Manchester United Forum Young hoping to maintain Man Utd momentum after 'fantastic' win Young told MUTV: “I think we showed, especially from the first minute, that we wanted to stop them from playing straight away. “I think we did that. The way we played and dominated the game was fantastic. We’re just disappointed to let them score and concede that penalty. “It’s always nice to be involved with the winning team; it’s always nice to win. We’re playing well, and things are going well on this run. We want to keep the momentum going and I think we showed how well we have been doing. “When you’re playing with confidence, you put in performances in the way that not just myself, but the whole team are doing. It’s fantastic to be involved in. As long as we keep this run going, I don’t think there are many teams that will be able to stop us.” [ManchesterEven ingNews] What do you think about Ashley Young's performances this season - has he deserved his place in the first team?

Ashley Young reveals Luke Shaw is travelling with Man Utd to face Spurs and could make return
Imagine a referee from, say, Walsall being allowed to referee Villa v Man Utd - and the reaction if he sent off Ashley Young.
Radamel Falcao made his fourth league start for Manchester United and scored his second goal Falcao header cancels out Benteke goal Man Utd prevented seven straight wins Agbonlahor sent off in second half United third, seven points off top Ten-man Aston Villa ended Manchester United's six-game winning run with a hard- earned draw at Villa Park. United dominated possession but fell behind to Christian Benteke's superb left- foot strike before Radamel Falcao headed them level after the break. Gabriel Agbonlahor was dismissed for a heavy tackle on Ashley Young, prompting United pressure and Michael Carrick's header was cleared off the line. They could not force a winner and sit seven points behind leaders Chelsea. The Blues could extend that lead if they win their game in hand at Stoke on Monday and United will look back at a timid first-half display as costly. Manager Louis Van Gaal asked his side to be better with ball before kick-off and they obliged with 76% of possession in the opening half an hour. But ...
Manchester United have been held to a 1-1 draw by the 10 men of Aston Villa in a keenly-contested game at Villa Park this afternoon. The result has brought an end to a six-game winning streak for Louis Van Gaal's side, but they remain in the top three of the Premier League. Man Utd saw much of the ball in the opening 15 minutes but couldn't create any chances with their superior possession. Their lack of creativity came back to haunt them in the 18th minute as Christian Benteke bent a measured shot inside the far post from inside the box after Jonny Evans was unable to deal with a deep free kick. United were soon on the front foot again as they penned the hosts inside their own half, but a wall of claret and blue shirts prevented them from carving open any opportunities. After a Villa counter attack broke down, Man Utd almost got a goal back as Ashley Young's inswinging cross evaded everyone inside the box, but Brad Guzan clawed it away just as it looked to be creeping inside the far post. Radamel Falcao ...
GREAT FOOTBALL BUT Red Devils DROP POINTS AGAINST 10 VILLAINS.CITY JOIN CHELSEA ON TOP! Man Utd dominated possession but were held 1-1 at Aston Villa. (Better to win without playing well!) Christian Benteke scored a beauty after 19 minutes but Radamel Falcao starting for the first time since October 5 equalised through a brilliant header off a fabulous cross from Ashley Young. With 25 minutes remaining, Gabriel Agbonlahor was controversially and harshly sent off by referee Lee Mason for a foul on Young. Angel Di Maria was introduced but did little to change matters on the field. Earlier, noisey neighbours Man City moved to 39 points and only goal difference separates the Citizens from Chelsea after a 3-0 victory over Crystal Palace. Super David Silva struck twice while stand in skipper Yaya Toure added the cherry on the cake. Emmanuel Mayuka did not even make the bench as Southampton stopped the winless rot with a riotous 3-0 triumph against Everton. Other results today: QPR 3-2 West Brom Tottenham Hotspu ...
FT: Aston Villa 1-1 Man Utd My Verdict So our 6 game winning steak has come to an end but were still unbeaten which is good, Benteke's goal was class but dreadful defending from Evans and I agree Darren Fletcher didn't play great today, Mata didn't have a brilliant game but he played better in the second half, The red card in a way looked unfair but it's the referees decision and that's final, we didn't really create brilliant chances after that, Ashley Young played shocking crosses in the box in the final 10 minutes but one did ball off when Falcao headed in which was a great goal, in which you have to give Ashley Young credit for, apart from that it was a fair draw even though we had 70% of possession most of the game which we didn't take advantage of, Jones had a great game looking solid and all the other lads played alright today, we just have to move to our next game against Newcastle at home on Boxing Day and motivate ourselves for that game and hope for a win and obviously Believe! Man Utd convincingly beat Madrid in ICC Kwame Boakye | 00:12 | 03.08.2014 Manchester United win 3-1 against Real Madrid in International Champions Cup to make the final This was without doubt the biggest pre-season game for the upcoming 2014/2015 season. And had an equally biggest attendance in football in the history of US soccer games. Manchester United had the chance to avenge their UEFA Champions League elimination by Madrid last season. And under new manager Louis Van Gaal, the Red Devils were buoyed than ever. Real Madrid had their pride at stake and were never going to make it an easy game for the English Premier League side. The game had an early exchange of good attacking football with both sides not showing intent of letting down. Manchester United however got the first goal. Daren Fletcher from the right wing gave a neat pass to Wayne Rooney whose back flick beat the Madrid defenders. Danny Welbeck picked up the ball and laid for Ashley Young on the left hand side to slot home. An inexperienced ...

