The fact that Mohun Bagan A.C., an club based in is older than some of the European giants like Chelsea, Man City, Liverpool, Real Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern Munich, AC Milan, Inter Milan, Juventus and PSG. The iconic club was founded in 1889 and has had success in domestic cup competitions such as Durand cup (3rd oldest club cup competition after the English and Scottish FA cups), IFA Shield (4th oldest) and Rovers cup. On September 25th 1977, Mohun Bagan A.C. played a friendly match at the Eden Gardens against the star studded New York Cosmos, a team from the original North American Soccer League that comprised of legendary players such as Pelé, Franz Beckenbauer, Carlos Alberto and Giorgio Chinaglia. The match ended as a 2-2 draw with the Indian players receiving a lot of praise for their performance. Moreover, it was only a last gasp penalty from the striker Chinaglia that denied the Indian club a historic win. Such was the quality of Indian football until the early 1980s. Here is a picture from that ...

No Augero No Victory for City 😄😄😄 "Bayern Munich is leading 😊😊 Man City better grab this opportunity and score"
Edin Džeko: I'm there when Man City need me Edin Dzeko is planning to be the City goal hero in Rome. And the Bosnian Diamond, who has form for coming up with vital strikes, hopes he can help the Blues complete an unlikely Champions League escape, despite losing top scorer Sergio Aguero. The Blues HAVE to score, and better CSKA Moscow’s result at Bayern Munich, to grab second place in their group. But the loss of Aguero, out with knee ligament damage, was a severe blow, especially as Dzeko and Stevan Jovetic are both coming back from injury. Dzeko has been the City saviour many times, not least on the final day of the incredible 2012 title race, when he scored the “other” added time goal that set up Aguero’s immortal winner. He id it again last season, coming into the team when Aguero and Jovetic were injured, and Alvaro Negredo’s form had nosedived, and bagged crucial goals at Crystal Palace and Everton, and in a nervy home win over Aston Villa. Now City will look to him again, either as a star ...

FIFA 15 will be released throughout the world over the course of this week, once again limiting the social lives of millions to expletive-laced tirades aimed at friends and strangers alike. Of course, those initial moments playing the new edition of FIFA are always special for every gamer and many will already know what they'll do first before they even buy the game. This largely depends on which club the gamer supports. The following is a sampling of likely first actions in FIFA 15 for various fanbases. Barcelona — Start Luis Suarez and laugh defiantly at FIFA's inability to enforce their real-life punishments in their own video game. Chelsea — Remove Frank Lampard from Man City's roster and then cry because you know it's already too late. Manchester United — Put Cristiano Ronaldo back on the team and then satisfy the overwhelming urge to pleasure yourself before even playing a match (against MK Dons on the easiest difficulty setting). Borussia Dortmund — Attempt to delete Bayern Munich from the ...

Assessing the EPL teams in the UCL this season, there are 3 participants and 1 Contender. When you look at a team like Man City player for player you can call them contenders but I beg to disagree because of their manager and lets be honest their team leader Kompany hasn't achieved much nor lacks the psychological strength to lift his team mates against the big teams of Europe, Then the case of the supposed to be great Pellegrini, as much as he is a good coach he isn't a great coach I once told Rightéous Efe Egbogho that he is just an improved version of Wenger he can lay down a good initial plan but he is not tactically flexible enough apart from that his psychological strength just isn't there. I remember when Guardiola qualified for his first UCL finals. I remember his Press Conference he said "I am happy we reached the finals and we are going to attack" He said it with so much confidence anybody would believe in him, I can't just see that trait in Pellegrini and it showed against Bayern Munich. City ...

Champions League draw in full: Real Madrid face Liverpool, Barcelona versus PSG The reigning champions discovered who they will face in the early stages on Thursday, with Bayern Munich, Man City, Roma and CSKA Moscow the best candidate as the Group of Death. Reigning European champions Real Madrid have been drawn with five- time winners Liverpool in the Champions League group stage draw held in Monaco on Thursday. Carlo Ancelotti's men achieved la Decima in May with a final win over Atletico Madrid and they will also face Swiss side Basel and Bulgarian champions Ludogorets in Group B as they try to become to first team in Champions League history to win back-to-back titles. Bayern Munich, coached by former winner Pep Guardiola, will aim for their fourth final in six years but have arguably been handed the Group of Death as they will need to overcome Premier League winners Manchester City, Russian side CSKA Moscow and Serie A runners-up Roma to get out of Group E. Barcelona will need to navigate their way ...

