After having stood out as the worst ever government even by NC standards, the Omar Abdullah government has exposed itself as the worst loser as well. Though victory and defeat are part of democracy, yet NC leadership is severely unnerved by their defeat in Lok Sabha polls and the prospect of imminent rout in the forthcoming assembly elections, and that is why in desperation they are continuing to pushed the state into anarchy and chaos. This anarchist approach adopted by ruling NC government is further taking the sate into despair and alienation and the NC leadership instead of working seriously for the people’s cause, has further alienated with its utterly callous attitude and mis-governance. And even after having read the writing on the wall, ruling party leadership has adopted an ostrich like attitude and is now trying to mislead the people through fake promises and deceptive announcements. Not having been able to full fill even a single promise made, it has completely lost its credibility and is now ...

Bhagat Singh Bhagat Singh Date of Birth : Sep 27, 1907 Date of Death : Mar 23, 1931 Place of Birth : Jalandhar Bhagat Singh (September 27, 1907 – March 23, 1931) was an Indian revolutionary, considered to be one of the most famous martyrs of the Indian freedom struggle. For this reason, he is often referred to as Shaheed Bhagat Singh (the word shaheed means “martyr”). Bhagat Singh was born into a Sikh family to Sardar Kishan Singh and Vidyavati in the Khatkar Kalan village near Banga in the Jalandhar district of Punjab. His uncle, Sardar Ajit Singh, as well as his father, were great freedom fighters, so Bhagat Singh grew up in a patriotic atmosphere. Ajit Singh established the Indian Patriots’ Association, along with Syed Haidar Raza, to organize the peasants against the Chenab Canal Colony Bill. Secularism is something that our constitution teaches us to follow all across. And my party and I are secular in all our conduct. My problem is with hypocrites like All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen chief Asaduddin Owaisi, who claim to be secular but do not follow it. Asked seven straight questions to Mr Owaisi on his brother's communal conduct during a debate on the Communal Violence Bill debate in the Lok Sabha. His MLA brother not just gave an inciteful speech about Hindu deities in Hyderabad, he also challenged the Indian state. It hurts me when such leaders talk about secularism in Loksabha and TV studios. People like these have only weakened the country in the past few and I am sure about all that being rectified under Modiji's leadership. Jai Hind.

Asaduddin Owaisi on Newshour Debate: The riot blamegame -(13th August 2014) Ruling BJP and opposition Congress on Wednesday (August 13) clashed in Lok Sabha over communal riots in the country with both parties accusing each other of pursuing a divisive agenda and questioning secular credentials. Initiating the discussion on 'Need for more effective mechanisms to deal with communal violence', Leader of Congress Mallikarjun Kharge alleged that over 600 riots had taken place in various parts of the country in two months after Narendra Modi government came to power. Amid strong protests by ruling benches, he suggested that BJP and its affiliates were trying to "divide the society" to retain power and warned that if it was not controlled, "we will repent". Naming VHP and Bajrang Dal and referring to certain comments made by RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat, Kharge said the "communal forces" had got emboldened after BJP came to power as they feel that they have "political power" now and would be protected. In his fiery speech in Lok Sabha, Yogi Adityanath ruefully said that the Opposition has been working on Pakistan's agenda. We think, Pakistan's agenda is to destabilise and break india by inciting India's own population against it. Pakistan has achieved partial success in J&K, where jihadis demand separation. Congress and allies by creating thousands of divides (like Sachar Commitee, Communal Violence Bill, Minority Reservation etc.) within our nation and appeasing the divisive anti-indian forces, is toeing the same line as Pakistan. They almost gifted Siachin to Pakistan, and instead of countering bloody terrorist attacks on the nation – kept harping about their figment of imagination named ‘Saffron Terror’. All of this and uncountable more facts justify Yogi Adityanath's statement. But that's just us. What do YOU think? Let Congress know your opinion. Thanks _ You can watch Yogi Adityanath's ‘politically-incorrect’ speech here: can check out the truth of Sachar Committee here:
BJP appoints JP Nadda Election Incharge in J&K Dr. Nirmal Singh as chairman Election Campaign Committee Jattan Singh Gill Jammu, August 14: BJP National President Amit Shah has appointed National General Secretary Jagat Prakash Nadda as Jammu & Kashmir Assembly election Prabhari. Amit Shah has also appointed BJP National Executive Member Dr. Nirmal Singh as Chairman, Election Campaign Committee for forthcoming J&K Assembly polls, a move that political observers considered just short of projecting him the party’s Chief Ministerial candidate. The effort is seen as a part of the party's move to revamp its Jammu and Kashmir state unit and prepare itself for the upcoming Assembly polls. The appointment of Dr. Nirmal Singh, as Chairman of Election Campaign Committee has been made keeping in view his vast experience in organizational and political matters. It has been welcomed by the party cadre as they are of the firm belief that Dr. Singh’s close rapport with the ground level activists in each constituency ...

