Oklahoma City (AP) -- When asked about the oldie-but-goodie San Antonio Spurs, Oklahoma City's Kevin Durant inquired about Tony Parker's age. "Thirty-two," a reporter answered. "He is old," Durant quipped, drawing laughter. "He doesn't play like he's 32 years old." Tim Duncan and Manu Ginobili are even older. Duncan just turned 38 and Ginobili is approaching 37. The trio won its first NBA title together in 2003 and fought back Father Time to reach the NBA Finals last year. They will play in their seventh Western Conference Finals together, starting with Game 1 Monday night in San Antonio. Durant, the league's MVP, said there's more to San Antonio's success than some mythical fountain of youth. It starts with the genius of Gregg Popovich, the league's Coach of the Year. "Their system, they plug guys in and out," Durant said. "They always stick to their same system. They get guys who fit. And they've got a great coach who gets those guys prepared." Even with an aging core and numerous injuries throughout th ...
Griffin had 21 points, 11 rebounds and eight assists on his 25th birthday as the Los Angeles Clippers held off the Cleveland Cavaliers 102-80 Sunday for their 11th consecutive victory. Chris Paul had 15 assists and scored 11 of his 16 points in the final 6:04 for the Clippers, who haven’t lost since Feb. 21. Los Angeles matched the longest winning streak in the NBA this season, equalling 11-game runs in November by Portland and San Antonio.“This stretch of games that we’ve played and we’ve been successful, has been a huge team effort,” Griffin said. “With our team, I don’t think it’s one guy that’s making us go. I genuinely believe it’s been a total team effort.” The San Antonio Spurs kept their own win streak alive, topping the Utah Jazz 122-104 for their 10th straight victory.Argentine star Manu Ginobili scored 21 points, Tony Parker had 18 points and Tim Duncan 16 for the Spurs (50-16), who became the first NBA team to 50 wins this season. The Western Conference-leading Spurs shot ...
BREAKING NEWS: KCN is releasing the reason as to why former All-Star center Andrew Bynum was suspended and placed on the trade block by the Cavaliers. An inside and anonymous source told us "He is impossible to play with. I'm the star PG of this team and this guy is like Chris Bosh. He *** " Yes, the source is Earl Clark. The real reason Bynum was suspended is that the charges of murder of the beloved GOAT Will Bynum have come up again. For those of you who remember the original story, he was found innocent and the suspects were: -Manu Ginobili -Skip Bayless -Kevin Durant (not so nice anymore presented by NIKE) Manu was cleared because NBA Finals tape showed him bricking shots at the time of the murder. Kevin Durant who isnt the nice guy anymore seemed like the obvious convict. Remember, he and bynum were former teammates on the Charlotte Bobcats before Bynum was released and Durant was traded for a 3rd round Pick. Skip Bayless is still under suspicion because if youve ever seen First Take, you would kn . ...
The NBA 2013-14 season is just around the corner! Here's a Western Conference preview! 1.Golden State Warriors Splash Brothers aka Stephan Curry and Klay Thompson may be the best deep threat duo on the same team. With the addition of Andre Iguodala and a healthy David Lee and Andrew Bogut this team could take the next step to greatness! Mark Jackson is a top 3 coach in the entire NBA! 2. San Antonio Spurs Led by the best coach in the NBA Gregg Popovich! You can never count out the aging Spurs! Tony Parker, Manu Ginobili and Tim Duncan are a top 3 trio in the league! 3. Oklahoma City Thunder With the Russell Westbrook season ending injury in the playoffs it crippled this team. Look for a mostly healthy Westbrook, Kevin Durant and Surge Ibaka to lead by example! Probably wishing a bearded superstar was still on their roster! James Harden sighting anyone? 4. LOS ANGELES CLIPPERS New Head Coach Doc Rivers may lead this team very deep in the playoffs! Chris Paul and Blake Griffin are the best players on the te ...

Bye bye Memphis Grizzlies. Obviously ESPN was thinking of the San Antonio Spurs were too old to compete because they had no confidence in them. They had a commercial promoting this mediocre team "The Memphis Grizzlies are only one step away from their first NBA Championship appearance" I mean all they have to do is beat the Spurs with Tony Parker, Tim Duncan , and Manu Ginobili. All 3 of them are 4 time champions! Results.4 game sweep!! Somebody needs to tell the commissioner David Stern that Zach Randolph and Marc Gasol are not the future of his league. Zach Randolph is just another Charles Barkley (0 rings) and the only reason why anybody cares about Marc Gasol is because of his last name. 2 time champion Pau Gasol (aka "The Good Gasol") plays for the Lakers. Take note commish, the real rising stars and the future of this league consists of players like Blake Griffin, Kevin Durant, Derrick Rose, Deron Williams, and Brook Lopez. Now those guys you can put stock into!
