SOME PLAYERS WHO BECAME SUCCESSFUL AFTER A POSITION CHANGE 1. Vincent Kompany He was a defensive midfielder back with Anderlecht and Man City in 2008 under Mark Hughes. In 2010, he changed to a centre-back and rated among the best in the world now. 2. ANALYSING ARSENAL SEASON I was angry with Arsene Wenger and criticised him in the past, especially as my beloved team threw away 128 days (September 31 to December 31) of leading the rest of the Premier League away, because he did not buy quality striker both in the summer and January Transfer Window to challenge Giroud. But after analysing the just concluded season, I am in a position to reason better and apologise to “Professor” Arsene Wenger and give him kudos for the good job he did. In total, we conceded 41 goals, 17 of them came from 3 clubs ahead of us, in Man City-6, Liverpool-5, Chelsea-6 while three came from one club below us in Everton. We lost only one match at home, same as the champion and six away, the champion lost five away. If we had drawn with Man City, Liverpool, Chelsea and Everton, the table would have read Man City 84 points; Arsenal 84 points; Liverpool 82 points, Chelsea 80 points and Everton 70 points. With Striker of Van Persie, Suarez and others linked with Arsenal in the ...
After losing Nasri and Clichy to Man City, Fabregas to Barcelona, Van Persie to Man United, Arsenal is set to lose another of his star Players to Man City. READ DETAILS HERE: you think they've got replacement for him?
that debate on financial fair play (FFP) is raging again! Man City find themselves in a tricky situation! here is ma take; FFP can only make d rich clubs more richer! instead of giving Southampton a chance to grow into a mini-Chelsea by using money of their lady tycoon to grow into a big club, all FFP will ever do is to see clubs like Arsenal, AC Milan and Man Utd try to revive themselves. where u would expect clubs like S'oton to sign players that want to leave "elite clubs" ala Sagna, Podolski, Obi, Van Persie, Welbeck so that they (S'oton) can try and get to Europe by adding to the talent they have, you'll instead see these "elite" clubs sell to each other or even buy the likes of Luke Shaw, Artur Boruc, Callum Chambers, Jay Rodriguez and Adam Lallana. such is the malaise of trying to control market forces!
Things Manchester United funs shud kno:- Alex Ferguson is all to blame for what is happening to the bug Manchester club. He handled over wrongly at the wrong time. Manchester United were already going down before Ferguson retired from Football. The fact that they won the league in his final season does not mean he had a gud team. Remember that previously they exited the UEFA Champions League in the second round and followed another first round exit at the hands of FC Basel. He only improved his side the season that followed by buying Van Persie, who wasn't really what they needed especially when Rooney was already performing in big matches. The same season saw the collapse of Chelsea and Man City partially which deceived united fans more. United fans shud have looked at how Frank Rijkaard left Barcelona when he handed it to former drag dealer Josep Guardiola. And also admire how stable Barcelona wqs when Guardiola left it. How about Jupp Heynckes' Bayern Munich when Guardiola took charge or Carlo Ancelot ...

EPL Transfer Updates Mata may decide EPL race By Adebayo Olodan With four teams currently neck-to-neck in the race for the 2013/14 EPL title, the recent transfer of Juan Mata from Chelsea to rivals Man Utd for a record £37m may decide who will be crowned champion in May. Much was written when Romelu Lukaku was permitted to join Everton on loan, and given his talent and impact on Chelsea’s direct rivals, perhaps it was a Mourinho master-stroke. But if Chelsea falls short this season due to striking deficiencies, it could be a case of smart but not smart enough. While Man Utd has already played Chelsea home and away, their title rivals, Man City, Arsenal and Liverpool are all yet to play the league champion in the EPL return fixture. Although United are unlikely to make a push for the league title as they are currently 14 points behind the leaders, a Mata playing behind the recuperating Robin Van Persie and Wayne Rooney may see the team take points off Man City, Arsenal and Liverpool in the reverse fixt ...

