I tell you what I miss...Lorne Greene's Wild Kingdom. But these channels don't look backwards.
Do you think Lorne Greene banged every girl on Bonanza or just most of them?
During the early 90s, when learning the craft of on-air voicework, I listened to Lorne Greene and Don Pardo nonstop.
Lorne Greene in Police Squad. Bet you never saw this coming.
Or the original Battlestar Galactica, Lorne Greene stood out because he played it entirely seriously & respected his character
I love your pic, but I keep thinking it's Lorne Greene wearing fox ears
I loved the old one too.Lorne Greene and Dirk Benedict..but the newer version was brilliant and dark and v complex.

Did you know...both actor Lorne Greene and author, entrepreneur and public speaker Seth Godin both spent time at Arowhon?
Short of a Lorne Greene level earthquake, yeah.
It's not Dustin Hoffman in the swimming pool. Instead, he sees Walter Brennan, or Larry Tate from Bewitched; Lorne Greene or Don Knotts.

Lorne Greene sings the theme to Bonanza
How sad is it, and how old does it make me feel, that last night I dreamed I was Ben Cartwright's wife (Lorne Greene-the dad on Bonanza) instead of say.Channing Tatum. I mean, it's a dream, right?
I saw some of original Battlestar Galactica, the 1 w/ Lorne Greene, but don't remember much. Never saw Ron's version. Worth it?

*** Hathaway had already been partying with Lorne Greene &. Dirk Benedict so not sure Oracle breast would phase him at all.
Lorne Greene was like the Grandad of the fleet, was a true leader of the fleet
That's why I prefer new-Adama; Lorne Greene's version always came across as infallible thus rather dull in comparison.
Does anyone know why Lorne Greene is telling us all about these Apple products?!
Right. Not the New Coke Battlestar Galactica that the kids like, but the OG one with Lorne Greene.
If you really want to feel sad, watch the ORIGINAL with Lorne Greene.

Bonanza Casting Lorne Greene Ben David Dortort originally considered Lee J. Cobb to portray Ben Cartwright in early 1959. However, the reply from Cobb's agent was that he "didn't do television" and a dead end. Ironically, Cobb had a change of mind and signed on to portray a wealthy rancher in the NBC TV-series based on Owen Wister's "The Virginian" in 1962, which ran for almost a decade on NBC. Some three days after first seeing him, David Dortort met Lorne Greene at a party, and he was mildly impressed with him, perhaps hiring him for the role of Ben Cartwright. Dortort's wife, Rose, insisted Lorne was indeed Ben Cartwright, and David finally agreed and went to see him when he was shooting an episode of "Wagon Train". He was impressed with how Lorne held his own with Ward Bond (who he had considered to play Ben, and how he also liked to bully the other actors on the set), and that was what finally decided him to cast Lorne Greene as Ben Cartwright. Dortort recalled of Lorne, "Lorne not only dominat ...

Watching the 1969-71 seasons of "Bonanza" on Encore Westerns. Any Virginian fans notice the "Bonanza" producers gave Candy the same costume as the Virginian? :) As for the episodes, there are a few original storylines that stand out and many average episodes with stock characters and situations. One of the more ludicrous episodes was the engagement of aging Ben Cartwright (Lorne Greene) and young Mariette Hartley's character. Watching Greene kiss Hartley was cringe worthy. What were the writer's thinking ?
Tribeca Film Festival preview: LI Williams and Bryan Cranston will be there. And Eva Longoria. And Michael Douglas. And Robin Roberts, Aaron Sorkin, Morgan Spurlock and Ron Howard. And Mike Tyson and Evander Holyfield, probably in neutral corners. And thousands and thousands of New York-area moviegoers, who are seldom neutral about anything. There will certainly be some stargazing once the 13th edition of the Tribeca Film Festival opens Wednesday night, promising much discussion about individual movies, the future of cinema and life as we know it. But while hot and cold running celebrities have always been among Tribeca's accessories (the stars mentioned above are involved in various "Tribeca Talks"), it's also a festival for civilians: Unlike Cannes or Sundance, it isn't a festival primarily for industry or press, but for people who arrive by subway, get excited about new movies, actually buy tickets, wait on lines, often enough in a cold spring rain. What they'll see when they get inside? A total of 89 ...