Happy Independence Day India has a long history to tell about itself since independent till now. On the occasion of India’s 68th Independence Day, here are some interesting and unknown facts related to India and independence. 1. National flag was hoisted first on August 7, 1906 at the Parsee Bagan Square in Calcutta. The flag was composed of horizontal strips of red, yellow and green. The red strip at the top had eight white lotuses embossed on it in a row. The green strip had a white sun on the left and a white crescent and star on the right. 2. The name `India' is derived from the River Indus, the valleys around which were the home of the first inhabitants of India. The Sanskrit name for India is Bharat Ganarajya. That is the reason why it is also called Bharat. The name “India” comes from the Indus River, which is where earliest settlers made their homes. 3. The current flag has three colours in it. Sikh MP spoke in Bangla Tribune News Service New Delhi, August 12 Darjeeling MP SS Ahluwalia won many hearts in Lok Sabha today when he chose to speak in Bangla while batting for the inclusion of a local north Bengali language in the Eighth Schedule of the Constitution. As Ahluwalia spoke in chaste Bangla, MPs in the House rushed to give him a sobriquet: “The Sikh who speaks Bangla”. The occasion was Zero Hour and Ahluwalia seized it to demand the inclusion of “Kamtapuri” in the Eighth Schedule of the Constitution which provides official recognition to 22 Indian languages. As a representative of Bengali speaking people in Darjeeling, Ahluwalia recalled the majesty of Kamtapuri language which is spoken by the local Rajvanshi tribe of north Bengal. He also mentioned in his speech that Baishila Roy, a courageous leader who fought for the dignity of the Rajvanshis should be made part of the school syllabi in Bengal. Comparing Roy with martyr Bhagat Singh, Ahluwalia said, “Only when Kamtapuri is give ...

New Delhi, Aug 12: Government, on Monday, said illegal routing of international calls is a “serious issue” involving security concerns which has led to an estimated notional loss of over Rs 4 crore to the exchequer. Telecom Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad told the Lok Sabha that that some operators route international calls illegally by violating laid down procedure by using data and not voice protocol. He said since records of such calls is not maintained, the issue also involves “security concerns”. Prasad said in 2011, four cases were unearthed which had led to notional loss of nearly Rs 2.42 crore. In 2012, a single case, which led to a loss of Rs 17.2 lakh, was unearthed. But so far this year, nine cases have been detected and they led to a loss of Rs 1.86 crore. The modus operandi is that the offender sets up an illegal telephone setup using hi-tech equipment and convert incoming international calls as data and then again as local voice calls. He said Telecom Enforcement Resources and Monitorin ...

SANTWANA MANDOL : PROFILE OF COURAGE " They injured my body, they inflicted pain, but I am here and will always be." This FB page had reported about the brutal attack on Santwana Mandal by TMC criminals who in the week following the elections in her area, had abducted her and tried to cut off her breast, as punishment for working for the CPI(M) in the Lok Sabha Elections. On August 2, this courageous woman who is still recovering from the grievous wounds she suffered, spoke at a women's meeting in Hooghly urging women to fight for their rights. She was among other brave women fighting back TMC terror who addressed the meeting in Hooghly district. Present at the meeting were central and State leaders Brinda Karat,Minati Sen and Anju Kar. Electoral disaster for Indian Left: What is to be done? Part One Written by Major Singh, Hamid Alizadeh and Fred Weston Monday, 28 July 2014 India has seen two very powerful general strikes in the past two years, revealing a sharp class polarization in the country, and yet we have the disastrous result in the recent Indian elections for the Communist and left parties. This apparent contradiction has brought into sharp focus the role of the leaders of these parties and their total inability to offer a way out of the impasse they themselves have been responsible for creating. In the 2014 elections for the Indian Parliament (Lok Sabha), held in April/May, the right-wing reactionary BJP party won a clear victory of 282 seats of the total 543 – ten more than would be needed for an absolute majority. Thus the party can rule alone without having to form a coalition. How was it possible for Naredna Modi, a man connected to the most violent, reactionary and chauvinist forces in India, to now comfortably take his ...

