"Wayne Rooney hasn't the right mentality or discipline to be a world class player" - Joey Barton. This is coming from the same man who has been sent off 8 times in his career, stubbed a lit cigar into the eye of a young team mate while at Man City, broke the leg of a pensioner while driving his car at 2am in Liverpool city centre, had a public altercation with a 15 year old Everton fan in Bangkok, dropped his shorts infront of live television cameras while playing against Everton, was arrested on suspicion of assault and criminal damage after an incident with a taxi driver, hospitalised a team mate after a fight at Man City's training ground, was arrested and jailed for 6 months for assault after his involvement in a pub brawl, punches Morten Gamst Pedersen in the stomach during a match while playing for Newcastle United, got sold by Newcastle United to QPR after publicly criticising Alan Shearer and finally charged by the FA £75,000 for assaulting Vincent Kompany and Sergio Aguero in 2012. Well..Well..we've had a nice weekend..Man United back with a bang and Man City yet again losses to Wigan Athletic! Next week we're facing Liverpool who doesn't have any match this week..So they're probably well rested and likely to be strong..But that ain't a problem..We as a whole team have made a improvement and found a new pair in Phil Jones and Chris Smalling. Also..with Fellaini our mid field has improved. Juan Mata, Wayne Rooney and RVP lead attack. However, DM in recent Press Conference stated that Shinji Kagawa will be given more playing time. This's a good news to all of us. The lad gave a cameo against West Brom. Meanwhile, Michael Keane, the promising centre back is loaned for the rest of the season to Blackburn Rovers!!

EPL Transfer Updates Mata may decide EPL race By Adebayo Olodan With four teams currently neck-to-neck in the race for the 2013/14 EPL title, the recent transfer of Juan Mata from Chelsea to rivals Man Utd for a record £37m may decide who will be crowned champion in May. Much was written when Romelu Lukaku was permitted to join Everton on loan, and given his talent and impact on Chelsea’s direct rivals, perhaps it was a Mourinho master-stroke. But if Chelsea falls short this season due to striking deficiencies, it could be a case of smart but not smart enough. While Man Utd has already played Chelsea home and away, their title rivals, Man City, Arsenal and Liverpool are all yet to play the league champion in the EPL return fixture. Although United are unlikely to make a push for the league title as they are currently 14 points behind the leaders, a Mata playing behind the recuperating Robin Van Persie and Wayne Rooney may see the team take points off Man City, Arsenal and Liverpool in the reverse fixt ...

Arsenal are hoping to complete a £36 million deal for Julian Draxler by the end of the January transfer window. Julian Draxler is also desperate to join Arsenal this month. Aston Villa are closing in on the loan signing of Barcelona starlet Jean Marie Dongou. The 18-year-old striker is a La Masia graduate and has made three appearances for the Catalans this season. Aston Villa have joined the race for Man City defender Joleon Lescott, who grew up in Birmingham as a Villa fan. He's also been linked with West Ham and Fulham. Joleon Lescott's move from Manchester City to West Ham is in doubt as Sam Allardyce's side are weighing up whether to match the defender's £90,000-a-week wage. Manchester United version 2013-14: Simply not good enough By AlexThanopoulos, Picture this: Tottenham and manager Andre Villas-Boas, coming off a 6-0 battering at the hands of Man City, have Man United next up at home. AVB and Co., still licking their wounds, find a Manchester United team sheet that consists of Danny Welbeck, Tom Cleverley and Antonio Valencia partnering Wayne Rooney and Shinji Kagawa in attack. Throw in a defence that leaks more than Julian Assange, and all of a sudden you have a team that can believe that can be up against the reigning Premier League Champions and think “this doesn’t look a daunting task.” Quite frankly it isn’t, and it wasn’t. They drew 2-2. We all know that David MoyesManchester United are struggling. Loses to the hands of Manchester City and Liverpool are not rare in United’s dominant history. Losses to West Brom and Everton at home, as well as conceding late equalisers to Southampton and Cardiff, are not. This season United simply doesn’t have that ...
Wayne Rooney salvaged a 2-2 draw for Manchester United at Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday but the Premier League champions lost further ground as Chelsea and Manchester City offered further evidence that they will lead the pursuit of Arsenal. Chelsea recovered from going behind after 13 seconds to beat Southampton 3-1 at home with John Terry scoring on his 400th league appearance for the club and free-scoring Man City climbed to third after spanking Swansea City 3-0. City, for whom Samir Nasri netted twice, have now scored 16 goals in their last three home matches. Liverpool began the day in second place but faltered, losing 3-1 at Hull City.
From yesterday's game analysis Man of the match - Wayne Rooney put in a tireless shift for the home side, causing the Arsenal defence a number of problems. Set up the goal with a lovely delivery from a corner on the left and, although booked in the second half, his battling qualities and tackling were certainly under control. Attempt of the match - Rooney created a chance all on his own in the second half, which would have been a fine goal. He took the ball down brilliantly, beat a man but shot just wide of the target. Moment of the match - With just a couple of minutes to go, Bacary Sagna found some space on the right and put over a delicious cross but neither Nicklas Bendtner nor Olivier Giroud could get just the slightest touch that was needed to turn the ball home. Talking point - Man United find themselves above Man City in the table following a remarkable Super Sunday. Can the champions now kick on and mount a serious defence of their title?
A review of Sunday's action in the Barclays Premier League, including shock defeats for Man City and Tottenham. Robin Van Persie downed old club Arsenal to blast Manchester United back into the Premier League title race with a 1-0 victory at Old Trafford as David Moyes enjoyed his biggest win as Red Devils manager. Van Persie rose unchallenged to guide home Wayne Rooney's 27th-minute corner to spark scenes of jubilation at Old Trafford and silence the taunts of the visiting fans. On another amazing weekend, in which Chelsea's home draw on Saturday was followed within 24 hours by shock defeats for Tottenham and Manchester City, United have now closed to within five points of Arsenal, who suffered their first league defeat since the opening day of the season. Indeed, six points now separate the first eight in the table, with Liverpool and Southampton now Arsenal's closest pursuers.

