I had the opportunity to showcase my idea for "Charlie and Marilyn" today in film and I didn't because I got too scared to describe it to the people in my class. The pitch for the movie was that Charlie Chaplin has just recently died and had to wait in a train station in limbo. In order to move on, he has to share his life with a kindred spirit. That spirit is Marilyn Monroe (she died in 1968 while he died in 1977). The movie essentially talks about their lives, their losses and what it takes to let go while also giving the audience a chance to see Charlie teach Marilyn how to walk like the Tramp and Marilyn laughing as Charlie redoes her famous stunt in a "Seven Year Itch". I don't how it sounds. What do you think?

Marilyn Monroe wore a white dress in the 1955 film The Seven Year Itch, directed by Billy Wilder. The dress was created by costume designer William Travilla and was worn in one of the best-known scenes in the movie.[1] The dress is regarded as an icon of film history and the image of Monroe in the white dress standing above a subway grating blowing the dress up has been described as one of the iconic images of the 20th century (From Wikipedia)

Last night we saw The Seven Year Itch downtown, which despite the efforts of a valiant cast is just semi-sleazy Dinner Theater from the Eisenhower era. Today I watched the movie, which is just about as bad... except for Marilyn Monroe, who strides through it untouched and triumphant like a goddess.
The Seven Year Itch. Puzzled why Billy Wilder films a three-act play in CinemaScope, and then Marilyn Monroe appears. Wow.
Just watched the movie 'The Seven Year Itch' : Just amazing- the simple, realistic yet beautiful story - the gorgeous, cute and most beautiful Marilyn Monroe and her cute acting - the Tom Ewell's lead character - last but not least, Monroe's white dress blowing sequence at subway gate. you could see a lot of home appliances of 1955's America!I should say it's a 'must watch' still after this many years.

Today is the 50th anniversary of the passing of screen legend, Marilyn Monroe, she was an American actress, model, and singer, who became a major sex symbol, starring in a number of commercially successful motion pictures during the 1950s and early 1960s. I enjoyed her films especially as Gentlemen Prefer Blondes (1953), How to Marry a Millionaire (1953) and The Seven Year Itch (1955). She received a Golden Globe Award for her performance in Some Like It Hot (1959). Monroe's last completed film was The Misfits, co-starring Clark Gable with screenplay by her then-husband, Arthur Miller, she will be remembered for the years to come in the distant future, she will be missed!

Marilyn Monroe Blond bombshell found dead in Los Angeles home Probably the most celebrated of all actresses, Marilyn Monroe was born Norma Jean Mortenson on June 1, 1926, in Los Angeles General Hospital. Thirty-six years later, on August 5, 1962, her housekeeper found her dead body, nude and lying face down on her bed, apparently the victim of an overdose of sedatives. She made only 30 films in her lifetime, but her legendary status and mysticism will remain with film history forever. Abandoned by her father, she grew up in poverty with her mentally-ill mother who had a series of relationships, further confusing her daughter as to who it was who fathered her. In 1942, at the age of 16, Norma Jean married 21-year-old aircraft plant worker James Dougherty. The marriage only lasted four years, and they divorced in 1946. By this time Marilyn began to model swimsuits and bleached her hair blond. Bit parts in the movies followed but movie fans remembered her ditzy but very sexy blonde performance. In 1951, Mari ...

The iconic shot of Marilyn Monroe. I would have liked to see the updraft lift Tom Ewell's hat straight off his head and him reach up and pull it back down as he looked on admiringly, kind of like an old Looney Tunes cartoon wolf or something-- nyahh, hands in the pockets are more suggestive.
I can't believe Marilyn Monroe (Norma Jeane Mortenson) has been gone for 50 years! Still love the movies even though Leah would say I am not allowed to watch 'The Seven Year Itch' ever again...

sitting here watching The Seven Year Itch and im in awe of Marilyn Monroe ! Its crazy how much the perception of sex appeal has changed so much ! This woman had men breaking their necks, yet her titties werent hanging here and there, *** wasnt out and she wasnt even showing any midriff. Its merely the way she carried herself that exuded a sex appeal that no man could resist. Its crazy how girls these days have to dress like some two dollar tramp, stiff *** weaves down their back and wear heels they cant even walk in to get attention. Yall need to take a note from Marilyn, its not the clothes, its the woman underneath.
Marilyn Monroe is fabulous in The Seven Year Itch but Tom Ewell's character is severely annoying -___-
"I like hanging around married men because there's no way they can ask you to marry them" -Marilyn Monroe (in the seven year itch)
Since today is Marilyn Monroe's birthday, I'm going to lay down and watch Seven Year Itch(:
Im watching 'Seven Year Itch' stating Marilyn Monroe and I swear she has a sex face the whole movie. I need to practice that.
I was always so inspired by Marilyn Monroe. She became an American Icon portraying the ultimate "dumb blonde bombshell". She was so good at it that she made a career out of it. She was a perfectionist. I learned at an early age how affective it was. At the same time I have a pair of large feet to stay two steps ahead of the men. "Can you help me? Some men are following me." Happy Birhtday to Marilyn Monroe! I propose a toast of dipping potatoe chips in champagne (a scene in "The Seven Year Itch"). Let us all celebrate life today! XOXO Sookie Simone