MOYES: TRUST ME ON ZAHA. HE HAS MAN UTD FUTURE, Manchester United boss David Moyes has urged fans to trust him over his handling of Wilfried Zaha. Zaha, frozen out by Moyes, has been loaned to Cardiff City , where he was outstanding on debut in victory over Norwich City last week. "At times you have to believe what the manager is seeing as well," Moyes said. "There is big competition for those wide areas. "When I came in, I had Antonio Valencia, Nani and Ashley Young. Then we had the emergence of Adnan (Januzaj). Shinji (Kagawa) can play off one of the sides. "I have seen Wilfried training every day as well. I am privy to that." Indeed, Zaha had been told he could go out on loan if the opportunity arose, only for injuries to delay his exit until the end of last month. "We might have got him on loan even earlier but for the (hamstring) injury to Nani. I just wanted to see how that was," Moyes said. "It is good for him, it is good for his development. Everybody will have a chance to see how he plays. "The i ...

Howard Webb? He is a Man Utd referee lol. How was Hugo Lloris not sent off for that blatant foul on Ashley Young? Replays show Lloris handled outside his area too in the first half. Those accusations can now rest-Webb is just bad at times.

GOAL! A smashing goal from Ashley Young will bring relief to David Moyes side with Stoke withdrawing and playing a more defensive game. The game changer has to be Hernandez who came on for Anderson. Stoke 0-1 Man Utd
Stoke 0-1 Man Utd - Ashley Young with the goal from 25 yards out
HALFTIME VERDICT: Man Utd still haven't created a clear cut chance for Danny Welbeck, who is up there on his own. The wing creativity supposedly run by Ashley Young and Antonio Valencia aren't doing enough yet they supposed to win it for United. Instead, Evra is looking the creative architect bombing forward and trying to get balls in the box. The middle park of Anderson and Tom Cleverley have had little penetrating into the Stoke box. It is not enough to keep the ball and throwing it sideways. Getting it forward is the real deal. Moyes can only get it if he gets Shinji Kagawa to help Welbeck. Stoke 0-0 Man Utd

England v Scotland: Ashley Young out of squad with ankle injury: from BBC Football - Man Utd
Man Utd's huge lead hides some glaring underperformers: Welbeck & Nani only have 1 goal while Ashley Young & Valencia have 0 goals so far.
I'd love Man Utd to sign James Rodriguez from Porto, he's a great plsyet and sell either Ashley Young, Antonio Valencia or Nani in the summ.
Man Utd need to shuffle things up this summer, sell Valencia or Young, Anderson and perhaps Nani if reports are true that he's moving. I think Anderson has been given enough time but has not fullfilled. Valencia has had a terrible season, and it seems he's been found out by the oppositon. Ashley Young is a good squad player but won't take United to CL glory, while Wayne Rooney 'my best player' at United, finds his future in danger after being left out of Sir Alex's plans against Real. If United decide to sell either or both Young and Valencia, Anderson, Nani and [dear i say Wazza] it would fetch the club over 100m. That £100m plus Fergie's £50m summer transfer kitty makes it [150m] which can be used to buy Ronaldo for 55m, we could also invest in a class midfielder like [Gotze or Strootman and left and centre backs in [Hummels and Baines]. If we get Ronaldo then no way are Real allowing us to get Bale!

[Fulham - Manchester United Preview: Visitors looking to add to six-game unbeaten run against the Cottagers] Fulham manager Martin Jol will be without Simon Davies (knee), Kerim Frei (groin) and Mahamadou Diarra (knee) for the clash with the league leaders at Craven Cottage. Kieran Richardson also remains a doubt with a calf injury and star man Dimitar Berbatov will miss the game against his former club after picking up a slight hamstring tear during the win against West Ham. The club's two January transfer window loan signings, Urby Emanuelson and Emmanuel Frimpong, could also be involved at some stage from the substitutes bench. Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson will be missing Darren Fletcher, who is out until the end of the season with illness, while Ashley Young (knee) and Jonny Evans (hamstring) are also both doubtful to make the trip to Craven Cottage. Fulham's 3-1 win against West Ham was their first in eight league outings. The hosts have picked up eight points from their ...