Bayern Munchen v Real Madrid // Tip Over 3.5 In this UEFA Champions League second leg semifinal between Bayern Munich and Real Madrid, Madrid is in great form. They have won their last eight matches, scoring 25 goals and conceding just once. Today’s game is most important of the season for Real Madrid as they seek to reach their first Champions League final in many years, and they are well prepared with star man Cristiano Ronaldo to start after a recent hamstring problem, while Pepe, Karim Benzema and Gareth Bale who missed out on the 4-0 thrashing over Osasuna are all fit to feature tonight. On the other hand Bayern Munich are on their worst run of form this season, despite defeating Werder Bremen 5-2 at the weekend this month they suffered three defeats out of their last six games losing to Real Madrid, Borussia Dortmund and FC Augsburg, also in Champion Leagues they lost at the Allianz Arena to Arsenal and Man City. Tonight they have to overturn a 1-0 first leg deficit in order to progress to the ...
Bayern Munich has defeated Man City, Arsenal, and Man United all in this same UCL season. The only reasonable thing for UEFA to do is hand them Chelsea in the Semis, in order for them to complete the English demolition
Am seriously waiting for my leader, Stan Okeke and other good friends and colleagues including Obi Petrus, Cyril Okonkwo, Chinwe Ugele, Jude Ossai, Moses Oyediran, among many other chelsea fans to react formally to their match tonight against PSG. They all predicted doom for Man Utd shortly after the draws but at last, Man Utd is about the only hope of England to get to the semi-finals of the Champions League. All of them that made mouth, Arsenal, (beaten 2-0 at home by Bayern Munich), Man City (knocked out by Barcelona) and now Chelsea (roundly beaten by PSG) are now quiet, the whole town is calm and Man Utd, the pride of England is reigning. If you think you can do it, please lets meet at the global stage not just at the premiership. Man U for Life. If you can't beat them, at least you can clap for them
WENGER AND PELLEGRINI LEARNED A LESSON I believe after last night Man United vs Bayern Munich, Wenger and Pellegrini learned a lesson on how to stop tiki-tak playing teams(Barcelona and Munich). Barcelona and Munich for the past seasons or so have made England a happy hunting ground, with wins over Man City and Arsenal. Simple: Don't give them respect, attack them, use 2 or 3 strikers. The worst part is that, with 16years in Champion League and about 10 games against tiki-tak teams, Wenger has to learn this from Davida Moyeye of all ppl...shame!
FT: Man Utd 4-1 Aston Villa. West Wood (1) for A. Villa Rooney (2) Mata (1) Chicharito (1) Good win for the Red Devils as they prepare to face Bayern Munich on Tuesday, 1st of April in the UEFA Champions League Quarter-final 1st leg. . 8:30pm Arsenal v Man City Can Arsenal bounce back from their last two disapointing performance to shock title favourites Man City tonight?
Man United are preparing the ground for the shock return of Sir Alex Ferguson as they look to replace under-fire boss David Moyes. CaughtOffside understands that Man United’s American owners are ready to bite the bullet and will sack Moyes in the coming weeks with the Scot’s only hope of retaining the position in charge of the club being an unlikely win over all conquering Bayern Munich in the Champions League quarter-finals. Moyes bought himself some time with Man United’s 3-0 victory over Olympiakos but the result has been seen by many as merely papering over the cracks and the club’s senior players are said to have given up on the Scot and there is a sense within Old Trafford that it’s only a matter of time before the former Everton manager’s time in charge comes to an imminent end. Recent thrashings at the hands of arch rivals Liverpool and Man City may well act as the final nail in David Moyes’s managerial coffin and the Glazers are ready to call time on his brief reign as Man United ma ...
ManU 0-3 Man City!! Just wondering what damage Bayern Munich is gonna do to ManU!!
Bayern Munich has already won the Bundesliga. In England, Man City may lose their next 3 games at will, but they will still win that league. Someone tell Arsenal that, even number 4 is not a guarantee, Everton is a few points behind with a game in hand. In Spain today, Barcelona v Celta de Vigo, Sevilla v Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid v Granada. Its tough this time round!