Plus if Chelsea win tonight wit 2 nil scoreline, Arsenal will drop to 3rd place after stayed on-off at the top for a while this season. If that happen tonight, all 3 team only separated by only 1 point or goals different between them... Although if Arsenal drop to 3rd place, they still separated wit 4th place team by 6 points, even after Liverpool thumping Everton last night 4 nil in Merseyside Derby, the biggest win against their local rival since 1999... Man U got they first win last night after breaking their transfer record, 37 Millions Pound for Juan Mata, plus Juan Mata got an assist to his name. Wit 6 points separated between them n 4th place team, they really confident they can close the gap to other top teams wit their new star signing n if they can get a chance to play both fitted Van Persie n W Rooney in the same starting eleven... A review of Sunday's action in the Barclays Premier League, including shock defeats for Man City and Tottenham. Robin Van Persie downed old club Arsenal to blast Manchester United back into the Premier League title race with a 1-0 victory at Old Trafford as David Moyes enjoyed his biggest win as Red Devils manager. Van Persie rose unchallenged to guide home Wayne Rooney's 27th-minute corner to spark scenes of jubilation at Old Trafford and silence the taunts of the visiting fans. On another amazing weekend, in which Chelsea's home draw on Saturday was followed within 24 hours by shock defeats for Tottenham and Manchester City, United have now closed to within five points of Arsenal, who suffered their first league defeat since the opening day of the season. Indeed, six points now separate the first eight in the table, with Liverpool and Southampton now Arsenal's closest pursuers.

Next season is going to be super exciting, and I think Chelsea with Mourinho at the helm should immediately be considered the favourite to win the EPL now that Ferguson is retired and Man City has changed to a lesser manager in Pellegrini (Mancini is a superb manager by the way). What Chelsea will likely do is go hard at signing Rooney, that would be a statement signing similar to the impact of Van Persie last year, but my gut says that Rooney will stay put, and Chelsea will then sign a big name striker from other leagues, Mario Gomez, Lewandowski, Jovetic, or Cavani. That means they'll say goodbye to Torres, whom replaced Shevchenko as the biggest flop signing in the history of EPL. Don't forget Lukaku, I can see a lot of Drogba in him.  The Manchester brothers will be going through a transformational season, it'll be *** both new managers especially Moyes, he hardly signed anyone when he was managing Everton, so now his first objective should be to bring Baines, Fellaini, and Jagieka on board to at ...

My predictions for today: Newcastle 1-1 Man City - Newcastle are good at home and Man City will be sad after losing to Man U. Demba Ba and Tevez with the goals Liverpool 2-0 Villa - Liverpool keep picking up 1-0 or 2-0 victories and Vila have no fire power, Suarez will the double Man United 4-1 Sunderland - Man U are on a high after beating City , Rooney scored for fun last week and Van Persie will score a few as he's my fantasy football captain. They do let in goals so Steven Fletcher will get a goal Norwich 2-2 Wigan - Norwich are on a 9 match prem unbeaten run and they should be winning against teams like Wigan. However they concede a lot and will be upset after losing against their former manager midweek. Wigan can't keep clean sheets but can score Goalscorers - Grant Holt, Seb Bassong, James McCarthy, Arouna Kone QPR 2-1 Fulham - I think QPR could win their first match of season. The match is quite easy and Redknapp will make the team try their best for a derby. They seem to be scoring. Fulham are sc ...
Dear Arsenal, Thanks for selling Man United the Premiership title! . From the day that it was confirmed that Man United had secured the signing of Robin Van Persie I simply knew that he would make the difference in the race for the title, and we would wrest it back from our 'noisy neighbours'. Man City have a great array of striking talent, but just looking at last season’s stats it is obvious that Van Persie was just head and shoulders above every other player in the Premiership and would make United unstoppable, especially with Wayne Rooney up there supporting him. Even Ferguson knew exactly what he was doing wen he paid (only) 24million for the 'jewel' from Arsenal, and knew he would quickly become the new Eric Cantona for the next few years. Fergie said at the time: “I think he is what we have needed for the last couple of years. He’s got maturity to his game now – an authority, timing and understanding of the game – and I think we will benefit for the next four years and beyond. We needed a ...
Man United vs Man City- Review It was Derby Day in Manchester as the Noisy Neighbours were on a 37 game unbeaten run at home and trailed the Red Devils by 3 points. City had a stronghold of possession in the opening minutes of the game but were blanked out by a classic counter attack started by Ashley Young. He played a pass to Robin Van Persie and continued his run. Van Persie helped the ball into Young’s run with his chest, sending him darting down a clear flank. Young played the ball to Rooney at the edge of the penalty area and he, surrounded by three City defenders, scuffed a shot to into Joe Harts goal, leaving the keeper wrong footed. Problems only grew for City as Captain Vincent Kompany was forced off the field with a troubled groin, and was replaced by Kolo Toure, who apparently was not good enough to be in City’s Champions League squad. He handed the armband to Pablo Zabaleta. Things didn’t get any better though for City as a swift cross from Rafael was met by an unmarked Wayne Rooney, wh ...

