Blazing Saddles is on Netflix right now. If you need some humor? Check it out. Mel Brooks, Gene Wilder, Dom Deluise, Harvey Korman...
1927 Harvey Korman as Hedley Lamarr in Blazing Saddles, 1974, directed by Mel Brooks.
Trump:Mel Brooks; Priebus:Harvey Korman. A Blazing Saddles cabinet. 'I didn't get a harrumph out of that guy'.and so, I fear, it will be.
notes that Tim Conway cracks up Harvey Korman. I've heard this directly from both Carol Burnett & Mel Brooks.
Surprised no reference to the great Harvey Korman as Dr. Seward. This was actually his last Mel Brooks film also.
Mel Brooks and Harvey Korman could go to town on that.
That's Harvey Korman and Mel Brooks, correct? What movie was this?
I think Eric Mccormack could be solid in Gene Wilder's role in Blazing Saddles. Toughest are Cleavon Little, Mel Brooks, & Harvey Korman.
I love Mel Brooks movies. I love his ensemble cast with Cloris Leachman, Madeline Kahn, and Harvey Korman.
Attorney General Hedley Lamarr played by Harvey Korman in Mel Brooks 1974 Western comedy.
. My all-time favorite Mel Brooks/ Harvey Korman pun is in it! . "Don't get saucy with me, Bearnaise."
I'd have to add Lily Tomlin, Harvey Korman, Madeline Kahn, Mel Brooks, Stiller and Meara, Ruth Buzzy, Carlin, and Richard Pryor
"Chris gave away that Graham Chapman was related to Ian Gill,Burt Reynolds/Harvey Korman/Charlie Bronson, and reasons to suspect Mel Brooks"
"with people wondering why other articles said it happened to a different person, and why his relative Mel Brooks fired Harvey Korman"
Mel Brooks is a genius! Gene Wilder, Cleavon Little & Harvey Korman, to name a few, are absolutely hilarious!!
Just found out Harvey Korman passed away… His work in Mel Brooks' films and Carol Burnett always brightened up my day. He'll be missed, like so many….
Showed the kids Mel Brooks' DRACULA.I had never seen it due to bad reviews and an over saturation of Leslie Nielsen comedies at the time of its release. But my GOD is it good! Often hilarious, Harvey Korman is brilliant, the cast is spot on in spoofing the Browning film, Peter MacNicol nails Dwight Frye.this movie has aged SO well! Classic Brooks!
That would mean I could hang out with Mel Brooks,. Harvey Korman and the gang. Cool.
R.I.P. Sid Caesar who died February 12 at 91. This guy literally invented television comedy. Without him there would be no Saturday Night Lives or sitcoms or any of the funny stuff you enjoy on T.V. everyday. He spawned the careers of Neil Simon, Mel Brooks, Carl Reiner, Imogene Coca, Carol Burnett, Vicki Lawrence, Harvey Korman, Tim Conway, Don Knotts and the list is endless.
Watching "Blazing Saddles": Great comedy classic if you love Gene Wilder, Mel Brooks and Harvey Korman. Didn't think I'd ever get to say this in my life, but "they don't make'm like they used to."
I was given the name a of director; not sure what I have to say, only that three of my favorite movies are by this director: Mel Brooks. My favorite of his is without question The Producers, with Zero Mostel and Gene Wilder. Just the opening sequence alone, with Zero and the old ladies is enough to make me cry with laughter. My next favorite is Young Frankenstein with brilliant work by Gene Wilder, Madeline Kahn, Peter Boyle and Cloris Leachman in a great character role. The last of the three is hardly last, though: Blazing Saddles, an outrageous satire of racism and the Old West. To me, the Yiddish speaking Indian chief, played by Mel himself, ordering his warriors to "Loz im gayn!" before turning to another Indian and muttering, "shvartses! dere darker dan us!" was the funniest moment in the movie, but Harvey Korman and Madeline Kahn deserved oscars for their work.
One of the funniest movies of all time, if you haven't seen it and don't watch it tonight I don't want to be your friend. AMC: Friday, January 24 8:00 PM 1974, R, ***, 01:33, Color, English, United States, A black railroad worker is appointed sheriff of a town marked for destruction by a scheming politician. Cast: Cleavon Little, Gene Wilder, Madeline Kahn, Slim Pickens, David Huddleston, Liam Dunn, Alex Karras, John Hillerman, George Furth, Mel Brooks, Harvey Korman, Dom Deluise, Richard Collier, Count Basie Director(s): Mel Brooks Producer(s): Michael Hertzberg
Mel Brooks' raunchy, insane Blazing Saddles had a heck of a time getting out the gate, but when it finally did, oh what a race it ran. With pitch perfect performances by Cleavon Little, Madeline Kahn and Harvey Korman, the little Western (spoof) that could took on racial bigotry, sex and bodily func...