FT 2-1 (Kompany 89', red card: Zabaleta 78') (Messi 67', Alves 90+1') Barca through to the final eight for the seventh straight season with a 4-1 aggregate win over Man City. Messi opened the scoring before Kompany pulled one back for City but Alves finished them off in injury-time. Good effort from City but enough to dismantle the classy Barca. 2-1 (Sam 6', red card: Can 68') (Marquinhos 13', Lavezzi 53') PSG comfortably through to the quarters after beating Bayer Leverkusen 6-1 on aggregate. Sidney Sam gave Bayer hope with an early goal in Paris but Marquinhos and Lavezzi stemmed the tide. UCL: Barcelona down Man City, PSG hammer Leverkusen Two goals courtesy of Lionel Messi and Dani Alves were all Bracelona needed to emerge victorious at the Etihad Stadium against a Manchester City team that was reduced to ten men. In Germany, two goals from Zlatan Ibrahimovic and a goal each from Blaise Matuidi and Yohan Cabaye ensured Paris Saint German humbles Bayer Levrkusen at the Bay Arena. It was a brave effort from ten-man Manchester City but in the end, the numerical difference told and Barcelona took full advantage. A Lionel Messi penalty after the No10 had been brought down by Martín Demichelis and a sublime team goal finished by Daniel Alves has given City a lot to do in the second leg. For PSG, it was a perfect away performance as they overcame Leverkusen by four goals to nil. 2-0 Barca and now Man City has to come to the Nou Camp. And tomorrow Arsenal plays Bayern Munich and I say 2-1 Bayern will win they got the better overall team and they got in my opinion the best keeper. And did anybody see the goal that Zlatan scored it was just a goalaso
Talking to Gemma Richards about the Champions League games and its making me wish I could just stick a little £1 bet on Yaya Toure first goal 3-2 Man City and Thomas Muller 1st goal 2-3 Bayern Munich

Total no. of goals scored by top clubs of Europe so far this season (in all competitions) : Man City - 117 Barcelona - 111 Real Madrid - 109 Bayern Munich - 99 PSG - 87 Atletico Madrid - 86 Juventus - 78 Chelsea - 75 Borussia Dortmund - 74 Arsenal - 67
The drive, passion, enthusiasm and energy in Barcelona players are missing, now I cannot boast of their game even though they are winning. I see those components in Real Madrid, Man City, Bayern Munich, Chelsea and Athletico Madrid...our coach is not a motivator or inspiring.
Can anyone stop 'torturers' Man City? 30 January 2014 Updated 07:18 GMT By Phil McNulty - Chief football writer, BBC Sport As the slanging match broke out in West London between Jose Mourinho and Sam Allardyce, Manuel Pellegrini was letting Manchester City do all his talking just off the Seven Sisters Road. While Chelsea manager Mourinho accused West Ham United of dealing in "19th-century football" in a goalless draw at Stamford Bridge - and Allardyce delivered a typically blunt response - Pellegrini's Manchester City were back at the top of the Premier League. And there was nothing "19th century" about the manner of the 5-1 beating of Tottenham at White Hart Lane that put them there. This was modern, 21st-century football at its finest, "the best team on the planet" according to beaten manager Tim Sherwood. This claim will be put to the test when City face Barcelona in the last 16 of the Champions League - but they have already beaten holders Bayern Munich in their own Allianz Arena and are now producing ...
Gomina Abdulrazak asked for an update on the FA Cup.. so here it is: Sunday's FA Cup draw threw up two blockbuster fixtures for the fifth round. Chelsea, who saw off Stoke on Sunday afternoon, face a tricky away fixture against Manchester City, who came from behind to defeat Watford a day earlier. Arsenal, meanwhile, host Liverpool - meaning they face the Reds (twice), Manchester United and Bayern Munich in a horror run of fixtures in February. There are two more all-Premier League fixtures, with Sunderland facing Southampton and Everton playing host to Swansea. The games will take place on the weekend of February 15 and 16. The draw in full: •Man City vs Chelsea •Sheffield United/Fulham vs Nottingham Forest/Preston •Arsenal vs Liverpool •Brighton vs Hull •Cardiff vs Wigan •Sheffield Wednesday vs Charlton •Sunderland vs Southampton •Everton vs Swansea
Bayern Munich join race for Juan Mata, Sergio Aguero could make a surprise return for Man City, it's Monday's gossip:
Man City can beat Arsenal, Liverpool & Bayern Munich over the last month but not the mighty Blackburn Rovers.
L’Equipe Name Their Team Of 2013: Suarez Shunned, Bayern Munich Dominate And Two Man City Players Make The Grade. L’Equipe has produced their own best 11 of the year, with five Bayern Munich players making the cut. The Premier League only sees two entries, courtesy of Man City stars Vincent Kompany and Yaya Touré. The most contentious choice must be Thomas Muller, Bayern’s attacker who is comfortable in any position across the front three or indeed, behind the striker. No doubt many of you will argue for Luis Suarez to get in ahead of the German, or maybe Ibrahimovic? As for the rest of the team, it’s pretty decent. So what do you geniuses think? Goalkeeper: Manuel Neuer (Bayern Munich) Right-back: Philippe Lahm (Bayern Munich) Centre-Half: Vincent Kompany (Manchester City) Centre-Half: Thiago Silva (PSG) Left-back: Jordi Alba (Barcelona) Central Midfield: Yaya Touré (Manchester City) Central Midfield: Bastian Schweinsteiger (Bayern Munich) Wide Right: Cristiano Ronaldo (Real Madrid) Central At ...
Man City have now scored 53 goals in the Premier League this season - according to BT Sport commentator Ian Darke that's more than any team in Europe - including Barcelona and Bayern Munich - apart from Rangers.
Premier League Matchday 18 Thursday, December 26, 8:30 PM East African Time Venue:Etihad Stadium Manchester City FC vs Liverpool FC Liverpool are on a roll after high-scoring victories against Norwich City, West Ham, Tottenham and Cardiff, but finish the year with two difficult trips to Manchester City and Chelsea. Boxing Day’s mouthwatering clash at the City of Manchester Stadium is live from 8.30pm and Brendan Rodgers will be hoping to claim a victory to ensure Liverpool go into Sunday’s game at Chelsea as league leaders. Manchester City are also in good form though with recent wins over both Bayern Munich and Arsenal. City have won all eight Premier League games at home so far this season. They return to Manchester off the back of a 4-2 win over Fulham at Craven Cottage on Saturday afternoon. However, Manuel Pellegrini’s side are without leading scorer Sergio Aguero who could be out until the end of January with a leg muscle problem. In last year’s fixture, Liverpool held Man City to a 2-2 draw ...

