Chelsea to offload winger to fund Reus move Marco Reus is currently one of the hottest properties in world football and with Borussia Dortmund looking to cash in on the young German many of Europe's elite clubs are swarming. Chelsea, along with Premier League rivals Manchester United, Liverpool and Arsenal, have expressed an interest in Reus. Reus has a £20 million clause in his contract that activates in June but Chelsea will face a huge test from Real Madrid to successfully land him. With Mourinho's current attacking options (Mohamed Salah and Andre Schurrle) struggling, he is willing to sell the latter to fund a move for his compatriot. Reus is hoping to move to a big club and Chelsea would suit him perfectly with Belgium winger Eden Hazard and playmaker Oscar in the side. Chelsea are also challenging for major competitions and that will make Reus aware that he will be part of a big club. Madrid are also that having won the Champions League but with Gareth Bale and Cristiano Ronaldo in the side game t ...
Masterful Eden Hazard sets Chelsea fair for progress to last four! • Match report: Derby County 1-3 Chelsea Chelsea might have suffered their first Premier League defeat of the season though unlike Liverpool or Manchester United, say, they are still fighting on all four fronts and have now reached their first semi-final of the season (more to come). One would imagine the Capital One Cup is the least of José Mourinho’s priorities, but a team three points clear at the top of the table can afford to take lesser competitions seriously. Certainly a squad of such depth and quality has almost an obligation to give a good account of itself in a quarter-final, and with only a couple of exceptions for pensioners, such as Didier Drogba for Diego Costa and Petr Cech for Thibaut Courtois, the Rams found themselves facing the whole hog. That meant an appearance for Eden Hazard, for whom Real Madrid are reportedly willing to swap Gareth Bale, should Chelsea be willing to let him go. Mourinho needs to think carefull ...

Real Madrid would be willing to offload Gareth Bale to Manchester United if it means they can sign Eden Hazard to replace him.
TOP FIVE PLAYERS Real Madrid ARE TARGETTING IN English Premier League. 5) Eden Hazard (Chelsea) With reports that Real Madrid could be ready to sell Gareth Bale to Manchester United in a somewhat surprising deal, it is thought that Chelsea's wing wizard Eden Hazard would be their first choice to come in as a replacement. The Belgian international has been world class since his move to Stamford Bridge in 2012, and would certainly fit in well at the Bernabeu. 4) Raheem Sterling (Liverpool) Despite being in talks to sign a new contract at Anfield, Liverpool's exciting young winger Raheem Sterling is believed to be high on Real Madrid's list of potential transfer targets. The England international is an outstanding prospect and could be a real star of the future befitting of the famous white shirt. 3) David De Gea (Manchester United) Linked recently as Real's ideal replacement for the struggling Iker Casillas, Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea could be a top class signing by the Spanish giants after h ...

Eden Hazard admits he was upset when Juan Mata left Chelsea for Manchester United
Chelsea midfielder Eden Hazard prepares to face Manchester United with the world at his feet By Henry Winter Hazard strides into Old Trafford on Sunday as Chelsea’s Player of the Year, as PFA Young Player of the Year and hailed as a great entertainer who will eventually rival Lionel Messi, according to his many disciples. As he prepares to take on Manchester United, the new, improved Hazard is testament to his heightened powers of dedication and the wisdom of listening to a great manager in Jose Mourinho. Eden Hazard has arrived. In a season illuminated by the likes of Diego Costa and Cesc Fabregas at Chelsea, by West Ham United’s Diafra Sakho, Graziano Pellè at Southampton and West Bromwich Albion’s Saido Berahino, Hazard has been one of the most eye-catching stars. The Belgian’s bravura display in last the 6-0 thumping of Maribor last Tuesday raised questions again in certain sceptical minds over whether he delivers only against lesser sides, an old canard in urgent need of neck-wringing. These is reason that I think Manchester United will be better than Chelsea Chelsea’s depleted Front Line Diego Costa and Loic Remy will be missing from the Old Trafford battle, as a fledgling defence. Eden Hazard will still be a threat, but no one still at Chelsea has scored a goal against United in the last four meetings.
Chelsea6 Remy 13′ Drogba 23′ (pen) Terry 31′ Viler 54′ (og) Hazard 77′ (pen), 90′ NK Maribor0 Didier Drogba scored his first goal since rejoining Chelsea as they recorded their biggest Champions League win with a dominant victory against Maribor at Stamford Bridge. Loic Remy swept in the opener but was quickly replaced by Drogba after injuring himself when scoring. Drogba then converted a penalty before John Terry slid in a third. A Mitja Viler own goal put Chelsea in command before Eden Hazard scored a penalty and drove in a late sixth. Agim Ibraimi hit the post with a penalty for Maribor, but in truth the Slovenians were well beaten. Chelsea have seven points from three games to sit top of Group G, and will be confident of reaching the knockout stage. It was almost the perfect win for boss Jose Mourinho, although the injury to Remy was a cause for concern. With Diego Costa out with a hamstring injury, the Blues could face Sunday's Premier League trip to Manchester United with Drogba as the c ...
Neville: Mikel Makes Chelsea Stronger Former England and Manchester United defender Gary Neville has said that Nigeria international, John Obi Mikel made Chelsea stronger and sterner when he came on in the 2-0 win against Arsenal last weekend. . Chelsea won the game after goals from Eden Hazard and Diego Costa and they gave a very assured defensive display. Neville, who was speaking on Sky Sports after the game, said that he believed the Blues were in total control of the match and that although Arsenal played well he never thought they would win. The former defender turned pundit also added that he thought Chelsea always had an extra gear in their locker as well as having additional strength if they needed it in the form of Mikel. “I didn’t think Arsenal played badly – I thought they started the game well, as Jose Mourinho said – but you never felt Chelsea were in danger of not winning,” he said. “You always felt Chelsea had a gear to go up to if they needed to, while John Obi Mikel came on i ...