Arsenal hero Lehmann: Van Persie joined Man Utd for money Arsenal hero Jens Lehmann feels the sale of Robin Van Persie to Manchester United was the right decision. Lehmann believes Arsenal are acting "responsibly" in the transfer market. He told the Sunday Mirror: "When you look at Robin Van Persie - a player wants to leave for money reasons and probably because he thinks that somewhere else it is easier to win, you have to let him go, particularly when he has only one year on his contract, and when he played the first season without an injury in eight or nine years, so that was an extraordinary season for Robin. And then to make a decision: do we keep him or do we let him go? "So the future will tell us, and what will come into place next year with the financial fair play rule. So then we will see how these rules actually come into place for clubs like Chelsea, Man City, who are spending beyond the budget and then it could turn out that clubs like Arsenal all of a sudden are far ahead of those clubs." My ...
Man City 1-1 Arsenal FT What a performance ! What a result ! Man City are a team who won 18 out of their 19 home games last season. Not only did we get a draw today, we deserved the win today. This was without our captain Thomas Vermaelen. We outclassed Man City today. There were times when Man City were on top but that is expected at The Etihad. Cazorla, Mertesacker, Ramsey and Jenkinson were immense today. Jenkinson has improved so much since last year. This season, i believe that 4 out of our 5 results are very good and in my opinion, we have only had 1 bad result. The Sunderland game which we drew 0-0. The 2 games we have drew are Stoke and City both away. They are very good results. Since Van Persie has left, we look more of a team. The addition of Cazorla has been immense and he controls virtually every game he plays in. Jack Wilshere, at long last, is finally coming back. We look to have so many options in midfield. Wilshere and Diaby, virtually 2 new signings. Ramsey has gotten better. The defence ...
Arsenal thank u who wants Van Persie wen we hev Santi Carzola 2day Man City was chasing shadows
A tension filled nite of European soccer we had of it.Arsenal taking d strides higher in gradual proportion over Montpellier though that match up wasnt a real craker.D midfield is yet to come under d exclusive dictates of Abou Diaby who at intervals went too wide.We miss Alex Song a great deal more than Van Persie. As for Real Madrid,d Barcelona stuff has been their latest emulation.A skll based game with a near Barca artistry & wizardry. As for Man City, they seem to be pretenders again.Buying big means playing big. They looked rattled & jittery in ball handling, accuracy & distribution for a greater part of d game.If after buying so big & d coach cant change u,then u have to change d coach. He had no excuse losing d game to Madrid after going up twice. It shows there some things he should have done which he never did.Give such an all star five star team to Wenger or Sir Alex & they will dwarf Mancini.
Arsenal are preparing to face the newly-promoted Southampton this weekend, and despite the South Coast club still being without a point, they have given a scare to both Man United and Man City having scored twice against each of the Top Two last season with Van Persie only rescuing Man United in the dying minutes
even the media, the Super Eaglesare loaded to the hilt with super stars most of whom are plying their trade outside the nation's shores. But the world appears to see our players differently, if a recent rating done by a US based sports media outfit, Bleacher Report is anything to go by. Bleacher Report's list of the world best 100 soccer stars did not include any Nigerian player as only the likes of Cameroon's Samuel Eto'o, Coted Ivoire's duo of Didier Drogba and Yaya Toure and Ghana's Michael Essien were the African stars that made the big boys list. As expected, Argentina's Lionel Messi was No.1 on the chart alongside his Barcelona team mates, Gerard Pique, Xavi, AndresIniesta and David Villa. The other first XI that made the list from outside Barcelona's camp were Real Madrid's Christian Ronaldo, Manchester United's Nemanja Vidic, Man City's Carlos Tevez, Bayern's ArjenRobben and Arsenal's Robin Van Persie. Some of the other notable players that got on the world's best 100 list include Wayne Rooney (13 ...
Javi Garcia to Man City for £24m? That's more than Man Utd paid for Robin Van Persie. Mind you, New Fiats can cost more than old Ferraris..
Football Opinion: It's still early days but I can say this: 1) Liverpool has one *** a talented kid in Raheem Sterling who gave veteran Kolo Toure a torrid team. In the same breath, Martin Skrtel must have been a Man City fan in his childhood. The way he gifted Tevez an easy goal smacks of a previous 'M-Pesa' transaction between Skrtel and Mancini. 2) Van Persie showed his class with a sublime goal but it was sad for any football fan to see that deep gash in Rooney's leg. 3) As RVP did that, Arsenal strikers were firing blanks. Clearly, firepower is needed upfront (Llorente?). The only positive from the two drab draws is the Steve Bould factor, defensive mentality. Song not missed at all but RVP clearly a big miss. 4) Man City from the two games so far look very ordinary. One hit wonder? Or is it 'One night stand'? 5) Chelsea are on a roll. This to me is the team to beat. Eden Hazard is already a super bargain, with 6 assists and one goal so far in 3 games. 6) Barcelona will always have their way. When t ...
I know that it could be early for such, but after 2 games into the season, there are somethings that you just can't avoid.Predictions! .and these are mine. 1. Arsenal will not make the final cut for the Champions League Spot this season 2. ManUnited have a 50/50 chance of clinching the league but will have tight competition from Chelsea/Liverpool and maybe Man City 3. Van Persie will clinch the Golden Boot.and i will hold my head against the block for this one 4. Orlando Pirates will not make it to the top of the PSL this season 5. The Spanish Liga has already taken its shape with the top spot.and even though it might change during the course of the season, it will go back to that.Barca being the Champs 6. Mourinho will be shown the door at the end if not in the middle of the season 7. Gaborone United will surely compete this season. Good Morning bloggers.