Manchester City v Barcelona What a tie this is. Manchester City, fresh off a 6-3 hammering of league leaders Arsenal, seem to be unbeatable at home and are scoring goals for fun. The 3-2 win at Bayern Munich was proof that City are ready to fire with the big boys in Europe this season. The partnership of Sergio Aguero and Alvaro Negredo is a threat to any team on their day and it will be no different here. There are certain players that City have to keep fit however, such as captain Vincent Kompany, Aguero and Yaya Toure. If they do this, City have a real chance. The only concern for City is their struggling away form, which has been evident in the league. It remains to be seen as to whether they will cope with Barca's fluent passing at the Camp Nou. Although this seems like a very tough draw for Man City, Barcelona are certainly not the team that they were three or four years ago. They have major problems at the back, with Gerard Pique proving to be inconsistent, Javier Mascherano not completely settling ...
Manuel Pellegrini paid the price for getting his maths wrong in Munich, seeing his side finish second in a tricky group after failing to grab a fourth goal against the European champions Bayern. The German giants qualified as group winners and as a result of Monday's round of 16 draw, City were dealt perhaps the toughest of opponents: Lionel Messi's Barcelona. In the meantime, Arsenal equally finished second and got the defending champions for their troubles. Arsenal versus Bayern Munich is perhaps having the best team in England (judging by the table) against the best team in the world. This will be a passing festival with Pep Guardiola against Arsene Wenger, two coaches who like to play the same way. QUESTION Looking at (Arsenal versus Bayern Munich and Man City versus Barcelona) which pairing will you consider tougher?