It's the second year in a row that the Manchester United striker has topped the league of shirt sales. The rankings, as revealed in the Premier League Season Review 2013/14, is based on the worldwide sale of shirts and is compiled by Sporting iD. Liverpool’s challenge for the title helped the popularity of their players with captain Steven Gerrard and Luis Suarez, the league’s top goalscorer, being the second and third most popular names on the back of shirts respectively. CHELSEA UNDER 21 STAR Charly Musonda PART OF TALENTED FOOTBALLING FAMILY AND DREAMS OF MAKING IT IN Premier League Collecting the ball from Nathan Ake, there was only one thought in Charly Musonda's mind. The ball magnetically attracted to his boot, he floated infield, leaving a brace of Manchester United defenders wrong-footed. As he approached the 'D' on the edge of the box, Musonda shaped to shoot and, using the shield of two red-shirted players to deceive the goalkeeper, flashed the ball into the bottom corner. The goal turned the Under 21 Premier League final at Old Trafford in Chelsea's favour and acted as a springboard to a 2-1 success that capped a fine season for the club's Academy. It was also the latest showcase of the enormous potential that has meant the 17-year-old whizzkid has been compared with Eden Hazard, Andres Iniesta and Xavi. But Charly is only the starting point for footballing talent in the Musonda family. He is the most gifted of three brothers signed by Chelsea from Belgian side ...
Dear USA, your national team is in no comparison to Belgium so there's no need to be upset. Belgium is a world class team. They have players alone that are worth more than the entire USA squad...for example; Eden Hazard, one of the most profilic and young superstars in Europe that plays for Chelsea. Kevin De Bruyne, young rising star who played for Chelsea and is currently at Wolfsburg. Vincent Kompany, one of the best defenders in the world playing for Manchester City. Daniel Van Buyten, veteran defender who has been playing for Bayern Munich since 2006. Alex Witsel, midfielder who got transferred to Zenit for 40 million Euros. Fellaini who plays for Manchester United and is one of the best holding midfielders in the world. Before you bash the USA players and the staff or say oh no we believe we could've beaten Belgium, you need to realize that there is no youth system here to bring out world class players. People keep going on about Landon Donovan...he went to Europe he couldn't do anything and they sen ...
01-07-2014 Chelsea Football Club today bids farewell to Samuel Eto'o whose contract is now at an end. Eto'o spent one season at Stamford Bridge and true to his illustrious career as one of the great strikers in world football, provided some of the most memorable moments of 2013/14 with his goals, often important opening strikes including in big games against Arsenal and Tottenham, and against Manchester United when he became just the third Chelsea player to score a hat-track against the Old Trafford outfit. He signed on a one-year deal from Anzhi Makhachkala last August, making his debut at Everton and scoring his first Chelsea goal in a 4-1 win over Cardiff City, taking an Eden Hazard pass in his stride, jinking past Steven Caulker and firing low past David Marshall. It was another important contribution, giving his team a 2-1 lead, and Eto'o's formidable history in the Champions League continued with his first goals for us in that competition soon followed, a brace in a 3-0 win against Schalke, before h ...

Dit zeggen de Britten over de kansen van de Red Devils: BELGIUM With attacking quality in abundance and a defence marshalled by the man many believe to be the best in the business, Belgium are probably the team most likely to put a new name on the roster of World Cup winners. With Vincent Kompany at the heart of the defence in front of goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois, one of Atletico Madrid's brightest stars this season, there is a reassuring solidity at the back too. Also in the mix, intriguingly, is Manchester United youngster Adnan Januzaj, who recently committed his future to the country of his birth. Eden Hazard with a beauty against Manchester United!
In part one of our interview with Chelsea Player of the Year, Eden Hazard reflected on joining a long, illustrious list of previous winners, as well as outlining his determination to ensure next season is a more successful one collectively. In part two today, the Belgian discusses the impact made by some of his team-mates, outlines his objectives for next season and looks ahead to next month's World Cup in Brazil… During his first season at Stamford Bridge, Eden Hazard quickly built up a rapport with Oscar and Juan Mata, with the trio, operating behind the lone striker, causing all manner of problems for opposition defenders with their ability on the ball and running off it. Mata has since departed the club, leaving for Manchester United in January, but the squad has been bolstered in the attacking positions with the acquisitions of Andre Schurrle, Willian and, more recently, Mohamed Salah. Competition for places in that area of the pitch is now extremely high, meaning consistency is the key, as Hazard ...

Deco feels Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho blundered selling Juan Mata to Manchester United . Mata has outperformed former Blues teammate Oscar since the January switch. "It is difficult to see how Chelsea are going to score a goal," Deco told the Daily Express . "Chelsea depend on Oscar doing well and Eden Hazard . They have the quality that if they are doing well, the team will get plenty of chances. "But Eden Hazard has been injured and Oscar has not played so well of late and they have struggled to come up with something different. "So I don't know why Jose sold Mata in January because he is a good player. Maybe now he could be important for Chelsea. I am sure Jose knows what he is doing, but Mata seemed to have started well for Chelsea." Thanks David Moyes

Rooney up for fans award Manchester United forward Wayne Rooney’s recent fine form has earned him a nomination for the FTBPro PFA Fans Player of the Month award. The Reds' no. 10 started March with a strike away at West Brom before trebling his tally for the month at West Ham, where he notched a brace including that stunning long-range effort to leave the Hammers' keeper Adrian well and truly beaten. Wayne's two goals at Upton Park moved the forward up to third place in the list of United's all-time top scorers with only Sir Bobby Charlton and Denis Law now standing in the way of Rooney's route to the top. His game isn’t all about goals, though, and his all-round sweat-soaked displays have been just as likely to land him a place on the same shortlist as Luis Suarez, Daniel Sturridge, Eden Hazard, Seamus Coleman and Laurent Koscielny. The FTBPro awards are designed to give supporters a say and are endorsed by the players and supported by the clubs. If your vote helps Wayne to win the prize, you could b ...

Title is in sight for Chelsea as Nemanja Matic fits into Jose Mourinho's blueprint Midfield battle: Nemanja Matic holds off Yaya Toure James Olley Tuesday 04 February 2014 The first week in February is too early to declare Chelsea’s mid- season transfer business an unqualified success but this result is irrefutable evidence that Jose Mourinho is on the right track. Last week’s goalless draw against West Ham offered up the simple conclusion that selling Juan Mata to Manchester United was a mistake given their inability to break down stubborn opponents. Mata could one day come back to haunt the Blues but, in his absence, Eden Hazard, Willian and Ramires underlined how well they understand the Mourinho blueprint for success. They tracked back and worked tirelessly in a manner Mourinho believed Mata was incapable of. And it was Nemanja Matic, a £21million acquisition funded by Mata’s sale, who provided Chelsea with a foothold to succeed in this seismic encounter. Yaya Toure initially threatened to bul ...

