Gandhi-Nehru soft power not sole reason behind freedom - Maj Gen G.D. Bakshi (Retd) - Lets write correct history of India, however bitter it may be for any individual or political party. TRUTH must prevail ! - In strictly historical terms, Subhas Bose emerges as primarily responsible for Indian independence, even more perhaps than Mahatma Gandhi and JawaharLal Nehru. Nation states are constructed around a core of seminal ideas and values. They need a national narrative to sustain themselves and serve as a basis for their collective identity that defines who they are and what they stand for. This national narrative is usually based upon the historical path of evolution of that state. The national narrative that the Indian state evolved for itself at the time of its independence, averred that unlike all other Westphalian states that are based upon a monopoly of violence and hard power, the Indian state was unique and exceptional. It was not based upon hard power, but on the soft power concepts of ahimsa, no ...
To, The President of India Rashtrapati Bhavan, New Delhi Phone No: 011-23015321 Subject: Memorandum for request to take action against RSS and allies due to its anti-national policies. Sir, With due respect, as citizens of India and as dutiful students to the sovereign state of India we are hereby submitting our demands for the protection of sovereignty of State: This is in view of the forceful conversions targeting minorities (particularly Muslims and Christians) throughout India and particularly the recent issues that came up in Agra and Aligarh conducted by RSS and its allied wings. The activities of the RSS and its allied wings are against the spirit of the constitution of India and against the ideals of the founders of India like Pt. JawaharLal Nehru and Mahatma Gandhi. While Mahatma Gandhi was against the forceful conversion of any person in Independent India and believed it to be a nation of all its citizens irrespective of religion, Pt. Nehru clearly promoted Secularism. RSS wants India to be a Hi ...
God decided to encourage people to have fewer children and introduced an award scheme. During the procedure at one point, he concentrated on learning about the situation in India. 🇮🇳 He first met JawaharLal Nehru in heaven, and asked him how many children he had during his time on earth. Nehru replied… only one! Happy with the good family planning adopted, God awarded Nehru with a Celestial Rolls Royce! 🚘 Indira Gandhi was next, and God asked the same question. She replied she had two children.👬 God thought, not too bad, so he gave her a BMW. Dr. Radhakrishnan was next in line. God was not pleased to hear that he had six children,👬👭 and gave him a Morris-8 as a kind of punishment. Sometime later, the three (Nehru, Indira and Radhakrishnan) going around in their new cars, saw Mahatma Gandhi on foot!!! Wondering what went wrong; they asked why God hadn't been merciful with him. The Mahatma replied in disgust... "God did not even ask me!!! Some *** told him that I am the Father of the N . ...

Does JawaharLal Nehru really deserve all this respect and reverence? He was the guy responsible for partition which he did with ulterior motives so that the future governance of India would remain with his family. A treacherous act for which the nation suffered for 60 years under the accursed dynasty. Nehru was the one who kicked off communalism in the country through the act of partition very much against stiff opposition from Mahatmaji and Sardar Patel. Resultingly, India had to pay dearly by sacrificing Mahatmaji himself who was sadly misunderstood and assassinated. In one way isn't Nehru responsible for Mahatma Gandhi's death? Wasn't history twisted and distorted to suit the evil agendas of the dynasty? Weren't we Indians hoodwinked all along? This are points worth putting our thinking caps on and pondering upon.
Lies your teacher Taught You answered 4 years ago Indira Gandhi, daughter of JawaharLal Nehru, became Prime Minister of India in 1966. Mrs. Gandhi was born on November 19, 1917 to Jawaharlal and Kamala Nehru. She was named Indira Priyadarshini Nehru. She fell in love and decided to marry Feroze Khan, a family friend. Feroze Khan’s father, Nawab Khan, was a Muslim, and mother was a Persian Muslim. JawaharLal Nehru wanted to become Prime Minister of India. He wanted the thrown to contunue in his family. He furter knew that If India remained united, Jinnah may become its Prime Minister. He did not approve name of her daughter to be called as Indira khan (see society/indiragandhi.cfm). If his dynesty was to continue then Indira has to marry either a Gandhi or a Nehru. Since illeterate indians may confuse marriage of a nehru to a nehru, Jawahar Lal asked/forced Mahatma Gandhi to adopt Feroz Khan so that Prime Ministership remains in Jawahar Lal Family. If Indira Nehru were to marry a Muslim she would loose t ...

Pt. JawaharLal Nehru - A Profile Pt. JawaharLal Nehru was born in Allabahad on November 14, 1889. He received his early education at home under private tutors. At the age of fifteen, he went to England and after two years at Harrow, joined Cambridge University where he took his tripos in Natural Sciences. He was later called to the Bar from Inner Temple. He returned to India in 1912 and plunged straight into politics. Even as a student, he had been interested in the struggle of all nations who suffered under foreign domination. He took keen interest in the Sinn Fein Movement in Ireland. In India, he was inevitably drawn into the struggle for independence. In 1912, he attended the Bankipore Congress as a delegate, and became Secretary of the Home Rule League, Allahabad in 1919. In 1916 he had his first meeting with Mahatma Gandhi and felt immensely inspired by him. He organised the first Kisan March in Pratapgarh District of Uttar Pradesh in 1920. He was twice imprisoned in connection with the Non-Cooperat ...
Priyanka Gandhi'S DOUBLE STANDARDS Brief history. Indira Gandhi converted to Islam, changed the name to Mymuna Beegam to marry Firoz Khan Gandi, a Muslim whose grand father had married a Parsi. Fearing that this would practically destroy her chances of becoming the next Prime Minister, JawaharLal Nehru and Mahatma Gandhi connived . Gandhi adopted Firoz Khan and thus gave his surname to teh Muslim. Thus Firoz Khan became Firoz Gandhi. Indira became Indira Gandhi. So whenever Priyanka Gandhi refers to her family as the Gandhi family, she is hiding two issues. One is it is not really the Gandhi family, but the Nehru family. The second is she is no longer eligible for the Gandhi Surname as she married someone with a different surname. Still she prefers to be called Priyanka Gandhi. Why ? Because the old man Gandhi catches votes more than Nehru or Vadhra ! She is a politician, you know. Priyanka vadhra never answers allegations to her husbands' deals. Instead she asks counter questions or diverts the subject c ...