Blazing Saddles (1974) Movie Info Vulgar, crude, and occasionally scandalous in its racial humor, this hilarious bad-taste spoof of Westerns, co-written by Richard Pryor, features Cleavon Little as the first black sheriff of a stunned town scheduled for demolition by an encroaching railroad. Little and co-star Gene Wilder have great chemistry, and the delightful supporting cast includes Harvey Korman, Slim Pickens, and Madeline Kahn as a chanteuse modelled on Marlene Dietrich. As in Young Frankenstein (1974), Silent Movie (1976), and High Anxiety (1977), director/writer Mel Brooks gives a burlesque spin to a classic Hollywood movie genre; in his own manic, Borscht Belt way, Brooks was a central player in revising classic genres in light of Seventies values and attitudes, an effort most often associated with such directors as Robert Altman and Peter Bogdanovich . Some of this film's sequences, notably a gaseous bean dinner around a campfire, have become comedy classics.
Watching Blazing Saddles with my 12 yr old for the first time, Harvey Korman, Gene Wilder, Madeline Kahn, and Mel Brooks, Classic!
What an incredibly intelligent and beautiful woman she was! Happy Birthday Hedy Lamarr!!! It's funny, every time I hear her name, I always think of Mel Brooks iconic movie "Blazing Saddles". Harvey Korman played a corrupt politician named "Hedley Lamarr" and throughout the entire movie, he was constantly referred to as "Hedy Lamarr" irritating him to no end. If you haven't yet sen this movie, you should watch it soon. It turned the page in film making in so many ways, not to mention, you will split a gut from laughing so hard! Governor William J. Le Petomane: Thank you, Hedy, thank you Hedley Lamarr: It's not *Hedy*, it's *Hedley*. Hedley Lamarr. Governor William J. Le Petomane: What the *** are you worried about? This is 1874. You'll be able to sue *her*.
"Too Jewish." Hedy--that's *Hedley* Lamarr (Harvey Korman) to railroad foreman Taggert (Slim Pickens) on why they can't kill the first-born male child of everyone in Rock Ridge. Blazing Saddles; Mel Brooks, 1974.
I strive to reach the dreams of my youth... For decades, one of the biggest dreams I had was to be as funny as Mel Brooks for 5 minute increments, two times a month... As of yet, I am constantly reminded by others that I fail at this task... Still, I dream... I think, therefore I kvetch... I kvetch, therefore the bris of '66 worked for something... & now, some haiku: Torquemada said Everybody jump queen Why am I in drag Fabulous knockers I'm Garr'd for life now, thank you I be not normal Springtime for Hitler The fall of Semite-antics Bang-croft graduate Navin R. The boys and I are watching Blazing Saddles (it's their first time). I had to explain who Randolph Scott was, but not Hedley Lamarr, or Howard Johnson, or Candygrams. Even Sheryl Love, who finds almost nothing funny in a typical Mel Brooks film, made sure she caught every second of Lili Von Schtupp. Darth did ask if Harvey Korman managed to win Best Supporting Actor. I had to tell him it was DeNiro in II, and that Madeline Kahn got the only acting nomination.

Watched Mel Brooks AFI induction last night and laughed my a** off.. wow lot's of great movies and he is still hilarious. On the downside - so many of the actors in his movies have died and they were great.. Harvey Korman, Madeline Kahn, Cleavon Little, Alex Karras.. and the rest are (forgive me ) old. but those movies were great and make me laugh every time... congrats to Mel Brooks.
While I enjoy all of Mel Brooks' comedies, I think "Dracula - Dead and Loving It" had the best lineup of all of them. Mel Brooks, Steven Weber, Harvey Korman, Peter MacNicol, Leslie Nielsen, Amy Yasbeck, Megan Cavanagh, and other known character actors.
I'm thinking.."Dudley Do-Right" should've been made in the 70s! With Gene Wilder, Madeline Kahn, Harvey Korman, directed by Mel Brooks!