Pretty sure it was all Lorne Greene.
Ever been to a Hollywood movie premiere? I did. At The Chinese Theater in 1974 "EARTHQUAKE" in SENSOROUND! It was cool. There were speakers under the seats and when a "tremblor" (or the spectacular LONG "big shock") hit, you could feel it, it was loud even the big chandeliers inside swayed a bit! Women were screaming in the theater! It was great. The first ensemble disaster movie and we saw the cast there! Charlton Heston, Ava Gardner, George Kennedy, Lorne Greene, Geneviève Bujold, Richard Roundtree, Victoria Principal, Walter Matthau. It won 2 oscars for(of course) Best Sound Mixing & a Special Achievement for Special Effects. Music by JOHN WILLIAMS got a nomination.

Had there actually been a live action version of Thunderbirds in the 1960's, a fine cast would have been Mike Connors (as Scott), Ray Danton (Virgil), Fabian (Alan), Lorne Greene (Jeff), Dorothy Provine (Lady Penelope), Richard Jaeckel (sp? as Gordon), Nick Adams (John), Wende Wagner (Tin-Tin), Torin Thatcher (Hood), James Hong (in old-age make-up to play Kyrano), and Terry Thomas as Parker. Provine and Thomas play what are essentially Lady Penelope and Parker (complete with gadget-laden Rolls Royce) in KISS THE GIRLS AND MAKE THEM DIE, which also stars Mike Connors. That's what got me to thinking about it!

Rats, lost at hockey and we have to keep Bieber. We did get Lorne Greene though so things almost even out.
Let's call this "Obscure Friday." It's 2:45 am, and I'm burning the midnight oil (that's an expression older than Ben Cartwright). But, hey, look what I found! Bonanza was one of the greatest TV shows ever, and a sturdy example of family values. Many of my family & friends grew up with Little Joe, as we all sat around the TV on Sunday nights. Well, the famous family's patriarch, Ben Cartwright, probably could have run for president, if actor Lorne Greene hadn't been Canadian. I never knew this song existed, but now we all do.
The original Battlestar Galactica was terrible. There I said it. All you Lorne Greene fans can go to hello if u don't like it.

(yes, that's right. Fifty THOUSAND!) 2- I am terrified of Elephants. I've been attacked twice! Once when I was little and my cousin took me to Catskill Game Farm and the baby elephant tried to eat me.and then again when I was about 12 and my Aunt took me to a county fair. They tried to get me to pet it so I's stop being afraid and it swung it's trunk and sent my flying! (It was trying to kill me I tell you!) 3- I wanted to grow up to be an airline stewardess. After HS I tried to join the Air Force. To sum it up, I had all the qualifications except being what they deemed aesthetically acceptable. :-( 4 - I've been to seven countries (so far) not nearly as much traveling as I would have liked to do in this life of mine but I'm not done yet! 5 - I'm a total Sci-Fi geek. It all started when I was a kid with the origina .. ...

I'd never heard of him, but from the excitement in the editor's voice, I knew it must be someone famous. And rather than expose my ignorance, I said, "Great!" "He'll meet you on the Bonanza set." He gave me a TV studio address. We didn't yet own a TV, but I'd read about the new quiz shows offering big prizes. Bonanza, I decided, must be one of those. I'd interview Mr. Greene about competitiveness! I spent two hours writing out a long list of questions. The next day I stood in the wings of the sound stage, staring at a log cabin, a covered wagon, a backdrop of Ponderosa pines...I crumpled my sheet of questions. We sat at a table while I fumbles for a question. Beneath his broad ...

