Got to get this off my chest. I can't turn on any major media outlet with out seeing them blame video games and guns, and turning Adam Lanza into the victim. "Oh poor kid" and "he had such a pitiful life". So he was introverted, his parents got divorced, he lived with his mom, and liked to play video games by himself rather than interact with people around him (many kids are the same way and grow up just fine). Simple fact is that it was him that killed 26 people that day, not the guns. The guns were only a tool to aid him in completing what he already had set out to do. The weapon of choice could have just as easily been gasoline and a match. But those very same guns if placed in the right hands could have prevented this incident from escalating. They all seem to be saying the 300 point drop is because Wall Street is worried about the fiscal cliff. Eminent journalist Datuk A.Kadir Jasin who shared his observation in the discourse "Mass Communication: Between Democracy and Anarchy" here today said anarchy in the digital media blatantly twisted facts and refused to respect the right of reply. He said elements of anarchy in the media occured when they were not well trained in journalism, not knowledgeable about related laws and journalism ethics and literally defined freedom as "journalist".