Prime Minister of India. Biography Narendra Modi’s journey began in the town of Vadnagar in North Gujarat’s Mehsana district. Born on the 17th of September 1950, Narendra Modi is the 3rd among the 6 children of Hiraba and Damodardas Modi. Narendra Modi’s childhood was one of immense struggle and difficulty. As a youngster he helped his family run a tea-stall at the local railway station to make ends meet. Yet, these hardships did not deter Narendra Modi. He remained a devoted student, always eager to learn something new. From his younger days, Narendra Modi was drawn towards serving the society. It was this passion to serve that drew Narendra Modi to the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), a socio-cultural organisation devoted to the development and regeneration of India in 1972. Being in the RSS meant Narendra Modi had to travel all over India, giving him a first hand experience of India’s diversity, people’s joys and their problems. In the RSS, Narendra Modi made a distinguished mark due to his ...

New Delhi, July 30 The Lok Sabha on Wednesday passed the budget for the national capital by a voice vote. The task, normally carried out in the Delhi Assembly, had to be taken up by the parliament as the state is under president's rule. "The Lok Sabha is taking up the budget as it is a constitutional necessity," Finance Minister Arun Jaitley said in the Lok Sabha. On July 18, Jaitley had presented Delhi's Rs.36,776 crore budget for fiscal 2014-15 in parliament, proposing a new specialty hospital and 100 ambulances for accident victims, while keeping tax rates unchanged. The budget provides for a Rs.260 crore power subsidy for small consumers, ranging from Rs.0.80-Rs.1.20 per unit, four new sewage treatment plants, 50 dialysis centres and Rs.2,400 crore for education. Of the total outlay, the maximum amount - Rs.3,702 crore - has been set aside for the transport sector followed by the allocation of Rs.2,724 crore for the health sector. In his reply to the debate Wednesday, the Finance Minister said Delhi h ...

Members of the Rajya Sabha Wednesday complained that "stale food" was being served to them in the Parliament canteen, and said a few members fell ill because of it. Raising the issue in the house, Janata Dal-United leader K.C. Tyagi said two members - Samajwadi Party's Ramgopal Yadav and Jaya Bachchan - fell ill after consuming food in the Parliament canteen, and asked the government to look into it. "Members are falling ill after eating in the Parliament canteen... Ramgopal Yadav and Jaya Bachchan both fell ill after eating there," Tyagi said. In a lighter vein, Tyagi said: "Is it a conspiracy to keep opposition members away from the house?" Adding to it, Jaya Bachchan said this has been happening regularly. "It has been happening since last 4-5 years... Stale food is being served in the canteen," she said. Parliamentary Affairs Minister M. Venkaiah Naidu said the government will look into the issue. "We have taken note of it. I will call the canteen and check what is happening. We must not discuss this ...

An Open Letter to the New PM of India Dear Mr. PM, First things first, many congratulation to you for sweeping the 16th Lok Sabha Elections – a mighty feat in itself. Though I am against the ideology propogated by your party and would not have liked you to win, I would still give credit where it is due – You worked really hard, with a purpose/ goal set in your mind, executed your plan to the T and were able to sell to the people a dream on which most of the other parties failed. Your entire campaign proceeded with a ‘perfect’ thought – Ends are important irrespective of the means even though in the earlier days it used to be other way round. However, in hindsight, when I think of the past months running up to the elections I personally feel that these elections were the most expensive that independent India ever experienced. Across the various parties I saw HUGE hoardings, placards, stages like a fortress with air-conditioning, chartered planes, n number of cars and bikes, dedicated ‘topis’ ...

