Van Gaal: We must respond in replay Manchester United manager Louis Van Gaal will demand a better display from his team when Cambridge United come to Old Trafford after earning a fourth-round replay in the FA Cup. The Reds controlled the majority of possession but could not break down a stubborn defence that was cheered on by a raucous home crowd at the Abbey Stadium. Speaking to MUTV after the match, Van Gaal offered his assessment of a disappointing 0-0 draw. “I was very disappointed at half-time because we made the same error against Yeovil Town and Queens Park Rangers,” the boss explained. “We played in the same style of play [as the opposition] and you don't have to do that. "In the second half we played much better, we built up the game from behind and played no more long balls. Then we could have scored but we didn't so now we have to play again. “I know in these matches every aspect of a game is against you. The crowd is against you - that is nice I think - but also the pitch and also the ...
Louis Van Gaal is expected to hand Victor Valdes his Manchester United debut during Friday evening's FA Cup tie at Cambridge United. The 33-year-old has not featured since March 26 last year when he damaged the cruciate ligament in his right knee while he kept goal for Barcelona against Celta Vigo. The six-time La Liga winner left Barca in the summer and spent the end of 2014 training with Van Gaal's United squad, before signing an 18-month contract earlier this month. He has since been on the bench for Premier League matches with Southampton and Queens Park Rangers, but with David De Gea likely to be rested for the trip to the Abbey Stadium, Valdes will make his United bow, according to numerous reporters. De Gea, who is said to be a target of Real Madrid, has featured in all 24 of United's matches this term

Premier League FLASHBACK It was back in 1992 when the top division in English football broke away from the rest of the league to form the inaugural FA Carling Premier League. During that first season, the number of clubs in the new league was still 22 – just as it had been in the old First Division. But in 1995 the number was reduced to 20. Here's how the table looked almost exactly 22 years ago on 21 November 1992 (number of points shown in brackets): 1 Norwich City (33) 2 Arsenal (29) 3 Aston Villa (28) 4 Blackburn Rovers (27) 5 Queens Park Rangers (26) 6 Manchester City (25) 7 Chelsea (25) 8 Manchester United (24) 9 Coventry City (23) 10 Ipswich Town (22) 11 Middlesbrough (21) 12 Leeds United (21) 13 Liverpool (19) 14 Sheffield Wednesday (19) 15 Tottenham Hotspur (19) 16 Sheffield United (17) 17 Everton (16) 18 Southampton (15) 19 Oldham Athletic (15) 20 Wimbledon (14) 21 Crystal Palace (12) 22 Nottingham Forest (11)
Three reasons why Manchester United can beat Chelsea. Manchester United take on Chelsea on Sunday in Louis Van Gaal’s toughest test since taking over at Old Trafford in the summer. The Blues have been nothing short of sensational so far this season, and they sit top of the Premier League table after dropping just two points from their opening eight matches. But United can still beat Jose Mourinho’s side and here are three reasons why: Home advantage While United’s league form continues to be hit-and- miss, at home they are beginning to take on the air they once had in abundance. Three wins on the bounce at Old Trafford – against Queens Park Rangers, West Ham United and Everton – have included some of the best attacking football by this side for quite some time, and Chelsea will not relish their visit. That front-line While Wayne Rooney sits out the last of his three- match suspension, United can still call upon some of the very best goal-scorers in the game. Radamel Falcao is likely to be restor ...
Park thrilled to be back at Old Trafford Ji-sung Park was delighted to be back at Old Trafford on Saturday following his appointment as Manchester United's new club ambassador. The former midfielder took advantage of the Everton match being played a day later to have a private look around the stadium he called home for seven years. He also paid a visit to the Aon Training Complex where he caught up with the club's retired kit manager Albert Morgan, a good friend during his time as a player. "I’m very happy to be back," Park told ManUtd.com. "I got very used to Manchester - its atmosphere, its weather - when I played here so it's very familiar to me. I felt very comfortable when I got off the train today." Park, who retired from football in May, admits he didn't expect he'd ever return to United after leaving to join Queens Park Rangers in the summer of 2012. "I thought my relationship with Manchester United was finished because it’s a huge club and I am just one of the many players who come in, play h ...