Virginia City Jerky Company and Smoke House BBQ Had to add this place...Anyone remember the TV show Bonanza with Lorne Greene, Michael Landon, Dan Blocker and Parnell Roberts? The town they rode to most often was Virginia City and it is in fact a real place. The Comstock Lode made one man rich and Silver mine shafts are all over the town, some odd 70 miles of them to this day. I was up there today, the sidewalks are wooden, there are gun fights in the streets, you will even find this dude roaming about with his donkey...A common phrase as you pass him smiling is "I know the reason you're smiling is cause yer look'in at my *** Virginia City Jerky and Smoke house is the real deal, an old west smoke house where all is made fresh from scratch and any meal in there can be had for under $8.50. Lorne Greene - The saga of the ponderosa from 1964
When Stanwyck's film career declined in 1957, she moved to television. Her 1961–1962 series The Barbara Stanwyck Show was not a ratings success but earned her an Emmy Award. The 1965–1969 Western series The Big Valley on ABC made her one of the most popular actresses on television, winning her another Emmy. She was billed as "Miss Barbara Stanwyck," and her role as frontier family matron Victoria Barkley was likened to that of Ben Cartwright, played by Lorne Greene in the series Bonanza. Stanwyck's costars included Richard Long as Jarrod Thomas Barkley, (who had been in the film All I Desire (1953) with Stanwyck), Peter Breck as the hot-headed Nick Barkley, Linda Evans as Audra Barkley, and Lee Majors as Heath Barkley, the son fathered out of wedlock by the Stanwyck character's husband with another woman. As one of her many roles, she also appeared in the television series, the The Untouchables with Robert Stack. Years later, Stanwyck earned her third Emmy for The Thorn Birds. In 1985, she ...
Kenny Pulley When I was living in Petoskey, Mich. , we came down one year for the Blossom Parade when Lorne Greene and Michael Landon were in the parade . how many of you remember that year ?
Would be perfect if it had Lorne Greene as Adama.
The Rifleman was so cool. Another tough talking New Yorker cleaning up the West. Why are there no single dad tv shows any more? Or are there? I really don't know what's on tv now. The 60's had a lot of single dad with kids, no mom, tv shows. Off the top of my head: The Andy Griffith Show, Bonanza, My Three Sons, The Rifleman, The Courtship of Eddie's Father, Family Affair, The Beverly Hillbillies. Maybe those of us growing up in the 60's and 70's had a warped perspective; I don't know about you, but I learned that women just ruin the family dynamic. I'm going to have my coffee now, so I can talk in my morning Lorne Greene voice. Best voice ever, sorry James Earl Jones, and Michael Butscher.
Just ♥'d this on Sixteen Tons by Lorne Greene.
January 16, 1973…After 14 seasons, NBC-TV aired the 440th and final episode of the western series "Bonanza," starring Lorne Greene, Michael Landon, Dan Blocker and (for its first six years) Pernell Roberts. It ranks as the second-longest-running western series in television history, behind only "Gunsmoke."

With the passing of The Professor and Reuben Kincaid today, you have to go back to 1987 when such a talented duo died on the same day. We lost Lorne Greene and Peter Tosh on the same day that year. Richard Dawson, Lee Majors, and Lyle Waggoner, please stay strong. We need you now, more than ever.
Nothing could be finer than eating at this diner in the morning. BTW Lorne Greene ate here.
BACK IN THE DAY . . . 94 years ago . . . in 1920 - PROHIBITION began. Americans weren't allowed to booze freely for 13 YEARS . . . when the 18th Amendment was finally repealed. David Seville also wrote the 1958 novelty song smash hit, "Witch Doctor"! (His real name was Ross Bagdasarian, and he was Armenian. I don't think Jason Lee is Armenian.) 42 years ago . . . in 1972 - The DALLAS COWBOYS beat the MIAMI DOLPHINS, 24-to-3, to win SUPER BOWL SIX. Dallas quarterback ROGER STAUBACH ...
I have been looking for Lorne Greene, Marty Robbins, Johnny Horton, that kind of stuff, ballads mostly.
There was a Chinese restaurant very close to El Camino Market. It was across the street, probably next to the Dairy Queen. Can't remember the name, but back in the '70's, my friend worked there. One night she was working the register and a man bearing a very strong resemblance to Jackie Gleason walked in and ordered takeout. As she wrote the order down, she asked for his last name and first initial. He looked at her with an odd expression and said, "Gleason, J." Anyone remember the name of the restaurant? Or run smack dab into celebrities? My husband met Lorne Greene at the Cow Palace and he ran into Dan Blocker quite by accident on Mackinac Island at the Grand Hotel. Obviously, a long time ago since both have been gone for a long time now. So. When YOU were young, lo these many decades ago, did you meet anyone? And no fair answering that you purposely set out to get an autograph. It has to be accidental.