AAP and BJP in an 'auto' war: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is probably the only political party in the world that has an ‘auto cell’, the ‘auto’ representing the 100,000-plus autorickshaw drivers who eke out a living driving autorickshaws, a solid chunk of votes if they vote en masse for any one party. In the last Delhi Assembly elections, the majority of autorickshaw drivers voted for AAP, and the party romped home in many seats, catapulting Arvind Kejriwal into the CM’s chair. Then, Kejriwal & co quit and AAP delivered a dud in all seven Lok Sabha seats in Delhi. Right now, autorickshaw drivers are divided between AAP and BJP though the count will still go in favour of AAP. With another round of Delhi elections slated, AAP and BJP are fighting an ‘auto-war’. Both parties are out to prove who serves the interests of autorickshaw drivers more. The Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS), BJP’s trade union arm, called for a day-long auto-strike on Monday. Drivers aligned with AAP were forced to fall in ...
Every fifth Lok Sabha MP a dynast: While dynastic politics may have receded in the Lok Sabha, it is alive and kicking in states. 1 in 5 MPS of this Lok Sabha belongs to a political dynasty, down from one in three dynasts in the previous House, according to data collected by Kanchan Chandra, a political scientist at New York University. "Dynastic representation has declined following the ascension of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to power. In 2009, 29 per cent of Members of Parliament (MPs) had a dynastic background. That (proportion) has dropped to 21 per cent in 2014," Chandra wrote in an article in the July 12 issue of the Economic and Political Weekly. The new Cabinet reflects this change as well. Manmohan Singh's cabinet had 36 per cent of ministers belonging to political dynasties. Narendra Modi's Cabinet has 24 per cent of ministers whose family members have been in politics. The BJP, which swept the recently concluded Lok Sabha Elections, is a cadre-based party and is less likely to field dynast ...
[From PD Rai, MP Lok Sabha] Sikkim Krantikari Morcha's Press Statement released today through Shri KN Lepcha is an exercise in distorting reality. The SDF Party and its leaders have time and again reiterated their unequivocal stand that they will always safeguard the rights of Sikkimese people in the spirit of Article 371F. The statement is yet another attempt by the SKM party to obfuscate the issue of Article 371F to further their vested interests. It deserves to be condemned in the strongest of terms. Chief Minister Shri Pawan Chamling's simple thanks to the people of South and West Districts for reposing their faith in Sikkim Democratic Front for a record fifth term has been distorted and quoted out of context. The press release has also distorted my words which I spoke in the Lok Sabha when I apprised the Finance Minister of our long pending demand that Sikkim's Old Settlers should also be exempted from Income Tax. For Shri Lepcha's benefit, and to set the record straight, here are my exact words as a ...

Jaitley offers only partial tax relief for investors in debt MFs, says govt committed to lower taxes Finance Minister Arun Jaitley had some cheerful news for investors in debt-oriented mutual funds who had sold their holdings ahead of the Union Budget by sparing them from higher capital gains tax, even as he extended tax sops to the wind power sector as part of the Modi government's plan to promote clean energy. Winding up the debate on the Finance Bill in the Lok Sabha on Friday, Jaitley said the government is committed to boosting economic activity to put the country back on a high-growth trajectory, creating more jobs without burdening people and would soon take a decision on controversial tax avoidance rules. The minister said the high tax rate of 20% on debt mutual funds will apply from July 11, the day after the budget was presented, and not from April 1. The Finance Bill was subsequently passed by the Lok Sabha by voice vote. The change is aimed at ending the tax arbitrage enjoyed by short-term inv ...