The five biggest Premier League wins - Manchester City games miss out After City's 7-0 and 6-0 thumpings of Norwich and Tottenham in their last two home games, a look at the highest margins of victory since the league began, also featuring Chelsea, Manchester United and Newcastle. Manuel Pellegrini's Manchester City may be struggling away from home but at the Etihad they are scoring for fun. 13 goals in their last two fixtures is impressive but their margins of victory are still not enough to put them in top five highest winning scorelines. So what makes the list? Chelsea 8-0 Aston Villa (23rd December 2012) – Rafael Benitez’s side saw Christmas come early when they thumped Villa at Stamford Bridge last season. Fernando Torres, David Luiz and Branislav Ivanovic put them three ahead by half-time. Frank Lampard made it four with a Ramires double, Oscar’s penalty and Eden Hazard completing the rout. Lucas Piazon also missed a penalty which would have put them at the top of the list. Chelsea 8-0 Wigan A ...
Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho remains a fan of one-time target Shinji Kagawa, and could be ready to offer one of his main playmakers in return to Manchester United to land the Japanese star. The Blues boss revealed earlier this month in an interview with a Japanese publishing company that he was interested in signing Kagawa from Borussia Dortmund during his time as manager of Real Madrid, though the presence of Mesut Ozil and other creative players at the club meant he did not pursue this option. Kagawa eventually went to United, though he has not managed to establish himself as a regular at the club and is looking to move this January, with his old club Dortmund among those keen to snap him up. However, SportsDirect News can reveal that Mourinho may look to bring him to Chelsea, as he senses an opportunity to sign him again. Although his side are again stocked with similar players, he has not been altogether impressed by the likes of Juan Mata and Eden Hazard so far this season, and could offer one of th ...
6 THINGS WE LEARNT FROM THE Premier League LAST WEEKEND Liverpool bounced back to form with a comprehensive win over a struggling Fulham side at Anfield, while Southampton impressed in disposing of Hull City. Chelsea needed a late penalty from Eden Hazard to earn a 2-2 draw at home to West Brom. Aston Villa left in late, but were able to see off Cardiff City at Villa Park while Manchester United grabbed a potentially crucial Premier League victory over Arsenal on Sunday evening at Old Trafford, as Robin Van Persie once again punished his former employers. Here are 6 lessons we picked from all the top games Tim Krul Is One Of The Best Keepers In The Premier League In a week that saw Tottenham Hotspur’s goalkeeper all over the national news, Tim Krul wrote some headlines of his own in the capital with an outstanding display. Mourinho's home run saved, Liverpool win (AFP) Saturday 9 November 2013 A fiercely disputed 96th-minute Eden Hazard penalty saw Chelsea *** a 2-2 draw with West Bromwich Albion to preserve Jose Mourinho's unbeaten home record in league games. The Chelsea manager was heading for his first home defeat in 66 matches when Steven Reid was contentiously adjudged to have fouled Ramires and Hazard held his nerve amid angry West Brom protests to roll home an equaliser. Samuel Eto'o had put the hosts in front, but West Brom hit back through Shane Long and Stephane Sessegnon to take Chelsea to the brink of a second consecutive league defeat following last weekend's 2-0 loss at Newcastle United. Despite Hazard's equaliser, the UEFA Europa League champions slipped to fourth place, four points below leaders Arsenal, who could move even further clear if they win at Manchester United on Sunday. Mourinho had restored Hazard to his starting line-up after the Belgian attacking midfielder was dropped for the mid-week win ...
Jose Mourinho insists he doesn’t want to scare his players but admits he expects them to bounce back from defeat to Newcastle when they host West Brom. Steve Clarke’s Baggies travel to Stamford Bridge tomorrow, having already taken points off both Arsenal and Manchester United this term. But after the Blues’ surprise 2-0 loss at Newcastle last Saturday, which saw them slip five points behind leaders Arsenal, Mourinho says he wants his players to show more strength to avoid a third league defeat of the campaign. ‘The defeat against Everton was a consequence of what football can be. The defeat against Basel was also a very strange one,’ said the Chelsea boss. ‘Against Newcastle my feeling was not good since the first minute. ‘So for the players I work with for the first time maybe it was the first time they saw me angry. ‘I don’t want to be scary I just want to influence their mentality, make them stronger and more professional. So my objective is not to scare, it’s to make them strong. ...
Buoyant Premier Leagueleaders Arsenal will look to deal a potentially crushing blow to Manchester United's slow-burning title defence when they visit Old Trafford for a seismic showdown on Sunday. Arsenal's momentum appeared to be dwindling after they lost consecutive home games to Borussia Dortmund and Chelsea, but they roared back to defeat Liverpool 2-0 in the league last weekend before becoming the first English team to win away to Dortmund in the Champions League on Wednesday. Having won eight and drawn one of their nine league games since losing to Aston Villa on the season's opening day, they travel to Manchester knowing that victory would leave them 11 points clear of the champions after 11 matches of the campaign. United striker Wayne Rooney poured scorn on Arsenal's championship credentials this week, saying that their recent title challenges had "faded away", but the London club's midfielder Aaron Ramsey says his side have nothing to fear from the 20-time champions. "Absolutely not. They have h ...
Capital One Cup: Chelsea Reduces Arsenal’s Title Hopes as United Proceeds Into Last Eight. The duo of Cesar Azpliqueta and Juan Mata scored to help Chelsea knock out Arsenal from the English League Cup on Tuesday as Javier ‘Chicharito’ Hernandez grabbed a brace for Manchester United in the 4-0 thrashing of Norwich City. Blues’ boss Jose Mourinho had expressed dissatisfaction with the club’s tight fixtures schedule, having played two of English football giants- Manchester City on Sunday and then Arsenal- in the space of three days, but the Portuguese, as promised, rang out ten changes to the side that defeated City at Stamford Bridge with only Garry Cahill keeping his place. Despite resting the likes of Andre Schurrle, Fernando Torres, Eden Hazard, Spaniard Mata made his sixth start of the season and stood out all through as Chelsea dominated the ‘Gunners’ at their Emirate Stadium home- largely due to a superior squad strength. John Mikel Obi and Mikael Essien bossed the midfield while Willia ...

Arsenal return to summit, Spurs lose 06 October By SAPA London – Jack Wilshere sent Arsenal back to the top of the Premier League table with a second-half equaliser in an entertaining 1-1 draw at West Bromwich Albion on Sunday. Bidding to follow up last weekend's shock victory at Manchester United, West Brom took a 42nd-minute lead at The Hawthorns when Claudio Yacob converted Morgan Amalfitano's right-wing cross with a near-post header. Former Arsenal striker Nicolas Anelka spurned two glorious opportunities to double the hosts' lead, fluffing his lines from Saido Berahino's low cross and then curling wide with only Wojciech Szczesny to beat. He was made to pay for his profligacy in the 63rd minute when Wilshere met Tomas Rosicky's lay-off with a crisp drive that took a deflection off Jonas Olsson and flashed past goalkeeper Boaz Myhill. Myhill prevented Olivier Giroud from claiming a late winner, but the draw was enough to take Arsene Wenger's side above Liverpool on goals scored, while Steve Clarke's ...