Manchester City wrapped up second spot in their Champions League group, with an impressive victory against Bayern Munich on Tuesday night. City’s win against the reigning European champions was an indication that Manuel Pellegrini’s men are more than capable of holding their own against the giants of the competition, while also dismissing the notion that Pep Guardiola’s side were unbeatable this season. However, with the Bundesliga enjoying a boom in terms of success and recognition, are the fortunes of German clubs in this season’s competition a truer reflection of the league’s standing? Results this season Perhaps the best indication comes in a comparison between the Premier League and the Bundesliga, with four English and four German sides being paired in groups in this season's competition. Man United, Man City, Chelsea and Arsenal played against Bayer Leverkusen, Bayern Munich, Schalke 04 and Borussia Dortmund respectively in the group stages, and the results were perhaps a little surprisin ...

Stamford Bridge side want Etihad Stadium ace. Chelsea are reportedly ready to challenge Bayern Munich in the pursuit of Man City striker Sergio Aguero according to TuttoMercato. The West London side are being linked with a stunning 50m (£42m) bid for the in-form Argentine as Jose Mourinho looks to address his stuttering Stamford Bridge strike-force. Mourinho's current quartet of strikers, Demba Ba, Samuel Eto'o, Fernando Torres and Andre Schurrle have scored just three Premier League goals between them this year, indeed loaned out Belgian Romelu Lukaku has outscored them by managing five in five appearances for Everton. Pep Guardiola is apparently keen on bringing 25 year old Aguero to the Allianz Arena but Mourinho may have other ideas though one wonders if Man City would consider any offers for such a pivotal player, especially one who has only recently been tied down to a long term contract. The former Atletico Madrid man has been a massive success since making his £38m move to the Etihad Stadium bac ...

Preview: Man City v Everton, Sat. 12:45pm, Etihad Stadium Billed as: Inconsistent City host unbeaten Everton as several players face their former club, including Jack Rodwell, Joleon Lescott and Gareth Barry The lowdown Wednesday’s meeting with Bayern Munich was humbling for Manchester City, who lost 3-1 yet could have gone down by four or five if the visitors hadn’t decided to play nice for the last half an hour and Alvaro Negredo hadn’t unleashed a strike sweeter than sugar. City were outplayed, out-passed and out-thought, but in Manuel Pellegrini they have a manager who knows how to put such a result in context. His team played poorly, it’s true, but against surely the best team in the world. The match only served to display the current gap in quality between City and Pep Guardiola’s men, not expose a team who will never perform in the Champions League. Certainly the argument to drop the clangerrific Joe Hart has a whiff of baby and bathwater about it. Manchester City would love a win over .. ...

MUnitedand Trijay Elrphaim BlackJacob Spanish journalist Pepe Gutierrez appeared on MarcaTV today to confirm that Manchester United’s path to Thiago Alcantara is a lot clearer than expected. Alcantara stole the show as Spain retained their Euro u21 title, hitting a first half hattrick in a 4-2 win over Italy. Alcantara’s Barca future remains in doubt after the midfielder’s apparent displeasure at his lack of playing time at the Nou Camp, lead his father Mazinhoto claim that he may be seeking a move away this summer, and David Moyes is ready to pounce and bring the youngster to Old Trafford. Real Madrid had shown an interest but were ruled out of the running early on but that left Man City as well as Pep Guardiola’s Bayern Munich as competition for the starlet’s signature, but Guttierrez claims that both of these sides won’t prove a problem if United make a move for Alcantara, saying: “Tito (Vilanova) met Thiago beforethe EURO and asked him to be patient and stay at Barcelona.” “Due to c ...