Today's History-On July 25th 1997, K.R. Narayanan was sworn in as the tenth President of India becoming the first Dalit to hold the prestigious office. It was due to a request from Indira Gandhi that Narayanan joined politics and won three consecutive general elections to the Lok Sabha and served as a Minister of State in the Union Cabinet, under then Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi. Narayanan was elected as a Vice President in 1992 and went on to serve as the President in 1997. Narayanan won the Presidency Elections in 1997 with 95% votes in the electoral college. So far, this is the only presidential election which was held with a minority government in power at the centre. Narayanan has been described as a “working President” and not just a “rubber stamp” President. Narayanan was an independent and a confident President who widened the horizon of the highest constitutional office in the country. As a President, Narayanan used his powers to appoint a Prime Minister in a hung parliament, dismissed a ...
PDP protests force feeding of Maharashtra employee *** Delhi, July 23: Expressing outrage at the behavior of some Members of Parliament, who force-fed an employee of the Maharashtra Sadan, in New Delhi, against his wishes and religious belief, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Wednesday strongly protested against the Lok Sabha not given a chance to debate this serious issue of violating human dignity and personal liberties. The party president, who represents South Kashmir in the Lok Sabha, and her colleague in the House, Tariq Hameed Karra, raised the issue in the parliament and presented a copy of a newspaper to the speaker which carried the report of Shiv Sena MPs from Maharashtra forcing an employee to eat against his wishes. The matter evoked protests within the House and a demand was made for a full-fledged debate on this issue. Kolkata: Assailing the Narendra Modi government for hiking fuel prices and railway fares, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee Monday said her party Trinamool Congress would carry on with its movement to combat such policies. "They said something before the elections and have done things diametrically opposite after the polls. Within a month of coming to power, they have hiked prices of fuel and railway fares," Banerjee said. "We will continue our democratic movements and fight against these things," the Trinamool supremo said at a party rally here. Accusing the Bharatiya Janata Party of trying to "foment riots" in West Bengal, she warned that there was no place for divisive politics in her state. "They are trying to indulge in communal politics in the state. We will not let this happen. There is no room for communalism on the soil of Bengal," she said. Wondering how the BJP could indulge in a massive campaign built on "lies" in the state by winning only one additional seat in the recent Lok Sabha p ...
Text of the Speech in Lok Sabha today on Demands for grant for MOEF. 22nd July, 2014 Hon’ble Speaker, Thank you for giving an opportunity to participate in this discussion on the grant of Ministry of Environment and Forest. Undoubtedly the environment has a significant role in the development of the human kind and same is the vise-versa. Considering, the issues like pollution raised at various levels the MOEF has an important role to play. However, through you I would like you draw the attention of the Government and more particularly the MOEF to the issues related to smaller but important state like Goa. With the total land mass of 3702 Sq. KM the tiny coastal state of Goa is left with hardly 362 Sq. KM for its development to be more precise of the total land mass 40% is agricultural land, 38% is forest, 6% under CRZ and around 2% is for roads and infrastructure. In this backdrop the notification issued by MOEF whereby measure part of the state has been sought to be identified as ecologically sensitiv ...

Narendra Modi gets HC notice in Varanasi poll case IndiaToday.in, July 18, 2014 Prime Minister Narendra Modi has received a setback, with the Allahabad High Court on Friday issuing a notice to him on a petition of Congress MLA Ajay Rai, who has challenged his election from the Varanasi Lok Sabha constituency in Uttar Pradesh. Justice VK Shukla, while passing the order on the election petition of Rai, who had contested as the party's candidate from Varanasi, fixed September 5 as the next date of hearing in the matter. Rai has alleged in his affidavit that Modi had left blank columns relating to his wife Jashodaben's PAN card details and her income, which violated Supreme Court's directions. Rai has also alleged that though the Election Commission had laid down that a candidate in a Lok Sabha poll must not spend more than Rs 70 lakh during electioneering, crores of rupees were spent during Modi's campaign. He has also alleged that T-shirts and caps bearing Modi's name and image were distributed among the pe ...

Women Safety in India-a big Question? The December 16 gang rape of the young paramedic in the moving bus by six men led to widespread anguish and protest across India. As a result, slew of measures were taken by the Delhi Police and Government of India. Among these was setting up of help lines and women help desks at police stations, Parliament enacting the anti-rape law, and et al. The big question arises after one full year of 16 December, has there been any meaningful change in the attitude of society towards woman? Has there been change in the environment with respect to women safety in Delhi? If we look at the statistics provided by the Delhi Police and National Crime Record Bureau (NCRB), we find that all talks of women safety and thereof any meaningful change in the society’s attitude towards women is just a mirage. A Year since the death of the young paramedic Nirbhaya, there has been a 125% jump in the number of rape cases in Delhi. Molestation cases are up a massive 417%. Till November 2013, t ...