[SPOTLIGHT ON CITY, FALCAO AND BALOTELLI] - Just a month into the season, Manchester City is already facing a game of huge significance in the defense of its Premier League title. If City loses at home to early leader Chelsea on Sunday, the champions will be eight points behind their biggest rivals for the championship after five matches. And that will be a sizeable gap considering the strength of the squad that Jose Mourinho has built for this season. Buoyed by a 4-0 win over Queens Park Rangers last weekend, Manchester United's line-up of all-star attackers heads to another promoted club, Leicester, with Radamel Falcao in line for a first start. Scoring goals may not be enough for Mario Balotelli to be the new crowd favourite at Liverpool. The Italy striker ended his wait for a goal for his new club by scoring in Tuesday's 2-1 win over Ludogorets Razgrad in the Champions League. But manager Brendan Rodgers says Balotelli must dovetail scoring with a relentless work rate, like Luis Suarez did during his ...

UNiTED STUfFS: Louis Van Gaal hailed a “fantastic” Manchester United performance but insisted his team will be much better and hopes they will end as the Premier League’s highest scorers after Queens Park Rangers were defeated 4-0 at Old Trafford. The victory was the first win of the season for United and the Dutchman, at the fifth attempt. By the close Wayne Rooney, Robin Van Persie, Juan Mata, Radamel Falcao and Ángel di María had illustrated the attacking riches now at Van Gaal’s disposal. Di María’s goal on his home debut, Ander Herrera’s first for United, plus goals from Rooney – to make him the third highest Premier League goalscorer on 175 – and Mata lifted the club to ninth place with five points. “We have always to analyse what we have done. Diego Costa maintains his residence in the heroes column with a hat trick versus Swansea City, while Queens Park Rangers' entire defence earns villain status for a woeful display in a 4-0 loss to Manchester United. HEROES Jack Wilshere's recent performances with Arsenal had brought savage criticism not just from journalists but also from ex-players like Paul Scholes and Tony Adams. After this weekend, everyone now knows why. His display for Arsenal against Manchester City -- powerful, aggressive, incisive and ruthless -- was a reminder of why people were so excited when he broke through in 2008. Wilshere has it in him to dominate the biggest games, to lead his club and his country by example, but he hasn't done it often enough. Saturday's game was his best in months. You shut your critics up by playing like that, not by pleading with them to shut up. Chelsea's Diego Costa might as well just set up camp in this section. Until he gets injured or suspended, he's not going anywhere. Like Cesc Fabregas, also d ...

United ready for a mix of old and new against QPR SEPTEMBER 13, 2014 6:43:03 AM PDT By jesh'shuu Manchester United are due to play Queens Park Rangers and their new signings are fit and available for selection -- it is the kind of problem that Louis Van Gaal has probably been coveting for several weeks. Marcos Rojo has finally satisfied the demands of the work permit authorities, Luke Shaw and Ander Herrera have shaken off strains, while Angel Di Maria, Daley Blind and Falcao are waiting in the wings. In QPR, too, they are likely to have opponents who are somewhat more accommodating than those they have faced in recent weeks. - Patterson: Gaal-acticos to lift the gloom - Mitten: Fond memories of QPR While it is difficult to predict Van Gaal's lineup, there are some players who are far more likely to start than others. Assuming that the Dutchman persists with a 3-5-2 formation, those two players are Herrera and Blind, who will most probably be asked to fill the gap in midfield at once. The form of Darren F ...

