?... Oh, you men are all alike. Seven or eight quick ones and then you're out wit ...
Happy 40th birthday, "Blazing Saddles", the funniest movie ever made and a film that could not be made today. It is a celebration of the enduring talents of Mel Brooks, Richard Pryor, Cleavon Little, Madeline Kahn. and Gene Wilder.
I thought I was tired... This is why Mel Brooks is a genius, and Madeline Kahn one of the best character actresses of all time. Enjoy Movie
Ok, so it is a little post-vaudeville, but freakin love Mel Brooks, Madeline Kahn, and especially Lili Van Schtup!

There has not been a better acting group than Mel Brooks, Gene Wilder and Madeline Kahn. I mean, "Blazing Saddles"...nuff said.
I was given the name a of director; not sure what I have to say, only that three of my favorite movies are by this director: Mel Brooks. My favorite of his is without question The Producers, with Zero Mostel and Gene Wilder. Just the opening sequence alone, with Zero and the old ladies is enough to make me cry with laughter. My next favorite is Young Frankenstein with brilliant work by Gene Wilder, Madeline Kahn, Peter Boyle and Cloris Leachman in a great character role. The last of the three is hardly last, though: Blazing Saddles, an outrageous satire of racism and the Old West. To me, the Yiddish speaking Indian chief, played by Mel himself, ordering his warriors to "Loz im gayn!" before turning to another Indian and muttering, "shvartses! dere darker dan us!" was the funniest moment in the movie, but Harvey Korman and Madeline Kahn deserved oscars for their work.
One of the funniest movies of all time, if you haven't seen it and don't watch it tonight I don't want to be your friend. AMC: Friday, January 24 8:00 PM 1974, R, ***, 01:33, Color, English, United States, A black railroad worker is appointed sheriff of a town marked for destruction by a scheming politician. Cast: Cleavon Little, Gene Wilder, Madeline Kahn, Slim Pickens, David Huddleston, Liam Dunn, Alex Karras, John Hillerman, George Furth, Mel Brooks, Harvey Korman, Dom DeLuise, Richard Collier, Count Basie Director(s): Mel Brooks Producer(s): Michael Hertzberg
Mel Brooks' raunchy, insane Blazing Saddles had a heck of a time getting out the gate, but when it finally did, oh what a race it ran. With pitch perfect performances by Cleavon Little, Madeline Kahn and Harvey Korman, the little Western (spoof) that could took on racial bigotry, sex and bodily func...
Just found the end of Young Frankenstein by Mel Brooks with Gene Wilder and Madeline Kahn. I remember going to the movies with HH as a teenager and laughing so hard I cried!! Wish I had found it earlier tonight!!
The Stranger - 'Young Frankenstein' - It's a Mel Brooks comedy from the man who brought you all the Mel Brooks comedies, Mel Brooks by Gillian Anderson After inheriting the family estate in Transylvania, the young Dr. Frankenstein sets out to re-create his grandfather's work and bring the dead back to life, with help from his creepy assistant, Igor. Starring the incomparable Gene Wilder, Madeline Kahn, ...
Blazing Saddles (1974) Movie Info Vulgar, crude, and occasionally scandalous in its racial humor, this hilarious bad-taste spoof of Westerns, co-written by Richard Pryor, features Cleavon Little as the first black sheriff of a stunned town scheduled for demolition by an encroaching railroad. Little and co-star Gene Wilder have great chemistry, and the delightful supporting cast includes Harvey Korman, Slim Pickens, and Madeline Kahn as a chanteuse modelled on Marlene Dietrich. As in Young Frankenstein (1974), Silent Movie (1976), and High Anxiety (1977), director/writer Mel Brooks gives a burlesque spin to a classic Hollywood movie genre; in his own manic, Borscht Belt way, Brooks was a central player in revising classic genres in light of Seventies values and attitudes, an effort most often associated with such directors as Robert Altman and Peter Bogdanovich . Some of this film's sequences, notably a gaseous bean dinner around a campfire, have become comedy classics.