Lal Bahadur Shastri-A selfless leader, " The Homeless Home Minister".(Must read) When he was the Railway Minister, he owned moral responsibility for a train accident in south India and resigned, in 1956. He did not have a house of his own, even when he was the Home Minister and people used to tease him the "homeless Home Minister". That was Lal Bahadur Shastri, who shares his date of birth with Mahatma Gandhi and was a staunch follower of the latter's path of truth and non-violence. In the first general elections of the Indian Republic, the Congress was returned to power with a huge majority. Shastri, who was the general secretary of the party at that time, had complete control over the selection of partry candidates. But he did not contest the elections. The Prime Minister, JawaharLal Nehru, however, did not wish to leave such an able and honest man outside the government. He persuaded him to seek election to the Rajya Sabha. He won the election and was appointed the Railway Minister. At that time there ...
How ‘secular’ is Congress? A leading Hindu member of the Indian National Congress was embarrassed with her daughter’s wish to marry a person from a different community. This eminent personality was the closest to Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, who is known the world over as Mahatma Gandhi. Indira Priyadarshini the daughter of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru was married to Feroze Khan finally after Mahatma Gandhi lent his name ‘Gandhi’ to Feroze Khan, who from thereafter was called as Feroze Gandhi and not Feroze Khan, and accordingly the daughter of JawaharLal Nehru was called as Indira Gandhi instead of Indira Feroze Khan, thus avoiding a major embarrassment to Nehru family. This manifests how un-secular was Nehru family. Had the Congress and its leader been ‘secular’ as they proclaim, then why was this arrangement of lending the ‘Gandhi’ name to erase ‘Khan’ was done 74 years ago? By this arrangement another great advantage the Nehru family gained was the ‘legacy’ of Mahatma Gandhi on whi ...
On the controversy related to his refusal to wear a skull cap offered by a Muslim cleric a few years back, Modi said, "If wearing a cap were to be seen as a symbol of unity, then I never saw Mahatma Gandhi, Sardar Patel or Pt JawaharLal Nehru wearing such caps."
I read the book- Indian Summer: The Secret History of the End of an Empire, by Alex von Tunzelmann. It is a book with a detailed account on how princely states were unified within India and how division of territories was being done for both India and Pakistan. Many personalities such as Mahatma Gandhi, Sardar Patel, JawaharLal Nehru, Jinnah, Lord Mountbatten, Lady Mountbatten played a role in this process. The book explains how after it was certain that partition was inevitable, the hostility between two communities made each side insecure and ensured that the separation was extremely painful. Within India too, some problems we are facing are on account of these differences that were only subdued and never resolved. One also reads about how within the Hindu community, an angst was being developed against Gandhiji, who in many people's opinion was only trying to bring peace between members of the two communities. Activities of the Hindu Mahasabha and RSS also appeared to prevent the 'appeasement'. The acc ...

And today, hordes of sheep-like consumerists are championing a myopic, fundamentalist and violence-mongering Modi. If he wins, the spine of our nation will be seriously fractured.

Mahatma Gandhi was assassinated in 1948 and Sardar Vallabhai Patel died in 1950. C Rajagopalachari and Rajendra Prasad occupied the ceremonial posts of Governor General and President respectively. Even the giant Dalit leader BR Ambedkar (father of the Constitution) was marginalized from the party and quit in 1951. What that meant was that JawaharLal Nehru stood alone and became a virtual dictator. That was the case till his death in 1964. But at that time no-one suspected that India would be in the grips of a dynasty.
Sarojini Naidu joined the Indian national movement in the wake of partition of Bengal in 1905. She came into contact with Gopal Krishna Gokhale, Rabindranath Tagore, Muhammad Ali Jinnah, Annie Besant, C. P. Ramaswami Iyer, Mahatma Gandhi and JawaharLal Nehru.[4] During 1915-1918, she travelled to different regions in India delivering lectures on social welfare, women's empowerment and nationalism. She also helped to establish the Women's Indian Association (WIA) in 1917.[5] She was sent to London along with Annie Besant, President of WIA, to present the case for the women's vote to the Joint Select Committee.
Who will tell the people that this So-called Gandhi family is a Muslim Family originally? Who will tell them that Mahatma Gandhi suggested Nehru to change Firoz Khan's name to Firoz Gandhi? Who will tell them that Firoz Khan only changed his name and not religion? That's the reason why Indira's marriage was a discreet event, and only a single photo was provided to the media, to prove that they got married in Hindu way. Does this make sense now? You always kept wondering why Congress supported the Muslims unreasonably, to the extent of making them the most dominant force in the country. This is the answer. Even the Nehru lineage is allegedly Muslims. Mughals to be precise. Search for Ghiyasuddin Ghazi on google. He's the same person we know as Gangadhar Nehru. The grand father of JawaharLal Nehru. ~From Firstpost

The history of the Republic of India began on 26 January 1950. The country became an independent nation within the British Commonwealth on 15 August 1947. Concurrently the Muslim-majority northwest and east of British India was separated into the Dominion of Pakistan, by the partition of India . The partition led to a population transfer of more than 10 million people between India and Pakistan and the death of about one million people. Nationalist leader JawaharLal Nehru became the first Prime Minister of India and Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel became the Deputy Prime Minister of India and its Minister of Home Affairs. But the most powerful moral leader Mahatma Gandhi accepted no office. The new constitution of 1950 made India a secular and a democratic state. It has a Hindu majority, a large Muslim minority, and numerous other religious minorities including Sikhs and Christians. The nation faced religious violence, casteism , naxalism , terrorism and regional separatist insurgencies, especially in Jammu and ...