EPL 2012-2013: Top 5 bargain signings The season has come to a close and a sea of Red was flowing at the end of another season full of talking points. Manchester United became champions for a 20th time. Robin Van Persie stole the show for United by being the top scorer in the Premier League. A well thought-out buy by the retired Sir Alex Ferguson. However, some managers don’t have 20 million pounds to splash around and get a brilliant player, instead they try to wheel and deal their way through the transfer window. So here we have the top 5 bargain buys from the concluded Premier League season Christian Benteke Not much was known about the big Belgian when he joined Aston Villa from Genk. Bought for a sum of 7 million pounds, he ended as the top scorer for Aston Villa, saving them from relegation. He scored a total of 23 goals from 39 games (Cup and league). The highlight of the season has to be his hat trick against Sunderland. His tally of 23 goals made him the first player to score that many goals f ...

52' Manchester United vs Chelsea. Eden Hazard in, Victor Moses out. Chelsea
John Mikel Obi paid tribute to the team effort that ensured Chelsea recovered from a perilous position against Manchester United, to keep the defence of the FA Cup alive. The midfielder, a four-times winner of the competition, was involved in one of two substitutions made after 52 minutes of Sunday's 2-2 draw at Old Trafford, the Blues trailing 2-0 at the time. Goals from Eden Hazard , who was introduced at the same time as Mikel , and Ramires subsequently earned a replay but Mikel played down his individual impact on what was a thrilling second half. 'The guys who were there before, Frank [Lampard]and Victor [Moses], they were doing very well as well and it is never easy to play against ManchesterUnited at Old Trafford. It was just maybe the moment the game could change for us, and when we came on it just did, so credit to the team. 'After the first half we went back to the dressing room and had a chat, and we went out for the second half and started to show a bit more character, a bit more belief that w ...
Rio Ferdinand admitted Manchester United had been punished for carelessness after letting a two-goal lead slip in the FA Cup quarter-final against Chelsea. A 2-2 draw at Old Trafford leaves the tie unresolved with the winners to face Manchester City in the semi-final - though first they have to find a suitable day to hold the replay. Ferdinand, who could face action from the Football Association after an off-the-ball altercation with Fernando Torres, told MUTV: "We gave them the impetus to claw their way back into the game. We played some great football at times but were so careless at times. If you are careless you are going to get punished. That was the case. Manchester - Manchester United manager Alex Ferguson hailed goalkeeper David De Gea after his superb late save against Chelsea kept the Premier League leaders in the FA Cup. United led 2-0 after 11 minutes of Sunday's quarter-final but Chelsea hit back to level the score in the second half and the hosts were left hanging on in the dying stages. Chelsea could have snatched a winning goal in the last minute of normal time, when Juan Mata cushioned a high ball and stepped inside Jonny Evans before blasting a shot at goal. However, De Gea intervened, spreading himself to divert the ball wide of his right-hand post and thereby keeping United in a competition they last won in 2004. "It was a very good save," said Ferguson. "I saw the replay and it was terrific at a very important time, because there was no doubt we would be out if they had scored at that time." United had appeared to be cruising into the semi-finals after early goals from Javier Hernandez and the recalled Wayne Rooney put them in control on a w ...
Former Chelsea and Manchester United midfielder Ray Wilkins does not envisage Jose Mourinho leaving Real Madrid for Stamford Bridge this summer, but expects the Portuguese to succeed Ferguson at Old Trafford.
It wasn't just Chelsea who made my day by coming from behind to produce that superb 2nd haft game against Manchester United. Though that second haft come back couldn't win the game for the Blues, but their fans just like me, will be highly pleased with the way Chelsea played. We had a very fantastic game and could have even won it had it not been some great savings by United's keeper, David De Gea. The home side had gone two goals up in the first 12 minutes of the game, thanks to Hernandez who just keeps scoring against Chelsea. The goal came as the Mexican spotted that Cech had left the post and he cleverly headed the ball over the Chelsea's keeper and the ball decended into the empty net to give the Red Devils the lead. Their lead was quickly strengthened when Rooney scored from the free-kick and they managed to defend their goals into the second haft despite the visitors ruthless attacks and dominant possession. But the introduction of Eden Hazard by removal of one of the AFCON champions' stars, Victor ...
Roberto Mancini in for Barcelona star Alexis Sanchez has become unsettled by limited opportunities at Barcelona Mancini wanted to buy winger Sanchez after he caught the eye for Chile in the 2010 World Cup finals. Sanchez, 24, preferred a £25million move to Barcelona but has become unsettled by limited opportunities. Manchester United had been credited with interest in the former Udinese forward, but it is their Premier League rivals who look set to make the first move with manager Roberto Mancini believing Sanchez would help City’s problems in wide areas. City have struggled for creativity from the flanks this year followingthe sale of Adam Johnson to Sunderland and Scott Sinclair’s failure to hold down a first-team berth following his move from Swansea City last summer. Without natural width, City have been predictable at times this season and Mancini is to make rectifying that a priority. Sanchez would certainly offer natural width and fit into the 4-3-3 formation which the club have used to good e ...
MATCH REPORT: MIDDLESBROUGH 0 CHELSEA 2 Summary Chelsea march on into the FA Cup quarter-finals courtesy of a hard-fought 2-0 win at the Riverside Stadium. After a slow first half with few chances at either end, Fernando Torres gave us the lead five minutes after the break when a Ramires strike cannoned off his head and beat the despairing dive of Jason Steele in the Middlesbrough goal. The goalscorer then missed two good chances to put the game out of sight, before Victor Moses scored our second after excellent build-up play from the substitute Eden Hazard. A trip to take on Manchester United at Old Trafford a week on Sunday now awaits, and given our recent record in the competition, supporters will head to the north west in optimistic mood. Team news Rafael Benitez made a host of changes for our first visit to the Riverside Stadium since 2008. Branislav Ivanovic was the only defender to keep his place in the side from Sunday's defeat at Manchester City, with John Terry, Paulo Ferreira and Ryan Bertrand ...

