Pellegrini facing revolt from City's English players... Manuel Pellegrini is facing an english revolt at Man city. Micah Richards and Joleon Lescott seems likely to leave the club, while some have raised questions over the future of Jack Rodwell and James Milner. The Blues starting line XI in the final did not contain an englishman. And home-grown star like Richards is unwilling to sign a new contract after being frozen out of the first team pictures. Those factors have succeded in highlighting the problem at City which has seen members of the club's home guard become increasing disillusioned with a lack of chances under their Chilean boss Pellegrini. Richards, Whose contarct expires next season, could move on despite being offered a five year deal. Joleon Lescott was left of the starting XI at wembley but return against Wigan at the weekend, is also likely to miss out on a World Cup place due to lack of playing time. He is set to leave this summer on a free transfer.
West Ham, Fulham and Newcastle are all interested in Joleon Lescott, who is ready to leave Man City in the summer.

Lawro's January shopping list Back at Christmas, we asked Lawro for his Premier League shopping list - who needed who, and why? A month on, many of the deals have been struck, but there are some clubs who have not made much of an inroad into the market yet. Here are a few choice cuts from Lawro's list: Arsenal - they need a striker. Lawro said: "Why not try to go for it in January and try to get whoever they are looking at in then? They undoubtedly have the money and the worst case scenario is that if the new man does not settle in straight away then he will be ready by next August rather than trying to settle in then." Everton - "They clearly do not need any drastic surgery to their squad but they could do with another striker." Man City - "Their squad looks very strong in every area apart from centre-back where they have problems whenever Vincent Kompany is injured. "Martin Demichelis has not convinced me and it is clear the manager Manuel Pellegrini does not fancy Joleon Lescott much either."

The Five Top Worst Spending Sprees Based on the Following Season’s Results 1. Manchester City 2008 Man City, with Mark Hughes as manager, spent about a £140m in 2008 when they signed numerous players including Brazilian international Robinho for a £32.5m from Real Madrid. When the January transfer window opened they paid £18m for Nigel De Jong £12m for Wayne Bridge and another £14m for Craig Bellamy. The team ended the season in 10th place after buying a total of 13 players. 2. Manchester City 2009 After forking over £140m in transfer fees the previous year, City followed it up by spending another £130m in 2009. This time Hughes bought players such as Roque Santa Cruz for £18m and then paid £25m for Emmanuel Adebayor another £16m for Kolo Toure, £25.5m for Carlos Tevez and £24m for Joleon Lescott. Hughes took them to fifth place and was sacked. Roberto Mancini took over and they finished the campaign still in fifth. 3. Manchester United 2001 Man United shelled out a total of £75.5m in 2001 ...
Liverpool go top, Man City back on track October 5, 2013 by AGENCE FRANCE PRESSE STURRIDGE-PALACE LONDON, England, October 5 – Liverpool returned to the top of the Premier League table on Saturday after a 3-1 home win over Crystal Palace, while Manchester City climbed to third by beating Everton. Luis Suarez was making his first Anfield appearance since completing a 10-game ban for biting Chelsea’s Branislav Ivanovic last season and with new-born son Benjamin in attendance, he broke the deadlock in the 14th minute. The goal showcased the Uruguayan’s flair for improvisation, as he hooked the ball into the net from a prone position after slipping as he shaped to shoot. Top scorer Daniel Sturridge added a second three minutes later, turning Damien Delaney inside out before lashing home his fifth league goal of the season. Captain Steven Gerrard made it 3-0 with a 38th-minute penalty, taking his tally of Premier League goals to 99, before substitute Dwight Gayle replied for the visitors with a late glan ...