Our colonial legacy: Rulers & the ruled Raghuvendra Tanwar To maintain an elevated identity, symbols of power were created and The Automobiles of the Maharajas. MAHATMA Gandhi was among the first to have spoken on the issue of elitism at great length. In his usual but uniquely uncommon manner, Mahatma Gandhi had warned: “Democracy cannot be run if you leave your thinking to be done by those who live in palaces whether they be the British or our own countrymen” (June 3, 1947, Prayer Meeting). Some days later, Gandhiji again shared his disgust and pain for the manner in which British pomp, pageantry and protocol were being adopted by those on whom the responsibility to govern free India had fallen: “The imposing array of bodyguards and liveried servants moving about in palatial buildings of provincial governors and ministers… when the people are starving for want of food and employment”. On July 28, 1947, Gandhi wrote to JawaharLal Nehru, advising him on the urgent need for simplicity and austerit ...
Remembering Rajaji on his 135th Birth Anniversary-10th December 2013 Rajagopalachari opposed linguistic states Vanam Jwala Narasimha Rao Chakravarthi Rajagopalachari, more popular as Rajaji, was a very well-known lawyer, writer, administrator, politician and statesman of India. He was the one and only Indian to be appointed as Governor General of India. As the staunch follower of Mahatma Gandhi since 1919, he became General-Secretary of the Indian National Congress in 1921. Rajaji, thus, got acquainted with leaders like JawaharLal Nehru, Vallabhbhai Patel, Maulana Azad, Rajendra Prasad and others. Once regarded as Gandhi’s successor and was described by him as the "keeper of my conscience", Rajaji shared close kinship with JawaharLal Nehru and Sardar Patel despite differences. Though Rajaji was one of the top Congress leaders for about half a century, he could not become All India Congress Committee president even once. He was however a member of its Working Committee many times. Rajaji was born on Dece ...

In 1952, the ANC began preparation for a joint Defiance Campaign against apartheid with Indian and communist groups, founding a National Voluntary Board to recruit volunteers. Deciding on a path of nonviolent resistance influenced by Mahatma Gandhi, some considered it the ethical option, but Mandela instead considered it pragmatic. At a Durban rally on 22 June, Mandela addressed an assembled crowd of 10,000, initiating the campaign protests, for which he was arrested and briefly interned in Marshall Square prison. With further protests, the ANC's membership grew from 20,000 to 100,000; the government responded with mass arrests, introducing the Public Safety Act, 1953 to permit martial law. In May, authorities banned Transvaal ANU President J. B. Marks from making public appearances; unable to maintain his position, he recommended Mandela as his successor. Although the ultra-Africanist Bafabegiya group opposed his candidacy, Mandela was elected regional president in October. On 30 July 1952, Mandela was a ...
The world mourns the demise of another leader………. Every Leader in the world pays to tribute to great personalities like Nelson Mandela, Human Rights Activist, and other leaders like him Mahatma Gandhi, JawaharLal Nehru when they pass from this world to the next. After some years have passed, some, leaders and people from these great leaders own countries even accuse them of things they did not do/are not or forget these great souls, who died fighting for their people’s freedom, peace, justice and human rights. Then their names, works become simply a symbol of freedom, peace, human rights, an art to view, to read about in history books. Their view, speeches, quotes are echoed the world over. So, as an RTI reveals, JawaharLal Nehru and Indira Gandhi probably recommended themselves to the President for Bharat Ratna. Mrs. Indira Gandhi, the person responsible for the darkest chapters of India's democracy awarded Bharat Ratna. Brilliant! Can someone please out her achievements? Whatever be the case, Mahatma Gandhi, Dhyanchand, Vishwanathan Anand deserve Bharat Ratna a thousand times more than she does. Period.

Mahatma Gandhi with JawaharLal Nehru (Second from left) and Vallabhbhai Patel (Ninth from left)
Did you know? In the early 20th century, a nationwide struggle for independence gained momentum. Indian National Congress, under the leadership of Bal Gangadhar Tilak, Mahatma Gandhi, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and JawaharLal Nehru engaged in mass campaigns of civil disobedience with millions of protesters joining in inspired by Gandhi’s’ mantra of ‘ahimsa’ - non-violence. Tilak was one of the first and strongest advocates of "Swaraj" (self-rule) and a strong radical in Indian perception. His famous quote, "Swaraj is my birthright, and I shall have it!" is well-remembered in India even today. Muhammad Ali Jinnah continued his constitutional struggle for the rights of minorities in India. Revolutionaries like Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose and Bhagat Singh preached armed revolution to achieve independence. Poets such as Rabindranath Tagore and Kazi Nazrul Islam used literature, poetry and speech as a tool for political wakefulness. Feminists such as Sarojini Naidu and Begum Rokeya championed the cause o ...