The upside of today's library visit: original recipe Battlestar Galactica on DVD!!! And I worked up the gall to watch it! I started watching as soon as I got home & immediately burst into tears at seeing Lorne Greene as Adama. Watching it, I realized my grandparents really loved me-- I used to go to their house to watch it because my parents were watching All in the Family or something. They were totally not sci-fi geeks at all & I'm really wondering if that was maybe their drinking night... Back to BG!
A sleep deprived state leads to serious illness and even death. There are many real life examples to back up this statement. One such example is that of Lorne Greene who played Ben Cartwright in the television series :Bonanza." He had been trying to fulfill a heavy schedule of commitments which gave him little opportunity for the rest his exhausted body needed. He caught a simple cold which quickly developed into pneumonia that required immediate hospitalization. His body's already weakened immune system, due to sleep deprivation, was not able to fight this disease - HE DIED UNEXPECTEDLY. Green, who was in the best of health before this, was in his late sixties. No matter how carefully people may eat or how many vitamin - mineral or herbal supplements they may take or how frequently they may exercise, the bottom line is that without sufficient sleep the body's front-line defenses are going to suffer terribly. Simply put: a consistent program of adequate rest - on a DAILY BASIS IS REQUIRED to keep the immu ...
First ever pop song I remember hearing on the radio was 'Ringo' by Lorne Greene, really miss Bonanza and the era of innocence it represented.
Canadian actor Lorne Greene was cast as Commander Adama in the 1978 "Battlestar Galactica". Green spent 14 years (1959–1973) on the western TV series "Bonanza". After "Bonanza", however, he found work hard to get. He was in a failed cop show, and was forced to narrate a syndicated wildlife show to get work. He made two notable appearances, though: One in the Irwin Allen film "Earthquake", and the other in the TV mini-series "Roots". Glen A. Larson, creator of "Battlestar Galactica", cast Greene as Adama solely on the basis of Greene's continuing popularity as Ben Cartwright in "Bonanza". Larson wanted a respected father-figure with gravitas to be the leader of the rag-tag fleet, and that was Greene. Greene allegedly thought the show was inane and the role beneath him, and was glad that his scenes were limited. But he did not voice his opinion until many years later.
Father and Daughter, Lorne Greene and Ava Gardner, Earthquake. Although it is a bit strange that dad was only a few years older.
The short-lived NBC musical variety series, "The Sammy Davis Jr. Show" began on this date in 1966. Among the guests that night were Richard Chamberlain, Lorne Greene and Don Adams. But the biggest draw of the premiere was special guests Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton. The trio performed "What do the Simple Folk Do?" The series, which aired Fridays at 8:30 p.m., was history by April 22nd. L.A. Times photo of Davis, dated Dec. 14, 1979, was shot by Larry Armstrong.
Lorne Greene read the news for CBC radio long before he found fame on TV's Bonanza.

My number is 8. 1. Aside from the first month after I was born (when we lived on Grantosa Avenue), I lived in the same house on Santa Rosa Boulevard for the first 19 years of my life. 2. I almost drown when I was about 5. We had an indoor pool, I was tip toeing around the perimeter singing a song when I slipped and fell in the deep end. I sunk like a stone. My brother, 6 years older than me and at the opposite end of the pool practicing with his pitchback, jumped in and saved me. 3. Probably as a result, I am afraid of drowning. I had a recurring nightmare when I was a teenager, of falling thru ice and being unable to find the hole I fell thru. 4. If I have a rough fingernail, I will obsess and rub it in anything and anything until I can smooth it. 5. I absolutely love old country music; Dolly Parton, Johnny Cash, the Gatlin Brothers, the Statler Brothers, Roger Miller. 6. When I was a little girl I wanted to marry Lorne Greene. My mother told me he would be dead by the time I was old enough to ...