If Sheikh Mansour wants to put Man City on the European map he should really think twice about his managerial appointment. I don't think there is a better coach right now than the outgoing Bayern Munchen's Heynckes right now after winning the treble. People might be tempted to say this is the best Bayern Munich's side ever. I think Heynckes will do well at the ailing Real Madrid or the trophy hungry City. Can Manuel Pelligrini bring tropies to the Eastlands? maybe, but I am going to go ahead and rule him out getting past the quarter finals in the Champions League next season. On another note what's going on with heat? Lebron is going to have to go back again to his Cleveland days otherwise he'll miss out on a back to back ring. I hear people entertaining the thought of him being one of the best ever with 4 MVPs well I think he needs a couple of rings to be named in the same sentence as the Kobes, MJs etc.
The Santos forward was getting booed by fans before calling time on South America and choosing the Catalan giants over Real Madrid and Chelsea That Neymar would eventually don a Barcelona shirt was never in much doubt. His mind had long been made up. It was a case of when, rather than if. The 21-year-old leaves Brazil with over 100 senior goals, having twice been named the continent’s best player and having starred so regularly in domestic Brazil he became the first player since Pele to be declared hors concours. His performances had produced equally stunning results for his club, too, as he led the Peixe to three state championship titles, a Copa do Brasil and their first Copa Libertadores success in almost half a century. Neymar was the hottest property in world football. His father revealed there were as many as six bids with the highest arriving from Chelsea, and a total package worth more than the €120 million offered by Real Madrid on Friday. Major newspapers are wetting themselves to link a club to Bale. It's the age old story of all guess a club with money and then crow if it actually happens, even though it's a wild guess. The People are the latest contestants. Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly the latest club to enter the race for Gareth Bale. The Tottenham Hotspur winger's impressive form has seen his future being called into question at the club, with rumours of moves to Bayern Munich and Real Madrid. PSG have now also stated their interest in the Wales international, according to The People, and could bid as much as £50m for left-sided Bale in the summer. Bale signed for Spurs from Southampton in 2007 and signed a new four-year deal in June 2012. Which paper will plump for Barcelona, Man City and Chelsea?
Man City Battle Barcelona for £26m German Centre-Back Etihad Stadium side hope to edge Nou Camp in the pursuit of Borussia Dortmund defender. Man City will battle Barcelona for highly rated German defnnder Mats Hummels this summer according to the Express. Roberto Mancini is apparently looking to freshen up his defence and sees the Borussia Dortmund centre-back as the man for the job, unfortunately for the Etihad Stadium boss this is exactly what Barcelona boss Tito Vilanova has in mind. 24 year old Hummels could well be tempted by a move to either club as it looks very likely his side are set to lose their Bundesliga crown to Bayern Munich this term. Hummels is tied to Dortmund until 2016 and this source believes a bid in the region of £26m would be considered by the Westfalenstadion side and in a straight bidding war Man City would perhaps edge Barcelona for the rock solid defender. Mancini may well see Hummels as the man to replace Joleon Lescott, who has been linked with a move back to Everton.
Finally this morning a quick update on where we stand. Athletico Madrid did win last night but as previously advised, Chelsea and Barcelona both drew so the pot was decimated. With Athletico being the only winner, the bet paid £13.64 taking the pot to £27.84. Given the dire situation, I put on a 5 team accumulator through my own account. It was a £50 bet and it came in paying £282.02. I advised I would pay £100 into the Peoples Coupon and take out the equivalent stake needed to have won that amount on the bet I placed which works out as follows:- £282.02/50 = £5.64. Therefore to win £100 we would have had to bet £100/£5.64 = £17.73. I will therefore pay £100 into our pot and take out £17.73 leaving a total in the pot for the weekend bet of £27.84 + £100 - £17.73 = £110.11 :-) There are still a few people to pick their weekend selections and today is the last day so please be quick here is the shortlist again:- (1/10) Bayern Munich v Greunter Furth (1/4) Man City v Fulham (1/3) QOS v Forfa ...
HARD TACKLE Pep Guardiola has put Premier League clubs on red alert after declaring that it is his ambition to manage in England. The former Barcelona coach has spent this season on a self-imposed sabattical following four years of enormous success at the Catalan club, during which time he won 14 trophies. The 41-year-old is one of the most sought-after managers in football and, after being linked with Bayern Munich, his latest revelation will give fresh hope to his English suitors Arsenal Fc, Chelsea Fc, Manchester City, Manchester United are all likely suitors of Pep Guardiola but our battlers reckon Chelsea and Man City should top the bill. QUESTION Should it be Man City or Chelsea for Guardiola?