Six mistakes of gandhi. There is no doubt that Mahatma Gandhi was the biggest figure in the Indian Independence Movement and we all owe him a gigantic debt. But he also may have made a few mistakes and here’s looking at some of them… 1. Chasing Netaji away: Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose and the Mahatma disagreed on the use of force against the British. Despite that Bose was elected President of the Indian National Congress in 1938. That led to a confrontation and ultimately differences with JawaharLal Nehru too. In the 1939 elections, Netaji was ill and the Mahatma used this opportunity to push his candidate Pattabhi Sitaramayya. However Netaji came on a stretcher and defeated the Mahatma’s candidate. The writing was on the wall. The leadership of the nation had passed from the Mahatma to Netaji. However instead of accepting it gracefully, the Mahatma camp played intense politics and forced Netaji to resign from the Congress. 2. Installing Nehru as Prime Minister: In terms of charisma, Netaji was proba ...
Sardar's bloodline shuns politics, stays in oblivion Prashant Rupera, TNN Mar 18, 2009, 11.01am IST VADODARA: Name Rahul or Priyanka Gandhi of Congress and they would be immediately identified as great grandchildren of JawaharLal Nehru. Tushar Gandhi has gained fame as the great grandson of Mahatma Gandhi. Be it Scindias of both BJP and Congress nationally or sons of Madhavsinh Solanki, Amarsinh Chaudhary and Chimanbhai Patel in Gujarat, dynasty has continued to reign country's political system for decades. But unlike other families, who have ruled the country, descendents of India's Iron Man Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel have neither become public figures nor joined politics. As the country gears up for yet another Lok Sabha polls, TOI traced the family members of Sardar Patel, who are still lying low to keep the promise that the Iron Man had taken to abstain from power. Very few know that Iron Man's youngest grandson is still alive and settled in Vadodara after a stint in academia at the US. Sardar's family ...

GANDHI, NEHRU AND PATEL UNITY WAS BEYOND REASONABLE DOUBT November 10, 2013 at 8:59pm Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel remained united with Mahatma Gandhi and JawaharLal Nehru till his end in the midst of his difference of opinions with Gandhi and Nehru. This truth should never be forgotten by Indians. Sardar Patel remained firm and acted strong not only against Muslim kings, but also against Hindu kings on the point of keeping unity of post-partition India intact. Sardar Patel therefore cannot be labeled either as pro-Hindu or as anti-Muslim. Sardar Patel remained only as true Indian till his death. Unity of post-partition India itself is Indian nationalism remains the message of Sardar Patel forever. –Adv.B.S.More

What I comment on is against the use of language by your reverend friends who until now have done nothing for the nation. Will you be able to provide any statistical data of their contributions for the Nation before and after Independence with authenticity and mentioned in the annals of Indian history. I am not a politician and slave of any family. I respect people who have done some concrete work and sacrificed their good and flourished life for the country. I am not with people negate, disown and hide their misdeeds through lies and manipulations. I do not subscribe to boastful speeches without authority and any responsibility and without proven facts. While delivering the presidential address, the Congress President who advocated the introduction of Roman script for Hindi language was: [2000] (a) Mahatma Gandhi (b) JawaharLal Nehru (c) Abul KalamAzad (d) Subhash Chandra Bose
In para 2 of his address, President Pranab Mukherjee stated: “Gandhiji sought freedom from both foreign rule as well as the indigenous social chains that had imprisoned our society for long…. He promised freedom from want and deprivation. For nearly seven decades now, we have been masters of our destiny. This is then the moment to ask: are we heading in the right direction? Gandhiji’s vision cannot be turned into reality if we spurn the very values that were compulsory to his cause: sincerity of effort, honesty of purpose and sacrifice for the larger good.” It may be added here that apart from the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi, several other leaders of the freedom struggle and distinguished framers of the Constitution of India had affirmed that the chief objective of free India was to end poverty and the suffering of the people. While passing the resolution about Aims and Objects of the Constituent Assembly on 22 January 22, 1947, JawaharLal Nehru declared: “The first task of this Assembl ...

Much has been already discussed about Pt. JawaharLal Nehru’s character and personality. Most often it is seen that, probably because of having a soft corner in our hearts towards him we used to overlook the negative sides of his personality. While criticizing him we end up focusing on his good aspects only. The bad aspects remain un-highlighted. Here, we would try to evaluate some of the negative aspects of Pt. JawaharLal Nehru’s personality. Only negative ones . JawaharLal Nehru: Partition supporter ? . JawaharLal Nehru was not supporting Mahatma Gandhi whole heartedly in the protest against partition of India. He was doing this to gain political advantage over Sardar Ballavbhai Patel so that he can become the Prime Minister of India after independence. His political greed was so high that later he started to blackmail Gaandhiji that if he is not made the Prime Minister of Independent India then He will divide Congress. But if Congress got divided, then it won’t be possible to get independence. Hen ...
Food Security Bill is the Humiliation of the Poor and attack on their SELF Respect. “ POVERTY is the STATE of MIND ” but rather I would say “ POVERTY is “ MIND of the STATE “ _ Mahatma Gandhi said " Poverty is the worst form of Violence " 55 year back JawaharLal Nehru said " We are with Poors ", 35 year back Indira said " We will remove poverty " 25 year back Rajiv said " We are removing poverty " Now Rahul said "Poverty is just a state of mind". Sigmund Freud (1856-1939), the founder & father of pyscho-analysis, if were to be alive today, would have died of shock on reading this theory about Poverty from a great human scientist. He certainly saved himself the trouble for he knew such things coming. Strangely Rahul forgot that his Party brought something big called “ Food Security Bill ” just for this state of mind. So what, this is secular history Modern India's greatest hero - Lenin? NCERT's "secular" history text for Class VII students is called Modern India. It has dozens of photographs spread over its 273 pages. But there is only one famous personality who has deserved a full- page display. You may be entitled to think that only Mahatma Gandhi, the father of the nation, or JawaharLal Nehru, the architect of Modern India, or Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, Modern India's greatest hero, deserves this respect. Surprise, surprise, it is none of the three. A giant picture of Vladimir Ilyich Lenin (1870-1924) frowns tyrannically at the 14 year-old beholder while Russians in greatcoats are shown running towards the (partially obscured by Lenin's head) "Winter Palace". As if this was not enough, the text for Class IX students has devoted 11 pages to glorifying the so-called "Russian Revolution". Now, what is NCERT up to? What is the relevance of Lenin in a book for Indian children, and that too, in a book on "Modern Indian ...

