(SportsNetwork.com) - The surging San Antonio Spurs are back in the Alamo City and will put their nine-game winning streak on the line Saturday versus the Cleveland Cavaliers at the AT&T Center. The Spurs made it nine straight wins with Friday's 102-86 drubbing of the Memphis Grizzlies at FedExForum. Tony Parker scored 20 points, Tiago Splitter added 17 and Manu Ginobili netted 15 points for San Antonio, which shot 53.2 percent. Parker scored 11 points in the fourth quarter. San Antonio survived a furious rally by the Grizzlies for its fifth straight win on the road. "They made a run like we expected them to. This is the NBA. That's how it works," said Spurs power forward Tim Duncan. "We kept our composure and made some plays at the right time." Duncan ended with eight points and six assists, while Kawhi Leonard had 12 points and nine rebounds for the Spurs. The Spurs are 11-1, tying the team record for their best start through 12 games. They were 11-1 in 2010-11. The Spurs will also host New Orleans on t ...
Parker leads Spurs to 92-79 win over Wizards November 13, 2013 San Antonio -- The open shots that fell so easily for the San Antonio Spurs in the first half were bouncing off the rim and the collapsing defense was suddenly on top of them. San Antonio was out of energy and emotion, which is usually when coach Gregg Popovich turns to Manu Ginobili for a boost. Ginobili is no longer the only player giving the Spurs a jolt of enthusiasm and showmanship off the bench. Six Spurs scored in double figures, led by Tony Parker with 16 points, and San Antonio never trailed in strolling to a 92-79 victory over the Washington Wizards on Wednesday Night. Boris Diaw had 15 points, Kawhi Leonard added 13 points, and Ginobili and Marco Belinelli each had 10 for San Antonio, which has trailed for only 11 seconds in its last four games. Tiago Splitter had 12 points and nine rebounds. Martell Webster scored 21 points, Bradley Beal added 19 points and John Wall had 14 points and eight assists for Washington, which has lost th ...
Today, when the Spurs went to the bench, they came back with Manu Ginobili, Kawhi Leonard + Tiago Splitter. Decent depth.
Had a great time going to Portland to watch the Spurs play. Unfortunately, the Spurs lost. However, got a picture of Manu Ginobili warming up and also got autographs by LaMarcus Alderidge of the Blazers, Matt Bonner, and Tiago Splitter of the Spurs!
Chris Mendez, Victor Drew Jimenez The San Antonio Spurs, were without Tim Duncan, the LA Lakers were without Kobe Bryant first time since 1996 that these two teams were playing a game without the key franchises players of there respective teams. Tony Parker scores 24 points and dishes out 6 assists, Manu Ginobili scores 20 points and buries three 3-pointers, as the Spurs knocked off the LA Lakers 91-85. If San Antonio wanted to win this key road game, they were going to need there other superstars players and role players to step up and guided this team to victory. Well Tony Parker as the best player of the team was absolutely sensational throughout the entire game. Parker started out very well in the 1st period, scoring 6 points in a variety of different ways, he scored a bucket inside, he also knock down two outside jumpers, he made it extremely difficult for the Lakers defense to do anything to stop him all game long. He even had a good pass to a wide-open Kawhi Leonard from the jumper. Parker continue ...
LOS ANGELES (AP) -- GO SPURS GO ! Although the Spurs and the Lakers hadn't played a game without Tim Duncan or Kobe Bryant on the court in 17 years, Tony Parker and Manu Ginobili haven't gone anywhere. And even without Duncan, San Antonio is still doing the same boring stuff with the same stellar results. Parker had 24 points and six assists, Kawhi Leonard added 15 points and 11 rebounds, and the Spurs survived without Duncan for a 91-85 victory over Los Angeles on Friday night. Duncan sat out after bruising his chest in Wednesday's season-opening victory over Memphis, but Spurs coach Gregg Popovich promised his defending Western Conference champions would do the ''same boring stuff'' even without their franchise cornerstone since 1997. That's exactly what the Spurs did, recovering from an early 15-point deficit and executing well in the final minutes while the new-look Lakers faltered against the club that swept them out of the first round of last spring's playoffs. ''We had a rough start, but in the sec ...

You know I just looked at the top 20 NBA free Agents Chris Paul,Dwight Howard,Andrew Bynum,Joe Smith,Paul Millsap,Andre Iguodala,David West,Al Jefferson,Manu Ginobili,J.R. Smith,Jeff Teague,Brandon Jennings,Tyreke Evans,Oj Mayo,Monta Ellis,Nikola Pekovic,Kevin Martin,Jose Calderon,Tiago Splitter,Nate Robinson. Now all you Houston Rockets fans tell me in your opinion who you would try to get. Mine would be forget Howard and bring some explosiveness to the Rockets and ill name my top five and why.First Andre Iguodala,he has great defense and he led Denver last year with his shooting and power, two Andrew Bynum I know he was hurt but I have a feeling he will be back to his best again this year inside the paint and he is great off the boards, three Nikola Pekovic that guy just constantly will not stop to get the job done and he is a fighter off the boards, fourth David West he wants to win a NBA title and will help take the load off Harden with him.Final but not least it's a toss up out of Joe Smith or Nate Robin ...