Sir Alex Ferguson makes just one change from last Sunday's Premier League victory over Liverpool, with Phil Jones coming into the Manchester United side in place of Ashley Young. Robin Van Persie and Danny Welbeck are partnered in attack, with Shinji Kagawa lurking in behind. Rio Ferdinand and Nemanja Vidic continue at the heart of the defence.
Man Utd will *** the knee injuries to Ashley Young & Nemanja Vidic Not again.. Hopefully it's not bad
What a Arsenal joker comparing the present Arsenal squad to Man Utd's! Over the past 3/5 seasons its been proved, that the likes of Rooney, Valencia, Evra, Ferdinand, Vidic, Carrick, Scholes, Welbeck and Ashley Young are too much for Arsenal. The Arsenal fans really need to check the Man Utd v Arsenal head to heads in the past 13 to 14 matches. It will show your poor record against Man Utd, who were beating you even with the likes of Fabregas, Nasri, Clichy and Rvp. Remember that famous comment by Evra. " Men against boys" And now Rvp has joined Man Utd after listening to the "little boy inside his heart" plus the addition of Shinji Kagawa from Dortmand, and the likes of Jones, Smalling and Rafael devoloping and setteling fine into there postions the gap will only widen. We have better team believe, a great team leader and a strong figure in Sir Alex Ferguson who does only the best for MUFC and gets the best out of his team!
Don't remember Fergie ranting at the officials when Man Utd got decisions go for them due to Ashley Young's constant cheating!
Credits to - Man Utd ? Does it spell G-A-Y ? Alex Ferguson: "Manchester City got 21 penalties last year. If we got that number there would be inquiry in the House Of Commons." Roberto Mancini on reply: "I remember very well last season when Ashley Young was swimming, making a diving motion with his hands. I think United had four or five penalties in the last 10 games and then Ferguson didn't say anything. Most of their penalties in last 15 years have been debateable" Take that Fergie! -RS
Reading v Man Utd (1730 GMT) Rio Ferdinand returns to the Manchester United defence for their trip to Reading, while Wayne Rooney and Ashley Young will support Robin Van Persie up front. For Reading, Danny Guthrie returns from injury but only makes the bench. Adam Le Fondre and Jason Roberts will spearhead the Royals' attack.
Man Utd's poor midfield is exposed again, lacked creativty and service to Rvp and Hernandez in the first half. Absolute disgrace to watch. Both wingers Valencia and Ashley Young did very ordinary, while Giggs needs to call it a day now!
I'm of the opinion that the No 7 shirt should be withdrawn from Antonio Valencia. He's game is dipped since taking on that number. Ashley young is a total waste of Man Utd funds.
Aston Villa v Man Utd (17:30 GMT) Sir Alex Ferguson makes six changes from the Manchester United side that beat Braga in the Champions League on Wednesday. Rio Ferdinand, Rafael Da Silva, Paul Scholes, Michael Carrick, Ashley Young and Robin Van Persie all return to the starting line-up, with the injured pair of Jonny Evans and Nani ruled out. Ryan Giggs, Danny Welbeck, Nani, Anderson and Javier Hernandez are all left out. Aston Villa manager Paul Lambert makes just the one change from the team that beat Sunderland 1-0 Sunderland last Saturday and it's an enforced one, with Enda Stevens selected in place of the injured Joe Bennett.
Hw can my Luis Nani nt be complainin when da likes of Patrice Evra,Johnny Evans,Ashley Young,Darren Fletcher and David De Gea are collecting more weekly wages than him.I tink dis da ryt for pple to undstnd and stop critisizin dis Boy,I luv Nani more dan any player in Man Utd.ggmu
...the same referee has send of Shaun Derry and gave a penalty to Man Utd for a clear Dive from from Ashley Young (that was offside)
Chelsea still crying about the two sending off decsions! (The football law states clear) if the last defender standing brings down his opponent on a clear goal scoring opportunity then the referee has the power to send the defender off ! Ashley Young was clean on goal and had it not been for Ivanovic, 9/10 he would have restored United's lead with 11 men each. But I see Chelsea FC fought the law did not apply at the Bridge last night and expected the ref to turn a blind eye ! The second red was a clear over the top dive. Fine Evans caught Torres with a tender touch but it was nothing as bad as Torres made it look - and nothing as bad as Torres's own two foot high tackle which caught Cleverly between his neck and chest just before half time. Thanks to Cleverly not making a meal or else Torres was very lucky not to be red-carded for that !
Well done referee. Why are Chelski fans crying? Ivanosvic brought down a clean through, on goal, Ashley Young. While Fernando Torres got red-carded for his own doings - fine Evans caught him with the tender off touches but not what he made of it. Also what goes about comes around .. Remember Drogba's BIG BIG off-side goal at Old Trafford that won Chelsea the league a few years back! Also a few recent decisions went against United at the bridge I recall the Carrick accidental hand-ball which resulted in a penalty and Chelski won it! Then a John Terry header in which he pushed a United player but it was not spotted by any of the match officials and Chelski won that encounter aswell! Well done Man Utd - now bring on Wilshire and Arsenal !
The referee was absolutely spot on to send Ivanosvic off! He was the last defender with Ashley Young who was clean through on goal and all set to restore United's lead. While Fernando Torres who should have been red-carded in the closing stages of the first half after a terrible high footed tackle in Tom Cleverly's chest, seemed more interested in getting Johnny Evans sent off, than scoring, after going down in "Torres style" from the slightest of contacts !
better without saying Ashley Young.try I went out as a Man Utd and England winger. doesn't telegraph the end as much