The former Crystal Palace man has made just two senior league appearances for United since signing in January 2013, ending last season on loan at Cardiff. "If we thought he was available he would certainly be of interest," said Redknapp. "If they were to loan him I'm sure a lot of clubs would be interested." Ahead of Redknapp's return to former club Tottenham on Sunday, the QPR boss also said he was confident striker Loic Remy would still be at Loftus Road at the end of the transfer window. * Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho insists there was no ulterior motive behind his decision to leave Fernando Torres out of his squad on Saturday. Chris Powell says it is “totally wrong” that Charlton have to face Sheffield Wednesday in the FA Cup tonight, just two days after playing in the Championship. The fifth-round tie was postponed earlier this month and will take place tonight because of UEFA rules which state domestic games cannot clash with Champions League matches on Tuesday and Wednesday. Powell said: “I find it strange. I am not sure too many people who want to watch Manchester United would want to tune into Charlton playing Sheffield Wednesday. “I do not see any reason why you could not play this game on the same night. They do not take into account the players or the supporters, which is totally wrong. It is not great but we will get on with it.” Hull face Brighton in a Cup replay tonight and manager Steve Bruce has also questioned the timing of the game. Charlton beat Queens Park Rangers 1-0 on Saturday and have had just over 48 hours to prepare for the game at Hillsborough. The winner of tonight’s clash faces a quarter-fi ...

Remembering the late Dave Sexton In 1977, the flamboyant Tommy Docherty was replaced as manager of Manchester United by the more studious Dave Sexton. Sexton was manager for four seasons. Dave Sexton was born in London in 1930. He played professional football throughout his twenties, appearing for Luton Town, West Ham United, Leyton Orient, Brighton & Hove Albion and Crystal Palace. After playing, he went into coaching and coaching led him into management. He had managed Leyton Orient, Chelsea and Queens Park Rangers when he came to Old Trafford. Sexton inherited a successful team, if not a particularly deep squad. To those already there, he added a number who went on to enjoy significant Old Trafford careers: Gordon Mcqueen, Joe Jordan, Ray Wilkins, Kevin Moran and Gary Bailey. Unfortunately, under Sexton, Manchester United failed to win any trophies. They lost to Arsenal in the last minute of the 1978-1979 FA Cup Final and, the following season, 1979-1980, were runners-up to Liverpool in the League. Man ...

With that in mind, we look at five players who would fit the bill perfectly at St. James’ Park. Wilfried Zaha!! "It was a chance for him to impress and if he’s done well then no doubt the club will look at taking him on."

Kick It Out trustee Leroy Rosenior has called on the Football Association to hand out a minimum 10-game suspension for racist abuse. In recent seasons, John Terry and Luis Suarez have both been involved in high-profile cases of racial abuse but received different punishments. The FA handed Liverpool striker Suarez an eight-game ban for comments directed at Manchester United's Patrice Evra in October 2011, while Chelsea captain Terry served a four-game suspension for language aimed towards Queens Park Rangers' Anton Ferdinand weeks later. Rosenior believes these punishments did not send the right message and has urged the governing body to establish a set ban for players found guilty of racist abuse to act as a real deterrent. "If someone is found guilty of racist abuse then the minimum is a 10-game ban - that will send a message out to people that it is unacceptable," he told The Daily Telegraph. "10 games is the appropriate starting point for this sort of behaviour. Four games is not enough." The 48-year ...

The Rise and Fall of Football Empires By Kopology on July 1, 2013 With one era ending and another just beginning, can history repeat itself and Liverpool rise to become the dominant force of the seventies and eighties? When Alex Ferguson became Manchester United manager in November 1986, United were languishing second bottom in the First Division table. After a 3–1 win at Queens Park Rangers two days later, Liverpool – under the management of newly appointed Kenny Dalglish – moved to the top of the league. But the first cracks in a great footballing empire had already begun to show, just as the foundations of another were being laid. The fall of one footballing giant and the rise of another was down to more than managerial changes, however. The previous season had been marred by the Heysel Stadium disaster on 29 May 1985 which led to English clubs being banned from European competition for six years. It was a period in which Liverpool would have qualified for Europe every season, three times as winn ...

