![]() Transfer News: Everton to sign Leroy Fer from FC Twente Everton have agreed a deal to sign Holland midfielder Leroy Fer from FC Twente for a fee believed to be in the region of £8million. Toffees boss David Moyes has fended off strong competition from a number of clubs all over Europe to land the Dutch international. The 22-year-old, who started his career at Feyenoord before joining Twente in 2011, will move to Goodison Park once personal terms have been agreed and a medical been passed. Fer, nicknamed 'The Bouncer' due to his physical strength, hit headlines last year when he spent £22,000 on a horse for his girlfriend, only to find she could not keep it as she lives in a block of flats. But the signing of Fer, who has two caps for his country, is unlikely to prompt the departure of Marouane Fellaini during the January Transfer Window, according to Sky sources. ![]() Chelsea to Sign Everton Midfielder Marouane Fellaini Within 72 Hours According to French Source Highly respected French source L’Equipe claim today that Chelsea will complete a deal to sign Everton midfielder Marouane Fellaini before the end of the week. The 25 year old Toffees star has been strongly linked with a move to Stamford Bridge and is seen by some as a goal-scoring midfielder who can able replace veteran Frank Lampard, who appears to be set to leave the West London club in the summer when his contract comes to a close. There is speculation that Fellaini has a £22m release clause and knowledge of that may well have hastened Chelsea’s interest to sign the former Standard Liege man. Fellaini is into his fifth season on Merseyside since his £15m move to Everton from his native Belgium. This term is perhaps the powerful midfielder’s most successful to date, with the 6ft 4in attacker netting nine goals thus far this term to help David Moyes’s side mount a genuine challenge to secure a Champi ...

![]() Marouane Fellaini scored Everton's fifth goal of the night in a 5-1 win at Cheltenham Town that completed a one-sided FA Cup third round win at Whaddon Road. Nikica Jelavic (12), Leighton Baines (21 pen), Russell Osman (49) and Seamus Coleman (58) were also on target before Fellaini netted in the final minute to secure David Moyes's side a trip to Bolton or Sunderland in the fourth round at the end of the month. Russell Penn scored for League Two Cheltenham after Everton had gone 3-0 ahead early in the second half, but the home side struggled to cope with the quality of Everton, who are looking to one step further having lost to Liverpool in the semi-final of last year's competition. Everton have now conceded a goal in 18 consecutive matches in all competitions, but they will be content with this outing. Moyes was rewarded for resisting the temptation to tinker with his starting line-up as the Premier League team responded with a display of real professionalism. -UT
![]() Marouane Fellaini: He is the player that any team in England would want to have. Strong, dynamic and skilful, the Everton midfielder is seen as the complete package. And the Toffees want a transfer fee to reflect that. Chelsea will have to fork out the big bucks - reputedly in excess of £30 million ($A46m) - if they want to lure him to Stamford Bridge. And even then manager David Moyes has expressed doubt over whether he would be allowed to go.
![]() Everton What they need in a nutshell: To lock up Leighton Baines and Marouane Fellaini until 1 February. Window shopping: Their aim for January has to be keeping Fellaini and Baines more than signing anyone. David Moyes will not discuss a new contract until the window closes and, in terms of his future as their manager, it is important they don't sell either of them. They might also need a new centre-back. Sylvain Distin has come back into the picture because Johnny Heitinga has not had a great season but Distin is 35 now. Joleon Lescott would be ideal if they could take him on loan and do a deal with Manchester City about his wages. ![]() FOOTBALL:- [EPL] Everton star Marouane Fellaini has revealed he has been forced to quit Liverpool for Manchester due to his popularity with the women of Merseyside. The 25-year-old has been in magnificent form this season to help David Moyes’ side mount a meaningful challenge for a Champions League qualifying position in the Premier League. Fellaini’s goalscoring exploits, not to mention his unmistakable hairstyle, have cemented his position as a Goodison Park cult hero, but the Belgium international admits the attention he now receives from adoring fans has become all too much. “I am living in Manchester now, because in Liverpool, the women were crawling for me," Fellaini said.