Come to think of it Robin Van Persie has done no wrong, he is merely seizing his oppotunity as any of us would with both hands for that matter. RVP is 29yrs injury permiting he has a maximum of only 5yrs before his career comes to an end. Now RVP at Arsenal was earning only £70,000 a week the same amount currently being paid to The youngstar Danny Welbeck at Man U, even Emmanuel Adebayor when his club Man City didnt want him and sent him on loan at Real and Totenham was still earning £170,000 a week. Tell me who would renew his contract at Arsenal and continue to earn peanuts than move to Man U and be paid a cool £250,000 per week? RVP would not.

United sign Van Persie while Man City are looking to bring in Nathan Redmond. Best of luck with that!
Arsenal is familiar to this Van Persie situation. Patrick Viera left and everyone thought it was all over 4 Arsenal...simply bcs he was a prolific midfielder. Thierry Henry filled his(viera) shoes and then flew to Spain. Adebayo was the only hope, he also delivered then he went to Man City. Van Persie was the man who kept the Gunners fans cheering and nw he leaves. There will be others who will score n keep the Gunners up in the top four. We cant remain stagnant, we have to move on!
Ex-Tottenham boss Redknapp: Arsenal won't survive Van Persie sale Former Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp believes Arsenal will struggle this season. Redknapp rates Manchester City favourites for the title ahead of Manchester United. Redknapp, who was recently appointed a Sky Sports Fantasy Football ambassador, said: "I suppose City will be favourites and then Man Utd, Chelsea and Tottenham again. "Arsenal will be in for a tough season this year if they lose Van Persie, I think they’ve got it all to do and Tottenham could finish above them this year. "[Sir Alex Ferguson] will want to win a trophy this year and they’ll push Man City all the way. "I think Liverpool will do better. People say there’s a long rebuilding process going on at the club, but they’ll be there. They’ve got fantastic players in my opinion – [Luis] Suarez, [Andy] Carroll, [Steven] Gerrard, [Jamie] Carragher, Glen Johnson, a great goalkeeper in Pepe Reina and some good central defenders. They should be pushing for the top four. ...

More rumours about Arsenal’s van Persie. It is all becoming a bit confusing , with Arsene Wenger saying there have been no fresh bids, Alex Ferguson admitting a bid, and Roberto Mancinisaying that Robin Van Persie is “an Arsenal Player.” Today’s stories will probably just confuse us further, but there might be some truth in them so here goes. The Mirror and the Daily Mail both have reports on the potential transfer of van Persie to Man City and Man United respectively, but both stories have a common thread, MONEY. The story in the Daily Mail suggests that our Dutch striker would prefer a move to United over City, assuming that Juventus have backed out of the race. This may be true, with City already overloaded with Prima Donna front men. Apparently, van Persie is insisting on getting the same wages as the top paid player at the club. Rooney is that man, on around £200,000 per week. He got that salary by threatening to leave, sound familiar anyone? The question is, whether United would be willing ...

Who knows where Robin Van Persie is heading?. Man City?, they have alot of strikers already, they need to move on 1 or 2 but nobody wants to leave bcos of the high wages they collect which no club is willing to match. Adebayor, Dzeko, Aguero, Balotelli, Tevez, Santa Cruz still receive Man City's pay. Juventus? The old ladies want him but RVP would certainly prefer a better league like La Liga. Man United? Personally, Old Trafford looks the most likely destination for RVP. It will be nice to play him with Rooney since Van Persie is considered better than Chicarito & Welbeck. Chelsea? The Blues dont need his style as a striker. Chelsea do not play 4-4-2 and they dont play 4-3-3 like Barca where the 3 front players play close to each other. I doubt if he can function as a lone striker like Drogba or Ibrahimovic. Real Madrid? They already have great strikers like Benzema & Higuian and they play one one of them in a match. Barcelona? Barca dont pay stupid wages for players that they can afford their alternati ...