THE LEGACY OF David Gill MONDAY, 25/02/2013 by Amit Mistry, Shoot's Manchester United blogger It was announced that David Gill will step down as the chief executive in June after nearly 10 years at the top. He has witnessed and guided Manchester United through some of the most challenging times in both on and off the pitch. Without his leadership and his flourishing partnership with Sir Alex Ferguson, it is possible that the club could have capitulated in the face of these challenges. The past decade has been marked by the increase of foreign ownership of Premier League clubs which have been injected with considerable funds that can rival the financial revenues of United as of one of the most supported clubs in the world. Both Chelsea and Manchester City are prime examples of where they won the battles for signing the world’s most sought after talent. Notable cases are Arjen Robben, Samir Nasri and Eden Hazard. With footballers becoming more mercenary-like, United have had to compete with rival clubs in ...

Jose Mourinho is ready to return to Stamford Bridge and rescue his beloved Chelsea. All the Special One is waiting for is the call from Blues’ billionaire owner Roman Abramovich, who is desperately seeking a new manager to take over from reviled interim boss Rafa Benitez. Rafa’s Bridge reign is in disarray after a disastrous run that includes Saturday’s 3-2 loss to Newcastle. But Red Rom had better be quick. Mourinho, who is sure to leave Spanish champs Real Madrid this summer, has already been bombarded with lucrative job offers. But the Special One will ignore them all if there is a chance to go “home”. Another La Liga defeat at the weekend, courtesy of Cristiano Ronaldo’s own goal at Granada, piled even more pressure on the underfire boss. The intensity of feeling at the Bernabeu has increased ahead of the double-header with Manchester United in the Champions League last-16. And sandwiched between those two huge games is a Copa del Rey semi-final second leg away to arch-rivals Barcelona.
Man City in for a tough ride until the end of the season. Man City V Liverpool Some people may say it is an easy game, but it won't be, Liverpool will want to bounce back after losing a 2 goal lead at the Emirates and with Suarez anything is possible. Southampton V Man City Southampton are looking a very tough team to beat, they restricted Everton's chance's in the 0-0 draw a week ago and they gave Manchester United a scare at Old Trafford with Sir Alex saying they was the best team to play at Old Trafford this season based on their second half performance. Man City V Chelsea Chelsea will have Eden Hazard back and with Juan Mata inform Chelsea are more than capable of getting a result. Aston Villa V Man City Villa are down in the relegation battle and they will be battling hard, after seeing Man City draw 0-0 at QPR I'm sure Villa will fancy there chances of getting a point. Villa gave Man Utd a tough game aswell. Man City V Wigan Looks like a routine home win but with Wigan anything is possible, Wigan on ...

On 5 February 2012, Mata scored an unstoppable volley against Manchester United after a beautiful cross from Spanish team-mate Fernando Torres. The game finished 3–3.[35] On 21 February, Mata scored his side's only goal in their 3–1 defeat away at Napoli in the first leg of the Champions League round of 16.[36] After the appointment of Roberto Di Matteo as Interim first-team coach, Mata was played as a central attacking midfielder rather than being played on the left wing. Mata scored and had a penalty saved by Colin Doyle in the FA Cup 5th round replay against Birmingham City at St Andrews, which Chelsea won 2–0, he helping them into the quarter-finals of the FA Cup and continued his trait of scoring in each round, however this run ended against Leicester City in the quarter-final, which Chelsea won 5–2. On 7 April 2012, Mata scored his 11th goal of the season against Wigan Athletic, it was a vital goal that gave the Blues a 2–1 victory over the Latics and kept alive Chelsea's fight for a Champ ...