Monday Night Football: QPR defending unexplainable, says Sky Sports' Gary Neville Gary Neville was left baffled by Queens Park Rangers' 'unexplainable' defending at the weekend but thinks the Premier League's rock-bottom club could still produce a Great Escape. A 2-0 defeat by league leaders Manchester United on Saturday left Harry Redknapp's team at the foot of the table and seven points from safety with just 11 matches remaining in the season. There was little QPR could do to stop Rafael from opening the scoring with a wonderful strike but Sky Sports expert Neville was less than impressed with the defending which allowed Ryan Giggs to add United's second. Separated by the maximum 19 places in the league and a point difference that could be in excess of 50 come the final whistle doesn't come anywhere close to explaining the real story when on Saturday morning at Loftus Road the runaway leaders of the Barclays Premier League face the league's bottom place team. The immense gulf in all facets both on and off the pitch renders the match between Queens Park Rangers and Manchester United as a David and Goliath encounter in the truest of senses. Then we have the diametrically opposed records and personalities of the two managers. In the blue corner we have the BPL's original barrow boy, rent a quote himself King Harold of Redknapp. The only man in the entire 150-year history of English football who in early 2012, talked his way out of the England manager's job whilst blissfully ignoring the facts - the not inconsiderable matter the name Harry Redknapp didn't even appear on the FA's candidates list. We can't get into 'Arry's alleged wheeling and dealing. A few sea ...

Anthony Taylor has been appointed referee for Queens Park Rangers v Manchester United on Saturday February 23rd.
Managerial league table 2012-13: Who leads the way?   Ever wondered how your favourite football club's boss would fare in a league table of managers? Has changing the man in charge made a difference to their fortunes this season?   A study by BBC Sport has analysed the number of points returned per game from each full-time managerial spell since the start of the season.   And while the top man, Manchester United's Sir Alex Ferguson, may come as little surprise, there are some intriguing results elsewhere.   The successful reunion between Eddie Howe and Bournemouth accounts for second spot on the table. Malky Mackay, who has guided Cardiff to the top of the Championship, is next in the manager's list ahead of Manchester City's Roberto Mancini.   At the opposite end of the table, Mark Robson's spell at Barnet, where he collected just three points from 11 matches is the worst managerial spell this season and he is the only manager below Queens Park Rangers' former boss Mark Hughes.   The table also ...

THE post-Mario Balotelli era at Manchester City began in lacklustre fashion as it was held to a 0-0 draw at Queens Park Rangers today that prevented it from making up ground on Manchester United. Victory for City would have cut United's lead to just two points, but instead Alex Ferguson's side will tackle Southampton tomorrow with an opportunity to re-open a seven-point lead at the English Premier League summit. The troublesome Italian striker is expected to complete a switch to AC Milan tomorrow, and City could have done with some extra firepower at Loftus Road. An injury to Vincent Kompany obliged the champion to start with Spanish midfielder Javi Garcia at centre-back, but it began with both Carlos Tevez and Sergio Aguero in attack as they sought to exploit bottom club QPR's defensive frailties. Joleon Lescott blazed an early chance over the crossbar from close range, while Pablo Zabaleta headed against the bar from a David Silva cross and Aguero had a goal ruled out for offside.
It is sort of hard to believe we are having this conversation. Just shy of two-thirds through the Premier League schedule, Manchester City has conceded the fewest goals in the league. The total of 19 goals they have conceded is five better than their nearest competitor, Chelsea, and it is less than a goal against per match. City has played 24 matches and lost twice. Every other Premier League club has lost at least three times, table-topping Manchester United included. Despite it all, City is seven points back of United and the likelihood of the Citizens defending their Premier League title lessens with each passing punchless draw. The recent 0-0 failure at Loftus Road against the worst side in the Prem, Queens Park Rangers, dealt another rocking shot to City's championship aspirations. What in the Colin Bell End is going on here? You Play to Win the Game Manchester City is drawing itself into second place. It is not the two losses (home to Manchester United, away to Sunderland) that have placed City so f ...
LONDON: Manchester City started what seems certain to be life without Mario Balotelli with a frustrating goalless draw at Premier League bottom club Queens Park Rangers on Tuesday.   Balotelli was missing as he concluded the details of his move to AC Milan after City had accepted the Italian club's reported £19 million offer for the striker earlier in the day.   And without the controversial forward, Roberto Mancini's champions missed out on the chance to close the gap on leaders Manchester United to two points.   But the draw left QPR within four points of safety.Balotelli's departure this month has been predicted for some time and the Italy international has been out of favour with Mancini, scoring just one league goal this season.   But the 22-year-old's unpredictable talents might just have made the difference in a stalemate at Loftus Road that will give West London club QPR hope they can avoid relegation. Harry Redknapp's side remain unbeaten in the league since the turn of the year -- although ...