He used his tenure to expand public education, health care and sanitation. He resigned in 1926 citing lack of cooperation from civil servants and obstruction from British authorities.

CIA starts browbeating India on K-issue again “CIA has been playing foul with India right since 1947 on various issues, may it be J&K, North-East or Punjab. CIA has been selling Anglo-American plan through various platforms with the sole intention to sabotage India’s unity and integrity. This was the British plank to divide India first and then sabotage its unity and integrity as a matter of revenge. India achieved independence through a great struggle starting from S. Bhagat Singh to Subhash Chander Bose and finally Mahatma Gandhi. It was CIA who planted Justice Owen Dixon, a Judge of Australian High Court to bail out Pakistan from the obligations of UNCIP Resolution of 13th August, 1948 in which Pakistan was directed to withdraw all its armies from POK and hand over the territory to Indian Army. It was Owen Dixon who came out with a dangerous doctrine to divide J&K on communal lines by establishing an Islamic Republic of Kashmir. Owen Dixon formula was rejected by Pt. IT WAS NOT THE WAY OF GAUTAM BUDDHA; IT WAS THE WAY OF SRI KRISHNA: So when next time you will be asked, “Who make India free from British rule?” Say It was Subhash Chandra Bose and Indian soldiers. If it was non-violence, why didn’t British leave earlier? Gandhi and the nonviolence were there before the attack of Japan also. Why did British have to wait for the Japanese to come and teach them non-violence?” The year 1942 was important. It was the year in which the British Empire suffered a massive defeat at the hands of Japanese people; it was also the year in which Mahatma Gandhi launched his famous but “ill-fated” Quit India Movement. Subhas Bose entered the picture at about that time. In India, people are brought up on the story that Mahatma Gandhi and JawaharLal Nehru led a heroic struggle freeing India from the British rule. Amazingly, the whole thing was accomplished without choice to violence, by the application of a mighty spiritual force called ahimsa (non-violence) by the Mahatma. I ...

Jawaharlal was accepting of this because of his 'modern' up-bringing. Indira's mom, on the other hand, was a traditional Hindu woman and was very stressed. She asked Mahatma Gandhi for help. Gandhi arranged an anonymous abortion for Indira, forced her to return to India, and persuaded her to marry one of his acquaintances, Firoz Gandhi. 2). Sheikh Abdulla was Motilal Nehru's illegal son, and, hence, JawaharLal Nehru's blood brother. Just compare their photographs (especially when Jawahar's cap is off) and you will see the obvious! They virtually look like twin brothers. 3). Harbansh Rai Bachchan was a homosexual poet in Allahabd. His wife, Teji Bachchan, was Nehru's 'intimate' friend. Remember, Nehru became a widower at 45. Amitabh is Nehru's illegal son. No wonder, the Bachchan family has always enjoyed the 'inner-circle' status with the Nehru family. 4). ...
The Great Indian Novel is a satirical novel by Shashi Tharoor. It is a fictional work that takes the story of the Mahabharata, the epic of Hindu mythology, and recasts and resets it in the context of the Indian Independence Movement and the first three decades post-independence. Neglecting National Interest: From Nehru to Sonia-G – N.S. Rajaram "At the time of independence Mahatma Gandhi forced Sardar Patel to withdraw to anoint JawaharLal Nehru as Prime Minister at great cost to the nation. It has now culminated in Sonia Gandhi and her associates simultaneously appeasing anti-national forces while looting the nation, with Manmohan Singh an impotent bystander." - Dr. N.S. Rajaram Gandhi’s impact on the nation’s future B.R. Nanda, in his authorized (by Congress) biography of Mahatma Gandhi writes: “It was inevitable that Gandhi's role as a political leader should loom larger in the public imagination, but the mainsprings of his life lay in religion not politics. ... His deepest strivings were spiritual.” The claim is absurd. It is as a politician that Gandhi has left his mark on history; unlike say Sri Aurobindo and Swami Vivekananda no one today reads his ‘spiritual’ writings. His interpretation of the Bhagavad Gita is a perversity. And the Gandhi family today is n ...
One peculiar thing I noticed about my family is that my great grandfather, Shri Bindeshwari Babu's name is not mentioned in the book, My Experiment's with Truth (Gandhiji's Autobiography) but his nephew's name (Janakdharibabu) has been put. One more thing, India's first Prime Minister's name (JawaharLal Nehru) is also not there but his father's name (Pandit Motilal Nehru) did appeared in it. Muzaffarpur was the centre of politics at the time of non-cooperative movement led by Mahatma Gandhi with national leaders like Dr. Rajendra Prasad (Rajendrababu), Brajkishorebabu and Anugrahababu leading from the front. All were vakils by profession and used to take down the ryots' statements during the Champaran movement. This gives the impression of Bihar which was a richly-diversified and culturous place and still it is. It gave India national leaders and good politicians. Jai Bharat.Jai Bihar!

he Discovery Of India was written by JawaharLal Nehru when he was imprisoned by the British in the Ahmadnagar Prison. He was arrested for taking part in the Quit India Movement. To keep himself occupied during his time there, Nehru started writing a book on the vibrant history and culture of his ancient land. Nehru has encapsulated the history of this vast land right from prehistoric times to the pre- independence period. He has covered, in around 600 pages, the Indus Valley civilization, the Vedic period, the different great empires in both the North and South, the Mughals, the arrival of the European powers in India, and the British rule. Sweeping across topics in its scope, the book discusses the Vedas, Upanishads, the Buddha, and even Mahatma Gandhi, covering every region and notable personality in India’s history. This is an ambitious work that is considered to be a classic in Indian literature. Nehru’s main aim in writing this book was to highlight the rich past of the country and assert India ...