WEST: [1] OKC Thunder vs Memphis Grizzlies. I give the Grizzlies the edge due to Zach Randolph and Marc Gasol's domination on the paint. I don't think Serge Ibaka's shot-blocking prowess is enough to contain either. Thunder's other big man, Kendrick Perkins, is all intense looks, less production (defense or offense). Yet still, there's no one in OKC's roster who could make up for Russell Westbrook's absence. Kevin Martin is a shooter, not a playmaker. Memphis' Mike Conley will control the series, no doubt. Doesn't matter if Kevin Durant scores 30+ each time out... It's a team game and the Grizz, with no legit superstar, have proven that time and again. [2] San Antonio Spurs vs Golden State Warriors. On account of their proven cohesiveness and playoff experience, the Spurs—starring (its less hyped, much ignored but most effective trio of) Tim Duncan, Tony Parker and Manu Ginobili and an able batch of back-ups—will dominate this series. The Warriors may escape with one (or two) win but even if David Lee ...
The ENBA Morning News: - Coach Tom Thibodeau officially says Joakim Noah (foot) is out vs. Pacers today. - Pacers George Hill (shoulder) questionable vs. Bulls today. - Suns Michael Beasley was arrested cited and released on Jan 29th in Scottsdale for criminal speeding and driving with a suspended license. - Chris Paul (bone bruise on knee, LAC) is out again tonight vs Wizards. Paul has missed 7 straight games. - Carlos Delfino (HOU) is day-to-day with a strained right elbow. He is a game-time decision for tomorrow. - Tim Duncan (knee, ankle) was taking shots in practice today. Good signs for Spurs fans. However, Manu Ginobili is doubtful for Thursday's game vs the T-wolves with tightness in his left hamstring. - ermaine O'Neal will return Wednesday at Memphis after missing last 7 games with irregular heartbeat. - Jose Calderon has been cleared to play today and is expected to be in uniform vs. the Knicks. - Kevin Durant (ribs) is a game-time decision today vs the Mavs. - Wolves forward Lou Amundson said ...
Who is your top 10 Power Rankings here's mine with a side note 1. LA Clippers - Even without their best play maker they find ways to win. 2. Oklahoma City Thunder - It appears with Kevin Martin going cold, Kevin Durant has picked up the scoring slack averaging 34 ppg in the Thunders last 5 3. San Antonio - Yet again the Spurs fine themselves as a top 3 team in NBA, Manu Ginobili has gotten injured, and they just plug someone right in his shoes as if he was never hurt. 4. Miami - Miami has been a little inconsistent as of late, but they aint got no worries until the playoffs. 5. Memphis - Its hard to believe Memphis has been struggling finding ways to score with the best starting 5 in the NBA, after a fast start to the season. 6. Knicks - Many people will disagree with the Knicks being this low but they live and die by the 3, however once Raymond Felton comes back he will ultimately be a huge part to their success. 7. Golden State - One of the biggest surprises to the season, Marc Jackson has them playing ...
Been a while, but i made some Power Rankings, 1 Clippers As has been the case for much of the past decade, the best team in LA is also the best in the entire league. No one has more fun playing together. And man, aren't those Blake Griffin commercials great? 2 Thunder A loss to the Wizards will usually drop you in rankings (just ask the Heat). But at least Kevin Durant has pledged not to get thrown out anymore. That means the Thunder have a chance to beat anyone, anywhere, anytime. 3 Heat The Heat are playing like most defending champions. They get bored enough to lose to an occasional inferior opponent but are still great enough to know it's too early to worry about it. 4 Spurs As usual, the age of their best players (Tim Duncan, Manu Ginobili, etc.) makes Spurs vulnerable. But as usual, precision and discipline make them true title contenders. 5 Grizzlies Who knows if all those Rudy *** trade rumors are true. Like most very good things about the Grizzlies, they inexplicably were pretty much ignored. 6 K ...
First game on this seven game evening was the Washington Wizards against the Oklahoma City Thunder. This game was very close, it came down to the final seconds. Bradley Beal had to hit a clutch game winner to beat the Thunder, 101-99. Kevin Durant and Serge Ibaka led the Thunder. Kevin had 29 points, 7 rebounds, 8 assists and 3 steals. Serge had 26 points, 11 rebounds, 1 assist and 2 blocks. Martell Webster and Bradley Beal led the Wizards. Martell had 22 points,4 rebounds, 2 assists,1 block and 1 steal. Bradley had 22 points,5 rebounds, 4 assists and 1 steal. The Wizards advance to 5-28 and the Thunder fall to 26-8. Second game was the Boston Celtics against the New York Knicks. This was a surprise game, as the Celtics were without one of their stars, Rajon Rondo. They still pulled off the win, score being 102-96. Carmelo Anthony and JR Smith led the Knicks. Carmelo had 20 points, 3 rebounds, 5 assists and 1 steal. JR had 24 points, 3 rebounds, 4 assists, 1 block and 2 steals. Kevin Garnett and Paul Pier ...