![]() Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is ready to smash the club’s transfer record this summer as he sets his sights on Everton star Marouane Fellaini. The 25 year old Toffees midfielder has been in excellent form thus far this season but stated his intention to leave Goodison Park earlier in the campaign during a interview with Belgian reporters. Fellaini was in hot water following those comments but hasn’t let speculation over his future affect his form. Marouane Fellaini was publicly admonished by boss David Moyes over his violent altercations during Everton’s recent encounter with Stoke City, which led to further talk of a possible Everton exit. Now Wenger has identified the former Standard Liege man as his number one summer target. The Gunners boss has earmarked a move to bring in Fellaini to act as much needed support for his front-line, a role the Everton man currently fills a similar spot behind Croatian Nikica Jelavic to good effect. Fellaini will be all the more likely to push for an Everton exit ...
![]() World Sports News Anichebe return perfect timing for Everton Everton's Nigerian striker Victor Anichebe has returned to first team action at just the right time, club manager David Moyes says. The 24-year-old showed little sign of lacking match fitness as he returned to the side and scored in last weekend's 2-1 English Premier League victory over West Ham, leaving them fifth in the table. Moyes, who has gained many admirers over the years for keeping Everton competitive by spending wisely the little money he has been allocated, is especially pleased Anichebe has returned now as the impressive Belgian international Kevin Mirallas is struggling with a hamstring problem. Anichebe may well lead the line against third from bottom Wigan on Wednesday. "Victor has played very well. He is an important player for us and a lot of people underestimate what he can do for us," said the 49-year-old Scot, who has been in charge of Everton for 10 years. "Not having him available means we have not been able to change many ...

![]() Everton manager David Moyes has revealed his delight after his side's win over West Ham United. Having fallen behind, goals from Victor Anichebe and Steven Pienaar gave the Toffees are 2-1 win at Upton Park on Saturday. The Scot is especially pleased that his side were able to win the match without the suspended Marouane Fellaini. "We decided to go 4-4-2 with the two boys up front and what we have done is won in another fashion," said Moyes. "I have learnt you can't just have one way of playing in the Premier League. As the season goes on, injuries and suspensions take their toll." "And I think it was a good lift for us as well to win without Marouane in the team. I thought our play had warranted to get back in the game." "And you're saying how will we make this better, but I didn't think we needed to make it better because we were playing really well, it would have been difficult to do anything off the bench to make that better." Everton host Wigan Athletic on Boxing Day.
![]() Karren Brady football diary SATURDAY, DECEMBER 15 JUST when it seemed the wicked art of headbutting had been whistled out of the game, along comes Marouane Fellaini to show us it is alive and, well, butting. Everton manager David Moyes plays it exactly right. Many would have delivered the Nelson ‘I see no ships’ card but Moyes comes clean and immediately condemns the Belgian, whose later apology shouldn’t save him from Christmas in chains. ![]() My Epl Preview : West Ham United vs Everton Fc : Everton remain on the road for their last game before Christmas with another potentially physical and tricky match-up in store against West Ham at Upton Park. It's three months to the day since the Blues last registered an away victory, that coming against Swansea City in a 3-0 win that helped establish David Moyes's side as early contenders for a top-four finish. A slew of draws but just one defeat since have kept them in the top six but the manager has beeing ruing his side's inability to win games recently. Last weekend's bruising encounter against Stoke City was a case in point, although, with neither Manchester City nor Arsenal able to leave the Britannia with more than a draw, it was still a creditable result. Still, Everton had the chances to win the game and failed to do so, taking the number of tied games they've racked up this season to nine. The game was costly, too, in that robs Moyes of Marouane Fellaini, his top goalscorer, for the Festive per ...