Its not a good year for English teams in the EUFA Champions League. On Tuesday,Man City made the history books for the worst perfomance by an English team in the UEFA Champions League in its 20 year history and also missed out on Europa League place and yesterday Despite thrashing Nords-yae-land 6-1,Chelsea became the first Champions League holders to go out in the group phase as Juventus's 1 nil victory against Shakhtar Donetsk in Ukraine meant the Blues were out only seven months after claiming the crown against Bayern Munich as they finished their group campaign with 10 points - level with Shakhtar, but below the Ukrainian champions by virtue of an inferior head-to-head record.Chelsea’s only hope of securing silverware now lies in the Europa League.Chelsea though still have to represent Europe, at the Club World Cup in Japan next wek.The tournament features the champions of all six Fifa Confederations with Egypt's Al Alhy representing Africa
Man City, Chelsea and Bayern chasing Ukrainian keeper Berezovsky 31 Oct 2012 14:02 The big 22-year-old gloveman is making a stir at Obolon Kiev - and looks like busting into Ukraine national side, so it's a case of buy early before the rush. Manchester City and Chelsea are poised to get it in on in a three-way scuffle with Bayern Munich for the signature of rising cat Igor Berezovsky. The 22-year-old goalkeeper has been causing a stir with his performances in the Ukrainian second tier with Obolon Kiev. The 6ft 4in glover is currently with the Ukraine Under-21 side, but expected to make the leap up to senior level in the current World Cup qualifying campaign, with reports suggesting he'll be guarding the onion bag for the games against Poland and Moldova in March. Man City boss Roberto Mancini is rumoured to be viewing the lad as an ideal back up for Joe Hart, and Chelsea manager Roberto Di Matteo is looking to put a rocket up the shorts of Petr Cech, whose form has grown patchy for the Blues.
In the first seven league games Mikel Arteta has completed 617 passes – that's 74 more than the league's next best, Yaya Toure (543). His passing accuracy rate (93.77 per cent) is also better than any other player in the top 50 for most completed passes in the Premier League. In addition Arteta has completed 173 passes in two Champions League games, making 790 in all, meaning he makes a successful pass every 61.5 seconds in all. Carl Jenkinson has completed 365 passes in the Premier League, more than any other defender in the division. Overall this season Arsenal have completed 3,473 passes in the Premier League (out of 3,992 attempted), putting them second behind Man City. In the Champions League Arsenal have completed 1,007 passes from the two games, placing them fourth behind Barcelona (1,624), Manchester United (1,191) and Bayern Munich (1,069). Individually, Arteta's tally of 173 successful passes puts him second in the competition, behind Xavi (270), though Arteta does have a slightly better compl ...
Another fantastic display by Real Madrid - the game I watched - in Europe after annihilating Ajax 4-1 away from home including a Ronaldo hat - trick and an absolutely exquisite goal by Benzema whereas Man City were fortunate not to lose by a heavy scoreline to Borussia Dortmund (would have done if it were not for the heroics of Hart and poor finishing by Dortmund). Real obviously love beating the living daylights out of Ajax as Real have beaten Ajax on five occasions - five in a row to be exact - in the Champions League group stage in the past couple of years while scoring 16 and conceding 1 against Ajax lol! I will definitely be picking Real to crusade towards the final while conquering all before this season. They would have won the tournament a couple of seasons ago if it weren't for Barcelona - although Barca have been amazing in Europe in recentt seasons - and were very unfortunate against Bayern last season. But this season will finally be the season that Morinho wins the Champions League with Real ...
Predictions: Dinamo Zagreb 0-1 Porto; PSG 1-0 Dynamo Kiev; Montpellier 0-1 Arsenal; Olympiakos 0-0 Schalke; AC Milan 2-1 Anderlecht; Malaga 2-1 Zenit; Borussia Dortmund 0-0 Ajax; Real Madrid 2-0 Man City; Chelsea 0-0 Juventus; Shakhtar Donetsk 3-1 Nordsjaelland; Bayern Munich 1-1 Valencia; Lille 3-1 Bate; Barcelona 5-1 Spartak Moscow; Celtic 1-1 Benfica; Braga 2-1 Cluj; Man Utd 2-0 Galatasaray. It is a certainty that Real Madrid's and Mourinho's objective will be to conquer Europe and crusade towards the Champions League title this season seeing as they were an absolute sensation in Spain last season in amassing over 100 points while winning the league title. Therefore they will undoubtedly be putting all of their eggs into one basket and will be concentrating on Europe entirely this season as sides normally do once winning their domestic league. My other candidate for the CL league would obviously be Barcelona and you would have to have delusions of grandeur to think Celtic will get anything other than t ...