Godse Nathuram Godse Nathuram Vinayak Godse (19 May 1910 – 15 November 1949) was the sole assassin of Mahatma Gandhi , shooting Gandhi in the chest three times at point blank range on 30 January 1948 in New Delhi . Godse, a Hindu nationalist activist from Pune , Maharashtra who resented what he considered was Gandhi's partiality to India's Muslims , plotted the assassination with Narayan Apte and six others. After a trial that lasted over a year, Godse was sentenced to death on 8 November 1949. Although pleas for commutation were made by India's Prime Minister JawaharLal Nehru and by Gandhi's two sons on the grounds that a death sentence would dishonour the legacy of a man opposed to all forms of violence, Godse was hanged a week later. Early life Nathuram Vinayakrao Godse was born a Chitpavan Brahmin at nativity mission center Pune District into a Marathi family. Guha Gargles Goo Again February 9, 2013 By Sandeep Ramachandra Guha never learns, does he? There’s a limit to how many times his bluff has been called. Or is there? Wait…there is a limit to the number of times his bluff has been called but given his record, his capacity to bluff is infinite. When I searched for “Ramachandra Guha” on my blog, it returned forty nine results. The piece you’re now reading happens to be the fiftieth time I’ve called Guha’s bluff. And this is just by me, one individual. Do your own research on the number of folks who have called his bluff. Ramachandra Guha’s metamorphosis is interesting. From being a media-anointed “historian,”—eminent or otherwise…oh wait! His “history” is a little more than volumes upon volumes of textual slavering over JawaharLal Nehru. Because humans don’t live forever, his Nehru-slavering was exhausted and he took it upon himself to slaver over Mahatma Gandhi. Simultaneously, he steadily metamorphosed into a crude kind of Nare ...
Most educated Indians, (based on the hype created by Journalists, Industrialists and so-called economists) very wrongly try to compare India with China. The hype is further made a sort of opera like in that even our PM tries to tell the public that Bombay would be made a Shanghai of India; Bangalore would be made a Singapore of India, etc. All these are ridiculous, to say the least. India, after the great Freedom struggle, under Mahatma Gandhi, became a True democratic state, and JawaharLal Nehru lead us through initiating various development plans without being enslaved by the western phobia. Conspiracy theory on Bapu’s death? 1 February 2013, New Delhi, Anubha Singh Controversial play on Gandhi’s death was staged in the city on Thursday Amidst the thousand controversies and questions unanswered, the story about Partition and Mahatma Gandhi as a historical figure remains a riddle. Many people made various attempts, some where admonished and some ignored. The recent one is made by Rajesh Bali who brought the Father of the Nation at the forefront through his play titled Gandhi: the real story behind the Partition. The play highlights the controversy behind Gandhi’s murder and the role played by JawaharLal Nehru, Muhammad Ali Jinnah and Sardar Ballab Bhai Patel in the Partition of India, along with some facts which are wrapped owing to sensitivity involved. 'My play focusses upon the ugly truth behind Gandhi’s assassination. Not really known to many, but it was clearly a conspiracy. When Gandhi was killed, there were four murder attempts made on him in that very month, still no security a ...
Periyar Erode Venkata Ramasamy (17.9.1879 - 24.12.1973) was a social revolutionary who influenced the politics of the south Indian state of Tamil Nadu for half a century. Periyar, literally meaning a great man was an honorific prefix bestowed on him by the people of Tamil Nadu. He was hailed by a UNESCO Award as ‘the prophet of the new age, the Socrates of south east Asia, father of the social reform movement and arch enemy of ignorance, superstitions, meaningless customs and base manners.’ He was the second son of Venkata (Naicker) and Chinna Thayammal. They were a very affluent family; his father was a popular, rich merchant known for his religious philanthropy. Leaders like Motilal Nehru (father of JawaharLal Nehru, Independent India’s first Prime Minister) and Mahatma Gandhi have stayed at Periyar’s ancestral home in Erode. His school education stopped at the age of ten, and he subsequently entered his father’s trade. Even as a small boy, he was naughty enough to question the contradictions ...

The nation to chaos and democracy a dream to feel? Er. Jitender Kohli Published on 28/01/2013 in Jammu Kashmir NEWSPOINT & on 29/01/2013 in early-Times, English Daily Newspapers The statements of the politicians on various subjects, incidences and ideologies least educate a harmony, adjustability or nationality. One of the old Congress (I) leaders has justified the allegation leveled on BJP & RSS by Sushil Kumar Shinde a congress member at Jaipur not as Home Minister as the government has nothing to do with the congress convocation to officially elevate Rahul Gandhi to the post of Vice-President. The Congress (I) is following all those post- independence ideologies which were settled by JawaharLal Nehru. In Pre-independence era the AICC had a person in Mahatma Gandhi though not member of this party, to run their functioning revolving around national independence with the main object of attaining personal political gains by a particular lobby which ousted twice elected party president Subhash Chander Bose ...