![]() Pienaar Scores In Toffees Comeback Steven Pienaar got on the scoresheet as Everton produced a dramatic turnaround to defeat Tottenham 2-1 at Goodison Park on Sunday. Clint Dempsey gave Spurs the lead in the 76th minute and the match looked destined to end in favour of the visitors until Pienaar scored in stoppage time with a long-range header before Nikica Jelavic got a dramatic winner just seconds later. David Moyes’ men had the best of the early chances when Jelavic came desperately lose to sneaking one into the net, only to be denied by the outstretched hand of Hugo Lloris. On 43 minutes it was the Toffees again who came close as Marouane Fellaini found Leon Osman, but his left-footed curler drifted just wide. There were two late penalty claims for Everton just before the half-time whistle. First a strong shot hit the body of Dempsey, but that was turned down, then Pienaar saw his shot hit the arm of William Gallas, but again the referee waved play on. Spurs came close to breaking the deadlock 12 ...
![]() Dream Transfer Scenarios for each EPL TEAM! ARSENAL Left-back Andre Santos is a terrible footballer, while Kieran Gibbs can't seem to stay fit. Aston Villa A creative midfielder with a little physicality would be an ideal addition in the middle of the park, while a winger to serve up crosses for Christian Benteke would also go down nicely. CHELSEA Radamel Falcao So maybe this isn't the ideal situation for Roman Abramovich due to his lust for Fernando Torres, but for literally everyone else involved, Falcao is a must-have signing for Chelsea this winter. EVERTON Retention of key players Everton may look at one or two positions in January—with creative midfield being the obvious flaw—but David Moyes will be happy if, by his first game in February, he still has his best players at Goodison Park. ![]() David Moyes: Thought Everton deserved penalty Everton manager David Moyes is concerned by a hamstring injury Leighton Baines picked up against Arsenal on Wednesday night. Baines has been the Toffees' stand-out player in the last two seasons and provides a real attacking thrust down the flank. However, Moyes now faces the prospect of heading to the Etihad Stadium to face Manchester City at the weekend without his most consistent player. "Leighton's got a hamstring injury. He felt it in the game and played on in the last 10 or 15 minutes," said the Scot. "I felt we put in a lot of energy (in the game) but it might take its toll. "We've got Gibbo (Darron Gibson) and Hibbo (Tony Hibbert) back and that has eased it a little bit but I am worried about Nikica Jelavic (ill) who has not trained since Saturday and on Tuesday I was not playing him." Manager David Moyes recently stated that it would take a significant fee for the club to even consider selling their talisman, with the likes of Chelsea and Manchester United reportedly interested. However, Fellaini remains focused on the task in hand, claiming that the club can match his ambitions in the short term as Everton enjoy their best start to a Premier League season since 2004-05 when they finished fourth. "There is interest in me. But Everton are an ambitious club as well," the Belgium international said after his country's 2-1 loss to Romania in an international friendly on Wednesday. "I don't think they'll let their best players go just like that. I want to play for one of the biggest clubs one day. But I am patient." ![]() 1. Marouane Fellaini Although Everton finished just outside the European spots last year, a haul of 50 goals represented their lowest total in the top flight since 2005/06, when they came 11th. Nikica Jelavic helped to boost the Toffees' total after joining in January, but David Moyes' side still needed more firepower if they were to make a real assault on the top four in the current campaign. This is where Fellaini has stepped in, scoring the winner in the opening match against Man United and grabbing crucial strikes against Fulham and Sunderland. In total, Fellaini's goals have been directly responsible for seven points - a difference that would see the Blues drop from fourth to 11th. Matt Stanger

![]() I have watched MIKEL ARTETA played in various midfield roles and the role that I enjoyed watching the most was as an attacking midfielder. However I did find him very good at tackling and he did not have to commit himself to sliding in order to win the ball. But that quality was rarely used by David Moyes as he already had Lee Carsely and then Marouane Fellaini playing in that defensive role. Nevertheless Arteta was pivotal in every attacking move and Everton still crave for a player of that quality since Arteta left. I thought that Wenger was going to utilize Arteta the same way as Moyes did at Everton but apparently Wenger had different idea in BRINGING out the BEST of a PLAYER's quality and has nailed Arteta to that defensive role which I think has worked well with Wenger's plan. Obviously it has brought more balance to the squad; Arsenal still play beautiful attacking footbal but with Arteta in the side, the defensive part is not neglected and is sorted out. In Arteta and Cazorla, Alex Song is yet to ...
![]() Hitzlsperger's chances improve Marouane Fellaini's knee injury could prompt David Moyes to make a swift decision on the future of Thomas Hitzlsperger. Hitzlsperger, a former Germany international midfielder, has been on trial at Finch Farm for the past month having been released by Bundesliga side Wolfsburg during the summer. As a free agent, Everton are permitted to sign the 30-year-old outside the Transfer Window. Moyes has previously suggested that he would know more about Hitzlsperger's fitness following the current international break. And Fellaini's injury will now come into Moyes's consideration when debating whether to keep Hitzlsperger. With Darron Gibson, sidelined since September 1 with a thigh problem, also struggling to be available for the derby, Moyes is short of cover in central midfield. Ross Barkley, whose initial one-month loan spell at Sheffield Wednesday expires this week, is also an option.

![]() Moyes bullish over Fellaini future 16 September 2012 Everton manager David Moyes insists his club are in a 'strong position' to retain the services of Marouane Fellaini. Manchester United and Real Madrid have been lined with the 24-year-old Belgian attacker, who has made an impressive start to the English Premier League season. Fellaini fuelled speculation of his possible departure from Everton when he recently said that the current campaign would be his last at Goodison Park. "Whatever happens now, whatever Fellaini says, he is here for at least the next four months," Moyes told The Sunday Mirror. "He might be here even longer than that, I don't know. "I have got no problem if other clubs start circling for my players. None at all. "What I do know is that they can't come in and take any of my players until January and we are only in September. "What I do know for certain, though, is that Fellaini has got a five-year contract here. "So clubs can circle, but the window has just shut, and we're in a strong ...