'Hugh's favorite Films',(This is really funny) 'Young Frankenstein'. 'Young Frankenstein is a 1974 American comedy film directed by Mel Brooks and starring Gene Wilder as the title character, a descendant of the infamous Dr. Victor Frankenstein. The supporting cast includes Teri Garr, Cloris Leachman, Marty Feldman, Peter Boyle, Madeline Kahn, Kenneth Mars, Richard Haydn and Gene Hackman. The screenplay was written by Wilder and Brooks'. 'The film is an affectionate parody of the classical horror film genre, in particular the various film adaptations of Mary Shelley's novel Frankenstein produced by Universal in the 1930s. Most of the lab equipment used as props were created by Kenneth Strickfaden for the 1931 film Frankenstein. To further reflect the atmosphere of the earlier films, Brooks shot the picture entirely in black-and-white, a rarity in the 1970s, and employed 1930s-style opening credits and scene transitions such as iris outs, wipes, and fades to black. The film also features a notable period s ...
Watching Blazing Saddles with my 12 yr old for the first time, Harvey Korman, Gene Wilder, Madeline Kahn, and Mel Brooks, Classic!

Happy 87th Birthday to Mel Brooks! My favorite film of his is Young Frankenstein. Gene Wilder, Madeline Kahn, and the rest of the cast were hysterical!
The boys and I are watching Blazing Saddles (it's their first time). I had to explain who Randolph Scott was, but not Hedley Lamarr, or Howard Johnson, or Candygrams. Even Sheryl Love, who finds almost nothing funny in a typical Mel Brooks film, made sure she caught every second of Lili Von Schtupp. Darth did ask if Harvey Korman managed to win Best Supporting Actor. I had to tell him it was DeNiro in II, and that Madeline Kahn got the only acting nomination.
Watched Mel Brooks AFI induction last night and laughed my a** off.. wow lot's of great movies and he is still hilarious. On the downside - so many of the actors in his movies have died and they were great.. Harvey Korman, Madeline Kahn, Cleavon Little, Alex Karras.. and the rest are (forgive me ) old. but those movies were great and make me laugh every time... congrats to Mel Brooks.
Remembering the great Madeline Kahn, Gene Wilder, Marty Feldman in some hilarious outtakes from Mel Brooks, "Young Frankenstein".
Directed by Mel Brooks. With Gene Wilder, Peter Boyle, Marty Feldman, Madeline Kahn. Dr. Frankenstein's grandson, after years of living down the family reputation, inherits granddad's castle and repeats the experiments.
I'm thinking.."Dudley Do-Right" should've been made in the 70s! With Gene Wilder, Madeline Kahn, Harvey Korman, directed by Mel Brooks!
Mel Brooks has directed more than twenty films, yet he is known primarily for only three of them: The Producers, Blazing Saddles, and Young Frankenstein. People should remember a fourth Brooks film, High Anxiety. High Anxiety stars Brooks as a psychiatrist preparing to take a new job running a sanitarium. Brooks manages to create some wonderfully funny parodies of several Hitchcock films (including Psycho, Vertigo, Spellbound, and North By Northwest), as well as Antonioni's Blow Up. Many of the sequences are beautifully funny, catching the feel of the source material perfectly. The cast is extraordinary. It features many of Brooks' favorite actors including Harvey Korman in a twisted, and sexually bizzare role, Madeline Kahn as the leading lady, and Cloris Leachman in a creepy Nurse Ratched role. Some parts of High Anxiety are a bit slow, and as with all of Brook's films the majority of the gags fall flat; but they keep coming so quickly that you barely notice all the unfunny bits and focus on the funny o ...
So I'm watching, the American Masters Mel Brooks program, and enjoying it tremendously, and then there's Madeline Kahn being interviewed, and suddenly I'm all sad. Am I ever going to get over her death? So many horrible people live on and on, and often in Congress, but she's gone. It's just not right. Funniest line so far? Barry Levinson: "Mel is EXTREMELY verbal." No kidding? Mel Brooks extremely verbal? Are you sure? Do you have two sources for that statement? Saying Mel Brooks is extremely verbal is like saying the sun is very bright.
What a cast! Mel Brooks, Lee Marvin, Charles Durning, Madeline Kahn, and so many more! This movie is the best.
Photo: wandrlust: Mel Brooks and Madeline Kahn taken on the set of Young Frankenstein, c. 1974 — Steve...
My favourite Mel Brooks movie, no dispute. And the fact that Madeline Kahn was *so frwekin' hot* in it is only a coincidence.