Gaza Crisis: PDP says BJP turned Gandhi’s India into spectator SRINAGAR — Continuing with the campaign for the victims of Israeli aggression in Gaza, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) president, Mehbooba Mufti, Friday said the soul of India was being killed by the silence and inaction of BJP government over the atrocities committed on Palestinians.Mehbooba rose up at the start of the proceedings in the Lok Sabha Friday and reiterated that the government must use its influence to stop the aggression on Gaza which has, so far, cost 250 innocent lives with a ground invasion by Israel threatening more destruction.Mehbooba said it was sad that the BJP government in spite of having an overwhelming majority had turned Gandhi’s India, which always took principled stand on Palestine, into a mute, helpless spectator.“Of what use is your brute majority if you feel shaky even by the mention of Gaza in this House and about the atrocities on children, women and aged,” Mehbooba said while pointing to the trea ...
Indian External affairs ministry clears its stand on Israel-Palestine Relations, Govt is Not Ready to discuss issue in Parliament In the Rajya Sabha today, the Opposition parties stalled the proceedings over the procedural wrangle whether to take up or not a short duration discussion on violence in the Gaza and West Bank area of Palestine. Earlier, the house witnessed three adjournments on the issue. The opposition continued to insist on taking up the discussion, saying it was listed in the business of the day. But the government wanted to wait till the Rajya Sabha Chairman takes a decision on its letter that sought no discussion on a sensitive matter in the house as India is friendly to both Israel and the Palestinians. External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj said that both Israel and Palestine are friendly countries to India and such a debate was neither acceptable as per the rules nor desirable. She said the matter should not be discussed to avoid any negative impact on the relations. She also said her ...
During the last 67 years since the Partition of our country, the Congress and the Communists never ever spared a thought for the continued genocide and ethnic cleansing of Hindus in Jammu & Kashmir in their own country; they never demanded a discussion in the Parliament on the systematic state pogrom of wiping off helpless Hindus - their own blood brethren left behind - right in our own backyard in the neighbouring Pakistan and Bangla Desh since 1947,but see it fit to destroy our valuable national institution and our invaluable national time in the Lok Sabha & Rajya Sabha by continuously logjamming the Indian Parliament by demanding a discussion on the far-off Israel-Hamas conflict! So much for their concern for issues Indian!

The dissidents said they would seek an alternative if the party high command fails to respond by then. A source said Gogoi himself has proposed Dutta's name to the party high command as his possible successor in case the party high command chose to replace him or he decides to relinquish the post. "Dutta has been called to New Delhi on Friday he will meet AICC general secretary and in-charge of Assam CP Joshi and later AICC vice-president Rahul Gandhi. His name is certainly doing the rounds as Gogoi's replacement," the source said. A group of Congress MLAs and four ministers had been demanding Gogoi's ouster for the last two years and the pressure intensified a ...

Cong fails in opposing role The Congress Party was mauled in the Lok Sabha Elections because it lacked a credible leadership and was rudderless. One would have expected that it would learn some lessons from its abject failure and emerge chastened in the aftermath of the results as an opposition party of substance. Had it endeavoured to knit the opposition together and put up a strong front in the early days of the 16th Lok Sabha, it would have redeemed itself and looked capable of turning the tables on the NDA in the foreseeable future. But a month-and-a-half down the line after the crushing defeat, it looks as vulnerable as it ever did. What symbolises and reaffirms the failure of its leadership is the manner in which it opposed the ordinance and then the Bill to remove legal hurdles in the appointment of former Telecom Regulatory Authority of India chief Nripendra Misra as Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister. Moving the Bill, Minister for Law and Telecom Ravi Shankar Prasad said the focus of the m ...

Environment Minister Prakash Javadekar told Lok Sabha that under the 'Creation of Management Structure for Hazardous Substances' scheme, government is also setting up integrated recycling facility for e-waste. "In addition, guidelines for implementation of e-waste rules 2011 have been formulated," he said. Javadekar said monitoring of compliance of authorisation and registration conditions fall under the purview of state polution control boards but no large scale violation of the e-waste management and handling rules by industrial units and public enterprises has been reported to the Ministry. The Minister said toxic constituents such as lead, mercury, hexavalent chromium, polyb ...
BJP to form govt in Delhi, Jagdish Mukhi front-runner for CM's post? BJP party is looking to form gov in Delhi. BJP MLAs held a meeting at party's Delhi office today morning amid reports that independents and the lone JD(U) MLA may be willing to support the govt. BJP is open to the idea of forming the gov but they remained tight-lipped on possibilities being explored to get adequate numbers to stake claim. Party had won 31 seats in the Delhi Assembly polls of December last year but its number has come down to 28 in the 70-member house after three of its MLAs -- Harsh Vardhan, Ramesh Bidhuri and Pervesh Verma -- were elected to Lok Sabha in the recent general elections. The party has the support of the lone Shiromani Akali Dal MLA. Newly appointed Delhi BJP president Satish Upadhyay on forming the government in Delhi said that the party is ready to take the plunge, nearly six months after refusing citing lack of majority. Meanwhile, reports are also doing the rounds that the BJP is considering its Janakpu ...