Chelsea hit Villa for eight, United held Chelsea, playing with a swagger missing for much of the season, routed Aston Villa 8-0 on Sunday as Premier League leaders Manchester United wasted the chance to move six points clear after a 1-1 draw at Swansea City. Chelsea striker Fernando Torres began the goal glut after three minutes at Stamford Bridge and David Luiz and Branislav Ivanovic made it 3-0 at the break. Frank Lampard marked his 500th Premier League game and first league start since October with a rasping fourth before Ramires (two), Oscar and Eden Hazard joined the fun as Chelsea, who also missed a penalty, secured a first home league win under interim manager Rafael Benitez to move up to third. United, who led at Swansea through Patrice Evra before being pegged back by league top scorer Michu's 13th goal this season, hold a four-point advantage over Manchester City, who beat Reading 1-0 on Saturday, heading into a busy holiday programme. The latest Football gossip ;) CHELSEA IN POLE POSITION FOR FALCAO It does rather seem as if the next destination of Radamel Falcao may well become something of an Eden Hazard-style circus, but the Sunday Mirror today reports that Chelsea are in the driving seat to land the striker.Man United got R.V.P..Chelsea has to get someone since Drogba left ... The paper claims that Manchester City will not be making a firm offer unless they can offload Mario Balotelli in January. A 'source close to the club' (we know, we know) told the Mirror that Manchester City would not be making a major outlay in the upcoming transfer window, leaving the path open for the Blues to match the £28million release clause. UNITED JOIN ZAHA CHASE The People today make the obvious move of Manchester United defeat + upcoming transfer window = splurge of money, claiming that Alex Ferguson will aim to bring Wilfried Zaha to Old Trafford in January. According to the paper, Ferguson sees Zaha as a Cristiano Ronaldo-style attacker, and has ...
Chelsea lose ground in title race November 17, 2012 Chelsea fell four points behind a rampant Manchester City in the Premier League after losing to West Brom on Saturday, as QPR were left stranded at the bottom of the table by the same margin after they lost an early season relegation battle against Southampton and Reading came from behind to defeat Everton. After Arsenal scored five to beat Tottenham in the day's early match, Carlos Tevez and Sergio Aguero then scored twice apiece as Man City repeated that feat with a 5-0 win over Aston Villa, while Luis Suarez was again instrumental as Liverpool battered Wigan and Michu and Jonathan De Guzman notched as Swansea consigned Newcastle to another defeat. Chelsea faced the prospect of falling six points behind Manchester United - facing Norwich in the evening kick-off - in the title race after they were beaten 2-1 by West Bromwich Albion at The Hawthorns. Baggies manager Steve Clarke had spoken before the match of his side's desire to take a major scalp at ** ...
• Mourinho will bring Drogba back... to Chelsea • Blues slipped to third after being held by Liverpool Roberto Di Matteo's faith in Fernando Torres is set to boomerang as Chelsea's most expensive player continued to fire blanks in the 1-1 draw against Liverpool at Stamford Bridge on yesterday. The result stretched Liverpool's unbeaten run in the league to six matches and left Chelsea without a win in three games. Chelsea slipped to third in the table and lost two points to leaders Manchester United and second-placed Manchester City who both won over the weekend. Despite their win over Liverpool in last season's FA Cup final, Di Matteo was left to rue his side's missed chances as the Reds extended their unbeaten run in their last four matches at Stamford Bridge. Torres may have been proven right that he had to leave Anfield in January 2011 to capture the game’s biggest prizes but he seems to have left his game behind on Merseyside the night he moved to Stamford Bridge for £50 million. Chelsea FC record first Abramovich-era profit. Chelsea Football Club has said it made a profit of £1.4m ($2.2m) for the financial year ending on 30 June, the first time the club has made a profit since Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich took over as owner in 2003. The West London club also recorded a record group turnover of £255.7m. The team, which won the Champions League last season as well as the FA Cup, are second in the Premier League. The profit comes after a £67.7m loss in the previous financial year. Chelsea says it is in a strong position to comply with UEFA's Financial Fair Play criteria for the coming seasons, which require clubs over a fixed period to achieve a break-even figure when expenditure is measured against income from football-related activities. The increase in turnover puts them above Arsenal in the money league and in fifth place in the world behind Real Madrid, Barcelona, Manchester United and Bayern Munich. Arsenal's figure, released two months ago, saw overall turnover fal ...
Alex Ferguson and Juan Mata have been named Premier League managerand player of the month for October. The award for Ferguson comes on the back of winsaway to Newcastle and Chelsea, as well as a 4-2 victory over Stoke at Old Trafford. Fergie, who is celebrating 26 years in charge at United, has now won 27 monthly honours since thePremier League came into existence. Speaking about the gong, the Scot said: “I’m pleased with our attacking play, that’s been a feature of our game. “We’ve had an issue aboutdefending, but in Saturday’s win against Arsenal we were back to what I expect of Manchester United defenders.” Chelsea playmaker Mata, who netted three goals during October, credits his link-up with team-mates Eden Hazard and Oscar. He added: “I’m really enjoying it, they’re playerswho like to play with the ball, to assist and who have good movement — more or less like me.”
Juan Mata has been named the Barclays Premier League Player of the Month for October. The Spaniard has been in excellent form recently and has rightly been recognised after a run of seven goals in as many games across all competitions, including league strikes against Arsenal, Tottenham and Manchester United, and a string of assists that make him the division's top creator over the past year. Mata ended last season as the first player to win the club's Player of the Year award in his debut season since Ruud Gullit, and after a summer schedule that included Euro 2012 and Olympic Games duty, he was allowed a short break by manager Roberto Di Matteo before returning to Chelsea duty and forging an effective relationship alongside Oscar and Eden Hazard in behind the striker. It is the first time Mata has won the award, and he becomes the first Chelsea player to do so since David Luiz in March 2011. 'I'm very grateful for this award. It's very important to keep going and improve because I am still young,' the 2 ...
Report: Guardiola Favors Chelsea Former Barcelona FC coach Pep Guardiola, who is currently on sabbatical with his family in New York City, “has made it known to his close circle of advisors that Chelsea is his preferred choice” when he decides to return to coaching, the Daily Mail reports. Apparently, the 41-year-old is attracted to the types of players that Chelsea is signing, namely, Juan Mata, Eden Hazard and Oscar. Under Guardiola, Barcelona had an astonishing 72 percent winning record in La Liga. He is widely credited with taking Frank Rijkaard’s 2006 UEFA Champions League-winning team to another level, which culminated in the 3-1 defeat of Manchester United at Wembley in 2011. Lionel Messi, Xavi, and Andres Iniesta all rose to prominence during Guardiola's reign.
Another stand out performance from new Chelsea boy, Victor Moses as he scored his first league goal for the European Champions against Swansea on Saturday. Moses started the match with Mikel Obi and he was a live wire throughout his stay on the pitch. Moses had the highest rating for Chelsea in the match against Swansea - a mirror of last season's outcome. Moses scored from a header from very close range to the top left corner after Eden Hazard's corner kick had been flicked on by Gary Cahill. He could have scored earlier through a header from close range in the centre of the box but that effort was some way off target. Moses was also the man of the match last Wednesday when he helped Chelsea to a 5-4 win over Manchester United in the Capital One Cup. Obi also had a strong game showing both his defensive and offensive capabilities. He blocked a goal bound shot in the 34th minute from Jonathan De Guzman. Nedum Onuoha played for nine minutes for Queens Park Rangers against Reading on Sunday as Rangers earne ...
Chelsea Manager Talking Nonsense November 1, 2012 70 Comments An incorrect match-defining decision was witnessed at Stamford Bridge on Sunday which likely had a huge impact on the result. Manchester United only won the game 3-2 but if Fernando Torres has been sent off for kicking Tom Cleverley in the chest in the first half, when Chelsea were still losing 2-1, who knows how many goals United would have won by… Last night the two teams faced each other again. Whilst Chelsea resorted to playing the likes of Petr Cech, Juan Mata, David Luiz, John Obi Mikel, Oscar, Eden Hazard and Ramires, United played a team of second string players and youth. In fact, the only player to remain from Sunday’s first choice line up was Rafael Da Silva. “We wanted to show that Sunday’s game was really heavily influenced by the officials,” Roberto Di Matteo said after the game. How? By fielding almost your strongest team to scrape a 5-4 victory against United’s fringe players and kids? United took the lead three time ...
Sorry to friends if I hurt you guys feelings yesterday~ I was so emotional about Chelsea FC drawing with Swansea City fc.. But know this, I do not like to make fun of, especially by Manchester United fans, coz they only bark when they win, and they always win a controversial win, suited by the name Mancheater United~ We lost the top spot to them, but enjoy it while it last, coz it won't be long until we triumphed into the in the league again~ Roberto Di Matteo did a tactical change which is disadvantage in my opinion yesterday, whereby instead of subbing Fernando Torres., he subbed Moses, thus losing the possession of midfield. Torres didn't deserved to start the game, yet playing 90 mins. Marko Marin was not used in the bench, and Juan Mata was sorely missed, since there is no creativity from the midfield. Without the golden three, Oscar, and Eden Hazard was struggling to break the defence, ended up getting substituted in the end. Chelsea will meet Shakhtar Donetsk and Liverpool FC at Stamford Bridge, ne ...
Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson says being knocked out of the League Cup by Chelsea was a "sore lesson" for his "young" side. Chelsea made two defensive errors as Ryan Giggs and Javier Hernandez scored either side of David Luiz's penalty. Gary Cahill made it 2-2 but it appeared Nani's chipped finish would win it, before Eden Hazard's spot-kick. Daniel Sturridge and Ramires both registered in extra time before Giggs added a late consolation penalty, with the match finishing 5-4 to the Blues.
The value of Manchester United's IX that finished yesterdays Capital One Cup is £31.5 million. Eden Hazard is valued currently at £32 million. Moral Lesson: Man U spends more of its revenue paying Referees.
Bradford will host Arsenal in the English League Cup quarterfinals while Leeds have been handed a home tie against Chelsea. Elsewhere, Swansea host Middlesbrough and Aston Villa travel to Norwich. Chelsea were handed a trip to old rivals Leeds as a reward for their comeback win over Manchester United on Wednesday night. Roberto Di Matteo's side claimed a 5-4 extra-time victory over the Red Devils after forcing the additional period courtesy of Eden Hazard's last-gasp penalty. The Blues' trip to Elland Road will excite both sets of fans, while Ken Bates - former owner of Chelsea and currently in the process of selling Leeds - will be another interested observer. Neil Warnock's side have already dispensed with two top-flight opponents in the competition, knocking out Everton 2-1 and Southampton 3-0 - both on home turf. Chelsea boss Di Matteo told Sky Sports: "Playing away is always difficult and Leeds and Chelsea have a bit of history there as well. "It will be an interesting game." The lowest-ranked side s ...

