Stage Three of Le Tour De France which today finished in London on The Mall, Well done to Marcel Kittel, Again, for his second win in three days, and another day in yellow for the Italian Champion Vincenzo Nibali.
A flat 155km stage 3 began with an escape which lasted until 5.7 km from the finish on The Mall. There commenced the normal jockeying for the final sprint during which the Giant Shimano boys noticed that stage 1 winner Marcel Kittel was somewhere at the back of the peloton. After a bit of frantic rushing about he was found and repatriated in time for the final sprint where he proved to be unbeatable. Cycling | Tour de France 'Buckingham Palace finish close to Champs Elysees' 07 July 2014, 19:38 Sprint king Marcel Kittel said winning a Tour de France stage in front of Buckingham Palace was almost as good as winning one on the Champs Elysees. It was his sixth Tour stage win in the last two editions and among those he won on the Champs Elysees in Paris in the final stage of last year's race. "It came pretty close to the Champs Elysees, I'm pretty sad that we'll finish only once here because it's a great atmosphere by the side of the road. It was one of the greatest finishes I've ever seen because of this great scenery," said Kittel. Mark Cavendish went down in a late crash. Marcel Kittel's hands went up in victory. And British royals who turned out for the Tour de France debut in England witnessed new signs of a changing of the guard among two of the world's top sprinters.
I was pulling for Mark Cavendish today for the first time ever. It would have been nice for him to win in his Mother's home town where he spent much of his childhood in front of all his family and in front of Prince William, Kate and Prince Harry. Also It would have been the first time he would have ever worn the Yellow Jersey and probably his last chance. But the crash he had was totally his fault. But If Peter Sagan couldn't get the win either I don't mind Marcel Kittel winning. I like him as well.

Mark Cavendish (Omega Pharma-QuickStep) has acknowledged that his status as cycling’s pre-eminent sprinter has been placed under threat by the rise of riders such as Marcel Kittel, who won four stages to the Manxman’s two at this year’s Tour de France. At 28 years of age, Cavendish is approaching what ought to be his athletic prime but he suggested that he is now lacking the natural explosiveness of his youth. His winter preparation will feature more speed training than ever before as he prepares to prove he is still the best sprinter in the world. “I feel that I’m getting older,” Cavendish told The Telegraph. “I don’t have the punch. I have to work on my sprint now, which I didn’t have to do before.” In the revealing interview, Cavendish downplayed the idea – once floated by directeur sportif Brian Holm – that anger served as a motivational force. He did, however, admit that he will approach the 2014 season motivated by the need to prove a point and fend off the threat posed by Ki ...

Froome will start last in tommorrow's 33km Time Trial. Martin and Contador hope to improve their position in the TT. Sagan still wears the Green, Rolland the Polka Dot, and Quintana is in the White.
The Tour finished in St Malo today and like Mr Cavendish I also had a bit of an incident on a bike in that town many years ago. His incident involved racing lines and leaning in, mine involved a roundabouts and to much speed.Mr Cavendish had post race hand bags at dawn with the journalists, even pinching a recording machine off one of them, a bit childish if you ask me. The race was won by the man from Argos in blue shoes Marcel Kittel who beat Sagan and The Gorilla in the sprint to the line. Respect to the 5 and then 4 men who stayed away for 191 km only to be swept aside by a peloton intent on delivering sprinters to the line. Tomorrow it is the Lycra Fest which will be disguised as an Individual TT. Sleep tight my friends Love The Tour Bore Xx
The 197klm flat sprint Stage 10 of the Tour De France has been won by German, Marcel Kittel from Team Argos-Shimano in photo from Andre Greipel. In the sprint finish a bad crash almost brought down Orica-GreenEdge rider Mattew Goss I can not believe he stayed upright this incident certaily blew his chance. Mark Cavendish was also involved (he hit his team mates wheel who came down heavily) nasty stuff. Cadell Evans finished in 21st Place and remains 16th outright 4.36 behind leader Christopher Froome Team Sky ProCycling. The next stage is the 36.2 klm Individual Time Trial and I am confident Cadell and some members of Orica GreenEdge will dig deep and perform very well. Lets hope Cadell can drag back some time on Christopher Froome.

Latest Sports News: VIDEO: I followed the road - Cavendish - Britain's Mark Cavendish says he "followed the road" after a collision with fellow sprinter Tom Veelers as Germany's Marcel Kittel wins stage 10 of the Tour de France.
Kittel ahead of Greipel in a sprint of the Germans After the excitement of the ninth stage and a day of rest, it was back to racing in the 100th Tour de France. The day was categorised as 'flat' and a bunch sprint was predicted... and that's just what unfolded in St-Malo at the end of 197km of racing. 'The Break' was composed of five men but they never really stood a chance of holding off the charge of a peloton that had been controlled by Argos-Shimano, Lotto-Belisol and Omega Pharma-Quickstep riders who were intent on ensuring that this day on the northern coastline of Brittany ended they way they had planned. With the lead-out duties done, it was time for the sprint to open up inside the final kilometre but that's when Argos-Shimano threw a spanner in the works of the sprinters' teams with a crash in the closing metres of the race. One of Marcel Kittel's lead-out men, Tom Veelers, looked right, then left to see where his sprinter was and he bumped shoulders with Mark Cavendish and thumped onto the tarm ...
The golden run continues for Orica-Greenedge as South African Daryl Impey becomes his countries first rider to take the yellow jersey when he took the coveted maillot jaune from Simon Gerrans after stage 6 which was won by German Andre Greipel (Lotto-Belisol). Greipel won from Peter Sagan and first stage winner Marcel Kittel, Impey and Tassies Matty Goss were in the 16 strong bunch finish and finished with the same time. Gerrans slipped to 3rd overall 2 seconds behind Norways Edvald Boasson Hagen (Sky) who is 3 seconds behind Impey. Michael Albisini is 4th giving Orica-Greenedge 3 of the top 4 placings. Tasmanian Richie Porte (Sky) is in 8th with he and his race favourite team mate Chris Froome just 8 seconds off the lead as they head to the hills with the highest climb thus far, a cat 2 in tonights stage 7.
Congrats to Marcel Kittel on being the first in yellow. Cyclists are tough so we hope to see everyone back on the bike tomorrow after a good night's rest!

Who do I want to do well in the Tour de France? Marcel Kittel, Mark Cavendish, Peter Sagan and anyone from Columbia! (Miss Uran and Henao! )
Team Argos-Shimano has the luxury of having two successful sprinters in its team, and will take both of them to the Tour de France . For many, that would be an almost impossible situation to manage, but John Degenkolb doesn't see any conflict at all with Marcel Kittel. "It's actually pretty simple," he said at the team's Tour de France presentation event, according to NuSports.nl. “We are both sprinters, but we are not the same type of sprinter. Marcel is a sprinter who does well in the flat stages, while I prefer the hilly stages, with finals like the classics.” They will decide each sprint stage who is “on” for the day. Kittel will have the first chance. “We will ride during the first stage for Kittel. That is Marcel's day. He has a good chance for the yellow,” Degenkolb confirmed. Degenkolb said that he has no problems helping his teammate. "If I know I can't beat Mark Cavendish in a sprint why should I not help Marcel? In a stage that is more fitted to me, he will also do that for me. Marc ...