Congress Vice-President Rahul Gandhi Summoned by Bhiwandi Court:: Mumbai: A local court in Bhiwandi has issued summons to Congress Vice-President Rahul Gandhi for his comments on the Rashtriya Swyamsevak Sangh (RSS) during an election rally in the area during the Lok Sabha Elections this year. The summons were issued after a RSS worker Rajesh Kunte filed a case on March 18. Mr Gandhi, 44, had told supporters in an election rally on March 6 that the RSS had a role to play in Mahatma Gandhi's assassination in 1948. Mr Gandhi had said that the RSS was behind Mahatma Gandhi's assassination and Sardar Patel had written about it as well. The court had asked for a police report and after studying the report the court has summoned Mr Gandhi on October 7.
Rahul and Sonia Gandhi get zilch; Rajnath, Modi favoured The NDA government seemed to have enforced its dominance over the Congress in its Budget presentation on Thursday, with Central projects moving away from the constituencies of the Gandhis and into that of Home Minister Rajnath Singh and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Finance Minister Arun Jaitley put his constituency of Amritsar on the list of beneficiary districts, while not announcing even a single development scheme for Raebareli and Amethi, the respective seats of Congress president Sonia Gandhi and her son Rahul Gandhi. The "National Heritage City Development and Augmentation Yojana” is to benefit Amritsar through the conservation of heritage centres across six identified cities. During his speech in the Lok Sabha, Jaitley announced a "Trade Facilitation Centre” and a "Crafts Museum” for Modi’s Varanasi constituency. To back these projects, the minister proposed a Rs 50-crore outlay to promote the holy city’s rich tradition of weaving ...

Rediff live: 13:19 Why do you keep Jaya's photos in your pockets, Modi asks AIADMK MPs: Our mole in Parliament tells us that Prime Minister Narendra Modi was curious when he spotted Tamil Nadu CM J Jayalalithaa's photographs peeping out of the pockets of 48 AIADMK MPs. Modi was in the Central Hall of Parliament, on his way to the Rajya Sabha from the Lok Sabha. He asked an AIADMK MP about the pictures and it was Dr V Maitreyan, Leader of the Rajya Sabha, who stepped forward and answered Modi's question. Maitreyan, who answered in Hindi, said the photograph was a token of the reverence and respect with which the MPs held their leader. They said it's their way of keeping 'Amma' close to their hearts. The question is, will BJP MPs now take a page of this book of sycophancy and carry Modi's pictures? Wait and watch.
C-H-A-K-R-A-V-Y-U-H-A --- T-E-A-M (NYAYA, NEETI, DARMA) PAPA PUNYA YELLA PUSTAKADA BADANE KAAYI- During the Lok Sabha Elections, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi promised to bring down prices. But instead of fulfilling his promise, one of his first major policy decisions as Prime Minister has been to hike rail fares. His government has increased passenger fares by 14.2%, the highest ever in our history, and freight charges by 6.5%. This move would fuel inflation and is against every promise he made in the election campaign. Higher freight charges will drive up the price of coal which will, in turn, make electricity more expensive. The already high prices of fruits and vegetables will rise even further. The fare hike could not have come at a more inappropriate time. Food prices are already on the rise. Global crude oil prices are increasing because of the conflict in Iraq, which will further push up inflation in India. Shri Modi politicised the issue of inflation and spared no opportunity in attacking e . ...

Narendra Modi misguided people during LS poll: Congress New Delhi, July 2: The Congress on Tuesday attacked the NDA government over "rising" prices of essential commodities and accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of "misguiding" people during the Lok Sabha polls campaign by claiming that he would "solve all the problems" if voted to power. "Modi misguided people of the country by claiming that all problems will be resolved," Congress general secretary Shakeel Ahmed told reporters here. "Prices of petrol, diesel, gas cylinder have gone up and there has been a hike in train fares after Modi became Prime Minister. Not even a single commodity has become cheaper," he said. His comments came a day after the petrol price was hiked by Rs 1.69 per litre and diesel by 50 paise a litre. He took potshots at Modi saying that after becoming the Prime Minister he had gone "silent." "Modi has gone silent now and it appears his speech too had become costlier," Ahmed said. He claimed that since NDA came to power, about se ...