If you were a Movie director and you were going to film a remake of Mel Brooks "Blazing Saddles", who would your top choices be for actors to take the places of Gene Wilder, Cleavon Little, Harvey Korman, Slim Picknens and Alex Karras (Mongo)? I could only come up with Cuba Gooding Jr. for Cleavon Little and "The Rock" (Dwayne Johnson) for Mongo.
Blazing Saddles is on. Gotta love Mel Brooks' humor. Opening scenes: Harvey Korman: "there may be a legal precedent for land snatching (grabs a legal book looks up land). "Land, land.see *** " Cut to scene with Madeline Kahn.Guffaws already...
Mel Brooks has directed more than twenty films, yet he is known primarily for only three of them: The Producers, Blazing Saddles, and Young Frankenstein. People should remember a fourth Brooks film, High Anxiety. High Anxiety stars Brooks as a psychiatrist preparing to take a new job running a sanitarium. Brooks manages to create some wonderfully funny parodies of several Hitchcock films (including Psycho, Vertigo, Spellbound, and North By Northwest), as well as Antonioni's Blow Up. Many of the sequences are beautifully funny, catching the feel of the source material perfectly. The cast is extraordinary. It features many of Brooks' favorite actors including Harvey Korman in a twisted, and sexually bizzare role, Madeline Kahn as the leading lady, and Cloris Leachman in a creepy Nurse Ratched role. Some parts of High Anxiety are a bit slow, and as with all of Brook's films the majority of the gags fall flat; but they keep coming so quickly that you barely notice all the unfunny bits and focus on the funny o ...
Harvey Korman (Count de Money) , Andrea Voutsinas (Bearnaise) and Mel Brooks (The King) in what I consider to be Brooks' funniest film after "Blazing Saddles...
Mel Brooks and Harvey Korman in the former's, "High Anxiety" ~ too funny for words!
Oh, Hello High Anxiety. I needed to get some homework done, but I've always got time for a Mel Brooks film I haven't seen yet. Especially with The Man and Harvey Korman.
Someone just handed me a paddle ball. I felt like I was in that scene in Blazing Saddles...except I was Mel Brooks, not Harvey Korman.
Watching one of Mel Brooks beat movies Blazing Saddles laughing my *** off
Watched a special on PBS on Mel Brooks last night. They showed a clip from the movie, "High Anxiety." Harvey Korman plays the head of a psychiatric hospital; Mel asks him, 'Can you tell me your success ratio?" (In a bad accent) Harvy says,"Yes, I can figure that." (Gets out a calculator, and computes furiously, then looks at Mel, and gives him the answer . . .) "Once in a blue moon."
So I'm watching, the American Masters Mel Brooks program, and enjoying it tremendously, and then there's Madeline Kahn being interviewed, and suddenly I'm all sad. Am I ever going to get over her death? So many horrible people live on and on, and often in Congress, but she's gone. It's just not right. Funniest line so far? Barry Levinson: "Mel is EXTREMELY verbal." No kidding? Mel Brooks extremely verbal? Are you sure? Do you have two sources for that statement? Saying Mel Brooks is extremely verbal is like saying the sun is very bright.
Will we ever again have comedic actors like Harvey Korman, Gene Wilder, Mel Brooks, Madeline Khan, Dom Deluise and Cloris Leachman?
Just saw Blazing Saddles on the big screen and all I can say is: Cleavon Little was HOT . . . And Gene Wilder needs to read me bedtime stories. . . And Madeline Kahn is a genius, same with Harvey Korman and Mel Brooks and the little old lady. . .
I didn't know this. In fact, despite my Old Movie Buff-inity, my first encounter was from from Mel Brooks and Blazing Saddles, with the Harvey Korman character correcting folks about his name, it's HEDLEY La Marr!
I like Spaceballs. But Blazing Saddles was my introduction to the awesome that is Mel Brooks. Plus, Harvey Korman.
Another one of the best movies ever made, Mel Brooks' best movie ever, and my all time favorite movie. 1974's Blazing Saddles. It's about a poor slave named Bart(Cleavon Little) who is appointed Sheriff by William J. Le Petomane(Brooks), the citizens of Rock Ridge complain and want Petomane to remove Bart. Meanwhile, Bart meets Jim the Waco Kid(Gene Wilder) and automatically makes him his sidekick, they learn that a thief Hedley Lamarr(Harvey Korman) wants to take over Rock Ridge, so they must stop Hedley. 100 percent a recommendation and my favorite quote from the move is "Hey, Where the White Women At?"