Just one last time, I can't believe Robin Van Persie hasn't signed a new contract at Arsenal. After the amount of time the club persevered with him through his own personal uncertainty (I am of course referring to his injury problems and issues with his temperament) they stuck with him and moulded him into one of the best strikers in the world, only for him to turn round and stick his middle finger up at us after his one exceptional season, exactly the same as Nasri did last year. Thank you Robin, for single handedly carrying us in terms of goalscoring last season, but surely Euro 2012 will have proven to you more than anything that without Song, Walcott, Gervinho, Arteta and the team to assist you, you are nothing. I hope for your sake you go on to pastures new outwith the Premier League, because I don't think I'll be able to take seeing you in a Man City or Chelsea shirt next season. I guess that makes Thomas Vermaelen our captain for next season then? Swet. The Verminator.
Yaya Toure, Emmanuel Adebayor, Gael Clichy, Samir Nasri and now Robin Van Persie: you say you left because you can't win trophies at my Arsenal.. I wonder how much silverware we would have if you ladies wouldn't have bailed for a bigger paycheck.. If I hear one more Arsenal-bred superstar *** say my Gunners are not the club with which to win trophies as they close the exit door behind them on their way to cash a check with Man City or Chelsea on the header, I don't know what I'll do.. so frustrating and disheartening.
The funny moment when Van Persie fee to Man City cost lesser than Andy Carrol fee to Liverpool.
Transfer News : Chelsea close on Maicon. Chelsea are ready to pay $32mil for Jovetic. Man City want £80 mil for David Silva. Arsenal reject Juve's £8 mil bid for Van Persie and Balotelli's agent claim's that Mario Balotelli is worth £200 mil. The world has really gone mad.

The Arsenal transfer talk this summer has all been about Robin Van Persie’s contract talks, and after the Dutchman’s father rejected any chance of RVP moving to another English club (i.e. Man City) or Spain (Real Madrid and Barcelona) it seemed that the only other logical destination for the Premiership Player-of-the-Year would be the Italian League Champions Juventus. The Old Lady went though the whole of the Serie A season unbeaten and are now trying to improve their team for an assault on the Champions League next season, but Arsene Wenger is adamant that Van Persie would not take a “step down” to the weaker Italian League. ...

Cannot believe this season. Henry, THE KING returned to Arsenal! He was amazing, Scholes returned to help out United, Van Persie bagged 36 goals !! Arsenal somehow salvaged third place, United bottled an 8 point lead even with all their oh so important experience. Newcastle almost made CL, Wigan beat all the big guns, Liverpool were awful, Di Matteo's been great since AVB got sacked, Chelsea beat Barca, Arsenal almost beat Milan on aggregant, QPR stayed in the last 5 minutes, Norwich and Swansea were awesome playing great football, some of the best goals in EPL history were scored (Cisse!!!) and the league was won in the FINAL minute of the ENTIRE season! that is just unreal! you cannot make that kind of thing up and fair play to Man City, but the credit must go to every team for making this a truly amazing season in the Premier League which will probably never be beaten. This is the best league in the world and if anybody says otherwise, well, their opinion is 100% completely and utterly invalid. English ...

The Senegalese striker won 43 per cent of the vote, putting him way out in front of Arsenal's Robin Van Persie who somewhat surprisingly finished second with 18 per cent. Peter Crouch's superb goal for Stoke against Man City was hailed as a banker of Goal of the season for finish in third

City to offer Van Persie pounds 210k a week Spanish source AS is reporting that Man City are lining up a big money summer move for Arsenal striker Robin Van Persie as Real Madrid set their sights on Etihad Stadium forward Sergio Aguero. Roberto Mancini’s side are ready to offer the Gunners skipper a salary of as much £210k a week in an attempt to lure the Dutchman away from the North London club this summer. The 28 year old has been in outstanding form over the past two seasons and Arsene Wenger has heavily relied on the striker and can ill afford to lose the former Feyenoord man. Van Persie will have just a year to run on his current contact come the end of the season and Wenger will be looking to get his skipper to put to paper on a new deal as soon as possible to avoid losing such a hugely important first team player at the end of the season. Arsenal are beginning to get used to advances from Man City having lost the likes of Kolo Toure, Emmanuel Adebayor, Gael Clichy and Samir Nasri to the big spen ...