GR Backoff (Rumour) Queens Park Rangers could be facing a battle to keep hold of goalkeeper Julio Cesar after it emerged the Brazil international is wanted by Real Madrid to deputise for the injured Iker Casillas, the Daily Mail has reported. Casillas is facing up to two months on the sidelines after suffering a broken hand in the Copa del Rey match against Valencia. Madrid saw off their La Liga rivals to set up a meeting with Barcelona in the next round, after the Catalans defeated Malaga. Team captain Casillas stands to miss the cup Clasico, however, as well as both legs of the Champions League tie with Manchester United, after being caught on the hand with a kick during a goal-mouth scramble. Casillas was recently dropped from the Madrid starting XI by Jose Mourinho and his injury will mean a return to the side for Antonio Adan. In the long-term, however, Mourinho is said to be seeking experienced cover for the Spain international, and has turned his attention to QPR’s Cesar, with whom Mourinho worke ...

Celtic midfielder Victor Wanyama has previously been linked with the likes of Manchester United and Queens Park Rangers after rejecting a new contract back in October. However, Neil Lennon plans talks with Wanyama's agent and will keep 'plugging away' in his efforts to extend the player's contract beyond 2015.
January 11, 2013 Stoke v. Chelsea Preview (Sky Sports) Tony PullisStoke will feel that they are entertaining Chelsea at a good time, with the Blues having wobbled of late. The Potters came unstuck in their last Premier League outing, against Manchester City, but that was their first setback in 11 matches. The consistency displayed by Tony Pulis' side has them sat inside the top 10, but 11 draws have prevented them from pushing into the pack chasing European qualification. A morale-boosting victory over Chelsea could see them back in that particular hunt, though, and Stoke have yet to taste defeat in front of their own supporters this season. Rafa Benitez will be all too aware of that fact when he takes his troops to the Britannia Stadium. Chelsea suffered a painful Capital One Cup defeat to Swansea in midweek, while they also came unstuck in their last top flight outing - against Queens Park Rangers. They need to get back on track if they are to keep their fading title hopes alive, with Manchester United ...
Sneijder's agent: "No contacts with Londonese clubs. News within 10 days" Interviewed by BBC and asked about Dutch international offensive midfielder Wesley Sneijder's (28) forthcoming future, his agent, Soren Lerby, stated: "Premier League is sure a great championship, and we'd be keen to join it, but not at Queens Park Rangers. Wesley he's in fine shape now, he's one of the best player in Europe, and wants to play for a top club. Anyway, we haven't been in touch with Londonese clubs (referring to rumours about a pre-agreement with Tottenham, Editor's note). Farewell to Inter? There will be news within 10 days from now, everything is currently very strange for sure". About to leave Neroazzurri indeed, former Ajax and Real Madrid player has been recently drawn towards Manchester United, Manchester City, Anzhi Makhachkala, Los Angeles Galaxy, Schalke 04 and AC Milan.
The agent of Wesley Sneijder says the Inter Milan star has no interest in signing for Queens Park Rangers, but the reported Manchester United, Liverpool and Tottenham target hopes to join a 'top' Premier League team. However, according to Soren Lerby, Sneijder would not consider a move to Loftus Road, but only a transfer prominent English side, which wouldappear to leave open the chance of a switch to Manchester United , Liverpool or Tottenham.