Fox (comedic actor), Margaret Atwood (novelist), Richard Dreyfus (no intro needed), Mordecai Richler (author of the novel on which Richard Dreyfus's first or second movie is based, THE APPRENTICESHIP OF DUDDY KRAVITZ) and -- That's the list for now.
Nostalgia for sale: Son of 'Bonanza' star Lorne Greene auctions off large collection in Reno ‘When Sky Richarde, personal assistant of Chuck Greene, son of the late television star Lorne Greene, called Anchor Auctions and Appraisal with a collection of Lorne’s memorabilia and personal items for sale, owner and auctioneer Jeff Pilliod said he had every reason to be excited. “When you have a name to match with (the auction), it adds a lot more entry to it,” Pilliod said. “And ‘Bonanza’ was very, very popular.” “Bonanza” was a hit western series that aired on television from 1959 to 1973 and starred Lorne Greene as Ben Cartwright, the patriarch figure of the fictional TV family. Lorne Greene died in September 1987. Greene’s son now lives part-time in Incline Village, close to the site of where the replica of Ponderosa Ranch operated from 1967 until its closure in 2004. Used some Father's Day money to buy a DVD of the old old Battlestar Galactica TV show...the one with Lorne Greene. It's not as bad and campy as I thought. The dialog is a bit clunky, but it's not that badly written.
So, who was the best television father of all time? In my opinion it was Lorne Greene as Ben Cartwright, patriarch of the Ponderosa.
And ben played by lorne greene was the one of two people who stayed on the show throughout its entirety.

The Fifth Season of "Bonanza" Strikes Gold 14 March 2013 9:02 AM, PDT | JustPressPlay.net | See recent JustPressPlay news » Some shows are shockingly timeless in terms of their story quality and general acting and Bonanza is one of them. It always catches me off guard when I'm watching an episode and I realize it could just as easily have been written last week as it would be dead on in nailing some of the common moral quandaries people still struggle with now. The ongoing adventures of the Cartwright father Ben (Lorne Greene) and his three sons from different marriages as they struggle to keep some semblance of civility and peace in the rough and tumble west mining town in which they reside. Few shows age as well as Bonanza has and it's a huge credit to the writing and acting that feature that good ol' fashioned gee whiz factor without ever feeling as corny or sappy as other shows of its era.
Lorne Greene, and a young Michael Landon before ' Little House' my FAV! That's why I loved TR808 so much
I love how Lorne Greene, seven years older than Ava Gardner, plays her father in Earthquake.

That depends. Is it the Edward James Olmos or Lorne Greene version? ;)
Taking a Jimmy Paige out the history book of rock and roll you can see why everyone was Eric Clapton and wanting Jim Morrison of the show. They didn't like Lorne Greene that much but they were fond of Ringo. On any Black Sabbath you could Alice in Chains using Nine Inch Nails as the new Holy Grail. It's Megadeath. Tiny Tim fell from a Jefferson Airplane and tip-toed home through the tulip fields of the Talking Heads only to find folks chanting and dancing to a Billy Idol. And whatever happened to guys with two first names like Elton and John and Billy and Joel? A Rolling Stone gathers no moss and can perform from the crypt. Which just goes to show what my momma always said, "Rock and Roll is just like a box of Slim Whitman chocolates."
First Tricia Helfer on then Lorne Greene gets a shout out on What a great night!
is that new BSG or 1978 Lorne Greene BSG?