The Purna Swaraj Flag The CWC met in Bombay from 6 to 8 August 1931 and rejected the all-saffron flag model recommended by the Flag Committee on the grounds that it was politically unsuitable and also because the flag reflected a drastic change from the prevailing Swaraj flag. CWC, presided over by Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, was attended by Mahatma Gandhi, Sarojini Naidu, JawaharLal Nehru, Dr M.A. Ansari, Dr Syed Mohammed, Sardul Singh Caveeshar, J.M. Sen Gupta and Dr M.S. Aney. Jairamdas Daulatram, Abul Kalam Azad, Madan Mohan Nialaviya, P. Sitaramayya, T.A.K. Sherwani and Purushottamdas Tandon were members co-opted. The new arrangement was in conformity with the basic principle of flag designing. Saffron over white over green with a charkha (spinning wheel) in navy blue at the centre of the white stripe. Since the color white was interposed between saffron and green, all the three colors stood out distinctly from each other in the new flag. It implied that the colors stood for qualities not communities. ...
Today is the Birth Anniversary of the patriot of patriots, whose very name has become a metaphor for courage, leadership, determination and selfless service to the nation. The mere mention of his name sends an adrenaline rush. The man, whom the nation knows as Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose was a fighter right from his childhood, even though he came from a well-to-do family, his heart was filled with pathos for the have-nots as he realized the devastating effect of British imperialism on the nation. He was inspired by the clarion call of Swami Vivekananda and came under the tutelage of Deshbandhu Chittaranjan Das. On the insistence of his father, he took the ICS examination and was selected, however, his true calling was to the nation and took plunge into the Swadeshi Movement. Soon he came in contact with Mahatma Gandhi and along with JawaharLal Nehru became the cynosure of all eyes. Very soon he realized that freedom cannot begged from the imperialists and only way to earn it was by snatching it. He realize ...

(Jan. 4 '13) In saying that the rise in incidents of rapes and gang rapes in India is a product of Westernization, the RSS chief was saying what I said two decades ago in a letter in Boston Globe, in response to an editorial about the rise in the number of dowry deaths in India, which was close to the following: 'that the editorial correctly notes that such incidents are increasing in number and they usually involve demands by the victim's in-laws for Western - style consumer goods -- cars, VCRs, etc. -- but that this is a consequence of contact with the West. It was to ward off evils such as consumerism that as recently as the turn of the century travel by Indians to foreign lands was considered polluting and was forbidden. Both the young Mahatma Gandhi and JawaharLal Nehru were required to do penance and undergo purification before being allowed back into society on their return from England, though only Gandhi complied. While Gandhi led a mass movement to shun Western goods which he ritually burned in ...
Time was when India was known for its charismatic, mass-based politicians - JawaharLal Nehru, Indira Gandhi, Jayaprakash Narayan were just some of them - who could easily lead from the front. Today, there are not even a handful. The reticent Prime Minister himself has never won an election, and Mrs Gandhi and her son and heir apparent, Rahul Gandhi, hardly speak to the citizens. When he was going around Delhi in 1947 After India's bloody partition, Nehru saw Hindus and Muslims rioting. He jumped out of his car, broke the security cordon, ran into the crowd and stopped the clash. Mahatma Gandhi routinely travelled to trouble spots to stop religious clashes and douse tensions. Last week, not a single leader came forward to engage with protesting students demanding safety for womens.
A short history: it was 1923. That was a time when india was under the british rule. The nationalist movement was sweeping across the country. Mahatma Gandhi and JawaharLal Nehru were two important leaders who had led the movement. In that year the congress was holding its session at kakinada in Andhra Pradesh. A Khadi exhibition was being organised there. A girl of 14 was at the entrance to the exhibition ground. She noticed Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru approaching the gate. He wanted to see the exhibition. "your ticket, please" the girl said to Pandit Nehru. Nehru smiled. He hadn't got a ticket. You cannot in unless you have a ticket" she said. Someone said to the girl, " do you know who you are stopping ? " "yes, i do " said the girl. "he is JawaharLal Nehru. But i have to follow the rules. " Nehru was impressed. " the country needs young women like you," said he. Who was she ? This young woman was Durgabai. She grew up to be a great social worker.
"Our national mission must continue to be what it was when the generation of Mahatma Gandhi, JawaharLal Nehru, Sardar Patel, Rajendra Prasad, Ambedkar and Maulana Azad offered us a tryst with destiny: to eliminate the curse of poverty, and create such opportunities for the young that they can take our India forward by quantum leaps." - Shri Pranab Mukherjee Acceptance Speech after the Swearing-in Ceremony at New Delhi on July 25, 2012.
A book that takes lid off “India’s Biggest Cover Up”. Nitin N Nair: Today when the whole nation is crying against corruption, when politicians and political parties are busy blaming each other, when we are still fighting in the name of God, we wish within ourselves if there could be a leader to liberate us from all this. On 18th August 1945, a man disappeared after shaking the foundation of the British Empire and laying one for Mother India. The Japanese had great respect for him on account of his courage. The Germans held him in high esteem for the endless love he had for his motherland. The British and the Allies feared him the most, for his daredevil acts. The Indian leaders envied him, for he was the uncrowned leader of free India. A leader, who at one point of time enjoyed more mass support than Mahatma Gandhi or JawaharLal Nehru. A leader, who was destined to transform India into a superpower. In our race to move ahead, we lost the greatest visionary leader of our nation, who had dreamed of a ...
Mahatma Gandhi first met JawaharLal Nehru at the annual meeting of the Indian National Congress in the year 1916 at Lucknow.
JawaharLal Nehru:- Entering Politics In 1919, while traveling on a train, Nehru overheard British Brigadier-General Reginald Dyer gloating over the Jallianwala Bagh massacre. The massacre, also known as the Massacre of Amritsar, was an incident in which 379 people were killed and at least 1,200 wounded when the British military stationed there continuously fired for ten minutes on a crowd of unarmed Indians. Upon hearing Dyer’s words, Nehru vowed to fight the British. The incident changed the course of his life. This period in Indian history was marked by a wave of nationalist activity and governmental repression. Nehru joined the Indian National Congress, one of India's two major political parties. Nehru was deeply influenced by the party's leader, Mahatma Gandhi. It was Gandhi's insistence on action to bring about change and greater autonomy from the British that sparked Nehru's interest the most. The British didn't give in easily to Indian demands for freedom, and in late 1921, the Congress Party's c ...