Drama, disgust as United beat nine-man Chelsea On October 28, 2012 · In Sports 7:35 pm . LONDON (AFP) – Javier Hernandez’s controversial winning goal gave Manchester United a dramatic 3-2 victory against nine-man Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Sunday. The result ensured Alex Ferguson’s side reduced the gap on Roberto Di Matteo’s Premier League leaders to just one point, but the Blues were left fuming at the performance of referee Mark Clattenburg. Chelsea had recovered from falling behind to a David Luiz own goal and a Robin Van Persie strike to level through goals from Juan Mata and Ramires when Branislav Ivanovic was sent off for a 63rd-minute foul on Ashley Young. More contentious, though, was the second yellow card shown to Fernando Torres five minutes later, after the referee had decided the striker dived following a challenge by Jonny Evans. Replays suggested there had been contact between the two players and the decision sparked fury on the Chelsea bench that led to a touchline altercation ...
Chelsea... no doubt was the better team today. A very very spirited performance by the blues and truly very unlucky to have two players sent off. Also the goal by Javier Hernandez was a slight offside . All in all the result in Stamford Bridge could have been a draw or maybe even gone Chelsea's way had things been the normal. Its has been proved again that Juan Mata and Eden Hazard are lethal weapons that Chelsea possess. Manchester United made a really good start , and between got a few chances too but a little sluggishness and good performance by Juan Mata saw us lose the lead. No fan likes his team to win because of wrong decisions by the referee.Manchester United players cannot be held responsible for the decisions that went against the Blues. Referee and assistants had a bad game . But its the game and it has happened before. Three valuable points gained.. Glory Glory Manchester United.
Ini handizivi kuti zvivindi mukuzviwanepi iye Fergie ari kutya Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has pinpointed three main Chelsea threats ahead of the sides’ clash on Super Sunday, as reported by The Sun. Oscar, Eden Hazard and Juan Mata were all singled out in Fergie’s press conference as being a major threat to United but the Manchester United boss is hoping to find a way to deal with them on Sunday. “Chelsea always had that alternative route of playing with Didier Drogba up front, “They could play it long or they could play it through midfield. “Now it’s straightforward. It’s through midfield all the time. “But it’s not an easy system to deal with. Oscar and Hazard are similar type players. And with Mata as well they all play in behind the main striker. “We just have to find a way of dealing with it.”

What would you do If u had these players: 1. Podolski 2. Wayne Rooney 3. Eden Hazard 4.Robin Van Persie 5. Lukas Modric Were attacking your goal in FIFA 12 for Manchester United.
I am not a Barca fan, but I think Edwin Van daser views on CR7, to be superior over Messi I disagree, even sir Alex Ferguson, Wenger even Mourinho cant say this. So, Edwin can say what he likes, CR7 is his former team mate at Manchester United. Edwin saying Ronaldo is more better than Messi is laughable. We've seeing Messi versus Manchester United, CR7 and Vandersa severally n little Leo hve always been their tormentor in chief. A true ball of Leo Messi in 2009 UCL final almost sent Van daser to his timely grave. people are doing evry thing possible to see Messi not win D Ballon'dorm for D 4th time setting a new world record jst out of sheer jealousy and envy. I think should be anyone who deserve outside Messi, it is also a Barcelona player as no one in Mourinho's Real Madrid, should Cristiano deserve it, then Didier Drogba, Oscar n Eden Hazard of Chelsea also deserve it. But for me I dnt either of them wouldn't win it this term, but next term, Messi will to nick it for the 4th time.
Okay, so let's face it. Manchester United can't rely on old fellas like Paul Scholes and Ryan Giggs throughout the whole season, and they definitely need to get rid of old players like Carrick, Ferdinand and Evra. They need to promote the youngsters up the ranks. Youngsters like Chris Powell and Alex Buttner has potentials. If needed they should sign more young players who has the potentials. If Chelsea can sign the likes of Oscar and Eden Hazard, then with the huge money potentials of Man United, recruiting potential young players shouldn't be a problem for Man United.

Despite the headline signings of Eden Hazard to Chelsea, Robin van Perise to Manchester United, and Luka Modric to Real Madrid, it's Paris Saint Germain who have made the biggest splash in the 2012 summer Transfer Market. The Ligue 1 club secured the signatures of three of the ten most expensive players during the recent window, which closed for business on Friday evening, not to reopen again until January. Brazilian attacking midfielder Lucas Moura - another player bound for the French capital - was actually the biggest deal negotiated this window, with €45 million set to change hands between PSG and Sao Paulo. But, with the 19-year-old playmaker arriving in January, the transfer will count towards the 2013 mid-season window. In ascending order, GiveMeFootball lists the top ten most expensive summer signings: 10. Zlatan Ibrahimovic | AC Milan to PSG | £16m 9. Santi Cazorla | Malaga to Arsenal | £16m 8. Javi Garcia | Benfica to Manchester City | £16m 7. Ezequiel Lavezzi | Napoli to PSG | £24m 6. Rob ...

