This morning our team climbed into a long narrow canoe 3-4 in out of the water and traveled into the jungle via small tributary to Prima Vera...a village of 106 people. Our team gave out clothes, worm meds to kids and adults...pulled infected teeth...gave out pain meds and prenatal vitamins. 4 women trusted Christ as Savior after the quiet Bible class led by Gilma the pastor's wife. My heart broke as I spoke to a 19 yr old mom nursing her baby of 9 mo. Her oldest child is.NINE yrs old. She gave birth at the same age of my 10 yr old granddaughter. Daniel, a young mom who is a Believer was bitten by a very poisonous snake right before we arrived. We went to check on her at the local hospital when we returned. A German business had recently donated a bunch of anti-venom so it looks like she will be ok. The hospital is something out of the early 1900's.so primitive and dirty. We are so blessed in America. Council Buying Local South Burnett Regional Council will officially “Think Local First” following major changes to their procurement policy being adopted at the last Council meeting for 2012. Mayor Wayne Kratzmann said “The amendments to Council’s procurement policy means local businesses will have even more opportunity to be Council’s preferred supplier of goods.” “We have made two (2) major changes that will mean Council doing more business in the South Burnett,” said Mayor Kratzmann. Gun Ownership - It's The , Law In Kennesaw By Jonathan Hamilton and David Burch KENNESAW, Ga - Several Kennesaw officials attribute a drop in crime in the city over the past two decades to a law that requires residents to have a gun in the house. In 1982, the Kennesaw City Council unanimously passed a law requiring heads of households to own at least one firearm with ammunition. The ordinance states the gun law is needed to "protect the safety, security and general welfare of the city and its inhabitants." Then-councilman J.O. Stephenson said after the ordinance was passed, everyone "went crazy." "People all over the country said there would be shootings in the street and violence in homes," he said. I'd like to open an indoor swimming facility for dogs... perhaps with a regulation dock for the dock divers but gear the facility for people who need/want an affordable option to swim their dogs, whether it be for exercise, therapy, etc. Wonder how much interest there would be in GA, even if when it's not winter...