**Man Utd v Newcastle preview** Sir Alex Ferguson is certain to make changes to his Manchester United starting XI for Wednesday's home date with Newcastle. Danny Welbeck, Javier Hernandez, Chris Smalling and Darren Fletcher will be amongst those hoping to be involved, having been benched or overlooked against Swansea. Rafael needs to shrug off the hamstring injurythat kept him out of the Liberty Stadium encounter, but he could come back into contention for a full-back berth. Gabriel Obertan will be hoping to figure at some stage for Newcastle against his former employers. The French winger made his return from injury in a 1-0 victory over Queens Park Rangers on Saturday and, with so many attacking talents currently sidelined, he could be offered an opportunity to impress against the side that brought in to England. Cheik Tiote must serve a one-match ban after picking up his fifth yellow card of the season against QPR, while Hatem Ben Arfa (hamstring), Steven Taylor (hamstring), Yohan Cabaye (groin) and Ry ...
Adel Taarabt wants Manchester United move Queens Park Rangers midfielder Adel Taarabt has branded Manchester United "the club of his dreams" as speculation surrounding his future continues. The 23-year-old recently revealed that his agent had held talks with AC Milan over a January move, but the Moroccan has claimed that interest from United would turn his head. "I'd leave London only for Manchester United, the club of my dreams, where there is no number 10. For Mr Ferguson I'd also stay silent on the bench and I would work hard," he told La Gazzetta dello Sport. Taarabt has been QPR's star performer in a disappointing season for the club thus far. your thoughts??
Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew has admitted that he fell out with captain Fabricio Coloccini prior to Saturday's match with Queens Park Rangers. The two made up as the Magpies earned a 1-0 victory over QPR at StJames' Park at the weekend thanks to a winning goal from Shola Ameobi. Pardew has conceded to enduring a confrontation with his skipper, but he insists that it was nothing out of the ordinary. "We fell out this week and we're entitled to do that, as the captain and the manager," said Pardew. "It was just a silly little thing and I know he was determined to get the result." "I just said to him before we walked out on the pitch, 'look we are both winners, we are allowed to fall out'." "I said to him: 'Be our leader today, be a captain and make surethey don't get a sniff of goal'. And when you ask someone to do a job and they do it, it's only right that you pay your respects to them." Newcastle travel to Manchester United on Boxing Day.
Alan Pardew’s admitted Newcastle United must beat Queens Park Rangers – or else be dragged into a relegation battle. The club has won just one of its last seven Premier League games. That sequence has left Newcastle just two points above the bottom three. The QPR game on Saturday is followed by tough festive away games against Manchester United and Arsenal. And unless United beat Harry Redknapp’s side at St James’s Park, they could find themselves in the relegation zone by the end of the year, with last season’s impressive fifth-placed finish becoming a distant memory.
February fixture changes Two of Manchester United's three league fixtures in February have been given new kick-off times after being selected for live television coverage. The Reds' Barclays Premier League home match against Everton, initially pencilled in for Saturday 9 February, is now scheduled for Sunday 10 February at 16:00 GMT. The match will be shown live on Sky Sports. However, if United are required to play a UEFA Champions League match on Tuesday 12 February, the Everton game will revert to Saturday afternoon but with a kick-off of 12:45 GMT for live TV. This will be finalised on Thursday 20 December when the draw for the Champions League last 16 is made. The away trip to Fulham on Saturday 2 February is also affected. This will remain on the same day, but will now kick off at 17:30 GMT for live coverage on ESPN. United's other league fixture in February, Queens Park Rangers away, will not be shown live on UK television and will therefore kick off at 15:00 GMT on Saturday 23 February. Finally, M ...