The Telegraph, Daily Mail, the Star and The Times All seem to agree about the big picture. Wayne Rooney is heading for the Manchester United exit door this summer. After being axed from the United squad of Tuesday night for the Champions League match with Real Madrid, whispers began getting louder that Sir Alex Ferguson has finally decided to get rid of Wayne Rooney. Rooney, who famously announced his desire to leave Old Trafford back in 2012 only to quickly renege in a public fiasco, now seems to be left out in the cold at Carrington. According to The Times, Rooney is said to be forcing the exit issue after being left “furious” at missing out in the Madrid game. James Ducker reports that Rooney has “failed to conceal his fury at his [Real] omission.” The Times go on to suggest that PSG, Chelsea and Man City will all look to sign Rooney, while Borussia Dortmund’s Robert Lewandowski is Sir Alex’s Ferguson’s prime replacement. The Star have a much more tabloid slant on the story claiming that ...
Where are they now? Darius Vassell. Darius Vassell came through the Aston Villa youth ranks, making his first team debut at the age of 18 in the 3-1 win over Middlesbrough in August 1998. A prodigious striker, Vassell had set a club record by scoring thirty-nine goals for the youth team at Villa Park and his speed and agility saw him heralded as the next big thing. Vassell made 162 league appearances for Villa, scoring thirty-five goals before moving to Manchester City in July 2005. By this time Vassell was also an England international, with 22 caps. However his international career ended when he missed the deciding penalty in the Euro 04 quarter final tie against Portugal after he had come on as an early sub for the injured Wayne Rooney. Vassell’s career at Man City started brightly, as he formed an effective partnership with Andy Cole, scoring ten goals in forty appearances. However as time advanced he slowly found himself forced out the team; pushed into an unfamiliar wide midfielder position in a 4 ...

Dear Arsenal, Thanks for selling Man United the Premiership title! . From the day that it was confirmed that Man United had secured the signing of Robin Van Persie I simply knew that he would make the difference in the race for the title, and we would wrest it back from our 'noisy neighbours'. Man City have a great array of striking talent, but just looking at last season’s stats it is obvious that Van Persie was just head and shoulders above every other player in the Premiership and would make United unstoppable, especially with Wayne Rooney up there supporting him. Even Ferguson knew exactly what he was doing wen he paid (only) 24million for the 'jewel' from Arsenal, and knew he would quickly become the new Eric Cantona for the next few years. Fergie said at the time: “I think he is what we have needed for the last couple of years. He’s got maturity to his game now – an authority, timing and understanding of the game – and I think we will benefit for the next four years and beyond. We needed a ...

Man United vs Man City- Review It was Derby Day in Manchester as the Noisy Neighbours were on a 37 game unbeaten run at home and trailed the Red Devils by 3 points. City had a stronghold of possession in the opening minutes of the game but were blanked out by a classic counter attack started by Ashley Young. He played a pass to Robin Van Persie and continued his run. Van Persie helped the ball into Young’s run with his chest, sending him darting down a clear flank. Young played the ball to Rooney at the edge of the penalty area and he, surrounded by three City defenders, scuffed a shot to into Joe Harts goal, leaving the keeper wrong footed. Problems only grew for City as Captain Vincent Kompany was forced off the field with a troubled groin, and was replaced by Kolo Toure, who apparently was not good enough to be in City’s Champions League squad. He handed the armband to Pablo Zabaleta. Things didn’t get any better though for City as a swift cross from Rafael was met by an unmarked Wayne Rooney, wh ...

-Ashley Young overdid his fall, admits Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson by osd Sir Alex Ferguson fears Ashley Young is getting a reputation as a diver after another storm overshadowed Manchester United’s march towards the Premier League title last night. Just a week after being accused of theatrics to win a penalty against QPR, the winger left former club Aston Villa incensed when he tumbled in the box following a challenge by Ciaran Clark. Wayne Rooney slotted home the seventh- minute spot-kick and further goals from frontman Danny Welbeck and Nani sealed a 4-0 success that preserved United’s five-point lead over Man City. Ferguson felt the penalty was the right decision, but confessed to Young gaining a tag as someone who goes down too easily. “In the last week or two, yeah,” said the United boss. “I’ve never seen that in him, it’s not a habitual thing in him. He was brought down, he just made the most of it. “I think he played for the penalty. It was a dramatic fall. He overdid ...