Heyyy Spurs fans! Question: Do you think this is a plausible off-season scenario? Manu Ginobili is let go; not necessarily because the Spurs don't want him, but because they can't afford to pay both him and Tiago Splitter for next year. Manu is aging, he's getting a little more volatile in his play, and Splitter is very up and coming. Also, as much as I would like to see the core of the Spurs (Tim, Manu, Tony) stay together, I just find that it might be harder to do this off-season, especially compared to the rest of their careers. NOT SAYING I WOULD LIKE THIS TO HAPPEN. I just see it as a decision that could be made by the Spurs' front office over the summer. In fact, it could be one of the top 3 or 4 ways that the off-season goes for them. Manu is unfortunately releasable. Danny Green is fresh and consistent, Gary Neal can provide spark, and the guard prospects in this year's draft are DEEP (which can only mean the Spurs will take as much advantage as they possibly can with the 29th pick in this year's ...
Odds & Ends: Spurs, Heat, Cavs, Eliyahu, White For as compelling as the Finals were, it's a shame that we almost certainly won't see the Heat and Spurs clash again next season without at least a few changes to their rosters. Jeff Mcdonald of the San Antonio Express-News tackles a half dozen key questions for the Spurs amid uncertainty for soon-to-be free agents Manu Ginobili, Tiago Splitter and Gary Neal. In a separate piece, McDonald examines the prospects each Spurs player has of sticking around. I examined the offseason ahead for the Heat earlier today, and Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel follows with a look at what it will cost to keep each player on the Miami roster. The only constant in the NBA is change, and here's the latest on the league's comings and goings: As expected, the Cavaliers met with both Nerlens Noel and Alex Len this week, as Bob Finnan of The News-Herald confirms amongst his league roundup. Jason Lloyd of the Akron Beacon Journal, who argues that Otto Porter should g ...
The Miami Heat should give both Tiago Splitter and Manu Ginobili a ring for helping them win the title.
Breaking down the NBA Finals teams. San Antonio Spurs Tim Duncan - The best power forward to ever play the game. Fundamentals are off the charts. 1 year left sadly Tony Parker - The best at switching speeds up n down the floor. Underated by many for absolutely no reason. Tear drops everywhere. 1-3 yrs left. Manu Ginobili - many call him a flopper, ugly bball style that works, and anybody would love to have a player like that on their team. Maybe 1 yr left. Kawhi Leonard - budding star just learning the offensive game, defensive stalwart, and the perfect Spur. Danny Green - Streaky shooter from downtown, pretty good d, and stumbles majorly during pressure. Tiago Splitter - soft euro player who can make a basket once in awhile. He makes Pau look great. Gary Neal - nails wide open jump shots Cory Joseph - young mediocre backup pg still learning the game Matt Bonner - big guy w three point shot just like Matt Bullard from the Rockets back in the 90s.
Tony Parker,Tim Duncan,Manu Ginobili, Kawhi Leonard, Tiago Splitter,Danny Green,Matt Bonner,Gary Neal and the rest of Spurs heck of a game my hat goes off to yall you gave Miami a run for its money. NBA Champs Miami Heat

I know what I’ve got to do, I’ve got to a player smarter & stronger.” Parker said if it were regular season, he'd be sitting out 10 days to prevent further injury. Game 1 of the NBA Finals: San Antonio beat Miami 92-88 on their own home court despite LeBron's 3rd-career triple-double in the Finals (18 points, 18 rebounds, 10 assists). Dwayne Wade had 18, while Chris Bosh and Ray Allen scored 13 each. Tony Parker (21 points, 6 assists) hit the shot of the night, banking it in to barely to beat the shot clock with 5.2 seconds left in the game. Kawhi Leonard had a double-double with 10 points and rebounds. Tim Duncan picked up 2 fouls and missed all 5 of his shots in the 1st quarter, but he still ended the game strong and showed us why he's one of the NBA's all-time greats, also contributing a double-double (20 points, 14 rebounds) in the win. Duncan also became the 4th player in NBA history to make a Finals appearance in 3 different decades (Elgin Baylor, A.C. Green, John Salley). Danny Green had 12 on 4-9 shots from 3-point range, while Manu Ginobili had 13 off the bench. 11 of the Spurs' 15 players made their 1st-ever appearance in the championship series (Aron Bayn ...
NBA FINALS DERBY San Antonio Spurs v Miami Heat IN [American Airlines Arena, Miami Florida, Friday June] which one will win this match as big three v big three? LeBron James, Chris Bosh, Danny Green, Kawhi Leonard, Dwayne Wale and Udonis Haslem Vs Tonny Parker, Tim Duncan,Manu Ginobili, Tiago Splitter and Gregg Popovich. Who will be the MVP? (Gerald).
It’s game one of the NBA Finals on ABC 15, with the Miami Heat holding home court advantage. Games one and two will be in Miami, along with games six and seven. The Spurs will host the middle three games of the series. It’s the battle of the BIG THREE’s: Miami’s LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh versus San Antonio’s Tim Duncan, Tony Parker and Manu Ginobili. The Spurs Big Three definitely hold the edge in experience: Tim Duncan is now 37 years old, Tony Parker is 31 and Manu Ginobili is 35. The Heat’s three: Although it seems as though he’s been in the league forever, LeBron is just 28, Dwyane Wade is the old man of the group at 31 while Chris Bosh is 29. Statistically, these two teams are pretty evenly matched: Miami finished the regular season as the number one ranked team in Offensive Efficiency while San Antonio was ranked number four in Defensive Efficiency. Both teams are in the top five in three point shooting percentage and are virtually deadlocked when it comes to three point ...