match day info man city vs Everton 17′ - Assist - Yaya Touré (Manchester City) 17′ - Goal - Negredo (Manchester City) GOAL! Just one minute later and Negredo manages to mimick Lukaku's efforts at the other end. This time it's Toure who puts him through as the striker manages to smuggle the ball under Howard in a similar manner to that which damned Hart a minute earlier. A smart finish and it's 1-1 after a topsy-turvy couple of minutes! 16′ - Assist - Phil Jagielka (Everton) 16′ - Goal - Romelu Lukaku (Everton) GOAL! Lukaku scores a wondergoal! The Belgian adroitly steps beyond Lescott with consummate ease after a forward ball by Jagielka, before striking beyond the despairing Joe Hart. It went under the goalkeeper so his contribution to the goal was questionable but the real blame has to lie with Lescott - that was a tame challenge. Nonetheless, an excellent goal from Lukaku to put Everton 1-0 up! 15′ - Everton counter once again and cause Man City and Joe Hart problems through the partnership ...
Preview: Man City v Everton, Sat. 12:45pm, Etihad Stadium Billed as: Inconsistent City host unbeaten Everton as several players face their former club, including Jack Rodwell, Joleon Lescott and Gareth Barry The lowdown Wednesday’s meeting with Bayern Munich was humbling for Manchester City, who lost 3-1 yet could have gone down by four or five if the visitors hadn’t decided to play nice for the last half an hour and Alvaro Negredo hadn’t unleashed a strike sweeter than sugar. City were outplayed, out-passed and out-thought, but in Manuel Pellegrini they have a manager who knows how to put such a result in context. His team played poorly, it’s true, but against surely the best team in the world. The match only served to display the current gap in quality between City and Pep Guardiola’s men, not expose a team who will never perform in the Champions League. Certainly the argument to drop the clangerrific Joe Hart has a whiff of baby and bathwater about it. Manchester City would love a win over .. ...
Kenwyne Jones will be in his element without Vincent Kompany in the Man City defence ALL Stokies should be jumping for joy at the absence of Manchester City skipper and defender Vincent Kompany... especially Kenwyne Jones. Kenwyne comes into the game in fine form and confidence judging by his three goals for Trinidad over the past week. And the injured Kompany will be a huge miss for City. Stoke have done so well against Man City at the Britannia that this game is no longer seen as a bonus fixture. Manuel Pellegrini's team have made a mediocre start and Kompany's injury has left them with a soft under belly in the centre of their defence. I feel that with Kenwyne on top of his game at the moment he can cause problems for Joleon Lescott and whoever plays alongside him. Kompany brings out the best in his partner and as Cardiff's 3-2 win over City showed three weeks ago, you can get at this current team. For me, tomorrow is about Stoke doing the ugly things well and not letting City settle on the ball to pre ...

Tomas Rosicky is a transfer target for Zenit. Nathan Dyer could make a possible move to Hull after reports suggested they were interested in a move. Chelsea and Jose Mourinho were last night bracing themselves for a £100m raid from Europeans biggest clubs for Juan Mata, David Luiz and Fernando Torres. David Moyes has said he is determined to make a spectacular signing with Gareth Bale, Cesc Fabregas, Robert Lewandowski and Cristiano Ronaldo all possible options. Denilson, who is available on a free, is a target for Stoke. Samir Nasri could be set for a move to spain according to several spanish newspapers. Klaas Jan Huntelaar could join Tottenham if they fail to sign their top striking target David Villa or Christian Benteke. Emanuel Frimpong and Marouane Chamakh have reportedly been told they can leave Arsenal. Joleon Lescott is another Man City star who is attracting interest abroad from the likes of Athletico Madrid and Napoli. West Brom will try and sign Romelu Lukaku on a permanent basis.
LISBON, Portugal -- Sporting Lisbon defender Xandao scored with an audacious back-heeled shot in a 1-0 win over Manchester City on Thursday in the first leg of the last 16 of the Europa League. Glean Hall Jersey . Xandao pounced in the 51st minute in a goalmouth scramble after keeper Joe Hart had failed to hold Matias Fernandezs dipping free kick or palm it safely out. Sporting, lying fourth in its domestic championship and playing under its second manager this season, proved to be a tough adversary and had Man City on the ropes for long spells. City tried to slow the pace of the game in the first half, but after falling behind the Premier League leaders sharpened their attack by introducing Samir Nasri and Mario Balotelli, who hit the goal frame with a late header. City had an early setback when central defender Vincent Kompany went off injured within the first 10 minutes and was replaced by Joleon Lescott. Hart blocked Joao Pereiras early effort as Sporting pressed forward. But at the other end, goalkee ...