Mancini has reiterated his desire to fend off reported interest from the likes of Bayern Munich and AC Milan in the two players. "Both Dzeko and Tevez will stay at City," Mancini told Sky Italia. "We are a great team and we try to keep all our great players. It won't be easy but they will stay here. "We still lack a couple of players to reach [the level of] Real Madrid and Barcelona. Also our mentality has to grow season by season." Mancini, meanwhile, dismissed speculation linking him to the vacant Russia job by insisting that he remained committed to the project at City having recently signed a new five-year contract. "I'm honoured by Russian interest in me, but at Man City there are important plans for the future," the Italian explained. Mario Balotelli will compete with Dzeko and Tevez for a place in the City team next season having earned praise for his performances at Euro 2012 with Italy.

Man City face shocking Champions League draw Manchester City are facing a shocking Champions League draw for next season. The newly-crowned Premier League champions will be in pot two for the draw in Monaco on August 30 and will face one of the top seeds – Barcelona, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, AC Milan or FC Porto – in the group stage. United, Arsenal and holders Chelsea are also among the top seeds but English teams can’t be drawn together until the quarter-finals. The full list of 32 qualifiers for the group stage won’t be known until after the preliminary rounds are completed in August. But with La Liga winners Real Madrid in pot one, Serie A winners Juventus in pot three and Bundesliga winners Borussia Dortmund likely to be in pot four, City could be handed the daunting task of escaping from a four-team ‘Champions League’ to qualify for the knock-out stages. My take This is strange! Its a case of the higher you go the harder it becomes

Compliments of Oleg. Observations on Sporting Integrity - Season 2011/12 Let us consider some aspects of sporting integrity in the season just completed. Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan's cash injected Man City beat the Glazer's "more than half a billion of debt" Man Utd to the English Premier League Title. Debt loaded, government supported Real Madrid beat debt loaded, government supported Barcelona to La Liga. They can now buy another worthless piece of land to sell to their government for several millions. Debt loaded, triple HMRC winding-up order Hearts beat Hibs with five loan players to the Scottish Cup. Russian oligarch, Abramovic's plaything, Chelsea, beat Bayern Munich, AKA FC Hollywood, to the Champions' League. The SPL clubs prepare to vote on exactly how many points and how much cash they will take from a fellow club, and therefore how much they themselves will benefit. The SFA decide to hit a club with potentially no players with a transfer embargo. For the appeal they choose Lord Carloway who fa ...

I think Emile Heskey could score 40 goals in this Bayern Munich team judging by Mario Gomez's performance tonight... 3.) BREAKING NEWS: Chelsea fire Di Matteo as he failed to win the Carling Cup and Premier League. 3.) Man City fans now confused, do they go back to the darker shade of blue... 4.) Fernando Torres: scored goals at Liverpool, wins trophies at Chelsea. ...Jokes mixed with facts ☺

Less than forty-eight hours to the finale of a fantastic football season (the real kind where they actually use their feet) in Europe. In my beloved Germany Borussia Dortmund kept the Bundesliga title out of Munich for the second year running. Italy saw Juventus reclaim their crown after nine years without losing in league play all season. A battle Real all season long that saw Los Blancos dethrone Barcarole in Spain. And who can forget last Sunday's pulsating finish at the Etihad Stadium as Man City triumphed in the EPL! Now I'm geared up for Saturday to root like *** for Bayern Munich!!! Sorry Jim Carry but as you know a Bayern victory gets my Spurs into next year's Champions League. That trumps any loyalty to the EPL!
Upsets galore in European Football..Man City topped EPL, Real dislodged Barca, Barca and Real both pushed out to the sidelines by Chelsea and Bayern Munich, Europa became an all Spanish affair..there is no more favs it seems..it is anybody's game...European Football is always a treat to watch...action never stops..
1999- My fav Champions League match of all time.. Manchester United Vs Bayern Munich, Champions League Final in Camp Nou the latter dominated the whole 90 mins leading 1-0, just to lose it to the Red Devils in the stoppage time, wen they scored two consectv goals. 13 years later Man City did the same but playing against different teams... Hate to say it but Man. City did desrvd the title
Man City winning the EPL title proves once again why the German Bundesliga is the best league to watch. You can't buy yourself a title there. Just ask Bayern Munich. It's time for ESPN and Fox Soccer to show Americans a real competitive league, similar to the NFL, where a mid-tier team can rise to title contender in just 3 years, and the owner's fortune is irrelevant.
Hv u guys noticed something? in German League is Borrusia Dortmund instead of Bayern Munich, in Italy is Juventus instead of AC Milan, in Spain is Real Madrid n in England is Man City. No usual winners