Tim Duncan, Tony Parker, Manu Ginobili, James, & Kevin Durant are "My" top 5 players in the NBA
I was inspired to do my own version of this by a fellow admin. Here are my picks for the league's awards: Most Valuable Player: 1. Lebron James 2. Kevin Durant 3. Kevin Love (Depending on how Timberwolves do) Rookie of the Year: 1. Anthony Davis 2. Damian Lillard 3. Bradley Beal Most Improved Player: 1.Javale Mcgee 2. Andrew Bynum 3. Josh Selby Defensive Player of the Year: 1. Dwight Howard 2. Serge Ibaka 3. Tyson Chandler Sixth Man of the Year: 1. James Harden 2. Manu Ginobili 3. Andre Miller Coach of the Year: 1. Doug Collins 2. Mike Woodson 3. Mike Brown NBA Champion: 1. Heat (They are the Champs, have to be favorite) 2. Thunder (Pending core players improvement from Olympics) 3. Lakers (Could win, depending on team chemistry) 4. Bulls ( we have to see how D.rose Do ) Comment whether you agree or not. Also, comment your own opinions! Openly debatable!
Gold medalists Lebron James and Kevin Durant represent Team USA on the All-Olympics team. Tony Parker, Pau Gasol, Marc Gasol, Manu Ginobili and Luis Scola fight for the other three spots.Wi
"Kevin Durant: 153 points this Olympics.. Manu Ginobili (155) leads all players in total points."
just noticed that Olympic basketball officials are a lot less biased than NBA officials. Team USA had around 5-7 travelling calls in their game against Argentina today, no superstar immunity treatment. Team USA won 86-80, Manu Ginobili led all scorers for Argentina with 23, Kevin Durant shot 7 three pointers, scoring 29 points for the Americans.
In the USA's win, Kevin Durant sank 7-of-11 3-pointers to finish with 27 points, while Kobe Bryant added 18 pts., Lebron James recorded 15 pts. and 7 rebs., and Russell Westbrook tossed in 13 points. Manu Ginobili finished with 23 pts. for Argentina.
We save the best and the boldest for last. According to Celtics president Danny Ainge and everyone else with green blood running through their veins, Garnett's decision is simply whether to play one more year in Boston or retire. After all, it's where he became a champion and nailed down his undeniable Hall of Fame credentials. But we keep coming back to the overall age of the Celtics and whether they can climb over the now-confident Heat. So if Garnett really wants to play and be part of a contender, he should remember the Alamo. Put him on the front line with Tim Duncan and Kawhi Leonard and the Spurs get their defensive swagger back. He's a team player who could fit in with Tony Parker and Manu Ginobili, would give Kevin Durant something to think about in OKC and be the kind of snarling scrapper that coach Gregg Popovich could embrace. A perfect finish.
Kevin Durant is still the best .Along with Manu Ginobili
"Kobe Bryant scores 38 as the Lakers hold off the Knicks despite a late comeback led by Kevin Durant and Stephen Curry.Meanwhile The Heat are saved on a last second block by Manu Ginobili to prevent a game winning three pointer by Paul Pierce." 2K Tournament!!! with Patricio Coicou
1. A defensive foul against Manu Ginobili is waved off, turned into an offensive foul. Replay showed Durant was sliding, original call was correct. - 3 pts for the Spurs 2. Manu Ginobili is hit setting a legitimate screen while Leonard hits a three. Ginobili is called for a foul. - 3 pts for the Spurs 3. Stephen Jackson receives a technical foul for looking at the Thunder's bench. He says nothing, he makes no gesture; he looked at them. + 1 pt for the Thunder 4. Parker is called for a foul against Westbrook. The replay shows there was zero contact, and zero appearance of contact. +1 pt Thunder 5. Kawai Leonard is strongly hit in the head, causing him to lose the ball out of bounds. No call. +2 pts Thunder 6. On a driving shot, Kevin Durant gets a foul called against a defender. It's Kawai Leonard, and he's not within five feet of Durant. + 1 pt Thunder That's 12 free points to the Thunder, and Ginobili on the bench in the fourth, all because of fouls that did not happen. This is not whining about the refe ...
Kevin Durant may have led the scoring for the Oklahoma City Thunder with 27 points; Manu Ginobili scored a game best 34 points. But it was James Harden who deserved the night's MVP, leading the Oklahoma City Thunder to a 108-103 win over the San Antonio Spurs.