What I am glad abt today is. Not a single one of you posted a greeting to JawaharLal Nehru on his birthday. Glad to know we all realize wat a curse he has been to India. He had blackmailed Mahatma Gandhi to make him the Prime Minister, Even though congress voted overwhelming to make Sardar Vallabhai Patel the president of the Indian National Congress in 1947. Unfortunately Gandhi gave in fearing a civil war within the party, which might have led to the Britosh deciding to stay in a bit longer and we as a nation have suffered at the hands of one family looting the country to the bone. It's time that family lost its prominence in India and all their misdeeds are brought to justice and even stripping them of the Bharat Ratna's they awarded to them selves. May Nehru rot in *** for eternity.
After Congress admitted to have given an interest-free loan of 90 crore rupees to Associated Journals Pvt Ltd for running newspapers founded by JawaharLal Nehru, Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt has approached the party for similar loan to produce a movie that promotes values founded by Mahatma Gandhi.
SUBRAMNIAN SUWAMY'S ALLEGATIONS AGAINST SONIA AND Rahul Gandhi. SUbramanian Swamy has nothing to lose as he has been shamed time and again by court of law through decisions contrary to his allegations AGAINST FAMOUS PERSONALITIES and IS devoid of decency. If someone call a well to do and famous personalities like Sonia, Man Mohan Singh, Rahul, Chidambaram even late Mahatma Gandhi, JawaharLal Nehru, Indira Gandhi etc bound to create a dents in their popularity, image and respect and it is immediately bought by common innocent and ignorant people, vagabond intelligentsia, opposition leadership and also lamped up by greedy for money and TRP hungry paper and Electronic Media. Their diatribe against these personality confuses a large portion of the population of the Nation. How many of us know that Bollywood icon Amitabh Bachchan is the product of 'behind the scene' affair that happened between his mom, Teji Bachchan, and the then Prime Minister of India, JawaharLal Nehru? Teji was a very attractive woman and a frequent visitor to Jawaharlal's residence. Her husband (Haribans Rai Bachchan, Amitabh's supposed father) was a homosexual and was not interested in women. To make things further spicy, Jawaharlal had been widowed for a long time. The same 'high' morals were seen in Nehru's earlier generation too. Sheikh Abdullah was an illegitimate child of Jawaharlal's father, Motilal Nehru. His mother was Motilal's maid servant (imported from Kashmir to Allahabad). This was the reason why Jawaharlal always treated him very softly, despite his anti-India stance. The 'secular' traditions of the Nehru family percolated down to Jawaharlal's daughter, Indira, who became pregnant from a white guy at 16 in UK. Shocked at this, Mahatma Gandhi forced her to go through secret abortion, and ...
India needs more toilets than temples. .Two of the greatest defenders of republican values – JawaharLal Nehru and B R Ambedkar – did precisely that. Both believed that the main challenge for India is to fight its internal demons. Apart from the usual suspects – casteism, communalism, regional chauvinism – they include our sanitary habits that shame us in the eyes of the world. Nehru and Ambedkar would doubtless have endorsed Jairam Ramesh’s statement. It would have met with the approval of Mahatma Gandhi too. A clean toilet, he often averred, does more to promote the public weal than the abracadabra of Teflon religiosity. Padgaonkar
JawaharLal Nehru said ' laziness is your greatest enemy ' . . . . . Mahatma Gandhi said ' always love your enemy ' ;)
JawaharLal Nehru , Mahatma Gandhi charged for on 15 August 1947 ? Why Anna Hazare followers ?
The more I think, the more I see that people who created our constitution did a hasty job and retained many of the British laws. May be they had a deadline to meet. May be they found British Constitution better than Manu Samrati. I am not an expert and in any case, this study would take a long time. But section 124A of IPC which was slapped agaainst Aseem Trivedi and Dr Binayak Sen is an 1860 Act that was promulgated by the British Raj to help control its Indian subjects. British Government convicte Lokmanaya Tilak, Mahatma Gandhi, Maulana Azad and Annie Besant under this law. JawaharLal Nehru didn't want to retain this law, wrote against it, but it seems Babasaheb Ambedkr didn't follow his wishes. UK itself has abolished this law in the UK in 2010 but we need a movement for this and for all the archaic laws that our law-makers have no time to change, busy as qhey are looting the country.
he most readable book on India’s Independence has to be “Freedom at Midnight” by Larry Collins and Dominique Lapierre. I never met Collins but I interviewed Lapierre shortly after the Indian edition of the book (published in India by Vikas in 1975) was released. What made the book so fascinating was that the authors had interviewed nearly all the characters involved in the build-up to India’s Independence. The authors were, therefore, able to give a here-an-now feel in their narrative account to an extent where the reader almost felt that he was privy to not just the words but the thoughts of the main players like Mahatma Gandhi, JawaharLal Nehru, Mohammad Ali Jinnah, Sardar Patel and, of course, the neutral umpire in the form of the last Viceroy Lord Mountbatten. The title of the book derived from the historic speech delivered in Parliament by the first Prime Minister JawaharLal Nehru: “At the stroke of the midnight hour, when the world sleeps, India will awake to life and freedom.” Which s ...