BTW, that's the original Muppet Movie - the one with Richard Pryor, Mel Brooks, Madeline Kahn, Steve Martin and Orson Welles
I think I'm holding the record for watching the most Mel Brooks -Madeline Kahn films in one day... High Anxiety is my 3rd for today
ikr Dad loves Mel Brooks and mom loves Musicals that equals Madeline Kahn
One of my all-time favorite films is "Blazing Saddles." Sure, it may be crass in places but its social commentary is just as true today as it was back then. I'd have said that it wouldn't be possible anymore to make a film with such a liberal use of the N-word but Tarantino proved me wrong. Plus, it's so *** funny! Harvey Korman, Madeline Kahn, Cleavon Little, Gene Wilder, Mel Brooks- I mean, come on!
Gawd! How can you beat Mel Brooks, Cleavon Little, Gene Wilder, and Madeline Kahn!
Oh how I love Gene Wilder & Mel Brooks.and Madeline Kahn & Gilda Radner.even more since the same cancer got them as my mom
Okay, my favorite Mel Brooks story of all time. He shot a scene in which Cleavon Little and Madeline Kahn are in the height of a passionate act, shot against a curtain with the two of them not really visible. We hear garbled noises from her at first, then she mumbles, "Mien Gott! It is true what they say about you Black men!!" Cleavon replies and says, "Uh, you're sucking my arm..." Well, the scene was shot with the intention of knowing it would never get past the censors and he wanted to keep what he had in the final cut. So he showed them the rough and they cut it, and he got his other stuff to sail through. He's a funny guy.
"I was watching [Mel Brooks's comedy classic] Blazing Saddles with Mom and Dad," Max Brooks once recalled, "and Harvey Korman slaps Madeline Kahn and says 'Shut up you Teutonic *** ' My dad [Mel Brooks] leaned over and gently said, 'Don't ever tell your teacher that.'"
Watching "The Muppet Movie" with the 9 yr old (the original from '79), I forgot the extent of star power in it. You'd have a tough time putting a bill like that together today. (Bob Hope, Milton Berle, Richard Pryor, Mel Brooks, Steve Martin, Dom DeLuise, Madeline Kahn, Cloris Leachman, Orson Welles, Telly Savalas, James Coburn, Charles Durning, Elliott Gould, Edgar Bergen/Charlie McCarthy) And the movie's humor holds up.
The view from today's meeting room! No Jimmy Stewart, Kim Novak, Mel Brooks or Madeline Kahn sightings.
Another Bergman spoof (also the first film appearance by Mel Brooks' regular Madeline Kahn)
Breast Cancer Awareness
Mel Brooks calls his group of actors like Madeline Kahn, Ron Carey, Dom DeLuise "the Mouse pack- we weren't big enough for the Rat Pack."
Almost every Mel Brooks actor had a cameo. Madeline Kahn, Dom DeLuise, Cloris Leachman, Mel Brooks...the only one missing was Gene Wilder.
Is there a better movie than Blazing Saddles? Watching dear friend Cleavon Little with Madeline Kahn - the sheriff and Lily Von Shtup! "It's twoo it's twoo!" always lifts my spirits. '"
“I'm Tired” by Madeline Kahn with Mel Brooks and Company is my new jam. ♫

Directed by Mel Brooks. With Mel Brooks, Gregory Hines, Dom DeLuise, Madeline Kahn. Mel Brooks brings his one-of-a-kind comic touch to the history of mankind covering events from the Old Testament to the French Revolution in a series of episodic comedy vignettes.
I've always had a thing for 70's era Madeline Kahn. Must be the Mel Brooks movies.
I just used to discover I'm Tired by Madeline Kahn & Mel Brooks & Co..
Actor Alex Karras dies. He is he seventh member (that I know of) of the cast of Mel Brooks' "Blazing Saddles" to die in recent years. Cleavon Little (Bart), Slim Pickens (Taggart), Harvey Korman (Hedly Lamarr), Madeline Kahn (Lili Von Shtupp), Alex Karras (Mongo), Dom DeLouise (Dance Director), and Ann Bancroft (Mrs. Mel Brooks) who had a small, unlisted part, in the courtroom scene. Odd, eh?
So that's Madeline Kahn, Cleavon Little, Harvey Korman and now Alex Karras. I'd watch my back, Mel Brooks and Gene Wilder.