Man City planning massive clearout to make room for big money deals Manchester City are ready for a massive squad overhaul this season. The Daily Star Sunday says City will return to their big spending ways in the summer, though will adhere to UEFA's draconian financial fair play laws. They are planning to raise cash through sales and slash £50m from the wage bill. Mario Balotelli has already gone for almost £20m and the futures of Edin Dzeko, Carlos Tevez, Samir Nasri, Joleon Lescott, Micah Richards, Scott Sinclair and Maicon are all in doubt. In addition, Kolo Toure and two players out on loan – Roque Santa Cruz and Wayne Bridge – are out of contract. There could be other casualties, too. The message is loud and clear – stand by for a summer of stunning transfer activity at City.
Man City chief Txiki planning massive summer clearout Manchester City chief Txiki Begiristain is drawing up plans for a massive summer clearout. The Manchester Evening News says reports in Sunday's papers suggest big names Carlos Tevez, Samir Nasri, Joleon Lescott, Aleks Kolarov, Edin Dzeko and Scott Sinclair could be heading out of the Etihad. City's hopes of pulling off another miracle title race comeback look bleak after a poor performance in the 3-1 defeat at Southampton and new football director Begiristain could mastermind a major summer shake-up.

Man City Battle Barcelona for £26m German Centre-Back Etihad Stadium side hope to edge Nou Camp in the pursuit of Borussia Dortmund defender. Man City will battle Barcelona for highly rated German defnnder Mats Hummels this summer according to the Express. Roberto Mancini is apparently looking to freshen up his defence and sees the Borussia Dortmund centre-back as the man for the job, unfortunately for the Etihad Stadium boss this is exactly what Barcelona boss Tito Vilanova has in mind. 24 year old Hummels could well be tempted by a move to either club as it looks very likely his side are set to lose their Bundesliga crown to Bayern Munich this term. Hummels is tied to Dortmund until 2016 and this source believes a bid in the region of £26m would be considered by the Westfalenstadion side and in a straight bidding war Man City would perhaps edge Barcelona for the rock solid defender. Mancini may well see Hummels as the man to replace Joleon Lescott, who has been linked with a move back to Everton.
Man City keen on Real Madrid starlet The Daily Express is reporting that Manchester City will keep tabs on Real Madrid’s talented defender, Raphael Varane, and might look to bring him to the Etihad Stadium in the summer transfer window. The Frenchman has earned a number of starts for the La Liga champions this campaign and showed how good he is in the Copa del Rey semi-final against Barcelona, scoring in the 1-1 draw. Unsurprisingly, this performance has caught the attention of some of the richest clubs in Europe, with Paris Saint Germain and City both keen on the 19-year-old. However, it looks as though the English Premier League outfit might be leading the way at the moment and Roberto Mancini does want to add to his back four in the summer. If Varane was to join, then Joleon Lescott might be allowed to leave the club and search for first-team football elsewhere. The defender might weigh up his options in the coming months though and if he wants to stay at Real, then it is likely he will as they are n ...

Man City are said to be readying a move for Varane according to the Express. Mancini has earmarked a move for Varane as he looks to overhaul his defence with the long term future of the club under consideration. With that in mind that City are apparently ready to sell England man Joleon Lescott. Varane made 16 starts in all competitions this season and is sure to be a player Real Madrid will not consider offers for.

Moyes Wants Sinclair On Loan? Reports in the British media suggest that Man City midfielder Scott Sinclair could be on his way to Goodison Park. Sinclair, who joined the English Champions this summer from Swansea, has been restricted to just a handful of sub appearances for Roberto Mancini’s side and the club are allowing him to leave on loan in January. City have a big squad and are set to let go a host of names in the new year as Mancini clears out some of his fringe players. Joleon Lescott, Edin Dzeko and now Sinclair have all been linked with moves away from the Eithad, and Everton are thought to be interested in all three. Sinclair proved his quality whilst at Swansea City under Brendan Rodgers but many were surprised City came in for him, especially with the clust of players they have at the club. Everton boss David Moyes is open to loan deals when the January transfer window opens next Monday and reports say Sinclair could be an option for the Toffees until the end of the season. -Gelo
