The iconic club was founded in 1889 and has had success in domestic cup competitions such as Durand cup (3rd oldest club cup competition after the English and Scottish FA cups), IFA Shield (4th oldest) and Rovers cup. On September 25th 1977, Mohun Bagan A.C. played a friendly match at the Eden Gardens against the star studded New York Cosmos, a team from the original North American Soccer League that comprised of legendary players such as Pelé, Franz Beckenbauer, Carlos Alberto and Giorgio Chinaglia. The match ended as a 2-2 draw with the Indian players receiving a lot of praise for their performance. Moreover, it was only a last gasp penalty from the striker Chinaglia that denied the Indian club a historic win. Such was the quality of Indian football until the early 1980s. Inter Milan are chasing former Liverpool man Fernando Torres or as they call him in Spain "El Ninio" to help them revive and bolster their squad for next season. The 30-year-old Spain striker Fernando Torres was a deadly goal scorer for both Athletico Madrid and Liverpool. However, after his 50 Million Pound transfer to Chelsea he has failed to hit the hights that the price tag promised. Torres has scored 44 goals for Chelsea over 4 seasons and looks to be offloaded as Chelsea look to raise their transfer funds to pounce on Diego Costa or Edison Cavani. However, Athletico Madrid have been interested in Torres and could be used in a Player Swap with Diego Costa. If Inter don't get El Ninio they will try to secrue the services of Man City's Dzeko.

Why Champions League won't be entertaining if Arsenal and Man Utd don't qualify for next year's competition :- (1) Man City under any coach are not made for this competition, they ruin the chances of winning the cup by English teams. They flop every time even after spending 3 times the cost of the entire Arsenal team. If a team like Arsenal or Man Utd spent equal to Man City on players, they could be winning the English and European champions every season. (2) Chelsea with Mourinho incharge will never win a Champions League final. Both Porto and Inter Milan use tactical system and with this it's very easy for any coach to switch between systems after reading the opponents system. Chelsea play offensive system which once mastered by the opponent, they fail to switch. Mourinho won Champions League final with inter Milan and FC Porto. Andre Villas Boas also utilised FC porto's tactical play to also win a Europa final. When Chelsea won Uefa champs league under Roberto Di Mateo, he introduced tactical game ...

Coutinho would be Liverpool's second signing of the January transfer window ...

Sunderland What they need in a nutshell: A centre-back to tighten up their defence. Window shopping: Sunderland have been short of goals but I think they have bigger problems in defence. They are in serious need of a new centre-back because Wes Brown has not been fit and John O'Shea has been poor. Their other worry at the back is that Tottenham might recall Danny Rose from his loan but, if they can keep him, and tighten up in the middle then they are not a million miles away from being a good side. Arsenal take the opportunity to cast an eye over a Man City player Nigel De Jong has fallen out of favour at the Etihad Stadium during the club’s Premier League winning campaign last term and now reports in the media have surfaced about potential interest from Italy with Inter Milan looking to bring the Dutchman to the San Siro. The former European Cup winners will face a serious threat from Arsenal, if reports are to be believed, as the London based club are looking to line up a move in order to bring some bite to their midfield. De Jong was a staple member of the Man City midfield since his arrival from Hamburg for 18 million pounds in 2009. The player is known as the lawnmower for his ability to break down the play of the opposition while sitting comfortably in his slot, in front of the defence. The Dutchman usually plays alongside a midfielder in the holding role which helps increase his impact on the team’s performance. For Arsenal, De Jong will be able to provide a concrete cover for a defence t ...

He says the Man City striker is such a handful because he had the toughest of upbringings. Arnautovic said: “I spent a whole year with him in our room at Inter Milan. We were both the youngest players in the squad. We lived in that room most of the time. And in our spare time we were always doing things together. “Is he as mad as people say? I have never had any problems with him. I was on a great level with him and up until this day I still really get on with him so well. “But I think people find him difficult to handle because of his very difficult childhood. People do not realise he has a lot of bad memories about that time. But then again the media must not portray him like that all the time. He really is a super guy and a good man.’’ My Take Hm!