I HAVE FOR YOUR INFORMATION A LIST OF FIRSTS THAT OCCURED DURING THIS WEEK IN WESTERN HISTORY: ENJOY: February 11 1861: In one of the last-ditch attempts to avert the Civil War, the House of Representatives today voted for a resolution guaranteeing non-interference in slave states. Unfortunately, it didn't help. February 12 1891, 1915, 1919: This was an oddly good day for western pictures. In order, western film stars Max Terhune, Lorne Greene, and Forrest Tucker were all born on this day. While Lorne Greene of Bonanza is the best-known of these, Terhune and Tucker have dozens of classic B-westerns in their filmography. February 13 1866: Today was a big day for old west desperados, as the James-Younger gang pulled their first bank job, in Liberty, Missouri. They took the bank for $50,000 and doubled their place in the history books by pulling the first known daylight bank heist in the US. There's an open question as to whether Jesse James was part of this run. February 14 1854: The old west definitely got ...
Exactly today Sir Patrick Stewart OutLived Lorne Greene. Not clear on how the Battlestar Galactica would manage against the Enterprise.
The Gunfighter A young punk lies dead after a duel with Gregory Peck in The Gunfighter. Henry King's underrated The Gunfighter (1950) presents the other side of the Wyatt Earp saga, while presaging films that portray the cost of being a gunfighting hero, such as High Noon(1952) and The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance(1962). While Earp's rival Johnny Ringo also served as the model for Stagecoach's Ringo Kid, The Gunfighter’s weary Jimmy Ringo (Gregory Peck) has more in common with Lorne Greene's ballad "Ringo." Fans of the recent Tombstone (1993) will recall Ringo's (Michael Biehn) Latin word duel with Val Kilmer's Doc Holliday. While Earp and, to a lesser extent, Holliday committed their most bloody acts under the blessing of the law, Ringo has killed men in the course of robbery, for hire, or in answer to challenges from lesser opponents. With the reputation as the fastest gun, Ringo finds himself challenged in every town by a young upstart. Two different young men assert that "he's got two hands like eve ...
I've been watching Nature on PBS, and nature and science shows since the 1970s from the time I was 9 - 12 years old. My parents didn't understand my fascination with animals. They saw them as mostly livestock, as they grew up country bumpkins in the old world. Lorne Greene's Wild Kingdom, sponsored by Mutual of Omaha, and David Attenborough were familiar naturalists to me long before not raping nature become mainstream. While watching a show about the Serengeti on the one family TV, about the size of a modern oven, my father noticed me while walking into the living room. "Why don't you go outside and play with the dog if you like animals. What's so interesting about this stuff?" he spouted. I looked up at him and sunk further into our giant couch hoping he would notice me less. But that day the universe smiled on me and the Serengeti delivered in greater abundance than the spring monsoons. At that moment they happen to be showing the spoils of mating season. On the large wood encased glass bubble displaye ...

Good half day up the hill we Lorn :-)
Quem é fan de Bonanza. In the show's early episodes, the writers would typically have the Cartwrights being hostile to visitors to their property. Lorne Greene objected to this pointing out that with the Ponderosa being as large as it is, the Cartwrights would be an important business interest in the community. Thus visitors would naturally come for economic and political reasons as well as social ones and the Cartwrights would logically welcome them as such. The producers agreed and altered the premise of the characters accordingly. During the first season of the show, the guest stars were paid far more than the stars of the show because the producers didn't think that the stars were well-known enough to pull in viewers. When Dan Blocker died unexpectedly shortly before filming began for the final season, it was decided to have *** die too by having him killed in an accident. The opening episode, a two-hour special in which Little Joe marries only to see his bride die, was originally scripted to featur ...
Can't believe Curtis has no idea who Lorne Greene was. C'mon man. It's the MIGHTY LORNE GREENE!
Ringo by Lorne Greene is the most badass song.
I argue for the responsible use and extraction of our countries resources and I get ridiculed. This is the response that makes oil executives and the government want you to have. Somebody is brainwashed :}
Huh. Lloyd Bridges would have been 100 today. He did so many wonderful roles, but I will probably always remember him best for his amazing portrayal of Commander Cain in the original Battlestar Galactica. The interplay between Lloyd Bridges and Lorne Greene in the two part episode that featured Cain was perhaps one of the best moments of the entire series for me.
Bonanza theme song as sung by Johnny Cash, then Lorne Greene at about 2:44
My favorite episode of the original Battlestar Galactica were the ones with Lloyd Bridges because his eyes could fit between Lorne Greene's.
OK question world .. as I was eating my corn flakes I asked myself this .. does eating corn flakes make me real. . Or real basic ? ?
the best part of "Earthquake" is that Ava Gardner plays Lorne Greene's DAUGHTER. hilarious.

