If you know me well, then you know I have a "thing" for voices ( which is one of the reasons I chose my profession), like those that belong to James Earl Jones, Carl Sagan, Johnny Cash, Cher ( yes Cher), and of course Maya Angelou! A few years ago I was give the opportunity to go to the Oprah show with my dear friend Lynne Morrison Landry and her sisters in law. We heard Maya Angelou read a Christmas poem that she had written! What an incredible day! I am so saddened to hear of her passing today. I had read, I KNOW WHY THE CAGED BIRD SINGS, prior to hearing her speak. If you get the chance, read this book!! It is a book that helps me to realize how lucky I am! Love to all!

I mean seriously, I kept waiting for Maya Angelou & Sojurner Truth to pop up on the screen with Harriet Tubman! Eddie Griffin, Don Cheadle, Bill Cosby, Sinbad, Robert Guillaume, Faison Love, John Witherspoon, B-Real(of Cypress Hill), Treach(Naughty By Nature), Marla Gibbs, even Luther Vandross!!