![]() Everton baffled by shock Fellaini transfer claims Everton management are shocked by Marouane Fellaini's exit claims yesterday. The Liverpool Echo says officials were today baffled and dismayed by Fellaini’s reported admission in a Belgian newspaper that he wants to leave next summer. The 24-year-old is even understood to have said he would be open to departing in January, during a press conference after training with his national side in Anderlecht on Saturday. Fellaini, who only last November signed a five-year contract which made him Everton’s highest earner on £75,000-per-week, apparently has his heart set on a move despite his current club’s impressive start to the Premier League season. It is likely David Moyes will ask the midfielder to explain his remarks when he reports back to Finch Farm for training later this week, following Belgium’s clash with Croatia in Brussels on Tuesday. My take There's no stopping Felliani, it's just a matter of time.

![]() Marouane Fellaini Shines With Physical and Technical Combination -RSI (c) Soccer has evolved, and the voices speaking of its effect in English soccer have been resounding. Several pundits have been saying of late that the English game, which is traditionally known for its physical approach, is becoming more technical and less physical thanks to the revolutionary role played by teams like Barca In Particular They will Have possession More Than Any team No matter What. Even Real Madrid Knows It. Teams such as Manchester City, Arsenal and Liverpool now try to play more proactive football with a lesser direct approach. And question marks are now being raised over the place of an Andy Carroll in the team. But Everton manager David Moyes thought otherwise when the Toffees faced a Manchester United side last night where returning captain Nemanja Vidic and midfielder Michael Carrick were entrusted with the central defensive duties. The Scotsman deployed the sturdy Marouane Fellaini in the hole behind Nikica Jelav ...
![]() Manchester United made a losing start to the Premier League season Monday, crashing to a 1-0 defeat at Everton as Robin Van Persie endured a dismal debut. Marouane Fellaini capped an impressive performance by heading in a corner from former United midfielder Darron Gibson in the 57th minute. "I don't think anybody tonight was considering Everton at all," Everton manager David Moyes told Sky Sports television. "A lot of people forgot Everton aren't a bad team, and Goodison is a difficult place to come and win." Tom Cleverley came closest to levelling for last season's runners up, but his shot was cleared off the line by Everton defender Phil Jagielka. Signing Van Persie from Arsenal last week was meant to provide the additional firepower the 19-time champions need to regain the Premier League title from rivals Manchester City. But the Netherlands striker, who cost a reported 24 million pounds ($38 million), failed to even hit the target after coming off the bench in the 68th. It was the first time Alex Fer ...

![]() Everton stun Man United 20 minutes ago Liverpool - Robin Van Persie's Manchester United debut ended in disappointment as Marouane Fellaini gave Everton a 1-0 win at Goodison Park on Monday. Van Persie came off the bench for the last 22 minutes as United searched for an equaliser after Belgian midfielder Fellaini headed Everton into a second half lead. But the Dutch forward, signed from Arsenal for £24m last week, was unable to make an immediate impact for his new club and Everton held on for a well deserved win in their opening Premier League game of the season. United goalkeeper David de Gea endured some difficult moments last season, but the young Spaniard made a series of superb saves to deny Steven Pienaar, Leighton Baines and Leon Osman in the first half. David Moyes's side also hit the woodwork through Fellaini and Osman, but Everton's pressure finally paid off in the 57th minute. With Rio Ferdinand ruled out with a groin injury suffered at the weekend and fellow defenders Phil Jones and Chris Smal ...

CHELSEA are ready to make a stunning £32million raid on Everton. The Champions League finalists want two midfielders from Goodison - Belgium's Marouane Fellaini and England prospect Ross Barkley. They are prepared to pay £22m for Fellaini, 24, who signed a five-year contract at Goodison five months ago. Fellaini is Everton's record signing at £15m from Standard Liege. And Chelsea would also sign Barkley, 18, for £10m and then loan him back to Everton if Goodison boss David Moyes would agree to the deal. The proposed double swoop comes hot on the heels of the news that Chelsea have already agreed to sign Germany midfielder Marko Marin, 23, from Werder Bremen.