Thank you, Cleavon Little, Gene Wilder, Madeleine Kahn, Richard Pryor (writer), Harvey Korman, Slim Pickens, David Huddleston, a great group I can remember right now and.Mel Brooks.
"I was watching [Mel Brooks's comedy classic] Blazing Saddles with Mom and Dad," Max Brooks once recalled, "and Harvey Korman slaps Madeline Kahn and says 'Shut up you Teutonic *** ' My dad [Mel Brooks] leaned over and gently said, 'Don't ever tell your teacher that.'"
"Wayne LaPierre" sounds like a Harvey Korman character in a Mel Brooks movie.
"Blazing Saddles" {1974} Without doubt, the most 'politically-incorrect' comedy ever made and one that would never be studio-financed today even though it was Clevon Little who made most, if not all, of the off-color, racial comments. The sexual innuendo is mild but funny, but the satire by Clevon Little, Gene Wilder, Harvey Korman, Medeline Kahn, Slim Pickens & Brooks himself are some of the funniest scenes ever produced. Why has political correctness taken so much out of our quality of life ??? This is Mel Brooks' best work - a real classic.
Blazing Saddles 2: Django Unchained. Harvey Korman would've been a great Dr. Schultz; Mel Brooks as Stephen.
Why yes - there is astory behind it but I chose it bc Mel Brooks is one of my favorites as is Harvey Korman very underrated!
.Remember the riff in Mel Brooks' Blazing Saddles where Harvey Korman's mayor is called Hedley Lamarr?
An Interview with Leah Camhi Sutton was a talent booker for the upscaled cabaret club in New York City called "Upstairs at GreeneStreets". While most cabarets and comedy clubs dealt with the hussle and bussel of running their shows for monatary reasons. Leah's format for entertainment was more of an upper class, upscaled, layed back nature. Her artists (who were the best) came from all forms of the entertainment business. The Cabaret was considered one of the best places a seasoned act would want to work. Many name celebrities frequented the room. Harvey Korman, Warren Beatty, Mel Brooks and more
I want to live in a world where: It is run by Carol Burnett, Tim Conway, Harvey Korman, The Marx Brothers, Mel Brooks, Red Skelton, Redd Foxx, Richard Pryor, Earnie Kovacs, Wierd Al Yankovich, Frank Zappa-get my drift?
Actor Alex Karras dies. He is he seventh member (that I know of) of the cast of Mel Brooks' "Blazing Saddles" to die in recent years. Cleavon Little (Bart), Slim Pickens (Taggart), Harvey Korman (Hedly Lamarr), Madeline Kahn (Lili Von Shtupp), Alex Karras (Mongo), Dom DeLouise (Dance Director), and Ann Bancroft (Mrs. Mel Brooks) who had a small, unlisted part, in the courtroom scene. Odd, eh?
So that's Madeline Kahn, Cleavon Little, Harvey Korman and now Alex Karras. I'd watch my back, Mel Brooks and Gene Wilder.
High Anxiety is a 1977 comedy film produced and directed by Mel Brooks, who also plays the lead. This is Brooks' first film as a producer and first speaking lead role (his first lead role was in Silent Movie). Veteran Brooks ensemble members Harvey Korman, Cloris Leachman and Madeline Kahn are also...
Next up.the classic 'High Anxiety' with Mel Brooks & Harvey Korman. Those who are tardy do not get fruit cup!
"Give the Governor HARRRUMMPPHH!" Harvey Korman to Mel Brooks' political lackeys in Blazing Saddles!
Dom Deluise, Actor: All Dogs Go to Heaven. As might be said for the late and great comedians Harvey Korman and Madeline Kahn, it seems that Mel Brooks was the only director on the planet who knew how to best utilize this funnyman's talents on film. Brooks once quipped that, whenever he hired Dom DeL...
Mel Brooks at his finest, IMO. And it makes me miss Harvey Korman.
Ah High Anxiety. One of my favorite Mel Brooks movies and one of his most underrated. A movie that lampoons the works of Alfred Hitchcock and stars Mel Brooks, Cloris Leachman, Madeline Kahn and of course Harvey Korman. Definatly worth a watch if you can find it on DVD/Blu-Ray or just que it up on Netflix like me.
Wish they had casts in movies like Blazing Saddles had. Harvey Korman, Gene Wilder, Mel Brooks, Slim Pickens, etc. Nothing compares nowadays