Ashley Young back for Man Utd against Stoke...we need you mann!!!
I hope Nemanja Vidic,Chris Smalling,Phil Jones,Antonio Valencia,Ashley Young will back as soon as possible because Man Utd really need them especially for Centre Back.,poor performance by Defender tonight.:)
Danny Welbeck; Ashley Young & NOW Antonio Valencia have "perfected" the art of "diving". Clearly, Man Utd have gained something from their Champions League experiences...Ivanovic (of Chelsea) should go attend classes at Old Trafford - after trying on 3 occassions in one match, he is in desperate need of them.
Harvinchal Man Utd were outplayed when Liverpool had 11 men on the pitch. Man Utd were outplayed when Liverpool had 10 men on the pitch. The ref had a big say on where the points ended up today and Liverpool has a very strong case to argue that they were cheated out of a point at least today. That red card was never a red card. The moment that tackle happened united players were crowing around the ref to get Jonjo sent off. Evans also lunged in with 2 feet so he should have been sent off. I guess if Jonjo stayed on the ground and rolled around a few times, then probably Evans would have got sent off. The penalty was a joke. Valencia felt a hand on his lower back and went down like a sack of potatoes. less Fair Play12 I am an Arsenal fun, but I feel so sorry for Liverpool they lost the game yesterday to Man United, due to ref's decisions. I am gutted, sick, and find no proper words to describe my emotional state I was during the game when seeing the referee decisions. I just cannot comprehend how a referee ...

Why don't Man Utd move into the Olympic stadium instead of West Ham? It would save the vast majority of their fans a 400 mile round trip every home game, Ashley Young and Nani could use the Aquatics centre to perfect their diving & Rio Ferdinand would be a lot nearer his best mate John Terry!

I am a Man Utd and an England fan but I would have felt embarrassed had we gone through on that performance. And the more I watch him, the more I'm convinced Rooney is not a world-class player, far from it; he's just an over-hyped bottler!!! Equally, Ashley Young along with a few others, shouldn't b in the team. reiterating my opinion about Woy; he is a joker n s*** coach! He knows not what he's doing!.

Rivals brand Man Utd "nomoney.com" over lack of transfer spending Premier League rivals are questioning the spending power of Manchester United. The Telegraph says having spent almost £50 million on Phil Jones, David De Gea and Ashley Young last year, United are unlikely to invest a similarly high figure during this close season. One senior figure at a leading Premier League club claimed privately last week that United had earned the condescending tag of ‘nomoney.com’ within boardrooms because of their reluctance, or inability, to compete at the top end of the transfer market in recent seasons. United were outbid by Manchester City for former Arsenal midfielder Samir Nasri last summer and are facing a similar fate 12 months on in the battle for Lille ace Eden Hazard. Smalling goes really close with a header. 43 mins: Still all United, apart from a hopeful long-range effort from Sigurdsson that De Gea gathers without worry. GOAL! 41 mins: Bit too much of a good thing from Swansea as they look to play their way out of trouble. Joe Allen's soft clearance is intercepted, and Scholes tees up Rooney. Wazza's control deserts him, and it looks like the chance has gone... but it breaks to Ashley Young, who sidefoots home with great care from the edge of the box. That's two. Man Utd 2 Swansea 0 (Young 41) 40 mins: It's all United a the moment as they press for a second before half-time. Swans looking stretched.