Jun 30 2014 : The Times of India (Lucknow) Scramble in BJP for UP bypoll tickets - Wanting To Ride Modi Wave, Biggest Rush For Lucknow(E) - The Narendra Modi wave that swept Uttar Pradesh and got the BJP 73 seats in the Lok Sabha polls is now drawing a swarm of ticket-seekers for the byelections to the seats that fell vacant when party MLAs bagged parliamentary seats. Lucknow (East) seems to be the most sought after, with up to 70 candidates vying for the ticket. The other seats up for grabs are also seeing a beeline of ticket aspirants. Party sources say the number of such aspirants is close to 300 now. Eleven BJP MLAs who won the Lok Sabha Elections have vacated their assembly constituency seats. Finance ministry may double tax exemption limit under 80C to Rs 2 lakh New Delhi: Seeking to boost household savings, the finance ministry is considering doubling the exemption limit for investments by individuals in financial instruments to Rs 2 lakh. Presently the investments and expenditures up to a combined limit of Rs 1 lakh get exemptions under Sections 80C, 80CC and 80 CCC of the Income-Tax Act. Sources said the revenue department is assessing the burden on the exchequer in case of increase in the benefit limit. The announcement is expected in the Budget. The budget for 2014-15 will be presented by Finance Minister Arun Jaitley in the Lok Sabha on July 10. There have been demands from bankers and insurers to hike the tax exemption limit from Rs 1 lakh per annum to encourage household savings. The savings rate has come down from over 38 per cent of GDP in 2008 to 30 per cent in 2012-13. The hike in the exemption limit, sources said, would provide much needed relief to the salary earners who are reel ...
Strange as it may seem, 30% of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) candidates for the second phase of Lok Sabha polls in Madhya Pradesh are billionaires, while 40% have criminal records against them.
You like the candidate you press the button in front of the party’s symbol to vote on electronic voting machines. Now if you do not like the entire list of candidates you have an option of NOTA or ‘None of the Above’. Voters have all rights to press this option if they wish to reject all the political parties contesting the elections. So instead of sitting at home just go and show your wish.Earlier the citizens of India were not provided with the option NOTA but in 2009 the Election Commission stated its desire to the Supreme Court to add NOTA at the ballet. Government opposed NOTA as this was one of the ways to dilute the number of votes. On the contrary the Supreme Court of India ordered to add the option on 27 September 2013 with a belief that it will definitely increase the number of voters. The orders were passed by a bench headed by Chief Justice P Sathasivam. In 2014 Lok Sabha Elections, 814 million people are eligible to vote for 543 constituencies in 9.3 lakh polling stations and for the fi ...
With the point of view of assembly elections after massive defeat in the Lok Sabha polls, the Congress-NCP government has approved 16% reservation for Marathas and 5% for Muslims in government jobs and education institutions. Thus reservation in jobs and educational institutions in Maharashtra will go up to 73%.A questions rises about it whether the new quota would stand legal in view of the Supreme Court judgments of 50% limit on reservations,Actually CM Mr Chavan know very well,Proposed reservation is against fundamental principle of constitution.SC would quash it in single word.He is making fool maratha and muslim voters. This Cong NCP'S move is likely to be proved worthless in coming assembly Poll.

Listening to 4 icons of these challenging times – Ang San Sue Kyi, Kuldeep Nayar, Chunibhai Vaidya and Arvind Kejriwal It has been a period of serious introspection and interactions since 16th May when India was old that the elections for Lok Sabha – 2014 have resulted into a clear madate in favour of Shri Narendra Modi led Bharatiya Janata Party and its allies. Most of them have taken place in New Delhi. Some of them were initiated by me in North –east Delhi Lok Sabha parliamentary constituency which gave me Four Lakh and Fifty two thousand votes and made the eminent congress candidate loose his deposit. It is another matter that this did not alter the fact that it was not sufficient to get elected as a Bollywood Bhojpuri film star got Five Lakh Ninety Thousand votes as successful BJP candidate. There have been three workshop at JNU by Chatra Yuva Sanghrsh Samiti about it.