Just rediscovered the wonderment of the movie "Clue". Tim Curry (of Rocky Horror Picture Show), Madeline Kahn (of all the great Mel Brooks movies), Christopher Lloyd (of the Back To The Future Trilogy), Michael McKean (of the Christopher Guest mockumentaries), Eileen Brennen (ever present creepy woman), Martin Mull (of Mr. Mom and Roseanne show), Here's a trailer for you youngsters. *** the scene where Mel Brooks is getting murdered in the phone booth and Madeline Kahn thinks its a pervy crank call...SO FUNNY! profiles the life and films of actress Madeleine Kahn, known for her comedic work in the madcap films of Mel Brooks.
Happy Birthday to Madeline Kahn!! She would have been 70 today. Another great talent we lost way too soon to cancer. This is one of her best scenes from one of her best movies! Mel Brooks called her the most talented person he ever knew and he was right.
And last but not least is Madeline Kahn at her best. he was one talented Actress, Mel Brooks loved her work and also thought she was very talented.
High Anxiety is a 1977 comedy film produced and directed by Mel Brooks, who also plays the lead. This is Brooks' first film as a producer and first speaking lead role (his first lead role was in Silent Movie). Veteran Brooks ensemble members Harvey Korman, Cloris Leachman and Madeline Kahn are also...
Watched Blazing Saddles while Dean was up at the Observatory training Curt and Bre' and showing the moon to Brune 1 Cabin. I love Mel Brooks movies. Madeline Kahn was so fabulous in this one. Right now "I'm so tired!"
Sorry, folks, but I just love/loved Gene Wilder, Mel Brooks, Marty Feldman, Madeline Kahn, loved that slapstick comedy that Mel Brooks provided for us in History of the World Part 1 (My all time favorite movie) - I don't think we will ever see Part 2! - my opinon. My step-dad used to manage Bandera Road Drive-in and we would see movies for weeks at a time. & even though she was not in any Mel Brooks movies, I will forever miss Gilda Radner - (she and Gene Wilder were married at the time of her death) Sat. Night Live and Rosanne Roseannadana. Thanks for the laughs and the memories.
One of my favorite scenes from "Young Frankenstein" starring Gene Wilder, Terri Garr, Peter Boyle, Madeline Kahn, Marty Feldman and Cloris Leachman. Mel Brooks directed this now classic spoof of the novel Frankenstein and is based on the premise ...
Dom DeLuise, Actor: All Dogs Go to Heaven. As might be said for the late and great comedians Harvey Korman and Madeline Kahn, it seems that Mel Brooks was the only director on the planet who knew how to best utilize this funnyman's talents on film. Brooks once quipped that, whenever he hired Dom DeL...
Young Frankenstein Trivia: Teri Garr, who plays Inga, was called in when Madeline Kahn, whom Mel Brooks had...
The great Madeline Kahn. You can see her on the big screen during our run of "The Producers" a Mel Brooks musical. For details:
One of the best Mel Brooks movie bits is Madeline Kahn doing the 'Yes/No' song with the pantsless Roman soldiers.
"If you're quiet, you're not living. You've got to be noisy and colorful and lively." So said Mr. Mel Brooks, who was born on this Day 86 years ago. Happy Birthday to a master of comedy... To quote him through a line Madeline Kahn uttered in Blazing Saddles, "He's a real nice guy".
Ah High Anxiety. One of my favorite Mel Brooks movies and one of his most underrated. A movie that lampoons the works of Alfred Hitchcock and stars Mel Brooks, Cloris Leachman, Madeline Kahn and of course Harvey Korman. Definatly worth a watch if you can find it on DVD/Blu-Ray or just que it up on Netflix like me.
I agree. I grew up on Mel Brooks movies! Without him I wouldn't have known about Madeline Kahn. That would have been a tragedy
"Blazing Saddles" is on. Madeline Kahn was an amazing talent, and Mel Brooks is a genius.
This is a great scene! If you watch this, closely, you can see one of the soldiers knock out a stage light when he throws down his rifle...that wasn't supposed to happen, but Mel Brooks kept filming. Watch Madeline Kahn...she noticed the light blub going out, but kept on going. That's professional. :o)
Watching Young Frankenstein.. I love you Mel Brooks, oh and Gene Wilder and Marty Feldman and Madeline Kahn. And the 70s in general.
yeah! didn't the late *** Clark do that Mel Brooks movie with Gene Wilder, Marty Feldman and Madeline Kahn!! "Puttin on the Ritz!"