Manchester United winger Antonio Valencia is set to sit out Wednesday's match against West Ham with a hip injury. The United midfielder missed out on Saturday's 3-1 victory over Queens Park Rangers, and Sir Alex Ferguson confirmed the complaint will keep him out this week. But the Ecuadorian should return next week. "He had a hip injury," Ferguson told MUTV. "Just towards his back. He's had a bit of pain there for the last couple of weeks but he's been playing with it. That's the type of guy he is. He never mentioned it and plays on.

Manchester United's Darren Fletcher "frustrated" at going behind against Queens Park Rangers
GOAL! Queens Park Rangers have shocked the 70,000-odd in attendance at Old Trafford as Jamie Mackie scored from close range after a corner. Manchester United trail 1-0, and there is the sucker-punch! Meanwhile in other Premier League fixtures, Stoke lead Fulham 1-0, Reading lead Wigan 1-0 and Everton lead Norwich 1-0.
Half time at Goodison Park, and Everton take a 1-0 lead to the sheds over Norwich City. Steven Naismith the goal scorer after 12 minutes, however have had some opportunities to extend their lead. Hopefully these missed chances don't come back to haunt like seven days ago at the Majedski Stadium. Meanwhile, nearly half time T Old Trafford, and its 0-0 between Manchester United and Queens Park Rangers. Despite this fixture being 2nd vs 20th, Rangers have put up a spirited fight away from home, with newly appointed manager Harry Redknapp in attendance. QPR even had a goal disallowed for offside. United look as they are in control, but an early second half goal would calm the nerves and prevent a repeat of Carrow Road last week.
QPR will hand Redknapp seven-figure bonus if they stay up Harry Redknapp is on a £1million-plus bonus to keep Queens Park Rangers in the Premier League. Redknapp will take full charge on Monday after QPR’s trip to Manchester United – According To Realdream Sport Inc ©. and has agreed a £3m-a-year, three-year deal. His task will be to save a club that's bottom of the Prem and winless after 12 games - the only side in all four divisions of the English pro game without a league win (Horrible) from relegation. Mark Hughes was sacked by the West Londoners on Friday morning , not not until after he became infuriated by media reports of Redknapp’s impending arrival. The Welshman was irate to discover former Spurs boss Redknapp was about to come in on a huge contract and that he had found out about second hand. Former Wales boss Hughes was changed and in his tracksuit, ready to take training... then the knock on the door came from QPR chief executive Philip Beard and board member Datuk Kamarudin - chair ...
BREAKING: Mark Hughes sacked as manager of Queens Park Rangers just 24 hours before clash with Manchester United.
So apparently Queens Park Rangers didn't want to be the 1st EPL club to sack their manager this season so they waited for one club (namely Chelsea) to lead the way before they sacked Mark Hughes who has been an absolutely abysmal manager for them since he joined!! On the brighter side... Manchester United once again are looking to profit from playing a club with no manager for the umpteenth time!!! Roflmao...
Harry Redknapp has been lined up to return to management at Queens Park Rangers - but not until after their weekend trip to Manchester United. Former Spurs boss Redknapp and his advisers have been sounded out by QPR to take charge once this weekend's game is out of the way which leaves Mark Hughes as effectively a Dead Man walking. (Daily Mirror)
Another stand out performance from new Chelsea boy, Victor Moses as he scored his first league goal for the European champions against Swansea on Saturday. Moses started the match with Mikel Obi and he was a live wire throughout his stay on the pitch. Moses had the highest rating for Chelsea in the match against Swansea - a mirror of last season's outcome. Moses scored from a header from very close range to the top left corner after Eden Hazard's corner kick had been flicked on by Gary Cahill. He could have scored earlier through a header from close range in the centre of the box but that effort was some way off target. Moses was also the man of the match last Wednesday when he helped Chelsea to a 5-4 win over Manchester United in the Capital One Cup. Obi also had a strong game showing both his defensive and offensive capabilities. He blocked a goal bound shot in the 34th minute from Jonathan De Guzman. Nedum Onuoha played for nine minutes for Queens Park Rangers against Reading on Sunday as Rangers earne ...