Manchester City are aiming to complete the signing of Inter Milan defender Maicon and Benfica's Javi Garcia before the transfer deadline. Brazil's Maicon, 31, is available for around £5m and boss Roberto Mancini wants him as cover for Pablo Zabaleta. The £24m-rated Garcia has become a possible new target after Mancini's main midfield target, Daniele de Rossi, decided to stay at Roma. Fiorentina defender Matija Nastasic is also set to sign for City on Friday. The Serbian teenager will cost the Premier League champions around £12m - with Stefan Savic going in the opposite direction to Italy. Swansea's Scott Sinclair should also confirm a £6.2m deal with City on Friday. Mancini insisted City faced a busy five days in the market after the 2-2 draw at Liverpool on Sunday and they have responded as the deadline approaches. City signed Everton's Jack Rodwell in a £12m deal but decided against pursuing deals for Robin Van Persie, who went to Manchester United for £24m, and Eden Hazard, the Belgium internati ...

Eden Hazard (Chelsea, £32 million) It seemed Chelsea secured three trophies within a month: they held off Liverpool to win the FA Cup, saw off Bayern Munich to lift the Champions League and fought off Manchester City and Manchester United to buy Eden Hazard.
Manchester United to give Robin Van Persie’s agent what he wants? Could it finally happen? Sir Alex Ferguson is actually going to succumb to agent power? Well, that’s the speculation doing the rounds today. It seems like Sir Alex has finally conceded that one has to deal with agents to secure marquee signings in modern day football. After losing out on Eden Hazard and Lucas Moura (partly) due to their agent’s demands it is being reported that Manchester United are prepared to give a substantial fee to RVP’s agent Kees Vos. Goal.com had broken the story that Mr. Vos wanted 4 million pounds to broker a deal for Robin Van Persie and his demands threatened to derail any potential move from Arsenal. Recently, however, it has been widely claimed by the media that CEO David Gill will personally step into negotiate with the man who matters at Arsenal – Chairman Peter Hill Wood. Gauging from media reports, it looks like RVP has agreed personal terms with United but the transfer fee and the agent’s fee ...

First Eden Hazard and then Lucas Moura! Who next to troll Manchester United? Sir Alex Ferguson's comment on it ," If you pay 35 million pounds on 19 year old boy, you know how much mad this game has gone"
Wenger doing everything to stop Van Persie moving to Man United. So now we all know that Sir Alex Ferguson really is trying hard to get Arsenal to sell Robin Van Persie to Manchester United from his comments last night, but at least now we also know that Arsene Wenger is doing his utmost to find a different buyer (hopefully in another country) to keep him out of Ferguson’s clutches. The last thing Arsenal fans want to see is our captain move to a direct Premiership rival, but the absolute worst-case scenario would be for him to go to Old Trafford. Thankfully for us, Ferguson made it clear that Arsenal are completely ignoring their offer and refusing to even talk to them about it. “We’ve made a bid, they [Arsenal] have been trying to negotiate with other clubs,” said the Man United manager. “I don’t have a gut feeling about it. We can’t get a breakthrough with Arsenal. “I don’t know what Arsenal’s thoughts are because they’re not giving anything away,” “It’s difficult to say why ...

Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson is thought to be disappointed at potentially missing out on transfer target Lucas Moura, especially having failed to land Eden Hazard earlier in the summer
Gareth Bale was highly rated by Ferguson, but chose Spurs, Samir Nasri opted for their City rivals, and Eden Hazard teased Old Trafford before selecting Stamford Bridge. Throw in Luka Modric, and the stuttering pursuit of Lucas Moura and Robin Van Persie, and Manchester United have a worringly record -analyst
Sir Alex Ferguson has reportedly all but given up on signing Lucas Moura, while Robin Van Persie looks set to have slipped through his net as well - but such transfer near-misses are nothing new for Manchester United fans. The Old Trafford faithful have become used to dealing with the high hopes of a summer transfer window, and the despondent resignation of another failed transfer pursuit. The window itself is a strange arrangement, sort of like a giant stock exchange, but where people are traded, rather than stocks and shares, and often for gigantic multi-million fees. Clubs buy and sell with a view to gain, whether that be through sell-on profits or improved squads and better on-pitch results. And like any gamble there has to be winners and losers. Sometimes winning the race to sign a player can turn into a massive loss financially - Alberto Aquilani for example - but other times winning that race ensures your rivals miss out - Eden Hazard as another example. One club's gain, is another's loss. With the ...
Chelsea boosted by £50m Champions League winnings Roman Abramovich will have welcomed the cash injection, having forked out over £40 million for the additions of Eden Hazard, Marko Marin and Kevin De Bruyne recently. Chelsea have received a huge cash reward for their Champions League triumph over Bayern Munich in May, picking up almost £50 million in prize money. The Blues' penalty shoot-out victory at the Allianz Arena saw them unsurprisingly take home the biggest payout of the clubs which took part. Losing finalists Bayern earned £33m from the £595m prize fund shared among 32 participating teams. Despite being eliminated at the group stage of the competition, Manchester United were England's second highest earners, receiving a sum of £28m. Rivals Manchester City, who were also knocked out early on, took around £21m for their efforts. Arsenal, who went further in the competition, only to be eliminated by AC Milan over two legs, took £22m into the Emirates Stadium coffers. English clubs are reward ...

Moussa Dembele's agent insists the Fulham midfielder can replace Frank Lampard at local rivals Chelsea. Dembele's current deal at Craven Cottage runs out at the end of next season and he is reportedly being chased by Chelsea and Manchester United over a possible £10 million transfer. When asked about Chelsea's interest, Linse said: "It fits Mousa’s ambitions perfectly to become the replacement for someone like Frank Lampard one day, just as playing in the Champions League does as well." The former AZ Alkmaar player moved to Craven Cottage from Holland in 2010 and could now make the short trip to Fulham's local rivals at Stamford Bridge. Chelsea are also close to signing Dembele's countryman, Eden Hazard, as they look to rebuild their squad with Europe's top young talent.

Chelsea and Manchester United are planning to bid for Fulham attacker Moussa Dembele. The Sun says it means Dembele could join his Belgian team-mate Eden Hazard at Stamford Bridge. Fulham had been hoping to keep Dembele, 24, who has successfully switched from a midfield role. But he has only one year left on his contract and is not ready to agree a new deal as he is well aware of interest from the big clubs. Manchester United are also keeping tabs on Dembele and could challenge Chelsea if they make a firm offer.

Not sure why Manchester United need Eden Hazard when he exactly plays in the position Rooney likes to play in, e.g. in the hole. United are also filled with expert wingers in Young, Nani, and Valencia (can also add Park and Giggs to fill them part-time). No need for 40 million pound substitute. I don't know, but someone like Leon Britton (e.g. Xavi-lite) might be more helpful to circulate the ball.