Wyatt Earp (Hugh O'Brien), The Bonanza men (Lorne Greene, Pernell Roberts, Dan Blocker, & Michael Landon), Walker, Texas Ranger (Chuck Norris), & not to forget Matt Dillon (James Arness). Only 4 that r miss'n from my lawmen r Bat Masterson (Gene Barry), Maverick (James Garner), & Elliott Ness (Robert Stack), & Wild, Wild West (Robert Conrad). alot of old memories! Funny thing, most gals went for Little Joe. I liked *** best. He was big & burly w/a great big heart & a beautiful, warm smile & gentle as a lamb. Beautiful blue eyes too. Yep, he was definitely my favorite.
Watch in 720p full screen. Lorne Greene, best known as Ben Cartwright on the long running series "Bonanza" reads Clement Moore's "A Visit From St. Nicholas" ...

This mini-series left a bad taste in my mouth for Lorne Greene, Mr. Brady and Sandy Duncan, for a minute.

Canada's first poet laureate was Lorne Greene.
is on the cusp. I need 19 points from Shonn Greene. I might as well be hoping for 19 points from Lorne Greene.
Gorgoroth: the kind of spiky, sparky gothrockers you'd see at Hillzapalooza. Nice Lorne Greene vocal on this cut.
Lorne Greene (February 12, 1915- September 11, 1987), was the stage name of Lyon Himan Green O.C., LL.D., a Canadian actor. Greene was born in Ottawa, Ontari...
Look here each week for fun fraternal facts and figures! Yep, 4F! Today's 4F: Did you know that Lorne Greene, Michael Landon and Dan Blocker were all members of Woodmen of the World/Omaha??? How did Pernell Roberts get away?
SHOWBIZ FACT: Film star Lorne Greene used to have his hair cut by Mo Mowlam.
I have been enjoying my SECOND victory in Joseph Barton's cutthroat Fantasy Football league!!! I feel like Lorne Greene on Battlestar Galactica, leading a "a rag-tag fugitive fleet on lonely quest".a shining state of being known as Mediocrity!! LOLOL :D
I think most people know by now I am 'Bonanza mad' and I recently got this film & Lorne Greene has a starring role so I hope you like it. A Lawman loses his job because of bringing in too many wanted men dead, but then the ageing sheriff of El
The Hardy Boys & Nancy Drew Meet Dracula. Not only do you have Bernie Taupin and Paul Williams appearing but the fact that Glen A. Larson brought you both this and Battlestar Galactica means that he can enlist the acting services of someone like guest-star Lorne Greene.
Abnett and Lanning are focusing on the old ABC show that featured Apollo (Richard Hatch), Starbuck (Dirk Benedict), Adama (Lorne Greene) and the rest of the crew of the starship Galactica as it ventures toward Earth and avoids the evil alien cyborgs known as Cylons that are at war with the human colonies.
My favorite song of the day: A Little Bitty Tear Let Me Down. Gotta admire Burl Ives. He's right up there with Lorne Greene.
Watching the "Roots" miniseries from the 1970s. I actually never saw it back when it first showed. It's a great series, with some incredible story lines that are hot, even by today's standards. But the old-time TV production values are pretty shocking. The slave cabins are large, spacious and well-lit, like the sound stages they were. And it seems that they cast every well-known white father figures against type -- Robert Reed (Brady Bunch dad), Lorne Greene (Bonanza dad), Chuck Connors (The Rifleman dad) and Ralph Waite (The Waltons dad) all play brutal, depraved or willfully ignorant slave owners. THre are some great cameos by Ed Asner (a conflicted slave ship captain) and Vic Morrow (Combat) who plays an nasty overseer. The black all-star cast is incredible: Leslie Uggams, Lou Gosset Jr., John Amos, Ben Vereen, Levar Burton, and (God bless us!) O.J. Simpson!
A short clip of Mike introducing Hullabaloo. Listen out for the voice of Lorne Greene. Sorry film quality not great
Which was the name of the ranch in which long running television series starring Lorne Greene and Michael Landon among others?
Watching "Earthquake" (1974) on AMC. An "all-star" cast with Charlton Heston, Ava Gardner, Genevieve Bujold, Lorne Greene and more. I saw this movie in a specially equipped theater in Montreal that had you "feel" the earthquake...basically from a huge subwoofer I believe. It was, at the time, quite scary. Now, it's mostly interesting to me to see the LA streets and buildings and how different everything was back then!
I'm officially old. Saw "Bonanza" in trending topics & expected to see a discussion about Lorne Greene & Michael Landon.