LONDON—Referee Mark Clattenburg is facing allegations he used racist language towards a Chelsea footballer, the English players' union boss confirmed on Tuesday as police and the Football Association continued their investigations. The issue is threatening to plunge English soccer back into another racism crisis, just as Chelsea Captain John Terry is serving a four-match ban for racially abusing Queens Park Rangers defender Anton Ferdinand last year. Chelsea have made a formal complaint that Clattenburg used "inappropriate language" towards two of their players in Sunday's 3-2 home league defeat by Manchester United but have not named names or gone into detail. Professional Footballers' Association boss Gordon Taylor said Nigerian midfielder John Obi Mikel and Spanish winger Juan Mata were the players involved, confirming widespread media reports. "One of the comments was of a racial type of language definitely," he added to Sky Sports News. "It is of a racist nature." While Clattenburg has made no publ ...
TONIGHT'"S referee wa game ya Capital One Cup b2n united and chelsea ni LEE MASON, facts about him..:=His decision on 8 April 2012 to send-off Shaun Derry for a professional foul in the 14th minute of a match against Manchester United was appealed by Queens Park Rangers after reviewing video replays. The referee awarded United a penalty kick when Derry appeared to foul Ashley Young. QPR manager Mark Hughes criticised Young for going to ground "too readily" and Mason for being "very quick" in giving the penalty despite Young being in an offside position when he received the ball. The Football Association upheld the red card. is this another Manchester United FAN/...referee...!
Manchester United, an explosive and incident-packed match between the league's two top teams that appears to have been marred by an unfortunate series of officiating mistakes. Chelsea's John Obi Mikel is shown a yellow card by referee Mark Clattenburg. (REUTERS)Yet, while Clattenburg has already been taken off the list for this weekend's matches as Football Association chiefs hurriedly arranged an investigation process, this is less an indicator of how seriously England takes its soccer, but instead of how much of an incendiary topic racism has become to followers of the game and those who earn their living inside its confines. From the moment Chelsea's John Terry was accused of calling Queens Park Rangers defender Anton Ferdinand a "black [expletive]" nearly 13 months ago, racism and the battle against it has occupied an almost permanent place in British media discussion
A CURSORY ANALYSES OF THE CONTROVERSY AT STANFORD BRIDGE INVOLVING Mark Clattenburg DURING THE CHELSEA VS MAN-U MATCH ON SUNDAY EVENING 28/10/2012 The allegations that Mark Clattenburg used a "racist slur" when addressing Mikel John Obi closed a difficult year for the domestic game. This began in October 2011 with similar incidents involving Luis Suárez and Patrice Evra during Liverpool's meeting with Manchester United at Anfield, and John Terry and Anton Ferdinand in Queens Park Rangers's match with Chelsea at Loftus Road. Suarez received an eight-game ban and a £40,000 fine; Terry a four-match ban and a £220,000 fine. What is alleged to have taken place? United kick off at Stamford Bridge with Ashley Cole and Rio Ferdinand having exchanged handshakes following the Kick It Out T-shirt protests of the previous weekend which were provoked by the disquiet at the Football Association's handling of the Terry case, and his punishment. On what was a highly controversial afternoon, Chelsea conceded two early ...

Queens Park Rangers celebrated a 'momentous day' after prising Park Ji-sung from Manchester United
*** Earlier today, Queens Park Rangers confirmed the signing of South Korean international Park Ji-Sung from Manchester United for an undisclosed fee. After seven years at Old Trafford, how do you think the 31-year-old will fare at Loftus Road?
Mark Hughes: 'Park Ji-Sung arrival proved me right' "On a football level [Park] is somebody that I have admired from afar for many, many years. He has worn the red shirt of Manchester United in a very distinguished way," "He's got great energy and great technical ability. He is going to bring so much to the team and I cannot wait to start working with him. He is a very motivated guy and one that feels that there is success ahead of him, as we all do.
